  1. What affects whether a worker is a potential owner? I was looking to see if maybe I could make Jesse Power a potential owner, but if there's a checkbox for that, I missed it.
  2. <p>A few trophies I made yesterday</p><p> </p><p> I was making a developmental company yesterday in Mexico, hoping to cause SOTBPW a few problems and decided to try making some trophies for my tournaments. Afterwards, I created a couple for my main CZCW promotion as well.</p><p> </p><p> First, we have the Campeón Azteca de la Guerra (I apologize if any of the Spanish is off. I just used google's translate feature). I made the tournament in March since that's when the Aztec's celebrated a holiday honoring their war god.</p><p> <img alt="2C4BdmA.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/2C4BdmA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Next, there's the Campeón del Cuauhtemoc, the Aztec's last emperor. The Homage to Cuauhtemoc Festival is held in August, so that's when I scheduled this tournament. </p><p> <img alt="lxRZ9pN.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/lxRZ9pN.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> The final two are just generic trophies I made for Coast Zone Championship Wrestling, as I always liked the idea of a wave as a trophy.</p><p> <img alt="npllriF.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/npllriF.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="8gT3iU3.jpg" data-src="https://imgur.com/8gT3iU3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Anyway, these probably aren't up to the quality of some other posters, but I figured I'd share, since I thought they came out fairly well for a first try.</p>

That is why I chose Prowlers.</span></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I was going with JAG Corps for the simple fact that El Jaguar is in the group and Corps was the only group term that I felt really went with it. I do like Prowlers though. My only issue is it feels too simple. I may combine my former name for the group and have them be Prowler Corps or Prowl Inc or something. </p><p> </p><p> I do think prowling definitely fits with my vision for Jaguar and Confiado, though. Good call.</p>
  4. <p>So, I currently have El Alboratador Confiado, El Jaguar, and Bradley Blaze as the Trios Champions in CZCW. I'm trying to come up with a name for them, but nothing good so far. Other than all being heels and wearing leopard-print, I'm not coming up with a common theme. </p><p> </p><p> For background, Confiado is the leader of the group, a main eventer who has isolated himself with his smug attitude and attacks on other main eventers since he joined CZCW a few months ago. El Jaguar is a former star for CZCW who has been forgotten as the company grabbed stars from other companies or their developmental territories. Now, with a chip on his shoulder, he's allied with Confiado to dominate the trios division. Meanwhile, Bradley Blaze is a curtain jerker who sees his alliance with Confiado and Jaguar as a way to make a name for himself and get above the opening spot on the card.</p>

Oh. I was thinking 90. Maybe Spade <em>could</em> be a decent performer. Stupid psychology.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Assuming we're talking Spencer Spade, yeah, he's awesome. I've been using him as my figurehead for almost three years now. He's about to lose his title that's he's been holding for about 15 months with 104 defences (I run three shows a week, sometimes 4 on an event week). He's #8 on the 2020 Power 500 and is the 7th most popular wrestler in the world. I think of the 3 years he's been on my roster, he's only been without the championship for about 6 months total. </p><p> </p><p> While he's probably not the best guy on my roster after my past two years of hoarding talent, he's still a guy that is a pretty good figurehead and that a national company can be based around.</p>
  7. <p>Developmental Trainers</p><p> </p><p> Can I send multiple people down to my child company to train others? For instance, let's say I have several wrestlers in their late 30s, each of whom is still popular and can still go at a level that would benefit a smaller company, but they aren't going to be difference makers for me. Could I just send them all down to train others in my developmental territory, or are they just going to step on each others toes down there?</p>

  9. <p>Avalanche Wrestling Group</p><p> </p><p> Could I get a logo for Avalanche Wrestling Group? In my head, I see a mountain as the main focus of the logo, but I'm not picky. If it helps, the company is European, so I imagined it being based in the Alps or something.</p>

Actually, I bought BCG only a year and a half into my save. SAISHO died in March of 2019, about 15 months after I bought the company to erase their debt and then ended the development relationship with them and let them be independent again. </p><p> </p><p> So far, the rest of the companies seem to be doing ok. PGHW went through a rough spell back around the the beginning of... 2018, I think. They looked like they were going to fold, but they've since regained their place at the top of the Japanese rankings.</p>
