Taken from the ROH Message Board: Just got to the Meadowlands Expo Center with seconds to spare because of the crappy weather! PRESHOW: Matt Cross over Shane Hagadorn in about 5 minutes in match that gets the crowd on their feet early. *Bobby Cruise is in the ring and says that tontie will be UNSCRIPTED! WTF! NOT AGAIN! He says that everyone workin' the big NOAH show tomorrow nite had to skip town before the big storm! DAMMIT!* 1. Grudge Match: Claudio makes quick work of Sweeney in about 5 minutes, despite S&SI getting involved. Crowd doesn't seem as into it as you would think, probably because almost the whole MAIN EVENT IS GONE! 2. Mark Briscoe over Tyler Black in about 10 minutes. Crowd was into this one, and it delivered. *Pearce is in the middle of the ring, tries to cut a promo, but the mic goes out. This is just what this already pissed off crowd needs! Finally gets it workin' and tells the crowd that he is whippin' Albright and Whitmer into one of the top teams in ROH. Delirious, Steen, and Generico interrupt 'em and we have our next match.* 3. Tables Are Legal: Delirious/Steen/Generico get a win over the Hangm3n in a BRUTAL but slightly sloppy match. Finish is Delirious putting Whitmer thru a table with a SICK piledriver in about 20 minutes. *Julius Smokes introduces the Vulture Squad of Evans and Ruckus. He challenges anyone in the back to take on "Vanilla and Chocolate Vulture". NRC of Richards and Romero come out!* 4. The Vulture Squad of Evans and Ruckus over NRC of Davey Richards and Rocky Romero. Their styles didn't really mesh well, but it was still an enjoyable 20 minutes. Evans his the 630 on Romero for the win. 5. CHIKARA 4 Corner Scramble: Mike Quackenbush over Hallowicked, Jigsaw of the Vulture Squad, and Gran Akuma when he makes Akuma tap to the CHIKARA Special in about 10 minutes or so. Fun match that the crowd LOVED! They definately wanna see more Quack in '08! 6. Roderick Strong over Erick Stevens in a great power match in about 20 minutes. They really clicked in this one. *Necro Butcher has wondered out with a Dog Collar around his neck! I think we are in for a treat!* 7. Dog Collar Brawl: Necro Butcher over Jay Briscoe in a BRUTAL MATCH! Although a bit sloppy, you had to be there to see the sick spots they came up with! Necro got out the Barbwire again, and ripped Briscoe open with it! Just 20 minutes of brutality! *The rest of The Age Of The Fall has come out to help Necro to the back, but Jacobs stays in the ring. He says that at the last Unscripted, he beat the "Best in the World". Tonite, he wants to do the same he's calling out the man that was the #1 Contender for the ROH World Title! He wants Aries right now!* 8. Jimmy Jacobs over Austin Aries in 25 minutes or so. Great match that started with Lacey usin' the spiked cane to bust Aries open early. Jacobs gets the tapout with his new submission, The Endgame. Crowd really liked this one. *Thought that that was gonna be the main, but now HERO is in the ring! He says that Sweeney is in tears in the back after his loss to Claudio, and NO ONE makes Sweeney cry and gets away with it. He said that Claudio may of beaten him in a 2 out of 3 falls match at the last Unscripted, but tonite is Hero's nite! He wants Claudio right now in a 2 out of 3 falls match, because beatin' Claudio once tonite won't be enough!* 9. 2/3 Falls Match: Chris Hero over Claudio 2-1 in about 30 minutes or so. Claudio gets the first fall with a rollup in about 10 minutes, Hero gets the second after a brass knux shot when Sweeney distracts the ref. He gets the 3rd fall with Claudio's own move, The Ricola Bomb! GREAT MATCH, MOTN, slightly edging out Aries/Jacobs. It seems like Claudio and Hero were holding back in their previous mathes, but this one should make 'em fixtures in the Main Event next year. QUICK RESULTS ============= PRESHOW: Matt Cross over Shane Hagadorn. 1. Claudio over Larry Sweeney. 2. Mark Briscoe over Tyler Black. 3. Tables Are Legal: Delirious, Kevin Steen, and El Generico over The Hangm3n of Adam Pearce, Brent Albright, and BJ Whitmer. 4. The Vulture Squad of Jack Evans and Ruckus over The No Remorse Corps of Davey Richards and Rocky Romero 5. CHIKARA 4 Corner Scramble: Mike Quackenbush over Jigsaw, Gran Akuma, and Hallowicked. 6. Roderick Strong over Erick Stevens. 7. Dog Collar Brawl: Necro Butcher over Jay Briscoe. 8. Jimmy Jacobs over Austin Aries. 9. 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match: Chris Hero over Claudio Castignoli 2 falls to 1.

