SWF: Generation Supreme

Recommended Posts
Best Overall Wrestler of the Year Rich Money. Who else comes close? To be honest, Remo's probably second here as I can just imagine him standing behind Money and oozing badass (which sounds like a medical condition - Oozing Badass) in every segment, not to mention he's been in the best match of pretty much every show, and he's been involved in most of the big moments... and when he and Money go at it, it's going to be epic on a scale rarely, if ever, before seen. Not a recognised category, but Pete Hall has been a star and deserves a mention somewhere.
Both Money and Remo just kinda evolved and... happened... I always intended Money to be a key player, but the idea wasn't to turn this isn't "SWF: Generation Money". Which is really what has happened. But I enjoy it, and the readers seem to, so its all good... For a guy who started out basically just being silent muscle, Remo has kinda come into his own as well. And I might start using "Oozing Badass" as his catchphrase, JC. As for Pistol Pete, I agree that he deserves a nod. I could always add a "Veteran Wrestlers of the Year" for wrestlers 40 or over... though Faith might be him out. I supposed I could make the category 47 years and over, just to "narrow" it a bit...
Most people I would nominate have already been nominated. Le sigh.
You can always throw out the ones that haven't been mentioned. Or pick random folks....
I like Sean Deeley, but I figured he was always a guy that would fit TCW better than SWF, like Joshua Taylor. It's Jack Bruce. I think it's believable him being a "Rock Star" and whatnot, that would have an "entourage" if he was heel. It's just a different emphasis on his gimmick, if you ask me. At least he doesn't go "Show Time!" when uses the restroom anymore. :p
Deeley really is better suited to Total's style. At least at the start. But he's fit in very well in Supreme, and it helps that his Entertainment skills are now pretty solid (B- overall). Just based on how easily he gained Overness in the early going of the game, even with losses, I'm pretty sure he's got a pretty good Destiny going for him. Much like Newton (though that could be just as much his Star Quality). Heel Jack Bruce really is the same gimmick, for the most part. As you said, just changing the emphasis. When I first started considering the turn, I was over complicating things a bit and didn't think it could be so simple and yet work pretty effectively. And you would be surprised where and when he will decide its "Show Time!"

You don't wnat to miss this one..." "For fans who are already tired of seeing SWF World Heavyweight champion Rich Money all over the Legends brand, well, you might want to skip the first ten minutes of the show this week. It seems that "Hard Cash" will again be in attendance. You can count me amongst the fans who are eagerly awaiting Christmas Clash so Christian Faith can shut Money up and have him stay on his own brand..." "Speaking of Christian Faith, he is slated to defend his belt tonight. And Threefold Threat match. This time it will Acid and Ray Diaz stepping into the ring against the Supreme Legend. Diaz could be a real threat here, which given the huge match Faith has coming up against Rich Money, makes you wonder just what General Manager Eric Tyler is thinking..." Like I said some of us can dream :)

Dan Stone Jr vs Paul Huntingdon Huntingdon is so privileged he gets a wrestling lesson for free The Samoan Wildboyz vs Jett Stream Time for Jett Stream to actually start doing something ? A win against a perennial mid-card act like the Wildboyz isn't entirely unfathomable. Bart Biggz vs Ota Neither's really done much of late, I'll flip for the more established SWF name on this one. The Watchmen vs Strong Machine I take it Strong Machine are the pairing of the mighty Erik Strong and California Love Machine....a squash it is then Robbie Retro & ??? vs Tex & Rex A chance for the Golden Faction lackeys to actually pick up a win for once ? John Greed vs Big Cat Brandon What's great about the Sky Club Division operating on the Legends brand, is that they're easily available to be fed to some considerably larger in size main eventer. John Pathlow vs Bloodstone for the SWF Legends Championship "The Lords of Pure surprised many fans by winning the SWF Sky Club Division Tag Team Championships last week. Dan Stone Jr vs Paul Huntingdon ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST~! The Samoan Wildboyz vs Jett Stream I expect Jett Stream to be eventually pushed, but the Wildboyz are likely to be taking this anyway. Bart Biggz vs Ota Ota's been pretty directionless since coming in, I see Biggz being on the verge of a career turning point. The Watchmen vs Strong Machine Watchmen haven't really looked quite as strong as I first expected them to, but they still get an easy win here. Robbie Retro & Giant Tana vs Tex & Rex AND ANOTHER ONE FALLS, AND ANOTHER ONE FALLS~! John Greed vs Big Cat Brandon Both of the Upper Class do job duty tonight? The higher life isn't as priviledged as I thought.. :p John Pathlow vs Bloodstone for the SWF Legends Championship Holy crap, he STILL has that belt..don't see him losing it to Pathlow. Ray Diaz vs Acid vs Christian Faith for the SWF Supreme Championship Y'know, Faith has a lot of challengers, but seemingly very few that can actually take the belt from him..I see an immediate feud once Frehley completes his turn.

