From Alpha to OMEGA

Who are we? In the future, that might be an easier question to answer... We might be world famous in a matter of years... We might be headlining WrestleMania... We might be legends, hall of famers even... But for now, let’s just say we are OMEGA. Organization of Modern Extreme Grappling Arts It’s December 1997, and after a wild and exciting year, we’re going to close things out with our biggest show ever, Alpha Contact. Recently, we’ve been very graced by a new financial backer, and that’s allowed up much more leeway with the level of talent we’ve been allowed to use. With that being said, we’re proud to announce that at Alpha Contact, named for the first show featuring the new OMEGA, we'll be presenting the OMEGA International Tag Team Tournament! We were able to bring in workers from Japan, America, Mexico, Canada, and even our own OMEGA talent. The full list of teams are as follows: Joey Matthews & Christian York "The Serial Thrillaz" Kid Vicious & Kid Dynamo Gedo & Jado "Black T-Shirt Squad" Tom Carter & Mike Quackenbush "Mexico's Most Wanted" Halloween & Damien 666 "High Voltage" Surge & Willow the Whisp "Thug Life" Sexton Hardcastle & Rhino Richards "Los Guerreros del Infierno" Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero Along with all of your favorite OMEGA workers, as well as some new surprises! To see who might show up next, come to OMEGA, the new age of combat! I preface these are absolutely random guesses Joey Matthews & Christian York Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero Surge & Willow the Whisp Gedo & Jado Sexton Hardcastle & Rhino Richards Tom Carter & Mike Quackenbush Kid Vicious & Kid Dynamo Halloween & Damien 666

Joey Matthews & Christian York - York and Matthews, easy. Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero Surge & Willow the Whisp - No way are the Hardy's losing, they are the bosses after all. Gedo & Jado Sexton Hardcastle & Rhino Richards - It's Edge, come on now. Tom Carter & Mike Quackenbush Kid Vicious & Kid Dynamo Halloween & Damien 666 - I could see Helms and Moore taking a dive for the foreign names, especially as Halloween and Damien are a tag team OMEGA could financially bring in more often than someone like Gedo and Jado.

OMEGA Alpha Contact Joey Matthews & Christian York vs. Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero The opening contest of our last show of the year showed everyone what they were in for over the course of the night. The warrior and the pirate were being billed as Los Guerreros del Infierno, and they looked great going up against the young team of Matthews & York. The match ended when Ultimo Guerrero countered a Frankensteiner from Joey Matthews off the top rope with a Powerbomb for the three count as Rey cut off York from stopping the pin. Winner: Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero Surge & Willow the Whisp vs. Gedo & Jado The figureheads of OMEGA were teaming together against one of the top young tag teams from Japan in our second match in was an exciting contest. Willow and Surge had issues working together, as Willow has let it be known recently that he wants Surge’s title. Gedo & Jado took advantage of this and put away the OMEGA champion and the enigmatic Willow the Whisp. Winner: Gedo & Jado Tom Carter & Mike Quackenbush vs. Sexton Hardcastle & Rhino Richards The Black T-Shirt Squad is made up of two of the best workers on the east coast, and they showed it. This match showed off the high flying prowess of Carter and Quack, and they used that to counter the strength and power of Rhino. However, the heel antics of Hardcastle gave his team the advantage and Richards had Carter lined up for a brutal Spear when Carter dove out of the way and Rhino tumbled through the ropes onto the floor outside. Then, out of nowhere, a member of the crowd hopped the barricade and attacked Richards as everyone else had their attention on the action in the ring. Sexton hooked Quack for an Implant DDT, when Quack slid out, and dropped him with a Quackendriver. As Quack pinned Sexton, Carter made a dive to the outside on Richards and the fan while the referee made the count, and the Black T-Shirt Squad got the win. Winner: Tom Carter & Mike Quackenbush After the match, security ran to the ring, picked up the fan that was still out from Carter’s spectacular top rope dive, and carted him off in handcuffs. Kid Vicious & Kid Dynamo vs. Damien 666 & Halloween Our last first round contest was between our third home-grown team and the other team from Mexico, as The Serial Thrillaz took on Mexico’s Most Wanted. This was the last chance for the home-grown talent to move on to the next round, and they capitalized on that opportunity, sending the foreign workers packing and moving on to the next