In other action, Pedro Morales beat The Masked Superstar.[/QUOTE] [QUOTE]Georgia Championship Wrestling held their weekly main house show with a main event of Larry Zbyszko and Stan Hansen beating The Spoiler and Iron Sheik to retain the National Tag Team Titles.[/QUOTE] [B][SIZE=2]Friday Week 3 June 1983[/SIZE][/B] [QUOTE]AWA held their All-Star Wrestling show with a main event of Greg Valentine and Buzz Sawyer defeating Wahoo McDaniel and Rick Martel. In other action, Ken Patera and Larry Zbyszko beat Ricky Steamboat and Nick Bockwinkel.[/QUOTE] [B][SIZE=2]Monday Week 4 June 1983[/SIZE][/B] [QUOTE]We were officially rejected by Kerry Von Erich today whose contract was up for renewal with WCCW. Both teams are consummate tag teams and know how to use double-teams and quick tags to their advantage. Once Gordy got the advantage, though, it was all Freebirds as they doubled up on Ricky Morton in the corner and baited Robert Gibson in multiple times to continue to cheat against Morton. The tide turned when Morton reversed a Buddy Roberts' sleeperhold into a jawbreaker. Morton and Roberts slowly crawled toward their corner. But Morton was crawling toward a neutral corner! Roberts made the tag to Terry Gordy and Morton avoided a clothesline and somersaulted over to his corner and made the tag to Robert Gibson! The fresh Gibson was a house of fire, landing blows on Gordy and Buddy Roberts! Ricky Morton even jumped into the fray! Gibson took Gordy in one corner and Morton took Roberts in another and banging punching away to a count called out by the crowd! Once they reached ten, the Express jumped down and whipped the Freebirds into each other! Gordy and Buddy Roberts staggered and Gordy was hit with a double dropkick that sent him sliding out of the ring. Robert Gibson gave chase and they began brawling outside with both men fighting! Morton and Roberts soon joined them on the outside and it was an all-out fight! Referee Randy Anderson had no choice but to count both teams out of the ring! Dusty started the match off quick, catching Flair off-guard and sending Flair to the outside to regroup. Dusty chased Flair around the ring and Flair finally rolled inside and stomped on Dusty when Rhodes followed him back in. Flair took this opportunity to go after that hurting knee of the American Dream, playing to the crowd as he stomped on the knee and drew it over to the bottom rope, dropping all his weight on that knee. The Nature Boy continued with the advantage, using a few rakes of the eye and chops to keep the Dream at bay. But Flair focused in on that knee for much of the match. The American Dream reversed an irish whip into the corner and Flair went flipping over the top and landed on the apron. He went running for the corner and climbed up but Rhodes caught him and slammed him but that knee gave out, leaving both men on the mat in pain. Both men struggled to their feet before the ten count and Rhodes punched Flair and Flair chopped Rhodes. This went back and forth until Rhodes gained an advantage with those rapid punches and a little flip, flop and fly leading to the Bionic Elbow! Flair was in trouble and referee Tommy Young was right there as Rhodes dropped an elbow on Flair and made the cover. The crowd counted along with the 1.....2........?!?! Dick Slater pulled the referee out of the ring and punched him! What a cowardly attack! Dirty Dick came into the ring with the NWA World Heavyweight Title and handed it to Flair. EMT's are coming from the back as Flair, Slater and Orton raise their arms in victory, heading toward the back.[/I] =C- [I]The paramedics are checking on Dusty, trying to get something, anything from him but now he seems to have passed out from blood loss. This is horrible. The paramedics are getting a stretcher out there and they are having to use several of them to stretcher Dusty Rhodes out of the ring. Nice to see that you have been busy since I was gone. Like the direction that you have gone in. I'll be honest I skimmed over the entries since I was last on. Hope I didn't miss anything. Like the fact that Steamboat has taken the strap in the AWA. I know someone else that may or may not have that in his plans in another diary. :rolleyes: Brody to retire? That's a shame. Anyway glad to see this going strong. I'll comment more when I have a chance to catch all the way up!

Each one began eating more and more of the leather strap with Wahoo secretly gathering it in his hand. Once they drew close enough, he LASHED Ivan on the shoulder with the strap! The Russian Bear looked surprised and in pain as Wahoo lashed him again and again and Ivan finally slid out of the ring to get away from Wahoo. But this is an indian strap match! Wahoo securely grabbed the strap and gave it a sharp tug, surprising Ivan and sending him careening into the ring chest-first. Wahoo walked over and pulled Ivan onto the ring apron but got caught by Koloff, who grabbed Wahoo's head and dropped his neck on that top rope. Koloff slid back inside the ring and put the boots to Wahoo in the gut, setting him up and delievering a suplex! He went for the cover and got a 1....2....kickout by Wahoo! Koloff remained on the offensive for the next few minutes, delievering crushing blows to the back of the Native American, letting that be his focus. He even used the leather strap to lash Wahoo on the back, leaving several red welts there with the strength of those lashes. The crowd started a "U.S.A., U.S.A." chant to hopefully get Wahoo back in the match and it worked for a short period of time. Wahoo even got in some of those knife-edge chops that he made famous before Ric Flair. But Koloff was getting the majority of the offensive time in. He choked Wahoo with the strap, being admonished by referee Randy Anderson but the strap is a legal weapon here. The Russian Bear growled out at the crowd as he stalked a fallen Wahoo McDaniel. Wahoo slowly got to his feet and Ivan locked in the Bear Hug! This has to be all! Koloff squeezed the life out of an already drained Wahoo McDaniel. The crowd started in with that "U.S.A., U.S.A." chant again as Wahoo started to go limp. Referee Randy Anderson grabbed his arm and raised it... It fell once.... It fell twice.... It fell.... But raised back up again! Wahoo is not done yet! The crowd explodes as The Native American fights against the Bear Hug but Ivan is still squeezing. Wahoo claps his hands on Koloff's ears! A second time! A third time breaks the hold and Wahoo feeds off the energy of the crowd as he bounces off the ropes and brings the Russian Bear down with a clothesline. Wahoo starts to go into his Native American dance around the ring, waiting for Koloff to get up. Koloff slowly reaches his feet and is brought down with a lash by the strap! Wahoo continues to move around the ring and as Koloff gets to his feet Wahoo grabs the strap and uses it to whip Koloff into the turnbuckles! Wahoo moves immediately over and climbs up, raining down punches on the Russian Bear as the crowd counts along: 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9..10! Wahoo steps back down and chops Ivan Koloff to the mat! The newest referee addition Adrien Desbois drew this match and he was right on the ball when the Funks tried to cheat. This was a pretty open tag team match in the beginning with both sides showing why they are the top two teams in the world going at it. The Funks focused on Jack Brisco, leaving him as the face-in-peril role, getting several near-falls and using Jerry to distract the official for some double-teams. Jack got the crowd behind him though and came back and made the tag to Jerry! Jerry came in simply enfuego! He nailed both Funks with punches and took down Dory with a double-leg before punching away on him. In came Jack and Terry and the brawl was on inside the ring as it broke down into a pier six! Terry Funk and Jerry Brisco were the legal men. Referee Adrien Desbois went to Jack and tried to get him out of the ring and Terry took the time to grab the branding iron and SMACKED Jerry Brisco in the head with it! Terry tossed it out of the ring and then set up Jerry and landed a Texas Piledriver! Dory kept Jack out of the ring and Terry made the cover, getting the 3 count! We have NEW NWA World Tag Team Champions!
