Random thought of the day... pride may be a sin. but like many of t hose other sins, it feels pretty good. The first show of SWF Generation Supreme came off pretty well. Okay, it was just average for the most part. But it still came off. The ratings were... well, no one expects great ratings for a B-show. We're not parading main eventers like we do on Supreme TV. It's all about the young guys, and they delivered for the most part. It's important to me since its my baby. It's all my idea - the whole Generation Supreme storyline is my idea. It was Richard Eisen who decided to sign all that young talent back in January, but he had no idea how to properly integrate those new workers into Supreme. Nobody else did, either. The Supreme Generation storyline, the new TV show to showcase these young guys, the methods that will be used to gradually introduce the talent from Rhode Island Pro Wrestling. All my ideas. If that comes across as a bit self-serving and self-aggrandizing on my part, so be it. Of course, ideas are great, but it has to work on-screen and in the ring. The first litmus test was last night, with the very first show of Generation Supreme. And it worked enough to prove that it can work. There are plenty of places this could still fail. Still plenty of ways for me to lose the faith of Richard Eisen and the Supreme cadre. though I'm not quite certain how I managed to win that trust in the first place. Therein lies my problem. How does one keep what was obtained in a manner they still don't completely understand? Finally getting to see my Generation Supreme ideas get on their air gave me a bit of perspective. I didn't even have to put on my Personal-Objectivity-Man costume. Maybe I'll enjoy this ride after all. Wednesday, Week 1, March 2008 Avatar

okay so i just read the full two pages and I have to say. Ill be reading. I'm a big fan of SWF and its good to see more SWF diaries on the board...(i wish my computer would get out of the shop so i can have my files to continue mine, but thats another story...) I'm really liking your writing style, with the random thoughts and the news style reports I think its really unique and captivating. Also (and this IS based on just one show so we'll see how it develops) a lot of your booking seems solid, and obviously you've risen to global within a few months which means you know how to work the game but in that one show the ammount of backstage attacks compared to promos was kind of a let down. I'm a big fan of giving guys mic time, and I know there are different ways of using up that 30% of non match time. But I guess I would like to see more promo's because you do write very convincingly, and I'm a big fan of character development and I don't see too much development coming from constant backstage attacks. Other than that though I really like, and ill be reading. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the encouragement. Regarding the backstage attacks... I wasn't careful and managed to book three in one show. I completely agree that loading up on the kind of stuff isn't the best booking style for SWF and it doesn't make for the most entertaining reading. I do have more fun with in-ring promos, though they tend to take awhile to write up. The point of this diary is really about storylines and characters, and while storylines can be advanced with any sort of segment at all, I think promos are the best way to develop the characters, at least in this case. There are definitely going to be attack angles, but definitely more of a varied mix than that! That said, all three of those segments had a purpose - some quite immediate and some further down the road. As for getting to global that quick, I was actually quite surprised. I figured I would do it a few months after getting Supreme TV carried in Canada. I was booking in January and February pretty much the same as March, though maybe with a little less care since I knew I wasn't going to post reports.
Robbie Retro is the future. Murder on the Dancefloor! Oh and just noticed the music video links...nice touch, but I'm not sure about the choice for the samoans xD
Adding the music is a fun little aspect. Don't have everyone's picked out yet. Linking it this way is kinda indirect but its easy to find stuff and it works. As for the Duran Duran... It fit and it amused me. I figure not everyone is going to have serious intense music. Some are going to have goofy stuff, playing off the comedy aspect of the promotion. I did try to think of something else for them, but nothing else really fit any better. Plus I've always liked that song for weird reason.

Heheh fair enough then. To combine my too previous points, Retro seriously has to use this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b714Wi4CDsQ Just imagine, once he's the figurehead of the promotion, he's been out for a while, there's a huge brawl or something in the ring just waiting for that number one babyface to clean house, and then THAT music hits to a massive ovation  Stone Cold combined with Disco Stu, basically xD

Random thought of the day... does being the superior to someone you are clearly inferior to make you a walking contradiction? If you met Larry Wood under normal circumstances, most people would never guess he was a professional wrestler at all. There are clues - he's not only a big guy but obviously in good shape, and his mug bears more than a few scars. Most professional wrestlers, like many professional athletes, often bear an aura of confidence and intensity that is noticeable. I have even found that many wrestlers are natural fighters and walk around with the potential for an eruption of violence trailing them around like a bad stink. Larry doesn't have any of that. He's articulate, intelligent, and well-spoken. The typical first impression of Larry is that of a mild-mannered bookish teddy bear. Uh, have you ever seen this guy wrestle? I recall with vivid clarity the first time I ever saw Mr. Wood in the ring. It was an on-line clip a buddy emailed me a few years ago. Wood was wrestling in some Japanese promotion and both guys were bloody, but Wood was opening up a massive wound in his opponents forehead using a plastic toy Godzilla. It was one of the bloodiest and most vicious moments I've ever seen in wrestling, and yet hilarious at the same time. Another match I recall, he used repeated elbows to turn an opponents face to hamburger. I mean, to the point the guy probably never looked quite the same. So knowing that Larry Wood isn't a mild-mannered bookish teddy bear but one of the most intense and hardcore wrestlers in the world, it feels a bit odd to stand next to him. To have him act deferential to me and call me "sir" feels more than odd. Its just wrong. The pair of us were standing on an observation deck above the busy training center floor. The Eisen Center is ultra-modern and has been open less than a year. It is the SWF's main training facility and home to RIPW at the same time. The main training room is massive and impressive, but it tickled my nostrils with a curious combination new building smell and the permeating stink of sweat. "That kid from the island looks good, sir," Larry told me. "We expected that. And please, juts call me Avatar." "Okay Avatar sir." I shook my head and wrote it off to him being Canadian. Did I come across as that over-polite, too? There were more than two dozen men down on the floor, engaged in various types of training. A couple were trainers, but most were RIPW guys in training. There was a group in one of the classrooms as well. Supreme currently had a lot of guys in development. "Those big guys are raw, but they definitely have some potential." "Still need some time?" "I would say so, sir," Larry nodded. The Eisen Center facility was not far outside of Providence, less than a half hour drive from the Supreme One building. Yet the corporate headquarters was