Wrestling has made my fortune. And I raised my own company in the wrestling fashion. I gave my workers freedom, but I taught them to never dishonour their family. They found another. They wrestled on their shows. They’d arrive at my shows late. I didn’t protest. Two months ago they were introduced to another. They were offered a percentage. They tried to take advantage of my workers. My workers resisted. They kept their honour. So the two companies had my workers beaten, like animals, on my show. I visited one of them in hospital, his nose was broken. His jaw was held together by wire. He couldn’t even weep because of the pain. But I wept. Why did I weep? They were my entire company. They were what put bread on my table. Now they will never wrestle again.[/CENTER] [I]Harris breaks down. The Don gestures to Panix to give Harris a drink. [/I] [CENTER][B]Harris[/B][/CENTER] Sorry. The judge sentenced them to three years in prison… suspended sentence. Suspended sentence! They went free that very day. I stood in the courtroom like a fool. And those two bastards, they smiled at me. Then I said to my wife, “for justice, we must go to Don Ryland.” [CENTER][B]Don Ryland[/B] (Sitting behind his desk, petting a cat)[/CENTER] Why did you go to the police? Why didn’t you come to me first? [CENTER][B]Harris[/B][/CENTER] What do you want of me? Tell me anything. But do what I beg you to do. [CENTER][B]Don Ryland[/B][/CENTER] What is that? [CENTER][B]Don Ryland[/B][/CENTER] We’ve known each other for many years, but this is the first time you come to me for counsel, for help. I can’t remember the last time you invited me to your house for a cup of coffee, even though my wife was part owner of your company. But let’s be frank here: you never wanted my friendship. And uh, you were afraid to be in my debt. [CENTER][B]Harris[/B][/CENTER] I didn’t want to get into trouble. [CENTER][B]Don Ryland[/B][/CENTER] I understand. You found paradise in the industry, had a good trade, made a good living. The police protected you and there was a court of law. And you didn’t need a friend of me. But uh, now you come to me and you say “Don Ryland give me justice.” But you don’t ask with respect. You don’t even think to call me Godfather. I know you have experiance in the role of head booker, and I know your previous company went bankrupt. But you are working for me now, so you will not have any enemies to fear of. What I want from you is to make TEWF a profitable organization. I am partially withdrawing from this industry to focus my efforts on a MMA project I've been dreaming up, so I'll need someone to, at least, keep TEWF afloat. There are one or two issues where I will put my foot down. I will not tollerate drugs use in the business. In my other line of work I have done my best to steer clear of that particular devil, so I don't want all my hard work being undone by a careless steroid junky. Secondly, I want to see genuine athletes here. Wrestling is an ancient and proud sport, and I want TEWF to reflect that somewhat. Is everything clear? [CENTER][B]Harris[/B][/CENTER] Y... Then we have two first round matches for the tournament to decide the TEWF Grey Dog Champion leading up to Killing Time on Sunday Week 4. The first match-up is between one time manager and now one half of Panix At The Disco, DJ Chris against the ever drunk Joose2001. The second of our first round bouts is between former space merchant, Revenant and young up-and-comer Nikk "Astil X" Rund. Then ,the main event, zombie hunter and well respected member of The Family, Remianen will enter the ring to square up to the Abstract, TCP. More matches will be announced on the night.
