The WWE has been in a rough patch lately. Ratings are down, storylines are sour, fans are getting tired of the same champ(RAW), and a champ who can't wrestle(Smackdown!). People are saying to themselves, this has to change, it can't stay like this forever, and the WWE will eventually be back on top delivering the fantastic storylines we're all used to. But for 6 years, ever since the botched invasion angle, 6 full years the WWE has been on a rapid decline. ECW on Sci-Fi has been cancelled. The horribly low ratings and the fact that they only have 13 active wrestlers on the roster is insane, Sci-Fi has in effect cancelled the show. The string of bad luck they are enduring is incredible, but one day, they will rise again... Below is a review of the recent happenings on the RAW and SD! brands of the WWE.. [COLOR="Red"]RAW has been up and down lately. You think they have a great storyline running AKA the Vince Mcmahon death angle, or Vince Mcmahon bastard child angle, but they always seem to blow it in the end with bad booking. We've had the same champion for over a year, which fans were starting to fully resent. Unfortunately John Cena has recently been injured, leaving the WWE Championship up for grabs. Injuries and suspensions have plauged the RAW main event scene leaving superstars such as King Booker, Bobby Lashley and Shawn Micheals all on the shelf. Hopefully they can kick in in gear and get things running smooth again[/COLOR] What can you say about the Smackdown brand of the WWE?. Do they have good in ring workers?, yes. Do they have good entertaining performers?, somewhat. Do they have great storylines, a good booking team and anything remotely entertaining?, no. The Smackdown brand was forced to endure a World Heavyweight championship run by the Great Khali after there hottest ticket, Edge was overcome with an injury. This was probably the darkest hour in SD! history. Thankfully the titles is back on someone the fans can actually respect as somewhat of a real wrestler in Batista, but the situation on SD! still is bleak at best. The tag division is amazingly weak, and there are no real contenders for the World Heavyweight Championship. Although there is some strong competition between wrestlers, most notably between the tag team champions Matt Hardy and MVP. These two don't like eachother one bit, but there chemistry as tag champs is too hard to ignore. But you can believe that Hardy will be gunning for that WWE U.S. Championship. After ECW's death, there is yet hope for these superstars, as Raw and Smackdown will tonight divide up their superstars. Where are John Morrison, Elijah Burke, Tommy Dreamer and others going to be after tonight's show? And what will happen to CM Punk and the ECW World Championship? Beth & Candice haven't been getting along lately, and tonight's tag match gives each the opportunity to upstage the other, as Candice & Mickie James take on Melina & Beth. Also tonight, RAW GM William Regal has signed a huge 6 man tag pitting Umaga, King Booker and Carlito against Super Crazy, Jeff Hardy and the rookie Cody Rhodes. Will Rhodes' relative inexperience hinder his team or could they pull out a surprise tonight? Update: I've written up RAW on paper (just waiting for files) and I'm fairly happy with it, I think it puts the points across quite well. I've looked at the scheduele and No Mercy is at the end of the first week, so forgive me if the card is a little rushed!

[COLOR="Red"]"Let's get straight down to business, because I can't stand looking at you hicks for much longer!" [COLOR="Black"](Cue massive boos.)[/COLOR] "The WWE Championship has been vacated." [COLOR="Black"](A Huge mix of cheers and boos, seems we still have the Cena-haters out in force.)[/COLOR] "And I suppose you're wondering when we get to see the title decided. Well I'll tell you when. It is [U]not[/U] tonight. [COLOR="black"](More boos)[/COLOR] [color="Black"][I]Vince ignores this, and goes straight into it.[/I][/color] "There will be a tournament, culminating at Survivor Series, to crown the new champion. 8 of Raw's most elite superstars will face off to determine the rightful champion, and after No Mercy, I shall decide who is in the tournament. As to what will happen with ECW: the backstage staff's destinations will be decided next week after the active roster's new shows are chosen. [B][COLOR="red"](C)[/COLOR][/B] Jillian gets in to the ring and promises a special treat to all her fans: an impromptu song. The audience groan loudly as she launches into a rendition of Kelis' 'Milkshake', trying to dance seductively, but looking like a two-dollar ho while doing it. Behind her, Mickie and Candice cringe, Melina covers her ears, while Beth glares at the back of Jillian's head. As Jillian turns around to gauge the reaction of the audience, she catches site of Beth looking murderously at her, and falters mid-song. Beth walks up to her, and Jillian, obviously terrified, hands the microphone to Beth. [COLOR="Magenta"]"Jillian, you're the referee, right?"[/COLOR] She says with menace, as Jillian nods. [COLOR="magenta"]"Then shut the hell up, and do your job!"