The Evolution Of Wrestling

Recommended Posts

Hey all, new to the site. Alot of great stuff here I must say. First real dynasty here so any feedback to make this better is fantastic. In the begining... In the year 2005, in Yonkers, NY, a wrestling promotion was born. Well, atleast the idea of it was. Well known indy wrestler Tom "Reckless Youth" Carter was seemingly at the near end of his long career. Carter was the man many wrestling insiders credit with shaping the style of many American independant wrestlers by fuseing high risk manuevers along with an equally solid mat game. Carter was well known across the East Coast, appearing in nearly every major indy from ROH to CZW to CHIKARA, which he helped found. Carter's dates drastically decreased, nearly only wrestling 10-20 dates alone in 2005, a major drop off from the years prior. Carter, by November of 05, began to consider going behind the scenes rather then being inside the ring. He pondered agent roles with ROH and even the WWE. However, soon after New Year's of 2006, Carter believed he had found a solid idea for his future: opening a wrestling promotion. Carter believed he had the mind for the business and knew how a promotion operated with his many years in the business. Carter at the same time had his sights set high. He saw many promotions which were dubbed to be "the next ECW" crash and burn within months. Carter had an eye for talent and already knew whom he was planning to use for his upstart promotion. For the next several months, Carter and his very close group of friends scrunged money together, and put together a very very good amount of startup money for the promotion. Carter, during this time, purchased the name rights of Independent Pro Wrestling from former NWA FL owner Joe Price. Carter believed that the IPW name would give the promotion a worldly feel to it, as THE indy promotion. By the time Carter hired a staff and everything, 2006 was nearly over. Carter held off a last minute 06 debut and waited for the new year. 2007 would become the year, in which wrestling would never be the same. This actually looks really cool. I don't really like the grungy indy fell to the tag title match, and hopefully you avoid some of those JAPW/CZW guys (like Javi-Air) who are really just spot monkeys. But this looked really good so far. I'll be reading.

From DOIWrestling.com
Independent Pro Wrestling's "Birth Of A Promotion" Results 11-18-06, New Champions Crowned Hey guys, Mic here, just got back from the IPW debut show here in Long Island. Very very big crowd, around 400. Knights Of Columbus was absolutly packed. The show was advertised everywhere in the NYC area for weeks, so I guess it worked. Show opened at around 7:30. Apparently there's some changes to the show, as Jerry Lynn is apparently out in favor of a TNA houseshow in Detroit. IPW owner Tom Carter greeted the crowd and announced Lynn's departure but promised suficent replacements. Ricky Landell defeated Corvis Fear and Javi Air in a 3 way dance Decent opener. Crowd really didn't know anyone there except the surprisningly high amount of support for CZW regular Javi Air. Landell however dominated, wining the first fall over Fear with a running DDT. Javi and Ricky battled it out for a few until Landell got the duke with a nice slingshot brainbuster. Hallowicked defeated Johnny Thunder Long time Long Island wrestler Johnny Thunder showed up in street clothes, cut a promo on Carter, IPW and why he wasn't booked when they're in the "house he built" and issued an open challenge. The night's first surprise, CHIKARA star Hallowicked came out and our match was on. The match was awful, as Thunder barley sold for 'Wicked. The match ended with 'Wicked nailing the Monster Mash for the win. Disco Machine defeated Emil Sitoci Nice one here. Sitoci worked as a arrogant heel here. Disco was surpisingly over, in his NYC area debut. Match wise was very very good. Disco defeated Sitoci after Sitoci missed a split legged moonsault and scoring with a small package. After the bout Sitoci threw a big bitchfest for losing. IPW World Heavyweight Title Tournament Match: "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen defeated Derek Frazier and "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush Big surprises here as Steen and Quack made unannounced debuts here. Quack was the big face in this one as Steen played the cowardly heel to a T. Steen won the first fall over Frazier by hitting a sick looking Package Piledriver. Quack and Steen went on for a solid 10 minutes of brilliance. Quack went for the Quackendriver II, but Steen hit a sneaky low blow followed by a second Package Piledriver for the win. Quack seemed pretttay pretty pissed post match. Chris The Bambi Killer defeated Chris Hamrick Rare heel vs. heel bout here. Hamrick again tried to be Tracy Smothers but failed while CBK was simply a quiet bad ass. Hamrick, before the bout started, ran down CBK, talking badly about Germany. (BTW, Chris The Bambi Killer=Austrian). Brutal slugfest here. Hamrick tried for his intense top rope piledriver but CBK countered and hit a sick 2nd rope Bambi Kill Shot for the win. Following the bout, CBK brought a table into the ring and powerbombed Hamrick through it cause that's how he do. Intermission time. During intermission, "Sweet and Sour" Larry Sweeney came into the ring and ran down the fans, and then turned his attention towards WWE Hall Of Famer The Iron Sheik. Sweeney called the Sheik "a joke" and an "old jabroni who should be in a nursing home craping his pants rather then making an ass out of himself on Youtube". This led to the Sheik cutting a profanity laced promo on Sweeney, whom he called "Larry Sweedish" throughout the promo, ending with his new apparent catch phrase involving making some one humble. Suddenly from the back ran Ricky Landell who nailed the Sheik, as Sweeney and Landell double teamed the legend until Delirious ran in for the save, clotheslining Sweeney to the outside, allowing for the Sheik to lock Landell in the Camel Clutch. IPW World Heavyweight Title Tournament Match: Jimmy Jacobs defeated Delirious NIce bout here. Jacobs attacked Delirious soon after the Sheik left the ring. Solid ROH esq bout here. Essentially a comedy based match, with abunch of high spots. Match ended with Sweeney coming back to the ring and nailing Delirious with his ICW/ICWA Texarkana Television Title in the back of the head, leading him to walk right into the Contra Code allowing Jacobs the win. IPW World Tag Team Title Triangle Match: Beef Wellington and El Generico defeated Dead Presidents and Team MackTation Looks as though the Canadians are invading IPW as comedy duo Beef and Generico were the third team in this one. MackTation played to be the Hardys but were heckled heavily by the crowd. Dead Presidents were over as hell as the gangsta hellraisers. This one was a triangle match so first team pinned was gone. It looked early on that Dead Prez had it in the bag as the destroyed the Mack Boys for most of the match. However, Beef and Generico came in and took it home, wining after Generico nailed a top rope brainbuster on TJ Mack, seconds before Boogz was able to break up the pin. Following the match, Dead Prez destroyed Team MackTation, until agents and such broke it up. Ruckus defeated Eddie Kingston Weird one here. Two massivly over faces battling here, and the fact they're in the same stable and such really tainted this one. The action was meh at best. Ruckus won with the Hate Crime falcon crest. Following the match the 2 shook hands. IPW World Heavyweight Title Tournament Final: "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter defeated Xavier, "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen and Jimmy Jacobs Match of the night here. A rare great 4 way bout here. Apparently Carter and former ROH Champ Xavier earned automatic byes into the finals. Carter was the only face in this one so he had the crowd on his side for this one. Xavier was out first following Steen's Steenilizer for a devistating first fall. Steen, Jacobs and Carter all went back and forth for around 15 mins until Steen was pinned by Jacobs following a 2nd rope jawbreak variation. Jacobs and Carter then went for a solid 20 mins of absolute action, which was very much exciting. Match ends with Carter countering the Contra Code and nailing Jacobs with a brainbuster into a DDT he dubbs "Roofies" for the win. Carter celebrates as Jacobs scowls as though he was gonna straight up murder Carter. Overall a great show, it more then made up for the Lynn no show with a bunch of great bouts, it looks like we've potentially got a new big indy promotion on our hands. Great.

