A Jumper's Tale (Part 2 - CVerse)

Recommended Posts

You know, you learn something or two about how to take a beating when your career revolves around it. You don't know it, I'm not just a pro wrestler. I've spent some time in the world of MMA, I wasn't anything spectacular, but I knew how to take beatings. That kind of led to my career in wrestling, I got beat up too much and wanted to actually know the feeling of being on top. So these thugs beating me up isn't anything I can't handle. You just have to phase out. I just hope they don't tear my pants. I don't have the money for a new pair... Shirts are easy though, I do have direct control over merchandise. I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with the Zone. Though, that phone call... something could happen with Mexico. “Alex.” Woah, this is... different. I'm not in my office anymore. No sign of the thugs. Where did they take me? “Alex!” Wait a second, I know who that is. That's George DeColt! What the hell does he have to do with this? Did the money come from him? Woah, he's coming right at me. “Alex! Are you paying attention to me?” Did he just call me Alex? “I don't feel well. Can I be excused?” “Yeah, hurry back. We need to talk about setting up for Elimination.” I walked around the house until I found the bathroom, entered, and shut the door. I splashed some water on my face and looked in the mirror, surprised at what I saw looking back at me. Alex DeColt. The second of the DeColt siblings and the one in charge of booking CGC. I wiped my face with a hand towel and instinctively checked my pocket. There was a piece of paper.
“Welcome to your new life... as Alex DeColt. We'll be in touch.”
Oh boy. It wasn't a dream. And it's starting again. -- For those of you just joining us, part 1 is here and chronicles the story of William Peers in CZCW. I did it because infinitywpi is my hero. Now with that chapter done, here is chapter 2.

“Good Alex, you're back. Are you feeling alright?” “Yeah, I just felt weird there for a second.” “Alright, so what are your plans for Elimination?” Plans for Elimination? I don't even know what the state of the union is right now! I need to get out of here... and fast. “I'm sorry, I know I should have more for you right now, but I think I need to lie down. I really don't feel well.” “No, you're not getting out of this booking meeting. I want some answers and I want them now.” George you should have let me go. I really DON'T feel well. WHARF! “Ah, Jesus, Al. Alright, let's get you to your room.” Thankfully George is escorting me, I don't know where the hell I'm going. And I need to get some sleep. “I'll send your mother up with dinner later. Rest up, I'm going to expect some work out of you tomorrow.” I suppose I should get some work done, but... this bed is comfortable....

So what do I have to work with here? Main Event: Jack DeColt Arguably the best of the DeColt brothers. Jack has a natural talent for connecting with a crowd. He's a top player, being World Champion 4 times and Tag Champion 5 times. Steve DeColt The oldest and most talented DeColt brother. Steve has what it takes to make it anywhere. The thing is he often takes a back seat to Jack. Case in point, he's held the World belt 3 times and the Tag belt 4 times, usually with Jack. Ricky DeColt The youngest and greenest of the brothers. He's got all the potential in the world, but his consistency is a bit suspect. Either the real Alex saw something big in him or George wanted the young one to get a hold of the strap. He's held the Canadian Title twice and is the current holder of the World Title. Dan DaLay Not a great performer by any stretch of the imagination, but he's where he's at thanks to his friendship with the real Alex. He can get by in a pinch and with the help of Adrian Garcia and the Elite should have no problem staying over. He's held the tri-fecta of titles in CGC. Eddie Chandler An over the top heel and solid wrestler. Eddie has what is needed to be in the top in a promotion like this. His partnership with the Elite will help serve his goals. He's also held the tri-fecta of titles, with the Tag Titles three times. Eric Tyler One of the most respected guys in the business, it was good for business to bring Tyler in after DaVE went out of business. He should fit in nicely in the top, at least until it's time to hang up his boots. He held the World Title twice over ten years ago. Ed Monton Ed is tough and he knows what he's doing. He's not a spectacular worker by any means, but he has the ability to look good out there. He's a former three time World Champion, two time Tag Champion, and one time Canadian Champion. At 46, I expect his retirement soon. Ryan Powell Ryan is the future of CGC, along with Ricky DeColt and some guys from the midcard. He's a solid wrestler and knows how to rile up the crowd. He's making some big money under a written contract right now and should get plenty of face time. Whippy the Clown Whippy is on the borderline to success right now. He's been saddled with the silly gimmick, but has just enough charisma to make it work. A hot feud should propel him to the top and teach him at the same time. Alex DeColt... me The brother with the most to gain and lose. George DeColt has made it no secret that Alex is being groomed to take the company over someday. The least talented in ring of the four, Alex has made his career on passionate promos and wild brawls. He's held the World Title 3 times and the Tag strap twice. I've been brought here for some reason, but I don't know what. Midcard: Bobby Thomas The only thing Bobby needs to do is learn to show charisma and cut a promo and he'll be on top of Canada Sports Entertainment. Along with his partner Nate Johnson, he's become a very hot commodity. One half of the five time Tag Team Champions. Nate Johnson Like his partner Bobby, he has all the talent in the world, it will just take some proper coaxing for him to become a star. One half of the five time Tag Team Champions. Destiny Destiny replaced Chance in the Soldiers of Fortune and the duo hasn't lost a step. He's a solid midcard wrestler and won't likely