a world away from the training facility at the same time. The Eisen's had sent me to check up on the guys in development. And the ladies, too, I guess. Wood and everyone else was treated me with a great deal of respect since they knew who sent me. Respect I had never earned and probably didn't deserve. "So who's ready to make the jump?" I asked the Head Trainer point blank. "Well, sir, I had a few thoughts on that..." We continued to talk about who was ready and who wasn't while still watching the activity below. I spotted Steve Flash working with a tag team that we had great hopes for. Louis Figo Manico was barking orders in a combination of English and Spanish at another group of trainees, who somehow understood what he wanted from them. I'm not quite sure what sequence of events or aligning of the stars allowed Richard Eisen to land guys like these to work as trainers. Manico, I understand, since he was unemployed. But Flash and Wood are both great workers in their own regards and very valuable to the right kind of promotions. They left notable positions in other promotions to come to Rhode Island. They both work RIPW shows every month, but they're here to work as trainers primarily and everyone knows that. Both seem happy with it, though. I guess they just hit that point in their careers...? Its great that we have trainers of this caliber, but what makes me feel so unsure about the whole situation is having great wrestlers like these guys acting as if I'm the big boss. Throughout our discussion of the trainees, I came to understand why Wood had been made the Head Trainer. The big man was calculated and thorough in his analysis of each trainee. Afterward, he asked me a question that threw me off a little. Before he asked it, Wood stared at me with calculating, assessing eyes. I was afraid for a second he would realize that in no way was I his superior or even his equal. When he spoke, he asked, "Is it true that this whole Generation thing is your idea?" Simple question but not such a simple answer. In a basic sense, yes, its my idea. My concept and my plan, but its not likely the whole deal is all me at this point. But I give the simple answer. "Yes." Wood considers this for a second, then says, "Just want to say, great work, Mr. Avatar. All the guys here love you for it." Huh? What? Am I really some kind of hero to all these young guys because of an idea that I managed to spew out at the right time and place? I just nodded at Wood and muttered a thanks, my poor brain reeling from the idea. This whole situation feels too surreal. Am I just dreaming all of this? I shouldn't be up on the balcony with the Head Trainer trying to assess these guys. I should be down on the floor, learning with them. I'm one of them, not someone they should look up to or adulate. Am I the only one who sees how wrong this all is? Perversely, I think I am. Monday, Week 1, March, 2008 Avatar

I'm Peter Michaels. With me tonight are Phil Vibert and Jerry Eisen. Jerry Eisen: Great to be here with both of you gentlemen tonight. After smiling and posing to get further reaction from the crowd, he scurries down to the ring in a hurry. Jack Bruce: I got a question for you, Virginia. Do you know what time it is? The crowd roars back at the champion, "It's show time!" Jack Bruce: That's right! It's show time! Because I'm the man with the crown. The man who won't let you frown and will never let you down. I'm here with my beautiful World Heavyweight belt. And I here to remind all you fans and everyone in the back that no one is taking my belt away. I've gone through heaven and hell for us to be together. And there isn't any one - not Brandon James and not DeBones - that can tear us apart. Bruce pauses dramatically, taking the belt from around his waste and laying it in the middle of the ring. He pauses to admire it. Jack Bruce: You know, when you've done everything it takes to climb to the very top of the mountain, you see things a bit different. It's a different perspective, you know? You realize that everyone is gunning for you. You're the target. You have what everyone is trying to take. What everyone wants. But you know? Bring it on! Show Time isn't afraid. The Long Island Angel isn't afraid. And anyone thinking they will get my belt away from... Bruce trails off as music cues the entrance of someone... But you seemed to be getting yourself a bit worked up in there. You aren't so young any more, Jack, and I wouldn't want you wearing yourself out before your match with Big Money on Thursday. Jack Bruce: I don't know if you're in any position to be calling anyone old, Emma. Emma Chase: Good point, champ. Very noble of you to point that out. Thank you. But I am serious. You have a massive challenge in front of you in two days. We all know how much you covet that title belt, and how much you must be worried about Vengeance. But failing to take Brandon serious will be your downfall. Jack Bruce: I'm not overlooking anyone, Emma. I know how much work you had to put in with Eisen to convince him to give your puppet this shot. But you wasted your time. The Long Island Angel will be the only one making an awesome impact! Emma Chase: Everyone falls eventually, Jack. I'm going to make sure I'm there to see it when you do. In the meantime, I know you need to find someplace private so you can caress your title belt... while its still yours. Chase disappears backstage as abruptly as she appeared. Faith and DuBois put on a memorable show, with the youngster going on the attack early and using his speed to nullify Faith's size advantage. The Canadian comes close to getting the upset win more than once, but as he has so many times before, Faith refuses to lose. He finishes DuBois with a Leap of Faith, after the Faith Hammer. The elder Bumfhole brother provides a solid challenge to Gilmore and the match is quite even for the most part. Neither man can gain a real edge. It takes subtle interference from Gilmore's tag team partner Joe Sexy to allow Gilmore to take control. He gets the submission just before Zimmy's brother Randy arrives at ringside. Angry doesn't look too happy at his partner's interference, but Randy Bumfhole is downright irate. Emma Chase and Rich Money are particularly effective at egging the crowd on. Emma Chase: I know you all enjoyed the little show Remo and Brandon put on with Lobby earlier. Don't worry - there is plenty more of that to come. Like any proper business, Big Money Incorporated has a very specific business plan. And everyone in the back is just hoping their name isn't on it. Remo: Make it easy on yourself, Lobster, and just walk away. Follow your friends and leave. Emma Chase: Now we found out yesterday that Rich here is facing Christian Faith at Awesome Impact. And we couldn't be happier. And its going to be epic to notch a win over him before we retire the old man. Emma Chase: Awesome Impact is going to be quite the momentum occasion for Big Money Incorporated. Not only does Remo get to win the Number One Contender Supreme Threefold Threat Match, but Brandon here gets to take Jack Bruce's title. Brandon James: Bruce, you're mine on Thursday. He actually attempts to take his chain into the ring, until the referee tentatively takes it away from him. The former World Heavyweight champion looks timid as he faces up to the monster Vengeance. Enygma's first attempts at attack are relatively ineffective. The big man tires of it and begins to batter Enygma around. It looks like it could be over quick, but Enygma slows his opponent with a vicious kick to the knee. He actually takes control of the match momentarily as he continues to attack Vengeance's leg. But the man former known as Skull DeBones tires of the game soon enough. Enygma manages to stretch the match out by using his quickness to essentially play keep-away. But he puts Enygma down for the count after a particularly nasty Avenging Leap.