IPW Notes: -Many backstage felt that "Birth Of A Promotion" went alot better then they expected. -Most of the wrestlers were surprised with the production level of the first show, having a stage, a large screen, as well as merch already. -IPW has signed a deal with Smart Mark Video to distribute their DVDs. IPW signed former CZW announcer Eric Garagulio and Floridia manager Aaron Royal to do the announcing duties. IPW has also signed sponsorship deals with Coldstone Ice Cream, XM Satellite Radio and Pro Wrestling Illustrated. -Chris Hamrick and Ricky Landell are already apparently done with IPW. Landell has relocated to tour with the Zero1-Max promotion and Hamrick bounced after being forced to put Chris The Bambi Killer over. At the same time, IPW signed PWG star Excalibur, Mid Atlantic star Damien Wayne and CHIKARA star Arik Cannon. All should debut at the next show. -IPW has already announced it's next show, entitled "Christmas Chaos" held on December 30th. This time the show will take place at the RexPlex Arena in Elizabeth, NJ. -On the side of the other big promotions, nothing really going on. From DOIWrestling.com
IPW's "Christmas Chaos" Results, Former ECW Star and WWE Stars Debuts Hello from New Jersey. Dave here and I just got back from IPW's "Christmas Chaos" show here in Elizabeth, NJ. I gotta say this is easily the best non ROH show I've been to in years. IPW once again presented a tremendous show, with amazing production values for a relativly small promotion. The house was packed, at around 500-600 there. The show began at around 7:30 PM. As the ring announcer (former ECW announcer Bob Artese) was welcoming the crowd, he was cut off by a video played on the big screen in the arena, of the Dead Prez attacking the Mack Brothers on their way to the arena. It looked like a legit street mugging. As this went on, a ref went into the ring and talked to Artese. Following the video, Artese announced the Mack Boyz were unable to face Dead Prez in the Jersey street fight. This lead to Dead Prez entering the ring, cut a promo on the crowd and the Macks calling them "Southern Hardy Boy wanna be bitches" and challenged anyone in the state of New Jersey to fight them. Familar music hits and in a big shocker, DEMOLITION (that's right, Ax and Smash) hit the ring and we're on. In a New Jersey Street Fight: Dead Prez (BoogZ and Dub L) defeated Demolition (Ax and Smash) Decent brawl here. The crowd was really hyped over Demolition's unannounced wrestling apperance (they were there for an autograph signing earlier in the day for a Wrestling store in nearby Teaneck). Match wise, it was an 80's throwback brawl, went all over the arena, complete with a balcony dive as Ax threw Dub L off the balcony onto a table. Alot of blood shed in this one. Match ended with BoogZ nailing Smash with a neckbreaker on a chair for the shocking win. Crowd massivly boos the two, but Demolition makes a big comeback and nails Dub L with the Demolition Decapitator. Boogz gathers Dub L as Demolition celebrates. In a 4 Corners Crusierweight Match, Derek Frazer defeated Javi-Air, Corvis Fear and Julio Dinero Ok match here. Dinero replaced an injured Damien Wayne who apparently broke his hand in a NWA Anarachy show. Mediocre actualy crusier action. Javi-Air did most of the high spots, as that was the only thing he was really good at. The bout seemed soley designed to get Derek Frazer over, which I think it sucessfully did. Match ended with Frazer nailing his vicious spinning Unprettier he calls "Pure Impact" on Dinero. Hallowicked defeated Mozart Fontaine Special added bout here. Fontaine, the long time ECWA star made his IPW debut cutting a classic promo on Jersey. 'Wicked entered to a nice pop. Really good comedy type bout. Fontaine went for a cheating victory by taking out a forigen object to nail 'Wicked with but Wicked ducked, nailed Mozart, picked up the object, put it in his mask and won with a running headbutt. Chris The Bambi Killer defeated Exaclibur and then Disco Machine Some more rebooking here as Emil Stochi wasn't able to make the show as a result of travel problems. Exaclibur started with a promo on IPW and such, which led to CBK to come out and destroy Excalibur, nailing him with the Bambi Kill Shot for a quick win. This led to Exaclibur's pal Disco Machine to run out and now this match was on. Good contest here, both men looked decent. Match ended with Disco going for a standing moonsault, only to have CBK to move out of the way, and on the rebound nail the Bambi Kill Shot for a rare double victory for CBK. Intermission. During it, WWE Hall Of Famer The Iron Sheik could be seen signing autographs before going into the locker room. "Sweet and Sour" Larry Sweeney defeated Delirious Phenomnial comedy bout here. Sweeney was over tremendously as the arrogant d00sh heel and Delirious was at his insane best. Match wise it was tremendous, with both men going for the gold. Match ends with Sweeney nailing the Shervesport Smash on Deliri' for a quick win. After the win, Sweeney attacked Delirious and signaled he was gonna rip his mask off, until, you guessed it, The Iron Sheik entered the ring and attacked Sweeney. Sheik then locked Sweeney in the Camel Clutch to rousing approval. Sheik shouted "Are you humble??" as Sweeney struggled. Sweeney quickly got out of it and exited the ring. Sheik then got a mic and cut yet another incoherient profanity laced promo on Sweeney, but then challenged Sweeney to a match at the next card. Sweeney laughinly accepted. Mike Quackenbush defeated "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen Amazing bout here, clearly MOTN. Both men were immensly over. Wrestling wise it was one of the better live matches I've seen in a while as both men put it all on the line in this one. Match ends with Steen going for the Steenilizer but Quack gets out of it and hits a rebound Quackendriver II for the win. In A Four Way Number OneContenders Match For IPW World Heavyweight Title, Jimmy Jacobs defeated Ruckus, Eddie Kingston and Xavier Decent 4 way here. Jacobs was over as balls as emo psycho heel. Ruckus and Kingston were over big as many fans knew of their exploits already. Xavier was eliminated first after Kingston nailed him with a spinning backfist into a Sambo Suplex for the quick pin. Kingston himself was out next after Jacobs and Ruckus nailed a double Spanish Fly on him. Ruckus and Jacobs then had a nice 10 minute bout, ending with Jacobs nailing the Contra Code for the win. For the IPW World Tag Team Titles, (C) Beef Wellington and El Generico defeated Quiet Storm and Josh Daniels Decent tag bout here. Beeferico was incredibly popular in this one. Match wise it was pretty bland as the charisma lacking Silent But Violent's technical prowess didn't really gel much with Beef and Generico. Match ended with Beef nailing the Ass Punch on Daniels who walked right into a running Yakuza Kick by Generico. Following the pin and the subsequiant victory celebration, Dead Prez ran down and attacked the champs. Looks as though Dead Prez want a title shot. For The IPW World Heavyweight Championship, (C) "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter defeated "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce Good one here. Pearce had alot of heat on him, cutting a great promo on the crowd and IPW, claiming he's selling out for wrestling for such a lowley indy when he could be at a ROH show. Carter, the hero, ran down and the bout immeditly started. A great affair with Pearce brawling with Carter for much of the match, only to have Carter use his superior technical skills to get an upper hand on Pearce. The match ended with Pearce going for a superplex, but Carter then nailing him with a series of vicious elbows, knocking him off the top rope and then nailing a big Double Pump Splash for the win. Following the match, Jimmy Jacobs ran down to the ring and savagly attacked Carter. Jacobs took out a spike and savagly cut up Carter's face and then picked up the IPW belt and nailed him in the head. Show ends with Jacobs holding the IPW title over him, covered in Carter's blood. Overall, great show here. Jacobs/Carter feud is gonna be big. Alot of future feuds and such were built up here. Great show again