[/COLOR] Beth says to a pop fro the audience, thankful for having been saved by Beth's intervention. Jillian rings the bell. There are periods of control against both sides, but Candice & Beth never properly duke it out. Jillian seems reluctant to break up any illegal activity from Beth, which forces Candice to pull her off choking Mickie a few times. When Beth is in the ring with Mickie, with Mickie building up big momentum, a Melina knee in the back stops her dead, but Candice runs and tackles Melina out of the ring. Back in the ring, Beth has Mickie up for a press slam, but Mickie slips out of it and sets up for the Mick Kick. However, Beth catches her leg, and, with a slightly offsetting smile and shake of the hand, lifts Mickie up for the [B]Down In Flames Slam[/B] (Michinoku Driver). Candice is too late to break up the pin. [B][COLOR="RoyalBlue"]Beth & Melina def. Beth snaps her fingers, indicating that it only takes 3 seconds for Candice to lose her title, and shines up the titleplate before placing it on Candice's shoulder with a smug smile, and leaves the ring, with Candice looking on shellshocked. The King and Carlito look ill at ease with each other, and, when Maria mentions the WWE Title Tournament, she obviously hits a sore spot, as the King and Carlito insult each other over their suitability, Maria giggles and asks how they're going to get along tonight. Booker replies that tonight is a mere formality, so Carlito better not bungle it up. As Carlito goes to reply, he finds the King has already walked off in a different direction, and so walks off in the opposite direction, leaving Maria alone. Bring on the victim. Orton goes for a clothesline, but Val ducks it and hits him with a Spin-Out Powerbomb, and heads up top. [B]Money Shot![/B] . . . but Orton moves, quick as a cat . . . [B]RKO![/B] 1, 2, 3! And he does, by planting a Knee to the Head of Snitsky and a Face Buster. They wind up in the corner, and Triple H sets Snitsky up for the 10 Punches, until he catches sight of Mr. McMahon, strutting down to ringside. Snitsky takes advantage and hits a powerbomb for a close call. After a bit more back and forth action again, Triple H drills Snitsky with a Spinebuster and looks to set up for the Pedigree, but Vince gets on the apron, yet again distracted with him. While the ref tries to force him off the apron, Triple H turns around and barely ducks the [B]Big Boot![/B] While the referee is still distracted, he takes advantage and kicks Snitsky straight in the crotch! [B]Pedigree!![/B] Snitsky's undefeated streak is at a close! [B][COLOR="royalblue"]Triple H def. He also announces that in a match of former Extremists, tonight Tommy Dreamer & Balls Mahoney will face Kevin Thorn & John Morrison. This wasn't the best match, and to be honest, I expected better of it. However, Balls & Dreamer have great chemistry as a team and John Morrison shined throughout, so I can't complain. Even with his athletic ability though, Morrison just couldn't put Dreamer away, so as Kevin Thorn distracted the referee, [B]he hit Dreamer in the head with a steel chair[/B]. Rhodes doesn't fare much better, mostly playing the face-in-peril, teasing hot tags to Hardy. He eventually does, and, with the help of Super Crazy, launches a spectacular aerial offence on the opponents, which puts Hardy in the driving seat. However, Booker manages to hit Jeff with a belly-to-belly suplex, and, even worse for Jeff, gets snared in the clutches of Umaga. As Umaga holds Jeff in position, Booker goes for a superkick and . . hits Umaga!! Booker and Carlito look on in shock. Carlito goes to try and get the big man up, but Super Crazy darts into the ring and Baseball Slides Carlito, sending him straight into Umaga! Umaga slowly gets up, and sees Carlito behind him, pretty quickly coming to the conclusion that it was him who attacked him. Carlito sees this, and, tries to reason with him. Big mistake, as Umaga runs straights after Carlito, who runs around ringside, trying to evade him, or else being the Samoan Bulldozer's plaything. Inside the ring, as Booker watches this happening, Cody sneaks in, turns Booker around and plants him with a huge [B]DDT![/B] Jeff, the legal man, heads up top . . [B]Swanton Bomb![/B] 1, 2, 3!! Huge upset! [B][COLOR="RoyalBlue"]Jeff Hardy, Super Crazy and Cody Rhodes def. Umaga, King Booker and Carlito via pinfall.[/COLOR][/B] [COLOR="Red"][B](B-)[/B][/COLOR] -------------------------------------- But as soon as the bell rings, Umaga comes back in to the ring after Carlito, and the faces quickly go to the outside. Umaga looks to have cornered Carlito, but Carlito escapes and runs through the crowd. But King Booker is still in the ring. Getting him slowly, he sees Umaga and his anger, and runs yelling straight after Carlito, hightailing it through the crowd while Umaga gives chase!! [COLOR="red"][B](B+)[/B][/COLOR] Final Rating: [B]B-[/B] Notes: [i]This should have increased popularity, apparently. Vince was used too much. I'm prepared to tak the dip in ratings for a while because it takes time to build up characters, so it's gonna get better, don't worry. I'm a little worried at how much overness Carlito seems to have lost tonight, but it'll come back.