  1. The effect seems to vary from wrestler to wrestler, but it seems to be too sharp for some. I simmed 10 years in a 1997 mod.

These skills seem to vary too much due to age:

    - Primary Skills (all)

    - Performance Skills (Star Quality, Sex Appeal)

    - Fundamental Skills (Selling, Consistency)

    - Physical Abilities (all)

These skills don't seem to vary enough due to age:

    - Performance Skills (Charisma, Microphone, Acting)

    Some examples:

  2. And the bigger the company, the more overpowered it should be to be in keeping with realism.

When we break down "merchandise" into "unit cost", say that the price of a t-shirt is $25. Anybody who has ever had a t-shirt made for a club, fraternity, family reunion, etc., will tell you that there is an initial design cost (which varies depending on the company you're working with and what you want them to do) plus your materials costs. Figure that design cost is mainly mitigated (or much lower) for a big company/sports team/corporation, so what you're paying for is materials. So, say there's a basic unit "design cost" of around $1 (probably much lower, but it's an overestimate; and that's for the first run of 100 shirts; there would be no such cost for further runs). For materials, the price of a quality cotton t-shirt if you go to your local store to buy one is around $6 - $10, and that price will be lowered if you're buying in bulk, as a large group would likely be doing, which is probably why the bulk of WWE's shirts are black), so let's say that's $4. As far as the screen-printing costs, as most graphic tees are screen-printed, I'd estimate maybe $2 per shirt (again, this number likely goes lower per unit the more shirts you're producing). So, the t-shirt you paid $7 to make produced a profit of $18.

Now, start trending your unit costs down the more product you're creating. Eventually, you reach a bare minimum unit cost of around $2 - $4 per shirt, and the price is still $25 to the consumer, which means your profit is between $21 and $23 per shirt.

Now...a small company wouldn't have the design or production resources of a company like WWE, NJPW, or even AEW, Impact, or MLW, so their unit costs to produce will be higher, therefore their profit will be less per unit (therefore, less overall), producing a lesser impact on their corporate bottom line.

So, to make a long story short (TOO LATE!), I see absolutely nothing wrong with the "overpowered" merchandise numbers for larger companies. All they do is reflect realistic economic principles.

    St.T

I agree with the economy of scale that bigger companies have.

A static 6,612$ in merchandise expenses for an income that varies from 9,172,500$ to 3,006,679$ is odd to me. I also think the income it provides is too high.

  3. I suggest making 50% of merchandise income as expenses.

Under a line named: Merchandise Production

    Which would include:

    - Merchandise production cost

    - Marketing research

    - Warehouse expenses

    - Unsold product / surplus stock

    - Etc.

The current expenditure for merchandise for bigger companies is unfairly low and doesn't seem to account for these expenses.

I simmed a year with version 1.17 and 6k per month for +50M in profit on merchandise doesn't seem right. Merchandise income also seems overpowered.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. - Raise psychology</p><p>

Bobby Eaton - Lower popularity </p><p>

    Ahmed Johnson - Lower popularity</p><p>

Glenn Jacobs - Raise charisma, microphone and/or acting and stamina</p><p> </p><p>

I really enjoy playing with the mod and really appreciate the effort you put into it. Thanks a lot.</p>

  5. Just a quick note, is there any suggestions people have around the new attributes and who they may be suitable for. I have put a couple in (patterson being agent of rumbles, hogan not putting anyone over etc) but would be interested in people's thoughts.

Golden Mane, Control Freak, Faithful, Desireless, Life Long Underdog, Talent Spotter, That Doesn't Work for Me, Brother, Voice Of... (x5), Agent Of... (x7)

Is a new beta release planned soon?

I would really like to review workers and sim a few years with the latest version to better assess the effect of new attributes.

  6. I have all of wcw worldwide from 1997 and every show has matches on them, so I'd keep it active unless you feel wcw has too many tv shows.

Were they pre-taped matches, matches that also aired on other TV shows (Nitro, Saturday Night or Pro) or new exclusive matches? Was the show format like Nitro and Saturday Night?

I'm unsure if WCW Pro aired entirely exclusive matches in January 1997 or if it had a percentage of summaries.

  7. To make the game more interesting for the player, I suggest adjusting these:

    1) Companies relationships: WWF / WCW - Opinion of WCW: Extremely negative - Opinion of WWF: Extremely negative

It makes both companies try to compete more against each other and way less likely to accept "positive actions" between each others.

As mentioned in the help guide, companies will slowly move towards a "Neutral" opinion based on what happens between them.

    2) Set WWF Superstars as dormant

It aired mostly summaries in 1997.

    Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWF_Superstars_of_Wrestling

    3) Change WWF Raw's length to 2h

The actual change happened February 3 1997 which is quite close to the start date of the mod.

It'll make it more interesting for the player as Nitro and Raw will have the same length.

The first hour could be considered the adjustment of WWF Superstars as dormant which is suggested above.

    Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_WWE_Raw

    4) Change WWF Raw's episodes to be taped one at a time

Will go well with suggested changes above.

