Good turn around this month. Nice to see Walter finally win the big one and Red Mafia losing the Tag Belts was a big shock, as I was convinced they were going to go on a long dominant run with them. The Talisman tournament went pretty much the way I though it would, with Matravers beating Lister in the final.

ROF Talisman Title [B]‘Mile High’ Adam Matravers ©[/B] vs ‘The Real Deal’ Chris Lister [I]I don't think Matravers title run will come to an end after just one defence and Lister has been pretty average so far. I just feel that this will eventually lead to a feud between Matravers and Barnes. Barnes didn't feature on the Cauldron shows this month either, so his jealousy levels will be increasing.[/I] Tag Team 3-way Elimination Can-Am SAS vs Cool Breeze vs [B]Injustice[/B] [I]One word to sum up the tag divison- Parity. Basically all these teams are near enough on the same level, and it's pretty much down to who is in form. Right now Injustice look like they are the ones in form, so I'll back them to win. Though to be honest until their recent run Injustice looked like the team that wasn't in the title mix but was above the jobber teams like Hell Above/Blue Chip Blondes.[/I] Don Henderson vs [B]Merle O’Curle[/B] [I]I'm tempted to go with a Henderson upset, but despite not being on top O'Curle is still THE MAN in ROF and I just feel that borderline main eventers like Henderson should get a few more wins over the likes of RJS before they get that big win over O'Curle.[/I] ROF Tag Team Titles [B]High and Low ©[/B] vs Red Mafia [I]It was a shock to see Red Mafia lose the titles and I think this would have angered/motivated them enough for them to destroy High and Low in the re-match. But they go overboard and the referee ends up throwing the match out, meaning that High and Low retain the belts[/I] [B]Rolling Johnny Stones[/B] vs UK Dragon This could legitimately go either way, but RJS appears to be on his way back towards another title shot and he'll get the win here. If he does not get a title match next month, then it'll happen the month after. ROF Championship [B]Walter Morgan ©[/B] vs Jack Giedroyc [I]I like the psychology of the set up here, with Giedroyc perhaps going in as the slight favourite, because of his better record against Walter.[/I][I]Plus the fact that Morgan hasn't really proved his worth as a champion, whilst another title switch wouldn't be completetly out the realms of possibility, I can't see you pulling the rug out from under Morgan and the Wigan Bull-Dog gets that big one on one win to kick start his title reign in style.[/I]

ROF Great Balls of Fire – June 2012 ROF Talisman Title ‘[B]Mile High’ Adam Matravers[/B] © vs ‘The Real Deal’ Chris Lister [I]Lister needs to show he is championship material, and this should be a good indicator of how he will stack up. But Matravers has earned a decent run.[/I] Tag Team 3-way Elimination [B]Can-Am SAS[/B] vs Cool Breeze vs Injustice [I]Can- Am SAS is higher on the pecking order and talent, so they win here to set up a title shot.[/I] Don Henderson vs [B]Merle O’Curle[/B] [I]O'Curle begins his path back to the title here.[/I] ROF Tag Team Titles [B]High and Low[/B] © vs Red Mafia [I]I can see Mafia destroying them and winning this back, but I think the winner will face Can-Am SAS soon and Can-AM will take the belts then. I see it more likely for Mafia to chase Can Am and their second reign will be truly epic, depending on contracts. So High and LOw find a way here so they can lose to Can-Am next month.[/I] Rolling Johnny Stones vs [B]UK Dragon[/B] [I]Dragon is due for a win here, and will go on to challenge for the title next month.[/I] ROF Championship [B]Walter Morgan[/B] © vs Jack Giedroyc [I]With Giedroyc always under threat of a written contract from TCW, assuming they have climbed back up, Morgan gets the nod here, and probably for a couple of more months, until he meets O'Curle.[/I]

