DOTM Joint Nomination Thread

Recommended Posts

I want to run this a little Differently this month:

All nomination must include a reason
All nomination need to be seconded
You may nominate OR second one Diary from BOTH categories (not your own)
You CAN nominate the the winners from last month Rookie Category
You can NOT nominate Nevermore's "ECW World Wide"
You can NOT nominate InfinityWpi's "Tradition Dictates That You Be Welcomed... To The Coastal Zone by Infinitywpi"
As always must have at least 5 shows, with at least 2 of them being run during July. (Real World & Cornellverse)
You can ALSO nominate or Second one Diary for Rookie DOTM (a rookie diary has started since 6/20 and has not completed 5 shows)

Why the slight change? well there are so many Diaries out there, and coming up with 12 may be very easy, but i want to make sure the best 12 go up for a vote, so this allows more than 12 to be nominated, but only 12 to go for the final vote. (or those with the very best chance of being voted for) I am also asking for your opinion, as many diary's this month are still in their early stages, should I bring back the Rookie diary of the month, for just one more appearance? (I think the decision has been made by the first 2 posters Rookie is back for at least this month) 2nd* - means that the diary has been seconded so that you do not waste your vote, or fail to 2nd a diary you want to see put up for diary of the month Real World DOTM nominee's:

2nd* Tristram's "Prequel to Death Of WCW?"
2nd* keefmoon's "WWF: FMTA"
2nd* Wildfire1324's "National Wrestling Alliance: A Return To Glory"
2nd* G-prime's "WWE Rebirth" (despite pandering :))
2nd* Mikeyg32118's "WCW 98 - Putting Heart Back into the Business"
Dse81's "The New NWA"
Cornellverse DOTM nominee's:

2nd* Dragonmack's "The David Mack Chronicals: The CGC Era!"
2nd* McShamrock's "Pittsburg Steel Wrestling: Dave's not here"
2nd* Greg2511's "SWF: The Dangerous Years"
2nd* d_w_w's "HGC (Cverse97): Hollyweird meets Hollywood!"
2nd* Tigerkinney's "Puerto Rican Self Preservation Society: Version 2.0"
2nd* James Casey's "MAW: 10 Simple Rules..."
2nd* Actarus's "Jim Force Returns"
2nd* maskedpropaganda's "Establishing The Undergound"
2nd* Rathen4's APW - A Country Designed Purely to Kill You
Nevermore's " MoSC: The Worst Of British Wrestling"
With Drawn from Consideration by Author ShipShirt's "Championship Wrestling from Boston Lives Again"
Rookie DOTM nominee's:

2nd* Comradebot's "EWA: Why No One Cares About Wrestling in Europe"
2nd* Stennick's "USPW: After School Specials Are Edgier Than Us"
2nd* Hyde Hill's "TCW To The Brink And Beyond"
mistaken's "blAck mAil diAry"
WWE: Aftermath -- One Year Later
Nominations will be open until August 2nd at 7 Am Eastern

My vote goes to Tristram's Prequel to Death Of WCW? It's absolutely astonishing what details goes in to that bad boy from time to time. Absolutely worth not only a moniation but to win this month. Of course, I would be torn between this and Nevvy's this month but with Nevvy ineligble, it's all about Tristram for me. As for the rookie one, it sounds fine to me. I don't know if I would be eligible for that as I restarted this month (first time I've posted for it this year I believe), but I think I should not be as it was pre-existing, but with the new game coming out I think for one month only the rookie one is a good idea, and hopefully it will give people the motivation to stick with theres beyond this month.

Cornellverse DOTM nominee's: The David Mack Chronicals: The CGC Era! Good match writing, lots of shows, remains entertaining. Rookie DOTM nominee's McShamrock. Pittsburg Steel Wrestling: Dave's not here Good writing, entertaining shows, good feedback, integrated C-Verse need I go on? Yes bring back rookie of the month and I suggest keep it as long as there are a minimum of 3 dynasties that can be in contention. Does a rookie need to have 5 shows up or not? If rookie DoTM is not done for another month then I nominate McShamrock, sorry Dragonmack. I don´t read Real World dynasties so can´t comment on that. (Sorry Real World writers, I know there is good stuff out there but I have to make choices.) (Plus a shout out to NoNeck, Rathen4, Comradebot, Slipshirt, Tigerkinny, Greg2511, Rob4590, James Casey and Actarus sorry guys had to make a choice to me you are all worthy too. And a shout out to all my readers.)

From the hanging of Jack Bruce, to the mind**** that is Skull DeBones taking on Vengeance, not to mention some of the guys in development that I know he's keeping on the down low, he's putting in a huge amount of effort and not yet getting the recognition deserved. Good job Greg :)

Mine has to go to Keefy's WWF: FMTA. Although I've been outside town a bit recently and incapable of logging on as regularly as I'd like, when I have done, I've really enjoyed reading this. He's captured the style of the time period so perfectly that it's like a sledgehammer to the face and his characterisations are of great pedigree. It's his time. Quote The Raven Nevermore

I'll second the nomination for Dragonmack's David Mack Chronicles - it's easy to read (so much so that I tried to follow his layout in my diary), easy to understand the reasons behind the booking, and all those reasons make good sense. KUTGW Dragonmack!

I'll second the nomination for Tristram's WCW 98. It's really impressive how dead-on perfect everything is. After every show, I halfway wonder if he didn't give me the actual results of that week's Nitro, it's so dead-on for the era and the promotion. And WCW at that point in time was entertaining television! Who didn't love the WCW/NWO Revenge era? For Rookie Diary, I vote for Comradebot's EWA: Why No One Cares About Wrestling in Europe. It's crazy, it's over the top, it's just a lot of fun, and I look forward to watching it grow.

I'd like to nominate Wildfire1324's "National Wrestling Alliance: A Return To Glory", because the build-up to Showdown 12 has been excellent, the tribute show to Dylan 'Butcher Brody' Summers was executed perfectly, and for putting Mr Wrestling III in a cage with Mark Magnus in the near future.

Speaking of ''''touching'''', where is outlaw321 at these days? My nomination for RW Diary of the Month is WWE Rebirth by G-Prime. KUTGW.

Really? Maybe I was just catching up on a few shows not noting the dates Even though it's ineligible, I will give my reasons for nomination. Reading Rebirth is like sipping hot coffee on a warm spring's Sunday morn with two warm buttered melted marmalade covered pieces of toast. It's like the first time you hear Fernando by Abba. It's like the first time dad takes you to the ballpark to see Barry Bond slam one your way in the bleaches. It's like your first time with a human, only better. Thanks for the read, friend.

The First post is now up to date, with all nominations and seconds. What about the rookies? I know there has been more than one good diary to start this month. so for the rookies i will relax the rules, you will still need a second, but nominate as many as you think are deserving. the new writers deserve an ego boost. ;) second and off topic to this thread. How many of you use the star rating system? and at what point do you feel the need to rate a thread? (and i know no one reading this is doing this!) do you ever feel the need to give a 1* rating when a diary hasn't even posted a show yet?
do you ever feel the need to give a 1* rating when a diary hasn't even posted a show yet?
I only do that to Deezy's threads as you know they're going to be abandoned. I do it with a mind to upgrading when he gets shows up and running - but surprise surprise it's not happened yet.