  11. An unhappy locker room So, I wrote a couple of days ago about how I implemented drug testing after Ranger showed up to a show high on painkillers. Right after I sent him to rehab, I decided to start testing my people. Matty Faith and Storm Spillane were immediately dinged and given a one month suspension. The locker room morale immediately took the first big hit in my years as an owner, dropping from the perennial 100% to 87%. This was all towards the end of July. Since then, things have only gotten worse. Matty Faith served his suspension, came back and was hit with a violation for the same thing his first match back. When he did the same thing a month after that, I fired him. Three strikes and you're out. He now hates me, which is kind of depressing after the work I put into him throughout the first half of the year. Storm Spillane has come back and has been good so far. However, Elliot Thomas, a main eventer that hasn't really been a major focus for the past few years, started becoming a very negative influence. He had a couple backstage issues and I got tired of him. I fired him and he sued me. I ended up having to pay him approximately $360K. He's now been blacklisted. At the same time, I've got people that have started breaking lesser rules. Bring friends backstage, showing up late. One of the larger incidents was when Heroe, who was in holding one of the tag team titles, started a fight and beat up Bullseye. He was fired as well, which led to a vacated reign in my title history. Anyway, I'm apparently horrible at dealing with these incidents because I'm now mildly feared by my roster and several of them dislike or have tension with me. Last night, at our Saturday night show which is generally devoted to tag team wrestling, Nate DeMarcus was injured. Herniated spinal disc, which initially meant he'd be out for over 11 months. After surgery, that's down to 3 months. Unfortunately, after the show, I also found out from testing that he's abusing painkillers, so he'll be in rehab for the next five months. I've run my locker room pretty well for three and a half years, but the past couple months have been rough. I feel like I'm dealing with a bunch of children who can't get along or follow the rules. I mean, come on, I've been a nice owner. I pay for travel and hotels. I provide a masseuse, chiropractor, and catering backstage. All I ask, is that my guys show up ready to work and stay away from drugs, smoking, and drinking. Hell, I've even removed the rule about not bring people backstage. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how long it's going to take to turn all of this around. It seems like everything is just slowly spiraling downward, which sucks, because the company was doing great. We just got big national coverage and I thought we'd be able to make the company national pretty soon and expand our reach in Canada, Mexico, and Japan. Sadly, it looks like those goals are going to take a backseat to getting the locker room morale back in order.

Seemed like for a while, about once a month some girl was quitting SNP because he groped her or did the camera in the locker room or something. Definitely not someone I'll be hiring. At some point, I may try to start running in Scotland just to drive him out of business.</p>
  13. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Temes1066" data-cite="Temes1066" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Matty Faith is on steroids, damn I guess I will have to redraw some of my plans for my SWF game.</div></blockquote><p> Test him in your game. I've heard of other guys in other game being an issue while I've never had a problem with them in my game. Every world's a bit different. Give him a test and then make your plans.</p>
  14. <p>GD steroids</p><p> </p><p> So, in CZCW, I've been pushing Matty Faith and Ranger as tag team champions for couple months. It's August and they've held the belts for since May, but have only had 18 defenses (I run 3 shows a week) due to Ranger breaking his arm in June and being out for around 35 days. </p><p> </p><p> Ranger came back and since then, everything had been good. In week 2 of August, I have the Coastal Zone Grand Prix starting up, a three week tournament (one night each Monday the last three weeks of August) for my main event and upper midcarders. </p><p> </p><p> Unfortunately, Ranger shows up to Night One of the tournament dosed on pain killers and I have to send him home. I shoot him to rehab, so he's out for the next three months. Since I hate vacating titles, but can't do anything with Ranger, I decide to have The Perez Brothers beat Matty Faith and a replacement, Bradford Peverell for the belts. Unfortunately, this erases Ranger's run with the belt in the history books, but screw it; Ranger made his bed.