go anywhere anytime soon. Fate Fate was carried in his CGC run by his old partner Chance. Once Chance retired, it was a mad scramble to find a replacement. While Destiny hasn't disappointed, Fate has had to work much harder to stay over. Lee Rivera Lee's a flashy, entertaining wrestler and along with his partner Shane will see a lot of time on CGC TV. As long as he continues to improve, he could be a future World Champion. Shane Nelson It's just a matter of time before Youth Energy is given their time to shine. Shane is Mr. Consistency and will never be unneeded. Shooter Deeley Shooter isn't only the future of CGC, but of wrestling in general. With the help of the Elite, Shooter will make a major name for himself. He's already a former Canadian Champion and is looking to get the belt again. Trent Shaffer Trent is finally getting his long deserved push. The kid can go in the ring and has charisma to spare. That's why they called his number in August 2007 and gave him the Canadian Title. He has plenty of guys to feud with too. Nathan Black Nathan is nothing spectacular for CGC. He has wrestling skills, but without a personality, he won't see a lot of time on TV. If he improves, he could find a larger role though. My plan? Team him up with the next man... Philippe LaGrenier A French-Canadian, eh? Well, Philippe doesn't have much going for him other than his charisma. He'll have a lot of improving to do if he wants to stay with the DeColts. And if his team with Nathan Black, Different Strokes, can do some improving, he can stay. The Bronzed God Zeus Maxmillion has really found the gimmick that will make him a star. Much like Kashmir Singh, going over the top has really started to get Zeus noticed. He only needs time to be showcased and he'll get over. Jobbers: Grimm Quibble Quibble's nothing more than a jobber. He's not that talented and unless he sits under the learning tree, i don't expect him to amount to much. Christian Price Christian has some impressive brawler skills and should be able to crawl out of jobberdom someday. Jesse Gilbert Jesse hasn't done much in his career except spend some time in the Coastal Zone and inexplicably win the Tag belts twice with his brother there. He won't have that luck here. Joe Gilbert See Jesse Gilbert. The Rest: Adrian Garcia This man is the reason the Elite have been able to get so over through their multiple configurations over the years. He has a natural aura of heeldom that the fans hate. You'll see plenty of him. Chance He's a helping hand backstage taking role of the Road Agent. If Chance can't keep the boys in line, no one can. Coach Norman The rookie referee, Coach Norman. He doesn't have the skill of Francis Long, but he'll have to replace him someday and needs to get some experience under his belt. Farrah Hesketh Farrah can do anything and here she's the color woman for Jerome Turner. She knows her stuff and often makes him sound dumb, which makes a lot of the boys laugh. Francis Long Francis is a very good referee and should become great in the next couple years. In case someone else comes knocking, he'll be helping Coach Norman grow. George DeColt My “father” and the man who created CGC as a playground for his sons. George has a great mind as was once a great wrestler. He's the on screen authority figure, but may get shuffled to the commentary desk if Farrah doesn't keep me totally happy. Hotstuff Marie Jack's future wife. She doesn't do a whole lot, except look really good, but she is an effective prop for storyline purposes. Jenny Playmate Jenny is the reason that Youth Energy have been able to catch on with the non-workrate fans. She cuts a mean promo and looks damn good. Jerome Turner Jerry has been the voice of CGC for some time now and is getting slowly better. Working with Farrah has been helping him not make such an ass of himself. Roger Rogers Big Rog uses his wheelchair to gain either big sympathy heat or manipulative cripple heel heat. A knock comes from my door before it opens. It's George. “Alright Al, you've had some time to rest. Have you used any of it to think?” “Yes, yes I have. I have some good plans coming ahead.” “Good. I have some guidelines for you for the new year. Important stuff. I want you to make sure that Jack and Steve stay the biggest threats in the company. Make sure they are at the top of the card, keep their momentum, and popularity. I'm not going to take big chances unless I have to.” “That's fine, it fits in with my plans.” “You're going to need to hire another worker or two. But when you do, make sure they can work. We're not going to hire guys that don't know what they're doing in the ring. Ok?” “Of course.” “We have guys on written contracts and are getting paid whether they work or not. Make sure they have to work for their pay check. Side note, since we're going to stay in a more traditional vein, stay away from the MMA style guys. They don't fit in here.” “Anything else?” “Yeah, the most important goal. Keep up with the Joneses. I want this promotion to be prestigious and important. Make sure to keep it that way.” “You got it... Dad.” That was weird. Calling a true legend "Dad". This family thing is going to take some getting used to... At least Peers was a lonely, lonely man with no one to love him. “Alright. Now that we've got that out of the way, let's talk about plans.” “Well, first off, some new signings...” -- Ace Braun Coming to the end of his career, we have a tremendous respect for Alex Braun. Seeing the lack of faces on the roster, it's felt that his hand could be a big help in the midcard. Especially since he'll be part of a veteran tag team. Steve Flash With everyone's favorite Canadian, Steve Flash. Together, these guys should see one last glory run. They are both more than capable in the ring and in the end should be able to teach the young guys a lot about the wrestling business. Cal Sanders Cal has been around the Canadian scene for quite some time, but he never has gotten the recognition he deserves. Hopefully we'll be able to get him some TV time and maybe a jolt of popularity. The main plan will be to team him with Christian Price.