Random thought of the day... when others offer advice, its occasionally wise to heed it. My early pro wrestling training was in a sweaty dank gym on the outskirts of Vancouver with the DeColt family and some of the roster from Canadian Golden Combat. That was not quite a year ago now, but its all a blur in my memory. All the training sessions, instructions, and royal purple bruises are relatively indistinguishable to my addled mind. However, one bit sticks out in retrospect. I was working with Sean Deeley - getting worked over by him would be more accurate - and Alex DeColt was coaching us. Working with Alex was a bit different from any of the other DeColt boys, as he talked through the whole thing. Alex was giving what he called his "Absolutely Necessary Life Lessons in the Pursuit of Being a Professional Wrestler". It was clear he was giving it for my benefit. "You are going to a jobber when you start out. Pretty much everyone is and its easiest just to accept it. Wrench back a bit on that, Sean. The politically correct term for it is "Enhancement Talent", and your job is to enhance everyone else by jobbing to them. No, twist the neck harder to make it really hurt. Now there are three rules to being a jobber. One, accept that you are a jobber. Two, do the best job you can to make others look good. Now torque on the shoulder so he can't move his arm. And three, keep your mouth shut." "Are you getting this?" I quietly asked Deeley? "Heard it," he said bluntly, then went about sending shivers of pain down my spine by trying to break my body. That was Sean - good guy but utterly focused on the job at hand. Physically, he's not much bigger than me but he could toss me around the ring like an adult tossing an infant child. The guy is an NCAA wrestling champion, which pretty obviously eclipses my claim of being part of the University of British Columbia wrestling team. Still, I figured I might be able to hold my own a little when it came to the technical grappling against him, but not really at all. That's okay - I can console myself with the fact that he's ice cold poor on the microphone and that's going to keep him from ever really going over in a promotion like CGC. Anyway, back to the advice from Jack. The three-time CGC World champion was telling me to keep my mouth shut. I took him to mean it in a figurative sense, similar to when you tell a child that they should be "seen and not heard". But no, he meant it literally. Just shut the hell up. And I didn't listen. I probably wouldn't be where I am right now if I had listened. I don't remember exactly where we were, or when it was. I know that it was about a month before Christmas. I was working some house shows for SWF with a few other young guys. Some of us had contracts already and some were still trying to earn them. I had already signed and was just working a few shows to give the Supreme team an idea of what I could do before they sent me down to Rhode Island. I was okay with that. They had about eight of us young guys sharing one locker room. We all did our bit early and were just sitting around, sharing stories until the road agent told us it was cool to leave. We were anxious to grab some food. Jerry Eisen suddenly walks into the room and everyone instantly shuts the hell up. He tells us he needs to talk to us and we all expect the worst. "We're looking for some new ideas, marketing and such. Personally, I prefer to leave that kind of stuff to the marketing professionals we pay so well. Eric always we insists we ask the talent for ideas, and I guess you boys qualify in some way as that. So any suggestions?" The response was initial silence from everyone. I had ideas, but should I share them? When no one else spoke, I did. I can't recall word for word what I had said at that moment. I recall that most of the suggestions revolved around the website. Things like doing a weekly podcast talk show, offering exclusive content for Supreme Supporter subscribers, have some streaming videos from house shows, maybe even a properly-moderated forum that the workers would actually post on. I mentioned something about storylines on Supreme TV, but I honestly don't recall what that part was. Soon as the words were out of my mouth, I wanted to put them right back in. Jerry Eisen didn't react. He looked at me for a moment, gave a slight nod and a muttered "Thanks", then left. All the other guys were staring at me as if I had just pronounced my eternal undying love for Scott Baio. I cracked some lame joke, they laughed, and we went back to aimlessly waiting around. I tried put the incident out of my mind and pretend like it never happened. But it did happen. I opened my mouth and there were consequences. It was just a few words but it was the beginning of the end... Or the end of the beginning? I don't know, but it changed everything... Wednesday, Week 2, March, 2008 Avatar

I really like how Jerry is clueless. It makes me laugh.
That really wasn't my intent originally, since his backstage "real" persona is serious. When I started writing, it just kinda happened that way. I realized that I didn't really need three "serious" approaches in the booth. I preferred Vibert in the sarcastic role, so I figured goofy would work for Jerry. Plus, I wanted to include a bit more comedy, given that its a key aspect of SWF, and I don't have any funny storylines going at the moment. I figured Jerry the blockhead would work for some laughs. Cheap laughs, but still laughs.
Some of the musical choices are great. However, I cannot give this diary a good rating so long as it features music from My Chemical Romance.
I wasn't going to do much with music, then threw it in a bit on the one post. Now I figure I gotta run with it. I'm putting far too much thought into picking the "right" songs for given workers, but its fun. Plus, I pick each one with specific intent, to fit my concept of each given wrestler. If you really wanted to analyze my approach with a given wrestler (and who doesn't?), then the music I chose would give you some clues. With the Bumfholes, I see them as pretty mainstream and accessible characters. Wide appeal to the masses. I wanted something contemporary but with the slightest hint of an edge. Stuff like Wolfmother and Shinedown might have worked, but I reserved it for the ever so slightly edgier characters. So Emo it was, and the likes of My Chemical Romance and Fallout Boy seemed to fit. The musical choices will change as the characters and pushes change. Trying to integrate it as part of the storytelling of the diary. Just wish I had a more direct way to embed the music. And a note - I should have the PPV show posted within the next couple of days, depending on how the long the write-up takes. I was going to post the card, but I honestly think it might be a bit too easy to predict at this point.

On the topic of theme music, I always pictured Rich Money's music being this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny_j-bAhq68 But I guess you are going for the group music between Big Money Inc. Really enjoying reading this, I love SWF and it makes me happy to see an in-depth diary about them.

Caufield seems content to allow Flex to stall, eventually getting ahold of him long enough to batter him down and get the submission win. Chris Caufield Wins at 8:54 via Pinfall Grade: C+
Peter Michaels: Not the most courageous display by Flex. Phil Vibert: Sometimes you do what you have to do to try to win, but that kind of tactic isn't going to work against Caufield. Though heavily outweighed by Vengeance, Tyler seems willing to go blow-for-blow with his opponent. They take it to the outside, continuing to batter away. Neither man seems close to getting a pin. Tyler is cut open when he is thrown face-first into the ringpost on the outside, but he continues to battle. Vengeance seems to be leaking blood from beneath his mask as well, though its difficult to tell given how much Tyler is bleeding. Back in the ring, Vengeance batters away at Tyler. The 47-year is offering almost nothing in terms of offense, but he kicks out of several pin attempts. Referee Shane Stones eventually calls the match and awards the win to Vengeance, to save Eric Tyler from further harm. The crowd is hot from the entertaining battle. The crowd is hot, really pushing the match along. Money manipulates the crowd very well, generating further heat. The match itself is more brawl than technical, but both men spent plenty of time in control. Near the quarter hour mark, Brandon James and Remo make their way to ringside. When it appears that the distraction has worked and Money tries to take advantage, Faith proves his wiles by countering and nearly getting the win. While the men on the outside have the ref distracted, Money loads up with a foreign object and nails Faith. Money just barely gets the three count and the win. Tell you to "Have Faith" and all that. But I won't, because the reality is that I just lost. Tonight, Rich Money is the better man. The real reason I came out is that I wanted to address something else. Brandon James has said several times that his goal is to put me into retirement. Seems like a noble goal - I am getting a bit long in the tooth. Not that Mr. James is exactly that young himself. I guess he only acts like a young punk. But that eloquent "You're old so I'm going to make you retire" speech that I got from Mr. James at the last pay per view got me thinking. This not so young punk isn't the first to try to put me out to pasture. Runaway Train came damned close. Vengeance tried a few months ago. Now Mr. James. So I have to ask myself - do they have a point? Is Christian Faith done? He leaves a dramatic pause. Christian Faith: There are not many in this business who can keep going beyond the age of 40. And I passed that a long time ago. Guys like Eric Tyler and Sam Keith are the exceptions. Not everyone can do that. And maybe I can't. I have to ask myself "Do I still have it?" Do I still what it takes to get in here and really battle, night after night? I'm fighting a losing battle. When is it time to say "enough"? So maybe Brandon James and Emma Chase and everyone else that doubts me is right. Sorry to come out here and ramble like this, but I've been putting a lot of thought into this lately. The match tonight kind of brought things together for me. So I came out here with an answer. Will I walk away? Faith leaves a long hanging pause. The crowd is silent. Christian Faith: Hell no! The crowd absolutely roars and Faith gets fired up. Christian Faith: I've been here in this ring for twenty years. Two decades. I've come out here night after night and fought and battled and bled for you fans. And I've loved every minute of it. And no one is going to tell me that its time to end that. Especially not a punk like Brandon James. I'm not walking away until I can't walk anymore. Until there's nothing left of me to give. That's when its over. Not before then. So if you want to try end me, James, then I say bring it. You can bring your friends, and I'll bring mine. And one thing is certain - I'll still be standing when its over. I'll still be in this ring and proud of it. So if you wanna go to war with me, Brandon James, I have just two words for you... The crowd roars the response - "Have Faith". Grade: A