Dan Stone Jr vs Paul Huntingdon Huntingdon won't put up much of a fight here. The Samoan Wildboyz vs Jett Stream The more established team will win here. Bart Biggz vs Ota Not so here. I get the feeling that Ota hasn't been quite what you wanted him to be when you brought him in. Maybe this will be the beginning of a push to change that. The Watchmen vs Strong Machine Squash Robbie Retro & ??? vs Tex & Rex Tough to call. I like Retro, so I'm picking him! John Greed vs Big Cat Brandon Who could even pick against Big Cat right now? Even if he were facing an actual challenge! John Pathlow vs Bloodstone for the SWF Legends Championship Bloodstone's title reign hasn't been made into as big a deal as it should be, but he'll still win here tonight. Especially against this monkey. Ray Diaz vs Acid vs Christian Faith for the SWF Supreme Championship It just wouldn't be right for Faith to go into the PPV without the belt after all the hype and all the issues the two belts have caused.

First time I feel compelled to do a prediction. Dan Stone Jr vs Paul Huntingdon: I do want to say that I'm bit disappointed in how you used Paul. He fits SWF very well. If I do have a minor complaint, it's your hiring has somewhat forced you pushed guys like Paul aside. The Samoan Wildboyz vs Jett Stream: They are on the up-and-up. Plus, I think think they are better team overall. Bart Biggz vs Ota: I like both, but I feel a bit sorry for Bart Biggz. He practically has (or had) to carry his brother in matches. The Watchmen vs Strong Machine: Squash. Robbie Retro & ??? vs Tex & Rex: Hard to say, but Rex seems like he's moving up, slowly. John Greed vs Big Cat Brandon: It's hard to see how Big Cat can lose. Maybe not an outright squash, though. John Pathlow vs Bloodstone for the SWF Legends Championship: Johnny Bloodstone will win. Period. However, is this a squash match, or a match where Bloodstone finds he actually has a hard time? John Pathlow is a solid technical wrestler, with great Brawling and Puroresu skills. If John Pathlow can't chain or mat wrestle Bloodstone, he can just go "old-school" on Bloodstone, with old-school being kicking and punching the heck out of Bloodstone. Also another note: This feels like eerily like one of those match-ups don't really don't fit the SWF. Not that's a bad thing. A Puroresu guy vs. a Technician in the SWF? Hmm.... Ray Diaz vs Acid vs Christian Faith for the SWF Supreme Championship: The question is who loses. My bet is Acid, unless it's it's one of those weak finishes (DQ, count out, referee stopppage).

Holy hell, predictions from amp? Now I have seen it all! Cool to see... Regarding the Bloodstone-Pathlow match, it very much is a strange match for the SWF... but that is the purpose and hopefully appeal of the Legends brand. More about wrestling and a bit less about the entertainment. The matches tend to be longer... though I booked this show poorly in that regard... I also agree on Huntingdon. I do like the guy, which is why he's still around and getting relatively regular matches. The problem is that he's never really likely to be a star in the SWF. He doesn't have a real hook - he's not great in the ring (and he has improved some) and he's not that entertaining. He's like a solid career midcarder... but even on the starting SWF roster, he's an iffy midcarder. I looked at him as a good candidate for being a tag team specialist, and I'm hoping to get the experience between him and Greed up. The idea is to eventually make them a cornerstone team in the Sky Club Divisoin tag ranks... but it takes time... Main reason for posting is that I'm out of town for the week and won't have much in the way of Internet access. Had a few minutes here and figured I'd make use of it. I do hope to have the Legends show ready to go by Sunday night, but no promises. The upside to the trip is that a four-hour drive gives you plenty of time to think... and I put it to good use. Sorted a lot of things out, I think.

Huntingdon is not the best, but I see in him the next John McClean, or maybe even the next Troy Tornado. Solid Entertainment and Performance skills, with iffy Star Quality. I think, and this is purely conjecture, had you used Paul Huntingdon more actively, he could have risen a bit more in terms of skills. Note to self: If I do a diary, attempt to NOT hire DWN or Steven Parker. Attempt to push Paul Huntingdon.