What happened to me, you may ask? Fallout 3. I'm not out of the addiction woods yet, but I want to play TEW again, so here I am. -- Sunday, Week 1, January 2008. CGC Title Bout Wrestling Moose Jaw Centre (The Prairies, Canada) Dark Match: Ed Monton and Whippy the Clown def. Soldiers of Fortune in 5. (D-) Dark Match: Old School def. The Gilbert Brothers in 6. (E+)
Match 1: Different Strokes vs. Youth Energy The first teaming of Nathan Black and Philippe LaGrenier isn't a complete disaster. They put together a bit of entertaining tag formula together before getting overwhelmed by the fluidity of Youth Energy. (D-)
The young prima donna, Trent Shaffer makes his way to the ring. He's clad in an expensive looking silk shirt and dark sunglasses. The fans quickly despise the smugness coming from the Canadian Champion as he steps into the ring. Shaffer: “It seems as if all you Moose Jaw Mooks don't know how to give the respect a man of my caliber deserves.” He pauses, allowing the crowd to boo him. Shaffer: “Well, if you can't be polite, then I'm not going to give you the pleasure of seeing me in that ring, beating someone from turnbuckle to turnbuckle to defend this title.” The fans cheer that, thinking they'll be rid of him now. Shaffer: “I won't defend my title here tonight, but I'm setting out an open challenge for next week. I'll be waiting in the ring to start the show and will expect someone of a high standard to confront me in the ring. I don't defend this title against any Tom, Dick, or Harry. Only someone of an outstanding pedigree need apply. I'll be waiting, next week.” (C-)
Match 2: Eric Tyler vs. Cal Sanders This is a quick clinic on how to pick apart an opponent without much trouble. Eric Tyler focuses on the knee of Sanders immediately and builds up to the Tradition Lift for the win. (D+)
Tyler, breaking only a slight sweat, grabs a microphone. The CGC World Championship. It never should have left my grasp in the first place, and once I get it back, the only way I'll relinquish it is when someone pries it from my cold, dead hands. Ricky DeColt, you're on notice. That belt will be mine.” (C)
Match 3: Ryan Powell vs. Alex DeColt Simple, but very entertaining match here. We're not going to leave this company, we're going to take it over. George, you've filled the world with propaganda against us and your sons have especially taken to your brain washing. It's just a matter of time until the Elite finally destroy the DeColts once and for all.” (C)
Main Event: Dan DaLay, Eddie Chandler, and Shooter Deeley vs. Jack, Ricky, and Steve DeColt While not quite up to the quality of the semi-main event match, this was no disappointment. (C+)
The three DeColts celebrate their victory, but not for long, as they are blind-sided by the entire Elite stable. The Specialists join Eddie, Dan, and Shooter in dismantling the DeColts. We've procured a new wrestler for the CGC roster. Thomas Morgan Much like Cal Sanders, Thomas Morgan has been around the Canadian scene for quite some time. He's very talented and should have reached something in his career, however he's been overlooked since day one. I'm not promising he won't be overlooked here, but he should be a solid face in the midcard. -- Sunday, Week 2, January 2008. We have Dan DaLay, Ryan Powell, and Shooter Deeley in the ring tonight.” Steve: “What's your point?” Ricky: “I guess I don't have one. Let's go kick their asses.” (B-)
Main Event: Dan DaLay, Ryan Powell, and Shooter Deeley vs. Alex, Ricky, and Steve DeColt This match consisted of the DeColt boys running through their opponents for several minutes, but every attempt at a pinfall getting broken up. The green is a bit bright, but is the sienna ok with Adrian Garcia? I'll keep it in mind for future posts. (Like this one!) And thanks for reading! -- The locker room in CGC has been described as a fairly good place in professional wrestling, mainly because of the DeColt brothers, but this is professional wrestling, and from time to time people act up. This is one of those times. You wouldn't guess it from his on screen persona, but Dan DaLay is a really nice guy. He was the real Alex's best friend, which I guess is the reason he came to get me. “Hey Al?” “What's up Dan?” “Bobby's causing some trouble. You might want to talk to him about it.” I made my way to the locker room to find Francis Long with a red face to match a large red stain on his ref shirt. “Bobby... what the hell?” “It was a prank. A trick pen is all. It's really Francis' fault. Who wants an autograph from a referee?” “Not cool, Bob. Pranks are fine until they ruin something. You just ruined a CGC referee shirt. Now we have to get him a new one. Do me a favor and lay off.” “Sorry Al, I'll try not to let it happen again.” “Thank you. It's all I ask.” Well, at least it was mostly harmless. I doubt Francis could do anything about it. I suppose I should keep better tabs on the locker room though. The real problem is that Elimination is now being thrust upon me. I flaked out and thought I had another show between now and then, but I don't. So we're going into a Pay-Per-View with no build up. This is not going to be a pretty sight...