ROF Great Balls of Fire – June 2012 ROF Talisman Title [B]‘Mile High’ Adam Matravers[/B] © vs ‘The Real Deal’ Chris Lister [I]The Real Deal is not yet the Real Deal, and Matravers deserves a longer than one title run.[/I] Tag Team 3-way Elimination [B]Can-Am SAS[/B] vs Cool Breeze vs Injustice [I]- Coz I'm Canadian and I mark for the Can half of this SASs.[/I] Don Henderson vs [B]Merle O’Curle[/B] [I]- Sorry Don. Like you. I like your story but as good as you are, you're not Merle.[/I] ROF Tag Team Titles [B]High and Low ©[/B] vs Red Mafia [I]- H n' L are the epitome of 'chasers' but even chasers need to enjoy the spoils of their success. I don't think H n' L will enjoy a long reign but they've earned more than a month long reign. How they accomplish this, I have NO idea.[/I] [B]Rolling Johnny Stones[/B] vs UK Dragon [I]- UK is still a bit groggy, less groggy than usual. Oh, and I think RJS has more upside. I dunno. I'm speculating.[/I] ROF Championship [B]Walter Morgan ©[/B] vs Jack Giedroyc [I]- Coz I don't want Walter to lose the title this early. The always almost-man deserves a bit of a run. More than a High n' Low term with the belt.[/I]

[QUOTE=Tigerkinney;366771] [I]One word to sum up the tag divison- Parity. Basically all these teams are near enough on the same level, and it's pretty much down to who is in form.[/I] [/QUOTE] Actually, that's what I'm aiming at. I want the majority of teams to be seen as on an equal footing so that conceivably any of them could beat any other at any given time. In terms of skill levels they're pretty similar. And while Warriors of Honour are taking a bit of a powder while Samurai dealt with the Dark Angel stuff, it's a good chance for the other teams to show what they've got. [QUOTE=Dragonmack;366810]ROF Championship [B]Walter Morgan[/B] © vs Jack Giedroyc [I]With Giedroyc always under threat of a written contract from TCW, assuming they have climbed back up, Morgan gets the nod here, and probably for a couple of more months, until he meets O'Curle.[/I][/QUOTE] I actually have a deal in place with TCW, so they're not likely to steal anyone away from me anytime soon. Same with NOTBPW. And with SWF at Cult level, the only danger of losing Giedroyc right now would be if BHOTWG offered him a deal, or if his star rose too much to re-sign for me at Cult level (which nearly happened last time his contract came up and is what happened with Dark Angel). Of course, if he did take a PPA deal with TCW on, I'd hit the problem I have with Greg Gauge, which is that he's never available for my TV shows, but is there for most PPVs. So in a worst case scenario, Giedroyc could still make a major monthly appearance. In an un-related point, I'm now completely caught up in the diary to where I actually am in the game. I have the next newsletter ready for after Great Balls of Fire, and that's it. I haven't had chance to play the game in the past month! So if diary entries slow down shortly, that's why. I'm hoping to get a bit played this week, and then I'm off work the week after so should get a bit more done then.