round in a solid back and forth match. Winner: Kid Vicious & Kid Dynamo Rey Bucanero & Ultimo Guerrero vs. Gedo & Jado The first semi-final match was something that many tape-traders will probably clamor for, a international showdown between two of the brightest young tag teams in the world going head to head, before they get tied down to a major promotion. These four were all on fire as they all went full-tilt and really gave the fans a great match-up worth the price of admission alone. Gedo and Jado finally got the win in this one following a Gedo Clutch on Rey Bucanero. Winner: Gedo & Jado After the match, the crowd was on their feet in appreciation, clapping and cheering before our second semi-final match began. Tom Carter & Mike Quackenbush vs. Kid Vicious & Kid Dynamo The last two American teams went head to head in another riveting high-paced contest showcasing some of the best high flying wrestling there is to offer in America. The Black T-Shirt Squad showed off their world-class level of talent in a hard-fought victory over The Serial Thrillaz, the only local team to continue on to the second round. A Frog Splash from Tom Carter onto Kid Vicious and that was all she wrote in this flashy match. Winner: Tom Carter & Mike Quackenbush C.W. Anderson vs. Venom Two of the larger members of our roster had a nice brutal brawl back and forth that was aided in quality not only from the contrast of the high flying that filled the show prior to this match, but they also had great chemistry, which really lifted the quality of everything they did. Their timing was spot on, and the crowd was really digging it, and a re-match might be in order at the next show, probably with more time. Anderson flattened with Venom with a horrific Spinebuster and a three count was short to follow. Winner: C.W. Anderson Christopher Daniels vs. Gran Naniwa vs. Steve Corino vs. El Pantera In what will probably be a recurring theme on OMEGA shows, we had a surprise un-announced international four-way dream match, pitting a top youngster from Canada, America, Japan, and Mexico off against each other in an epic contest that was the hands down match of the night, without any questions. This contest was an OMEGA classic, a match that fans will be talking about for ages. All four men gave it their best, and you really got a good sense of each one’s style as the match progressed. The crowd was on their feet about half-way through and no-one sat down till the fall. The finish was wild, as Corino had a woozy Naniwa hooked back for an Expulsion when Christopher Daniels took him out with a flying neck breaker, and as the three men laid on the mat in exhaustion, El Pantera hopped onto the top rope and came soaring through the air with a Moonsault onto Naniwa, and Christopher Daniels started stirring and dove to broke up the pin but it wasn’t till the referee made the third count, and the match was over! Winner: El Pantera The crowd was on their feet cheering and chanting “Thank You” and the various wrestlers’ names. Gran Naniwa raised Pantera’s arm in victory after he slowly got up from the mat, Christopher Daniels gave Pantera a congratulatory hug, and even Steve Corino shook Pantera’s hand, before the four men all raised each other’s hands in victory as the crowd went wild. International Tag Team Tournament Finals Tom Carter & Mike Quackenbush vs. Gedo & Jado After a short two-match break, along with our intermission, it was time for our main event and the last match of the tag tourney. The Japanese duo of Gedo & Jado looked great in both of their first two matches, but the Black T-Shirt Squad looked like superstars. Quackenbush was the star of this match, showcasing some of the best technical wrestling holds and flashy flips of the evening. The finish had the crowd holding their breath as Jado nearly folded Carter in half with a Backdrop and Gedo had Quack in the Gedo Clutch. The ref counted a two on both men before Tom kicked out and Quack managed to slide up, and kept hold of Gedo’s legs. He then raised Gedo’s head up by holding his arms, as Reckless Youth nailed Gedo in the side of a head with a dropkick. Quack then rolled him over and jackknifed his legs as Carter cut Jado off and the referee counted the three. Winner: Tom Carter & Mike Quackenbush The crowd erupted as Tom and Mike nearly collapsed onto each other before the referee raised their arms in victory. The referee then handed them their trophy which they held in the air as Gedo and Jado slowly got up. They looked at Quack and Carter solemnly and the winners stared back at them. In that moment, the tension could be cut with a knife, but then in a completely unexpected action, Gedo and Jado offered a handshake, which was accepted, and all four celebrated as the crowd cheered to end the show.

