BHOTWG once more bounced between Cult and National as PGHW and GCG proved the only other companies able to stay National. The year when Stuart Ferdinand, Yodo Nakane, Cliff Wilson, Onishi Takuma and Razor Valentine suffered career threatening injuries. The year that saw Elemental and Kazu Yoshizawa inducted into the Hall of Immortals. The year that saw Beautiful Barbette try and make it fifth time lucky with a wrestler, getting engaged to Rory McCallum The year that saw Scarlett Samurai make a successful return from injury, winning that SoCal Championship off Black Samurai and forcing him to become Plague. The year where Human Arsenal won his first title, and Troy Tornado won the legendary King of the Indies tournament. The year where CZCW actually got a tag division, with the titles going from Troy Tornado and Guide to The Truth of Youth to The Sneer Corporation.
Congrats on another B match.
I feel Arsenal may be the man to carry you for some time yet. Here's hoping you can hold onto him.
Before I got writer's block for the NYCW (and somehow totally screwing up a season's worth of writeups via screwing up a transfer between Microsoft Notebooks between computers) Human Arsenal was starting to gain a lot of momentum in the undercard.

2001: I’m still 12th largest, keeping Cliff Anderson happy until my budgetary goal is up later this year. He replaces it with a “Do not get into debt” goal, which considering he wants me to almost double our bank account seems quite fair. Regional Battle – won, won and won thanks to a great show. Aiji Meshizuka opens TEIR-1 in Japan, which will be booked by Joel Bryant. And I feel bad that I joked about Beautiful Babette in my last post, as she passes away in what is thought to be a drugs related death. JD Morgan has now left NOTBPW. Eh? He lasted a month there. I’ve no idea what happened there – he didn’t sign a contract based on number of appearances, as he hasn’t wrestled this year. He wasn’t fired, and NOTBPW have loads of money in the back. Ah well – easier for me to schedule shows. Quick cut to the “real” Cornellverse, 2001 is the year when the Coastal Zone Championship was born, with Fox Mask winning a tournament in July. I can’t see fiction replicating… this other fiction this time around. Announced for CZCW New Year Rising: Guide vs Sebastian Krause Plague vs American Elemental Valiant & Pecs vs Dark Nightmare Sammy Bach vs Troy Tornado Electrico and Whippy the Clown vs More Problems The Sneer Corporation (c) vs The Flying Dragons vs The Fly Boys for the SoCal Tag Titles Silver Shark vs Alex Braun Human Arsenal (c) vs Scarlett Samurai for the SoCal Championship

CZCW New Year Rising South West (attendance 2,000) Sebastian Krause beat Guide in 14.28 with an Extreme Efficiency (C-) Shane Sneer shook Krause’s hand, and declared that JD Morgan did not have a match tonight, and made an open challenge for anyone to face him. That brought out Chris Rockwell (recently departed from SWF where he wrestled as Chris Storm), who declared that he was here to take the Sneer Corporation apart one step at a time. Sneer fumbled over his words, and the match that was expected now will be happening later tonight (D-) Plague beat American Elemental in 8.49 with a New Jersey Turnpike (C) Alex Braun and Silver Shark cut a promo – whoever wins their match tonight will go on to face the SoCal Champion at Leap Into Action. And they both thought it would be them – Braun saying that he’d dedicate the match to Beautiful Babette (C-) Dark Nightmare beat Valiant & Pecs in 10.34 when Tij pinned Pecs (D) Troy Tornado beat Sammy Bach in 13.13 with a Star Maker (C) -Commentary pointed out the history between these two when they were in the tag division, but tonight both workers showed one another more respect Troy Tornado reminded everyone that he still had a title shot due to his King of the Indies win, and he’s be cashing it in at the right time (C-) Electrico and Whippy the Clown beat More Problems in 7.33 when Electrico pinned (C-) -Electrico and Whippy once more pull off another good match The Fly Boys come out to cut a thankfully short promo, seemingly stunned that they had a title shot (E+) The Sneer Corporation (c) beat The Flying Dragons and The Fly Boys in 16.45 when Deano pinned Snappy (D+) -Slightly disappointing – but maybe it’s