Scheduling "Compensation"

Recommended Posts

In real college football, teams enter into scheduling contracts. http://www.msstate.edu/web/media/detail.php?id=3194 I'm not sure if BBCF offers some form of compensation to teams based on 'gate' of the games they play (so for instance, if Idaho goes to USC, they would get more money than if they played San Diego State), but that's also a factor. For Online leagues of BBCF in particular, it'd be great if a simple 'scheduling contract' were created between teams. Even a simple one like this, using USC/Idaho as an example: USC's Side of the Contract: Guaranteed Money: $0 Gate Percentage: 75% Buy-Out Amount: $40,000 (This really only works if teams are allowed to schedule 'years' in advance, but could apply to the second half of a home and home) Idaho's Side of the Contract: Guaranteed Money: $40,000 Gate Percentage: 25% Buy-Out Amount: $20,000 Since College sports, and BBCF as well, have little direct interaction between teams except on the field and recruiting, scheduling takes the place of 'trading' in pro sports, where the two teams get to negotiate with each other. Adding more negotiation to this element would greatly enhance online leagues I think.