Happy New Year! Thanks so much to every single one of you who came out to our last show of the year, and the first show featuring the new look of OMEGA. We had a fantastic night of action, and we’d like to thank every one of our tag teams that traveled in from far and wide to make it to out, and then proceed to tear the house down! And on that note, congratulations to Tom Carter and Mike Quackenbush, who won the tournament in thrilling fashion, we really suggest you all pick up the tape of this show to see some of the top young tag teams in the world taking on each other years before you’re going to see them hit the big time. That’s what you’re going to get here in OMEGA, the future of wrestling, today. Not to be ones to rest on our laurels though, we already have word on our next show! OMEGA will present “The Next Day” as our January show, and our first show of the year. Already announced are the follow matches: Rhino Richards & Sexton Hardcastle vs. Kid Vicious & Kid Dynamo Two of our tag teams from the tournament will take each other in what should be an exciting match. The main variable to watch out for in this match would be the fan that attacked Rhino and cost Thug Life their shot into the next round of the tournament. Will he be in attendance again tonight? Sexton Hardcastle has told us that just in case, Thug Life is bringing a back up plan with them. So whoever this little punk is, he better watch out. Venom vs. CW Anderson These two put on a fantastic contest at our last show, and management decided to let them go at it once again! CW Anderson was victorious, so you’ve got to assume Venom is going to go out of his way to even the score in this one. El Pantera & Gran Naniwa vs. Christian York & Joey Matthews Pantera and Naniwa were half of the international dream match at the last show, and they’re back again this month, this time they’re teaming up, against the youngsters of York and Matthews, who got bounced out of the tournament in the first round. Our home-grown rookies are looking to make their names in the industry, and what better way to do it than to take on the ferocious feline of lucha libre and the crab warrior from the orient? They put it all on the line at The Next Day! Number One Contender Match Mike Quackenbush vs. Tom Carter Yes folks, our reigning tag tournament champions are going to have to face off against one another in what is sure to be an instant classic. We don’t tag team champions yet in OMEGA, so as an additional prize for winning the tournament, we offered Quack and Carter a chance to go one on one, the winner getting a shot at the OMEGA Title at the next show!!! These two friends are willing to put their teamwork aside for one night and promised to not hold anything back to earn a title shot! OMEGA Title Match Surge © vs. Willow the Whisp Going into Alpha Contact, many people were under the impression that High Voltage, the team of Surge and Willow the Whisp were the odds on favorites to win it all. Surge already held the OMEGA Title, and Willow the Whisp has been on a nearly year-long winning streak. Unfortunately, these two simply could not work together, and we found out afterwards it was because Willow wanted nothing to do with Surge outside of taking the OMEGA Title away from him. Surge got word of this and, already enraged from getting bounced out of the tournament in the first round, he quickly accepted the challenge, and we’re going to have partners collide over the top prize in our company! Who will win? Will they ever be able to coincide as a tag team again? All these questions will be answered at The Next Day, so don’t miss a second of the action! “The Next Day” The crowd is heated and ready for some cutting edge OMEGA action. Our show is started off with Sexton Hardcastle and Rhino Richards coming to the ring much to everyone’s dismay, and the crowd lets them know, booing loudly at them. Sexton grabs a microphone and tears into the crowd before getting to his main order of business. He tells the crowd that they better not get used to seeing Thug Life ‘round these parts, because they’re not going to come back to a promotion where they’re attacked by deranged fans. The crowd cheers at the notion of Thug Life going away, but Sexton quickly mentions that if that psycho is in attendance tonight, and he wants to try to steal his fifteen minutes of fame from full-blown superstars, then he can do it, because they have a ace in the hole tonight, and anyone who tries to get in their way tonight is in for a world of hurt! And on that note, their opponents, Kid Vicious and Kid Dynamo came to the ring, and our first match began! Sexton Hardcastle & Rhino Richards vs. Kid Vicious & Kid Dynamo This match looked like it was going to be fairly one-sided in the way of Thug Life, but sure enough after only a few minutes into the match the fan from last month’s show hopped the barricade once more and made his presence felt, pulling Sexton off the apron and brawling with him as Rhino fought with The Thrillaz inside the ring. The referee quickly stopped the match as it quickly escalated into full blown anarchy. Winner: Draw Out of nowhere a young man with long blonde hair ran out from the back and attacked the fan from behind allowing Sexton to catch a breather. The blonde man then dropped the fan with a sickening Reverse DDT onto the cement floor before Sexton picked him up and rolled him into the ring. Sexton grabbed a microphone as his new partner and Rhino Richards got into the ring. Sexton introduced the blonde man as “Mr. Charisma” Jay Reso. Reso and Richards held up the limp body of the fan as Shawn Heth, OMEGA’s promoter ran out and informed everyone that this “fan” was, in fact, a trained wrestler, under the name Nelson Erazo. He also said that