I've read this from the outset more or less and enjoyed a long-term British diary with the usually bland RoF. I think the shift to the higher profile events will work in your favour (eventually) as right now RoF is more Ring of London... which is still a fine accolade really. Upping the scope and the stakes should make for some more interesting venues at least. I'm looking forward to the Duponts on the Seine too. I hope you don't veer to sharply away from the Dirtsheet formatting. Although you could add a 'page' I suppose. One for the 'big montly event, and then the other two similar to what they are now. Big news, around the globe, short fuse snippets and Blooze's Blog. Continued success.

Big news, around the globe, short fuse snippets and Blooze's Blog. Continued success.
Thanks for the feedback and glad you've enjoyed it so far. I don't plan on changing the format of the newsletter at all - 2 pages with the same info - but now the only event covered by the newsletter will be the main monthly event, which for the foreseeable future at least, will always be in the same venue. I just can't afford to run the shows elsewhere all the time, and the 'main' show should, I think, always be in a place where the biggest crowd is guaranteed. I can only barely fill a tiniest venue in the other UK areas right now!! The Short Fuse shows I'm almost going to run in the background, mainly because they are shows simply with the purpose of getting our overness up a bit in other areas. There will be far fewer marquee matches on those cards - basically just booking them to ensure a decent popularity rise each time in that area as well as getting workers stats to rise a bit quicker (e.g. plenty of battle royals and lower quality workers getting more chances). I might put very basic results from the shows up with match ratings just so people can keep tabs on them if they want. I've enjoyed doing this diary so far and been really pleased to get plenty of positive feedback on it and am particularly grateful to the guys who predict pretty much every show! I did consider stopping it, mainly because I really don't have much time to play the game during term time (I'm a teacher). I'm actually thinking this change will make it easier to keep going - a monthly newsletter and reporting on one card should be more manageable, so I can actually spend more time on the game and less on the write-ups. With this diary I wanted to try and make a) an interesting ROF diary, and b) a long-term British CV diary. I may be wrong, but I only remember Clarity's PWA being a particularly long running British dynasty in the past. But what I'm finding difficult now (nearly 2 years into an ROF game) is that it is difficult to keep the interest up. I think the results of the matches have been quite predictable - mainly because the better wrestlers are almost always going to win, and it's fairly clear who the better wresters are! Plus, there just aren't that many British wrestlers who are good enough to compete at the top end of the card, so it tends to become quite repetitive, particularly in the ROF championship picture. But hopefully the change of show will make each match feel that little bit more important, and it'll become more of a challenge to me to book a longer show and keep the ratings up high enough to at least not lose any popularity. If anyone else has any suggestions or words of wisdom, feel free to let me have them! Otherwise, keep on reading and I'll have the previews for Molotov C0cktail (and a Stevie Stoat interview) up later this evening. :) Oh, and if you got this far through the post, well done! I really blabbered on there!!

JB: No, I’m merely using the analogy that you never quite manage to make it all the way when you get your title shots. Is that all going to change at Molotov? SS: You can bet your last penny on it, Blackham. Actually, on your salary it’s probably your only penny! Stevie Stoat is on a roll and I feel a piece of history coming my way. Every time I’ve had a title opportunity, my opponent has cheated their way to victory, or else luck has been firmly on their side. But this time Stevie Stoat will emerge victorious. JB: Some would say you’re a bit of a choker on the big stage. SS: Who exactly? JB: Well, some ROF fans on our internet forums don’t buy you as a serious challenger for the title now after so many blown shots. SS: Well what do they know? They’re just a bunch of idle morons who wouldn’t know quality if it hit them in the face. JB: You really know how to endear yourself to the ROF public, don’t you? SS: What they think doesn’t matter. Stevie Stoat has proven himself time and again and beaten every top wrestler here in ROF at one time or another. JB: Except JD Morgan… SS: Okay, except JD Morgan. But that’s going to change at Molotov. Back when the ROF title was formed, it was Stevie Stoat who took the belt and on whom the company’s success was founded. And now that we begin a new era of monthly special events, it will be once again Stevie Stoat who carries this company forwards. JB: What makes you so confident? SS: Hey, I just beat Merle O’Curle. He’s just like JD Morgan – submission wrestler, keeps opponents grounded, like a machine in the ring, about as much charisma as a cotton wool bud. If I can beat O’Curle, I’m sure I can handle Morgan. Just the same – except he’s about 30 years older. JB: How do you feel headlining this major show? SS: How do I feel? Well, I’m where I should be on the card. And it’s not as if I haven’t headlined shows before. Don’t forget I’m a regular at the top end of 21CW’s monthly shows. JB: Yes, but ROF have overtaken 21CW for popularity in the south of England, which some would say means this is the biggest wrestling event held in London for years. SS: Who says ROF is more popular in the south? JB: Ed Itor. SS: Who’s he when he’s at home? JB: He is a vastly experienced and qualified judger of wrestler and promotion popularity. SS: I don’t believe it for a second, Blackham. But it doesn’t matter. Stevie Stoat is the main event, it doesn’t matter what card or what promotion. Heck, if Stevie Stoat was wrestling for BHOTWG over in Japan, he’d be the main event smacking the taste out of Hooded Kudo’s mouth. If he was in TCW, he’d have Tommy Cornell pinned and begging for mercy. If he was in NOTBPW he’d show the owners where the real stones were! JB: You really think you’re that good? SS: Well, if the cap fits. JB: I’d be surprised if you could find a cap to fit. SS: What? JB: Well, best of luck for your title match, Stevie. You’ll surely need it. SS: I told you before, Blackham. The luck has been on the side of Stevie Stoat’s opponents in his recent title matches. But I’ve got the momentum now, I’ve got the talent of course, and I’ve got the superior style, body and selling power towards old JD. Some Observations: I think things are getting a little bit more unpredictable now, which was kind of a problem for you in the past. For instance you all reeled us in to thinking that Merle was heading for a bit of a slump, but then he pulls out the win over U.K Dragon and will be challenging for the ROF Title again. Though I do feel rather satisifed with my own powers of predicition, when it came to the Burning EXILE match up with Keith Adams. In my opinion you don't just go and hire someone the calibre of Burning EXILE only to be job them to an average mid-carder like Keith Adams, and it seems like we're on the same wave-length there. :) Shame about the Title match only gathering a C rating, though by the looks of things I see a Stoat- Price feud brewing, which will be a good way to get Stoat away from the title picture for now and either help re-build him as a contender with some solid wins, or transition him into the mid-card. Couldn't help notice the B- (which seems to be the peak of what the ROF roster can put on right now) between Merle O'Curle and Matt Gauge and though it seems like Merle can put on a good match with just about anyone in ROF, that' still impressive stuff from the rookie.
Some Observations: Shame about the Title match only gathering a C rating Couldn't help notice the B- (which seems to be the peak of what the ROF roster can put on right now)
Yes, a C for the main event isn't really good enough now on these shows. I don't think it was helped by O'Curle/Dragon being on before it, which was always likely to be a better match but I couldn't not make the title match the main event. Stoat's skill level is just a notch below the 'big 3' at present of Morgan, Dragon and O'Curle. And he certainly can't carry an opponent like those 3 tend to be able to. Generally a D or D+ is about the lowest I expect, with C- and C being the norm, and the occasional C+ and B- for really good bouts. You're right, B- is about the top rating I can muster from the roster at this point (although I have had a couple of matches rated a tiny bit higher in the months I've played since). I'm still trying to figure out why some wrestlers get better results than others. There are certain wrestlers on my books who always seem to perform below the expectations I would have for them, but then I suppose that keeps the game more interesting!

