Backlund was hanging right there with Martel, never letting up with his offense and not allowing himself to go on the defense. This was a submission based match that was full of holds and locks. It was pretty even all the way throughout the match. The crowd started to get into when Martel was on the attack, but Backlund was making a comeback. Backlund came storming back and was able to lock in the Crossface Chickenwing for the submission victory. Winner: Bob Backlund Time: 10:36 Match Rating: B ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are then met by Vince McMahon and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan at the announcing desk. They wait to talk until Bob Backlund has finished celebrating and "The Model" Rick Martel is done tending to his wounds. Vince McMahon That was a fantastic match wouldn't you say, Bobby? Great start to a WWF Monday Night Raw that should be full of excitement. That was one of three matches that we will see tonight. We will also see Bam Bam Bigelow take on The Undertaker, and I'm sure The Undertaker is a little angry after his loss last night to "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Also, the WWF World Heavyweight Champion, will be taking on his arch nemesis' brother, Owen Hart. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan Both of those matches are barn-burners, especially Yokozuna taking on Owen Hart. That means that Yokozuna will get to beat two Harts in two days. And like you said about the other match, The Undertaker is probably very angry. Bam Bam Bigelow better get ready for a pounding because it is bad enough when The Undertaker is normal...well not normal. I'm just going to call the ambulance already, hell I'll pay for the ride! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Razor Ramon is backstage with a microphone in his hand and a toothpick in his mouth. He is probably a little mad about how Mr. Perfect humiliated him last night at WWF In Your House on Pay-Per-View. Ramon throws the toothpick at the camera and starts to talk. Razor Ramon You're lucky, Mr. Perfect, lucky you're able to stand. We should have taken your legs out when you had that powder in your eyes last night. You think you can make me look like a fool and not feel the consequences? The consequences are going to be you getting nailed with a Razor's Edge and then losing your match against me for the WWF Intercontinental Championship. I don't even know why you wasted your time challenging me when you know it would end in disappointment. So, next month at WWF Survivor Series, you better get your ice ready because when I hit that Razor's Edge, you'll be at home tending your injuries for a couple months, chico! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bam Bam Bigelow vs. The Undertaker This was a beating for the ages people. Bam Bam Bigelow, being a big guy, should have been able to last longer than he did. The Undertaker, with his aggression from his loss last night at WWF In Your House, started to man-handle Bigelow. The Undertaker started to beat him down with punches and kicks then went to the big stuff. The Undertaker showed why he is such a dominating presence. He started to make Bigelow look a lot smaller than he is. The Undertaker picked him up and slammed him down with ease, time after time. The Undertaker stopped the punishment with a Tombstone Piledriver and a three count. Winner: The Undertaker Time: 6:54 Match Rating: B+ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack Tunney is in his office with "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Tunney is probably going to discuss the upcoming best of seven series with Shawn Michaels to become the #1 Contender Tournament for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. Jack Tunney Welcome Randy, I'm glad that I get to speak to you about this series of matches you have coming up with "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. I know you and Michaels have started a little rivalry, but I have to say this series could make or break your career. Someone of your age may be close to hanging up the boots, but this could be your last shot at the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. I also called you in here so you could shake hands with Michaels and signify the beginning of the series. Shawn Michaels walks in and Randy Savage losses his mind. He starts to go crazy all over the place and Michaels