ROH NEWSWIRE Wednesday, Week 1, January: S&SI leader Larry Sweeney has been in talks with ROH officials since the PPV taping, and the contract has been signed. On nite 1 of the January doubleshot, we will see Nigel McGuinness vs Chris Hero in a Steel Cage Match! Sweeney has also made it known that Chris Hero will "take it easy" on Nite 2 of the double shot and face rival El Generico, in a non-title match if he is victorious on Nite 1. Thursday, Week 1, January: Ring Of Honor officials would like to apologize for the unfortunate travel problems that plagued this year's "Final Battle" card. To stop this situation from happening in the future, we have now shifted our scheduled double shots in the future from Friday/Saturday shows to Thursday/Friday shows to give those that work for both Ring Of Honor and Pro Wrestling NOAH time to appear for both companies. Friday, Week 1, January: To show our appreciation for your understanding, we have a huge match to announce that will take place during the January doubleshot. On Nite 2, you will see the next chapter in the feud that is setting the wrestling world on fire, you will see Bryan Danielson face off against Takeshi Morishima! Don't miss this match that was originally scheduled for the 6th Anniversary Show! Monday, Week 2, January: To prepare for his match against Bryan Danielson, Takeshi Morishima has requested a high caliber opponent for Nite 1 of the January doubleshot. You will see the former ROH World Champion face off against the No Remorse Corps' Davey Richards. Richards is looking to gain a measure of revenge from his recent loss to Pro Wrestling NOAH's Naomichi Marufuji at the PPV Taping last December, and he could climb right up the ranks with a big win against the former champ! Wednesday, Week 2, January: The Vulture Squad of Jack Evans and Ruckus have been lighting up the tag team scene in the past couple of months, and ROH officlas have taken notice. With their big wins in the Tag Team Scramble at the PPV Taping and their win over the No Remorse Corps at "Final Battle:Unscripted!", we will see them get their shot against tag champs The Briscoe Brothers on Nite 1 of the January doubleshot! Wednesday, Week 2, January: Nite 2 of the January doubleshot will also see the next chapter written in one of the bloodiest feuds that has ever taken place in an ROH ring. The Briscoes have demanded it, and ROH officials agree. We will see Jay and Mark Briscoe against The Age of The Fall of Jimmy Jacobs and Necro Butcher. Jacobs is on quite a role with wins over Bryan Danielson and Austin Aries and deserves another shot at the hotly contested Tag Team Titles. According to recent post on Ageofthefall.com, Tyler Black feels that it is "only a matter of time before the Golden Boys of ROH fall to the altar of the revolution that is the Age Of The Fall." Friday, Week 2, January: ROH officials were on hand at "Final Battle: Unscripted!", and agree that Mike Quackenbush should become a fixture in ROH in 2008. He will be in his most high profile match to date when he faces Roderick Strong on Nite 1 of the Doubleshot, and Jigsaw on Nite 2, in a special CHIKARA Challenge Match. Saturday, Week 2, January: We will have a HUGE announcement regarding the Sixth Anniversary Show next month in the coming weeks. ROH NEWSWIRE Sunday, Week 2, January: We are pleased to announce another big match for Nite 1 of the January doubleshot. The former leader of The Resilience, Austin Aries will take on his former protege, Erick Stevens. Stevens is looking for his first big win to get into title contention, and this could be his night. Stevens looked very impressive in his match against Roderick Strong at Final Battle 2007, and he looks to be on the verge of breaking out in 2008. Will he be able to defeat his former mentor? Monday, Week 2, January: We have another big match to announce for Nite 1 of the January double shot. The Age Of The Fall have requested not a match, but a "fight" to get them prepared for their match against The Briscoes on Nite 2 of the double shot. We will see the first ever meeting between The Hangmen 3 and The Age of the Fall on Nite 1, in a Six Man Tag Match. If the Hangmen 3 win this brawl, they will be in title contention, so there is a lot on the line in this match.
