CQI13 Posted August 19, 2008 Share Posted August 19, 2008 PPV thoughts... 1) Punk over Big Show. Solid starter. Punk goes over as he should, given how weak Show has looked. 2)Hardy over Cade. Is this really an upset? We'll see where this goes from here. 3)The Odd Couple over MNM version 2. *shakes head* I'm beginning to think that this Tadpole Splash is lethal. 4)Beth over McCool. Right person goes over, given their build. McCool has looked weak, so I don't like Beth needing to have interference to beat her. 5)D&D retain over Edgeheads & Jesse/Festus. Wang & Noble? Really? A clean finish would have been nice. Jesse/Festus can't get it done so they call Noble & Wang? 6)Kennedy & JBL draw. Not a fan of the ending. At all. This whole thing has been for useless. Why have Kennedy try to get rid of Regal, when Regal will just come back before Kennedy gets the crown. Would have been better to have Kennedy win, and then have Regal come back for his crown. 7)Benjamin over Kane. Can Benjamin get one clean win? Knox doesn't get involved either? This would have been the perfect way to segue into that match. 8)Finlay over Matt Hardy, MVP, & Helms. So Finlay is heel all of a sudden now? Why? What's the motivation? And MVP & Helms magically disappeared from the match? After MVP's near falls, there's nothing said about him. 9)Michaels over Jericho. Not sure I like the finish, with Flair interfering to help Michaels. What exactly was Flair's purpose? At least it leaves it open for a Jericho/Michaels rematch. 9b) Except for Heat ending, Bischoff's announcement comes from left field. 10)Henry over Dreamer. Glad to see Henry win. But awful finish. A World's strongest slam would have been more fitting. 11)Edge over Batista & UT. Glad to see Edge win. And I liked the finish. 12)Cena over Triple H. Bad finish. Cena doesn't need DiBiase & Co. And Triple H wouldn't have worked either. This is one match where I would have preferred the screwy finish of someone attacking both men (perhaps a debut) and holding up the belt, with DiBiase & Co. in the background. Big Show and CM Punk have a surprisingly even match, and the Largest Athlete in the World and “Mr. Money In the Bank” have great chemistry together in the ring. CQI13 Posted August 19, 2008 Share Posted August 19, 2008 PPV thoughts... 1) Punk over Big Show. Solid starter. Punk goes over as he should, given how weak Show has looked. 2)Hardy over Cade. Is this really an upset? We'll see where this goes from here. 3)The Odd Couple over MNM version 2. *shakes head* I'm beginning to think that this Tadpole Splash is lethal. 4)Beth over McCool. Right person goes over, given their build. McCool has looked weak, so I don't like Beth needing to have interference to beat her. 5)D&D retain over Edgeheads & Jesse/Festus. Wang & Noble? Really? A clean finish would have been nice. Jesse/Festus can't get it done so they call Noble & Wang? 6)Kennedy & JBL draw. Not a fan of the ending. At all. This whole thing has been for useless. Why have Kennedy try to get rid of Regal, when Regal will just come back before Kennedy gets the crown. Would have been better to have Kennedy win, and then have Regal come back for his crown. 7)Benjamin over Kane. Can Benjamin get one clean win? Knox doesn't get involved either? This would have been the perfect way to segue into that match. 8)Finlay over Matt Hardy, MVP, & Helms. So Finlay is heel all of a sudden now? Why? What's the motivation? And MVP & Helms magically disappeared from the match? After MVP's near falls, there's nothing said about him. 9)Michaels over Jericho. Not sure I like the finish, with Flair interfering to help Michaels. What exactly was Flair's purpose? At least it leaves it open for a Jericho/Michaels rematch. 9b) Except for Heat ending, Bischoff's announcement comes from left field. 10)Henry over Dreamer. Glad to see Henry win. But awful finish. A World's strongest slam would have been more fitting. 11)Edge over Batista & UT. Glad to see Edge win. And I liked the finish. 12)Cena over Triple H. Bad finish. Cena doesn't need DiBiase & Co. And Triple H wouldn't have worked either. This is one match where I would have preferred the screwy finish of someone attacking both men (perhaps a debut) and holding up the belt, with DiBiase & Co. in the background. Its funny what you say about Finlay, but to be honest I never really thought of that being a heel tactic for him. I see Finlay as a tough as nails SOB who will take it to anyone at any point.