just starts to smile arrogantly. Savage just stares at Michaels then looks at Tunney and shakes his head in disapproval. "Macho Man" Randy Savage This is madness, Jack, and you know it! I'm never going to shake that kid's hand, he is going to get my hand but it is going to go right across his face. Oh yeah! Michaels, you and I took each other to the limit, but in this series I'm going to mop the floor with you. It is going to be four straight matches and what they call a sweep, brother! You don't have a chance, kid so why don't you get out of my face! "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels Whoa, don't have a heart attack, old man! I don't know what has you worked up, all I did was come in here like Mr. Tunney asked me to do. I hate you just as much as you hate me, but I am man enough to shake your hand. So you tell me, who is the real veteran here? I would think someone with as much respect and experience as you could get over yourself for one second and just shake my hand. "Macho Man" Randy Savage gets in "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels' face and starts to get angry. Shawn Michaels puts his hand out for Randy Savage to shake it. Savage goes to put his hand into Michaels', but then pulls out at the last second. "Macho Man" then starts to dance around until he meets eyes with Tunney. Savage then shakes Michaels' hand and the two go face-to-face once again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bret and Owen Hart are backstage with each other. Now that Bret and Owen can focus both of their anger towards Yokozuna, they can get on the same page when it comes to what Owen has to do in this match. Bret "Hitman" Hart Yokozuna, you take on my little brother tonight, but he isn't exactly easy competition. I am man enough to admit that Owen may be a better wrestler than I am, but that would mean Owen is the best wrestler in the world. Yokozuna, I have enough experience with you that I can pick you apart and I have told my brother everything he needs to know. You may be a handle for most people, but tonight you will find out what the Hart boys can do. The Hart family is the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be! Owen Hart That is right, Bret, and tonight I will guarantee that Yokozuna will have as much trouble with me as he does with you. I'm not scared of you, Yokozuna, I don't care that you weigh so much or you have beaten so many. I don't care that you are the WWF World Heavyweight Champion, I don't care who you are. I am a wrestler, I am a Hart, that means that I will do anything to win! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yokozuna vs. Owen Hart A great match that lived up to everything the announcers said and everything Owen Hart said. Yokozuna met the wrestler that is almost identical to "Hitman", it just happened to come in the form of his little brother. Yokozuna started to be picked apart by some well placed dropkicks and some well calculated aerial moves. Yokozuna shut down business for Owen momentarily when he went on a run of his own. The massive frame of Yokozuna became too much for Owen and Yokozuna took control. That all changed when Owen started to fire back with a series of blows to Yokozuna's stomach. With Mr. Fuji distracting the referee, Yokozuna went outside to get a foreign object. Yokozuna grabbed a steel chair, but when he turned around he was met by... Hart punched the steel chair into Yokozuna's skull. Hart then rolled the groggy Yokozuna into the ring. Once the referee became free of distraction, Owen went to the top-rope. Yokozuna stood up and was met with a massive flying dropkick. Owen would then move in for the kill by locking in his brother's move, The Sharpshooter. Yokozuna didn't struggle for long and was forced to tap out. Winner: Owen Hart Time: 7:34 Match Rating: B+ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bret "Hitman" Hart What did I say, Yokozuna? When a Hart talks he speaks the truth, and you found out the hard way. And here is the truth, Yokozuna, next month it is going to be me and you for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. The road to WWF Survivor Series is going to be a long one for you. You better be ready, because that gold around your waist is going to be finding a new home and the name of that home is Bret Hart! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Show Rating: A Television Rating: 33.79