Finally getting round to doing these.... Best Tag Team of the Year I'll go with Badd Kompany and not just because they are managed by the goddess that is Hannah Potter. They've gone from a bit of joke (two brash guys who failed to live up to their intial hype) to being the best team in the SWF and though you may not have intended it that way from the start it makes for an interesting story arc. Best Promo of the Year I'll go with the Money Golf promo which was hilarious, but I agree with Casey their could have been several other Money promos. Best Feud of the Year Jack Bruce- Rich Money....great promos from both guys and some great matches. This was the feud that first established Rich Money as THE MAN in SWF. Best Stable of the Year Even though it's an official stable as such, Money and his best mate Remo with their little running buddy Ace Newton. Best Match of the Year Money/McFly- This was the match at confirmed Money as THE MAN in the SWF Best Show of the Year The Supreme Challenge - The Build to this was incredible, it felt like you really were building towards SWF's Wrestlemania and the show itself delivered big time. Best Non-Wrestler of the Year Now you might think I'll go for Hannah Potter here, but as beautiful and as delightful as she is...I've got to think with head sometimes and I agree with Casey (yeah again ) on this one by going for Eric Tyler who just edges it from Phil Vibert for me. Tyler has been excellent as the slimy GM of the Legends brand and his personal vendetta with Vibert has been compelling. Best Newcomer of the Year Best Young Wrestler of the Year Ace Newton for both of these categories...he's been the shining light of 'Generation Supreme' throughout the diary. Best Babyface of the Year Christian Faith- Still the biggest babyface in the SWF...still the one man you feel could have the beating of the top heels (Money included) Best Heel of the Year Again I find myself if agreement with Casey. Money's great, he's an excellent heel but I'm sure he'd generate some face heat (minor as it may be) from some of the smarkier fans in the audience. Rocky Golden is an over-rated hoss who believes his own hype..he's just so easy to hate. Biggest Moment of the Year Yeah the Return of the American Tiger- Sean McFly...you made it feel like the big deal it should be. Best Overall Wrestler of the Year Rich Money- As i've said he has become THE MAN in the SWF...he's delivered consistenly on the mic and he's delivered in the ring and he deserves his place at the very top of the SWF.
Huntingdon is not the best, but I see in him the next John McClean, or maybe even the next Troy Tornado. Solid Entertainment and Performance skills, with iffy Star Quality. Note to self: If I do a diary, attempt to NOT hire DWN or Steven Parker. Attempt to push Paul Huntingdon.
The biggest issue I have with Huntingdon are his actual in-ring skills. He's not bad at the start in terms of Entertainment or Performance skills. In my game, he's improved quite a bit. He's at least B in all Performance skills except Psychology (C+). But in terms of the top row, his highest is C- (Brawling, Flashiness and Chain). Christian Faith can get away with that kind of thing due to his very very good Entertainment and Performance areas. Its conceivable that Huntingdon continues to develop to the point where either he has the Performance and Entertainment skills where the top row won't matter so much, or his top row improves enough to be fairly rounded. If that happens, then he very much will be a very solid midcarder to upper midcard regular. But I'm not going to count on either happening, so I figure if he develops great tag experience with another worker (or possibly two), then that bonus adds enough to make him very very valuable to me. Regarding his frequency of matches, he's one of those guys who only appeared on regular TV so often, but he is very much a regular on the B show. He has more than 60 matches through 2008 into December. I never did send him down to RIPW for a stint, which might be something that happens early in 2009 for him. Thanks for the nominations TK... and everyone else... The nominations will remain open until the actual vote post goes up, sometime after the final show in December is posted. Thanks And hope to have the Legends show posted sometime tonight.

Biggest Moment of the Year : Sean McFly Returning, Not just because I share his name :p Best Overall Wrestler of the Year : Gotta agree with TK here, as Rich has the championship, and he's become a huge star with you, that you really have to use to his fullest I'll mull over the other categories for awhile before nominating

In the SWF, I find it that the top row isn't all that important-it still matters, but not by much. In fact, Jack Bruce's Overall Rumble, Technical, and Aerial Skills ar better that than Christian Faith, but Christian Faith can easily pull B+ matches in the beginning (even with bad chemistry sometimes) but the same can't be said of Jack Bruce. He can't really carry anyone.

I'm Duane Fry. With me tonight are Phil Vibert and Melanie Florence. This is... SWF Legends! Phil Vibert: And we once again get to start our show with the champion from the Supreme brand...