just been that a lot of the other matches have overachieved tonight. Dark Nightmare came out to attack The Fly Boys, leaving Deano Machino to hit the Cradle Piledriver on Snap Dragon Silver Shark and Alex Braun came out and were about to start their match when Queen Emily came out. She declared that she didn’t know why the two of them were bothering – they were risking their career facing Human Arsenal next month. Alex Braun pointed out the Human Arsenal had his match first tonight, to which Emily responded that Braun had his as well (D) Silver Shark beat Alex Braun in 16.09 by pinfall (C+) -Alex Braun had this won, locking in a scissors submission on Silver Shark. However, Queen Emily helped Sharky roll over onto Braun, and earned him the pinfall victory moments before he tapped out himself Chris Rockwell came out, and asked if The Sneer Corporation were so weak that they’d send Morgan’s colleagues out to help him. Sneer responded that Morgan didn’t need any help to defeat a reject, which just made Rockwell smile (D+) Chris Rockwell beat JD Morgan in 22.35 with a Fujiwara Armbar (B-) -This was left to be a clean match – a match that Morgan was unable to win Champion and former champion came out while introductions were made, with Emily hyping up her man (D) Human Arsenal (c) beat Scarlett Samurai in 21.21 with an Ammo Dump (C+) -Shane Sneer was conspicuous by his absence, meaning we actually got two Corporation matches with no interference. Two matches which saw the Corporation draw blank, as Samurai was unable to put away the new champion before being hit with a devastating Ammo Dump Overall Rating C Good show – not as good as AAA managed, but good nonetheless. Chris Rockwell (aka Chris Storm, aka Chris Morisette, aka Lobster Warrior) was with SWF (as Chris Storm) for over three years after debuting in a superb match with Nemesis. He managed several title shots for the North American and Tag Titles (as Youthful Aggression with Gene Curtis aka Enygma), and the latter part of his work there was mainly tag work. However, this was no bad thing as he had a high rating (if unsuccessful in terms of winning the gold) feud with The Modern Day Cowboys (RDJ (as Sidewinder) and Skull DeBones), and were involved in an A rated match with Liberty and Christian Faith. Much like Tommy Cornell, it is expected that Rockwell will eventually head back to SWF. Fox Mask leaves DaVE, meaning the Flying Animals are both now CZCW exclusive. Meanwhile on WLW’s first tour Silver Shark cracks his sternum, and will be out for three weeks. Leap Into Action will be put back until late February to allow him to recover for his title shot. CZCW This Is How We Do It Mid South (attendance 541) Fox Mask beat E.M.M. Moe in 7.03 with a Fox Hunter (D) Flex beat American Elemental in 10.29 with a Romeo is Bleeding (C-) Sammy Bach beat Matt Sparrow in 11.58 with a Back On Your Back (D-) Chris Rockwell beat Guide in 15.47 with a Fujiwara Armbar (C) Overall Rating D+ American Elemental sprains his ankle, but he’ll be back in a few days. Pecs and Queen Emily sign new deals. And The Flying Dragons were CZCW exclusive for a week – Snap Dragon signs with TEIR-1, while Fox Mask tour with Hinote Dojo. And finally for the month, Whippy the Clown (as Nathan Priest) took on Richard Coleman with GCG. And botched a top rope move injuring his spine. He’s out for almost a year, ending his promising Tag Team with Electrico. Ouch. No – there’s on more piece of news for the month – Pistol Pete Hall is back! Unfortunately I’ve got a goal to not sign anyone over 35, and as I’m almost certain to miss my financial goal I can’t risk signing him. February: It’s new promotion madness in Japan as SAISHO also open up, founded by Lioness Mushashibo, booked by… Rick Sanders. Somewhere, someone’s made a lot of money on a long odds bet. American Elemental gets a BHOTWG tour, while Electrico goes to SAISHO and Hell Monkey to TEIR-1. The Pistol Pete Hall revival starts with a PGHW tour. JD Morgan signs a new deal. CZCW Leap Into Action South West (attendance 2,000) Troy Tornado beat American Elemental in 8.33 with a Star Maker (C+) Troy Tornado declared that he asked to start the show so he could relax and watch the Main Event later – as next month he’s cashing in his title shot (D+) The Biggz Boyz beat More Problems in 