Unfortunately, my last game suffered some sort of crash and had the data corrupted. So I'm starting anew, with my game set as beginning on 1/1/08. Goto and Yamamoto in MUGA by DEAN - 2 Jan 08 Last night, two New Japan wrestlers main evented the Muga World show at the Mikasa Sports Center. Hirooki Goto faced off with Naofumi Yamamoto in a New Japan Offer match to top off a night of Muga action. These two went all out, and wrestled a 20+ minute long battle for the fans of Muga. In the end, Goto's newfound size and strength was too much for Yamamoto, who was put down by the Shouten. Muga World, 1/1/08 Mikasa Sports Center 202 Fans - Hirooki Goto beat Naofumi Yamamoto (25:07) with the Shouten. [Results] New Japan, 1/4/08 by DEAN - 4 Jan 08 In front of 30,000 fans in the Tokyo Dome, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi exactly 3 years from the day on which he defeated Tanahashi for the IWGP U-30 Openweight Title in 2005. Nakamura became the 48th IWGP Heavyweight champion today, beginning his 2nd reign with the title. Tanahashi did not go down without a fight, as it took a second Shining Triangle attempt after multiple other moves to put Tanahashi away. As for Nakamura, he survived not one, but two High Fly Flow's, as well as Tanahashi's signature Dragon Suplex Hold. This was an epic match for the ages, and no doubt one of the best New Japan matches this century. After the match, Nakamura, in tears, claimed that he felt that winning the title was his destiny and thanked the fans and Tanahashi himself for allowing this to happen. An obviously emotional Nakamura embraced Tanahashi, as the future of New Japan stood side-by-side inside the ring. As for the rest of the card, Yuji Nagata brought back the IWGP 3rd Title to New Japan by defeating Kurt Angle in another epic contest. The match was back and forth and one of the best matches of Angle's career. Nagata claimed that this belt should be unified with the IWGP Heavyweight Title, and the only way that could happen is if he is the next challenger to the IWGP Heavyweight Title. Giant Bernard and Travis Tomko retained their IWGP Tag Team Title against the TNA team of Rick & Scott Steiner in a hard-hitting match that was one of the best gaijin vs. gaijin matches in recent New Japan history. Furthermore, Great Muta made his triumphant return to New Japan, in which he defeated Hirooki Goto in a bloody and wild brawl. Goto looked good in defeat, but Muta was too much for the young member of RISE. In other matches on the card, the combination of GBH and Voodoo Murders predictably fell to Legend, Chono pinning TARU. Makabe and Yano went toe-to-toe with Team 3D in a wild hardcore match. Makabe and Yano, the Tokyo Sports Tag Team of 2007, took everything Team 3D had to dish out, and gave it right back to them. In another surprising turn of events, Z1's Masato Tanaka pinned Tiger Mask in the 8-man tag featuring Z1 and Muga World talent. After the match, Tanaka asked New Japan to send him their best fighters, as he would prove the superiority of Z1 against anyone. Wataru Inoue successfully completed his V1 defense against Christopher Daniels in an exciting contest, while Nakanishi dominated Abyss and the TNA team of AJ Styles, Petey Williams, and Christian Cage pulled out an upset win against RISE's Milano Collection AT, Minoru, and Prince Devitt. NJPW "WRESTLE KINGDOM II IN TOKYO DOME", 1/4/08 (WPW/PPV) Tokyo Dome 30,000 Fans - No Vacancy 1. THIS IS WAR! ~NONSTOP RISING~: Christian Cage , AJ Styles & Petey Williams beat Milano Collection AT, Minoru & Prince Devitt (10:01) when Styles used the Styles Clash on Devitt. Hot opener. Minoru looked really good. Great match to kick off the show. Rating: B. 2. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Wataru Inoue (c) beat Christopher Daniels (13:31) with the Triangle Lancer (1st defense). Inoue and Daniels had great chemistry. This was a hot match that had the crowd really into it. Rating: B. 3. Japanese Muscle Monster vs. The American Monster: Manabu Nakanishi beat Abyss (7:31) with a Mt. Fuji German Suplex Hold. Nothing really special. Rating: C+. 4. NEW JAPAN vs. The Alliance GROUND ZERO: Masato Tanaka , Tatsuhito Takaiwa , Yutaka Yoshie & Katsushi Takemura beat Takashi Iizuka, Koji Kanemoto, Tiger Mask & Ryusuke Taguchi (12:13) when Tanaka used the Sliding D on Tiger. Both Kanemoto and Iizuka looked really good. Tanaka getting the win was pretty surprising here. After the match, Tanaka cut a promo saying he will take on anyone New Japan has to offer in order to show the dominance of Z1. Rating: B-. 5. GET THE TABLE! GET THE HIGHEST! - Hardcore Match: Togi Makabe & Toru Yano beat Brother Ray & Brother Devon (13:56) when Makabe used the King Kong Knee Drop on Devon. Togi Makabe looked really good, but otherwise, a rather generic brawl. Not bad, not great. Rating: C. 6. ONE NIGHT STAND ~LEGEND vs. VBH~: Riki Choshu, Masahiro Chono, Super Strong Machine, Jushin Thunder Liger & AKIRA beat Jado, Gedo, TARU , Shuji Kondo & "brother" YASSHI (14:31) when Chono used the Shining Black on TARU. Decent match. Could have been some more selling. Chono looked pretty good though. Rating: C+. 7. Generation of Chaos: Great Muta beat Hirooki Goto (15:55) with a Moonsault. The lack of selling brought the match down a peg. Otherwise, it was pretty much what was expected. Should have been better. Rating: C+. 8. IWGP Tag Team Title: Travis Tomko & Giant Bernard (c) beat Rick Steiner & Scott Steiner (14:15) when Bernard used the Bernard Driver on Scott (5th defense). Bernard looked excellent out there. The Steiner's got a good reception, but are obviously not near the level they once were. Interesting gaijin vs. gaijin action though. Rating: C. 9. Final Resolution~REAL vs. Justice~IWGP 3rd Belt: Yuji Nagata beat Kurt Angle (c) (21:08) with a Back Drop Hold to become the 2nd champion. Great match, crowd loved it. Nagata talked about challenging for the IWGP Heavyweight Title in order to unify the two belts. Rating: A. 10. IWGP Heavyweight Title: Shinsuke Nakamura beat Hiroshi Tanahashi (24:27) with a Shining Triangle to become the 48th champion. Tanahashi and Nakamura have amazing chemistry. The crowd loved this. It was the official arrival of the future of New Japan. A perfect match. Rating: A* (Match of the Night). Final Rating: A.