Literally every match I have ran has had the announcing not up to quality. Even crappy dark matches.

I for one couldn't stand him and was much more satisfied with "Iron" Mike Tenay.

Eaton put up a surprisingly good fight in this match, and he caught Benoit off guard with some good technical skills. That being said, they were nothing on the technical skills of Benoit, and after he suplexed Eaton around the ring about 3 times he headed up top and delivered a Diving Headbutt and got the victory. Winner: Chris Benoit Match Time: 11:54 Match Rating: B ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Chris Benoit is celebrating his big win. He has his hands raised high in victory, and then all of a sudden he is taken down from behind by Dustin Rhodes, the man he will face one-on-one for the United States Championship tomorrow night at Halloween Havoc. Rhodes raises his championship gold in the air as he stands over Benoit, proud that he just took out his competition twenty-four hours from their huge match. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sting appears backstage, and he’s got something to say to the crowd. Sting Tonight is the biggest edition of Saturday Night that I can remember. Not only is the Stinger in action against the Television Champion in a little bit, my tag team partner for tomorrow night’s huge tag match, Road Warrior Hawk will be teaming with Ric Flair to take on the WCW International Heavyweight Champion Rick Rude, and that no good cheating World Champion Big Van Vader. I know that I’m not going to have a problem getting rid of Regal, but Hawk has to face the two flag bearers for WCW, but I know he will pull through. Then tomorrow night at Halloween Havoc, it’s showtime! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Road Warrior Animal vs. Sid Vicious Last week Animal had to take on Big Van Vader, and now he has to face off with his tag team partner, Sid Vicious. Animal took it to Vicious early and often, and the two brawlers tried to prove who the stronger man is by challenging the other man to take them off their feet. Vicious eventually won this exchange with underhanded tactics, then he controlled the pace of the match. Animal fought back though and looked like he would put it away, but Sid shoved him into the referee. With this distraction Sid kicked Animal right between the legs with full force, then Powerbombed him to the mat as the ref came to and counted to three. Winner: Sid Vicious Match Time: 8:43 Match Rating: B- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the match Sid leaves the ring leaving Road Warrior Animal trying to get to his feet. Then all of a sudden somebody jumps over the railing. When he gets in the ring he sets up behind Road Warrior Animal with a chair in hand, and it is apparent that this man is Cactus Jack. He drills Animal right between the eyes with the chair, then drops it and delivers a Double Arm DDT right onto it. He then demands a microphone. Cactus Jack Over the past year I have laid my blood, sweat, and tears on the line for World Championship Wrestling. And what does Cactus Jack get in return? Absolutely nothing! I’ve sat back and waited for my shot for way too long. My opportunities are given to new signings for WCW, like the man I just took out, Animal. Let me tell you something Animal, you can have my spot over my cold dead body! And if you want to take it up in the ring I’ll gladly meet you tomorrow night at Halloween Havoc. BANG BANG! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sting vs. Steven Regal This match saw the Television champion step it up in the ranks a little bit. Sting came with his high octane offense and totally threw Regal off his game. Regal wanted a slow European style match, but Sting bounced him around the ring like a ping pong ball, and the announcers lost count of Stinger Splashes around six. After a Scorpion Death Drop, Sting locked in the Scorpion Death Lock, and Regal tapped out after a lengthy attempt to get to the ropes failed. Winner: Sting Match Time: 13:25 Match Rating: C+ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The camera immediately goes backstage where Jesse Ventura is standing by with the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Big Van Vader. Jesse Ventura Sting, I know you can hear us, the man standing next to me, Big Van Vader tracked me down, and he has a message for you. He has informed me that at tomorrow night’s Halloween Horrors match, he will rip you limb from limb, just like he said he’s going to rip your partner Hawk to shreds tonight. Vader, what is your prediction for tomorrow’s big tag match? He ran into Ricky Steamboat in his first match though, and he had a pretty tough go of it. He got some offensive moves in that not many people have ever seen, and he proved to be a very hard hitter, but this was not a good match up for him because Steamboat was running circles around him. Finlay put up a valiant effort, but he was put away with a Flying Crossbody from Steamboat. Winner: Ricky Steamboat Match Time: 5:48 Match Rating: C+ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A video plays showing that the feud over the International Championship between Ric Flair and Rick Rude plays. Finally he cheated and barged into the ring and took down Flair and Hawk, which allowed Rude to tag him in. He took Flair and flung him high over the top rope, which sent him into the guardrail. He then got a dizzy Hawk and Powerbombed him to the mat, then went to the top rope. Vader then flew off with a mesmerizing Moonsault and got another huge victory. Guys I'm absolutely loving this diary. I think it's fantastic, I look out for it every time I log on. Great era of wrestling, with both promotions with so much potential, but the write ups are brilliant. Best "new" diary I've seen for a while now, and by quite a long way.

I'm really enjoying the diary so far. I remember enjoying wrestling more during this time period. I'm looking forward to Survivor Series and hoping that it is filled with 4-on-4 or 5-on-5 matches with team names. I know Demolition wasn't around during this period.. but you know they could always make a comeback. And...PUSH TATANKA!

Yep, thanks for the pictures man, they are much better than the ones I was using. And the C+ match is another example of bad chemistry. I've still yet to have a good chemistry matchup, but it seems like a find some new bad chemistry every show. And look for the ratings to jump up when either Hudson or Caudle can start working. Keef, good to see you around, haven't heard from you in a long time. Glad you like it. We've talked about having a multiplayer dynasty for awhile now, and we're glad that it's working out so well.

This match was no different as he out brawled the very powerful Ole Anderson, then nailed him with a Double Arm DDT to get the victory. Sting paired off with Vader, Hawk faced off with Sid, and Flair and Rude went right after each other. It took a couple of minutes for the referee to get full control, and when they did Vader had Sting on the mat, and his team was working on the fan favorite. Sting finally got the hot tag into Flair, and he had atomic drops for everybody. After working on the leg of Vicious for awhile he tagged in Hawk, who did some damage to the big man. Hawk gave way to Sting, and after the match broke down again Sting was able to hit Sid with the Scorpion Death Drop, and he got the huge victory for his team. Winners: Sting, Road Warrior Hawk and Ric Flair Match Time: 11:33 Match Rating: B- Final Rating: C+ Be sure to tune into Halloween Havoc, live on pay-per-view, UP NEXT!