IPW Notes: -Many IPW wrestlers are surprised with the success of the promotion so far, already promotion two shows which added up to 1000 fans. Many credit it to IPW's fantastic marketing campaign, buying ads during ALL the major wrestling shows on several NYC area cable markets along with littering of flyers all over. -It looks as though Eddie Kingston and Kevin Steen are both going to be taking some time off from IPW. Kingston looks to be starting a big run in Full Impact Pro as well as CZW. Steen is schuelded to return to ROH in January. -For those asking, yes, it appears that the Iron Sheik is offically a member of the IPW roster. -The use of Demolition at "Christmas Chaos" was an apparent one time deal. A week before the actual show, TJ Mack shattered his ankle at an AWA World 1 show in Winston Salem, NC. The angle of the Dead Prez mugging them was a write off for both men for a while. -IPW is in the process of putting the finishing touches on IPWrestling.Com (where all other reports should be coming from now and such). -In other rasslin news, WWE has begun shaping it's Wrestlemania card, with Batista/Taker and Cena/Edge likley being the ME's. TNA on the other hand is trying some quick heat by "reforming" DX, by signing Sean "Pac" Waltman and Justin Credible and teaming them with the Vodoo Kin Mafia (New Age Outlaws). Lame. -IPW's next big show is currently titled "Fight Night" to be held at the mecca of Indy wrestling, The New Alhambra Arena in South Philly, PA. From DOIWrestling.com
IPW "Fight Night" from Philly Results, New Champion Crowned Hey everyboday. GH here reporting from the ECW Arena (that's what I'll always call it) for the big IPW show here. Anyone in the Philly metro area have definetly heard about this show, as the IPW guys flooded the market with apperances on every news show possible. Kinda ridic. Show looks packed here at 7:00. Show's starting at 8 due to **** weather and stuff. Show starts with Bob Artese welcoming the crowd to the show. Suddenly, CZW manager (and money mark) Maven Bentley and his charge (and money mark) DJ Hyde comes down to the ring, plagued by boo's. Bentley cuts a terrible promo, burying IPW and praising his MBA stable in CZW. Suddenly from the crowd, a stranger from the crowd enters the ring and nails Hyde and Bentley. The crowd pops big time when they recgonize it's everyone's favorite, NECRO BUTCHER. Match on? In a Death Match, Necro Butcher defeated DJ Hyde Real unexpected one here. No one had a clue this would go down. It maybe to get a buzz going for the suffering CZW promotion (as Bentley/Hyde is feuding with a Necro led group in CZW). Necro was incredibly over in this one. A real savage CZW esq brawl here, complete with barb wire, tables, thacks and light bulbs. There was even a punch off. Match ends with Necro nailing a vicious Tiger Driver through a stack of light bulbs set up on 2 chairs on Hyde. Following the match, Necro attacked Bentley and proceded to throw him and Hyde out of the ECW Arena. ZBARR, Drew Blood and Devon Moore defeated Javi-Air and The SAT Filler match here. Looks as though IPW is borrowing some PWU talent. Real spot fest if anything. Nothing really noteworthy. Match ended with ZBARR nailing a big spike piledriver on Javi, who sold it like a murder, for the win. In a Handicaped Match, Chris The Bambi Killer defeated Disco Machine and Excalibur. CBK had a pissload of heat on him. Exaclibur came in with a neckbrace. Total squash here. Match was basically Disco/CBK for it's entirety. CBK spends most of the match destroying Disco. Match ends with CBK nailing Disco with the Bambi Kill Shot, then pulling Excalibur in and Niagara Bombing him onto the prone body of Disco for the win. The Irish Airbourne defeated The Valedictorians Nice bout here. Crowd wasn't really into this one as both were making their debuts I guess. However the high flying crap the 2 teams put on got the crowd into it towards the end. Match ends with the Crists nailing Eckos with a running double enziguri for the win. Following the match, Dead Prez runs down to the ring and absolutly DESTROYS both teams, Dudleys in ECW style. They then call out the champs, who run on down...match on!!! For The IPW World Tag Team Titles, (C) Beef Wellington and El Generico drew with Dead Prez I really liked this one. It started with a total slugfest, which degenerated into a wrestling match which then degenerated into a riot. After the initial brawl, it looked as though the champs had it in the bag, with Generico going for the BRAINBUSTAAAHH on Dub L, until Boogz knocked Generico out of the ring, which led to Dub L and Beef to get chairs and an instant double DQ. After this, a throwback Gangstas/Public Enemey brawl errupted all over the arena. It went back into the ring, where Dead Prez brought out a table...and lighter fluid. Uh Oh. Dead Prez nails a sick powerbomb on Beef through a flaming table. INTERMISSION Ruckus defeated Xavier Real big squash here. Ruckus=over as hell. Xavier looked real poor in this one, barley getting any real offense in here. Quite a fall from a former ROH Champ. Match ends with Ruckus nailing the Poetic Ruckus for the nod. Delirious defeated Hallowicked Really good bout here. The 2 Incoherience member shook before the bout. From there on the two put on a hell of a match. Several counter chants took place during this one. Match ends with Delirious nailing Shadows Over Hell on his teamate for the win. Following the match, the 2 shook hands and embraced to a big aplause. In a Four Way Dance for the New IPW Crusierweight Title, Derek Frazier defeated Mike Quackenbush, Emil Sitochi and B-Boy Big surpiser here. Many saw Quack as the clear choice for this one. Crowd gradually got more and more behid Frazier in this one. Sitochi was out first after B-Boy nailed him with a Shining Wizard out of nowehere. B-Boy himself was out next followin Quackenbush making him tap with the Chikara Special. Frazier and Quack went on for a solid 10 minutes. Match ends with Quack going for the Quackenbuster, but Frazier punched his way out of it and nails Pure Impact for the upset. Following the bout, Quack strapped the belt around the waist of Frazier to applause. In a "Humble" Match, The Iron Sheik defeated "Sweet and Sour" Larry Sweeney OK, this was a cluster**** of massive proportions. This was basically an I Quit match, but instead of I Quit being uttered, "I'm Humble" would be. Sweeney was big time over. Sheik looked horrible. Fat and slow, he barley sold. Match began with Sweeney brining out a masked man in a bee mask to attack the Sheik. Sweeney announced that Brian Blair had come to aid him. Sweeney and "Blair" double teamed the Sheik until Delirious came out and cleared the ring. Delirious nailed Shadows Over Hell on Sweeney, allowing the Sheik to lock in the Camel Clutch, and making Sweeney humble (minus the sodomy). After the match, Sweeney challenged Sheik and Delirious to a tag match at the next show. Sheik and Delirious proceded to cut one of the more inchoeriant promos I've ever heard, which also make it hilarious. So I guess this is gonna happen then. For The IPW World Heavyweight Championship, (C) "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter defeated Jimmy Jacobs by DQ Great match here. Jacobs entered as a emo psycho and brought back Lacey as his manager. Carter got a huge pop upon entering. Match wise it was excelent. Very back and forth. Jacobs nearly won it with a spetaculat tornado DDT variation. Carter fought back but caused a ref bumb and then nailed Jacobs with Roofies. Lacey then came in and nailed Carter with a chair. Carter then grabbed Lacey and piledrove here (ala Dreamer/Beulah). Jacobs awoke to see his love out cold. Jacobs got up in a rage and attacked Carter, then taking out his spike again and seriously carving up Carter, causing him to be DQ. Jacobs then covered himself in Carter's blood and proceded to wipe the blood on the IPW Title, before stealing it and taking an injured Lacey out of the ring. Overall a really good show. Packed house. Didn't like the inclusion of PWU and CZW guys (aside from Necro) but still. The Carter/Jacobs and Beeferico/Dead Prez feuds are really great so far and the Sweeney/Sheik/Delirious feud is good for a few laughs. Overall, I'm impressed.