Nagata & Nakanishi in Z1, Ishii & Makabe in BJW by DEAN - 5 Jan 08 Only one night after the huge Tokyo Dome event, 4 of New Japan's wrestlers wrestled in two other promotions. Two of the New Japan Sekigun in Yuji Nagata and Manabu Nakanishi wrestled hard-hitting matches in Z1-MAX. Nagata went one-on-one with Masato Tanaka in a match that has been built ever since they showed some disdain for one another back in 2007 in Shinjiro Otani's 15th Anniversary Match. Nakanishi wrestled in a rather different 4-Way Match. Z1-MAX, 1/5/08 Hirata Townsman Gymnasium 1,000 Fans - Super No Vacancy - Tadao Yasuda beat Manabu Nakanishi , Ryouji Sai, & Takao Omori (17:42) in a 4-Way Match with Guillotine Choke on Omori. Makabe in AJPW, TRIPLE CROWN SHOT! by DEAN - 6 Jan 08 Togi Makabe is on quite the streak of matches in the last few days. On the 4th, he and Toru Yano defeated TNA's Brother Ray and Brother Devon in a Hardcore match. Yesterday, he defeated Abdullah Kobayashi in BJW. And now, he received a shot at Kensuke Sasaki's Triple Crown! That's right, in a move relatively unknown to New Japan officials, Togi Makabe challenged Kensuke Sasaki for the Triple Crown. Makabe put up a fight and these two put on the best match of the night, but in the end, Kensuke was too much for the leader of GBH. AJPW, 1/6/08 Tokyo Metropolitan Tax Office 4,512 Fans - Triple Crown: Kensuke Sasaki beat Togi Makabe (22:36) with a Northern Lights Bomb (3rd defense). Full 1/13 LOCK UP card by DEAN - 9 Jan 08 A little bit late, the card for the next LOCK UP brand show has been announced. In quite the big match, BJW's Daisuke Sekimoto will get a shot at current IWGP Tag Team Champion, Giant Bernard. Thanks a ton for the replies guys. As for the LOCK UP shows, they're so fun to do in TEW because I get to totally break away from a normal NJPW show. I can use whoever I want, do whatever matches I want, and make it as star-studded or not as possible. I'm posting the results of my first one right now.

