The CornellVerse World War

Recommended Posts

In an old E-Fed I used to be in, we were part of this competition called "World War" which pit various promotions against each other in a tournament of sorts. So I figured, why not bring that for the CornellVerse? So I've taken all the global and national promotions, and some cults, and formed these brackets different pairings. I took the top Champion, the top Junior/Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight in the promotion, the top tag team and another Representative. The four different divisions will compete in different tournaments, the top champions fighting each other, the juniors fighting, the tag teams fighting, the reps fighting. Each tournament won will give that promotion a point. If there is a draw between two promotions, then they will compete in a 6 Man Tag. If there is a draw between five promotions, then the team that won the representative tournament, will get a bye for two rounds. The four other promotions will compete in a two round four man tag tournament in which the winner will face the representative tournament winner. Total Championship Wrestling Champion: Liberty Junior Heavyweight/Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight: Donnie J. Tag Team: Raul Darkness and Jay Darkness Representative: Tommy Cornell Supreme Wrestling Federation Champion: Runaway Train Junior Heavyweight/Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight: Calamari Kid Tag Team: Elmo Benson and Groucho Bling Representative: Christian Faith Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods Champion: Tadiyuki Kikkawa Junior Heavyweight/Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight: Super Joshuya Tag Team: Miyamae and Shimedzu Representative: Elemental Canadian Golden Combat Champion: John Maverick Junior Heavyweight/Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight: Ricky DeColt Tag Team: Bobby Thomas and Nate Johnson Representative: Alex DeColt Dangerous and Violence Extreme Champion: Chris Caulfield Junior Heavyweight/Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight: Alex Braun Tag Team: Guide and Scout Representative: Nemesis North of the Border Wrestling Champion: Dark Angel Junior Heavyweight/Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight: Edd Stone Tag Team: Dallas and Dean McWade Representative: Dan Stone Jr. Pride Glory Honor Wrestling Champion: Mito Miwa Junior Heavyweight/Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight: Noriyori Sanda Tag Team: Chaos Demon #1 and 2 Representative: Akinori Kwakami South of the Border Pro Wrestling Champion: Mayan Idol Junior Heavyweight/Cruiserweight/Lightheavyweight: Junior Youth Tag Team: Hexx and Decimalo Representative: Manuel Prieto Well there are the groups, as soon as I find a 1-8 random number generator, the brackets should be up and then I will announce the prediction contest!

Tournament Preview and Prediction Contest! Okay, there's going to be a prediction contest. Whoever gets the most matches right gets a prize which will be named at a later date. Matches to Watch Tommy Cornell of TCW v. Christian Faith of SWF Two rival promotions going head to head?! It's the wet dream of every wrestling fan! All the Tag Matches Two or three of these teams will be signed by SWF or BHOTWG within the next year. See them while they're still motivated. Elemental vs. Alex DeColt Elemental's rare appearance against Alex DeColt, the second best Canadian wrestler... *drool* Nemesis vs. Dan Stone Jr. Only to see Stone go Hardcore against Nemesis. Chris Caulfield vs. Runaway Train Let's face it, Richard Eisen hates DaVE so we might see Train actually TRY to look good... Matches that are Going to Suck Mayan Idol vs. John Maverick A second rate champion versus some guy with a funny mask. The other matches will be alright. I would love to see Cornell vs. Nemesis in the finals of the rep tourny. So make ya predictions, deadline is 8 PM EST Saturday

Sorry about the delay: My house is currently being networked and the only net I have access to is my dad and school computers, neither which have WreSpi. I may write up the first round of the champions later on today and transfer it over to one of the other PCs in the house so... until I get the results up keep predicting. Unknown DeColt - I got so far ahead in the game that I couldn't keep up.

Yay. Net is back. The Top Champions Tournament - Round One, Match One John Maverick of CGC versus Mayan Idol of SOTBPW - Standard Singles Match Can anyone say Styles Clash? This is what the first match of the evening consisted of as Maverick, the submission based wrestler and Mayan Idol, the brawler, really couldn't keep with one another's styles. Maverick worked on Mayan Idol's legs for the first 10 minutes of the match, bring Mayan Idol's energy to Low and that's when the match turned around. Idol began to pummel Maverick for the next five minutes. But Mayan tried to play the mat game with Maverick and Maverick began to work on Mayan's legs again and hit the Tiger Suplex at 17 minutes, and surprisingly the Idol kicked out and Idol regained the advantage and began pummeling Maverick for another five minutes and hit the Superkick at 21 minutes, and surprisingly Maverick kicked out of the Superkick. Mayan Idol then went to hit a Fisherman's Suplex but Maverick somehow slipped out and locked in the Mutilation Armbar and Idol had no choice but to tap out at 22 minutes. Time 22 Minutes Match Rating B- So it surprised me that this match recieved a grade higher then C, but it was entertaining to watch. It was quite obvious that both men were extremely tired after the match and it looked like both men had no energy to fight at the end. Idol had to limp off after the match. The Top Champions Tournament - Round One, Match Two Mito Miwa of PGHW versus Liberty of TCW - Standard Singles Match After a back and forth brawl between the two men for the first ten minutes, Mito Miwa began to take control after hitting a huge Russian Leg Sweep at 12 minutes. But Liberty tried to keep up kicking out of four pinfall attempts, two that included Pride Bombers, one after a Lariat Clothesline and one after a Reverse DDT. He even managed to escape the Triangle Choke, but finally at 29 minutes Mito Miwa hit a Reverse DDT and Liberty couldn't kick out. A dominating match for Miwa here and it looks like he'll be fighting John Maverick in round 2. Time 29 minutes Match Rating C+ Not really surprising that it wasn't that entertaining. It's just plain and simple, Liberty sucks. I really do hope Tommy Cornell was watching this match. It seemed like Miwa hadn't really broke into a sweat and was able to walk back to the locker room, although a bit out of breath. Liberty on the other hand, despite being valiant isn't talented and it looked like he was struggling to stand up after the match.