(E, don't click) The PPV starts off with Jack and Steve in their locker room. Jack: “Well, it looks like you didn't get exactly what you wanted Steve. No Tag Title match for you tonight, but you do get a shot at the piece of crap who cost you the match on Sunday.” Steve: “Oh Jack, I will make Eddie pay for costing me a match. It's not something I take lightly. But it's not just about me. You got screwed out of the Canadian Title on Sunday, yourself.” Jack: “That's right, and I guess that's why Dad made this match for us. You and I get to tag together again and reign Hell down on Eddie Chandler and Trent Shaffer.” Steve: “They'll learn their lesson tonight. Don't mess with a DeColt.” (C)
vs. Match 1: Ryan Powell vs. Steve Flash The fast paced opener that had been booked didn't quite turn out as planned. Ryan and Steve don't quite have the chemistry in there together. At least it was the opener. The end comes with Ryan getting a cheap shot with an international object on an in control Steve Flash for a quick pin. (D)
We cut to the back, where Lee Rivera and Shane Nelson are with Jenny Playmate, their manager. Youth Energy are dressed up like the Specialists and Jenny Playmate stands in front of them. Lee and Shane are carrying little foam replica belts over their shoulders. Jenny: “It was a very difficult decision to sign the contract pitting my Specialists against the most spectacular team of Youth Energy.” Shane drops the goofy look on his face and nods. Jenny: “We're very likely going to lose the Tag Titles tonight, but it's been one hell of a run. You see, we and the Elite talk a big game, but we are hardly able to back it up without cheating. That's why you'll never see me far from my men. Without me, they'd be working for some midget!” Lee looks worried. Jenny: “Don't you worry. As long as I'm by your side, you'll never lose those belts. I won't allow it!” The three walk out of the shot in an all business manner, but Shane trips over some cords right as they do. (D+) We cut over to Adrian Garcia and the Specialists. They look none too happy and Nate and Bobby make sure to show the real belts off proudly. Garcia: “Oh, you three are REALLY funny. Everyone wants to imitate greatness, but it takes the real deal to hold onto these belts. My men won these belts fair and square. They defend them in an honorable manner. But tonight, they aren't just going to rest with a simple victory... They're going to rip you limb from limb. Choose your enemies wisely. You don't want to make a poor choice.” (D)
vs. Match 2: The Specialists © vs. Youth Energy (CGC Tag Team Championship) These four have a tendency to put on a good match whenever they get into the ring together. This time both managers found themselves getting involved. Adrian would give the Specialists an unfair advantage that would quickly be evened up by Jenny. In the end, it was up to the wrestlers to decide the victor and the Specialists made good on their promo, defeating Youth Energy and retaining the belts. (D+)
Eric Tyler makes his way to the ring once again. Tyler: “I've been told that I need to prove myself before I'm going to be given a shot at the World Title. I've defeated everyone that's been put before me and I'm going to continue that tonight. I'm not going to be facing any man... I'm going to be facing a... clown. I hate clowns.” (C-)
vs. Match 3: Eric Tyler vs. Whippy the Clown At least Eric has a good reason to hate this clown. They don't click at all in the ring and a poor match was the result. Eric tried to save it by slowing it down and turning to working on the legs, but the damage had been done. It was mercifully ended by a Tradition Lift. (D)
Adrian Garcia is back in the backstage area, this time with another Elite member, Shooter Deeley. Garcia: “Alex DeColt, what makes you think that tonight is going to be any different from Sunday? You're going to be back in the Front Choke Lock, and you're going to be tapping out to save your life. Shooter is the future of professional wrestling. You are the past. Get ready to pass the torch tonight.” (C)
vs. Match 4: Shooter Deeley vs. Alex DeColt This match is a mixture between technical mastery and all out brawling. Shooter gets the Front Choke Lock slapped on early, but Alex is able to fight to the ropes. The match basically breaks down into a brawl at this point, with the ending coming as a double count out as the two men don't make it back into the ring. (C+)
We get a video documenting the events from Sunday leading up to the upcoming tag match between Jack & Steve DeColt and Eddie Chandler and Trent Shaffer. (C+) And we go right back to Eddie Chandler, Trent Shaffer, and Adrian Garcia. Adrian begins to speak, but Eddie cuts him off. Chandler: “You know what? I got this. I've got a problem with Steve DeColt. He thinks he's God's gift to wrestling, but I've got a news flash for him... I am. And not only am I... but so is my partner tonight, Trent Shaffer. This man, along with Shooter, is going to lead CGC into a new era of professional wrestling. But while they lead us into a new era, I'm going to be the man that destroys the old era. Steve, I'm starting with you.” Trent: “Eddie baby, I've gotta thank you for teaming up with me tonight. Those DeColt boys don't have a sense of humor OR a sense of decency. You see, Jack DeColt thinks that he is a rightful challenger to MY Canadian Title. Just because he's the son of the boss, he thinks that he has a right to face me. Nepotism sure is grand, ain't it?” Garcia: “We've been facing it for years. Perhaps, Trent, you should think about your alliances in this company and making a smart move. You do seem to be quite an Elite competitor.” (C+)
vs. Match 5: Eddie Chandler and Trent Shaffer vs. Jack and Steve DeColt Eddie and Trent were able to get past the initial bombardment by the DeColts and cut Jack off from his brother. They proceeded to make quick tags and wear Jack down for the next several minutes. Jack is finally able to get over to his corner and make the tag to Steve. This spelt the end for Eddie and Trent, as a DeColt Stampede finishes Trent off as Jack keeps Eddie busy. (C-)
We cut over to Ricky DeColt, in the back, ready for his match. Ricky: “Dan, you've tried to put me and my brothers out for the past several years, but you always seem to come up short. What makes you think this time is going to be any different? I'm the World Champion. I'm the pinnacle of wrestling as it's known today. You can't just waltz in and expect to be the best. I'm sorry Danny boy, but you're going to find out why I'm the champion.” (C+) We get a video chronicling the history between Dan and Ricky. In addition to the past couple of weeks, there have been attacks that have led back months by Dan onto Ricky. In their only other singles match, Dan was DQed for excessive violence and not listening to the referee's commands. (C)
vs. Main Event: Dan DaLay vs. Ricky DeColt © (CGC World Championship) We had an ok main event on our hands that was brought down by the champion not being on his best game. Dan DaLay took advantage and powered the youngest DeColt into the mat many times. Ricky refused to stay down though and fought back until he sent DaLay over the top rope and to the floor. This brought out Eric Tyler, who slid in and assaulted the champion, causing a disqualification. (C)
The attack continues after the match. Dan DaLay looks at the insane Eric Tyler and after a moment's thought leaves the Bastion of Tradition to demolish Ricky until the other DeColts run out and chase him off. Ouch. Let down by every match on the card... well, except mine and Shooter's. Maybe if I slip out of here quickly enough, I won't... “Alex!” Crap. “Alex! What the hell was that?” It was the DeColt family patriarch. “That show didn't go off as I planned.” “I sure as hell hope not! That was a cluster. The semi-main was bad and I expect a lot more out of Dan and Ricky. You need to build these matches up more.” “I agree with you 100% and by the time Luck of the Draw rolls around, you're going to be singing a different tune. Trust me.” “Don't make me reconsider making you head booker.” And he left, angry with the way the show turned out. He wasn't alone. I wasn't happy with the result either. Especially not in front of the hometown crowd.