    5) Set WCW WorldWide as dormant

There was actually a time when the set was unavailable. No shows were shot there between November 1996 and May 1997.

First WCW WorldWide shows in 1997 aired in July.

    Text from wikipedia: The last set of tapings at Disney occurred in November 1996 and aired in February 1997;

afterward, Disney evicted WCW from the studio space it was using and the company moved the set across Orlando to Universal Studios Florida, where a new set was eventually constructed.

  8. I think eras need to be adjusted a bit:

    - First one starts in December 1997 (game starts in January 1997).

    - There are a few months that are in-between eras (so it defaults to the default era).

I think these workers could have their stats and/or popularity toned down a bit (they are a bit overpowered compared to others):

    Carlos Colon

    Dennis Rodman

    Dusty Rhodes

    Gary Coleman

    Harley Race

    Jake Roberts

    Jay Leno

    Jimmy Snuka

    Mike Tyson

    Mil Mascaras

    Pamela Anderson

    Pete Rose

    Stan Hansen

    William Shatner

I would also adjust Shane McMahon's potential and possible roles so that he could be a Wrestler and have reasonable stats. He started wrestling in December 1998. I think it could be done by adjusting his potential or adding a narrative "Worker fulfills potential" set at a later date.

    Ref: http://www.profightdb.com/wrestlers/shane-mcmahon-285.html?res=5000

I think Vince McMahon could also be adjusted to be able to be used as a wrestler with reasonable stats.

    Ref: http://www.profightdb.com/wrestlers/vince-mcmahon-278.html?res=5000

I also suggest adding the attribute "Wrestling In The Blood" to:

    - Terry Funk

    - Eric Bischoff

    - Shane McMahon

    - Stephanie McMahon

    - Hulk Hogan

    - Kevin Nash

    - Terry Funk

    - Bret Hart

    - Sting

    - Glenn Jacobs

As well as adding the attribute "Desperado" to:

    - Shane McMahon

    - Hulk Hogan

    - Kevin Nash

    - Bret Hart

    - Shawn Michaels

    - Sting

    - Glenn Jacobs

  9. Just booked an episode of Raw. If someone can explain this to me...

    Main Event: HHH & SCSA v Goldust & Hart - 78

Segment 5: Angle feat. Sid and HBK - 81

    Segment 4: Mankind v Rocky Maivia - 70

Segment 3: Angle with Taker, Mankind and Vader - 83

    Segment 2: Taker v Sincere - 66

Opener: Angle with Bret, SCSA, Goldust and HHH - 91

    Show rating - 58!?

Possibly not enough angle time. TV shows for WWF are expected to be 60% angles and 40% matches.

  10. I don't intend for this to be permanent, but I'm seriously bummed out by everything that's going on with the British wrestling scene and beyond right now (@ExposeWrestling on Twitter if you're out of the loop) and I don't even want to think about watching modern wrestling at the moment so there won't be a July release.

Could there possibly be a June v2 release with a few fixes? (if a few were done)

  11. I noticed a few issues in my game:

    - La Chica Yeyé is set as male

    - Trish Stratus's sex appeal, star quality and other stats seem too high

    - Shinsuke Nakamura's stats seem too high (namely star quality)

    - Road Warrior Animal, set as Retired wrestler

    - Jake Roberts, set as Retired wrestler

    - Brutus Beefcake, set as Retired wrestler

    - Jacques Rougeau Jr., set as Retired wrestler

  12. I started a game with "Strict boom and bust" and at the lowest settings on both economy and wrestling industry.

A low economy and wrestling industry doesn't seem to have that much of an effect on feds above big size. Most continue to turn a profit without much difficulty.

After these 3 years USPW is currently at 211M.

    I would suggest reducing:

    - Merchandising (possibly by 50% of its current level)

    - USPW's broadcast revenue (Is it possibly unbalanced because they are owned by their broadcaster?)

  13. Hey buddy, I love this skin but I noticed the mail button does not change color when there's pending mail, I assume the same is true for the decisions button but I'm not sure, would it be possible for you to whip up a quick fix update for this?

    Thanks for the consideration!

I'll await to see if there are changes in-between the release of the game and now before making changes. I may release a new version then.

    Thanks.

  14. <p>Using Public Beta #4.</p><p> </p><p>

I feel an adjustment should be made to adjust handshake contracts according to company size.</p><p> </p><p>

    Something like possibly these:</p><p>

    - A "minimum salary" according to the company size</p><p>

    - Workers requesting a salary that is "relative" to the company size or other workers on the roster</p><p>

    - A better relationship between company size and worker popularity salary request</p><p> </p><p>

    Examples:</p><p>

    1) As a rock hard company in Quebec Canada (where she has 0 popularity) Air Raid Syren may accept a 40$/show salary.</p><p>

    2) As CZCW she accepts the same pay which seems kinda unfair towards the worker.</p><p>

    3) As USPW, she would also accept the same pay which feels really unfair towards the worker.</p><p> </p><p>

I feel it leads to an unfair advantage on pay that gets bigger as the company grows in size.</p>