</p><p> </p><p> So, the next day, I'm thinking "Man, I'd hate to get caught out like that again, I should run some comprehensive drug testing on the entire locker room. I've got the cash for it." In addition to Storm Spillane, who's on steroids, God damn Matty Faith gets his ass popped for being juiced. So now, my team that I've been trying to push to the moon (these guys were jobbers when I started with them) are both a couple of junkies. In addition, I had literally just started a storyline for Matty Faith about two shows ago. He was going to feud with Al Coleman. Well, that plan is out the window. I'm going to try and salvage it by having Faith's mentor, Bulldozer Brandon Smith stand in for him for the next 4 weeks until Faith gets back. We'll see if that holds or if I have to end it prematurely. </p><p> </p><p> Anyway, in the past week or two, I've also had some preaching from Cali Slick (who I'm really getting tired of due to his politicking), Babau being selfish, and Elliot Thomas making fun of Bullseye's push. Now, combined with these pops for drugs, my carefully maintained 100% locker room morale, which I've kept for over three and a half years, is sitting at 86%. One of my main tag teams is out for at least three months. Oh, and my cat scratched a nice 4 inch cut in my arm because a dog scared him tonight. Tonight has not been a good night for the owner of Coastal Zone Championship Wrestling.</p>
  15. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Winter8905" data-cite="Winter8905" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Edit... wtf is going on SWF have bought out NOTBW and disbanded them <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> releasing their roster. Two massive companies gone</p><p> </p><p> Pittsburgh Championship Wrestling went out of buisness too. Unsure i SWF bought them out too. </p><p> </p><p> I bought out MAW and GSW as Devs to stop them going out of business too.</p><p> </p><p> June 18 has seen 3 companies be disbanded or go bankrupt.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I've had a similar experience while running CZCW. Seem like a lot of people are going under. It's currently July 2019 for me. So far, BCG (7-2017; I bought them), ACPW (7-2017), PSW (9-2017), MAW (10-2017), GCG (10-2018), GSW (1-2019), HIW (1-2019 after founding in 8-2016), SAISHO (3-2019, which was irritating after I bought their debt about 15 months earlier and then released them to be their own company again). </p><p> </p><p> Anyway, that's 8 companies I've had go under in 3 and a half years, one of which wasn't even in the game at the start. In addition, I've received noticed that at the very least NOTBPW and PGHW were circling the drain in the past (fairly recently for NOTBPW, but PGHW seems to have regained some steam lately). Luckily, I've had 5 new companies start that haven't gone under yet, so the game seems to be trying to keep it even.</p>
  16. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="phoxy" data-cite="phoxy" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41194" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I would think it would depend on whether or not the events are making enough to offset their additional costs, and if you think its worth it. Also, it's another weekly show to book, which can be tedious.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Oh it definitely offsets the cost. Right now my tv show is purely for expanding into markets that aren't covered by the Red de la Lucha deal (Mexico, PR, Mid South, and South West). So, my tv show loses me money every Friday since I'm trying to build popularity in regions that are either F or E level. However, I've still got the weekly Tuesday event that's sort of a catch-all and another weekly event on Saturdays that is purely for tag teams. Overall, I'm making a little over a million in profit each month, though it bounces around depending on whether I sign a new worker or build a new venue or something. These are both in addition to the pre-existing annual events each month. </p><p> </p><p> You're right though, it does get tedious sometimes when I'm engaged in a bidding war for one of my top stars and I have to wade through 3 nights of match-making in less than half a week.</p>
  17. <p>Events vs Shows</p><p> </p><p> Back when I first started, I wasn't popular enough for any broadcasters to be interested in me, so I started running a weekly event in addition to my monthly event. Now, I've also got a tv show on another day of the week. Is there any reason not to keep my weekly event running? I feel like it violates the logic of the world to have more than a few events running each month, but I don't think it breaks anything. Anyone have any thoughts on this?</p>
  18. <p>Raising popularity</p><p> </p><p> I'm currently cult in the US and have two regions that are B-, 2 Ds, and then the rest is all E/F rating. Is it better to focus on raising popularity in one region at a time? For instance, right now, I'm running a show in Great Lakes once a week until I hit a suitable point to move to another region, but I'm not sure if it would be better to raise them all together. So, a show in Great Lakes, then a show in South East, etc.</p>