Rich Money In-Ring Promo Phil Vibert isn't the only one displeased as the familiar music of the SWF World Heavyweight champion plays. The crowd downs out the music with boos. As usual, Rich Money just seems to enjoy the hatred he receives. Dressed in his usually stylish style, Money carries his title belt. He climbs slowly into the ring, posing for a moment to generate more hatred before he takes the proffered microphone. Rich Money: That's right fans, another money episode of SWF Legends! The Geriatrics brand gets a bit of spice every time I bless it with my presence, and you all know it! But I didn't come out here tonight to remind you all of the obvious. No, I came for some specific reasons. The champion has to pause at this point, as he is drowned by the crowd. It takes them a long moment to quiet down. Rich Money: First off, apparently some fans are under the impression that I come out here on SWF Legends with nothing but negativity. That I hate the Legends brand. This is absolutely false. I've previously stated that I truly appreciate the Geriatrics brand, for helping get all the old men off the Supreme brand. But that is hardly the only aspect I enjoy. I very much like the Sky Club Division. Watching those little flippity floppity guys just cracks me up. I mean, we obviously have high-flying talent on the other brand... but most of them are not child-sized like they are here. Plus, some of the small guys here wear masks... That has to make you wonder... But I honestly do enjoy watching them. I guess its partly research. See, at 295-pounds of very money muscle, I've never really seen myself as a high flying wrestler... But after defeating not only Angry Gilmore but also Troy Tornado in a ladder match at Break like the Wind 2008... I've started to reconsider. Perhaps when I've bored of my run of dominance on the Supreme brand, I'll switch over to this brand and dominate the Sky Club Division for awhile.... The fans react. And they hate. Money just smirks. Rich Money: I must admit, however, that there are some things about this brand that I simply do not understand. See, I get that your General Manager Eric Tyler dislikes Christian Faith as Supreme champion and wants to have that belt on someone he trusts. That makes sense to me. But where it stops making sense is when you consider that Faith is facing me at Christmas Clash... That he is representing the Legends brand on a clash with the biggest name in the business... me. Another pause as the crowd boos. Rich Money: So if Faith and I are both representing our respective brands, would it not make sense for Eric Tyler to be doing what he can to ensure that Christian Faith comes into the pay per view as fresh as possible? Instead, we have Faith defending his belt in a Threefold Threat match tonight. Uh, what? If there is logic for that somewhere, it just isn't money. The crowd doesn't quite boo this time, as there are few fans of Eric Tyler in the crowd, and many fans agree with Money. For once. Rich Money: But enough talking about Christian Faith. I want to talk to Christian Faith. So Faith, get out here... It takes a moment, as the fans wait with baited breath. But then Faith's music hits – he is still using the old school mid-90s cover of “Faith” by Limp Bizkit – and the fans erupt... Then the man himself emerges and the reaction doubles. Christian Faith Faith is wearing street clothes, and is again without his championship belt. He does have a microphone. He stops on the stage, intending to address his nemesis from that spot again. But Rich Money waves him down to the ring. The veteran hesitates, unsure. Money holds his hands up in a gesture of peace, and then goes so far as to hold the ropes open. Faith slowly makes his way down the ramp, and into the ring. The tension in the arena instantly ratchets up several notches. Christian Faith: You ask me down here so you could throw around more insults? Tell more stories? Call me old again? Or did you at least come up with new material? Rich Money: I always have fresh material, oh faithful one. I'm money, remember? But I'm out her for a simple reason... To make you an offer. There is a hanging pause, as if Faith doesn't quite believe what he heard. Christian Faith: An offer... You are going to make me an offer? What could you possible offer me? Rich Money: Motivation. Faith simply laughs. Money takes it without reacting, as if he was expecting it from Faith. Christian Faith: You really think I lack for motivation for our match? You think that the chance to shut you up isn't motivation enough? Rich Money: Apparently not. See, ever since you challenged me and I accepted, everyone has focused on what will be on the line. As if the simple fact that two of the very best in entire world at what they do will be facing off, one just hitting his prime and the other desperately trying to hang on.... battling each other for respect and the pride of their brand. In my opinion, there is nothing more you could ask for. But no, the fans and the management seem focused what is on the line. Or what isn't. They wouldn't let us put the belts up. They said we couldn't make a friendly wager of our own money, as that would be “gambling”, which is apparently “bad”. They wouldn't let us put our careers on the line. I can't understand why that aspect of our match has been such a focus. So late last week, Ace made a comment that brought me to a very money epiphany... There has been such a focus on what our match has on the line because one of us lacks motivation in the match and is trying to find it. It certainly isn't me.... So it has to be you... There is a heavy silence. Christian Faith: I can assure you, Money, that I do not lack for motivation. The chance to shut you up is more than enough motivation. Rich Money: Yeah, you said that already. Its not that I want to call you a liar, Faith... but I guess you could say I lack faith in that being your motivation. Do you truly believe that beating me – though we know it won't happen – would shut me up? No, I believe... I