  2. WCW Saturday Night Sting vs. The Diamond Studd – non-title The Diamond Mine is in the unfortunate position of being a heel stable at a time when the Dangerous Alliance has been the focus of the company....so while they've had plenty of success they've always really been playing second fiddle. No Dangerous Alliance then the DM may have been THE group, but not until they ditch the gimmicky names, particularly the Diamond Studd....that being said, Diamond Studd, Scott Hall, Razor Ramon, whatever the name, he wouldn't be winning this Warrior & Cactus vs. Brian Pillman and Rick Rude It's hard to bet against the Warrior, but Cactus is there to eat a loss if need be.....of course this may just turn into a dq victory for the Faces but in reality I see a countout loss Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin – non-title This is a very hard pick....Austin probably should win, but Bret needs a big win somewhere (and this would be a huge one considering Austin's standing) plus I wouldn't be surprised to see Michaels cost Austin the match.....incidentally, with Sting, Hart, Michaels, Austin, Hall, Nash etc, WCW is going to be set for main eventers for years Dustin Rhodes and Randy Savage vs. The Stocks And Shares Express – non-title Non-Title means the Faces win.....plus Rhodes and (especially) Savage are miles ahead of the Express at this point Beat The Champ: Brian Armstrong vs. Owen Hart © – WCW Television Title I feel like you have something in the pipeline for the future Road Dogg, he's been subtly appearing for a few weeks now.....oh, he's not beating Owen.....but something down the line Barry Windham vs. Shawn Michaels Even by Barry's 1993 standards this would be a great match.....Baz is probably doing the job (and probably should be since Shawn has a big title programme upcoming) but Windham could do with something to do.....maybe linking into the NWA Title picture would be a start Plus: Commissioner Ventura hosts the contract signing between Sting and Brian Pillman! These never end well!
  3. The Monday Night Wars: Week 3, February 1998 Well we have around 6 weeks worth of television before my self imposed end point of Wrestlemania XIV, with WCW still having 2 PPV offerings between now and then (since I fiddled with the schedule) so the question isn't whether we are or aren't going to see a stable with those guys, it's whether we are or aren't going to find out before he diary comes to a close And they pulled a hell of a grade for 1998 Edge too. A's have been rare in WCW but they're starting to come thick and fast now.....for what it's worth (spoiler alert) Benoit/Regal (both of whom have been putting in some great "performances") pulled out an A in the next show too.....WCW's New Generation are starting to blossom

  8. <p><strong>Sting and Dustin Rhodes </strong>vs. Brian Pillman and Steve Austin</p><p> <em>Hot damn, it’s the Hollywood Blondes.....quite possibly my favourite tag team ever. That being said I don’t think they’re winning. I don’t think they’ll lose decisively, maybe a deliberate dq or something but they aren’t winning</em></p><p> </p><p> Beat The Champ: Rey Mysterio Jr vs. <strong>Owen Hart</strong> © – WCW Television Title</p><p> <em>I said it would take a big name to beat Steamers. Funny to think of Owen Hart as a big name in January of 93 but you’ve built him up tremendously.....far too well to put over Rey anyway</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, Sid Vicious and Marcus Bagwell </strong>vs. The York Foundation</p><p> <em>I love the York Foundation, but with the exception of Buff that’s a pretty star studded opposing team</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Thrillseekers </strong>vs. The Malenkos</p><p> <em>With the auditions for the Horsemen continuing, the Thrillseekers could impress.....I still like the idea of the Malenko’s as Horsemen though.....or A Malenko at least.....where’s Chris Benoit? He pops up in 93</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Horsemen</strong> vs. John Bradshaw and Paul Levesque</p><p> <em>What an interesting combination.....as young Paul’s childhood dream comes true, sharing the ring with the Nature Boy</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Incidentally I think the Warriors drug of choice was caffeine.....him and Macho Man used to drink 50 cups and see who could get the most hyped.....although I’m sure there was some other pharmaceuticals involved too </em><img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em> </em></p>