[Results] LOCK UP, 1/13/08 by DEAN - 13 Jan 08 In quite the pleasant surprise, Togi Makabe and Mammoth Sasaki put on an amazing match in front of a packed house at Korakuen today. These two have met in many different types of matches with many other wrestlers involved, but today's singles encounter was one of the best LOCK UP matches in recent memory. LOCK UP, 1/13/08 (Samurai! TV) Tokyo Korakuen Hall 2,300 Fans - Super No Vacancy 1. Riki Pro vs. Apache: Takashi Uwano beat GENTARO (8:01) with a German Suplex Hold. Takashi Uwano is improving. The commentary added some to match, it was very good. Decent contest. Rating: C. 2. GBH vs. New Japan: Tomoaki Honma, Toru Yano & Tomohiro Ishii beat Yujiro, Mitsuhide Hirasawa & Tetsuya Naito (10:09) when Yano used a Front Suplex on Yujiro. Good commentary added a bit. The young lions look like they are improving steadily. Below average match. Rating: D+. 3. GBH vs. New Japan: Jado & Gedo vs. Takashi Iizuka & Naofumi Yamamoto went to a time limit draw (20:00). Not much to be said here. Both teams wrestled a decent match. Rating: C+. 4. Prince Devitt & Milano Collection AT beat TAKA Michinoku & Dick Togo (10:45) when Milano used the IR on TAKA. Nakamura's V1 announced by DEAN - 18 Jan 08 A huge announcement was made today at the New Japan offices. As Yuji Nagata had alluded to in his post-match promo back on 1/4, his newly won IWGP 3rd Title will be unified with Shinsuke Nakamura's newly won IWGP Heavyweight Title come 2/17 at Sumo Hall. Both men have agreed that the titles will unify into the IWGP Heavyweight Title, not the 3rd Title, as that belt is not officially recognized by NJPW and the IWGP Committee. Both men seem very passionate about unifying the two titles, and even more so about getting into the ring with their opponent. Back on 8/12/07, Yuji Nagata separated Nakamura's shoulder with an Avalanche Exploder Suplex, causing Nakamura to forfeit the G1-Climax Semi-Final match in which Nagata went on to win (eventually losing to Hiroshi Tanahashi who would defeat Nagata for the title on 10/8). After recovering from the injury, Nakamura went on quite the streak, winning a #1 Contender's Match against Togi Makabe on 12/9, and eventually winning the title from Tanahashi on 1/4, the same night Nagata won the 3rd Title from Kurt Angle. Now, Nagata has an opporunity to regain the IWGP Heavyweight Title and unify it with the IWGP 3rd Title, ending the controversy that has lasted since Brock Lesnar unofficially kept the belt. This match will take place on 2/17/08 at Sumo Hall, and it sure to be full of passion and fire from two of New Japan's greatest wrestlers. The card for the rest of the tour, and the rest of the Sumo Hall show, should be announced shortly. NJPW, 2/17/08 (WPW/PPV) Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan 1. New cards for next tour, big IWGP matches for 2/17 by DEAN - 20 Jan 08 Back on 11/22/07, Koji Kanemoto and AJPW's Shuji Kondo were on opposing ends of a tag team match on a small Ring Soul show. After the match, both men agreed they must face each other in a singles contest in 2008. This match will happen, and it will be on 2/17/08 at Sumo Hall. These men are two of the best Jr. Heavyweights in Japan, and with that being said, NJPW officials have announced that this match will determine a new #1 Contender to Wataru Inoue's IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title. In another big announcement for the 2/17 card, Tokyo Sport's 2007 Tag Team of the Year, GBH's Togi Makabe and Toru Yano, will be challenging RISE's Giant Bernard and Travis Tomko for their IWGP Tag Team Titles. These two factions have clashed before and this match is going to be another chapter in the on-going rivalry between the two groups. In the last of the IWGP matches, RISE's Minrou and Milano Collection AT will challenge Dick Togo and TAKA Michinoku for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. Milano pinned TAKA in a tag match back on the 1/13 LOCK UP show, and this is the immediate reward of that pinfall. Minoru and Milano seemed sure they would bring the belts not only back into New Japan possession, but they would add a third title to RISE's collection (Shinsuke Nakamura is the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, while Bernard and Tomko hold the IWGP Tag Titles). RISE's new found dominance (holding half of all the belts in New Japan) is quite intimidating at the moment, as they may be on a mission to hold every title in New Japan. In one last note, some very interesting singles matches are on the tour cards. On 1/27, Yuji Nagata takes on Tomohiro Ishii. On 2/2, Legend participates in 3 separate single encounters against other New Japan wrestlers. On 2/9, Toru Yano gets the opportunity of a lifetime in a singles non-title match against current IWGP Heavyweight Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. On 2/11, Takashi Uwano also gets a huge opportunity by taking on Hiroshi Tanahashi. On 2/14, Yuji Nagata squares off with Hirooki Goto, in what is sure to be a heated encounter, and on 2/18, Hirooki Goto gets another singles match against Legend's Masahiro Chono. The rest of the matches for the Sumo Hall show and the cards for the rest of the tour are as follows: NJPW "EXCITING BATTLE IN OKINAWA 2008", 1/25/08 Okinawa Prefectural Budokan 1. [Results] New Japan 1/27/08 by DEAN - 27 Jan 08 -->"CIRCUIT 2008 NEW JAPANISM"<-- In an event dominated by the RISE vs. Legend theme, the two factions put on two consecutive amazing matches as the main and semi-main events today. In the semi, Legend trio of Super Strong Machine, Jushin Liger and AKIRA defeated RISE's trio of Giant Bernard, Milano Collection AT and Minoru in a great back-and-forth contest. In the main event, IWGP Heavyweight Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and fellow RISE member Hirooki Goto defeated Legend's most prominent heavyweights: Masahiro Chono and Riki Chosu. Nakamura, using his Landslide maneuver against Chono, scored the pinfall in what is being called one of the best tags in recent New Japan history. NJPW, 1/27/08 (WPW/Samurai! Nagata looked great. Makabe looked great. Nakanishi looked great. Ths should have been really good, but Naito looked totally gassed at a crucial part of the match, and things weren't that good then. This should have been a lot better. It also seems that Nagata has Ishii's number, as he has defeated him in two different matches over the last two shows. Rating: C+. 7. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Koji Kanemoto beat Shinsuke Nakamura & Milano Collection AT (14:34) when Tanahashi used a Dragon Suplex Hold on Milano. Great match.
