Firstly, Mr. Perfect can you confirm this is the case and secondly can you explain why you are willing to make such a sacrifice when there are doubts that Ric Flair will do the same?

Mr. Perfect

Mean Gene, it's as simple as this. Ric Flair is a name that carries a lot of weight in the wrestling world, the WWF is a professional company, it doesn't like to stick it's nose in other people's business and it doesn't see the need to mention the success of other companies within our industry abut even they must admit, without a shadow of a doubt, that without Ric Flair, those other companies would not have been the ame and the fact that he's now here? Taking shots at me? Taking his frustrations out against me? That's no laughing matter. That's not something I can shrug off. Even in this day and age and in this company? A victory over Ric Flair? That means something, that is important and with one hundred percent of my focus, one hundred percent of my concentration, one hundred percent of my training aimed towards taking on Ric Flair at The Royal Rumble? I won't need to take part in the Royal Rumble if it means getting Ric Flair

Mean Gene

So if I'm understanding you correctly you're saying that a win over Ric Flair at the Rumble would put you in the same conversations that people would have about whoever wins the Rumble?

Mr. Perfect

That's exactly what I'm saying Gene. Beating a man like Ric Flair is no easy task and the fact of the matter is, if there are such a thing as stepping stones in this industry? Then he is, without a shadow of a doubt the biggest stepping stone that anybody could use to elevate themselves in this industry. For far too long, I've been the back seat, waiting and watching as other's take me over on the road to success...well now? It's my turn and it begins at The Royal Rumble and it begins...with defeating the one and only Ric Flair and I assure you Gene?> My victory over Flair? Will be ABSOLUTELY...PERFECT!

Rated: 69

Yokozuna Vs. I just came back from the office of Jack Tunny and we had a good talk, I put forward my case, I put forward my concerns, that Bam Bam would be a coward, that Bam Bam might get himself counted out or disqualified! I made it CLEAR TO JACK TUNNEY! I WANT YOU TO HAVE NOWHERE TO RUN TO BAM BAM and you know somethin'? That's exactly what I got! You can try to run at Rumble if you want Bam Bam, run to the crowds, run to the back, run to the streets if you want it won't matter! Because not only are count outs not in effect, not only is disqualification not in effect...but justice will be delivered to you in the harshest, toughest way I can deliver it my friend. Jack Tunney's confirmed it himself Bam Bam! There's no fighting it! You and me? WE'RE PUTTING AN END TO THIS IN A STREET FIGHT! The fans are in anticipation, expecting to see these official matters quickly devolve into absolute chaos, as Tunney welcomes us to the occasion...

WWF President Jack Tunney

Ladies and Gentlemen it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this occasion, where as WWF President I am here to oversee the signing of the contract that will make the WWF Championship match at the Royal Rumble official! Both men have already signed no compete clauses which means that until their match they are now no longer allowed to lay a hand on one another and will ensure that this occasions goes off smoothly and without provocation! As part of the event here tonight, both men will be given one final opportunity to say their piece to their opponent before signing the contract for The Royal Rumble event! We will begin with the man who earned the right to become the number one contender at the very first edition of Monday Night Raw, Lex Luger!