have faith... that there is something more to it. See, When I look at you, Faith, and I see an old man who has done it all in this business. Who has spent more than two decades in the Supreme Wrestling Federation. Who has held this belt of mine here four times. Who has beaten a who's-who of big names. Now you have your own little belt and your own little brand. I see a man fighting the inevitable pull of age... and retirement. You are on your last run and we all know it. Now, when you made the challenge to me, I believe that “shutting up Rich Money” may have been motivation enough a few weeks ago. But now you've had time to think about things. To really consider what will happen in that match. You think back on all the big opponents you've faced through your career – Rip Chord, Bruce the Giant, Sam Keith, Runaway Train, Vengeance... and now you are facing me. You look at what I've done in my last few matches – Angry Gilmore, Troy Tornado, Jack Bruce, Sean McFly... You think about the vicious and possibly even embarrassing beat down that I will lay upon you, all in the name of “shutting me up”. And maybe that initial motivation just isn't enough. Maybe you are reconsidering a bit. That's why I think you're looking for new motivation, a new reason to get in that ring in a week and take the beating that you know is coming. Smirking his trademark money grin, the SWF World Heavyweight champion slowly lowers his microphone. He gives Christian Faith a chance to respond. The SWF Supreme champion lays into Money with a hard stare. He starts to say something, reconsiders, then starts again... Christian Faith: I must admit, I do quite admire how you take a random thought, run with it, and promote it as fact. I don't really care what you believe about my motivation, the reality is that you're in for a world of hurt at Christmas Clash. Its not going to be such a jolly holiday season at the Money house this year. Rich Money: Well now, that's just not polite. Despite that, I am still going to offer you what I came out here to offer you... See, Faith, I have a little something of yours. Something I know you want back. I think you might recall a little night back in March when you lost a little something... Faith clearly knows what he's talking about, as the Supreme Legend is steaming. Rich Money: Let's show the video, just in case these well-aged fans on the Geriatrics brand here don't have such great memories... A video is shown on the Supreme Screen. Its a short, edited version of the invasion of Supreme One headquarters by Big Money Inc back on the 4th week of March on Supreme TV. It shows the trio entering the building and intimidating the security, skips to them trashing the displays, then moves back to a series of slow motion shots of the trio working over the silver statue of Christian Faith with crowbars. It peaks with a series of alternating images of the statue falling over and Remo knocking the head clean off... Then begins to loop the slowed-down shot of Remo knowing the head off the body.... Showing it again and again and again... Faith looks ready to fight. Money grins. Rich Money: See, I do have something you want. Christian Faith: You told me you didn't have it... Six months ago, I asked you and you swore to me that you didn't have it. Money, you liar... Rich Money: Let's not get into name-calling, Faith. When you asked me, I indeed did not have it. I think Brandon had it around then. Or maybe Emma... I know sometime in the spring, Emma tried to sell it on Ebay. Oddly, there were very few bidders for an item listed as "Head from Christian Faith... Statue"... Oh that Emma, always trying to make a buck or two. Remo had it for awhile, and then he passed it on to me. Your head... your statue's head, I mean – has been on my mantle for the past two months. So what do you say? Something you want... on the line... Faith says nothing. He is irate and seems to be showing restraint from lashing out at Rich Money right now. Wearing an even bigger smirk than normal, the SWF World Heavyweight champion climbs out of the ring and slowly makes his way up the ramp, escorted by boos, while Christian Faith's eyes never leave him. It is a pure squash match, as Huntingdon manages almost no offense of note. He never really hurts the veteran in any manner. Yet the match is far from boring, simply for the diverse attack that Stone offers up. The skills of Stone alone make this match interesting. It could be over quicker, but is thorough in his dismantling of his opponent The crowd pops pretty big for a series of Stone Backbreakers. The match ends with a Stone Ankle Stretch.. It has Eric Tyler sitting in an office, behind a large desk. There is a large SWF logo on the front of the desk, the scene has a bit of a “presidential address” feel. Except for the company that Tyler has His trio of Watchmen in are in their usually positions behind him, though seated. Since the office isn't particularly big, the three are pressed close together in a rather amusing manner The General Manager begins by saying that he's not too pleased at all by having been bumped once again from having his segment open the show as it should. He has a couple of things to announce tonight. The first is another cross-brand match for SWF Christmas Clash 2008. No Supreme Wrestling Federation pay per view is complete without a match for The Dark Destroyer Steve Frehley. The former SWF World Heavyweight champion will face a traitor to the Legends brand... Troy Tornado... Tyler fully expects Frehley to make the brand proud by destroying his opponent... A perfect Christmas present for the General Manager. He also encourages Frehley to think about what they talked about. The General Manager has something else he wants to address. Something which has been annoying him for awhile now. It is the fact that Phil Vibert seems to have such a hard time putting the name to the promotion that he built... and then killed. It was called Danger and Violence Extreme, Tyler says slowly. DaVE. It seems to be that Vibert can't