How are you doing?[/B] [I]SN: I’m good. Looking forward to getting another tag title shot. We’ve been far too long without those belts.[/I] AC: You’re damn right, Shane. We’ve been setting the standard for tag team excellence in ROF for a while now, and yet we’ve had nothing to show for that lately. [B]JB: Well, this weekend you get a chance in the 3-way tag match against Injustice and Cool Breeze. How do you rate your chances?[/B] [I]SN: We’re the ones with the pedigree – the only former tag champs in the match. And hopefully that know-how will see us get the job done in style.[/I] AC: Bottom line – we’re the best team in the match – we’re winning it. [B]JB: Presuming you win the match, who would you like to face in the title match – High and Low or Red Mafia?[/B] [I]SN: Honestly, I don’t mind. If you want to be the best team, you have to beat the best teams. So it shouldn’t matter who we face for the title.[/I] AC: Stop being so goody-two-shoes, Shane. We want to face High and Low. That’s the easier match. [B]JB: You guys strike me as being quite different. How come you ended up teaming?[/B] [I]SN: It was a case of opportunity arising. We were both looking to try-out for a position in ROF because dates had dried up across the pond. And the tag ranks seemed a more likely avenue for success. And neither of us was a stranger to being in a decent tag team.[/I] AC: We have the same goals. Shane here might be a bit of a pretty boy, but he’s a reliable pretty boy and I know he’s got my back. He has the style, I have the submission. It works. And it’ll work this weekend. Injustice…Cool Breeze….the SAS is coming after you. And if one half don’t get you… [I]SN: …the other will[/I].[/QUOTE] [CENTER][QUOTE][IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/JustinBlachamROF-1.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/InjusticeROF.jpg[/IMG][/CENTER] [B]JB: You two are real stalwarts here in ROF now. But you’ve not really tasted major success in your time here. Is that about to change?[/B] [I]EF: Define ‘success’. I’ve been tag champion here. I’d say that was pretty damn successful.[/I] [B]JB: And Keith?[/B] KA: You see, you’re doing what most of the ROF fans do. You just haven’t got a clue. Eric Future and Keith Adams are vital members of the ROF roster. We’re the glue that holds this promotion together, yet we keep on getting overlooked. I noticed the other day on our fan forum that one idiot was saying that we’re little better than a jobber team. He was comparing us to no-hopers like Blue Chip Blondes. At least he predicted we’d win this weekend, so at least he’s got some sense. [B]JB: But your results would suggest that you’re not in the upper tier of tag teams here.[/B] KA: Our results…our results. I’ll bet if you look through your little match rating thing you do, you’ll find that our matches stack up very well against the other tag teams. We’re the quality of the tag division, but we’ve been unlucky with results. Plus, things work against us – look at the trios tournament, for example. Who was the team that got stuck with the geriatric? Yeah, Injustice. [B]JB: You’ve been on better form lately though and scored a big win over Cool Breeze last time out. Is this your time to rise to the top?[/B] [I]EF: Yeah, we’ll prove this weekend that we’re tag title material, we’ll go on to take the tag straps and then nobody can say we’ve not tasted success. After all, the future of tag team wrestling is right here.[/I] KA: It’s time for Can-Am SAS and Cool Breeze to face the best team in ROF. And when it’s all said and done, I’ll be able to say - you faced The Law…and The Law won. Interview terminated 16:00.[/QUOTE] [CENTER][QUOTE][IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/JustinBlachamROF-1.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/CoolBreezeROF.jpg[/IMG][/CENTER] [B]JB: Big match coming up this weekend. You ready?[/B] The other JB: Hey, I was born ready. 3-way elimination tag? It’s going to be a breeze for Cool Breeze. [B]JB: You did suffer a loss to Injustice on this week’s Cauldron though. Does it bother you that you seem to be lacking momentum going into the match?[/B] [I]LC: It doesn’t worry me. How about you, Joe? You worried?[/I] The other JB: Nah. I’ve got better things to worry about. Who am I kidding? I’ve nothing to worry about – s**t happens, Justin. [B]JB: You’re really still waiting to make your mark here in ROF as a team. You did win the Trios Tournament back in February though. How did that feel?[/B] [I]LC: Yeah, that was a cool moment. UK Dragon was a great partner.[/I] The other JB: Hey…Dragon was a great partner? How about, ‘Joey was a great partner’? [I]LC: Yeah, that too. But on top of the victory, it was good for me especially to wrestle two matches in one night – it was a real test to see if my neck could hold up after my bad injury.[/I] The other JB: Oh man, here we go. You always get the conversation around to your pain in the neck! [I]LC: Yeah, you’re right…I noticed you started speaking again![/I] The other JB: Funny. [B]JB: So what are your chances this weekend at Great Balls Of Fire?[/B] The other JB: 1 in 3. [B]JB: Is that it?[/B] The other JB: (shrugs) Maths isn’t my strong point, but I reckon so. SAS are a decent team – they have a chance. Even The Moaning Minnies have a chance. [I]LC: We’ll give it our best shot and see what happens. But whether we win, lose or draw, one thing’s for sure. I am Cool.[/I] The other JB: I am the Breeze. Man, that rhyme thing you did there, Luke… [I]LC: Yeah?[/I] The other JB: Not cool. [I]LC: I thought it was catchy.[/I] The other JB: Don’t think then.[/QUOTE]