10.37 when Bart pinned Sparrow (D+) -That's Matt Sparrow and E.M.M. Moe - and yes, they're a jobber team Chris Rockwell cut a promo saying that he was a true fit with CZCW, and was enjoying it so much that he brought in his girl, the girl of everyone’s dream – Dream Girl with him (C) Snap Dragon beat Deano Machino in 10.37 with a Dragon’s breath (D+) The Fly Boys beat Dark Nightmare by DQ in 8.09 when I, Butcher attacked Donnie J (D) -The Fly Boys were on top until the crazed I, Butcher hit the ring. He’s spent the last few years in SWF so many recognised him, and as the attack was blatant the ref called the DQ Flex rolled from the ring but encourage Tijuana Vampire and I, Butcher to continue the attack (D-) Hell Monkey beat Fox Mask in 9.34 with a Tumbling Monkey (C) -1-1 from the Tag champs Cliff Anderson stood up to announce Whippy the Clown’s injury, and wish him the best for his recovery (D) Plague beat Electrico in 15.49 with a New Jersey Turnpike (C+) -Electrico suffered his first defeat, but it was nothing to be ashamed of – a great match against a former champion Chris Rockwell, Dream Girl, Alex Braun and Sammy Bach were out for the Main Event, and couldn’t wait to face the Corporation (D+) Chris Rockwell, Sammy Bach and Alex Braun drew with Sebastian Krause, JD Morgan and Scarlett Samurai in 14.29 due to a double count out (C) -This one was just fine until Hell Monkey and Deano Machino dragged Dream Girl away from the ring, while Rockwell was the legal man. Bach and Braun went to her rescue, then the rest of the Corporation joined in, and when Rockwell realised what was going on he also left the ring. Which left us without any wrestlers There was a huge out of ring brawl, and eventually Rockwell was able to drag Dream Girl away (D-) Silver Shark came out for the Main Event, and got mocked by Queen Emily as not a true threat, Silver Shark reminded her that he had won both the King if the Indies and the SoCal Championship, as Troy Tornado joined the commentary team (D) Human Arsenal (c) beat Silver Shark in 16.30 with an Ammo Dump (B) -Bloody hell. A simply fantastic match, with Sharky proving himself worthy of the title shot. Actually, he did better than I thought he would, which is why it was a nice clean loss in the end As Human Arsenal celebrated with his title Troy Tornado took a mic and said that it looked like there would be a rematch of the King of the Indies final at Gearing Up next month – and we all know who came out on top that night (C-) Overall Rating C+ foolinc just pulls out the 4-3 win, but thanks Beeker for making it a competition. Shark Attack T-Shirts for you both, and foolinc can have his Samurai hood now Wow. Not our best match or show, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so I was very happy with what I got. Silver Shark kept himself in the mix with a great performance, while I’m salivating at another Human Arsenal / Troy Tornado match up. Two debuts in the show – hardcore maniac I, Butcher joins after a mixed SWF run (where he proved you can not rely on him to carry a match, but given someone to carry him he’s just fine), and Dream Girl adds CZCW to LAW and XFW. I couldn’t resist I, Butcher, as combining him and Tijuana Vampire was just begging out to be done, and Dream Girl was hired as LAW and XFW have proved attractive girls = ratings. And to ensure this, I’ve paired her with my most over wrestler. Boy, my roster is looking far too large at the moment. But I’ve never been good at making cuts – and I prove it as Snap Dragon re-signs. CZCW This Is How We Do It Mid South (attendance 381) Valiant beat Matt Sparrow in 8.42 with a V-Split (E+) -Didn’t click Sammy Bach beat E.M.M. Moe in 7.59 with a Back On Your Back (D) Guide beat Jimmy P in 10.59 with a Guided Missile (D-) Snap Dragon beat American Elemental in 12.25 with a Dragon’s Breath (D+) -Lack of psychology (well, Sammy Bach was the road agent…) Overall Rating D+ That is a cheap a show as I can put on, as I cut costs all over the place (Road Agent, Colour Commentary, ref and wrestlers) and… I still made a loss. However, if I’d have done last months attendance I would have made a profit – although last month I did advertise Chris Rockwell, which helps. Frankie Future, who holds the HGC World Heavyweight Title and XFW World Title signs for SWF .