IPWrestling.com News and Notes -Following his horendous actions at "Fight Night", IPW officals have been forced to offically suspend Jimmy Jacobs and Lacey both indefinently without pay. However, upon hearing this, IPW World Champion Tom Carter called for a block of the suspension. As a result of this IPW officals have decided to suspend Jacobs and Lacey both 2 months from IPW in ring competition. Jacobs, when interviewed for the IPW Weekly Podcast (avaiable now on ITunes) had strong words for the champ. "Carter, you...you have destroyed my world. What you did to Lacey...is unforgivable. And you began to pay your price right afterwards as I carved your face into my own masterpiece of plasma and muscle. And soon enough I and the belt you ever so cherish, the way I cherish Lacey, was coved in your own blood. Carter, you may have gotten me out of the picture breifly, but soon enough, I shall return and not only will your belt, which I was forced to give back, will be mine...but also will your soul." -As a result of this suspension, IPW began a world wide search for a credible and talent opponent for our World Champion and we have found him. On Saturday night, Feburary 24th at the Case Gym at Boston University in Boston, MA, former Super 8 winner and current Ring Of Honor star Davey Richards will make his IPW debut as he faces champion "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter. -The IPW World Tag Team Title Scene has been turned on it's ear following the savage brawl at "Fight Night" between the champs Beef Wellington and El Generico and The Dead Prez. Fans will not soon forget the sights and sounds of Dead Prez putting Beef through a flaming table. As a result of these hanous actions, IPW will not sanction a match between these two teams in Boston. But we have been informed by both teams, that a FIGHT will take place in Boston. This one won't be for the belts but it will be for revenge. -The strange, strange saga of Larry Sweeney, Delirious and The Iron Sheik will come to a head Saturday in Boston. Last month at "Fight Night", Sweeney and a man he claimed was B. Brian Blair, the man who has garned the rage of The Sheik, attacked the legend before their "Humble" match, which led Delirious to save the legend and set up for Sweeney's humbeling. That is going to take us to Boston as a huge tag team match will take place. The Sheik and Delirious will team up, to form one of the most unique teams of all time. Sweeney has kept his partner a secret, only telling IPWrestling.com "It's gonna be a HUGE surprise." in between his tanning and Yoga sessions. -Ruckus claims he's due for an IPW World Heavyweight shot, as he's been perfect since his debut with the company. Mike Quackenbush claims he's worked hard to face his former partner for an IPW title shot. The 2 superstars will colide in a match that may, scratch, WILL steal the show in Boston. -The Cinderella story that is "Pure Impact" Derek Frazier is an incredible one. Fraizer shocked many by becoming the first IPW Crusierweight champion at "Fight Night" surving B-Boy, Emil Stochi and Mike Quackenbush. Frazier will defend his title against the mysterious Hallowicked in Boston. -IPW has been in serious negociations with several major television outlets in order to get a IPW TV show out there for our fans world wide. -Thanks to all of our IPW fans who have made all 3 IPW DVD's the top 3 dvds sold on Smart Mark Video.
Independent Pro Wrestling and Coldstone Ice Cream Presents: The Boston Massacre From Case Gym @ Boston University in Boston, MA Main Event For The IPW World Heavyweight Championship (C) "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter vs. Davey Richards Non Sanctioned Brawl Beef Wellington and El Generico vs. Dead Prez Dream Partner Tag Team Match "Sweet and Sour" Larry Sweeney and ??? vs. The Iron Sheik and Delirious IPW Crusierweight Title (C) Derek Frazier vs. Hallowicked Winner Gets A IPW World Heavyweight Title Shot Ruckus vs. Mike Quackenbush Chris The Bambi Killer vs. "The Boston Bad Boy" Jason Rumble The Irish Airbourne vs. Disco Machine and Excalibur Emil Sitochi's Open Challenge Arcadia vs. Xavier And Much Much MORE

From DOIWrestling.com
IPW "Boston Massacre" Results, Riot Breaks Out Just got back from the INSANE "Boston Massacre" show here at Boston U. Freaking chaos. We knew we were in for something nuts when IPW sent out Larry Sweeney, Delirious, Hallowicked, Disco Machine and Excalibur around the main campus recruting people for the show. Hilarious stuff. Show looked pretty packed when we got there, beating out bell time by literal seconds. Arcadia defeated Xavier Decent opener here. Xavier, who'se from Brooklyn, talks crap about the city of Boston and the Red Sox. Cheap heat def. Arcadia, who'se usually out of Jersey, impressed some with his debut match here. His aerial skills are decent, which got him over in this one. Fast pased bout here. Arcadia got the duke after nailing a 450 Splash. The Irish Airborne defeated Disco Machine and Excalibur I guess Disco Machine's a face and Excalibur's a heel. Im not really sure, as Disco was total face but Exaclibur acted like a dick for the entire match. Action wise it wasn't spectacular. More of a way to get the Crists over as a viable tag contender. Match ends with Crists nailing the double running enzguri for the win. For The IPW Crusierweight Title, (C) Derek Frazier defeated Hallowicked Nice bout here. Many see Frazier as a underdog champion, so it seems as they overhyped 'Wicked as a superior opponent for Derek. Match wise it was a good one, very fast pased and back and forth. Match ends with Wicked going for a big Yakuza kick, pnly to have Frazier duck under and nail a Cobra Clutch Suplex for the win. Kevin Youkilis defeated Emil Sitochi Sitochi came in with alot of heat on him, cutting a anti American and anit Boston promo and proceded to call out anyone from Boston to face him. This leads to BOSTON RED SOX First Baseman KEVIN YOUKILIS to come out of nowhere and accept his challenge. Seriously. Can't make this up. Short one here, with Youk's offense essentially being lefts and rights, a few slams and suplexes. Match ends with Youkilis nailing Emil with a Powerbomb. As he celebrated, Chris The Bambi Killer ran down and nailed Youk, which caused Jason Rumble to run down for the save. Chris The Bambi Killer defeated "The Boston Bad Boy" Jason Rumble by DQ Rumble and CBK's brawl turned into their bout, which was surpisngly good. Rumble's similar to Chris Jericho in size and style. He and CBK had a nice one here. Rumble went for an Assai Moonsault but Emil Sitochi (who'se in CBK's corner) nailed him with a left behind the ref's back. This caused Youkilis (who'se in Rumble's corner) to clothesline Emil, and then from under the ring take out a ball bat, which he nails CBK with, who has Rumble set up for the Bambi Kill Shot. Rumble is instantly DQ'd as CBK and Emil run off and the Bostonians celebrate INTERMISSION, Youk signed a pissload of autographs BTW. In a Number One Contenders Match for the IPW World Heavyweight Title, Ruckus and Mike Quackenbush wrestled to a 20 Minute Draw Match of the night. Tore the house DOWN. These 2 put one one of the better matches I've seen in ages. Very fast pased and back and fourth. Amazing. Few nice highspots, including Quack's Swanton Bomb to the outside of the ring on Ruckus, Ruckus hitting an absolutly UGLY uranage off the ring apron on Quack, and the phenomnial Quack reversing the Hate Crime falcon crest off the top rope IN MID AIR into a Hero's Welcome variation. Tremendous. Match ends with Quack locking Ruckus in the Chikara Special until time ran out, resulting in a draw and much confusion on both men's part. "Sweet and Sour" Larry Sweeney and Kamala defeated The Iron Sheik and Delirious Wow. OK so Sheik definetly looked drunk the whole bout. Kamala was brilliantly announced by Sweeney as his partner, accompanied by Sweeney's Chikara buddy Ultramantis Black as Kamala's one night "handler". Action wise, it definetly wasn't a ROH match, but was still fun. Delirious took much of the blows for his team, from both Sweeney and Kamala. Sheik is taged in and suplexes Sweeney, then is blindsided by Kamala and a 4 man brawl