He's getting up there and I'd think he would be a nice replacement for Dark Angel in the ME scene. [b]ROF Great Balls of Fire – June 2012 ROF Talisman Title ‘Mile High’ Adam Matravers ©[/b] vs ‘The Real Deal’ Chris Lister C'mon, Matravers has been champion for how long? A month? As much as I like Tobi Juan, it's not time. [b]Tag Team 3-way Elimination[/b] [b]Can-Am SAS[/b] vs Cool Breeze vs Injustice Beauchamp is way too talented for tag teams. Give that man a main event run! [b]Don Henderson[/b] vs Merle O’Curle I'll go with the upset. [b]ROF Tag Team Titles High and Low ©[/b] vs Red Mafia High and Low don't have much luck. I hope they have luck here. [b]Rolling Johnny Stones[/b] vs UK Dragon UK Dragon has a permanent place. Stones has been somewhat non descript as of late, so maybe he'll start rising again. [b]ROF Championship[/b] Walter Morgan © vs [b]Jack Giedroyc[/b] I can't understand why people love the guy. I'm not a fan at all of Walter Morgan's, have never liked the guy and LOVE Giedroyc. The first time I played TEW I played as DAVE and put the belt on Giedroyc first show. Anyway, go Wrath Of God!

Or will High and Low make another successful defence?[/I] [IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/DonHendersonROF.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/VSborder.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/RollingJohnnyStonesROF.jpg[/IMG] [FONT="Century Gothic"][SIZE="3"]Don Henderson vs Rolling Johnny Stones[/SIZE][/FONT] [I]These two ROF stalwarts are very much men with momentum in 2012. Henderson emerged from the midcard with his Trios performance early in the year and has had his first taste of an ROF main event. Last week on Cauldron he scored a very impressive win over Hugh de Aske in possibly his best match to date. Stones has quietly been getting back to his best form and racking up a series of impressive wins himself. This is a rankings match – which ROF star will make their case as a really credible title challenger?[/I] [IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/WalterMorganROF.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/VSborder2.jpg[/IMG][IMG]http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k225/MarcelFromage/ROF/Wrestler%20Pics/MerleOCurleROF.jpg[/IMG] [U][FONT="Georgia"][SIZE="3"]ROF Championship[/SIZE][/FONT][/U] [FONT="Century Gothic"][SIZE="3"]Walter Morgan © vs Merle O’Curle[/SIZE][/FONT] [I]Walter Morgan showed his mettle as ROF champ with his hard-fought win over Jack Giedroyc at Great Balls of Fire. Now he must fight another demon – he has never managed to beat Merle O’Curle in singles competition before, as O’Curle has won all 6 previous bouts between the two men. However the last of those was over a year ago, and Morgan has certainly improved both in the ring and mentally as champion. Can O’Curle win back the belt he still feels is rightfully his? Or can Morgan keep his reign going?[/I] ______________________________[/CENTER] [B]ROF Heat of Battle – July 2012[/B] Billy Robinson vs Dan Judoka [U]ROF Talisman Title[/U] Adam Matravers © vs Nigel Svensson JD Morgan vs Louis Figo Manico [U]ROF Tag Team Titles[/U] High and Low © vs Can-Am SAS Don Henderson vs Rolling Johnny Stones [U]ROF Championship[/U] Walter Morgan © vs Merle O’Curle

Victory here means he should have it for a while, a loss means he was just a transitional champion. Since betting odds favor O'Curle winning it back, I am going with the booker swerve and Morgan retaining.[/I]