After all those signings, it’s time to go down who I signed, why, and how they’ve fared. Warning – I’ve actually signed a massive 44 workers in just over four years: Super Joshuya (18-1-8) – ex SoCal Champion brought some star power to CZCW, and he picked up another SoCal Title reign and Tag Title reign. Left in the summer of ’98 for GCG, and was solid in singes action before helping out a struggling tag division. Loses more than he wins at GCG, where he’s recently become enemies with Dog Fyte. CZCW Rating – B Pablo Rodriguez (21-13) – the young, exciting talent helped the midcard up their ratings (feuding with all masked men), and brought star power to Mexican shows. Left in the fall of ’98 for BHOTWG, where despite losing a lot he’s had some great matches, including an A* rated match with Hooded Kudo. Suffered a major back injury which kept him out for a year, but now returned is feuding with Elemental II over the Junior Title. CZCW Rating - B The Great Hisato (4-4) – brought in for ratings, and although he didn’t fail he didn’t excel until his contract was up, by which time I decided he wasn’t worth the money. Now wrestles non stop for GCG pulling out consistently good matches, but has yet to take a belt as GCG have no junior division. CZCW Rating – D+ Brent Hill (2-0) – another ex-champion brought in, but SWF snapped him up before he could have any impact. Has a 60% winning record at SWF, but mainly he defeats a few jobbers before helping make a Main Eventer look good. CZCW Rating – n/a Snap Dragon (42-35) – brought in as a “future” CZCWer (I’ll say that a lot even though the future is being changed in this diary). No plan when brought in until I signed… Fox Mask (31-46) – signed to form The Flying Animals with Snap Dragon, and the two went to have a title run together, proving shining stars in a weak tag division. Fox Mask has always been seen as the weaker of the two, but the two are never involved in a stinker. CZCW Ratings – Snap Dragon C, Fox Mask C- Dylan Sidle (5-4) – I needed a partner for Alex Braun, and just happened to notice the two team up at RPW, so brought Sidle in. Unfortunately I just never felt Sidle at all, so he meandered and then left at the end of his contract. Currently defeats lower carders in RPW CZCW Rating – E+ Richard Blood (12-29) – brought in for the ’97 King of the Indies where he lost in the first round, setting up his CZCW career. He then lost lots with average ratings, beating the occasional jobber, and then formed a tag team with future signing Peregrino Soto that went nowhere. Now owns LAW where he still loses a lot, and has been transitional Tag Champion with Marcus L. Reinoso. CZCW Rating – D- Scarlett Samurai (34-2-23) – brought in to help his Japanese colleague Super Joshuya, the two men took the Tag Titles, where he was always the weaker partner. Meandered when Joshuya left, until good chemistry with Tayler Morton diverted a planned story and saw him partnering the debuting Black Samurai. Won the tag titles once more and was pulling out decent matches until a back injury put him out for a year. Came back where he left off and took the SoCal Title off his former partner, before losing it five months later to Human Arsenal in a great match. Proved a tournament specialist in Japan, winning the BBW Blood Bowl and Hinote Dojo Best of February (twice) and April. CZCW Rating – B Rico Santana (3-2) – brought in on a short term contract for the ’97 King of the Indies, where he actually defeated Clark Alexander to progress. Didn’t help him get a new contract, despite the fact he does little wrong. Now wrestles independent shows with Shawn Gonzalez (who still hasn’t been signed by anyone) – they’ve won all 13 of the matches where they’ve teamed CZCW Rating – E+ Tijuana Vampire (15-59) – brought in to help Mexican tours, while jobbing. Is generally putting on decent matches (most recently teaming with Flex), but now getting fed up of jobbing. Also works for OLLIE and MHW. CZCW Rating – D+ Tommy Cornell (8-2) – at CZCW we show off the best youngsters in wresting, so hiring Cornell when he left SWF was a no-brainer. Consistently good matches before he returned to SWF, and both Alex Braun and Guide gained greatly from wins over him. Still not out of the midcard at SWF. CZCW Rating – B+ Sammy Bach (46-3-34) – another talented, young worker – another good fit for CZCW. With few people with good mic skills I’ve tried to turn him into Main Event material, without ever succeeding. Could really do with a midcard singles title at CZCW, but after feuding with Braun is now working with the veteran against The Sneer Corporation. Had a short Tag Title reign with Reece Clark which was shortened by Clark’s departure CZCW Rating – C+ Guide (47-1-26) – Guide almost lucked into CZCW – I needed someone who could brawl to team with Troy Tornado and Dog Fyte, and he fit the bill. As Scout went to BHOTWG ruining the chances of teaming them, Guide put on some great matches, giving him title shots and a victory over Tommy Cornell. Reigned with Tornado with the Tag Titles for almost a year, before his two and a half year alliance with Tornado fell in late 2000. Unfortunately for him it is Tornado who is getting the push, and for the first time for CZCW Guide is getting left behind. CZCW Rating – B- Masked Rebel (0-23) – came to CZCW, did the job reasonably well, ticked off the boss, left. I’d have him back… Anderson won’t. CZCW Rating – E- Black Samurai / Plague (59-1-13) – I held off signing Plague for a while (as a future CZCW player of note), wanting a story to bring him character in. The plan of an alliance between him and Alex Braun after he attacked Tayler Morton was slightly changed with Scarlett Samurai joining the picture, which gave Plague a Tag Title run. After Scarlett Samurai got injured Plague went from strength to strength, winning the King of the Indies and the SoCal Title. Top talent. CZCW Rating – A Primal Rage (13-2-23) – another future CZCW'er, but an odd fit with the company. He initially feuded