Peter Michaels: I don't think was the answer that Emma Chase and her toys were looking for. Steve Frehley comes out with his head bandaged but under his own power, and he receives a big ovation. The heat on Remo is massive. Its pretty clear that the strategy of Eisen and Remo is to double-team Frehley. The pair work him over pretty thoroughly. The cooperation ends when Eisen tries to sneak a pin on Frehley while Remo has his back turned. Remo chases down the smaller Eisen, giving Frehley a chance to recover. When Remo climbs back into the ring, Frehley is ready. The two big men battle in the ring while Eisen hangs to the outside and tries to stay out. Remo delivers several blows to Frehley's wounded head, causing him to start bleeding again. The Dark Destroyer continues to battle, but is clearly waning. Remo hits a vicious kick to the head that puts Frehley on the mat. Again, Eisen tries to sneak in to get the pin. This time, Remo grabs him and throws him over the top rope from the middle of the ring. He then pins Frehley to take the win. Remo Wins at 16:55 via Pinfall Grade: B-
Peter Michaels: I doubt that would have been the same match if Frehley was one hundred percent. Ana Garcia: Aren't you worried that Emma Chase might interfere. Jack Bruce: The champ doesn't like it when he has to repeat himself, honey. I don't fear anything. He can bring his friends. He can bring his family. He can bring his dog and his dog's friends. It won't change what's going to happen. Because when it's time, everyone knows it. Grade: A
Peter Michaels: Well, the champ is certainly hyped for the match. Its a solid match but not quite as spectacular as the earlier matches. Bruce takes it to James early, using his quickness to wear down the bigger man. The champion even pulls out some of his aerial arsenal to throw at the challenger. But a missed drop kick from the top rope let's James take control and he begins to use his strength to overpower Bruce. The champion looks to be in danger as James continues to batter away at him. Bruce is reduced to basically brawling to get back into the match, but he does what it takes. Rich Money and Remo make an appearance, joining Emma Chase at ringside. But the champion refuses to be distracted. The ref keeps them from interfering in any way. The match ends when the champion lands his Long Island Trio, followed up by a New York Minute. The three big men slowly circle the ring and Bruce realizes their intent. Before they can make their move, Frehley, Faith and Lobster Warrior come down and join Bruce in the ring. Big Money still jump into the ring and a brawl breaks out. As the men brawl in the ring, Vengeance appears next to Emma Chase. As Chase bolts, he climbs into the ring and wraps his chain around the neck of Jack Bruce. He chokes the champion while Lobster Warrior tries to free him, battling Remo at the same time. Security officials make it to the ring in force, trying to separate everyone.
Random thought of the day… in the Butterfly Effect theory, does the butterfly have any concept of the long-term damage they may be doing every time they flap their pretty little wings? So the Awesome Impact pay per view came off, and quite well. I personally thought the results were a bit predictable, but a lot if it setting stuff up for the future. The hard numbers were solid, as it looks like the buyrate was at about the expected level. And the feedback from the fans, both on the actual SWF forum and non-affiliated wrestling forums we monitor, has been predominantly quite solid as well. Jerry and Eric Eisen took the entire Creative Committee out for a helluva nice supper after the pay per view ended. It was late, but they had the restaurant stay open late. Apparently I was something of the guest of honor. I enjoyed my $75 steak almost as much as I enjoyed the plaudits everyone was throwing my way. A strange thought is that I've been doing this for nearly three months now and I don't think a single person at that table could tell you my actual name. Another odd thought that I had at the end of the meal was that relatively few members of the Committee were Supreme loyalists. Guys like Peter Michaels and Christian Faith are SWF lifers, most likely. But both are taking an ever-smaller role in booking. The young guys, such as DuBois, Robbie, Valiant - even myself - may turn out to be lifers, but we are not yet. A lot of the others, such as Gilmore, McClean, Chase, and even Vibert have all worked elsewhere and do not necessarily have any real natural loyalty to SWF and the Eisen's. That's not to say they are complete mercenaries who have no concern for the long-term welfare of their current employer, just that they don't have the long-term investment of the proven loyalists. Why does that matter? It probably doesn't. I just can't help thinking that Supreme has a whole lot riding on a few people who don't necessarily have the the investment in Supreme if everything goes sour. It could just be Richard Eisen's way of insulating SWF in case there is another "Election" scenario, but it could just as easily backfire on the promotion. I'm just looking at this from my end. How much do I really have riding on this? Making an unholy mess out of everything would probably result, at worst, in me being blacklisted from the business. Not cool, but I'm young and there other business out there. That's probably a worse thought for some of the other young guys, who have probably invested more into making this a career than I have. Not that I haven't worked at it, but I'm the kind of person that figures that life is one long journey and this is just one little part of it, so life will go on even if this path doesn't. I still can't help wondering about the current make-up of the Committee, though. Sure, there is plenty of experienced people on it. But most of them are doing very little. The likes of Faith, Gilmore, even DuBois, really only stick around for the main meetings. They're gone by the time the real works starts. Same with Peter Michaels. He still has the title of Head Booker, but he really just acts as oversight to the committee now. He has to approve any major storylines, title changes, or turns, but he has yet to nix any idea we've gone to him with. There are only five of us on the Committee who really grind through everything. Me, Robbie, Valiant, Florence, and Vibert. Emma Chase and Chris Morrissette are fairly active as well. Plus, there's the writer. The writer is a young guy named Winston Spengler. Seriously. He's a Script Doctor. Again, seriously - he has that listed as his occupation on his business cards. He's apparently done a bunch of work on Hollywood films, and Richard Esien brought him in to help out with the writing. Mostly, he does stuff for promo dialogue. Spengler's actually pretty good at it but it doesn't change the fact that the guy is pretty sketchy overall. The committee is meeting pretty much every day at this point for at least a short meeting. Probably twice a week, we're in there all day. I don't have a problem with the work required, but I do have a bit of an issue with being the leader of the Committee. Its not official, of course. But its pretty clear. Everyone defers to me, even Spengler. How the hell is someone like Phil Vibert not taking the lead? He's plenty helpful and full of great ideas, but he seems very contentious of not stepping on my toes. How can I tell him that I would be quite happy to cede the leadership role to him? My anointment was never a stated thing, so far as I understand. It was simply how things evolved. My personal punishment for having the gall to make suggestions that were deemed as quality and heeded. Again, I think I'm a layer of protection. If there is a major problem like there was last year, I'm the designated scapegoat. They can dump me and protect Michaels. I don't really have much issue with that, to be honest. At the same time, they seem to like what I'm doing. If I keep going like this, I might become the irreplaceable one. That's a bit of a scary thought for someone who would rather be in the ring taking the bumps than backstage planning them out. The other scary thought is that I'm cognisant of the long-term damage I could do to SWF. There are repercussions when things don't work on-screen, just as the failure of the Election storyline has created ripples - Vibert, Generation Supreme, the new "edge" to the promotion, even me. Supreme is a promotion that tries to build continuity. It’s a luxury many promotions don't have, but the stability of SWF has allowed them to build continuity for a long time and its something we're always striving to maintain. So worst enemies last week can't be best friends this week without some good explanation for the fans. So any and every decision I make today regarding a given character or storyline could have repercussions far down the road. So I guess I'm very much like that butterfly, but I'm all too aware of it. Goucho Bling: How it looks doesn't matter. What it matters is the power that it gives you. Darryl Devine: The power? Elmo Benson: The power of the headband. Darryl Devine: What are you talking about? What power does it have? Groucho Bling: If you don't wear the headband, you'll never know. Darryl Devine: Can't you just explain it to me so I don't feel as dumb? Groucho Bling: It can't be explained, Darryl. Its the power of the headband. Elmo Benson: The power of the headband. Darryl Devine: How can it have any power? Its a piece of cloth. Groucho Bling: You'll never learn about it unless you try it. Elmo Benson: The power of the headband. Darryl Devine: Okay, I really don't want to wear this thing now. Groucho Bling: You have to wear it. If you don't put it on, we can't go out there as a team. If we don't go out there as a team, we can't wrestle. If we can't wrestle, we can't win. If we don't win, we can't celebrate. That's the power of the headband. Darryl Devine: Okay, I'll wear the stupid thing. Devine puts on the headband and shakes his head. Groucho Bling: Now we're ready. Let's go team! Elmo Benson: The power of the headband. The more powerful trios controls the match early, dominating first Darryl Devine, then Elmo Benson. When Bling gets in, he manages to isolate Shady K and wear him down. Some quick and fluid teamwork between Bling and Benson allows Benson to get the pin while Devine occupies Laramee on the outside.