Lex Luger

Thanks Jack...what can I say Bret? Or I guess I should ask, what do you want me to say? You want me to say I respect you? What you've done as champion so far? The way you carry yourself? I know you love to hear it Bret. They call you the most fightingest champion this company has ever seen. But you know? I just don't see it. I see you as the luckiest champion that this company has ever had. All those faces of the older generation stepping away one after another, without ever really putting up a fight and you? You just happen to step in at the right time, at the right place and get your hands on what should be the most prestigious championship this company has! But looking at it? Looking at you? I see no honor, I see no prestige, I see desperation. Desperation on the part of this company to show their fans that they still have a champion! They're still worth watching! They're still able to keep their finger on the pulse! And yet? Have you seen the ratings Bret? Have you seen the reviews? Monday Night Raw hasn;t exactly gotten off to the hottest start! The WWF hasn't gotten off to a great year so far in 1993 and honestly is anybody shocked? All the legends, all the heroes, all he titans of the eighties left and they left without having to put up a fight against the likes of you and honestly? I'm not shocked! They shouldn't have had to put up a fight against you, they didn't need to, you aren't worth their time! And whilst I commend the WWF for holding on for dear life, clinging to whatever wrestlers they could that could give them even the slightest ounce of credibility! There's a reason they signed me...there's a reason they reached out to me, to bring me in, to make me a part of their company. Take a look at me Bret! Take a good long look at the SPECIMEN sitting before you! Do I remind you of anything? Of anybody? I should. What you are looking at, is excellence, physical excellence...the kind of physical excellence that used to dominate this company, it used to be everywhere you looked while little twigs like you lingered in the background where they belonged. I'm here, because this company needs to be legitimate again, it needs men like that agn and while they don't want to say it your face, while they don't want to hurt your feelings? I think you and I both know that is EXACTLY why I am here. So that I can take belt off of your shoulders and bring some god damn legitimacy back into this company!

Luger reaches over, smirking at Bret as he signs the contract, he throws his pen down on the table, sits back, folds his arms, and waits as Jack Tunney looks to analyze and evaluate to make sure the contract has been signed by Luger appropraitely

WWF President Jack Tunney

Okay...as WWF President I don't think I fully agree with your analysis there but you have your right to your opinion, now for our WWF Champion. Bret, do you have a response?

Bret "The Hitman" Hart

I do. You ask me if you remind me of the athletes that used to rule the WWF locker room? Oh absolutely you do and you sound just as much of a broken record as they did! Talking about your impressive muscles that I'm sure you worked so hard to achieve and to maintain. You would have fit right in with them I am sure about that and that makes me ever more thankful that they are not here, they're not here to have your back, to pull you into their circle, to do you favors while they leave the rest of us who were working our asses off night in and night out just to get recognized! Do you remind me of them? Oh you have no idea. Look at you! You haven't even been here for a cup of coffee yet, you're already the number one contender and already you're acting like you're the cock of the walk, like you'll have some influence and some sway in the direction this company will go! You want to know why I managed to get my hands on this belt? Because for so long, I fought and I wrestled and I trained and I kept my mouth shut for the most part while other complained because people just like you couldn't help but make sure the spotlight stayed aimed on them again and again and again...and despite all that? I showed up. I did my job. I did it well. I did it better than anybody else in this business. I fought my way to getting this belt, through blood, sweat, tears and politics and if you think for a second that I'm going to let all that hard work, all that struggle, all that effort fgo to waste just to see some pumped up musclehead try and be the face of this company again than Lex I'm afraid you have another thing coming! I don't know if you've heard lately, so let me remind you. This is a NEW GENERATION! Did this used to be the land of the giants, you bet your ass it did and all those giants packed their bags, went home and did it without having a fight because they were scared that people like me might beat them and show the world what they really were! You might not be Hulk Hogan, as desperately as you clearly want to be...but god I've got to admit, I'm going to imagine that you are, so that when I have you locked in ther sharpshooter, your screams of pain are going to sound so much sweeter! Your a new dog, trying to show off old tricks and let me be the first to say. I'm not impressed. I've seen it all before and honestly? I wasn;t that impressed back then either. Your time has already come and gone. It's a new generation...and you're not part of it...but hey, you want to come as some representative of what the old era used to be? You want t0o come and try and carry that torch for them? Be my guest. It'll my absolute pleasure to show you exactly why it is I am the WWF Champion. Because I am, what I say I am. The best there is, the best there was...and the best there ever will be!