  10. 'Mr. 619' Rey Mysterio [vs] Mike Kanellis Is Kanellis still a cuck? He’s not winning regardless here Montez Ford w/ Angelo Dawkins [vs] 'The Archer Of Infamy' Damian Priest The tag team star shouldn’t be going over the singles, not unless there’s a partner waiting in the wings Kacy Catanzao [vs] Sonya Deville I don’t know who the opponent is Breezango [vs] Technique (Cezar Bononi and Arturo Ruas) w/ Taynara Conti Again, don’t know the opponents The Brian Kendrick [vs] Drew Gulak Kendrick must be winding down by now Johnny Gargano and Finn Balor [vs] Samoa Joe and Cesaro
  11. Turns out I do know who Buddy Murphy is, I remember the tag team in NXT with Alexa, that was about the last time I was watching semi regularly. I certainly wouldn’t have recognised him though otherwise. As for the other guy, looks like he’s worth checking out for his manager alone.....Yowie Wowie. Thanks for the cliff notes, I’m probably going to check out a bit more of his stuff from NXT, looks like he had a decent run there
  12. Dustin Rhodes vs. Shawn Michaels It won’t be clean, but a good win for Shawn against an (as daft as it sounds given his age/experience) an established star for WCW....that being said, Dustin picking up the win wouldn’t surprise me too much Sting vs. Vinnie Vegas – non-title Big test to see what Vegas can do against the “Big Boys” let’s see if he’s here to play Beat The Champ: Ricky Steamboat © vs. Richard Morton – WCW Television TItle Steamers seems the logical choice given how he just defeated Morton....that being said, this TV Title is a bit of a wild card sometimes, anything can happen, especially if Taylor costs the Dragon Barry Windham vs. Terence Taylor – non-title Non-Title.....I guess Barry can’t afford to pay to play....I’d like to see Taylor win this, mainly because I’m loving the Foundation and Barry is a little bit in limbo at the minute, but I’ve a sneaking suspicion that Baz comes out with the win Ultimate Warrior and Cactus Jack vs. The Calgary Connection I’m actually quite torn here.....I’m mean, on one side you have Warrior, but on the other you have one of the most successful pairings of the diary.....let’s go with the Warrior card for now Arn Anderson and Ric Flair vs. The Malenkos In all honesty the Malenko’s probably wouldn’t be bad picks as Horsemen. They certainly have the wrestling ability, with Flair (and Arn) to carry the promo’s.....that said they won’t win but they might impress
  13. I don’t ready many (actually any) modern day stuff and I’m not as active on the boards as I once was so forgive me if I miss a few shows here and there but I’m looking forward to see what you can do. I’m trying to watch a bit more current day stuff (thanks AEW and Powerrrrrrrrrrrr) but there’s a good chance a lot of these are going to be pure guesses because I’m not that up to date on current WWE.....so with that being said..... 'Psycho Killer' Tommaso Ciampa [vs] 'Tranquillo' Andrade w/ Zelina Vega I don’t know who the other guy is, but Ciampa I like. Hopefully he gets a good shot going forward and he should be fun to write Becky Lynch and Carmella [vs] Bayley and Lacey Evans Shot in the dark. I know Becky was hot for a minute but I think Bayley is on a bit of a resurgence now right? And they must be hot on Lacy Evans to have stuck her on the Saudi show Shelton Benjamin and ?? [vs] The Revival I don’t normally bet against the squiggles but I like an old-school team like the Reval Ali [vs] 'The Best Kept Secret' Buddy Murphy I’ve seen Ali recently, he’s good.....the other guy must really be the best kept secret because I have no idea who he is RAW Tag Team Title Match: Hawkins and Ryder © [vs] The