This is quite realistic-good job. Glad to see you are using and respecting the Chikara guys.
Thanks alot for the kind words! The CHIKARA workers are putting on some great matches so far. As long as they keep it up, I hope to be able to get them popular enough that they can get involved in in some feuds without dragging down the angles too much...

CHIKARA workers wouldn't drag the ratings down, if anything it would boost them! For good RoH-style wrestlers from CHIKARA, bring in Eddie Kingston. The man is a beast. Chuck Taylor could mix it up well with the juniors like Richards and KENTA when he comes in. I would also bring in Up in Smoke, and Hallowicked to back up Delirious if you really want to bloster the tag division, though it looks great already. But as for the diary, the layout is fantastic, and as a former ROHbot, I think this looks spot on when compared to results you would see on the ROH board. The booking is also well done, and all in all this is one of the dynasties I'm following with every update.

I wish I could bring in Kingston! But unfortunately he is already signed by about six different promotions! Hopefully down the line, some will go belly up and I will be able to. Same goes for Chuck Taylor as well. I wouldn't mind bringin' him in either. I think that he would fit in perfectly with Sweet and Sour Inc. And thanks again for the kind words Fuel Fan0102, I will be updating it again in a few hours!

I personally can't stand Kingston. His only good match in my view was BLK Out vs. Team Cash from Cage Of Death 6 and even then he didn't do much. He just doesn't click for me. Now on color commentary he is histarical but I dislike his ring work. Being one who is into the ratings for the matches could you give the letter grade as like a Meltzer star rating? Like A=*****, A-****3/4, A-=****1/4 or somthing like that?

Taken from the ROH Message Board: Just arrived at the Lynah Rink here in NY, and I'm ready to go with the results for the January double shot, Nite 1 PRESHOW: Hallowicked gets a quick win over the JACKED Ernie Osiris in about 5 minutes. Rating:* *Screams are comin' thru the loudspeakers, and The Age of the Fall are out!* 1. The Age of the Fall and The Hangm3n go to a DDQ when it degenerates into a brawl between both teams and The Briscoes and Steen, Generico, and Delirious. CRAZY to see live, and pretty entertaining! Rating:** 1/2* 2. Kevin Steen and El Generico over Jason Blade and Eddie Edwards in about 10 minutes. Rating:* 3. 4 Corner Scramble: Claudio over Jigsaw, Rocky Romero, and Delirious after he pins Jigsaw with a Top Rope European Uppercut in about 15 minutes. GREAT ACTION! Rating:*** 4. Roderick Strong over Mike Quackenbush in a GREAT MATCH! Their styles meshed perfectly in this one! Finish saw Strong hit the Gibson Driver from the top rope after many near falls from Quack in about 20 minutes. Rating:*** 1/2* 5. Austin Aries over Erick Stevens in a slightly dissapointing match. I thought that a match between these two would be slightly better with 15 minutes to work together. Oh well. Rating:** 1/2* *After the match, Aries and Stevens shake hands, apparently putting the dissolution of The Resilience is behind them.* 6. Takeshi Morishima over Davey Richards. SOLID match that saw a lot of stiff strikes back and forth. The finish saw Richards get dropped RIGHT ON HIS HEAD with a Back Drop Driver in about 15 minutes. *Danielson comes out unannounced, and says that he wants a match right now to get ready for Mori tomorrow! 7. Bryan Danielson over Gran Akuma in a damn good match! This is the sort of match that will get him a full time job! Ends in about 15 minutes with the MMA Elbows, that looked just sick Rating:*** 1/2* *Danielson says that he's still got some gas in the tank and that he wants another opponent!* 8. Bryan Danielson over Matt Cross. Another solid match, and that is saying something for the spot monkey, Cross. Danielson proves again that he is the "Best In The World" by carryin' Cross to damn good match. Ends with the MMA Elbows, just like the last one. Rating:*** *Morishima comes out and nails Danielson with one of the HARDEST lariats I have ever seen! SICK! They brawl all over the building, and into the back!