Should I be worried that the biggest ROF feud right now seems to be Danny Demon vs Beeker?:p
Not unless you add a woman's division coz I'm delicate! As if I'm getting in the ring with O'Curle or Henderson or Jack Giedroyc! (Or especially a Demon.)

And as stated in the ROF newsletter, the first 6 entrants in the 15-man King of the Ring battle royal match have been announced. Merle O’Curle has entered the match for the first time ever. He has been busy in the two previous years wrestling in the ROF title match, but this time he’ll be looking to win the King of the Ring to guarantee another quite shot at the ROF Championship. Rolling Johnny Stones has won the King of the Ring for the past 2 years and will be one of the favourites again this year. He has stuttered somewhat since losing the ROF title back in February and will see this as his chance to rise back into contention. Billy Robinson nearly went through the entire match last year and reached the final 4 only to pass out in a Walter Morgan submission move. He’s been treading water a bit in ROF recently, but he’ll be looking for a career shot in the arm here. Greg Gauge has been sparsely used in ROF lately, mainly because he is only available for PPV events and hasn’t fared too well in those, earning himself one or two unkind nicknames from the fans. But he’s a skilled athlete and will be a definite danger man. Walter Morgan has come 2nd in both previous King of the Ring matches. Again he has struggled to break into real main event status this year but had a momentum building win over Billy Robinson lately and has showed his quality in this match before. Kevin Jones has been a consistent mid-card presence in ROF for some time and has actually competed for the Talisman Title on both previous King of the Ring shows. This time he enters the King of the Ring match looking to earn a Championship shot.

Although he is in the twilight of his career, he is still one of the most dangerous men on the roster and certainly has the skills and attitude to go all the way in this match. Don Henderson is a real ROF mainstay. Former 2-time Talisman champ and 3-time tag champ, he yearns to enter the main event picture and challenge for the ROF title. A win in this match would not be beyond the Highland Hitman given his skills. Oleg Dorosklov only made his ROF debut on the first Cauldron in September, but his record as a gold medallist at the 2008 Olympics and his early career performances in INSPIRE in Japan suggest that he will be a dangerous addition to the battle royal. Dark Angel has impressively been working through the upper tier of ROF on his ‘Crusade’ towards the ROF title. A win in the King of the Ring match would hot-shot him straight to the top of the queue and earn him the chance at the title next month. Seraphym won a qualifying match on Cauldron against Casey Valentine and therefore enters the King of the Ring for the 2nd year. Last year he was an unknown quantity, but this year he may be equally dangerous as an accomplice to Dark Angel. Kashmir Singh also won a qualifying match by beating Roberto Milano on Cauldron in week 3. This would represent a big opportunity for the Indian-born star, but at the time of writing, he is struggling with a knee injury and may or may not take part. The final 3 competitors will be announced between now and the King of the Ring event taking place. It is expected that all three men will be special invitees rather than ROF regulars.

He had also been Talisman champion in ROF during that very successful spell. He hasn’t been seen in the UK since, preferring to focus solely on Japanese tours, but now he is back to try and earn a shot at the one title he never won here – the ROF Championship. Could EXILE make a huge return? Last year Marat Khoklov entered the ROF King of the Ring match and he is once again going to be taking part this year. Following last year’s match, the former King of Fighters worked some matches for the short-lived Mark 2 brand, earning himself the jokey ‘Giant of the Midlands’ moniker at the time. But now he is back (under ROF contract) and raring to go – and what better way to make a giant splash than by winning the King of the Ring and earning a title shot immediately? Making his first ever ROF appearance at King of the Ring, Joss Thompson is nevertheless no stranger to UK fans. In fact the ‘Complete Package’ is one of the most successful wrestlers of the past few years, as his reigns as MOSC champion and 2-time 21CW champion will testify. The brash American will want to add the ROF title to his collection and will definitely be amongst the top contenders at King of the Ring.

ROF King of the Ring – September 2011 ROF Talisman Title Hugh de Aske © vs Nigel Svensson I like both guys, but Hugh de Aske has just won it back, so he shouldn't lose it. P.S, I like the new Svensson picture, but it kinda looks strange seeing as that picture looks hardly like the old picture. Just a thought. ROF Tag Team Titles Warriors of Honour © vs High and Low Warriors of Honour never really caught on with me. Besides, High and Low are on a run, and if they're producing such good matches for you, there's no reason why you shouldn't take advantage. The King of the Ring match Involving Billy Robinson, Burning EXILE, Dark Angel, Don Henderson, Greg Gauge, JD Morgan, Joss Thompson, Kashmir Singh, Kevin Jones, Marat Khoklov, Merle O’Curle, Oleg Dorosklov, Rolling Johnny Stones, Seraphym, Walter Morgan. With ROF being a British promotion, I had to go for a brit. And considering Dark Angel is old and could get injured, Morgan is old, Jones is...well, Jones, Curle has had his time(s) as champion, Johnny Stones is unreliable, Robinson and Morgan can't quite crack it...basically, Joss Thompson is one of the best British products in the CornellVerse, and I think that should be taken advantage of. ROF Championship Jack Giedroyc © vs UK Dragon Giedroyc has gotta win. Dragon is of course, great, but you have to let Giedroyc build up that champion aura.

