After locking up with Dory Funk Jr., Fuyuki surprised the 1,800 in strong by taking the fight to Dory for awhile. This only lasted for so long as a series of quick tags between the opposite corner eventually tired Fuyuki out. A tag out to Tsuruta evened the odds out as he began to take the fight to his challenger for the NWA United National Title. After a setup for a running knee lift, Terry bailed out of the ring and recovered on the outside for awhile. Race attempted to finish the match off with a sleeper hold as Tsuruta at times appeared to be fading to the hold, however, he suddenly found a second wind and was able to throw Race over his shoulder before getting a tag off to Baba. Fuyuki kept Funk within his grasp and the match in control for a few minutes before Funk managed to slip away, deliver a backbreaker and then tag out to Race. Kind of took me by surprise there at getting four given it's a dynasty dating back to near 40 years ago. Truthfully, I was on the fence for awhile if I was going to do either New Japan or All Japan. I was certain this dynasty was going to take place in 1983, but there was a lot of waffling in choosing which company to run. Hey, it's a time period with not too much stuff out there, I believe. But, once it gets fully up and running it should be a bit easier for the predictions... maybe. I think what ultimately led to me making the choice to run as AJPW was reflecting back and re-reading that diary. Man, it was (and still is!) phenomenal. It sure was (says I, man born in 1992)! I feel the time period can lead to a lot of really interesting faces making appearances. We've already got a young Misawa and Kawada due to make their way up the ranks with Baba, Tsuruta and Tenryu already strong faces in the company... not to mention having Harley, the Funks, Hansen and Bruiser Brody. It's going to be a fun run.

  10. Let me take you back... back to the age of giants... back to the age where legends were more than just fabled stories of old and were living, breathing, thriving entities. This was the age of war. As a slumbering titan in the west was about to stir from its slumber and wreak havoc, two titans of the east were already in the middle of slugging it against each other for ultimate supremacy of a country... and perhaps potentially the world. The Lion vs. The King. Eleven years removed from the formation of both companies, New Japan Pro Wrestling and All Japan Pro Wrestling have continued their feud of philosophies into the new decade of the 80s. Antonio Inoki's NJPW's more shoot-style promotion at the start of our story has the edge business-wise with his recent shows packing in more people than Giant Baba's more western-influenced AJPW. While Inoki's roster is chock full of talent (and with quite the roster full of westerners), Baba's more homegrown roster may arguably be the more talented of the two. With a solid foundation in place to make their charge up to New Japan's level and potentially surpass them, All Japan pushed forward into 1983 with some momentum on their side and with the prize of becoming the number one promotion in Japan certainly within their grasp. This is the story of The King's Road to Glory.
  11. <p>Ended up splitting SWF into two different brands shortly after The Supreme Challenge 2017. Currently in October Wk2 2017</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Supreme Brand</span></strong></p><p> <strong>North American:</strong> Paul Huntingdon (beat champion Ross Henry and Des Davis at Oct. PPV)</p><p> <strong>World Tag Team:</strong> The Awesomeness</p><p> <strong>Vixxen:</strong> Alicia Strong (first champion for Women's Division, champ since August)</p><p> </p><p> Going to debut a new main-event belt for the brand at Christmas Clash. Probably going to stick it on Eric Eisen. </p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Elite Brand</span></strong></p><p> <strong>World Heavyweight:</strong> Marat Khoklov (beat Jack Bruce at The Supreme Challenge 37)</p><p> <strong>Television:</strong> Casey Valentine</p><p> <strong>Shooting Star:</strong> James Prudence (had him drop weight to fit in division, figured he'd make a decently over heel to go up against Jimmy Hernandez)</p>