OC (Gallows and Anderson) Good for the Edgeheads winning the gold in 2019 but the tag team division can benefit a lot more by having credible champs....that and I like the OC at the minute, love a good stable 'The Monster Among Men' Braun Strowman [vs] 'The Drifter' Elias Man, I love Elias.....seriously, he’s great and actually has a character which is few and far between in the WWE, but he ain’t winning here. Braun is a funny one. A Monster Among Men but they’ve managed to turn him into a bit player who never wins the big one.....Babyface Monsters are hard to book effectively if they never win the big matches I guess
  14. I’ll mirror these picks too....it’s probably a bit soon for Luchamerica to drop the titles, but I like the idea of the York Foundation adding more gold so I’ll go for that

  16. Great Clash, I’m curious to see where the Savage/Austin/Michaels (Tyson? No wait, he’s in jail about now ) dynamic goes.....that and what happens with Bret Hart now.....speaking of The Hitman..... Sting and ??? vs. The Calgary Connection ....he’s the partner right? That makes sense to me and I’m very curious to see him and Owen mix it up Beat The Champ: Ricky Steamboat © vs. Mr Hughes – WCW Television TItle Much like with Savage you’re going to need a big name to take the title from Steamers.....Mr. Hughes is a big man, big name not so much Ric Flair and Arn Anderson vs. The Thrillseekers I cant see it happening, but by god what an upset and star making win that could be Dustin Rhodes vs. Steve Austin – non-title Although the fact that it’s non-Title makes me think maybe a Savage or Michaels could cost Austin Michael Hayes vs. Rick Rude Old P.S had a brief resurgence last year.....he’s in for a Rude Awakening here though.....did you see what I did there The Young Pistols vs. The Malenkos Eh, flip a coin.....I was a huge Pistols fan for some strange reason back in the day but there are younger cowboys with more upside out there if that’s what you’re looking for.....whatever happens to old Kip and Colt? Oh and incidentally.....I love that the Warrior is alway ‘on’.....Warrior and Cactus for the gold

  18. Sting © vs. Rick Rude – WCW World Title Sting may well close the door on his feud with Rick Rude here, but with Pillman waiting in the background it would seem his feud with the Dangerous Alliance is far from over. Sting went through too much to win this title to drop it so easily, I don't know where Rude goes from here though. Randy Savage vs. Steve Austin © – WCW United States Title Randy could easily win this one, but Savage seems to be more of a background player in a lot of ways. Saying that I could see this once continuing. A no finish or cheap win for Austin sends them to SuperBrawl for a gimmick match of some discription. Title vs. Title: Rhodes & Windham © vs. The Diamond Mine © – WCW World Tag Team Titles and WCW United States Tag Team Titles I thought the DM would have taken these at the last show, they're definitely taking them at this show. I'm guessing you're unifying the titles because of the absolutely abundance of championships that you have in play now that the NWA titles are here too? Bret Hart vs. Brian Pillman I'm generally a bit of a sucker for keeping the number one contenders strong....that being said, I think there's legs in Bret defeating the current number one contender Sid Vicious, Ricky Steamboat and Marcus Bagwell vs. Terence Taylor and The Stocks And Shares Express Im really enjoying what you've done with The York Foundation.....that and they are the more regular unit. Bagwell is there to take the loss if need be (since I don't see Sid or Steamboat counting the lights) but is there a more "York Foundation" sounding name than Marcus Alexander Bagwell? That's a name that fits right in with Terence, Robert and Richard.....turn? Arn Anderson and Ric Flair vs. Jeff Jarrett and Brian Christopher The deadest cert of the night.....I like the pairing of Jarrett and Christopher though Plus who knows what Commissioner Jesse Ventura may come up with on the night? Is that code for "maybe I'll have some time to fill"?