get past the reality that the promotion he built, he also ran into the ground. Which explains why he is so determined to recreate DaVE here in the Supreme Wresting Federation. But Tyler has seen Vibert's intent from the beginning, and he is going to continue to do everything in his significant power to prevent the Legends brand from being corrupted. Tyler stops for a moment, musing. He says that DaVE did have some things right, he has to admit that. There world of DaVE was very much a dog-eat-dog world. It was survival of the fittest, the way that professional wrestling should be. You had to earn your keep, and it meant battling to do so. Only the strongest thrived in the legendary backstage chaos was part of that – it weeded out the weak. It made sure that only the strongest made their way to the top, and it took a constant fight to stay there. Which explains why Tyler was able to stay on top for so long. Because no one is stronger than The Tradition. This approach is something that the SWF could certainly use, as far too many wrestlers here are pampered and soft – few of them have any real steel in them. That is why the General Manager has no issue with these “backstage shenanigans” that bother Vibert so much – it is simply the strong establishing dominance. Pausing to allow this to sink in, the General Manager then adds another cross-brand match at Christmas Clash will be Christ Morrisette facing Marc DuBois. Tyler doesn't even bother hyping the match. Grade: A
Peter Michaels: Two more big matches for the pay per view! Phil Vibert: What Tyler and Frehley talked about? That can't be a good thing.... Its clear that the team has turned a corner of sorts, as they come out to new entrance music - “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins. The crowd aren't particularly interested, but its a solid match as the two teams put on a good aerial display, if a touch spotty. The less experienced face duo make up for it with daring. The end happens quickly, as Kid Toma goes for a Suicide Headbutt on Jett, only to have “Kid Liquid” shove Akima Brave in front, forcing Toma's tag team partner to take the brunt of the blow. As Toma gets up, worried, Hernandez rolls him up into a fast pin and ref counts it out. Akima looks quite upset afterward, as the Jett Stream duo celebrate with manager Katie Cameron. The risk-taking style that Bart Biggz has shown of late, to match his new look, makes the fans happy as he throws himself about the ring with reckless abandon. Ota puts up a good fight, but Biggz wins the match after his Biggz Up famedropper. Biggz stalks back and forth for a long moment before he finally grabs a microphone. The former tag team specialist cuts a short, concise promo. He says that since his brother had to take some time off to deal with personal issues, Bart has given up the hope of winning the SWF Sky Club Division tag team titles... for the moment. But he is determined to claim the Shooting Star belt. He will have his chance against Acid at Christmas Clash. Biggz warns the champion that his time is coming... Grade: A
Peter Michaels: Another match for the pay per view... Are you behind that one, Phil? It is basically a chance for Tyler's Watchmen to show off, as the young lightweight pairing of Erik Strong and CL Machine don't offer a great deal in the match. The only thing that keeps this from being a much quicker finish is that Holmes and Morgan are still developing their teamwork and don't effectively keep Strong and Machine from being able to tag each other in. Morgan gets the win in a pretty easy match. Once we get you whipped into shape, you can get those belts back! Elmo and Groucho look at each other for a moment, dubious looks upon their faces. While the small are not heavily muscle-bound like many SWF stars, they are obviously in very good physical condition. They look back at the lovely Miss Missy. They look much more convinced when they glance back at each other again. Groucho pulls up T-shirt to reveal a taunt stomach. He slowly pushes it out, making a “pregnant belly”. Its obviously an strange pairing, even though Flash dons a pair of sunglasses to try to be “cool”. The team, dubbed The Throwbacks, does work on certain levels – Robbie wishes it was still the 70s and Flash remembers the 70s. Its a decent enough match, though hardly memorable. Neither team possesses the kind of quick teamwork that stands out. The lumbering Golden Faction duo deliver a pretty good beatdown to Flash before he finally brings Retro in with the hot tag. But all Robbie's dancing and prancing doesn't change the fact that Rex is a monster, proving it with a couple of big blows that put the throwback to his knees. The huge man shows off his power by tossing all 295-pounds of Retro around with ease. Retro thrills the crowd by battling back against the monster, but that ends after some double-teaming from Texas Pete. Robbie does manage to tag Flash back in, but the middleweight fares little better. He ends up getting pinned after Pete nails him with a Lone Star Drop. Its not over that quickly, mainly because Greed takes an interesting approach. The smaller wrestler attacks off the bell, but accomplishes nothing with his quick offense. Big Cat just shakes it off. So Greed changes up his approach, and spends the next five minutes basically avoiding the Big Cat, hoping to tire the big man out. That doesn't quite work, as he would have to make Brandon chase for a long time. Big Cat just patiently stalks his opponent, very much living up to his name. When he catches Greed trying to go up to the top turnbuckle, he makes him pay – a huge power bomb is followed up by a few other power moves, before the crowd pops for the Big Cat Pounce. And then its over. Ana Garcia has the big cowboy Pistol Pete Hall on the backstage interview set. She says that she has just one question for him – is he joining the Alliance? The big hoss says that he's spent near to thirty years in this great business now. He's been lucky enough to teach a fair few things, and learned a