Bret signs the contract and immediately Lex rises to his feet, Bret jumps up and hands the contract to Tunney, wiping the table clean. He keeps his sunglasses on as he motions for Luger to take a shot. Tunney steps in and issues warnings to both men, trying to keep them seperated. You can see officials starting to gether and enter the ring, already looking prepared to pull the two apart in the event a brawl breaks out. Bret just smirks and walks away, leaving Luger standing, angered and frustrated and leaving the fans waiting for the Royal Rumble...

Rated: 74

Final Rating: 62

 8. Currently away from my normal computer. My plan is normally after each PPV to release a report. Covering notable news from the company. Releases. Signings. Some kayfabe stuff. Seeing as right now I can't write the go home Raw. Here's a report to help hype up the rumble and do what I was going to do after the Rumble anyways instead. ROYAL RUMBLE REPORT Ric Flair Re-Signs With WWF The status of Ric Flair in WWF was tenuous at best at the beginning of January and there were many rumours the company had signed off any hopes of keeping hold of the nature boy. However multiple meetings are reported to have happened with Flair and WWF management. Firstly to help ease any tensions and secondly to actually get negotiations started. Whilst no exact figures have been confirmed. It is safe to say that WWF paid a decent chunk of money just to bring Ric to the table before presenting him a contract. If it were any other wrestler. One wonders if the company would have gone to these lengths. This was not any other wrestler however and with the company needing big names right now. It's hard to argue against keeping Ric Flair. Addition To The Commentary Changes to the commentary team have been confirmed but not until Wrestlemania at the least. One of WWF's latest non wrestling acquisitions is play by play man, Jim Ross. Ross is an experienced announcer with time in Mid South and WCW under his belt. It has been confirmed by the company that the plan right now will be to add Jim Ross to the commentary team for WWF Events. Joining Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. The change will not happen officially however for "story purposes" until Wrestlemania IX. As Randy Savage has already been slated to join Monsoon and Heenan to commentate the Royal Rumble. Women In The Dark Amongst the signings the WWF has made, a few women have been brought in with the hopes to start building a division. Women's wrestling has not really been featured in the company since the eighties and the fans are now used to women as valets and managers rather than in ring talent. For now the company will be testing their female talent in dark matches, to measure fan reactions and establish where to position female matches on the card in the future when a woman's division can be properly featured on television. Confirmed for the Royal Rumble Whilst some spots in the Royal Rumble help give some on the roster a chance to appear on a big show. This year's Royal Rumble is a first for WWF. The winner of this year's rumble will go on to face the WWF Champion at Wrestlemania. So while some spots that have been filled in the Rumble are honestly, just to fill a spot. Big names such as The Undertaker, Yokozuna, Razor Ramon and to an extent Rick Martel who, while we can say with some confidence Martel probably won't be giving a good showing. It seems the company wants to try and give Martel a new push and a good showing in the Rumble is a good way to do it. There is also the fact to mention that the company is teasing a "Big return" for a former face from the company. Some have speculated this to be Hulk Hogan. However the company denies the Hulkster will return at the Rumble. Stating that the star is still on hiatus, what they do confirm is that it is someone from that era. Someone who we imagine could be used to help fuel the youth movement currently in place.

I'm joined by one of my fellow broadcast partners, Rob Bartlett. Now folks, you may be wondering where my other broadcast partner RANDY SAVAGE is, well he's currently in the backstage area, about to have a meeting with none other than the WWF President, Jack Tunney!

Rob Bartlett

Yeah that's right Vince, last week that Heartbreak PUNK Shawn Michaels delivered a couple cheap shots, both verbally and physically to the Macho Man and he's lookin' for justice! He'll be back with us soon on the table tonight folks don't you worry!

Vince McMahon

That's right, now in terms of our action tonight, something to look forward to The Nature Boy Ric Flair in action against Brutus Beefcake. Now in case you missed it last week ladies and gentlemen, Flair interfered in Mr. Perfect's match last week against El Matador and our man on the scene, Mean Gene Okerlund will be looking to get some answers from him tonight!