Many thanks for those of you who voted for this diary in the end of year awards. Won Best Presentation award, came 2nd in the best utilized roster award, and sadly Stevie Stoat wasn't hated enough to place in the most hated wrestler category! Thanks again and keep reading - and get those King of the Ring predictions up. The results and next newsletter will be up either Saturday night or early Sunday.

The KOTR match is back around again, already ?- This calls for my usual prediction where I'll break down the field, but get it completely wrong :D ROF Talisman Title Hugh de Aske © vs Nigel Svensson The Pirate's only just won the title, and unless you're wanting to create a rivarly where they are literally trading the title back and forth, I can't see him dropping it back to Svensson. ROF Tag Team Titles Warriors of Honour © vs High and Low High and Low- I'm starting to believe. I'm starting to believe they could actually be a force in the tag ranks. They'll 'upset' the champs here, and then they'll prove themselves- with a proper title run. The King of the Ring match Involving Billy Robinson, Burning EXILE, Dark Angel, Don Henderson, Greg Gauge, JD Morgan, Joss Thompson, Kashmir Singh, Kevin Jones, Marat Khoklov, Merle O’Curle, Oleg Dorosklov, Rolling Johnny Stones, Seraphym, Walter Morgan. Billy Robinson- Has been on the fringes of the main event for about the past year now, without quite breaking into that elite echelon. He's the sort who will either find himself going out early, or he could shock everyone and be a surprise winner Burning EXILE- Flashback to 2008 !!! Unforunately the former Talisman and Tag champion is just here to make up the numbers this time. Dark Angel- In my opinon he'll go quite far into the match, but he does not need to win this to put himself into the title picture. He'll probably being involved in a double elimination with someone like O'Curle, that leads to those two feuding for a couple of shows. Don Henderson- Poor old Don, a long standing servant of the roster but unlikely to ever hold the top gold in ROF. Greg Gauge- Gauge has gone from exciting prospect to glorified PPV job-merchant and I don't see him going too far in this match, unless he lucks out and gets a good entry number, whatever number he enters at he wont win. JD Morgan- There's not really any reason why JD couldn't emerge victorious from this match, but there's just 4 or 5 others I fancy to come away with the victory, instead of the Dean of Submissions. Joss Thompson- A veteran of the British scene, the American born Thompson has found success in both MOSC and 21CW and is obviously looking to make a similar impact in ROF. He's the real wild-card of the match and I predict that out of all the 'guests' he will make the biggest impact. Kashmir Singh- Qualifiers rarely go very far in this match, and it wont be any different this year for one of ROF's resident jobbers. Kevin Jones- He's proved that he can cut it in ROF and he now has a decent finisher (just what exactly is a Welsh Valley Bomb- I'm guessing it's some kind of Power Bomb) but there's too many performers I would pick ahead of Jones to get the victory in this match. Marat Khoklov- He has the size to be a REALLY dominating prescence in this match, but I think he'll fall victim to the everyone else in the ring working together to get the Giant out tactic. For Khoklov to go far in this match, it all depends on what number he draws. If he enters early he'll get worn down , but if he is a late entrant he could be a potential winner. Merle O'Curle- Whilst winning this match would be another feather in O'Curle's ROF cap, I just don't think it's HIS match and I can see some kind of double elimination happening with Dark Angel, that puts both out just before the Final 4 segement of the match. Oleg Dorosklov- This guy really is an unknown quantity and I wouldn't be too surprised if he shocks us all and goes all the way, but I'll play the safe bet and go with the 'decent showing' but still goes out before the Final 4 prediction. Rolling Johnny Stones- The winner of this match two years running, and there's no reason why he can't three-peat. This really does seem to be Stones match, and he's sure to feature in the Final Four. Seraphym- I would be very surprised if Dark Angel's lackey came away with the victory, he's more likely to sacrifice himself to help keep Dark Angel in the match for longer. Walter Morgan- In the last show before Walter's rankings match with Billy Robinson, I predicted that the ship had probably sailed on Walter's ascendency to the top of ROF, but then he got the win. So maybe there is life in the Wigan Bulldog yet. He seems to do pretty well in this match every year and it wouldn't surprise me if he featured in the Final 4 once again. Final 4 (4th to winner): Joss Thompson, Walter Morgan, Rolling Johnny Stones, Billy Robinson Call me insane, or maybe I've been listening to the words of DannyDemon too much. but I think Robinson will pull off the shock victory, denying Stones a third straight victory in this match. ROF Championship Jack Giedroyc © vs UK Dragon Quite simply it's still too early into Giedroyc's run as champion, for the Wrath of God to drop the title this early.