[/i] Comments anyone? After the sudden death of ECW, there are some new faces on the SD! roster after a draft was held on Monday Night RAW!. Former ECW World Champion CM Punk among others joined the team!, What impact will they have this upcoming Friday on Smackdown!?. After what tragically happened to SD! GM Theodore Long on last weeks edition, acting GM Vickie Guerrero will make a few announcements regarding the current situation on SD! and has also promise she will make the final card for No Mercy this Sunday! World Champion Batista dose'nt know who he's facing at No Mercy, and he has said he will be addressing the entire locker room this Friday regarding his championship situation. Who will he call out?, will there be certain superstars on his list who he wants to face?. [B][SIZE="4"][COLOR="Blue"]Batista Finds His Contender![/COLOR][/SIZE][/B] [I]Arco Arena, LA-[/I] [FONT="Book Antiqua"]Smackdown! kicks off with it's usual opening video and pyro display. We are promptly welcome to the show by announcer Micheal Cole and Colour Commentator JBL. Telling us we have a huge night coming up, only two days away from No Mercy. They run down tonights card, tell us that acting GM Vickie Guerrero will make the No Mercy main event tonight, and they let us know that the champ Batista is in the house!...[/FONT] [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Vickie Addresses The Fans[/COLOR][/U][/B] Acting GM Vickie Guerrero kicked off this weeks edition of SD!, to a chorus of cheers and "eddie, eddie!" chants. When she first stepped in the ring, you could tell that she was both amazed and happy that she was where she was. Although this was her first time in a position of power, she wasn't nervous and got right down to business. She lets the fans know about Theodore Longs health situation. She says that Long has just been released from the hospital from his heart attack and that he and wife Krystal are in there Atlanta home resting, she wished the best for Long and hoped he could make a speedy recovery back. She wanted everyone to know she would try to continue the same great job that Long was doing on SD! and she hopes to expand on her role as active GM to bring the fans the best entertainment they could. [I](cheap pop)[/I] Then, she addressed the No Mercy Situation. She told the fans that she was aware that the World Champion Batista had no contender for his title at No Mercy, but that all changed once she made her shocking announcement. That at No Mercy we will see Batista defending his World Heavyweight Championship against the Deadman, The Undertaker!! The fans go nuts, Vickie thanked everyone, then went to the back leaving Cole and JBL to talk about what a main event was just made! [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]The Animal Is Angry[/COLOR][/U][/B] Returning from the commercial break, we see Vickie Guerrero on the phone being congratulated by Mr. McMahon himself on what a great job she had done. But her happiness soon turned to fear as the Animal, Batista burst into her office. She quickly hung up with Mr. McMahon and Batista let her know that he was furious that she gave the Undertaker another title shot that he didn't deserve, one that he didn't even earn. Vickie then explained to the Animal that there was only one person suitable for a title shot right now, and that was the Phenom. She said she knew that Batista would roll over anyone else on the SD! roster and the Undertaker would supply him with a good challenge. However, Batista didn't quite approve of this as he just stared at her with cold eyes, and angrily stormed out her office, leaving her shocked and dazed.. [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Finlay Vs. Ric Flair[/COLOR][/U][/B] [FONT="Book Antiqua"][COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]WOOOO! Was this crowd ever excited to see the Nature Boy, Ric Flair return to Smackdown! He was going up against the fighting Irishman, Finlay, and boy these old timers didn't dissapoint. The match that most people expected was a real technical bout, but the fans got a big brawl on there hands. They could tell these two men didn't like eachother and it showed during the match. Lots of punches, illegal techniques and all out brawling was used during this one. The end came when Ric Flair whipped Finlay into the turnbuckle, invertingly knocking down the ref. Flair then got Finlay down in the figure four leg lock, but he had it locked on in the wrong part of the ring, right where Finlay could reach his shillelagh. Finlay promptly hit Flair in the head with it, hit him with the Celtic Cross, awoke the referee and got the 1-2-3 on Flair. [/COLOR][/FONT] [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]MVP's V.I.P Lounge[/COLOR][/U][/B] MVP held his VIP lounge this week. And of course, he effectively barred Matt Hardy from ringside. He was joined by beautiful girls, some close friends, and of course, drinks. The entire course of the segment involved MVP