 • 2 weeks later...
I was going over my notes from the show, when Jack came into the room. “What's up Jack?” “Well, seeing that you're in charge, you better get ready to handle an incident.” “Oh crap, not again...” “Yeah, but make sure you handle it right tonight, because Farrah's messing with Marie.” “Great...” I made my way to the women's locker room to find Marie covered in a towel, screaming at Farrah. “Girls, what the hell is going on here?” Marie runs up to me with tears of anger in her eyes. “She did something with my clothes. She took them and won't give them back!” I look over to Farrah, who is rather calm, if not a little red. “Farrah?” “Why are you looking at me? What if I didn't do it?” “Because you're the only other person who would be in the women's locker room, well, besides Jack, and I doubt he'd want Marie to be paraded in front of the boys without clothes. Just call it a hunch.” “What about Jenny?” “She isn't here tonight...” “So what? It's just a prank.” “Farrah, I'm not going to be tolerating this in the CGC locker room. You're good at your job, and I'd like to keep you around, but poor behavior isn't acceptable. Give Marie her clothes back and go about your business.” “Fine, you've made your point. Your clothes are in the locker over there.” Farrah opens a locker and Marie's clothes are indeed there. “I hope you're happy.” Farrah leaves and Marie looks at me like I should too. I put my hands up and walk out. As long as people aren't throwing fists, I should be able to handle them. I just hope no one messes with my brothers...

The DeColt household is becoming more familiar to me. Dealing with family has its ups and downs, but so far, this life isn't as lonely as the one I faced while I was William Peers. I have a feeling that this place really can succeed it's just going to take some real work. “Hey, uhhh... Dad, I've been thinking about something.” “What's that Al?” “Well, we need to build up our undercard more. The four of us can only fight the Elite for so long before it's going to get tired out. But I don't have enough time on the TV show to showcase anyone else other than us.” “What do you suggest?” “I want to contact the network and see if they'll give us some extra TV time.” “More TV to produce, eh?” “Yeah, I know it will be a challenge, but we've got to take some risks. I also have a lot of contracts I want to send out to bolster our roster. As it stands right now, no one has any room to move around.” “You don't want too big of a roster. If that happens, you start to get egos clashing and people becoming unhappy that they aren't being used.” “True, but with a small roster, you get people complaining that all they do is lose, because they don't have anyone around them that are equals.” “Hmmm... you have a point. If you can get the network to agree to an increase in time, I'm all for it.” “Awesome. Thanks Dad. You won't regret it.” To the phones I go. I've got to pitch this just right...

And with Maple Leaf Sports accepting our proposal to increase the show to 90 minutes, we're going to be adding on a few more tag teams to the roster. TH Evans Known as Too Hot most everywhere else he goes, he's been in a team with TJ Bailey in 4C for awhile now. They're good enough with each other that they should be a good fit in with the growing CGC Tag Team division. The only downside for TH is that he's known to break out into a dance routine in the middle of a match... TJ Bailey Jobber to the stars, TJ Bailey has been plying his trade in 4C for some time now. He doesn't have very many victories under his belt, with most of his tag victories being thanks to his partner Too Hot. He should fit in with the new Tag Team division here though, and maybe he'll pick up some pins of his own. Flash Savage Flash is one half of a very popular tag team in MAW. He's Canadian by birth and has picked up a great deal of experience with his partner Oscar Golden. Flash is a fun kind of guy that the fans won't have any choice but to get behind... unless he doesn't want them to. Oscar Golden Like his tag team partner, Oscar is a naturally fun loving guy, but can play both sides of the field at any given time. There are high hopes for this young man and his partner. These guys should fit in well with the roster... wait a second, I said a few more tag teams, implying three... Oh, I almost forgot these two guys! Davis Newton The Triple Threat is fairly new to the wrestling scene, but he was trained by Rip Chord. I see nothing but potential in his future. Especially in his tag team with a fellow Canadian and amazing wrestler... James Hernandez James is the future of wrestling in North America. Without a doubt, James is going to turn some heads here in CGC. Especially in his team with Davis Newton, The New Youth have a tailor made feud with Youth Energy. I see the money now.

