He has managed to negotiate his way into two title matches – one defending his tag titles and the other a big shot at the ROF Championship that would normally seem unlikely. Justin Blackham managed to grab a word with the man of the moment. JB: Billy, you’ve managed to get yourself an ROF Championship match at the end of this month. But as a result, you also have to defend the ROF Tag Team Titles. And not just against any opponents, but against Merle O’Curle and a partner. What makes you think you’re going to end up with any titles at the end of this month? BR: Listen, JB. You’re just another one of these folk on the O’Curle bandwagon. He’s no better than Billy Robinson. He’s just lucked out to get into the position he’s in. And he’s lucky that I’ve been focused so hard on tag team competition this year so far. But I was a Talisman champion and tag team champion around here when he was a nobody, and now I’m going to take that ROF title away from him to prove who the better man is. JB: You didn’t really answer my question. BR: I’m totally confident about retaining the tag titles. I’ve got a partner who I know I can rely on. Who has O’Curle got? First, he’s not a recognised tag team competitor. And secondly, I doubt anyone will even want to tag with him. He’s not exactly Mr Congenial around the locker room. JB: That’s as may be. But he’s been a dominant ROF Champion for some time now. What makes you think that, in singles competition, you have what it takes to defeat him? BR: Hey, you seem to be underestimating the skills of Billy Robinson. I’m a great athlete. In fact, O’Curle is far more one-dimensional than me. Plus, I’m a cool customer. Yeah, I hate his guts, but I can control that emotion in the ring. He hates my guts, and maybe he’ll make mistakes because of it. Normally he wrestles a really methodical style, but this match might just see him knocked out of that rhythm. JB: What caused the problems between you guys anyway? BR: Oh, he’s just a knob-end. He thinks he’s so high and mighty just because he’s wearing the big gold belt. I’d been cheated out of a battle royal match and was not happy about it, when he walks along and makes a smart-alec comment. Apart from being shocked at the fact that he could even string a sentence together and make an attempt at something that might be construed as interesting, it just wasn’t the smart thing to do at the time. He needs knocking down a peg or two; he’s so arrogant. JB: Hmm…the words pot and kettle spring to mind. BR: Hey, I’m just sure of myself. I’m talented and I don’t mind telling people. There’s a difference. JB: Getting back to the tag match, as that’s the one coming up first. How did you get Don Henderson to agree to the match? After all, he’s got everything to lose here and nothing to gain. BR: Yeah, well nobody ever said Don was too smart. He’s always up for a fight though. Plus, he should be backing me here. In many ways, he’s been caught in the shadow of O’Curle just like I have. He didn’t take too much persuading. JB: Did you honestly even ask him? BR: Yes, of course I did. Next question. JB: When do you expect to find out O’Curle’s tag partner? BR: I don’t really care. Actually, I’ll be surprised if he finds one. In any case, The Shooters are the best tag team in ROF history – hell, make that UK wrestling history. And Billy Robinson is the best singles athlete in the ROF; I’ve just not had the opportunity to show it yet. Come the end of this month, there’ll be nobody in any position to disagree with either of those statements.
Predictions High and Low vs Warriors of Honour JD Morgan vs Petey Barnes Kelly Martin vs UK Dragon ROF Tag Team Titles The Shooters © vs Merle O’Curle & partner

High and Low vs Warriors of Honour Unless you're going for an evenly spread tag division, with teams trading wins with one another then I can't see High and Low winning here. The other option could be that O'Curle doesn't find a partner at all and it becomes a handicap match, either way the Shooters retain the tag belts, unless you want O'Curle to be ROF's answer to Kurt Angle ?!

One such team is the relatively new alliance of British Samurai and Dan Judoka – Warriors of Honour. Justin Blackham sat down with them for a chat. JB: The pair of you have had great success since becoming a team. Just in case our fans are unsure, what made you decide to create the Warriors of Honour in the first place? BS: The Samurai are all about tuition – gaining students to follow in the ways of the Samurai. And in the battle royal match a few months ago, I became aware of the talent and promise shown by my colleague here. I thought the angry one could become a valiant warrior here in ROF with a little tuition. So I offered him the chance to tag with British Samurai , which he accepted. So now I can mentor him on his ROF journey, as well as create a formidable team for the tag ranks, scruffy suited one. JB: Dan, part of the process of becoming a Warrior of Honour was a name change – from your original ring name of Glen Ward to your current one of Dan Judoka. Was that it any way difficult? DJ: Man, it was brutal. I was… BS: (coughs) DJ: Not really. Okay, so I’d wrestled a few times as Glen Ward in the indies and in ROF, but it’s not like I was a household name or anything. So it was no big deal. And I like the new name – it gives me a purpose and it reminds me of my background. JB: Your background in judo competition. DJ: Right. I still use some judo moves in the ring, and if I can develop my technical wrestling ability alongside Samurai, it’ll make me especially dangerous in the ring, because there aren’t many wrestlers that have that same athletic background. JB: You were on a real roll as a team until last week when Future X managed to get a victory over you. A few ROF fans were surprised that you lost the match. Were you at all surprised? JD: It was complete and utter bul… BS: (coughs) JD: We were a little unlucky to lose the match. Do you expect the outcome to be different this time? BS: We have studied and contemplated what happened in that match and have learned from our mistakes. We are ready to become the number one contenders, and this week’s match is our opportunity. Both of the other teams are worthy contenders, but neither of them can bring the honour we can to the tag team titles. JB: One interesting little tid-bit for ROF fans is that you also trained both members of Sharp & Heath. How do you feel they are progressing? BS: They are both good men. They have plenty of talent and in time to come they will, I’m sure, become a force in ROF. But that time is not yet upon us. Have there been any problems from any other wrestlers since Dan was chosen to be your partner – any jealousy? DJ: I’d knock their blo… BS: (coughs) DJ: Most people have been quite supportive, to be honest. There are always difficulties thrown in the warrior’s path. But each of these difficulties can be overcome – be it a defeat like last week, or be it locker room dissention, or whatever else may come to pass. Future X vs Sharp & Heath vs Warriors of Honour You haven't said this was an elimination match, so Sharp and Heath despite their recent victories will do the job. A slight upset win over High and Low and a further win over Absolutely Worthless is one thing, being the next team to challenge for the tag titles is an entirely different one, so they definately wont win. Future-X did get the win over the Warriors, but you've already had the Future-X/Shooters feud and that would just be going over old ground, so the Warriors get the win here and challenge for the tag straps. ROF Tag Team Titles The Shooters © vs Future X 3 in a row? I reckon they can! Number One Contender Tournament JD Morgan vs UK Dragon Dragon is just so much greater! :) Challenge Stoat Stevie Stoat vs Dan Judoka Stoat lets off some steam! ROF Championship Merle O’Curle © vs JD Morgan or UK Dragon Although I think Dragon will go through to face Merle... I can see another successful defence on the cards.

Hey, I've been reading your diary from the shadows and finally decided to make an account to tell ya how awesome it is! Keep it up mate, amazing stuff! ROF Tag Team Titles The Shooters © vs Future X I'll give them a shot. =D Number One Contender Tournament JD Morgan vs UK Dragon Should be a good match but I see Morgan in the ME. Challenge Stoat Stevie Stoat vs Dan Judoka Stoat is a gawd, this should be a good experience for Judoka. ROF Championship Merle O’Curle © vs JD Morgan Should be a solid main event, with the dominator O'Curle taking the W.