Burning EXILE & UK Dragon vs G-Force a win here would really establish the team as tag-team contenders. ROF Championship JD Morgan © vs Merle O’Curle Morgan gets another defence. not Merle's time to shine agen yet.

Leo Price vs Stevie Stoat I agree that this will probably go back and forth, with Price getting the final nod. ROF Tag Team Titles Warriors of Honour © vs High and Low Suspect the Warriors will win. Don Henderson vs Frankie Perez I'd think Frankie would get the win, being as good as he is. ROF Talisman Title Walter Morgan © vs Billy Robinson Robinson has a strong chance of winning, but I'm not picking him because I find Morgan more interesting :O Burning EXILE & UK Dragon vs G-Force Same thing here - it probably makes more sense for G-Force to win, but EXILE and UK Dragon are more fun, so I'll go with them. ROF Championship JD Morgan © vs Merle O’Curle You seem to lean towards longer title reigns, so I don't see O'Curle winning this one yet.
Almost got everything right, just missed the Gauge tag match. :)
Yep, 5 from 6. But you only got 3 from 6 at Molotov. So there! :D Seriously, I hope the matches take at least a little more thought to predict the results of now with the new shows. As for the Gauges - they aren't quite hitting the spot as a team as I'd hoped they would at this point, but I will persevere with them. I'd hoped they'd fill the tag team gap left by The Shooters splitting up, but Robinson and Henderson could put on better matches in the tag ranks - maybe its down to experience. I'm a little perplexed though as to why Greg Gauge's singles matches are quite a bit worse than Matt's at this point given that their stats are near identical. Might be momentum.

Walter Morgan and Leo Price briefly teamed earlier in the year for two matches against then tag champions The Shooters, winning one and losing one. Since then they have concentrated on singles matters, but with Morgan losing his Talisman title, they now represent a big threat to Warriors of Honour. ROF Tag Team Titles Warriors of Honour © vs The Wigan Bulldogs Like D-Mack I see the Warriors holding the belts for a little while yet, but the Bull-dogs should give them their sternest test yet. Burning EXILE vs Mario Heroic EXILE seems to be establishing himself as something of a semi-regular in ROF, so I don't see him losing here to someone who's just sent over on a talent trade. ROF Talisman Title Billy Robinson © vs Don Henderson You've just had the title switch last month, so I don't see Robinson dropping it to his former partner in his first defence. 10-man Tag Team Battle Royal Features Absolutely Flawless, Future X, G-Force, High and Low, and Par Excellence. Absolutely Worthless have to their credit improved a bit but still aren't championship material, Future-X have had their chances, High and Low had their go last month (and showed they aren't really championship calibre either) and Par Excellence simply aren't ready yet either, so that really only leaves G-Force as the most logical pick. ROF Championship Fatal 4-way JD Morgan © vs Merle O’Curle vs Stevie Stoat vs UK Dragon You had the champion retain in the Fatal 4-way last year, so this year I think they'll be a title switch. I'd like to see Dragon win, but I'll go for O'Curle to get the job done and win the 4-way 2 years in a row.