The World Heavyweight Championship. You see, the kid has heart. I'm not going to deny that, but what you're forgetting is that I've been wrestling for longer than that kid's been alive. I know more than he will ever know. I've wrestled men of caliber higher than any of you pathetic French-Canadians have ever seen.” Cheap heat victory for Eric. Tyler: “Hell, I've forgotten more about wrestling in the last year than Ricky has picked up since his old man opened this place up eighteen years ago. There's no possible way in hell that I can lose. I'm smarter, I'm stronger, I'm more experienced, and I'm flat out better than Ricky DeColt. He's done some impressive things, I'll give him that... but he's going to have to do a lot better to hold a candle to me. I wasn't sure how it happened myself, but when I looked at the footage, I realized that Alex DeColt cheated! He cheated me out of my rightful victory and my rightful shot at the World Heavyweight Championship! I was going to be a double champion! I was going to be the one that led this company into a brave, new world. And for that, Alex DeColt, I demand retribution! Tonight! I thought you were a clown.” Whippy: “Who? Meeeee???” Ed: “Yeah.” Whippy busts out into laughter. Whippy: “Well, I guess you're right! I am a clown after all! But that doesn't change the fact that tonight, in the ring, I'm going to be all business. Are you going to have my back?” Ed: “Yeah.” Whippy: “Good! Let's go out there and have a shocking good time!” (D)
Match 2: The Specialists © vs. Ed Monton and Whippy the Clown (CGC Tag Team Championship) Whippy and Ed look alright as a team out there and they take it to the Tag Champs early. They just don't account for the X-Factor that is Adrian Garcia, when he interferes and gives the Specialists the advantage they need to hit a Special Delivery and pick up the win. (D)
To the back again, we see Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay. Eddie: “Tonight, we face off against a man who was in CGC more than ten years ago and his tag team partner, a man who hasn't been relevant in more than five years. Over the hill doesn't describe the two of you, knocking on death's door does. Don't get me wrong. The two of you have had incredible careers spanning the past four decades, but you're going up against the best and the biggest CGC has to offer. The Fabulous One and the Elite Monster of professional wrestling are here. So Steve Flash, Ace Braun, do you have what it takes? I don't think so.” Dan merely growls before the two take off out of the shot. (C+) We cut over to another part of the backstage, where Thomas Morgan is attacked by the Bronzed God. TBG is yelling something about getting better partners next week and how he's going to put an end to Thomas Morgan, once and for all. (E)
Match 3: Dan DaLay and Eddie Chandler vs. Old School We have a standard tag formula match, that sees Steve Flash taking the brunt of the offense. The hot tag comes and Ace makes it seem like the veterans have a shot at victory, but Adrian Garcia runs out to ringside to distract them and Eddie Chandler takes over to pick up the win. (D+)
To the back again. This time, the locker room is filled with Jack, Steve, and Ricky DeColt. They're putting on the finishing touches to their preparation for their upcoming six man tag match. Jack: “Shooter... Ryan Powell... Trent Shaffer... You guys have been acting like thorns in the sides of the DeColt's for the past few months. You see, we're tired of you and tonight, we're going to show you why we're better than you.” Steve: “That's right, Jack. Tonight, those three jokers are going to find out why we're the best that there is in CGC. We're going to show why we've earned all our reigns with the titles in this company. And we're going to put the three of you out to pasture.” Ricky: “I'm the World Heavyweight Champion! I've fought the three of our opponents on numerous occasions. Sometimes I've come out on top, sometimes I haven't... but tonight, with my brothers at my side, there is no doubt that we're coming out on top.” (C)
Match 4: Ryan Powell, Trent Shaffer, and Shooter Deeley vs. Jack, Ricky, and Steve DeColt Despite what the DeColt brothers said, this isn't a one sided match. All six men do their fair share of wrestling and everyone looks good. That is, until the DeColts use their superior teamwork to take over and put an end to the uprising across the ring. Steve picks up the win with the DeColt Stampede on Shooter. (C)
We cut to the back, one last time, to Eric Tyler. Tyler: “On my path to the DeColt WrestleFestival, I have to take down another one of the DeColt boys. You see, I've beaten Jack, I've beaten Steve... Hell, I've beaten George himself. Alex DeColt, you're going to be the next one on my list. And then it will just leave one last DeColt boy. And Ricky, at the DeColt WrestleFestival, I'm going to beat you too. And I'm going to take the World Title for my own, one... last... time.” (C+)
Main Event: Eric Tyler vs. Alex DeColt In what should have been a very good match, we settle for okay. There isn't much chemistry between the two men in the ring and instead of a heated affair, we get more of a lukewarm one. Alex is able to put Eric on the ropes through most of the match, but it's not enough, as one missed splash in the corner allows Eric to take over and work to a Tradition Lift and the win. Sunday, Week 1, March 2008. CGC Title Bout Wrestling Quebec City Arena (Quebec, Canada) Dark Match: Cal Sanders def. Grimm Quibble in 3. (E+) Dark Match: Soldiers of Fortune def. Too Sweet in 3. (E+) Dark Match: Ricky DeColt def. Ace Braun, James Hernandez and Ed Monton in 7. (D+) The show starts in the office of George DeColt. George: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Title Bout Wrestling. Thank you for coming to the show and tuning in on live TV. At Luck of the Draw, Eric Tyler did indeed outlast the competition and