I have to ask, Marcel - why the Welsh Valley Bomb rather than the Welsh Valley Driver?
I'm not really well up on wrestling moves these days because I haven't watched it in years...isn't the Death Valley Bomb and Death Valley Driver one and the same move? I just thought the bomb version sounded more impactful and 'special' as a finisher. So as Beeker had been crying out for a Jones finisher of substance, I went for the Death Valley Bomb idea, but made it Welsh to suit Jones as Tom Jones sang Sex Bomb, and he's Welsh, so it all fits! :D
It would be more logical to reference Kenny Chesney.
You're going to have to explain that one to me. Beyond the fact that he was briefly married to Renee Zellwegger, I know little to nothing about him. Oh, just Wikipedia'd him...he sang a song called 'She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy'. Anyone that can pull that off deserves some kind of kudos. :D

And now I can get behind Kevin "Sex Bomb" Jones for a serious push in RoF! Or at least the occasional win. As for Stevie not making the 'most hated' I'd blame that on RoF's no heels or faces stance. You've really only got yourself to blame for that and he's been gone for ages in your dynasty. Once gone, quickly forgotten. Some from Ipswitch could use that Chesney tune as their enterance music. :D *** I really should edit his in AFTER King of the Ring and still get them all wrong but since Marcel stinks to High Fromage. I'll do this now. ROF King of the Ring – September 2011 ROF Talisman Title Hugh de Aske © vs Nigel Svensson - A shocking switch back as Marcel keeps things interesting and unexpected in the Talisman Division. Either man could be gone from the federation sooner rather than later in the end I think they'll trade it back n' forth until some unexpected challenger rises up and snatches the title from these two. Possibly at RoF's Four Way Fray show. ROF Tag Team Titles Warriors of Honour © vs High and Low - WoH could easily lose to the surging High and Low but for some reason I think the Samurai Perogative Booking means WoH keeps the RoF tag titles for at least one more show. The King of the Ring match Billy Robinson, Burning EXILE, Dark Angel, Don Henderson, Greg Gauge, JD Morgan, Joss Thompson, Kashmir Singh, Kevin Jones, Marat Khoklov, Merle O’Curle, Oleg Dorosklov, Rolling Johnny Stones, Seraphym, Walter Morgan. - I'd like to do as in-depth a prediction as Tigerkinney but that's just not gonna happen. O'Curle and Dark Angel Double Elimination to set up the next target of DA's Path of Vengence. Greg Gauge shows well but Jobbos. Oleg makes a memorable (and early) debut in RoF but fails as much to to exhaustion as anything. Billy R starts early, ends late but doesn't win it while Danny D. cries into his packet of crisps. Final Four end up being - Joss Thompson, Marat Khoklov, RJS and Walter Morgan. Walter finishes second... again! Foolishly the three don't team up on Marat giving the Giant of the Midlands a chance to fight Jack 'Wrath of God' Giedroyc in a British Panto retelling of David and Goliath. :D ROF Championship Jack Giedroyc © vs UK Dragon - UK Dragon is good but his jet setting ways suggest putting the strap on him is dangerous at best. He's one match away from a major injury or complete exhaustion or signing a written deal in Japan. Jack Crashes On through the Dragon and his Drop.
And now I can get behind Kevin "Sex Bomb" Jones for a serious push in RoF! Or at least the occasional win.
Oh boy...'Sex Bomb' Kevin Jones. That might mean a necessary reunion with 'Hunk O Love' Jeremy Allen and a Monkey Business reunion. Nobody in their right mind wants that!! No prediction for King of the Ring? You retired from predicting after dragonmacking the last show then? Or are you going to use your new trick and predict (wrongly) after the show has taken place? :p And Stevie Stoat...yes, I was quite amused in the first place that I got a nomination for best heel in a dynasty for a wrestler that was already at that point long gone from a company with no face/heel divide in any case!