Rob Bartlett

Speakin' of answers Vince, Big Bossman is lookin' for answers and he's lookin' for justice after Bam Bam Bigelow delivered a shot in their match with Bossman's own nightstick! And speakin' of that beatnick Shawn Michaels earlier, he's in a non title match against Crush tonight and after what he did to Macho Man? I hope that HBK gets CRUSHED tonight

Vince McMahon

And of course there's our main event, more non title action as our WWF Champion faces off against Damien Demento! With Lex Luger crowned the new number one contender, a win is a necessity for the champion here tonight! All that and more to look forward to tonight on Monday Night Raw. It's UNCOOKED!

Rob Bartlett

UNCENSORED!

Vince McMahon

AND UNCUT!

My Hands Are Tied...

<img alt="m5ok6t5.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/m5ok6t5.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="bFq7W1d.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bFq7W1d.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

We go backstage to the office of the President for WWF Operations, Jack Tunney who is sat behind his desk as a flustered, red faced and frustrated Macho Man Randy Savage slams his hands on the desk, it seems we had joined the two in mid conversation and things aren't looking good for the Macho Man as they are discussing the events that transpired last week with Shawn Michaels

Randy Savage

WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY CONTRACT WON'T ALLOW IT! I WON'T ACCEPT THAT! Come on Tunney! You saw what he did last week! You saw how he embarrassed me! You saw how he and Sherri ATTACKED ME! I CAN'T LET IT STAND! I REFUSE TO LET IT STAND!

WWF President Jack Tunney

Randy I understand your frustrations! And I assure you there will be consequences for what Shawn did to you last week...But please you have to understand that legally speaking my hands are tied! Once you joined the commentary team your contract had to be adjusted to a non competitive status! Right now I can't allow you to get into a ring again without facing sports commissions and despite what happened to you last week? They do things by the book Randy, no exceptions. That means fines for the WWF if you compete under this contract. That means legal action that we just can't risk taking!

Randy Savage

SCREW YOUR LEGAL ACTION! I WANT SHAWN MICHAELS! YOU HEAR ME! I want to get my hands on him...if it's the last thing I do YEAH! And I don't care what it is I have to do to make it happen! Now come on Jack, there must be some strings you can pull!

WWF President Jack Tunney

Randy, the only way I can currently allow you to compete in a WWF Ring is by organising a waiver. It will remove WWF of any responsibility and legal obligation to treat you as a member of our non wrestling staff. I can get that organised but...

Randy Savage

GET THE PAPERWORK TUNNEY! I'LL SIGN IT RIGHT NOW!

WWF President Jack Tunney

Randy it isn't that simple. In order to book you in your return match, I'll need your competitot to sign the waiver as well to prove they accept the match. That mean you would need to get Shawn Michaels to agree to the match as well...

Randy falls silent in what is a rare moment for him as the realisation dawns on him of the rock and the hard place that Shawn Michaels has gotten him stuck in. It's a tough man compeitition it seems as both The Headshrinkers and Bushwhackers are able to fend off each others blows and stay stood when normal men would easily falter and fall. The surprising fast pace of the Headshrinkers would be what managed togive them the upperhand as combined with their strong style it made for a deadly combination and was what got them the upper hand in the end against the Bushwhackers. I've got words for Bam Bam and when I have my way? You can bet I've got some hard times in store for him too! Bam Bam! I hope you're listening brother because there's a special place in my books reserved for cowards like you! You couldn't get the job done last week against me and you refused to face it! That's what that attack was all about! You tried and you tried and credit to you for that but you couldn't get the pin and instead of continuing the fight like a man! You took a cheap shot like a coward...not only that, but you did it with my very own nightstick! I want you to know Bam Bam, I'm lookin' for a rematch. Bossman doesn't take no easy wins. I won by disqualification? Big deal. I was flat on the mat, I was knocked out! I was humiliated! I don't call that a victory and certainly not against trash like you! I'm askin' for a rematch Bam Bam, name the time, name the place and I'll come runnin to make things right. Acting far higher and far mightier than he actually was, especially against the likes of Cursh. It wasn't long before Crush put an end to Shawn's boyish antics. Grabbing the Heartbreak Kid by the hair and driving him down into the mat with an overpowering lariat. After that, Shawn quickly became all business, as just last week he was claiming there was nobody who could pose a challenging threat to his status as the Intercontinental Champion. Suddenly, Shawn turned from cocky to outright cowardly, devolving into dirty tactics. Taking cheap shts whenever he could to give him little advantages throughout the match and using his manager Sherri to his advantage. Savage was begging Michaels to let him fight, to which Shawn was shaking his head. An empty gym, clearly being occupied by only the current Number One Contender in what seems to be after hours as it seems dark outside through the fans can see of the windows which are in the fraee. Our number one contender, Lex Luger is sat on a bench press. Sweating, Panting, rubbing his face with a towel. He's already been working out. With a bottle of water by his side. He takes a swig and let's out a long, almost relieved sigh. He chuckles to himself, clearly a lot on his mind, as he addresses the camera currently focused on him.