Random thought of the day... does history feel history when you're making history? The history of professional wrestling is that of legend and lore. Its full of colorful characters, bigger-than-life moments, and weird tales. There is a very good chance that my story will go into that lore. Will I be an underdog story of out-of-nowhere success or a cautionary tale of what not to do? Unfortunately, at this point, it could go either way. That is not a comfortable thought. When years have passed from now, what will be considered the opening moment of my legacy, the blurted words in a sweaty locker room or the unexpected meeting with the most powerful man in the wrestling industry? One lead to the other, but which really set everything in motion? It had been maybe a week since my suggestions to Jerry Eisen when I was requested to visit the Supreme One in Providence. I had been the SWF headquarters once before and the second visit was really no less impressive than the first. The massive building was one half contemporary conceptual architectural art and one half gaudy pop culture tribute to all things Supreme, the entire building looking entirely out of place with even the modern portions of the city. The building is the functioning headquarters to the entire Supreme empire and as such is closed to the public save for the ground floor. With that in mind, the lobby was as massive and imposing as possible. Professional wrestling's version of Valhalla wrought in marble, glass, and steel. The centerpiece of the main lobby is a life-size bronze sculpture of the famous Sam Strong versus Rip Chord match from the 1981 Supreme Challenge show. The absence of a referee in the ring with the two legends is conspicuous, however. Would anyone but me notice that? The ring is surrounded by a series of equally-impressive individual sculptures in gleaming silver steel. Not just Strong and Chord, but also the likes of Bruce the Giant, Christian Faith, Dread, and Richard Eisen himself. There is even a statue of Sam Keith, which I find a bit odd at this point. Beyond the main lobby lies a wing that is called, ostentatiously, the Hall of Champions, the SWF version of a Hall of Fame. In the distan ce, I could see the flicking kaleidoscope of colors that is actually a massive bank of LCD monitors that constantly loop a compilation of 30 years of Supreme highlights. There were sparse red and silver decorations throughout the lobby, a minor nod to the coming Christmas. A massive tree with an abundance of decorations somehow looked of place in the space. I walked in with little concern. My expectation was that I was that I was asked to come to Supreme One so they could explain why they were sending me down to Rhode Island Pro Wrestling for awhile. The thought that I'm here because I had the audacity to make some suggestions to an Eisen never crossed ,u mind as more than the merely flicker. I checked in at the marble monstrosity they call a reception desk and security called down someone to meet me. My own personal Valkyrie soon appeared, a pixie blond who introduces herself as "Toni, with an I, not a Y". She escorted me into the secure elevators and up into the heart of Valhalla. On our journey, I couldn't help but feel that she seemed familiar. I was tempted to ask if she's was on TV for Supreme at some point but I restrain myself. Our journey took us through a maze of hallways and offices and reception areas. Everywhere in the building is SWF memorabilia. Its as if the entire place has been stamped with the Supreme brand. We ended up at the open door to a small, windowless office with a desk, a chair, and nothing else. The desk had a pad of paper and a rather expensive pen. "This is for you," Toni told me. "Jerry relayed the ideas you had and we were quite impressed. What we would like you to do is focus on storylines for the show. We would like you to write down the ten best ideas you have in that regard. They can be specific to individual workers or just general ideas, but include as much detail as possible." "Is this a test?" "You could regard it that way," was her cryptic answer. She told me that she would be back in one hour. If I'm done prior to that, I can find her just down the hall. My test took me less than a quarter of an hour. Ten ideas? I could list fifty and still take less than an hour. As a wrestling fan, little has bothered me more in recent years than the fairly weak storylines of SWF. Not to mention the near lack of storylines in TCW. I wrote down enough detail that I get to the third page of the legal pad. I signed my name at the top of each sheet and tore them off, then exited my little work space. Apparently by "just down the hall", Toni actually meant the opposite far corner of the building. Tracking her down took me longer than writing my test. Toni seemed surprised to see me so quickly. She glanced over my work, gave me a slight nod, then led me to a reception waiting area. She told me to wait there for a bit and she would take me into my meeting. Before I could ask "what meeting?", she was gone. The wait was over an hour but it felt like days. The entire time, the iPod in my pocket called out to me but I resisted its siren call, let I look even more unprofessional than my worn khakis, T-shirt, and sneakers. Perhaps if they had bothered to tell me I would be meeting from someone from management, I would have bothered to make my appearance a bit more professional? Maybe. My wait ends when my cute little Valkyrie fetches me once again. I follow her down the maze of halls, up an elevator and into a massive reception area. The waiting area had rather comfortable-looking leader armchairs, with big flat screens showing SWF highlights. I catch that the highlight compilation is different from what is shown in the lobby. A huge receptionists desk stood guard before a pair of massive oak doors. The owner of the office could only be one man. I knew who my meeting with with. I threw up a little in my mouth. Was I really about to be lead into an impromptu meeting with the most powerful man in the world of professional wrestling? My brain shut down its primary functions for the moment, and I went through the motions in a surreal stupor. I was watching someone else and not really experiencing it first hand. It wasn't me standing there dumbly as Toni spoke to the secretary. It was someone else being led into the massive two story office of Richard Eisen, his huge desk sitting before a panoramic view of the Providence River. It was sort of me that Toni had to basically push into the big arm chair that was opposite Eisen's desk. Thankfully, the Supreme CEO was finishing up some other business before he got to me, allowing me a few moments to revive my mind. Its necessary to point out, I guess, that this was not the first time I had met Richard Eisen. I was very briefly introduced to him backstage at a house show not quite a month before. But there is a significant difference between being introduced as part of a group of young wrestlers and sitting down in a one-on-one meeting. "You go by Avatar, right?" was the first thing Richard Eisen said to me, arranging some papers on his huge desk. "I remember meeting you at a house show. Des Moines, I believe." "That's right," I nodded, then, "and that's right as well." Sharp memory on the man. "Look, I'll