whole lot more. One thing he learned that he never forgot is the difference between wrong and right. In this fight, it isn't hard to tell the difference. However, another lesson he learned that never left him was knowing when to pick your fights. And when you get right down to it, this isn't his fight. This thing between Vibert and Tyler, its about the future of the brand. While that's all well and good, a man of Pete's age can't be worried so much about the future. He has to be worried about the present. When you're an old hoss, the future is now. So no, Pistol Pete will not be joining the Alliance. He respects the men involved and he respects what they are doing. When they need help, they can count on him. But Pistol Pete needs to worry about Pistol Pete for right now. And he's eying another shot at Bloodstone and his SWF Legends belt... if he still has it after the pay per view. With a tip of his hat, Pistol Pete leaves Ana to send it back to the arena. Grade: A
Phil Vibert: I would very much appreciate it if everyone would stop calling it “Vibert's Alliance”. I am not running the show. Credit Faith or Caufield or whoever. But its not me behind those men. Duane Fry: Right.... The tag champion takes the fight to Bloodstone right off the start, surprising Bloodstone with a series of shots. The match quickly turns into a great mat wrestling battle, a very good display. The fans are behind Pathlow, but they don't quite seem to buy him as a real challenger. In the ring, he looks like one, as he basically goes move-for-move with the champion. Bloodstone carries a little bit of an edge over the smaller red-haired challenger, and late in the match, as he tries to slap on his Bloodstone Mutilation finisher twice, Pathlow both times finds a way to escape before the champion can lock it in. Pathlow just misses with his Hell Fire Kick, allowing Bloodstone to counter with a lifting side slam that puts Pathlow hard to the mat. Bloodstone grabs some tights as he rolls the challenger into the pin and gets the three count. They come down to the ring, Frehley in street clothes but Diaz in his ring gear for his main event match. Frehley grabs the microphone. Frehley says that the Dark Destroyer still doesn't like talking much. But some things need to be said. That's just the way it is. Emma Chase had it right, he says. He allowed others to influence him and alter his approach. No more. Frehley started to care about what others thought, and that affected what he did in the ring. No more. He stopped being the true Dark Destroyer and become something.... less... No more. Troy Tornado is the unlucky soul who gets to feel the full brunt of what the Supreme Wrestling Federation hasn't seen completely unleashed since 2006. Only a few seem to realize what is about to be unleashed on the SWF... Emma Chase... Sara Silver... Eric Tyler... But everyone else will soon learn. This announcement generates a – you guessed it – mixed reaction. Frehley then says he has more to say... but not tonight. Tonight is about Ray Diaz and how he is about to destroy Christian Faith. Grade: A*
Daune Fry: You know, its not often I agree with Rich Money. But I do have to wonder at Eric Tyler's logic in booking a match like this for Christian Faith, just a week before the pay per view. Phil Vibert: You are assuming that Eric Tyler uses logic. An entertaining match, no doubt, but no one in attendance really believes that Faith could lose the belt here. The match is about Diaz and Faith dishing out a beating, and both Acid and Faith taking one. The SWF Supreme champion takes some big shots, but he's overcome far worse through is long, long career. The only near-pin in the match is Acid grabbing a quick roll up on Faith, but the champion kicks out. There is a big sequence in the later going where Faith and Diaz stand in the middle of the ring and trade shot for shot. The crowd pops big for it. It ends with Faith delivering a sequence of Machine Gun Faith Hammers and dropping Diaz to the mat. Acid then delivers his Acid Rain Bomb Swandive Senton Bomb to Diaz. A short time later, Diaz is back up and he chases the masked Shooting Star champion out of the ring. Outside the ring, Acid delivers a drop toe hold that sends Diaz hard into the ring steps, taking him out of the last few moments of the match. Back inside, Faith catches Acid as he tries a springboard flying cross body block, slamming the masked wrestler hard to the mat. A Stalling Atomic Drop is followed by a Leap of Faith, and Acid gets pinned. Suddenly, the Supreme Screen fires up, and Rich Money's smirking face is staring out at the crowd. The cheers for Faith turn to jeers for Money. The SWF World Heavyweight champion says that he didn't appreciate Faith not believing him. So to make him have faith, he has a little something to show him. The camera pans back a bit, and Hard Cash is holding up a canvas sack. He slowly reaches in and withdraws the weighty item it holds... and he holds it up. Behold! The severed head of Christian Faith's statue! The silver likeness is pitted and scarred, with a long gash across one cheek, but it is very clearly the SWF Supreme Champion. The crowd boos as Money holds the head up to the camera. Faith keeps silent, brooding. Money then says that he's quite sure that the head has had more fun in the past nine months than Faith himself has. And as proof... A series of pictures are shown slide-show style on the Supreme Screen. The head sitting on a fancy mantelpiece. The head on a female mannequin body wearing a pretty blue dress. The head with a chair of its own at a dinner part with Rich Money, Remo, and some high class looking friends. The head between a pair of Jack-o-Lanterns on a front step at Halloween. And finally, the head wearing a Santa beard and a hat, sitting underneath a Christmas tree. You want your head back, Money says, then beat me. Its so very simple, Faith. That's it. The show ends on Rich Money laughing while Christian Faith stares up at the image with something approaching hatred in his eyes.