breaks out. Sweeney then nails the Sheik with Ultramantis' cane (dont ask) behind the ref's back and scores the win. Following the match, Sweeney and Ultramantis order Kamala to splash the Sheik, Kamala refuses, Sweeney nails him, and Kamala procedes to clean house. For the IPW World Heavyweight Title, (C) "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter defeated Davey Richards Very good bout here. Both men got nice ovations. A real hell of a bout here, went very back and forth early on with reversals and such. Davey got a quick advantage, only to have Carter come roaring back, and working over Richards's neck and back. Davey then proceded to kick the **** out of Carter and nail the DR Driver. Richards then went up for a 450 Splash, only to have Carter move out of the way, and then lock Davey in a Crippler Crossface/Rings Of Saturn like submission for the win. The 2 men then shook hands. Carter then cut a promo on Jimmy Jacobs, calling him a ***** and such, then suddenly the lights of the arena went out, and suddenly a flash of fire occured in the ring, the lights went back on with Carter on the floor, rithing in pain as a masked man, presumebly Jacobs nailed Carter with a chair. Security began to run down the ring and the masked man bolted for the exit and legit left the arena. In a Nonsanctioned Fight, Beef Wellington and El Generico defeated Dead Prez Holy ****. This one STARTED in the parking lot, then spilled into the arena going all over with all 4 men just fighting and hitting each other with anything they could fine. They eventually got into the ring, and then Boogz got a mic in between attacking El Generico and called out for his "street crew" to get out there. From the crowd about 5 or 6 guys ran into the ring and began attacking Beef and Generico, which caused security to rush the ring and a riot breaks out. The 4 men then go out into the crowd again for about 10 mins. In the spot of the night IMO, Generico hits the BRAINBUSTAAAHHH on Dub L...OFF THE BALCONY onto 4 stacked tables. Generico somehow gets back into the ring, and he and Beef then double team Boogz. Beef gets a table...and lighter fluid....and another table....and another....and more lighter fluid. Oh God. In something...intense, Beef SUPERPLEXES Boogz through 3 flaming tables for the win. The crowd is freaking out,s tilll buzzing from this riot. A very crazy and exciting night. Great show, crowd loved it, I hope they come back to Bawston sooon.

Wrestling Observer News -The IPW Promotion out of New York is shocking many fans by it's incredible growth over the past few months of it's existance. The promotion's owner and champion Tom Carter told us that in accordance to it's growth, the roster of IPW is going to slowly start to change in the next few months. Carter told us that CZW has offered to merge with IPW but IPW has no current plans for that.

IPWrestling.com News and Notes -"The Boston Massacre" has come and gone and IPW is in chaos as a result of it. Firstly we have recieved word that IPW World Heavyweight Champion "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter suffered first degree burns as a result of the attack on him by that mysterious masked man, thought to be Jimmy Jacobs, at The Massacre. We have also learned that as a result of the riot that broke out during the unsanctioned tag match, there are apparently warrents out for the arrest of Dead Prez. The IPW World Heavyweight Number One Contendership is totally up in the air. And the myserious Larry Sweeney/Delirious feud took another stange turn. But IPW officals have announced that, all will be set straight in the upcoming few days. -IPW officals have announced that on Saturday night March 24, IPW will hold it's biggest show yet, at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City dubbed "March Madness". And already the main event for the evening has been signed. As a result of the draw between Ruckus and Mike Quackenbush at "The Boston Massacre", IPW officals have offically made it a 3 Way Dance for the IPW World Heavyweight Title as the champion "Reckless Youth" Tom Carter faces both Ruckus and Mike Quackenbush. This is a match that true wrestling fans will not want to miss. -IPW officals have announced that following "March Madness", Jimmy Jacobs and Lacey will be offically reinstated into IPW. We've heard rumors that Jacobs and Lacey WILL BE AT "March Madness". More on this when and if we get it. -Following his very impressive debut at "The Boston Massacre", Davey Richards will be in action at "March Madness". His opponent is yet to be determined. -The IPW Tag Team Title situation is centered around a legit hatred between The Dead Prez and champs Beef Wellington and El Generico. Dead Prez considers themsevles to be the best team in all of IPW, and have called Beeferico "gimmicky jokes who don't deserve the belts." At "March Madness", the issue between these two teams maybe settled once and for all as the two teams will tangle in a ladder match for the Titles. We've seen what these 2 teams will do with weapons if given to them, imagine the possibilities with this one. -The feud between Delirious and Larry Sweeney has cris-crossed with in different promotions and IPW has been the epicenter. With the inclusion of the Iron Sheik, the feud has become more and more complicated. But at "March Madness", The Sheik is gone. Kamala is gone. The gimmicks are gone. Finally it will be Sweeney vs. Delirious, One on One. -We have recieved an email that former ECW stars Danny Doring and Tony Mamaluke has signed on to appear at "March Madness". IPW matchmakers have acted very quickly in signing both stars to matches. Mamaluke will face Xavier. Can the former ROH Champion Xavier end his losing streak off "The Sicilian Stud"? In a huge match, Doring will face IPW Crusierweight Champion Derek Frazier. Frazier, the incredible Cinderella Man of IPW, who wasn't even known by many fans upon his debut and has since defeated stars like Mike Quackenbush, Hallowicked, AJ Styles, Ruckus, Eddie Kingston and more all over the indy circuit, has become one of IPW's hottest fan favorites. Can he defend his IPW Crusierweight title against a man who is 5-0 against him in the former ECW Tag Champ, "The Dastardly One"? -IPW is quickly gaining strength all over the wrestling world. The Wrestling Observer's Dave Metzler, in it's most recent issue has called IPW "A promotion to watch. It screams of 95-96 ECW, with a very solid roster, good storylines and a surpisngly big following. It's seemingly gaining more speed then any non ROH indy out there now. It's drawn nothing but sellout crowds in big arenas and presents itself in a manner that rivals final years WCW. I've gotten and seen nothing but positives about IPW and I expect it to continue to grow and grow." From DOIWrestling.com
IPW "March Madness" Results Everybodday. GH here LIVE, texting the good people at DOI the results for the big IPW March Madness show. 7:30 is the schuelded bell time, IPW's debuting a bunch of new merch at tonight's show, good stuff. I'll post pics when I get home. Place looks about 3/4's full. Preshow match had Disco Machine beating Davey Andrews (remember him?) with a split legged moonsault. Bob Artese and Bryce are out and show's on. The Olsen Twins defeated The SAT Wow, IPW dug the Maximos out of the couch to have em here. Decent opener. Olsens pranced like pricks for most of the match. Action wise nothing significantly special. No real big spots. Olsens won with a Powerbomb/Neckbreaker combo on Joel I think. E Xavier came out and attempted to cut a promo on the "ROH Marks" in the crowd, bitching about why he's always losing. This lead to Tony Mamaluke to come up and jaw jack with Xavier. Xavier nails Mamluke with a left and match on I guess. Xavier defeated Tony Mamaluke Mamaluke was over BIG TIME. I was kinda surprised. MAMA-LUKE chants aplenty. Fast paced one here. Mamaluke hit all sorts of Mysterio like crap on X. Mamluke did nail a SIIICCKKK avalanche unprettier for a 2 count. X came back with the heelness at the end, winning with a roll up with his feet on the ropes. D Hallowicked defeated Archadia Bleh little match here. Crowd HATED Archadia, plagued by "Don't come back" and "Fire Him Reckless, Fire Him :CLAP CLAP:" chants. Pretty bad to watch. Wicked on the otherhand, was loved by the crowd. I guess if it's not in CHIKARA or ROH, it sucks. Nothing real significant here. Resembled a crusier match on WCW Saturday night to be honest. Wicked wins with the Night Shift. E Emil Sitochi and Chris The Bambi Killer came out to huge heel ovation. Emil, who speaks relativly good english cut a nice heel promo on the US and such, dubbing himself and CBK (who the crowd is WAITING for a face turn btw) The European Union and claimed they were gonna bring all the IPW belts to Europe and blah blah. They then offered their opponents, The Irish Airborne, a spot in the Union, assuming they we're actually from Ireland. Some fan yells, "They're from Ohio" to Emil, who replies "Oh....