  19. <p>Sept 2017 - CZCW</p><p> </p><p> So, I probably have way too many wrestlers, but this is my first run, so I'm not really sure. I've been steadily signing more guys as I've worked my way up from regional to cult and now CZCW is ranked 12th in the world, while I'm 25th financially with $278K (coming back from about -300K after purchasing Black Canvas Grappling and pillaging it). </p><p> </p><p> In terms of titles, Ernest Youngman is currently the Coastal Zone Champion after beating Bradford Peverell back in June (it's now Wk 3 of September). He's had 21 defenses of this title and won it almost immediately after dropping the CZ Xtreme Champion, a title which he had held since March and defended 25 times. So on the whole, Youngman's been a dominant champion over the past few months and has continued the strong push I've given him since hiring him in January of 2016. The only time he hasn't really had a big push was from December 2016-March 2017 when he had a back injury that sidelined him. Ultimately, he's a pretty viable main eventer for the company and he's still only 24. </p><p> </p><p> Meanwhile, Bulldozer Brandon Smith is coming up on 2 months of his Coastal Zone Xtreme Championship reign. He was signed in January of 2016 and then half-pushed until April when he had a major concussion that took him out of action for around 13-14 months. Now that he's back, I put him over Cali Slick and he's been working his way up the card. I think he was a midcarder when he won the championship and after a few more signings and some extra momentum, he's currently a main eventer. However, while the CZX title is a floater, I prefer to let midcard or upper midcard guys hold it while they work their way up the card, so he may be nearing the end of his run. I just need to figure out who to push next, especially as he seems protective of his momentum, so losing the championship to anyone too far beneath him might prove tricky.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The current tag champs are Mystic Excess, the team of El Mitico Jr and Damon Excess (the former Duberry Excess; I couldn't handle that name). They have excellent chemistry and have now been champs since the middle of June. El Mitico Jr is also the most recent winner of the Black Canvas Grand Prix, a slightly renamed tournament title which is the only title I didn't retire after pillaging BCG. The Grand Prix is now defended in August instead of April. </p><p> </p><p> The company is currently is good shape, though the past couple months have been a bit rocky. Right after graduating to Cult status around May, I took over and disbanded BCG, taking some of their workers as well. However, almost immediately, Sofu Ozawa showed up high on painkillers and was promptly fired. Very reminiscent, of when Texas Pete showed up drunk in Feb 2016 (though at the time, that dickbag was my CZ Champion and ended up meaning the title was vacated when I fired him). In addition, mainstay Al Coleman, who has had disciplinary issues in the past, finally walked out on me after his morale got too low. It also disbanded his team with Air Attack Weasel. </p><p> </p><p> Rounding out my roster, I'm currently trying to push Acid II and Stuntman as a tag team, possibly as well as Ant-Man/Topher Smith and Moroi/Badau. On the singles side, I'm trying to get El Jaguar, Ross Henry, and Silver Tiger over. of the really good performers on my roster, most of the others are already UM or ME, including Air Attack Weasel, Bradford Peverell, Marvel Malloy (Storm Spillane signed on to tour with PGHW a few months ago), California Love Machine, Frankie Boy Fernandes, Jake Idol and Jackpot Jordan. Fox Mask is also pretty over, but I don't have any real urge to push him, and while Donnie J can still work in angles, his match work is in the D territory. Donnie's contract is up in 2 and a half months and I don't know whether I'll resign him. He's a locker room leader and has multiple relationships within the company, but he's useless as far as matches go at this point. </p><p> </p><p> Outside the company, I haven't been paying a ton of attention, but I have noticed that PGHW and Golden Canvas Grappling are both pretty close to bankruptcy. Each is almost $4M in debt and if either goes kaput instead of being bought, I should be able to rehire some prior workers (Storm Spillane and Frankie Perez/Kill Switch, respectively). I've considered buying them myself, but going $7M in the hole just to retire some titles and gain three more workers is a bit too much. The revenge would be nice, but I can't do it. If both companies die, though, that'll be 3 Japanese companies down in the space of two years. It's interesting, though. PGHW was, for quite a while, the most influential company in my world. Whatever took them down, though, now has them at 5th most influential, right behind CZCW. They're still 6th in terms of importance. </p><p> </p><p> To close out my post, I'll give you the current state of my competitors within the US. USPW and SWF are 1 and 2, both national. TCW is a step above me, at number 3, but they are also cult-sized. (The order of entries in both national and cult brackets is reversed for influence, so I'm number 3 in the US there, and SWF is winning overall). The only two regional promotions are QAW and AAA, respectively. On the whole, it seems like SWF and USPW will continue to fight for national recognition, with TCW ocassionally entering the mix. I'm too small to still go head to head with them, and probably will be until I get a better tv deal (currently Canal Dos in the late evenings). However, while I can't fight the big dogs, the regional promotions can't match me, so I'm sort of in my own league right now. I'll keep running my monthly events on the first Monday, weekly events on Tuesdays, and tv show on Fridays and hope that the tv coverage will get me to a point where I can get a better deal and start really competing.</p>