be up front here," the owner of the biggest promotion in the world told me. "Jerry forwarded me the ideas you gave him a couple of weeks ago. Fantastic. And this stuff." Eisen held up the sheets of paper I had filled up only an hour before. "Damned good as well." After a short pause, he added, "I've asked around about you. Seems like more a few people think you've got a pretty mind for the business." "Uh, thanks," was all I could manage to blurt out, taken aback more than a bit. The meeting lasted about an hour. It would be a waste for me to attempt to recount anything else in detail here, as my memory has pretty much blurred the entire meeting together. I do recall that Eisen was completely blunt and honest with me, admitting that he was concerned about the future of Supreme and that he felt the company lacked direction to an extent. Eisen admitted that the whole "SWF Election" storyline was a massive mistake, but the fallout had made him realize that some things had to change. He dropped the bombshell that he was in negotiations to hire Phil Vibert in a creative role, which left me near speechless. He did most of the talking that day. The main point that Richard Eisen made in that hour was that while SWF was not going to move away from its Sports Entertainment basis, he felt that Sports Entertainment needed to evolve a bit. "I would like you to be a part of that," he told me at the end of the meeting. I was asked to stay in Providence as Mr. Eisen wanted to meet with me again within a few days. Arrangements were made to put me up at a local 5-star hotel. Got to enjoy that for a couple of days until they called me back. The second meeting with Eisen last somewhere just over 5 hours. Oddly, I remember it with much better clarity than the first meeting. Maybe it is because I did more than just listen. I actually did a great deal of talking in this one. Jerry Eisen and Peter Michaels were also present for part of it. Those two seemed to like my ideas as much as Mr. Eisen himself did. Decisions were made. A weekly one-hour podcast hosted by Duane Fry would begin within weeks, with features like current storylines discussion, wrestler interviews, and even some backstage stuff that would skirt the edge of breaking kayfabe. Jerry, Peter, and I combined to talk to Richard into moving away a bit from some of the cartoony stuff that SWF currently utilizes, which is apparently something that Vibert was also pushing for in contract negotiations. We also made some decisions on the direction for storylines for the new year. A great many decisions, actually. It seemed crazy, but I was actually making major suggestions - such as primary storylines and title changes - that were being taken seriously and considered. This wasn't basic stuff - it was high-level primary booking for the promotion. Perhaps my finest idea was formed right during the meeting. Concerned over what he called "generational turnover" due to the age of some of the SWF's top workers, Eisen admitted that he was in the process of trying to sign a number of young wrestlers to exclusive deals. He didn't name names, but he dropped a few hints. They would join the young talent that Supreme already had, like myself, DuBois, the Bumfholes. At the time, I had no idea just how much new talent that Eisen meant. Eisen expressed serious concern about integrating those new workers into the roster. His concerns were broad, including issues like how to introduce the new workers into the roster, how to get them over with fans, what kind of storylines to use them in, and how to prevent the veteran workers from resenting the new influx of talent. There are always concerns about roster segregation, I was told. My response - why not force the segregation? It made sense when I blurted it ou t, but Eisen and Michaels seemed stunned by the idea, so I had to explain. The whole concept was fleshing itself out as I went. Instead of trying to hide the fact that this was a new generation of talent being introduced, I suggested focusing on it. Make it a focal point. Give it a name - and I actually suggested Generation Supreme at this point. Make it clear to the fans that these youngsters are the future Supreme Legends. Include some of the younger guys already on the roster like DuBois and Retro in it. Set up some feuds between the young guys and the SWF vets. Maybe even go so far as have specific shows for the new generation. It was this little wrestling soliloquy where I believe I really won the confidence of Richard Eisen. If I was a goose, that probably would have been the moment that I laid my golden egg. Eisen and Michaels were thrilled with the idea, and we immediately began to plan around it. The name was never in question - it was to be "Generation Supreme" from the moment I blurted it out. Eisen even called Jerry back in to share the idea with him, and he seemed enthusiastic too. The meeting wasn't over quite yet. The SWF CEO told me that his intent was to change from a standard "Head Booker" scenario to a "Creative Committee" booking approach. Michaels would stay on as the Head Booker with final authority, but he wanted a committee to be doing much of the writing. The idea was to have a variety - veteran wrestlers, rookie, wrestlers, backstage staff, even some professional writers. If Vibert was signed, he was going to be part of it. And after this meeting, Eisen wanted me to be a part of it. I wasn't about to say no to that - though I might if I knew then what I know now. Ever the businessman, Eisen also threw me a bit of an ultimatum to make sure I agreed. He told me that SWF needed me most right now in a creative role, which is what he was offering in the spot on the Creative Committee. If I preferred to focus purely on wrestling, then I was not necessary on the main SWF roster right now and would be sent down to Rhode Island Pro Wrestling. How could I say no to an offer like that. I left Richard Eisen's office and Supreme One that day with my mind reeling. It all still felt surreal. Within a week, I would have my own office in the building. An office smaller than most of the supply closets, but still an office. How was I supposed to know how this was all going to play out? The oddest thing about the pair of meetings is that not once did I get asked or called by my given name. Everyone just referred to me as Avatar. I'm not even certain anyone at Supreme One knows what my real name is besides the accounting department that signs my paychecks. I guess if this all goes south, I can always try to hide behind that...? When someone is reading my legend years from now - however the remainder of the story might yet go - I guess those meetings with Eisen and the big dogs of Supreme would be where this path was really set. The locker room suggestions to Jerry Eisen may have been a starting point but those meetings at Supreme One were where the path was defined. For good or ill, this journey was set on course there.
You know, I was very very tempted to go with this suggestion for Retro Robbie. It would've been fun. But I went with the RHCP song as it was one of the first ones I picked and fits a bit more with the Retro aspect, I think. Just a note for anyone reading - I'm out of town for the next week, so no updates for a bit. In the meantime, any thoughts or suggestions are more than welcome.