Lex Luger

Why did it have to be you Bret?

Lex rubs his chin in thought and contemplation, but clearly in a mocking, sarcastic manner as he spoke directly to the WWF Champion.

Lex Luger

After a decade of syin our prayers and eating our vitamins, the WWF was left with a huge vacuum to fill once those red and yellow boots went away for Hollywood deals. The WWF lost their great hero. Their great champion...their great attraction and in a desperate rush to fill the spot, to replace the big dog who had been running the show for the majority of the eighties. The WWF went looking for somebody, anybody who thery could try to polish up and pretend there was some semblance of prestige and pride in being the face of their company. And it just so happened that person turned out to be you...

Lex Luger

I call it luck. I call it good fortune. I call it you getting there first! Because I wasn't here yet Bret! I wasn't here when that opportunity opened up! I wasn't here when Hulk Hogan went on hiatus! I wasn't here when the WWF needed a new champion! Because I guarantee you if I was? You would never have even gotten within ten feet of that belt...

Lex Luger

It's funny. I left that other company, because I was frustrated, because I was angry, because I felt that I would get a better opportunity here in New York. With all the old dinosaurs fading into extinction. With new faces rising to the top...I knew it was the perfect opportunity for me to jump ship and to make a name for myself but if you told me back when I was in that other place that it would be this damned easy? I would never have believed you! Yet here I am, on the second ever episode of Monday Night Raw, two weeks to go until The Royal Rumble...two weeks until I change the face of this company for the better and leave you trailing in the dust where you belong!

Lex Luger

I mean look at you Bret! No offence...you're good, you're damn good but you just don't look like championship material. Our previous champion had twenty four inch pyhons and muscles that could rip through every shirt he had! You? You're nothing, you're a okaceholder, a paper champion. Someone to put down on the record so the company can at least say they tried to look legitimate while they search for a better candidate. Well now? They've found it...and it won't be too long before you find yourself back in regular territory. Wondering if you'll ever get another shot, watching bigger and better men achieve things you could only dream of!

Luger takes another swig of water, swirling it around his mouth before swallowing and letting out another sigh of relief, flashing a smug toothy grin to the camera as he flexed his muscles for any possible female fans of this egotist.

Lex Luger

I want you to take a real good look at that Belt Bret, hold on tight to it as much you can over the course of these next two weeks, take a picture if you must. Ask the WWF for as much reels of footage as they have of you with that belt...because they will be the only meories of success in this company that you'll have after I am through with you at the Royal Rumble! The excellence of execution? Well color me unimpressed! At the Roayl Rumble, I want everyone to capture the moment! Because if Bret Hart is what the WWF calls the image of excellence? Then Lex Luger will be the one who makes sure that excellence? Is executed...

