Canadian Golden Combat are George DeColt's promotion, and one of the Big Two in Canada. The story has it that George saw the potential for a successful Sports Entertainment company in Canada while he was working for SWF, and he returned up North to set it up in 1990. The promotion revolves around the DeColt family, who are virtually national heroes, and their battles with various heel factions who come to fight against them. It is a simple formula, but a successful one nonetheless.
Six months into 2007 under new head booker Jack Avatar and with a few comings and goings, can Avatar keep the CGC bus moving along and can CGC finally take on the NOTBPW juggernaut? NOTES: I'm six months into the game so this diary begins on July 2007 and I'll be posting what's happened so far in the CGC world in the next few days :).

Yeah, as soon as I saw Hawkins become available I signed him up :), helped to lessen the blow of Eddie Chandler going to NOTBPW. The women's division is a area that I plan to build up strongly as you can see with the introduction of the CGC Women's Title. Just got to write up the June history and update the roster then i'll have a preview up for the first show.

Sunday, Week 1 July 2007 Alicia Strong has been a thorn in Wanda Fish's side for the past few weeks with Fish insulting and taunting Strong at every opportunity but Strong has got her chance to shut Fish up at CGC Ultimate Showdown after winning the four way CGC Women's number one contender match last Friday. Alicia Strong has got a warmup match against Cherry Bomb this Sunday but you can guarantee that Wanda Fish will make her presence known. It's definitely been a couple of weeks to forget for Ricky DeColt after Wolf Hawkins ended his 4 month reign as CGC Canadian champion at CGC In The Company Of Legends with a roll-up and both feet on the ropes to steal away the title. Wolf Hawkins is sure to want to rub DeColt's nose in it this week on Title Bout Wrestling but will Hawkins be playing with fire?. Aggressive Tendencies are coming off a big win last Friday to become number one contenders for Youth Energy's CGC World Tag Team titles CGC Ultimate Showdown but they'll be facing each other this Sunday in one on one action as Lee Rivera faces off against Barry Kingman and Shane Nelson takes on Trent Shaffer. Alex DeColt was victorious in the match of the night and possibly the year against John Maverick two nights ago on pay per view as they battled for just over 30mins in a Ironman match for the CGC World Title but DeColt post match celebrations were cut short when Dan DaLay viciously attacked him, clearing knowing DeColt was in no condition to fight back. What was the motive behind this attack and will DeColt be in any kind of condition to seek revenge? Check out this week's show to find out!!!... Sunday, Week 1 July 2007 2,000 fans at Varsity Arena in Ontario SELL-OUT! The music of Elite hits as they walk down to the ring with the crowd going crazy with you suck chants and booing. Adrian Garcia “Elite is the finest collection of wrestling talent ever seen in CGC's history with the power of Dan DaLay, the superior wrestling ability of John Maverick, the huge untapped potential of Ryan Powell and last but not least, the CGC Canadian champion Wolf Hawkins.” Rating - C+ Wolf Hawkins “That's right AG, not even the supposedly legendary DeColt's come close to the greatness of Elite and don't get me started on their old man father George DeColt...” Rating - B Hawkins is cut off as George DeColt's music plays and DeColt walks down to the ring to huge cheers from the crowd. George DeColt “Stop right there Wolf, I'll admit that Elite is a fine collection of talent but when you bring my family's legacy into it when we've all bled and sweated and payed our dues in this industry then you don't even come close to us. So I've thought of a great idea for the main event tonight with all four members of Elite in tag team action going up against... my sons!!!.” DeColt walks off smiling as Elite shout and scream at him that it's not fair. Rating - C ------------------------- Alicia Strong def. Cherry Bomb The fan's are really into Alicia Strong as she shows why she's one of the premier female wrestlers in the world but Cherry Bomb proves she's no slouch either as she goes move for move with Strong. Strong picks up the pinfall after hitting the Strong Arm Tactic on Bomb. Rating - D ------------------------- Alicia Strong celebrates her victory after the match until Wanda Fish blindsides her from behind and hits the Dish Of The Day leaving Strong down and out in the middle of the ring as Fish stands over her, holding the CGC Women's Title aloft. Rating - E ------------------------- Trent Shaffer def. Shane Nelson A surprisingly decent high paced match between Trent Shaffer and Shane Nelson but Shaffer finally proves too much for Nelson as he gets the pinfall after hitting the Heart Burn. Rating - D+ ------------------------- Barry Kingman def. Lee Rivera With Barry Kingman tieing Lee Rivera in knots most of the match, Rivera struggles to fight back until he gets up a head of steam towards the end with some high risk aerial offence but Kingman hits the Royal Crowning spinning backbreaker on Rivera after he misses a flying dropkick to get the three count. Rating - C- ------------------------- The DeColts are backstage getting ready for the main event match as Alex DeColt delivers a rallying speech to his brothers. Alex DeColt “We're doing this tonight for the legacy that we've built in this industry so let's get out there and show Elite who the true legends of this business are!!!.” The DeColts clap hands and walk off, looking extremely determined. Rating - B- ------------------------- Elite ( Dan DaLay, John Maverick, Ryan Powell & Wolf Hawkins) def. The DeColts (Alex, Jack, Ricky & Steve) A pretty open well fought eight man tag match with Alex DeColt and Wolf Hawkins especially standing out. The referee lost control towards the end with chaotic brawling breaking out and in the middle of the chaos, Adrian Garcia throws brass knuckles to Wolf Hawkins who then hits Jack DeColt with them and rolls him up for the easy pinfall, giving the cheap victory to Elite.
Sunday, Week 1 July 2007 After an impressive victory last week over Cherry Bomb, Alicia Strong's celebrations were cut short by a vicious attack by Wanda Fish as Fish laid out Strong with a Dish Of The Day and stood over her, holding the CGC Women's title aloft. What will Fish have to say about her unprovoked attack and will Strong turn up to exact her revenge?. Aggressive Tendencies are on a roll after two impressive victories in single matches against Youth Energy last week but something tells us that they will look to maintain that momentum so Youth Energy better have eyes in the back of their heads. After George DeColt had put Elite up against his sons in the main event last week after they ran their mouth, Elite stole the victory due to underhanded tactics with the help of a pair of brass knuckles but the father of the DeColt family is determined to make sure that Elite are taught a lesson so he's made two huge tag matches for Title Bout Wrestling. Dan DaLay will team up with Ryan Powell to take on Jack DeColt & Steve DeColt and the main event of the night will see CGC World champion Alex DeColt teaming up with Ricky DeColt to go up against John Maverick & the CGC Canadian champion Wolf Hawkins. The action is sure to be off the chart so check out this week's show to find out!!!... For the most part this is pretty good and I like the fact that you're tackling CGC. I can't believe that Sean Deely didn't join NotBPW, he always seems to join them. Same with Whippy the Clown. I'd like to see you improve the promos. They're WAY too short and everything seems like... one line and done. Which is ok for some but not all of your talkers. Maverick is great and DaLay just needs to be utilized properly NoNeck! But losing Chandler definitely hurts.