**** them then." Hilarious. The European Union defeated The Irish Airborne Surpisngly good one here. EU were the anchor for this one. The Crists got some decent applause. Match wise it was a good tag team bout. Emil and Dave Crist put on a high flying show for about 5 minutes. Very good ending. Crists nail Emil with their patened Double Running Enziguri, but CBK, the legal man LARIATTSSSSSS Jake to hades. Dave goes on the top rope to try a dragonrana I guess, but CBK catches him and nails a Styles Clash/Powerbomb variation which looked ghastly for the win. C+ Davey Richards is out now to a very good ovation. He awaits his opponent. The lights go out breifly. They're back on and KEVIN STEEN is in the ring posing to the crowd. HUUUGGGE "Steen" and "Mis-ter Wrestling clap clap clap clap clap" chants break out. Very nice. Kevin Steen and Davey Richards wrestled to a double count out Oh man. Great match. Both mean wrestled a damn fine one. Very hard hitting. Brutal. Richards' kicks and Steen's chops and punches makes one cringe. Tremendous. Many multiple finishes, including Steen actually hitting the Package Piledriver but Davey barley getting his soulder up. Sick ending though. Davey goes for the DR Driver but Steen pushes him into the ropes and Steen himself bounces off the ropes. Both men NAIL each other with stero super stiff Yakuza kicks. Knocks both guys out, ending in a double countout. Following the match, Davey offers Steen his hand in good sportsmanship. Steen shakes...and then nails Richards and nails the Steenilizer on em. Steen gets booed big time, as he snot rockets on the KO'ed Davey. I smell a feuddd. B- INTERMISSION. Guys at the merch stand are saying that a bunch of ROH guys and a few TNA guys are backstage watching the show. BS I says. For The IPW Crusierweight Title, (C) Derek Frazier defeated "Dastardly" Danny Doring The guys infront of me were on Doring, because he was working an angle with Frazier on the XM Satellite Radio Ron and Fez Show. Doring got a surprisingly nice promotion. I guess people remember him then. Match wise it wasn't that good. Doring definetly wasn't working a crusier style, which would make it essential for one to compete for the crusier title. Frazier got a decent enough portion of the crowd behind him. Frazier wins with Pure Impact. Done. D Larry Sweeney defeated Delirious Finally these two battle one on one. No Sheik, thankfully. Match was a straight up brawl. Reminscent of Blanchard/Rhodes. I loved it. Sweeney almost knocked Delirious the eff out after piledrivering him on the outside of the ring. Delirious however, returned the favor but catapulting Sweeney into the ringpost, and opening one of the bigger gashes I've seen in a while. Match ends with Deli, going for the Cobra Twist, but Sweeney rolling out, nailing the Sherevsport Smash and then hitting the 12 Large, Brother elbowdrop for the win. Kind of an upset if you ask me. C+ In a ladder match for the IPW World Tag Team Titles, (C) Beef Wellington and El Generico defeated Dead Prez Eh, I don't know about this one. Match wise it was good, but I think it did legit damage to this feud. Match starts with an entry way brawl, going all over yet again before all the usual ladder match schennigans go down. Few very good high spots including Dub L moonsaulting off the top of the ladder into the crowd/Generico, Beef and Generico's double elbow drop off either side of the ladder onto Dub L and Boogz both on tables and Boogz hitting a beatiful T Bone Suplex off the ladder on Beef through a pissload of tables. However spot of the night/match is Generico's BRAINBUSTAH off the top of a 20 foot ladder on Boogz. This allows Beef to run up and snatch the belts. A good match, but Dead Prez looked like bitches and really for sure look like there losing the feud. C+ Before the intros and stuff for the ME, the lights go out and over the speakers static is played, then cuts to someone shouting "He's Here!!" Dunno man. In Three Way Dance For The IPW World Heavyweight Championship, (C) Tom Carter defeated Ruckus and Mike Quackenbush Oh man. EXCELENT. All 3 men got huge ovations and the crowd ate this one up. Man I loved it. Very fast pased and alot of counters and reversals for the first 10 or so minutes. Crowd was split here. Ruckus was the first one eliminated after Quack nailed him with the Quackendriver II. This set up for the match many wanted to see, the long time Indy icons battleing. Carter and Quack wrestled one of the most solid technical matches I've seen in a long time, with alot of European flavor. They went a solid 20 minutes on their own with a pissload of near falls. Quack looked to have won after nailing a spetacular 2nd rope Yoshi Tonic but Carter's foot BARLEY got to the ropes in time. Match ends with Quack attempting a top rope reverse Niagara Driver, but Carter telegraphs and delivers a ridicoulas top rope flipping Dragon Crusher for the win. Following the match, the 2 embraced to a standing ovation. As Quack left the ring and Carter celebrated, the lights of the arena went out and the static began to play again. The lights went back on and Lacey was in the ring. Suddenly they went back off and the "He's Here" blared and the lights come back on, with Jimmy Jacobs in ring, attempting to throw fire at Carter. Carter ducks and nails Jacobs. The 2 begin brawling, Carter gets an advantage and Lacey goes behind him and rakes his eyes. Jacobs then nails Carter with a superkick. Jacobs then takes out the spike and the crowd then believes he's going to once again carve up Carter. He instead stares at the spike and then drops it on Carter. He then gets a mic and cuts a promo basically stating he wants a rematch for the IPW Title, and says he's giving Carter to spike. He announces that in the 2 months he was gone, an endless supply of anger and rage was bottled up inside of him and will unleash this when they meet. He claims that if he gives Carter the spike, it may make the playing field even. Jacobs then drops the mic, and leaves, smirking mischeviously as Carter slowly gets up, holding his title and the spike. B+ Overall a great show. Alot of progression here. Very nice [/borat]
From The Wrestling Observer
BREAKING NEWS: IPW PURCHASES PRO WRESTLING UNPLUGGED We have recieved a fax, confirming to us the rumor which has been going around for a few days. It has been 100% confirmed that Independant Pro Wrestling, the big rising eastern indy promotion, has bought the Pro Wrestling Unplugged promotion out of Philadelphia. PWU has had a rocky past few months, including having to cancel their January show at the ECW Arena, which IPW ended up taking it's place. IPW is expected to retain the PWU Video Library as well as a few roster members. PWU, on it's website has announced the cancelation of all future shows and are organzing a big ticket refund off their website. Our IPW insider is telling us that IPW is not going to acknowdlege publically the takeover. Many see this as a huge move for IPW. IPW has steadily increased it's rabid fanbase in it's 4 or so months of being active. All of it's shows have been sellouts, with it's most recent show in NY's Hammerstein Ballroom bringing in nearly 1000 fans. IPW's ECW like feel and advanced sets and advertising are credited to it's massive success. The buying out of PWU shows not only IPW's growing power but also the decline of wrestling in Philadelphia. More on this when when we get it.