earn a shot at my son Ricky at the DeColt WrestleFestival. However, he also upset my other sons in the process. They've asked me to set up a six man tag match against Eric Tyler and two partners of his choice. I felt compelled to agree and sign the match. Therefore, in the main event tonight, Alex, Jack, and Steve will face off against Eric and two other opponents. Once again, thank you for tuning in. Enjoy.” (C+) Eric Tyler is in the back, just having seen and heard the announcement on the monitor. He shakes his head and sighs when up walks Trent Shaffer. Trent: “How's it going, soon to be champ?” Tyler: “Not amazingly well. Trent, you've held onto that Canadian Championship for the past several months and you've proven yourself to be a competent wrestler in the ring.” Trent: “Well, I don't like to brag...” Tyler: “And I'm sure you're going to want some revenge on the DeColts for your match last week.” Trent: “Well... they are a bunch of cheats.” Tyler: “That's why I want to offer you a spot on my team.” Trent: “Ooohhh... I'm sorry Eric, but I won't be able to tonight, you see, I have to defend my title. In fact, I'm up next.” Tyler: “Maybe another time then...” Trent: “Sorry.” Trent takes off and Eric strokes his chin before walking in the opposite direction. (B-)
Match 1: Trent Shaffer © vs. Steve Flash (CGC Canadian Championship) The opener is a fast paced affair. Steve takes control and almost wins the belt on many occasions. The only downside is that he takes his eyes off the prize for just a moment. Trent takes his opportunity to pull out a pair of brass knucks from his pocket and clock the veteran to win. (D)
We cut back to Eric Tyler, who sees Ryan Powell in the background. After a moment, the two are face to face. Tyler: “Ryan, I would like you to be my partner tonight against the DeColts.” Ryan: “Why would I want to do that?” Tyler: “Because together, we can beat them.” Ryan: “I don't know about that. Every time I get into the ring with them, I lose. I haven't beaten a DeColt in almost a year, since I last beat Ricky.” Tyler: “Well, you'll get another chance.” Ryan: “I don't want another chance. I don't want to fight the DeColts anymore. I have a match against Shane Nelson.” Ryan turns to walk away, but Eric grabs him by the arm. Tyler: “Don't walk away from me.” Ryan: “I'm sorry, you'll have to find someone else.” Ryan pulls his arm hard and walks away. (B-)
Match 2: Ryan Powell vs. Shane Nelson These two put on a decent seesaw battle. As soon as Shane takes control, however, James Hernandez and Davis Newton make their presence known. Shane, along with the ref, is distracted by Davis Newton, allowing James Hernandez to run in and hit an Apparition 14, followed by Ryan hitting the Star Treatment for the win. (D)
Eric Tyler is in the back once again. This time, he sees the Specialists and Adrian Garcia. He walks up to the Tag Team Champions and extends his hand. Nate and Bobby look at him expressionless, while Adrian Garcia accepts the handshake. Garcia: “Eric, what may I do for you?” Tyler: “I've been looking for these two all night. I would like their services as my tag partners tonight in the main event.” Garcia: “That's a very interesting request, but I regret that I have to decline.” Eric's face suddenly turns red. Tyler: “And why is that?” Garcia: “Well, you see, these two have something else planned for tonight. I wouldn't want them to be placed in harms way.” Tyler: “Who the hell am I going to find to team up with me?” Garcia: “Don't worry about that. I have an idea for you, come with me.” Eric calms down and follows Adrian away. The Specialists, however, stay where they are. Bobby suddenly points off camera and the two sprint out of the shot. When the camera picks them back up, they have tackled Ed Monton and are mercilessly attacking him. (C-, D-)
Match 3: The Bronzed God and Shooter Deeley vs. Thomas Morgan and Whippy the Clown This didn't turn out well at all. My best guess is that these guys just don't complement each other. TBG and Thomas don't get a lot of time in the ring together, but that just goes to build up the anxiety toward each other. Shooter Deeley picks up the win in the end as he gets Thomas to tap out to the Front Choke Lock. (D-)
To the back, we see the DeColts, sans Ricky. They've finished their preparations and are on their way to the ring. Alex: “Eric Tyler, I hope, for your sake, that you've found two partners that are capable. Because if you haven't, my brothers and I are going to destroy you.” Steve: “If you mess with one DeColt, you mess with all of us. Eric Tyler, you've messed with all of us and your payback is going to be multiplied tenfold.” Jack: “You know, for once, I don't have anything to add. Good luck Eric, you're going to need it.” (C+) Eric Tyler comes to the ring by himself. Once he steps in, he grabs a microphone and walks to the center of the ring. Tyler: “Well, it's that time. I'm going to fight the three older DeColt boys. It's a shame that Ricky can't fight his own battles. That he needs to run to his big brothers for help whenever he gets himself into trouble. Well, that's fine. Because, I found myself a couple of tag team partners and they don't like the DeColts much themselves. So, without further ado, my tag partners... Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay, the Elite!” Dan and Eddie come walking out from the back to a chorus of boos from the fans. They relish in the attention as they climb into the ring. Eddie shaking hands and then hugging with Eric. Eddie: “It's so nice of you to come to us. You see, you can't find anyone who hates the DeColts more than Dan and myself. We've fought these morons for more years than I care to count. When you came back to CGC, Dan and I looked at each other and smiled. Well, I smiled, he kind of grunted. The important thing is that we knew that we'd have another real wrestler with the ability and the gumption to take the fight to the DeColts. So Eric, we thank you for coming to us, because now we all know that we're on the same page.” Eddie and Eric shake hands once again. (C+)