degrading Matt Hardy. Saying he was embarassed and disgusted to be a tag team champion with such a loser, someone who will never win a major World Title in his career, someone who will never has as much money as MVP, have any of the beautiful women, or be as smart as he is!. This of course, led Matt Hardy out to the ring, but Hardy was unable to enter as MVP beefed up security this week. So Hardy got on the mic, and told MVP that he could have just as much fun as he could... [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]The Throwbacks Are Angry[/COLOR][/U][/B] Once again, acting GM Vickie Guerrero was the subject of anger, as Deuce And Domino this time burst into her office, demanding that she listen to them. They told her that they deserve a match with MVP and Hardy being the former tag champs and all. And they will do whatever it takes for them to get another shot. Vickie then tells them that if they win there match tonight against, The Major Brothers, she may consider giving them another shot at the Tag Titles. [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Hispanic Pride?[/COLOR][/U][/B] Former friends Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero were involved in another heated incident this week. Rey was in his dressing room preparing for his match against Mark Henry when Chavo walked in with a few words for Rey. He told Rey that he should'nt even go out there and get destroyed by Henry, that Rey was a disgrace to the hispanic culture and it's no wonder that the late great Eddie Guerrero had no respect for him. Rey however, didn't make a response. He just stared into the eyes of Chavo, and walked out of the dressing room, leaving Chavo confused as to why he didn't retaliate. [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]The Throwbacks Vs. The Majors[/COLOR][/U][/B] [FONT="Book Antiqua"][COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]Deuce and Domino effectively destroyed the Major Brothers. It wasn't even a contest as they got the pinfall in about 3 minutes and 20 seconds. After the match Deuce and Domino made it clear to the GM Vickie Guerrero and to all the fans that they will once again be on top of the Tag Team mountain whether they all like it or not![/COLOR][/FONT] [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Torrie, Hugh, Again?[/COLOR][/U][/B] Torrie Wilson comes out to the ring and announces once again that she would be on the cover of Playboy Magazine. This of course gets a huge pop from the males in the crowd. She then tells the audience what an honor it is to once again be on the cover of playboy, she poses for awhile, and then leaves to a decent pop. [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Flair, Finlay, No Mercy[/COLOR][/U][/B] The Nature Boy wasn't done for the night. He walked into Finlays locker room with the most serious look we've seen on the Nature boys face in a long time. Of course Finlay was expecting a fight, but Flair just talked. He told Finlay how he used to be the dirtiest player in the game, how Finlay did out there what he used to do, how Flair just wasn't on top of his game anymore and he dosen't know if he can go out there and do what he used to. He tells Finlay that he wants him in a match, and that this match will be a holds barred match, and match with no rules, that he can showcase why they call him the dirtiest player in the game, and if he loses this match, he will retire!!! Finlay promptly excepts the challenge, saying it would be a pleasure to end Flairs career, and make him bleed while doing it... [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Elijah Burke Vs. Funaki[/COLOR][/U][/B] The Debuting Elijah Burke made his prescence known on his trip back to SD!. He told the fans that last time he was on SD! he was held back by former GM Theodore Long and never given the chance that he deserved. He tells the audience that this is Burke country, and it's only a matter of time before you find gold around his waist. [FONT="Book Antiqua"][COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]Funaki then comes to the ring for there scheduled match, it's over in less than two minutes as Burke just dominated, getting the W[/COLOR][/FONT] [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Students, Your Class Is In Session[/COLOR][/U][/B] Matt Striker appeared in a backstage interview segment, hyping the debut of Big Daddy V. He told everyone of the impact that V had on the ECW roster and nothing would change here on SD!. He told everyone that there is a new era of dominance, and thats the Big Daddy V era, and everyone should be getting ready to go to school! [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Rey Mysterio Vs. Mark Henry[/COLOR][/U][/B] [FONT="Book Antiqua"][COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]In a match that many expected Mark Henry to dominate, Rey Mysterio actually held his own during the match. But everytime Mysterio would mount some sort of offense, Henry would use his power to get on the offensive. Eventually during the match though, Mysterio set up Henry for the 6-1-9 until the music of Big Daddy V filled the arena, Mysterio stopped to look toward the entrance ramp to see Striker and V walking down to the ring, Mysterio hit the 6-1-9 on Henry and tried to get the pin, but Big Daddy V climed in the ring, pulled Mysterio off of Henry and applied a bearhug to Mysterio. Thsis prompted the ref to call the bell and award the match to Mysterio by DQ.