The Storms are young, and could learn a lot from jobbing to a guy like Red Falcon or even Handsome Tommy Handell, plus I bet Walter Crowe loves to be a cheapass and keep paying Canadian workers a fraction of their value.
Never a truer word spoken than right there. While the Storms are not likely to be gracing the cards of the last few tours, they may well still get dark match time to train. And im surprised nobody picked up on my little clue yet

8th August 1975 - Huberts Gym I was four days sober and hating every minute of it. My whole body ached for another taste of whisky, another evening spent in some hotel room, drinking away my sorrows. But it was time to turn the corner and clean myself up. The decision to quit drinking wasn't quite my idea. In fact i wasn't sure who's it was. I was drinking after our last show four days ago and somebody knocked on the hotel room door.. However upon stumbling to it, i found nobody there... There was however a note slipped underneith... "You dont know me, but i know you. I can help you beat Crowe. Huberts Gym on Monday" So here i was, standing outside the gym, about to meet the note maker. Huberts Gym was unlike most gyms you will ever meet, mainly due to the fact that it used to be a church, and you can easily tell from the walls, stained glassed windows and the pulpit that Hubert used to address his students. The whole place had the smell of sweat and cigarettes that reminded me of Walter Crowes office, although this time it wasn't due to inappropriate dealings with secretarys. The walls were covered in posters advertising the shows that Hubert used to headline back in the day as well as some adverts for local shows coming up in the future. I was pondering about trying to talk him into letting me put up some posters for AICW when a voice spoke from behind.... ????: "Hello Adam" I turned around and was greeted by old man Hubert himself. Dressed in slacks and a baggy t-shirt, it looked as if he had just finished a work-out. His face was worn and most of his hair was gone, but he had a look about him.. One that said "If you even think of trying, im gonna break you in half" Hubert: "Thanks for meeting me" Me: "Your kidding right.. Its an honour" Hubert: "Hows your arm. He broke it didn't he" Me: "Well his flunky did, but its doing better now. Get the odd twinge still" Hubert: "Good enough to get in the ring with me?" Me: "You.. Your kidding right" Hubert: "You dont think you can beat an old man?" Me: "Beat Hubert Christian. I somehow doubt that" We climbed into the ring and sparred for a while. I was somehow managing to hold my own against him even though from what i could remember, the sum of my training had been a few dark matches but before i knew it fifteen minutes had past and we were still at it. We only stopped when another voice interupted us ????: "Granpy Hubert" Hubert put up his hand for us to stop, and looked at the source of the noise. A child had ran into the gym and was gleaming at Hubert with pride. Hubert: "Adam, I would like to introduce you to my grandson, Jesse" Jesse needed no further introduction and clambered into the ring and started bouncing on the turnbuckles. Jesse: "Ladies and Gentleman. Introducing the Supreem Wrassling Fedition's NEW Champion.. JESSE CHRISTIAN!!!!!" Hubert: "Hey there sonny.. Its way past your bedtime" Jesse: "Awwwwwwww. Granpy Hubert... I heard you wrestling and wanted to play as well" Hubert: "Another night perhaps, but for for, take yourself back to bed" Jesses face turned from his cheeky grin to that sad boyish look, that little boys use so well, and he aimed it straight at Hubert. Hubert: "I promise Jesse. Tomorrow we can play wrestling" Jesse: "YAY!!!!! Night Granpy.. Night Granpy's friend" And just like that little Jesse Christian scrurried out of the ring and back to his bed leaving just me and Hubert alone. Hubert: "You still have it" Me: "Have what?" Hubert: "Jesus.. Those drugs have really messed up your head havent they. Whats the earliest you can remember?" Me: "March.. When i arrived at AICW" Hubert: "Well, we can work on trying to recover some memories, but they may be gone forever. Your skill in the ring, it seems is still there and we can hone that skill so you can beat Walter Crowe" Me: "Really?" Hubert: "Yeah.. Look come back in the morning and we can arrange a training schedule for you.. But for now, would you please leave. Im an old man and im tired" I left Huberts Gym with new determination about myself.. I could wrestle... But two things worried me.. Just how did Hubert Christian know me, and just how messed up was i on drugs before March..