* 9. ROH Tag Title Match: The Briscoes over The Vulture Squad of Jack Evans and Ruckus. Mark pins Ruckus after the Cut Throat Driver in about 15 minutes or so. Rating:*** From my source within ROH, I heard that they taped the following for the DVD release: *Nigel is shown in the back, preparing for his big title defense tonite. He says that he has had a rough few months as champion, but tontie he will get back on track and beat that loudmouth Chris Hero in the cage tonite!* *Chris Hero, who is looking a lot more serious than normal says that it ain't fun and games tonite, it's about fulfilling his destiny and winning the ROH World Title.* 10. ROH Title Steel Cage Match: Nigel McGuinness over Chris Hero in a to retain the ROH Title. Solid story told thruought, with Hero workin' Nigel's weak arm, but Nigel gets the win with a HUGE SUPERPLEX from the top of the cage! Rating:*** 1/2* MOTN: Hero/Nigel, mostly because of the spectacle of the Cage. QUICK RESULTS ============= PRESHOW: Hallowicked over Ernie Osiris. 1. The Age of the Fall over The Hangm3n 3 go to a DDQ. 2. Kevin Steen and El Generico over Jason Blade and Eddie Edwards. 3. 4 Corner Scramble: Claudio over Rocky Romero, Delirious, and Jigsaw. 4. Roderick Strong over Mike Quackenbush. 5. Austin Aries over Erick Stevens. 6. Takeshi Morishima over Davey Richards. 7. Bryan Danielson over Gran Akuma. 8. Bryan Danielson over Matt Cross. 9. ROH Tag Team Title: The Brisoes retain over The Vulture Sqad of Jack Evans and Ruckus. 10. ROH World Title Steel Cage: Nigel McGuinness over Chris Hero.

ROH Announcer gone, ROH going in new direction.... Friday, Week 4, January 2008 PWTorch.com has learned that ROH announcer Lenny Leonard has parted ways form the company, with Larry Sweeney replacing him on commentary starting with the release of the companies DVD's from January. Apparently, there was a bit of an argument between ROH management and Leonard last night at the Lynah Rink in New York. Sweeney, who has gotten rave reviews for his CHIKARA commentary for years now, will now get a chance to show what he can do on a bigger scale with commentary Dave Prazak.

Taken from the ROH Message Board: Just arrived at the Yantelli Center in New Jersey, The preshow should start any minute now..... PRESHOW: Matt Cross gets a win over the impressive Eddie Edwards. They had pretty good chemistry in this match, I could see them teaming up in the future... Rating:** 1. 4 Corner Scramble: Claudio Castignoli over BJ Whitmer, Tyler Black, and Ruckus with another big win over Whitmer with the Top Rope European Uppercut. Castignoli is fast becoming the King of the 4 Corner Scramble's with all his recent victories.... Solid match that really didn't kick into a high gear like it could of. A lot of action between Ruckus and Tyler Black that I'm sure will lead to more Vulture Squad/AotF matches in the future... Rating:** 1/2* *Roderick Strong calls out Nigel to the ring. Strong knows how much Nigel must be hurting after the vicious Cage Match last night, and Strong says that he will gladly accept the ROH Title now if McGuinness doesn't wanna go through with their match scheduled for later on. McGuinness says that he definitely isn't at 100%, but if he's going to lose the ROH World Title, it's going to be in the middle of the ring.* 2. Chris Hero over El Generico This match was slightly disappointing, considering the participants, but it also wasn't meant to steal the show, either. It was good for what it was, a comedy match that saw Hero get his heat back from last night's big loss with a cheap roll-up win over Generico. Rating:** 3.Kevin Steen over Brent Albright This one definately got the crowd on their feet. A great display of modern power wrestling that should become a bigger part of ROH in the coming months. I can see both men getting title shots in the future based on this match that saw Steen get the win with The Package Piledriver. Rating:*** 4. Jack Evans over Rocky Romero No big shocker here with the leader of the Vulture Squad pickin' up the duke over the 3rd wheel in the No Remorse Corps. What is shocking is how much time they gave 'em to work, over 15 minutes, which may of been a mistake because it was definately messy in spots. But Julius Smokes at ringside always gets the crowd involved at least! Rating:** *Austin Aries and Davey Richards were already introduced for their scheduled match when Erick Stevens interjects himself in it! We now have a Triple Threat Match!