[/COLOR][/FONT] After the match, Big Daddy V drops Mysterios lifeless body to the Matt and Mark Henry delivers a huge splash to the limp body of Mysterio. All of a sudden Chavo Guerrero comes walking down the ramp, laughing hysterically at the drama unfolding in the ring, he has a chair in his hand. He stepped into the ring and asked Big Daddy V and Mark Henry to hold Mysterio up so he could blast him with the chair. But in a huge surprise, Chavo turned around and decked Matt Striker right over the head with the chair!, he then attacked Mark Henry and Big Daddy V with the chair and helped Rey Mysterio out of the ring!!!. By the time V and Henry got up from there chair shots Chavo was carrying Rey over his shoulder and up the ramp away from the danger!!!!! [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Kenny Opens The Cage[/COLOR][/U][/B] Backstage Kenny Dykstra is shown laughing with one of the crew workers about something, but he dosen't see the World Champ Batista come right up behind him to get a listen. Kenny then tells the crew worker about what an idiot Batista is for getting himself into such a match at No Mercy, and how he's never going to make it out alive. Eventually the crew worker just walks away and Kenny turns around to see the champ right there. Kenny tries to butter Batista up but he will have none if it and tells Kenny that he's gonna meet him in the ring later tonight in the main event!! [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Hardy/MVP Vs. The BOD[/COLOR][/U][/B] [FONT="Book Antiqua"][COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]Everyone knew what would happen in this match, and eventually it did. Matt Hardy started off this match, and never came out of it. Everytime Hardy tried to tag in MVP, it seemed as if MVP was always pre-occupied with tying the laces on his boots. Hardy then got dominated by the team of Kane and Undertaker. Eventually Kane was sick of what MVP was doing by not tagging in and went after him, leading to MVP running for his life to the back, leaving Hardy out there all by himself. With his fighting soul, Hardy tried to win this match all he could, but eventually fell to a Kane chokeslam and a 1-2-3![/COLOR][/FONT] After the match, Vickie Guerrero ran into MVP in the back, smiling about what he had just done. She informed him that he wouldn't be smiling at No Mercy when he defended his U.S. Title against Matt Hardy!!!, much to the dismay and anger of MVP. [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Hardcore, Strait Edge Baby[/COLOR][/U][/B] ECW Champion CM Punk made his debut on SD! this week much to the excitement of the Arco Arena crowed. He came out and told the audience that he's still a champion, he's still the ECW champion even if there is no more ECW. He tells the fans that it won't be long until he's wearing gold in a SD! ring and that Vickie Guerrero made the best choice of her life by selecting him with the first pick in the ECW draft. He tells the crowd that they will see him in action on the next episode of SD! and not No Mercy, but assures that he will make an impact at No Mercy in one way or another! [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Knoble Can't wrestle[/COLOR][/U][/B] Right before there scheduled match, Jamie Knoble goes into Shannon Moore's locker room with a neck brace on, (obviously fake). He tells Moore than he will be unable to wrestle tonight, much to the dismay of Shannon Moore. Shannon Moore just laughs, saying that since hes so hurt tonight, then he won't be able to wrestle in the Cruiserweight invitation for the championship at No Mercy! [B][U][COLOR="Blue"]Batista Vs. Kenny Dykstra[/COLOR][/U][/B] [FONT="Book Antiqua"][COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]In the main event of the evening, World Champion Batista completely dominated Kenny Dykstra. Obviously taking out his anger on Dykstra, Batista hit him with a spinebuster, spear, Batista Bomb and the quick 3 count. After the match he delivered another one just for good measure.[/COLOR][/FONT] After the match when Batista was about to leave the ring, the arena went black, the gong of the Undertaker filled the arena, and the purple lighting was all around. Undertakers image filled the titantron and he informed Batista that there match at No Mercy would be a [B][SIZE="4"]HELL IN A CELL!![/SIZE][/B] Batista stood in shock, looked at his World Title as the Undertaker laughed maniacally as Smackdown went off the air!.. T'was a good show and very enjoyable. One thing though, the light blue writing was a bit of a strain to read. Maybe change it to another easier on the eyes colour. Actually you know it could be the delayed hangover kicking in so maybe just leave it the way it is.