I should give credit to Sebsplex for the picture idea. He reminded me via his diary that i used to put pictures in mine, which is something i may continue to do for any big event
26th August 1975 -The night before the final show- It was the night before the final show of the summer tour and with the matches arranged, i was having a quiet night in at my rental flat. The wallpaper was peeling off and i could pratically touch each wall from the centre of the room. But it had been home now for the last 5 months and i kinda liked the place. A little tv in the corner was my companion for the evening. Wheels of Fortune followed by The Sweeney and then a bath and bed. However a knock on the door woke me from my slumber and any chance of getting a good nights sleep. A feeling of dread starting rising. I hadn't ordered any takeaways and i doubt it was anyone i wanted to see. And upon opening the door, my fears were realised.. It was Walter Crowe. Crowe: "Hello Nancy No Knickers.." Me: "Boss" Crowe: "You gonna invite me in then?" Me: "I wasn't planning to, no" After all the abuse i had suffered from him since starting the job, you would think i would have been smarter, but i guess brains dont really run in my family. Well i couldn't remember if they did anyway. Crowe forced the door open, and stepped inside. He looked at the place with disgust and finally settled on my chair. Crowe: "My god.. Look at this place. And what is that smell?" Me: "The former resident i think. He apparently killed himself here. Not to be rude or anything.... wait.. actually.. being rude.. What the hell are you doing here?" Crowe: "Thats no way to speak to your boss.. Im here to talk about tomorrow" Me: "The show.. Why.. Whats wrong with it" Crowe: "Its rigged is what it is.. I reckon you purposedly arranged it so i would have to face five others" Me: "Oh give it up. If i had wanted to do that, i could have got a few more people involved and made some kind of battle royal.. Would you like that. A twenty man battle royale for the title!" Crowe was up off the chair and in my face. I could smell the cheap cigars he pretended were imported luxuries on his breath, and whiskey.. A winning combination im sure Crowe: "Listen you little s**t. Why do you keep pushing my buttons like that?" Me: "You seem a little wound up, and just when i have a proposition for you as well" Crowe: "Oh yeah, and whats that?" Me: "Another title. We have too many contenders for just one title" Crowe: "And you think i should just let you have this?" Me: "Your a gambling man. How about a little bet" Crowe: "What are the terms?" Me: "A match. If i win, then i get the belt. If you win, then..." Crowe: "...Then you make sure my title reign continues through the next tour" Crowe made for the door. Upon opening it, he turned back to me Crowe: "And your facing who?" Me: "Nathen Crosby of course!" I can see Red Falcon escape with the belt, he's been the real star of the tour, but I don't want you to get hurt by Crowe... well... maybe you could write it in a positive way ;) Good match from Peak. Don't ask why, but I'm rooting for this guy.

From Total Extreme Wrestling September '75 Issue (the only source of wrestling news..according to their magazine) All American Florida Wrestling has been in the news this week as two of their workers suffered injury at The Arkansas Colliseum during the AAFW One Wild Night show. The first injury happened during the match against American Giant & Ray McQuarters. During that match, Ray dropped Giant on his head and secured the pinfall but after the match, Giant had trouble standing, and then proceeded to throw up. He was escorted out of the arena to be checked out by medical personel. Later on that night came the second injury. It was Brutus McBride against Marv Brody. Early on in the match, McBride whipped Brody against the roads but Brody went over getting his leg caught in the ropes, which was effecting his performance the rest of the match. When the match was over, an official came over and helped Brody out the arena. AAFW told us that Marv Brody's injury wasn't that severe. It was just a twisted disco knee and that he would be back to full health in a few weeks, but American Giants was more severe. Upon being taken to see medical personel, Giant was complaining about ringing in his ears and that his vision was going blurry. He was diagnosed with a Major Concussion which could see him out of action for over a year. From all of us at TEW Magazine, we wish American Giant a speedy recovery.