[B]Billy Robinson [/B]vs Dan Judoka [I]Robinson never really looked like losing the Talisman Belt anytime soon before his injury and I don't think he will coming out on the losing end to a tag teamer in his comeback match.[/I] ROF Talisman Title [B]Adam Matravers ©[/B] vs Nigel Svensson [I]Whilst I don't think Matravers will lose the belt here, he needs to put in a good performance if he wants to stay in the singles ranks long term after stringing together some disappointing performances over the last month. The D+ with Judoka on Cauldron must have really stunk the joint up.[/I] [B]JD Morgan[/B] vs Louis Figo Manico [I]If LFM was 5 years younger, I would have picked him as he could have been built up as legitimate main event threat. As it is, he's near enoug the same age as JD and just a solid veteran addition to the mid-card at this stage in his career.[/I] ROF Tag Team Titles [B]High and Low ©[/B] vs Can-Am SAS [I]Whilst it would be tempting to go for the title switch here, I think High and Low will start to really prove their worth as Champions and pull out victory to retain the belts.[/I] [B]Don Henderson[/B] vs Rolling Johnny Stones [I]RJS is just the sort of lower tier main eventer that Henderson should be beating to build himself up as legitimate title contender, without looking like you are suddenly giving him a GOD push. [/I] [I]I know Stones was champ a few years back, but to me he's a lower tier main eventer, someone who can get pushed right to the top, but can easily drop back down to putting an up and comer over.[/I] ROF Championship Walter Morgan © vs [B]Merle O’Curle[/B] [I]This one literally could go either way. But I think O'Curle will win the belt back[/I] [I]Here's my reasons why[/I] [I]1. For me the storyline was in the chase for Morgan, he was the ROF mainstay who couldn't quite win the big one. The fan's wanted to see it but he kept coming up short.[/I] [I]2. It's actually been a while now since O'Curle (arguably the biggest icon in ROF- as in the man who most represents what the promotion is all about) held the ROF Gold.[/I] [I]3. I just like the idea of O'Curle being the man Morgan can't quite beat and that being the next hurdle for the Wigan Bull-Dog to overcome.[/I]

ROF Heat of Battle – July 2012 [B]Billy Robinson[/B] vs Dan Judoka Welcome back Billy, with the return of Billy is the return of my full predictions again (been non stop at work n life) It will also make the DannyDemon/Beeker fued start again I'm sure. Billy wins easily and starts his real rise to the top. ROF Talisman Title [B]Adam Matravers ©[/B] vs Nigel Svensson Barnes/Matravers is on the cards so Adam keeps it. JD Morgan vs [B]Louis Figo Manico[/B] A big win pushes Figo up the card a bit to the Talisman area. ROF Tag Team Titles [B]High and Low ©[/B] vs Can-Am SAS High & Low keep the belts for a red hot high flying fued with Cool Breeze [B]Don Henderson[/B] vs Rolling Johnny Stones Another win to get Don a little higher up the card. ROF Championship [B]Walter Morgan © [/B]vs Merle O’Curle Dont like him but dont see him losing yet.

[B][COLOR="Red"]ROF Heat of Battle – July 2012[/COLOR][/B] Billy Robinson vs [B]Dan Judoka[/B] [I]- and again Danny D. n' I argue about Billy R. For this reason for me, Judoka will breakaway from British Oldfry at some point. This will be the first chink in that division. And... it'll irk Danny D.[/I] ROF Talisman Title [B]Adam Matravers ©[/B] vs Nigel Svensson [I]- I like Nigel, a lot, but unless Marcel is shipping Adam back to the tag team ranks and abandoning the tension of Matravers/Barnes then... Adam wins.[/I] JD Morgan vs [B]Louis Figo Manico[/B] [I]- Coz I mark for Louis.[/I] ROF Tag Team Titles High and Low © vs [B]Can-Am SAS[/B] [I]- Every part of me thinks H n' L will win but... I mark for Can-Am (aka Nelson) and this would solidify the parity of the tag teamery division.[/I] Don Henderson vs [B]Rolling Johnny Stones[/B] [I]- I do like Don, truly, I do. But RJS has more upside than Don and is rolling towards a main event shot of Walt's title.[/I] ROF Championship [B]Walter Morgan © [/B]vs Merle O’Curle [I]- I don't care at all if Merle's better, Merle needs a better story to grab the RoF title than... 'uh gotta match with Walt n' I won.' If anything this could easily end up a double DG or count-out.[/I]