* 5. Austin Aries over Erick Stevens and Davey Richards when Aries pins Richards after the 450 Splash. It looks to me like they are possibly setting up Stevens and Aries as a tag team in the future, because this match consisted mostly of double team moves on the common enemy in Richards. It will be interesting to see what happens between Stevens and Aries in the coming months. If the rest of the towns that ROH runs are this behind Stevens and Aries like the crowd in NJ tonite are, we may have another team that can give The Briscoes a run for their money... Rating:*** 6. CHIKARA Challenge Match: Mike Quackenbush over Jigsaw Another real no-brainer in this one, Quackenbush is a guy they look to be pushing and he goes over the Jr. member of the Vulture Squad. Slightly dissapointing, because they have done some real great stuff in CHIKARA together. But, Hey, they can't be all winners, can they? Rating:** 1/4* I was tipped off for the following segments being taped for the intermission segment of the DVD release: *Chris Hero and the rest of Sweet & Sour International are irate over what went down last night in the Steel Cage Match. Sweeney says it is a "GROSS MISCARRIAGE OF JUSTICE, IT'S THE CRIME OF THE CENTURY" Sweeney says that he may have a solution to all of Hero's problems. He says that it's no secret that the officials in ROH resent the ability of Hero, so maybe it's time to bring in an "impartial official" that will ref all of Hero's matches from here on out.* *Danielson also taped a promo. He built up Morishima as the man that he has not been able to beat yet, and that has troubled him for the last few months. He puts over Morishima as a wrestling prodigy, a hard hitter, and the man that almost took his eyesight. He says that tointe with a big victory, he can finally says that he is the "Best in the World" once again.* 7. Chain Match: Delirous over Adam Pearce w/Shane Hagadorn Sometimes matches don't click, and boy was this one of those times! I think that the Chain Match stip might of been better if they held it off to the blow off of the feud, but with this stinker, they are gonna' have to come up with something big to get the crowd involved in this one. Finish saw Delirous choke Pearce out with the Chain. Rating:* 1/2* 8. ROH Tag Title Match: The Briscoes over The Age Of The Fall of Necro Butcher and Jimmy Jacobs Jay gets a big win over Necro with the Jay Driller in another solid brawl that didn't really kick it into high gear like I know that these four men can produce. This feud looks also to be sputtering a bit, hopefully they can get it back on track soon. The heels can only lose soo many times before they look to be weak.... Rating:*** *Tyler Black joins Jacobs, Necro and Lacey in the ring and proceeds to beat down The Briscoes with a Chair. Jacobs says that after his big wins against Aries AND Danielson, he still deserves another shot at the Titles. He wants it a the SIXTH ANNIVERSARY SHOW! This time, he picks Tyler Black as his partner. 9.ROH World Title Match:Nigel McGuinness over Roderick Strong to retain the ROH World Title. Solid Main Event level match between these two. Strong is showing what he can do in the ring again like his matches against Danielson in '05, and the two had GREAT chemistry together. Hopefully we will see these two in a rematch in the future. Rating:*** 1/2* 10. Bryan Danielson over Takeshi Morishima. These two did it again. It was the perfect meshing of SUPER STIFF strikes and submissions that will shape ROH in the coming years. This is what PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING IS ALL ABOUT IN 2007! Danielson gets the win with a quick roll up that catches Morishima off guard in 18 minutes. Rating:**** 1/2* *After the match, Danielson extends his hand to Morishima in a sign of respect, but Morishima pulls it away! Danielson is furious. This is definately the feud of the year by far! If they can keep pulling matches out like this every few months, I will be a happy man! MOTN: Danielson/Morishima, by far. QUICK RESULTS ============= PRESHOW: Matt Cross over Eddie Edwards. 1. 4 Corner Scramble: Claudio Castignoli over BJ Whitmer, Tyler Black, and Ruckus. 2. Chris Hero over El Generico. 3. Kevin Steen over Brent Albright. 4. Jack Evans over Rocky Romero. 5. Austin Aries over Erick Stevens and Davey Richards. 6.