The Fry Report Preview
Every week on The Fry Report podcast will provide the latest information on everything Supreme. News, rumors, and interviews, all brought to you by the incomparable Duane Fry. Preview for podcast available Monday, Week 3, March 2008 "We will talk about the results from SWF Awesome Impact and what it all means." "It looks like the sky is the limit for upcoming Supreme Legend Marc DuBois. I had a chance to talk in depth with the Canadian youngster and he had few interesting things to say." "Speaking of young Canadians, I also had a conversation with Eric Tyler. Fans should be most interested to hear what he has to say about why he chose to join Supreme and what he hopes to accomplish here." "Most fans felt that the battle between Rich Money and Christian Faith was the best match at Awesome Impact. With good reason. It was an entertaining war. The "Iron Man" has given those again and again through his long career. Did anyone really expect him to walk away? The man is a machine and seems like might keep going forever. I'll go over a few of my favorite Christian Faith memories." "The antics of Big Money Enterprises lately have stirred up some ire lately. Find out which SWF star has had enough." "There is apparently some tension backstage over Phil Vibert and the power he's been given since joining the company. According to what I've heard, a few at Supreme are not impressed so far with how Vibert has chosen to exercise that power. Most notably, he has brought in his friends Chris Caufield and Eric Tyler. The rumor pipeline says that Vibert has some new moves coming soon and if that's true, its likely only going to make things more tense." "Just who or what B.K. is has been the subject of much speculation. No, unfortunately even I don't know yet. But I will discuss some of the more interesting rumors I've seen about those mysterious promo spots." "Anyone who thought the war between Jack Bruce and Vengeance was over was clearly wrong. These two Supreme Legends simply do not like each other. The Harbinger will stop at nothing to get the belt from Bruce. And for his part, the Long Island Angel has proven amazingly resilient since winning the SWF World Heavyweight title back in August. I have a multitude of thoughts to share on this rivalry for the ages."
The Fry Report will be available on SWF.com or directly from iTunes.

I'm Peter Michaels. With me tonight are Phil Vibert and Jerry Eisen. Jerry Eisen: A pleasure to be here, Peter. Phil Vibert: Here for the paycheck, Peter. But feel free to pretend otherwise.
Steve Frehley In-Ring Confrontation Steve Frehely gets a monster pop as he appears top of the ramp. The big man pounds on his chest and gestures a bit to get the crowd more riled, then he stomps down to the ring with a microphone in hand. Steve Frehley: Now this is something you don't see... Steve Frehely with a microphone in his hand. That's because I'm not a talker. I'm a doer. I don't feel the need to come out here week after week and talk about kicking ass. I'd rather just do it. That's just how it is. The crowd pops again at Frehley's catch-phrase. Steve Frehley: Now there are a lot of people here in the SWF who likes to run their mouths. They figure that's the way to get noticed around here. And that's okay. I don't have a problem with people running their mouths a bit. But when you run your mouth a lot, you better be able to back it up. When you start proclaiming yourself the "Alpha Dogs" of the SWF, then you better be just that. And let me tell you, when you start trying to back up your claims by sneaking into someone's dressing room and attacking them, you better be ready to face the consequences. Because that's how you piss me off. And Steve Frehley is not a man you want to piss off. Frehley is getting worked up, and the crowd responds. Steve Frehley: So I'm calling you out, Rich Money. Right now. If you are any sort of man, you will walk out here right now and face me. Leave your entourage in the back and come out here like a man. Frehley waits, and there is a moment of silence until Money's music hits. Rich Money Rich Money strolls out, smirking and carrying his SWF North American title belt. He struts, gesturing at the crowd and eliciting some good heat. He comes only partway down the ramp before he addresses Frehley in the ring. Rich Money: Well, I can't just let you stand out here and question my manhood, Steve. That would just be unseemly. Especially since the last time we fought in that ring, I seem to remember pinning you. One, two, three. Steve Frehley: With a lot of help from your little boys club, Money. Rich Money: Justify it to yourself however you need, Steve. I also seem to remember making you bleed in your own locker room not too long ago. Steve Frehley: It took three of you. Rich Money: Again, Steve, feel free to make whatever excuses you have to. If it helps you sleep at night. The fact is that you have never beat me. I still have this title belt. And you never will beat me. What is the little phrase you like to use all the time...? That's just the way it is. Steve Frehley: Why are you still standing there, Money? Are you afraid to come stand here in this ring with me? Afraid of what I might do? Rich Money: There is nothing about you that I'm scared of. Money makes his way into the ring. He stares down the intense Frehley. Rich Money: You can stare at me and breathe heavy all you want, Steve. You may have intimidated your way to the top of this company. But you don't intimidate me. Steve Freley: Intimidated my way to the top? What the hell are you talking about? I earned this. I won the SWF World Heavyweight title at... Rich Money: Yeah, yeah, I know. You won the title at 22 years old. Blah blah blah. I've heard it before, Steve. Its a story that's getting old. Everyone treats you with all this reverence. But when was the last time you did something of note? You lost that title nearly two years ago. You weren't even the youngest SWF heavyweight champion - that honor belongs to Sean McFly. So I just don't comprehend why gives you all this respect. Steve Frehley: Because I earned it, Money. Rich Money: No! Two years ago, you might have deserved it. Now you deserve nothing! That respect should be ours. People should treat the Alpha Dogs of the SWF with reverence and respect, not you. They should treat me like that! Its my respect, dammit! I'm Money! Steve Frehley: You're a big talker. Someone needs to shut you up. Frehley starts across the ring towards Money, but Money starts to bolt the ring. Rich Money: Not tonight, Steve. Not here. But if you want to try to shut me up, you can try when the World is Watching. It will just be another chance for me to take a bit more of that respect that you don't deserve any more. Money has climbed out of the ring and continues to talk as he backs up the ramp. Frehley stays in the ring, seething. Grade: B+
Peter Michaels: Steve Frehley looks like he's ready to explode on someone! Believe me, I know how much you fans love to speculate and debate and rumor-monger. I've heard all the things youv'e had to say about me since I joined Supreme. i've heard all grumblings from the back, too. I'm not deaf and I'm not stupid. A pause as Vibert let's this sink in. Phil Vibert: I personally can't understand it, but apparently some of you have a problem that I brought in Eric Tyler and Chris Caufield. Yes, they are both friends of mine. But more than that, they are both great wrestlers. Hard-working, tough men who come out here every night to entertain you fans. Now I realize that they might not have the same winning personalities as guys like Enforcer Roberts, Runaway Train, or Remo. But they damned sure can wrestle. And you can trust me on this - those two aren't the only changes I'll be bringing about. I have a few things up my sleeve right now. In fact, I have someone that I will be introducing next week. Yes, its someone else that you all will recognize and someone who has worked with me before. But before I bring them in, I wanted to clarify something. Because some people here seem to be a bit blurry on just why I'm here in the SWF. So this is not just for you fans in the know, but the meatheads in the back who clearly aren't... Please listen carefully... Vibert pauses dramatically, the crowd waiting... Phil Vibert: DaVE's not here, man. The crowd pops pretty big for the mention of Vibert's old promotion. Phil Vibert: DaVE is gone. Its dead and buried. Trust me, I have the paperwork to prove it. I love that there are hardcore fans out there who still hold out hope that it isn't true, but it is. Some people seem to have this idea that I'm going to use the creative control in my contract here to somehow resurrect DaVE under the Supreme banner. That is not going to happen. I had to let it go, and you all do too. The reason I was brought into this promotion was to help revitalize it. I know this is a crazy approach, but