with Chris Perkins (aka Insane Machine) before teaming with him, as a nod to their “future” title run. To say that they slowly built up momentum would be an understatement. Unfortunately I missed his contract coming up, as he’s meandered around the independents. Even worse for him I’ve released Perkins as well, although they may be re-signed as a team in the future. CZCW Rating – D Joey Flame (9-3) – ah, Joey Flame. Brought in as the figure of authority in the “who attacked Tayler Morton” storyline on TV. Cut rubbish promos and participated in poor matches. Wisely retired before I told him that he contract wouldn’t be renewed. CZCW Rating – F Spanish Superfly (32-2-10) – brought in to bring real star power to my Mexican shows, he actually turned into a top babyface for the company… before deciding to concentrate on his OLLIE work. Most missed worker, had consistently good matches whichever country he was in – and left just before he was going to be given a title reign CZCW Rating – B+ Awesome Thunder (0-0) – yep, signed him on a short term deal when he was injured. Now at PGHW. CZCW Rating – n/a Jimmy P (9-29) – debuted just in time to be brought in with… Donnie J (13-24) - … as The Fly Boys. When Scarlett Samurai injured himself more tag teams were required to compete in a tournament for the vacant title, and who better than “future” champions. Unfortunately yet to put together a real winning run, Donnie’s being booked stronger than Jimmy. CZCW Rating – Jimmy P D, Donnie J D+ Peregrino Soto (0-23) – also brought in for the Tag Tournament… and showed no chemistry with his partner, Richard Blood. They still teamed on occasion (to lose), and he still wrestled in singles on occasion (to lose). Now at LAW, not missed. CZCW Rating - F E.M.M. Moe (3-1-40) – brought in purely as a “future” CZCW’er, with no plans, and no chance to use his charisma. Never in a bad match, rarely in a good one, jobs (without complaint) with Matt Sparrow. I wouldn’t really of noticed if I hadn’t signed him. CZCW Rating - D- Hell Monkey (24-22) – Hell Monkey is someone I have fond memories of – my first experience of the Cornellverse was Hell Monkey as infinitywpi’s CZCW champion, with him using a tyre on a rope as a weapon. Good days. He was an instant signee as soon as he debuted, doing early jobs in great style. Since then he joined The Sneer Corporation and is the current Tag Title holder, but he’s expected to go further eventually. CZCW Rating – C JD Morgan (27-1-13) – brought in as Alex Braun’s running buddy, to bring ratings in the ring. And he’s delivered just as expected, happily jobbing occasionally to other Main Eventers CZCW Rating – B Deano Machino (21-10) – brought in with Shane Sneer and quickly formed The Sneer Corporation with Hell Monkey, which means he skipped the “jobber” run that Hell Monkey had. Current Tag Champion, solid. CZCW Rating – C Nathan Black (0-19) – brought in as a jobber. He jobbed, but consistently and would be brought back (as a jobber) CZCW Rating – E+ Reece Clark (7-5) – I always take a look whenever SWF release talent (which has been clear in the last few months), and his young talent made him an excellent tag partner for Sammy Bach. Promising tag reign ended by going back to SWF, where he’s gone 0-14 since his return CZCW Rating – C Mayan Idol (10-1-7) – brought in as Pecs mystery partner, I couldn’t make up my mind whether to keep him as Pecs long term partner or put him in singles action. When Spanish Supefly left he went into singles action, but due to not pushing him too hard (and not giving him a title run as promised) he left after 9 months. Looking back at his record now he put on some damned good matches, and I should have done more to try and keep him, and if I wasn’t signing so many other workers I’d bring him back. Currently Tag and Trios champion in OLLIE. CZCW Rating – B- Matt Sparrow (0-25) – ah. Knew he was a jobber – didn’t realise he hadn’t won a match yet. He seems to be blessed with low destiny, and was brought in as a “future” star. Not disappointing in his jobber role, but is he worth keeping? Now teams with E.M.M. Moe CZCW Rating – D- Brett Biggz (5-12) and Bart Biggz (5-13) – brought in together for the tag division, but are being asked to earn their crust – which they are doing. Consistently good matches (and Brett had a very good singles match with Troy Tornado), they have the look of future champion. CZCW Rating – Brett Biggz C-, Bart Biggz C- Valiant (3-10) – not a natural CZCW, only brought in as “future” star, and teams with Pecs. Misused. CZCW Rating – D- Electrico (9-2) – following his GCG departure I was quick to snap us this talent, not just for his Mexican overness, but natural flying talent. Pushed well, and was starting to deliver with Whippy the Clown until his partner was injured. With no midcard singles title, it’ll be interesting to see where Electrico goes. CZCW Rating – C Sebastian Krause (9-1-3) – Just when The Sneer Corporation was about to fall apart this German technician was released from SWF, and was the perfect fit to keep the stable going. Consistently good matches, but we’re now looking for some wow factor from him. Highest paid man on the roster CZCW Rating – B- American Elemental (1-9) – another one for the future, his matches are good – his lack of storyline not so much so CZCW Rating – D+ Chris Rockwell (3-1-0) – as Chris Storm in SWF he developed talent and name value at SWF. I just had to bring him in upon his release to feud with The Sneer Corporation, but it is expected that he will eventually end up back in SWF. CZCW Rating – n/a I, Butcher (0-0) – another SWF release, and his hardcore style just does not fit CZCW. However, the team of I, Butcher and Tijuana Vampire was too good to miss, even if it’s unlikely to draw. CZCW Rating – n/a
It's crazy to think how many wrestlers you've actually booked over four years. In my NEO diary, I've played through 2011 and have 32 current wrestlers and 29 more wrestlers that have wrestled in a NEO ring at some time.