Man, never mind Luger, Rocky is the true Jobber to the Stars.....although in my defence, we are only just out of 1997.....in real world terms this is still Intercontinental level Nation Member Rock So.....did Warrior and Savage win because Warriors creative control forced the result? Or were HBKBL always going to be doing the job? I'll let you decide that one for yourself This team (Awesome/Cain) has grown on me, to the point that they aren't likely to be a job team any time soon. In fact, if Bobby Eaton keeps levelling Gideon Cain up the way he has been, they could well end up one of my top teams You didn't do too bad.....to be fair I have been having a lot of interactions that don't actually relate to this event as of late....gotta sew them seeds somewhere, that or I'm just A.D.D with my booking.....it might be the latter Hardy is a bit "Chris Jericho" circa early 1998 here, slightly too big to be the Cruiserweight Champion, but big enough at the same time to carry the whole division. He's certainly head and shoulders above Hayabusa in terms of popularity.....so while he was never supposed to be the champion to begin with, he put Hayabusa over without problem and elevated him while doing so, so maybe he'll be back in the title picture at some point Gideon Cain is an awesome name and totally NOT a product of a random name generator It's almost mandatory now for the new champions first defence to be against a Giant of some sorts isn't it? *coughKANEcough* Bammers is indeed a former world champion (thanks to the AI) but that questionable decision did present with an interesting storyline idea, so...... .....oh.....and I choose to ignore the rest of your statement.....Sully Rules He wasn't, in fact he shouldn't have had the title at all, but (as with the Bigelow title reign) it did present with a different direction and in all honesty, a better direction.....Hayabusa and to a lesser extent Hakushi are better options than Tajiri anyway. Not a comment I ever expected to read when I started this throw away three week feud three months or so back Thank you good sir, glad you enjoyed it Thanks for the kind words.....in answer to your question, erm, not really.....I don't know if I mentioned it before (I'm sure I did but it was probably a while back) but the original plan for this diary was to wrap it up at Wrestlemania 13. I came in with a clear plan of what I wanted to do for 12-14 months, with the birth and explosion of the KLiQ, along with HBK's year long run with the belt, but then I got to Wrestlemania 13 and really started enjoying Scott Steiner's rise, so I wanted to carry that on.....then I took over WCW too and here we are (running ECW as well) So, long story short, no I didn't really have anything panned out for Shawn. I imagine he would have taken a bit of a hiatus at some point, I'll often take guys off tv for a while (Undertaker, Mankind etc) so I imagine he would have come back as a face to feud with Vince's newest boy Brian Pillman.....I am having a lot of fun with him over in WCW right now though so I'm glad he headed down south. Now with Souled Out in the bag we can officially move onto February, so let's do that..... [/center]
  23. <p>Bret Hart vs. <strong>Rick Rude</strong></p><p> <em>I know I said it was time for Bret to start doing something, but damn he picked a poor place to start. Rude has to be super over after that dominating title reign, certainly more so than the Hitman who’s been spinning his wheels a little.....incidentally, after Owens run in the DA and CC, who’s the more over Hart?</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sting </strong>vs. Owen Hart</p><p> <em>Bad night for the Harts, as Sting takes out Pillman’s Partner.....both this and the Bret/Rude match should be great though</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Dustin Rhodes</strong> vs. The Diamond Studd</p><p> <em>As should this, some great potential matches on this show. I’m torn with this one....Studd has picked up some wins recently though so let’s go with Dustin</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Arn Anderson</strong> vs. Steve Williams</p><p> <em>The toughest test so far in these Horsemen tryouts, but Arn goes over</em></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sid Vicious and Marcus Bagwell</strong> vs. The Stocks And Shares Express</p><p> <em>If the S&S Express have any chance of winning here they need to keep Sid out of the match....big win for Marcus? Or another frustrating loss? Let’s go with a win</em></p><p> </p><p> Beat The Champ: Rey Mysterio Jr vs. <strong>Robert Eaton </strong>© – WCW Television Title</p><p> <em>Rey must be barely out of diapers here, I know he started young but damn, experience gives Eaton the edge and the win....oh, and if York is looking for a new name for the Alabama Jam, “The Long/Short”......long and short are the terms for investments rising and falling, kinda fits with the business side of the YF, plus ya know, Eaton rises and falls when he does the move </em><img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  24. Im not really one to bump my thread if I can help it (which is why I generally try to reply to a bunch of comments at once) but I posted the Souled Out show a while back and the forum doesn't seem to want to acknowledge it as I'm still sat way back here on page 4.....so, apologies but here's a pointless post to bump it along a bit