Another good show. Cool return of the head. Anyway, My fav had to be the Pathlow/Bloodstone match. And look! A 100% correct prediction on my first try. :p
I'd say 100% is a fantastic accomplishment... but with this diary, its not as tough as many diaries would be. At least, not when it comes to predicting the TV shows. Still, good work. I was actually a touch disappointed in the Bloodstone-Pathlow grade. I can't claim I would have given it a monster write-up if it pulled a B+ or A grade, though I might have been more motivated to at least try. Its definitely a match I'd like to run again once Pathlow builds up his popularity a bit more. The head came back in large part due to Zeel1's urging. Though I doubt his determination to see me turn Tana into a main event star is going to happen. As I said when Zeel first mentioned it, the head was meant to be a prop for continual running gags through the diary. Then it just kind of got abandoned. At least it will have some closure here... maybe. The show where it originated can be found here and it one of the segments that has been nominated for Promo/Angle of the Year for Gen-S.

Thanks for that, BP42! (Good name for a band..or stable..)
Bart Biggz vs Ota I get the feeling that Ota hasn't been quite what you wanted him to be when you brought him in. Maybe this will be the beginning of a push to change that.
Clearly if I had known you had a new alt for Biggz, I would've chosen him to win!!!
Clearly if I had known you had a new alt for Biggz, I would've chosen him to win!!!
I thought I had used that alt for Biggz before...? Maybe not. As for your prediction comments on Ota, yes and no. The ninja has fallen victim to the same problem as much of the Sky Club Division, outside of Acid - lack of popularity. Which means meh grades, which means lack of visibility and storylines. Which is obviously the backward way to look at it. Over the past while in the game, the Sky Club Division got ignored much more than it should have. It's my intent go back to having more stuff for them outside of the ring.
Well...show's I've been paying attention! lol I'm going to blame my lack of attention to detail on the fact that I was rushing to catch up with the diary. Yes...that's the ticket!
I wouldn't be worried about finding something to blame. Fact is that I wasn't even certain. I don't expect all my readers to remember every detail. Hell, I'm just happy to have them reading and paying attention. Anything beyond that is just a bonus...

Well, as I indicated before, I had thought about doing something with the head a few times. But after so much time went by, I Just figured that readers would have forgtten and reacted with a "what the hell is this about Christian Faith's head?" No one's complaining thus far, so I'm guessing it works... And thanks for the help, unintententional or not, on bring that back. _________________ Time for a mini "State of the Diary" type deal. Sorta. So I had about 8 hours of solo driving this past weekend (family needs to move closer!!!) and I put the time to good use. Basically, endless KMs of boring prairie driving to mull over my version of the Supreme Wrestling Federation. I made a few decisions regarding some key storylines (taking a risk or two, which hopefully pan out), and laid things out nicely for the early part of 2009. I've always known where I wanted the storylines to go and had basic plans in place, but I didn't lay things out in as much detail (segment by segment) like I usually would much past the end of the game year. I think I always had this idea that I would be lucky to make it to the end of 2008 in the diary and that would be it. But things are going well - I think, anyway - and I really have no intention of slowing down. I also ended up putting some thought into another area - the pay per views in the diary. Getting an A* grade is almost an expectation of mine for a PPV at this point, which is a bit of the problem (weird as that seems). The other part is that as I'm making final plans for the Christmas Clash show, I find myself struggling with what always becomes an issue on every PPV now - fitting everything in. Even with 4 hours PPVs, I end up dropping out matches that I would like to include. I'm lucky if they aren't ones that I've building towards with a storyline. I guess I could scale back to 10-minute matches for the most part and jam 16 matches on the show, but I really don't like that idea. But with so much talent right now and two brands on the PPVs, it makes a fine mess. After some thought, I've come up with a few possible solutions... And the solution of reducing the talent on the roster considerably isn't likely to happen, so.... Leave Well Enough Alone So some top guys miss a PPV here and there. It happens in reality. And yeah, 4 hours for every PPV is a lot, but if the quality is there, the fans would be happy... Add an Entire Second Set of 12 PPVs and Split Them by Brand Hahaha, no. Split PPVs by Brand A full split by brand, with each brand getting 6 PPVs. No cross-brand matches, then, I guess. Not really a great plan, to me. Split PPVs by Brand with Shared Shows This is the most apppealing idea. Could be done as a 2-5-5 split, with only 2 shared shows. Or more likely a 4-4-4 split. Have maybe Hell Freezes Over (Jan), Times of Trouble (June), Supreme Challenge (July), and Christmas Clash (Dec) being split. The rest would alternate between brands. The cool thing is that for much of the year, each brand would have two months to build up to a PPV. The brand-specific PPVs could go down to 3 hours each and some of the midcard and upper midcard guys would get on PPVs regularly again. Not every PPV match is going to be enticing, exciting match up... which could be good or bad, depending on your perspective. It also makes those random cross-brand "dream" matches much less frequent. Again, not necessarily a good thing. So why am I throwing these out there? For thoughts, suggestions, comments, whatever. If I do decide to enact a change, it would have an affect you lot, the readers, so I figured I'd at least let you have a say in the matter.