Yeah. I like big rosters and so, only partway through 98, I'm looking at a good thirty-some talents who've wrestled alone. Add in the occasional trade deal with CZCW, and...

Shark Attack T-Shirts for you both, and foolinc can have his Samurai hood now
I blame Mo' Problems. But now I can happily watch Silver Shark while humming "Sharks" by Morphine. Human Arsenal is the better choice for champion but I just really dig Silver Shark. If I had that won/loss record before I voted I wouldn't have picked Mo' Problems at all.
I'll have to admit that even I didn't realise how bad Sparrow and Moe's records were - compiling that list was an eye opening experience for me.

I've actually made a cut list now, as I'm very bad at letting wrestlers go. Normally I enter negotiations, find out that they don't want a pay rise (as they haven't been pushed), so renew their contract. Although their have been shows where I've used all my roster (due to me actually having a tag division), I really can afford to let some people go. Especially as, er, there's, um, an ever so slight chance that I'm still signing workers. March: We do our usual trick in the Regional Battle (losing where we’re trying to be popular (South West and Mid South) while winning where we’re not even trying (New England). We also make $14,000, which makes me think perhaps I can reach my financial goal. Realistically I can’t, but I was going to throw in the towel, but now I’ll try. However, I’m not going to cut down o the quality of shows, as I want to push my popularity up. Frankie Future doesn’t drop the HGC or XFW World Titles… they haven’t sorted out anything at HGC but The Walk takes the XFW title. CZCW Gearing Up South West (attendance 2,000) Guide beat Electrico in 11.13 with a Guided Missile (C) -A second defeat for Electrico, but while showing good chemistry with his opponent he was unable to cope with his unorthodox method of attack Flex bring out I, Butcher and Tijuana Vampire, and claim that they will spread death and destruction to anyone who stands against them… which I, Butcher then adds to with a poem (D-) I, Butcher and Tijuana Vampire beat The Fly Boys in 7.29 when Butcher pinned Jimmy (D) -With the You, Victim. Nice one Derek Sammy Bach cut a promo promising to defeat Sebastian Krause – at 25 a fading light of the industry (D) Sebastian Krause beat Sammy Bach in 12.43 with an Extreme Efficiency (C-) -Krause seemed to take exception at Bach’s claim, and put an efficient performance for the win Krause kept the Extreme Efficiency locked in, and it took our contingent of backstage staff (which isn’t really that many) to pull him off (D-) Silver Shark and The Flying Animals beat JD Morgan and The Sneer Corporation in 18.41 when Sharky pinned Deano (C) -Good win for the masked men, and we learnt that The Flying Animals would get another Tag Title shot at Spring Break Bash Chris Rockwell came out with Dream Girl and asked her who was next on her list in The Sneer Corporation. Dream Girl ran off a list of “achievements” (including being a double tag champ by picking a partner much stronger than himself and taking a year off after taking a minor knock in Japan) before announcing his opponent as Scarlett Samurai (C) Chris Rockwell beat Scarlett Samurai by DQ in 15.33 when Krause attacked Rockwell (C+) -I’m glad that this proved to be an excellent match, as the autopush suggests that Scarlett Samurai should be a midcarder, but I’m quite happy for him to disprove this. Rockwell was well on top until Krause hit the ring and locked on the Extreme Efficiency, and I think they might be facing at Spring Break Bash Once more Krause kept the move locked in, but Rockwell was just able to grab the ropes and pull himself out of the ring with Dream Girl’s assistance (D+) Hype time for Troy Tornado – reminding everyone that this was a rematch of the King of the Indies final – a spectacular match where he walked away with the gold, and achievement he wants to get used to (C-) Human Arsenal (c) beat Troy Tornado in 16.24 with an Ammo Dump (B-) -A good, flowing match where both men had their chances. However the key came when Queen Emily distracted the ref and Guide levelled Tornado with a chair, leaving the champion with an easy job to retain his title Tornado slowly recovered and stared daggers at his ex partner, who was still at ringside (C-) Overall Rating C+ And that should be enough for me to win any battle this month. Normally I’d book more matches for Spring Break Bash, but due to a potential contract issue one of two workers may not wrestle, so I only announced two matches. Right, it’s Sammy Bach who will be missing due to CGC commitments. I thought that might be the case – that was the reason for his post match attack. One other worker will be there, but it will be his last show. Electrico is the debut SAISHO champion, defeating Hypnos. Tijuana Vampire re-signs, and it’s make or break time for him for the next nine months. Chris Rockwell signs with NOTBPW, while Giant Redwood claims the vacant HGC World Heavyweight Title in a match with Monty Walker. For some reason they’ve hardly used Eric Tyler this year – methinks they’re dropping the ball. Troy Tornado also re-signs, and I can now announce my next show, or at least four matches of it: Announced for CZCW Spring Break Bash: Plague vs Scarlett Samurai Chris Rockwell vs Sebastian Krause The Sneer Corporation (c) vs The Flying Animals for the SoCal Tag Titles Human Arsenal (c) vs Silver Shark vs Guide vs Troy Tornado for the SoCal Championship