Rated: 64

Bret Hart VS. Bret Hart and Demento showcased a suprising amount of competition and in ring psychology against one another. Damien's strange brutish offence played as a good counter balance to Bret's technical masterclass of mat wrestling. Bret was surprisingly cornered and taken aback by Damien's in ring performance as were the WWF fans. Although in the end, Bret came out on top as expected after taking Damien out with the Piledriver. The WWF fan base seemed to give Damien more attention as a result of this outing.

Rated:75

Final Rating: 65

 16. I was really happy with writing this, had a lot of fun, especially the HBK/Randy Savage Segment. It's a good foundation for where I want to go and for the build up to the Rumble which then of course leads into Mania. But of course, this isn;t just what the write thinks, but the readers. What were your favorite segments? What were your least favorite? Any advice for going forward? What would you like to see going forward? Anything Else?

 19. So folks, you might remember I had an American Wrestling Association Diary running on here. Unfortunately, life got in the way, and when time came for me to want to go back to it the computer I had all my TEW 2016 files on had finally given up on me. It's unfortunate but it is what it is. Who knows, maybe one day I can start it over. For now I thought I'd try something different, with a new mod that has just been released. January, 1993 Eat your vitamins and say your prayers...it's safe to say those days of wrestling are coming to an end. While Hulkamania helped raise a generation in the eighties and propel the WWF into the number one spot in American wrestling. The people who grew up on Hogan, Savage, The Ultimate Warrior..they're growing up, their tastes are changing and some of them are outright leaving wrestling behind altogether as the new decade has rolled in and thus far wrestling has failed to adapt to their tastes. With a new decade, comes a new challenge for the WWF. Whilst the competition, WCW has been going through their own troubles, WWF had at least been able to remain confident in their position for some time. That is not going to be the case for much longer. The family friendly presentation isn't working any longer, the crazy cartoon style characters aren't working and the future is unknown. With a new flagship show, Monday Night Raw set to debut it's the perfect opportunity to mould and shape a new product, with a new generation, can the WWF avoid repeating history from falling into that period that many fans refer to as "The Dark Ages"? Or are the WWF's dire straits an inevitable future they have to face before finding their attitude? Find out here as we start our NEW Generation! Slowly get rid of the cartoon characters and gimmicks which are bloating our roster, whether that means changing gimmicks of certain wrestlers when I get the chance or outright cutting people I see no need for. There's good potential on this roster but it's totally distracted by the mess that is Vince clinging on the his eighties philosophy. 2. Use the older talent I have to actually help establish the New Generation. Whilst backstage politics still may play a part (this is a new mod afterall, I don't know who has creative control yet or not). My hope is to use the likes of Hogan, Savage and even Flair to some extent to put over our younger talent and help establish the New Generation stars as ACTUAL stars. The failure on WWF's part to do that I feel, is what helped contribute to "The Dark Ages" 3. We don't NEED a new Hogan. Putting faith in one star to be the backbone of the roster never made sense to me. There should be multiple stars, who can step in at any moment if the top guy gets injured, walks away, gets poached. If the Attitude Era could have two top guys, I don't know why the New Generation can't 4. Have fun. Whatever happens, whatever ratings I get. I just want to book my way, interact with the readers and have fun.
 20. Why a mod in 1993? The reasons for wanting to make a mod set in 1993 is as follows 1. It's a challenging time for wrestling as a whole. Often referred to as The Dark Ages of wrestling by fans, not only is WWF struggling as the era of Hulkamania is coming to an end and a lack of future stars have been built. But WCW is faring no better. Wrestling in America is facing a down period at this point and it gives players ample opportunity to take the reigns of a company and try to make their own landscape from it. 2. The very first episode of Monday Night Raw airs in 1993. I thought it would be a cool opportunity for anybody who wanted to do a WWF game to book literally from the very first episode of Raw. 3. The New Generation could have been a fast paced, athletic and technical masterclass of wrestling, if it weren't for the horrid gimmicks and clutching on to the style of the eighties. Who knows how the New Generation could have gone? Now you can try and find out for yourself. My Process. I'm going to focus on the most notable companies that ran shows during this period and making sure I get their rosters as historically correct as I can. I may end up not including every company that was actually running as a result in the beta period of this mod once it is released but I want to focus on the companies I can find the most information on first. Once the mod is released as a BETA I would happily take any and all forms of feedback and criticism to apply changes and make improvements until working towards a final release that everybody can enjoy. What I'm Asking You Any assistance that can be provided in my research phase as I fill up rosters would be immensely appreciated.