From DOIWrestling.com
IPW "Brawl At The Borgata" Results; New Champions, Major Debuts GH again, DOI's made me the OFFICAL IPW reporter...Cool. Proably 2 hours following the IPW here in AC. I gotta say, as someone who'se been to all of their shows, this is easily the best show they've done yet. It's definetly gonna change the promotion and such. I must note I got here at the Borgata about 5 days ago so I could gamble and junk. And I gotta say, as a kid who'se first PPV show was the WrestleMania 4 show down at the old Trump join, the Borgata did a TREMENDOUS job with hyping this event. I was told by a worker at the arena that this was the 3rd show in the new Borgata Arena. He told me that it held around 3000 and the show tonight sold around 3200 tickets. So, I don't know. Packed house as always. New opening, complete with lazers and ****. 80's cool I guess. Show opens with the playing of the national anthem, which the European Union prompley interupts. They cut ass on America and wonder who accepted their challenge. Suddenly "Bahwitdabaw" hits and former ECW and WWE star Kid Kash runs down to a decent reaction. He nails a few dropkicks and such before he falls to the numbers game. Suddenly, more familiar music hits and out runs fellow WWECW castoff Justin Credible with Kendo Stick and I guess out match is on. The European Union defeated Kid Kash and Justin Credible by DQ Decent match. Lot of ECW chants, which I'm not too sure if that's a really good thing anymore. Credible looked meh at best with Kash being at his same WWE levels of performance, which isn't a good thing. Match wise it wasn't really spetacular if you ask me. Match ends with a nice fustercluck with Credible being superkicked to the outside by Emil. The Union then attack Kash and call for their finisher, which looked like the old Stars and Stripes finisher. So CBK looks like he's gonna fisherman buster Kash with Emil on the top rope waiting to do something. Suddenly Credible with kendo stick in hand sneaks in and nails CBK and Emil with the stick for the instant DQ. Credible and Kash stand tall for a victory for....AMERICA~! D Tony Mamaluke defeated Xavier Eh. I don't know. Big MAMA-LUKE chant started this one. Action wise it was decent. Xavier hurt his shoulder early on after a bad missed dive to the outside. The 2 worked around it pretty well to be honest. Xavier's injury most likley caused for the match to be cut short. X went for the X Bomb but Mamaluke countered with a sunset flip for the win. The injury really hurt the match. E- The Olsen Twins defeated The Irish Airborne Decent match here. Started off with alot of Olsens comedy which was nice I reckon. Match wise it was nice. Very Chikara ish. Crists played the crusier spots very well. Some could say it looked like a low rent Midnights/R&R tagger. Match ends with the Crists attempting to nail the Double Running Enziguri on Jimmy, who then ducks under, causing the Crists hit each other. This allows Jimmy to push Dave to the outside, Colin to get back into the win and then nail the Powermbomb/Neckbreaker for the win. D For The IPW Crusierweight Title, (C) Derek Frazier defeated Luke Hawx Hawx came out wearing a PWU shirt. Ironic. Frazier got a surprisngly good reaction. Match wise these two put on an actually good match. Very fast pased spot fest for the begining of it with Hawx doing most of the bumps. Frazier did hit a very impressive Shooting Star Dive onto Hawx outside the ring. Very nice. Match ends with Hawx going for a 450 but Frazier moving out of the way and nailing Pure Impact for the win. C- Kevin Steen defeated Davey Richards Hot damn. These two definetly amped it the eff up since their last encounter. Steen had a huge amount of heel heat on him. And he played the ******* heel card yet again to a T. Another hard hitting affair with alot of near falls. Davey hit a 450 Splash to the outside of the ring which was GODLY. Classic heel ending with Davey reversing the Steenizer and nailing a DDT variation. Davey then goes for a Yakuza kick which Steen ducks under. Richards crotches the ropes, Steen clotheslines him back into the ring and wins with a ropes assisted roll up. Very heelish win for Steen, who points to his superior brains as Richards fumes. B+ INTERMISSION King Of The Boardwalk Match: "Dastardly" Danny Doring defeated Hallowicked So I'll do this one seperatly for each fall. Doring and Wicked were the first two men chosen. Decent opener of the match I guess. Short match I guess, around 6 minutes. Doring pins Wicked with the Bareback. Next opponent out is Ruckus. Big Pop King Of The Boardwalk Match: Ruckus defeated "Dastardly" Danny Doring SQUASH!!! Big Daddy Ruck destroyed Doring, hitting a pissload of flips and junk to totally confuse and overpower Doring. Ruckus wins with the Poetic Ruckus after a short 5 minutes of action. King Of The Boardwalk Match: Colt Cabana defeated Ruckus WHOA!!! First big significant debut of the night as ROH star and a guy the WWE wants to sign soooo badly, Colt Cabana came down to a huge ovation. "COLT CA-BANA clapx5" chants immeditly broke out. The crowd was hyped that Cabana was IPW now. Great 10 minutes of action here. Cabana started off with alot of the comedy which gets him over but then he and Ruckus got serious and had a very back and forth affair. Cabana wins with the Colt 45 on Ruckus. King Of The Boardwalk Match: Mike Quackenbush defeated Colt Cabana Here we go man. Quack/Cabana. This should be good. These two shook hand and the action was immeditly on. Very fast pased blow for blow bout here. Alot of the smarks I was with were impressed with Cabana keeping up with Quack. Cabana constantly worked over the back of Quack to set him up for the Colt 45. Cabana goes for the Colt 45, but Quack somehow turns once Cabana has him lifted into a inside cradle variation for the win. Cabana was shocked, but shook the hand of Quack. Suddenly a man runs down and attacks Quack, nailing a bunch of chops and such on em. Bob Artese announces the final competeor.... King Of The Boardwalk Final: Roderick Strong defeated Mike Quackenbush Roddy Strong is our final man, and got a big heel pop in this one. Chants of "ROOOOODDDDDDD-RIIICCCKKK" broke out. Strong destroyed and pulverised Quack, destroying him with backbreakers, which he is the Messiah of. Quack go barley any offense in. Strong wins with a Gibson Driver on a fallen Quack. B- Roddy then gets a mic, and runs down members of the IPW roster and puts himself over as FIP Champ and such. He then goes off on Derek Frazier and announces he wants to face Frazier for his IPW Crusier Title. Frazier then runs down to the ring, with a ref...and it appears a match is on. For the IPW Crusierweight Title, Roderick Strong defeated (C) Derek Frazier Whoooaaa. Strong immeditly attacked Frazier and match was on. A decent affair. Frazier