April: Clean sweep in the Regional Battle – can’t complain there. CZCW Spring Break Bash South West (attendance 2,000) Flex, Tijuana Vampire and I, Butcher start off the show, and I begin to think that I need a name for them as that’s a mouthful to type (eh?). This promise to continue to spread destruction (D-) Flex, Tijuana Vampire and I, Butcher beat The Fly Boys and Valiant in 10.43 when Flex pinned Donnie (D+) -Valiant was there to add a different style when the ref lost control and allowed a brawl to develop outside the ring. Inside the ring Flex got the pin with a Romeo is Bleeding. Troy Tornado cuts a promo to say having Guide in the Main Event would help him, as he could keep an eye on his former friend, while also keeping an eye on the gold (C-) Plague beat Scarlett Samurai in 13.35 with a New Jersey Turnpike (C) -A Main Event from last year slips well down the card here. Both men have slightly taken the back seat to other wrestlers, but put on a decent showing here. Plague managed the clean win. Shane Sneer comes out with JD Morgan, telling him to “do a number” on his opponent (D-) JD Morgan beat Electrico in 17.40 with a Cross Atlantic Stretch (C-) -Electrico was given several chances by connecting some high flying moves, but it wasn’t enough, and once in the Stretch was forced to submit With encouragement from Sneer Morgan kept the submission move applied when Mayan Idol re-debuted, hitting the ring and forcing Morgan to release and bail. Yes, I know I sign too many people but looking back at Mayan Idol I realised I had to give him another run (D-) Guide comes out to hype the Main Event, before being cut off by Silver Shark who reminded him that it wasn’t all abut Troy Tornado and Guide – don’t count out the only former champion in the match (D+) The Sneer Corporation (c) beat The Flying Animals in 16.15 when Monkey pinned Fox Mask (C) -Probably the last of The Flying Animals tag shots for now, but certainly another good match. Hell Monkey was booked really strong in this match, and two Hell Fire Kicks did the business Chris Rockwell comes out (as always with Dream Girl at his side) and points out how he’s defeated JD Morgan, got a win over Scarlett Samurai – only Krause stands in the way of the total destruction of The Sneer Corporation (C+) Chris Rockwell beat Sebastian Krause in 22.44 with a Fujiwara Armbar (B-) -Ah good. Despite Krause’s less than impressive showings we built this one up as Rockwell’s biggest match in CZCW, and it delivered. A crowd usually into high flying action ate up the superb technical encounter, and Rockwell got his third win Queen Emily brought out Human Arsenal and declared that despite the odds being stacked against him, he would prove himself better than the might of three people combined (D-) Human Arsenal (c) beat Silver Shark, Guide and Troy Tornado in 22.45 when Arsenal pinned Silver Shark (B) -Guide joins the B club, and we’re getting consistent superb results from the Main Event – showing it is definitely the place for Human Arsenal. Troy Tornado hit the Star Maker on Silver Shark but was then Guided Missiled through the ropes to the floor outside the ring. That allowed Human Arsenal to pick up Silver Shark and hit the Ammo Dump, once more retaining the SoCal Championship Overall Rating C+ I would have liked that to be a B- show, but hope it’ll be good enough to beat AAA this month. Considering the Main Event was my best ever match booked, I sincerely hope so. The man who is leaving is Silver Shark, who once more proved to be a pain in negotiations and I refused to give him a title run. I probably should have relented to keep him for another nine months as he’s come into his own recently, but it was not to be. We would welcome him back, but would not be surprised if he added to his RPW and WLW commitments to make that impossible. Yes, we resigned Mayan Idol. Let’s say he’s a replacement for Silver Shark. As if I needed one. Sammy Bach wrestled for CGC – and took a punch from The Natural that gave him a fantastic looking shiner. No long term damage, hopefully. AAA run a “C” rated show. Excellent. Plague signs a new deal. Alex Pierce retires so SWF re-sign Eric Tyler in a good move. Not as if HGC ever seemed to want to make him champion. And BHOTWG sign… who? *!@K! Time for an impromptu mini tour.