I kind of thought a good way to revitalize a wrestling promotion would to be bring in great wrestlers... Call me crazy...? Vibert is interrupted by music hitting the sound system. He shakes his head as Eric Eisen strolls out to the top of the ramp, followed by Runaway Train. Eric Eisen + Runaway Train Eric Eisen: You know, Vibert, I've spent my entire life in the wrestling industry. I grew up in Supreme. As you might imagine, I have met my share of arrogant individuals in that time. But the arrogance that it takes for you to presume not just that the Supreme Wrestling Federation requires saving, but that you are the one to do it... That's a whole new level, Vibert. Phil Vibert: This might be hard for you to comprehend, Eric. But I didn't hire myself. I was hired by the Board of Directors to help clean up the mess your father, The Genius Mr. Eisen, created. So clearly someone feels that things could improve around here. Eric Eisen: And you believe you're the one to improve them? Come on, Vibert. Your little social experiment of a wrestling promotion didn't even last a decade, did it? The Supreme Wrestling Federation has been around for more than three decades. My father built an American institution. If you really believe you can improve upon an American institution, then your arrogance really has blinded you. Phil Vibert: There is plenty of blindness here in the SWF, Eric. But trust me, I see things far more clearly than you do. Its called 'perspective', and you clearly lack it. Eric Eisen: You can stand there and spew your anti-SWF hate propaganda all night, Vibert. That doesn't make any of it true. That doesn't make your friends any less useless. Phil Vibert: Hate propaganda? Are you delusion, Eric? At least your brother is just stupid. You're hateful and brain-washed. I'm trying help this promotion. Eric Eisen: Help it? You hate SWF, Vibert. I've seen those words in print. Phil Vibert: Yeah, I've said some negative things about Supreme and your father. And how recently did I say those things? Five years ago? Six? I'm a businessman, Eric. I was brought here to do a job. I have every intention of doing it to the best of my ability. That's called professionalism. And trust me, the Board of Directors offered me a lot of money for my professionalism. Eric Eisen: As if the Board of Directors know anything about wrestling. Phil Vibert: Well, my memory might be a bit fuzzy on the matter. But I'm fairly certain it was your father, The Genius Mr. Eisen, who made the decision to take Supreme public and saddled himself with a bunch of masters to answer to. So who do blame here, Eric? Eisen says nothing, but simply glares at Vibert. Smirking, Vibert starts to climb out of the ring and go back to the announcers booth. Phil Vibert: Oh, and since "my friends" are so useless, I'm sure that you or one of your friends will more than happy to step up next week against my newest friend, right? Thanks for stepping up. Grade: B+
Jerry Eisen: Do you really think I'm stupid, Phil? Phil Vibert: Only when you talk, Jerry. Jerry Eisen: Oh, uh, okay. The Canadian counters and manages to slow the former champion down. Its a momentary reprieve as Frehley begins to overpower Gilmore again. The match is interrupted for a moment as Rich Money and Emma Chase appear at ringside, joining Joe Sexy. Money clearly has Frehley's attention. Gilmore takes advantage of the distraction, slowing Frehley down. Frehley battles back again and nearly gets the pin on Gilmore. Money makes like he is going to get in the ring, distracting Frehley again. When Gilmore attempts to take advantage, Frehley is reading and hits the Canadian with a vicious Dark Destroyer Spear. The bottle slams Rich Money in the face, enraging him and drawing blood. It takes Emma Chase, Angry Gilmore, Joe Sexy, and several officials to keep Money out of the ring. The blatant cheating doesn't do much to put off the combo of Faith and Warrior, who display some great teamwork. McClean slows down Lobster Warrior by working over his knee and isolating him, which Parker continues. When Faith finally gets tagged back in, he clears the ring with a series of elbows to both opponents. The match is interrupted by the appearance of Brandon James, Rich Money, Remo, and Emma Chase at ringside. The action continues however, until Brandon James and Remo get involved with Lobster Warrior on the outside.
Random thought of the day... if you look like a lion, act like a lion, and even smell like a lion but your boss tells you that you are actually an elephant, how are you supposed to consider yourself? And is the rest of the pride still going to respect as a lion or laugh at your big ears and enormous ass? Not that long ago, I got an email directive from Richard Eisen. I get them all the time, but this one was quite memorable for me. It was a "strong recommendation" that I not book myself onto the main show of any pay per view or Supreme TV episodes, and probably not even Generation Supreme episodes. Dark matches only. And I should really be booked to lose those. Great. I'm not only a jobber, I'm a dark match jobber. This guy is living the Supreme dream! The Supreme Supremo has a good point - he is concerned that if I book myself a nice little push, it could foster resentment with the rest of the roster. That's a valid concern. Except that my position itself is already fostering resentment with some of the roster. Its clear to all but the most oblvious workers that I'm not just a regular enhancement talent wrestler. So basically, everyone but Brandon James has realized it. I'm around a bit too much and a bit too involved with everything to just be another guy who happens to be on the Create Committee. No one has addressed it with me yet but it seems to be getting around that I'm behind a lot of the booking. No major issues or incidents over it yet. Most of the roster isn't treating me any different. A couple of guys have been overnice, but that's about the worst of it. The thought that I could end up as a complete outcast due to the role I was given but did not choose is a bit frustrating. All I can do is move forward and hope that everyone is professional about the situation. Which is probably hoping for too much, given some of the personalities that Supreme currently has on its roster. Not that my booking has really given anyone reason to protest just yet. None of the pushes have been unexpected or too heavy - or without approval from Michaels. No one has been buried. I guess the Bumfhole brothers could have cause to resent me at this point, as I did book them to lose the titles to Sexual Aggression. That was a pre-planned title change that everyone backstage knew was going to happen head of time, though. I actually was a bit concerned that the Bumfholes were unhappy with me. A few nights after they lost the titles, I was out for supper with a few other wrestlers and, where Randy and Zimmy were at another table by themselves. They looked over occassionally and I thought they were shooting me dirty looks. But Robbie assured me that it was normal with those two. They never come out with everyone else, never socialize. As I've come to learn, those two are a bit... odd. They are a year apart in age, but seem like they could be twins as they seem to virtually share a personality. Its a complete split, as they each only have about half a personality. They are rarely apart from each other, and they constantly engage in these conspiratorial whispering sessions. On screen, these two come across like modern versions of Frank and Joe Hardy. In reality, they are more like a couple of snotty teenage girls who are too self-absorbed to care about anything but themselves. Of course, they aren't the only personalities in SWF that I find more than a bit disconcerting. Those two are just the oddest couple. There are a few people in this promotion that I find downright unlikeable. A few who I expect to cause trouble for me at some point. I guess I should probably be appreciating the fact that no one is clearly resentful of my role yet at this point. Maybe I should get myself drunk with power and have some fun with it. Actually earn the ostracizion I'm likely to face when the roster actually realizes that its been me doing what they think Peter Michaels has been doing. That's just not my way, though. I guess I'll just go on being an elephant and wishing I was a lion. Wednesday, Week 3, March, 2008 Avatar

I should have the next show posted within a day or two. I was thinking I wouldn't do much with the Generation Supreme shows, since its just a B show. But there's too much storyline and character stuff to fit into just Supreme TV. Might see if I can turn it into an A show in the near future... Might also post the card for the next show or two before posting the show, see if anyone is interested in making predictions. Just to see if I'm being as predictable with the cards as I think I am.