Rod Trongard here joines as always by my colleagues Jim Ross and Gene Okerlund! Gentlemen, the Number One Contender Tournament continues!

J.R.

That it does Rod! It's official! Nick Bockwinkel will be having a bye this month as we direct our attention to crowning an official Contender! That doesn't mean Bockwinkel will be left wandering though folks, apparently AWA management are discussing a role for Bockwinkel that will be revealed next week once contracts have been signed and sealed!

Okerlund

Also tonight...Jerry Lawler's so called "Open" Challenge continues! The King announced his weekly challenge last week and when a viabke contender approached him in the form of Curt Hennig? Lawler tucked his tail between his legs and instead decided to face an opponent he had already hand picked himself!

J.R.

It seems as if the King's opponent has already been decided tonight as well Gene, so Lawler's Challenge seems to be open in title only, that being said Curt Hennig has an opportunity to prove himself here tonight, against an opponent of Lawler's choosing.

Trongard

And of course, our main event of the evening, Hulk Hogan will square off against Jerry Blackwell. Hogan laid down a challenge towards Jerry Blackwell last week after questions rose on Hogan's place in this tournament. However if you'll remember it was Rick Martel who actually suffered at the hands of Blackwell. Folks we have reached out to Martel but he has refused to comment, simply stating "Blackwell will hear from me personally." What that means? Your guess is as good as mine, join us tonight and you might just find out. It's All Star Wrestling!

Bobby Duncum Vs. Gentlemen...two weeks, two assaults against yourselves by these mystery men, last week our audience actually got to lay our eyes on them for the first time, albeit they were hidden under masks. Gagne? How exactly have you and Jim been handing this these past couple of weeks?

Gagne

You know what Mean Gene? Our back's have been against every wall...our eyes have been looking around every corner, we've had AWA management offer us escorts to our cars because even they aren't sure who it is that's been attacking us these past two weeks. Needless to say these past two weeks have put us on edge and needless to say that these two thugs have been attacking us as a way to get to our AWA Tag Team Championships...Well Gene, the fans should know...The High Flyers are ready and willing to defend their championships as and when a challenger comes along and if these assassins want to start acting like MEN and actually make themselves known...then once this business with the Contender Royale is over, then we will be happy to defend those belts. But right now? There's an opportunity still lingering in the air, unfortunately Gene, the dirty tactics of Jesse Ventura allowed him to go through. Well there's still an opportunity on the table for me...and we're aware that these two assassins may want to try and ruin that.

Okerlund

So with that possibility up in the air, people are wondering if we will see similar imagery to that we have seen the previous two weeks and that perhaps...your opportunity Greg, to get into the Battle Royale might end up being stolen away from you!

Brunzell

We're gonna' make sure it doesn't happen again next week Mean Gene! Enough is enough! You hear that boys? Whoever you are, wherever you may be...if you want to get to Greg next week when he's wrestling for his opportunity? You're going to have to get ready to face both of us, because I'm going to be right there at ringside, ready to fight you off! I think I found just the man for you and when I did?! Why I had to rush to be his advocate for AWA management straight away! Thanks to me...this man now has an AWA contract, thanks to me...this man can now be considered a member of the AWA roster and thanks to me...this man will see a very...lucrative future ahead of him and it all starts, once he's taken care of YOU Curt! Once the bell rings, it's clear that Borne has the upper hand in terms of strength. Sending Hennig tumbling head over heels on multiple lock ups, pushing and tossing him around like a rag doll. The resilient Hennig however would refuse to stay down and fight back. It was a tremendous showing of willpower and defiance on the part of Curt Hennig. Using the support of the fans to power and energise him in his efforts. After a comeback from Hennig and the slightest chance of him overcoming Borne suddenly showed up, Lawler would intervene and yank at Hennig's foot, tripping him up as the youngster hit the ropes and providing Borne with the ultimate opportunity to take advantage, using a move out Jerry Lawler's play book, the Piledriver to pick up the victory.