Main Event: Eric Tyler, Eddie Chandler, and Dan DaLay vs. Alex, Jack, and Steve DeColt Now this is more like what I expect from the wrestlers on this roster. These six men stick to the rules for awhile, but after the eight minute mark, all hell breaks loose. The brawl encompasses the entire ringside area and if it isn't for the TV time limit, it could keep going. But as it is, the show ends in a draw. Sunday, Week 2, March 2008. CGC Title Bout Wrestling Varsity Arena (Ontario, Canada) Dark Match: The Soldiers of Fortune def. Canadian Blondes in 2. (E) Dark Match: Dan & Eddie def. Youth Energy, Trent and Shooter, and Whippy and Ed in 10. (C)
Match 1: The New Youth vs. Too Sweet This is a match to showcase the abilities of the New Youth. Hopefully they'll be able to carry some matches on their own by the end of the year, but until then, they'll look good in matches like this, against TH and TJ. They are able to pick up the win without much problem. Winners: The New Youth (D-)
The Bronzed God steps out into the entrance. TBG: “It is time that I begin to protect myself from the man who has nothing but spite for me. The man who has been trying to attack me since he came to CGC. Tomas Morgan, because of you I am forced to have a bodyguard. You should be fearful to meet... Colossus!” A mountain of a man appears from the back. A few fans may recognize him from the ending days of DaVE, as Hell's Bouncer or from USPW as Colossus. Either way, it's clear that The Bronzed God means business. TBG: “He will be joining Mr. Quibble and myself tonight in the match against you and your partners. I wish you good luck. You will need it.” (C-)
Match 2: The Bronzed God, Colossus, and Grimm Quibble vs. Cal Sanders, Christian Price, and Thomas Morgan Colossus was a quick fill in from USPW when a signing didn't pan out in time. This match did nothing to impress me or the fans in the arena, but all six men aren't very well known, so it's passable. Nothing of real note happened through the match, but the end was nasty with the way Colossus put Thomas Morgan out with his feared Damnation Drop. Winners: The Bronzed God, Colossus, and Grimm Quibble (E+)
We cut backstage, where Ryan Powell is walking toward the ring. He doesn't get far though, as he is blindsided by Eric Tyler. The Bastion of Tradition proceeds to put a whooping on Ryan, until he feels he's done enough damage. Tyler: “Retribution, it's something that is etched in the tradition of the wrestling business. Ryan Powell was too much of a coward to team with me last week. And this week, he faces my retribution. He'll consider himself lucky when he comes to that I didn't finish him off. Ricky, at the DeColt WrestleFestival, I won't stop when I feel the consciousness fade from you. I won't stop until I feel the blast breath escape your lungs. The World Title is rightfully mine. You'll see that soon enough.” Eric starts to walk away, but stops and looks at the camera. Tyler: “Oh, consider this a present for you. I don't want you worn down for our big match.” Eric walks off as the camera looks down at the hurt Ryan Powell. (C+, C+)
Match 3: Different Strokes vs. Old School I really thought Ace and Steve would be able to pull out a better match than this from Nathan and Philippe. I was wrong in that thought. This just wasn't a fun match to watch, but it was great to see it end with a Flash Bang. Winners: Old School (E+)
To the back we go again, this time, Whippy the Clown is sitting near Ed Monton. Ed is in street clothes, complete with trucker hat. Whippy is dressed in full clown garb. Whippy: “Ed, I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you last week. I didn't know they had attacked you until after my match.” Ed: “That's fine, you didn't know.” Whippy: “But I should have been there, like you were there for me!” Ed: “Don't worry about it.” Whippy: “But I am worried about it! You saved me, and I failed you. There's nothing funny about that.” Ed: “Let's fight them at the WrestleFestival.” Whippy: “Really? Do you mean it Ed?” Ed: “Yeah.” Whippy: “Alright! I'll try to get it set up!” Whippy runs off. (D)
Match 4: Ryan Powell vs. Ricky DeColt © (CGC World Championship) Ryan doesn't look well after the attack perpetrated on him by Eric Tyler. He takes his sweet time getting into the ring and then powders to the ring a lot to catch his breath. Ricky, being fresh, has no problem tonight and is able to put Ryan away with the DeColt 45. Winner: Ricky DeColt (C+)
Eric Tyler comes out to the entranceway, he claps toward Ricky, who is still in the ring. Tyler: “Congratulations on your victory Ricky. Enjoy it while you still can. You see, come the WrestleFestival, you won't be standing in the ring with your arm raised. You'll be carted out on a stretcher after you take the beating of your life. See you then... champ.” Eric turns around and walks away, leaving Ricky in the ring shaking his head. (C)
Main Event: The Specialists vs. Jack & Steve DeColt This is a match to see if the Specialists can hang with the big boys. I'd like to say they can, but we were deprived of a clean ending to the match. Dan DaLay and Eddie Chandler decided that they would run in and attack the DeColt boys, leading to a four on two Elite beatdown. Winners: Jack & Steve DeColt (C+)
The beatdown continues after the match, as all four men take turns picking apart the elder DeColt boys. The attack doesn't go too far though, as Alex and Ricky bolt down to the ring to make the save. They are able to dump the Specialists from the ring and concentrate on Dan and Eddie, giving Jack and Steve the needed recovery time to get back into the fight. The show closes as the DeColts finally clear the ring and stand tall. (C-) Overall Rating: C Attendance: 2000 TV Rating: 0.42