The report will be updated as the match progresses. The full card rundown will appear in the newsletter as normal. ______________________________ After the match rules were stated and out of the way, the crowd were ready to see who had drawn numbers 1 and 2. Rolling Johnny Stones drew #1. He looked anything but happy about it. But he stood ready in the ring to welcome the second entrant. Dark Angel drew #2. The winner of the last 2 years went straight after Dark Angel, and the early action was very high paced as the wrestlers bounced off the ropes and nailed a series of beautiful dropkicks. This continued through without either man trying to eliminate the other when the next man entered. Oleg Dorosklov drew #3. The Russian walked slowly to the ring and fans were wondering who he would help out. They soon got their answer as he joined Dark Angel (his colleague in INSPIRE) in going after Rolling Johnny Stones. The pair tried in vain to get Stones out, as he valiantly hung on to the ropes and looked back at the entrance way. Greg Gauge came in at #4. He watched what was going on, feigned to help Stones out, but then just sat back in the corner of the ring and left them to it. Stones continued to fight hard, and was close to getting Dark Angel out momentarily until Dorosklov intervened. Gauge continued to conserve his energy. Burning EXILE drew #5. He entered the ring and stared at Greg Gauge. Some of the older ROF fans remembered that the last time EXILE was here, he and Gauge were short-lived tag champions who never lost their titles when EXILE left the company. Gauge seemed to welcome EXILE in, but the Japanese athlete was having none of it and went after Gauge with a real fire. Gauge couldn’t control him until he bailed out of the ring. EXILE chased after him to continue the beating. Meanwhile Stones was still desperately trying to hang in there against Dorosklov and Dark Angel. Kevin Jones entered at #6. Finally Stones found some luck as the Welshman immediately helped him out against Dark Angel and Dorosklov. Jones and Stones succeeded with some basic double teaming on the INSPIRE duo. Meanwhile Gauge had fought back against EXILE and was gaining the upper hand in their battle. He still had a puzzled look about him though. Joss Thompson drew #7. The former 21CW champion was booed heavily by the crowd, and he took the entire 2 minutes to actually get to the ring as he spent plenty of time jaw-jacking with the front row. Meanwhile in the ring Dark Angel was hanging on for dear life against Stones, Jones and Dorosklov were fighting it out, and EXILE was making a comeback against Gauge. Still nobody had been eliminated. Don Henderson drew #8. He ran to the ring, catching Thompson with a clothesline just as he was getting into the ring himself. The Scot was fired up, and lit into Thompson, shouting ‘this is how we do it in ROF’ at him. Henderson clotheslined Thompson over the top, but the American just about hung on in there. The ring was getting full of bodies, and the same pairs were still fighting it out. Frankie Perez was a surprise entrant at #9, evidently replacing the injured Kashmir Singh. Again, some fans seemed to remember him from his short stint here a couple of years ago. He came in like a house on fire and hit some really stiff shots on Dorosklov and Jones as he interjected himself into their battle. Gauge and EXILE were still going at it. Henderson and Thompson were still going at it. Dark Angel and Johnny Stones continued to battle too, and Angel got the upper hand and nailed a Descent Into Hell. He then picked Stones up and threw him nonchalantly over the top, only for Stones to grab hold of Angel at the last moment and pull him with him. Angel fell to the floor, whilst Stones landed on the apron and dragged himself back in. Dark Angel is eliminated. Marat Khoklov entered at #10. The arena fell silent as the giant Russian headed down to the ring. He glanced at Angel on his way past, but that was his only sign of emotion as he got into the ring. He quickly grabbed hold of a groggy Kevin Jones and threw him easily out over the top. Kevin Jones is eliminated. Dorosklov was still battling away with Frankie Perez at this point and beckoned for his countryman to lend him a hand. Khoklov did, lifting Perez up easily in a military press and sending him flying over the top. Frankie Perez is eliminated. Greg Gauge and Burning EXILE were still at it on the other side of the ring. EXILE came off the top onto Gauge with a flying dropkick. Gauge struggled back to his feet and was immediately nailed with a Khoklov big boot over the top to the outside. Greg Gauge is eliminated. Burning EXILE, having seen his nemesis ousted, tried the big man out for size. He came down with another flying dropkick, which staggered Khoklov. Then he hit him with a flying axe handle, which again staggered him further. But the 3rd time he went to the top, Khoklov caught him coming down, and threw him out, straight on top of Gauge. Burning EXILE is eliminated. Khoklov and Dorosklov high-fived. Stones was lying flat out on one side of the ring. On the other, Thompson and Henderson continued to try and get each other out. Merle O’Curle entered at #11. O’Curle focused on Khoklov