ROF Heat of Battle – July 2012 Billy Robinson vs [B]Dan Judoka[/B] Dan Judoka begins his singles push here. ROF Talisman Title [B]Adam Matravers[/B] © vs Nigel Svensson If you didn't take the belt of Matravers during his (too) short feud with Lister, I see no reason to do it here. JD Morgan vs [B]Louis Figo Manico[/B] Louis continues his push to the Title. ROF Tag Team Titles [B]High and Low[/B] © vs Can-Am SAS [B]Don Henderson[/B] vs Rolling Johnny Stones Isn't it time for RJS to hit the road? ROF Championship [B]Walter Morgan[/B] © vs Merle O’Curle

Since then, High and Low managed to scrape past Red Mafia in their first defence, and then beat Can-Am SAS last time out. In 4 previous singles meetings, JD Morgan has won the lot. [QUOTE=Dragonmack;372247][B]Merle O’Curle[/B] vs Rolling Johnny Stones [I]The Celtic God of Wrestling begins his climb back into the title picture. I am surprised this match is so far down the card though.[/I][/QUOTE] There's actually logic behind the card placement. Generally speaking, my cards tend to open with a reasonable bout, the 2nd is slightly less good and the third picks things up. The 4th usually brings things down a bit (and is often the tag title match), the 5th is a good semi-main and the main event should hopefully be the best match on the card. I think on every PPV I've run so far, the main event has been either the best or equal best match - only exception was when Giedroyc vs Dark Angel only scored a B-. So...O'Curle and Stones have scored an A* before. It's possible if I put them on 5th that they'd hit the A* and the title match would struggle to match it, which would bring the show rating down. If I put it on 3rd, it matters less what their rating is. They could get an A*, although it's less likely with the less momentum, or something a bit lower and I could still build up to a similar quality or better main event, thus ensuring the card peaks at the right moment.

[B]Billy Robinson[/B] vs Greg Gauge [I]I think D-Mack had it spot on with So Solid over 'Just visiting'[/I] ROF Talisman Title [B]Adam Matravers ©[/B] vs Nigel Svensson [I]I think the draw was just extending this mini feud out a bit and that Matravers will pull out the win this time. I still think this is eventually heading towards Matravers-Barnes.[/I] Merle O’Curle vs [B]Rolling Johnny Stones[/B] [I]Difficult one to call, as it's always difficult to back against O'Curle. But he's just had his shot and RJS has been out of the title picture for a while, so I'm going to back Stones to pull of the mild upset.[/I] [I]O'Curle's had these mini slumps before, so he can easily recover from losing to someone the calibre of Stones next month. [/I] ROF Tag Titles 3-way Elimination High and Low © vs [B]Can-Am SAS[/B] vs Red Mafia [I]Perfect match for the title to change hands on. The two smaller teams will work together to eliminate Red Mafia, then Can-Am will get the better of High and Low.[/I] [B]Don Henderson[/B] vs JD Morgan [I]Morgan has fallen to the role of 'Gatekeeper' and Henderson needs a few more wins over established top tier talent to cement his spot in the upper echelon of the card.[/I] ROF Championship [B]Walter Morgan ©[/B] vs Jack Giedroyc [I]I feel that if Walter was going to have a 'cup of coffee' title run, it would have ended last month against O'Curle. So I see him holding onto the title here and perhaps holding onto it until at-least the 4-way match at Pyromania in December.[/I]