Just my opinion; and you know what they say about those. :) I've never been able to figure out a way to push Maverick, which may be the reason I granted him turd status. And there are what, 35+ guys in the C-Verse that essentially are Dan DaLay? Really liking the Wolf Hawkins addition the more I think about it though.

Thanks for the comments, the show write-ups are a work in progress so I'll look to expand on the promos a bit :). Bringing in Hawkins softened the blow of Chandler leaving and I think of DaLay as the muscle of Elite and Maverick can drag a good match out of anyone on the roster. Should have the show up tonight leading into the CGC The Battle Beyond pay per view then I'll put up the full lineup of the ppv card. I plan to announce alot more of the lineup leading into the events in the future so it builds up the hype a bit more for you guys :).

Wanda Fish "On last week's show I made a statement by showing Alicia Strong who the true winner in the women's division is but that was just the start of things to come for you, Alicia as you don't stand a chance of defeating me at CGC Ultimate Showdown as I am the Queen in CGC. I will show my true greatness when I retain my CGC Women's Title against you at the pay per view but tonight, I will prove once again why I am the greatest women's wrestler in pro wrestling history!." Rating = E+ ------------------------- Alicia Strong, April Appleseed, Debbie Rose & Kate Lilly def. Cherry Bomb, Jaime Quine, Stephanie Wade & Wanda Fish A decent match with all eight women getting into the action but the main focus is on Wanda Fish trying to keep out of Alicia Strong's way. The end of the match comes when Alicia gets tagged in and clears house, leaving her one on one with Wanda but Wanda rolls out the ring, tags Stephanie Wade and throws her into the ring, straight into an Angel Driver from Strong for the victory. Rating = E+ ------------------------- Wanda Fish grabs her CGC Women's title and runs up the ramp but stops at the top as Alicia Strong gets a microphone and tells Fish she's got something to say. Alicia Strong "Wanda, you messed with the wrong woman last week when you attacked me. The greatest women's wrestler in history? did you forget to take your prozac lately?. Sayeed Ali Sayeed Ali puts up a decent fight in the match but Whippy The Clown showed his experience as he started to dominate. Whippy picks up the pinfall after hitting the Clowning Around on Ali. Rating = D+ ------------------------- Whippy The Clown is celebrating after his match when Davis Wayne Newton comes flying into the ring with a steel chair and nearly takes Whippy's head off with a brutal chairshot. The fans starting booing Newton extremely loudly as he demands a microphone. Rating = D+ ------------------------- Dan DaLay & Ryan Powell def. Rating = B ------------------------- Alex DeColt & Ricky DeColt vs John Maverick & Wolf Hawkins Definitely match of the night with all four men putting everything on the line with numerous near pinfalls and reversals. Alex DeColt goes for the DeColt Driver on Wolf Hawkins but is stopped by John Maverick and as Alex turns round, he walks straight into a big boot from Dan DaLay giving the referee no choice but to disqualify Elite. Rating = B- ------------------------- After the match, Dan DaLay and Wolf Hawkins continue their sustained attacks on Alex DeColt and Ricky DeColt with DaLay hitting the DaLay Down on Alex and Hawkins hitting Full Moon Rising on Ricky.