as he entered, and heard rare cheers from the fans who usually love to hate him. He immediately went after the big man, but had reckoned without Dorosklov. The former Olympian helped out his countryman and they took O’Curle down. Just as they were lifting him over the top, help came in the form of the revived Rolling Johnny Stones. He took out Khoklov’s legs with a low dropkick, bringing the former King of Fighters to his knees. With Dorosklov now more isolated, O’Curle saw his chance and suplexed him over the top to the floor. Oleg Dorosklov is eliminated. Stones and O’Curle looked at each other somewhat strangely and then looked at Khoklov. Meanwhile the hooter went again and JD Morgan entered at #12. Morgan entered the ring and saw Henderson and Thompson still grappling together by the ropes. Thompson finally managed to get Henderson up, over and out of the ring. Don Henderson is eliminated. Thompson celebrated by posing on first one turnbuckle and then another, where JD Morgan grabbed him and dumped him out of the ring. Joss Thompson is eliminated. Morgan then turned his attention to where O’Curle and Stones were taking it in turns to lay into the downed Khoklov. To further the rather strange alliance, Morgan joined O’Curle and Stones. Together they lifted Khoklov up and perched him on the 2nd turnbuckle. Then as Stones went on to the apron to pull, Morgan and O’Curle pushed the giant Russian backwards. He teetered and then toppled to the apron and then the floor. Marat Khoklov is eliminated. No sooner had they achieved this than O’Curle clotheslined Stones, who was still stood on the apron from their Khoklov manoeuvre. Stones fell to the arena floor and ensured a new King of the Ring would be crowned. Rolling Johnny Stones is eliminated. As soon as he went out, the hooter sounded. Walter Morgan entered at #13. He went after both JD Morgan and Merle O’Curle, as the 3 hard-hitting ROF stars tore into each other with a fury. No one was holding back, and nobody was trying to eliminate anyone in this period. It was simply fierce action, and the crowd lapped it up. Billy Robinson entered at #14. The man who drew #1 last year and nearly went all the way, looked confident of his chances as he entered. O’Curle cut him off as soon as he entered the ring. The two real-life enemies went at it, whilst the 2 Morgans continued their more friendly rivalry on the other side of the ring. O’Curle very nearly got Robinson out straight away, but the former 3-time Talisman champion held on. JD Morgan had Walter Morgan hanging on for dear life, but Walter managed to nail JD with some solid shots to the mid-section to help loosen JD’s strong grip. The hooter sounded for the final time and Seraphym entered at #15. Or at least Seraphym should have entered. Much like last year, he stalked his opponents without actually doing anything physical. He let the four men continue to beat the tar out of each other with a rather glazed smile on his face as he sat perched on the turnbuckle. The other four continued to duke it out manfully. JD Morgan was now working over O’Curle, and Walter Morgan was with Billy Robinson. Robinson actually managed to down Walter, and then spotted the idle Seraphym. Robinson appeared to ignore him, before turning quickly back and nailing Seraphym with some solid right hands as he was still perched up there. Robinson continued to rock the face-painted acolyte and got up on the turnbuckles himself to continue to work Seraphym over. Unfortunately for him, Walter Morgan had got up by now and came up behind Robinson and managed to dump him out of the ring. Billy Robinson is eliminated. A demonic ‘Noooo’ was heard from somewhere in the front row! The bell sounded as the last 4 participants were decided – O’Curle, JD Morgan, Walter Morgan and Seraphym. The 4 men each went to a corner. Unfortunately for Seraphym, he appeared to be the least popular man, as the other 3 all turned their attention to him and beat him to a pulp. JD Morgan seemed to win the right to earn the first victory in the 4-way elimination part of the match by applying the Cross Atlantic Stretch and Seraphym duly tapped. Seraphym is eliminated. No sooner had this happened, and JD was still prone himself on the floor, than O’Curle immediately locked JD in the Celtic Wreath. JD tried to fight it and inch towards the ropes. But on seeing this, Walter Morgan cut him off and applied a crossface at the same time as O’Curle still applied his Celtic Wreath. It was finally too much for JD, who caved in. JD Morgan is eliminated. The two ROF originals circled and looked at each other sternly. Walter Morgan raised a smile. O’Curle didn’t. They locked up as if it was the first moments of a singles match. They hit some mightily hard shots on one another and the match then turned into a suplex war. O’Curle started to get the upper hand and nailed a beautiful northern lights suplex for a 2 and a half count. He then signalled to the crowd that the end was near. And it was. As the Celtic Crippler went to put the Celtic Wreath on Morgan, the Wigan veteran rolled O’Curle up in a small package for the surprise 1, 2, 3. Merle O’Curle is eliminated. Twice the bridesmaid, Walter Morgan is now the 2011 King of the Ring!