Rating: C+

After The Match...

<img alt="h2Cmt2o.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h2Cmt2o.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="lL8nE8V.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/lL8nE8V.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="CIW4yQq.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/CIW4yQq.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Lawler and Borne unleash an assault on Curt. Hogan was obvious, he's not as white hot as he is destined to become so hopefully we can use him to help grow our company and potentially nab him into a long term contract. The focus was also on the Hennig and Lawler Storyline. With the introduction of Matt Borne my hope is that this food will help establish two younger stars by surrounding them with Jerry Lawler and his championship. Happy with the grade considering I didn't really rely on the top names like Bockwinkel to lift the rating. Good sign of the potential our future could have. Still boosted AWA's pop in each region it's being viewed in so, good job overall.

Last week, I won the vacant AWA Television Championship and I am so confident in m victory, so confident in my ability to be the greatest Champion on AWA Television to date, that I am ready and willing to defend this belt every single week on television to any and all who think they are ready to challenge me!

Lawler is cut off before he can continue, as the fans cheer at the arrival of one of their favorites on the ramp...

<img alt="CIW4yQq.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/CIW4yQq.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

It's Curt Hennig, the young up and comer, the son of former AWA wrestler Larry Hennig, a possible future superstar within the company. The young rising star has a microphone in his hand, staring Lawler down from the stage entrance

Curt Hennig

Lawler...I think I speak for everybody in attendance today when I say the idea of having you come out every week on television sounds like an absolute nightmare! You come out here and you flaunt yourself as if you are the walking image of perfection. You claim to be The King of professional wrestling? Well take a good look Lawler, because I am ready and willing to put an early end to your reign!

Hennig is walking towards Lawler as he speaks, the crowd cheering at the idea of these two facing off, as Hennig enters the ring the audience hits a fever pitch as the two step face to face. Lawler hesitates a moment, before shooting a smirk and preparing himself to respond.

Jerry "The King" Lawler

You know something kid? I have to admire your nerve and your bravery, you had the guts to come out here and do what most men couldn't...but I hate to break it to you kid, but somebody had already beaten you to the punch. You see? With this being the first week of my open challenge? I had already discussed and organised a match beforehand with AWA management and we came to the conclusion of somebody who is...worthy of my time...

By the sounds of it Lawler is just coming up with excuses, and that this open challenge is not quite as "open" as it was initially advertised. However before Hennig has the time to interject, Jerry Lawler jumps back in...

Jerry "The King" Lawler

But let it be known! I am a fair and just king and champion...I'll tell you what I'll do Curt. I'll give you a shot at my television championship...if...and only if you can defeat an opponent of my choosing next week on All Star Wrestling! You win? I promise you. I give you my word, you'll get a shot at my championship. You fail? Then you'll have to go to the back of the line and wait your turn! But I suggest you sit and take notes with the rest of these peasants and watch how a CHAMPION wrestles, because my first contender is waiting for his match!

Hennig nods as the two men continue to stare one another down. He slowly makes his way out of the ring, pointing towards Lawler and mouthing the words "You better be ready..."

Rating: B-

AWA Television Championship

Jerry Lawler Vs......Jake Milliman?!

<img alt="h2Cmt2o.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h2Cmt2o.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="k736OYA.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/k736OYA.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

To say the fans were surprised at the sight of Jake Milliman was an understatement.
