HarryFandango86 replied to jean-vic's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 General Discussions
I don’t think wwe made their recent cuts cos they ‘needed’ to. It was more so they could present good figures at their Quarter press conference. They like their figures looking as good as possible -
Owner or Booker?

Owner. Booker seems like a pain if you wanna do decide things your way -
How do pop changes work?
HarryFandango86 replied to Idea-ology's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 General Discussions
There is a pop cap going on with some guys, they can only ever get over so much with the cos of the ‘billy Gunn effect’ That being said, I have John Morrison at 71 pop vs Jericho at 85 pop Both be like very warm moment. Match scores 91. With Morrison taking a clean decisive victory on a PPV and he doesn’t budge not by one point anywhere. This surely gotta not be working right?! I am also scratching my head about this. -
So I had two main guys at mania I wanted to push John Morrison And edge. Morrison is like mid 70s with warm momentum vs Jericho who is mid 80s with very warm momentum, and I have Morrison win but all that happened was Jericho lost a bunch of pop and Morrison didn’t budge not even by 1. It was similar Story when I had edge Beat Eddie Guerrero. The one thing I will say is I didn’t have ‘decisive victory’ ticked. Does anyone have any thoughts though on why Morrison and edge didn’t budge an inch in popularity? Does it really have to be all in and be like white hot momentum and decisive victory. It further confused me cos both matches got respectable scores overall (Morrison vs Jericho ; mid 80s match) (edge vs Eddie g ; around 92) so it’s not like the matches bombed.

Building Momentum

If their momentum is already warm or very warm and they turn and it’s a success, would that positively affect momentum at all? -
Building Momentum
HarryFandango86 replied to munro's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 General Discussions
This is why I started a new game purely with the hindsight of how momentum is working. Gots to be careful to pick who’s gonna lose. I really like it though, it adds a bit of depth to booking decisions -
I was thinking maybe storylines shouldn’t be advanced if it’s on say a ‘throwaway’ event. I would probably do tribute to the troops as this type of event and I wouldn’t even have it broadcast on tv, it is just a bunch of random fun matches I guess. I accept it if there’s some other Gameplay reason why storylines should advance here. Also I’m a bit iffy on if storylines should really advance on pre-shows. I remember this was nerfed in tew 2016. Perhaps as a compromise there could be a road agent note to ‘not advance storyline .....’.

I can barely get this momentum bar to budge on stars I want to push either. I understand it’s a long term thing and there’s a hidden short term bar, but I think over 5 months I have had Scotty2hotty lose maybe once and he is still cooled momentum. I don’t know how long term we are talking with this bar.

TEW 2020 released!
HarryFandango86 replied to Arlie Rahn's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 General Discussions
Well no game is ever gonna be perfect. I really enjoy this new installment of TEW 2020. The new additions are really good and I don’t think I could go back to tew 2016 now. I hope tew 2024 improves on things for the people who don’t like it. There’s no reason to think 2020 still won’t improve anyway, cos Adam will keep tweaking it and working at it for years yet, just like he did with tew 2016. I hope he does a second comic book hero before the next tew though. -
Great job improving the UI

TEW 2020 released!
HarryFandango86 replied to Arlie Rahn's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 General Discussions
Exciting. Thank you Adam and co! -
It has been a great effort from Adam to change things up when things weren’t right and I’m sure the game will be great when it’s released. That being said, shouldn’t it have been pushed back a week further to let us feel out the new UI to make sure we all like it and make sure there’s no new crashes that have crept back in.

How do you book?
HarryFandango86 replied to NinjaBadger4k's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 General Discussions
I take a good half an hour or more for each show. I see the game as a marathon not a sprint, and maybe it sounds weird, I don’t like to know what’s going to happen on a show, until I book it to happen...maybe I have an idea of main event matches for events and especially mania that will happen but getting there, I don’t know what happens. Like last night I had no idea cactus jack would help the undertaker and assault ric flair. It was a real surprise. It all gets me more immersed in the world I am playing. -
I am buying for sure. I haven’t looked at another game since this demo came out. Games do have teething issues when they are first released, even for example football manager, they can not get their match engine working. Tew 2020 has had its teething issues but I feel a lot less so than any other game and judging by the commitment that went into tew 2016, Im sure Adam and his team will work as hard as they can to bring a stable working game. They ain’t just gonna abandon it like ya football managers and FIFA’s and wwe2kwhatever do and start working on next years game. I am pretty sure even if some things feel ‘off’ and not perfectly ‘balanced’ you can still get solid enjoyable gameplay out of 2020.

tew 2016 is a really well polished game. TEW 2020 has even more potential though. I am no modder but I converted a mod from 1994 and it seems to work fine. Just takes time to play around editing attributes and stuff. I am in a real ratings battle with wcw now, whereas it was like see ya later, wcw, in tew 2016.

How to get people over.
HarryFandango86 replied to ShaunGBD's topic in Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 General Discussions
There’s a maturity age. And I don’t know this for sure and I couldn’t find it mentioned in the handbook when I searched for it (perhaps I missed it) but my best guess is this represents the age they begin to really develop their skills a lot, and this can be any random age up to 30. Does anyone know if that’s correct or not? Also it’s important to hone those skills, I feel, cos if you get their pop up and put them in a big match and they can’t live with it then the match rating will surely bomb. Say, there would be a point where the fans expect their ability to live up to their position on the card. -

I think just being in segment which is rated higher than their pop value will always do them some good. It doesn’t always have to be dominating wins. General exposure, I guess. Play to their strengths, are they talkers? Let em talk, are they dominate guys. Sure dominating is fine (I guess like wwe would but yeah that gets stale) But if you get say a young aj styles, I’d bet he could have a great 15 minute match vs a main eventer(let’s say undertaker) and despite losing he’d gain some good pop for a great match, maybe they even have a feud and he gets the exposure that way and also gets to build his skills off working with someone like taker.