while he isn’t signed with OMEGA, he must want to work here, and so he shall, and with that, Heth restarted the match, making it a six man tag, adding in Reso and Erazo to their respective sides. And just as Heth left the ring and the bell sounded, Erazo caught a second wind, broke free of Reso’s hold, and dropped Rhino with a brutal Ace Crusher to begin the match! Jay Reso, Rhino Richards & Sexton Hardcastle vs. Kid Vicious, Kid Dynamo & Nelson Erazo What looked like it was going to be a one sided contest quickly became a evenly matched war, as we figured out the mystery surrounding young Nelson “187” Erazo, and Sexton Hardcastle debuted his Suicide Blondes partner, Jay Reso. Erazo, who already seemed to have Thug Life’s number through his multiple sneak-attacks, really shocked the crowd by the level of athleticism he showcased in the match. The Thrillaz started to get the upper hand on Reso and Hardcastle and so they rolled out of the ring to regroup. However Vicious and Dynamo quickly followed them, flying through the air with a pair of beautiful dives over the top rope, crashing down hard onto the Suicide Blondes. This left Rhino and Erazo alone in the ring together to duke it out. Erazo tried to take Rhino out with a lariat, but Rhino merely shrugged it off as Nelson had to step away from the recoil of the failed strike, which gave Richards ground to strike. He dove at Nelson, trying to break him in half with a Spear, but Erazo side-stepped it, and quickly ascended the turnbuckle. As Rhino slowly made his way to his feet, Nelson dove off the top rope and dropped Richards with a brutal Ace Crusher, which was enough for a three count! Winner: The Serial Thrillaz & Nelson Erazo The three members of Thug Life tried to help each other up and slowly hobbled to the back, glaring menacingly at Nelson Erazo who celebrated in the ring with Dynamo and Vicious. Venom vs. CW Anderson This match was constructed much like their contest last month, and once again their great chemistry helped them lift this match up to the next level. The finish came when Venom looked to Powerbomb CW, but he didn’t have the strength to life him due to CW pounding away at his back throughout the match. Anderson took advantage of this opening and planted Venom with a Spinebuster to pick up his second straight victory. Winner: CW Anderson Number One Contender Match Tom Carter vs. Mike Quackenbush This was hands down the match of the night. For as good as they were as a tag team, they were even better as opponents. They had perfect chemistry, their timing was just right and they flowed perfectly from move to move like nothing I’ve ever seen before in wrestling. You could just tell magic was happening with every counter-hold these two traded back and forth. You heard it hear first, Mike Quackenbush is going to be a world-class talent one day. He showed shimmers of that tonight, and finished off his friend and partner with a Quackendriver after a hard fought contest, and the crowd was on their feet in appreciation. As he got up Carter shook his partner's hand in respect to the new number one contender. Winner: Mike Quackenbush El Pantera & Gran Naniwa vs. Joey Matthews & Christian York This was a fun high-paced match between two of our highest flying tag teams. Matthews and York showed great heart, but heart wasn’t enough to combat the years of experience that El Pantera brought to the table. The lucha star ended this match shortly with a beautiful Moonsault onto York as Naniwa and Matthews brawled on the outside. Winner: El Pantera & Gran Naniwa Steve Corino came down to the ring, with microphone in hand, and chatted up the crowd for a little bit. He talked about coming so close in the four-way last month, and that tonight he wants to have a match. He wasn’t booked against anyone, so he’s making an open challenge to anyone to come face him. Surely he wasn’t expecting the result that occurred, as one of the top juniorweights of AJPW, Yoshinari Ogawa, came out much to the shock of everyone! Steve Corino vs. Yoshinari Ogawa After the crowd calmed down from the initial explosion, they all sat on the edge of their seats as these two finely-tuned athletes went hold for hold and strike for strike in an extremely competitive contest. Ogawa looked like he was going to take the victory with a bridging back suplex, but Corino kicked out which shocked the crowd, as well as Ogawa. Ogawa went for another one, but Corino spun behind with the back reversal, and dropped Ogawa with an Old School Expulsion. Ogawa kicked out at one and Corino went for another Expulsion, which Ogawa fought his way out of, and went for a knock out with a roundhouse kick which Corino ducked below and took Ogawa out with a school boy, which caught Yoshi off guard and was enough for the three count! Winner: Steve Corino Following the match, Corino offered Ogawa a handshake, which was accepted, and the crowd applauded the show of good sportsmanship. OMEGA Title Match Surge vs. Willow the Whisp Two of OMEGA’s figureheads went one on one in a match that was sure to electrify the crowd with exciting high-flying action. This match saw Willow trying to outshine the more technical Surge with a variety of flips and dives which often failed and Surge took advantage of that, and laid waste to his partner. Surge had Willow finished, but just to close the deal, he came off the top with a Flying Legdrop which was enough to end the match. Winner: Surge After the contest, Surge helped Willow up and tried to raise his hand in celebration, but Willow pushed him away, pointing to the turnbuckle, motioning at this throat and yelling at Surge before eventually storming out the ring and marching to the back, leaving the champion disappointed and upset as the show came to a close.