was clearly winded and Roddy took advantage of it. Very high impact battle with Strong looking stiff as hell on Derek. Frazier attempted Pure Impact but Roddy backdroped him into a turnbuckle and then nailed him with a backbreaker variation and then locked him in The Strong Hold for the upset. Roddy celebrated like a prick as Frazier was clearly devistated with the loss. C+ In A Falls Count Anywhere in Atlantic City, Delirious defeated Larry Sweeney A legit brawl to start off. Sweeney in his War Games attire looked read to fight. This one quickly went all over the place, slugfest status. But it was brilliant I mjust say. The brawled OUT of the arena and into the actual casino. Bunch of comedy spots now. Delirious attempting to carve up Sweeney with a deck of cards=funny. Sweeney suplexing Delirious on the Desert tray of the big buffett=funnier. Sweeney DDTing Delirious, running over the the roulet table, putting 200 bucks down and shouting "ALWAYS BET ON BLACK BAYBAH", guy spinns the wheel, Sweeney ducks a Delirious clothesline and nails the Sherevesport Smash and then has the wheel land on black and Sweeney winning 400 bucks and then celebrating it like he won a car=brilliant. The coolest spot was Delirious working on Sweeney's arm and smashing a slot machine crank on Sweeney's arm, the slot machine lands on the jackpot and Delirious procedes to give away the winnings to the fans. Cool. They eventually get back into the ring and Delirious locks Sweeney in the Cobra Twist after 10 more mins of action for the win. Nice. B Dead Prez come out next and cut a promo on Beeferico and then announce their stipulation, a Dominican Strap Match, which is apparently a NoDQ Elimination Strap Match. WTF. In A Dominican Strap Match for the IPW World Tag Team Title, (C) Beef Wellington and El Generico defeated Dead Prez Weird one here. Started off with a nice big brawl again. Dead Prez controled this early for a while. They wrestled a very stiff and uncomfortable looking match I must say. Beef is the first man eliminated by being pinned by Boogz and Boogz touching all 4 posts. Now Dead Prez simply needed to pin Generico, which was Dub L's job. Naturally, Generico came back and got Dub L gone, setting up for Generico/Boogz final. These 2 then wrestled a damn good match for a solid 10 mins. Boogz went for South Of Heavan off the top rope for the final blow but Generico countered and BRAAAIINNNBUSTAAAHHH for the pin and the win. Dead Prez now can't compete for the tag straps. Boogz and Dub L now begin to argue..Hmmm B- Setup for the cage match. Cage is suited with 4 removable spikes on the top pillars of the cage. No pins, no submission, no nothing. Only escape In A Satan's Steel Cage Match for the IPW World Heavyweight Title (C) Tom Carter defeated Jimmy Jacobs BRUTAL. A great cage match here. Alot of drama and spots here. Both men bladed early due to the role of the spikes which were gotten very early. The 2 wrestled an extremly tight and back and forth battle for the entire match. A pissload of highspots in this one. Carter hit a Russian Leg Sweep off the side of the cage, Jacobs hitting a sick backbreaker variation off the side of the cage and easily the big spot of all time for IPW, Jacobs hitting a senton splash off the top of the cage. The 2 then procede to struggle for another few minutes for the escape. Jacobs and Carter then began to slugfest on the top of the cage, Jacobs signaled for the Contra Code, but Carter punched Jacobs off and then hit the NEW highspot for all time in IPW, a brainbuster off the top of the cage. Carter then climbed and exited the cage for the win and a standing ovation. Paramedics wheeled Jacobs out as Carter celebrated. B+ Carter celebrated in the ring as the cage went down. SUddenly from the crowd, 6 guys run into the ring and procede to DESTROY Carter. We immeditly noticed Luke Hawx, Gary Wolfe, Nick Berk and Tod Gordon as men leading the attack. We then realized the 2 guys organizing the attack are Johhny Kashmere and Trent Acid, The Backseat Boyz. Kashmere then grabs a mic and procedes to cut a promo on IPW, calling it a fake indy and procedes to talk heavily about PWU being bought out and Carter booking himself to the title in IPW. Kashmere claims NY promotions always **** over Philly promotions. He then announces himself, Acid, Wolfe, Berk, Hawx and Gordon as Team Philly and were going to destroy IPW for destroying PWU. They then laid a PWU Philly Wrestling over Carter's fallen body. GREAT SHOW. Everyone better pick this bastard up. Great **** all around. Top notch.
So I've been rereading some of the more recent posts with the news deal, and I'm not too sure if I'm liking the IPW offical site stuff, so I'm gonna write everything news wise off a fan site. Another thing is do you, the readers want inclusions of the other 5 or 6 bigger promotions in the game, like news and junk like that and if so how much? Thoughts?

From IPWMarks.Com
IPW News and Notes -IPW is now offically on television. IPW on it's website announced that starting May 4, IPW will air an hourlong show everyweek titled "IPW No Rules Wrestling". The show has been sold into syndication and already has been picked up in several big markets including Sportsnet NY in the NYC Metro Area, NESN in the New England area, Empire Sports in the Upstate NY region, KJLA in the Southern California area and The Sunshine Network throughout Florida. It looks as though the old ECW syndication route. -It looks as though Jimmy Jacobs is gone from IPW as on his myspace blog, he's announced he has signed full time for Ring Of Honor. This is the first example of a major crossroads for IPW. Several of IPW's bigger stars are also contracted ROH workers. As many fans know, ROH recently signed a PPV deal with iNDEMAND and has begun to sign many of it's workers to exclusive contracts, meaning they'll be allowed to work for only ROH approved promotions and apparently IPW isn't one of them. Hopefully soon we'll find out the fate of the others on the roster. IPW is apparently writing Jacobs off with an injury, which is understandable following "BATB". -Following "BATB", it appears as though the new big feud in IPW is Tom Carter vs. Johnny Kashmere, with Kashmere leading a PWU stable into IPW. Said stable however isn't going to offically be PWU, it's already been called Team Philly, the big stable in PWU before it's closing. -We have confirmed that Colt Cabana and Roderick Strong are OFFICAL IPW roster members. Both however will be appearing in ROH. So back to the contract thing from before. -Kid Kash and Justin Credible are both most likley not going to recieve roster spots with the company. Credible's performace was lackluster and Kash's performance and attitude were awful according to someone with IPW. Credible has been offered a role as a agent for the promotion.