The best match is a 4 way? Looks like with a bit of luck and chemistry you can get B+s and As. Good job on beating AAA this month. And that card probably would have been a B- if the tag title match was the opener.
Alex Braun and Silver Shark can reach B+ for RPW. Just not me :( CZCW This Is How We Do It New England (attendance 30) Snap Dragon beat Matt Sparrow in 9.04 with a Dragon’s Breath (D+) Electrico beat Hell Monkey in 11.33 with an Electric Shock (D-) -Didn’t click Mayan Idol beat Deano Machino in 9.23 after botched Monkey interference (D) Human Arsenal (c) beat Flex in 16.01 with an Ammo Dump (C+) Overall Rating C- We really do spoil those 30 people who bother to show up. Moe in 6.47 with a Braun Damage (D) After the match Alex Braun claimed that the Sneer Corporation were falling apart, which Shane Sneer came out to refute, claiming that the tag champions would prove The Corporation is as strong as ever by retaining their titles over the home favourites next (E+) Team Mexico (Mayan Idol and Electrico) beat The Sneer Corporation (c) in 15.47 to win the SoCal Tag Titles when Idol pinned Monkey (C-) After the match there was celebrations for the new champions (C-), and huge arguments from the losers, that ended in physicality and an impromptu match (E-) Deano Machino beat Hell Monkey in 10.53 with a Cradle Piledriver after Shane Sneer attacked Hell Monkey (C-) Dark Nightmare beat Valiant & Pecs in 10.33 when Tij pinned Pecs (D+) Plague beat Scarlett Samurai in 17.05 after Hell Monkey interfered (C-) Machino came out after Hell Monkey but was met with a Hell Fire Kick, before Monkey grabbed a mic and Shane Sneer by the throat. Monkey declared that he couldn’t believe he ever worked for a man as dishonourable as Sneer. He said that he’s leaving for the land of honour (Japan), and would come back – but not until Shane Sneer had left CZCW for good (E-) Overall Rating D+ Yep, Hell Monkey’s gone to BHOTWG to join Tayler Morton. And as I didn’t trust his match with Deano Machino I ended up misordering the event quite badly, so the Tag Title change wasn’t given the prominence it should have done. Mayan Idol did ask for a title run, and he and Electrico were planned to take the titles off the Corporation – but probably in about three months time. Ernie Turner joins SWF. Not hugely remarkable, but it’s amazing to see how he’s become a tag team specialist. He’s held 5 different titles in five different promotions – and they’re all tag titles. He partnered Roger Dodger in AMW and NEW, Rick Sanders in PPPW (where they are current champions), Genghis Rahn in SCCW and Mr Lucha in HGC. One would assume that SWF are looking to put in a tag team somewhere. I, Butcher and Valiant both join HGC. We let Whippy the Clown leave, but will look at him again in nine months when he returns from his serious back injury. Announced for CZCW Surf Slam: Troy Tornado and ??? vs Guide and ???
The AI cheats. AI RPW gets B+s with Steve and Brent from the beginning, but can I? NO!
I wouldn't go that far. I'd say that the AI does an exceptional job of managing momentum (mainly simply by running very few momentum damaging angles), which most people (like me) damage almost irreversibly from the off.

May: Another clean sweep of the Regional Battle. Pity I’m less then five months away from failing my critical cash goal. However, as long as I keep Cliff happy I reckon I might just hang in there *fingers crossed* Silver Shark gets a development deal with NEW, which I never saw coming. Still, he had some good matches at CZCW. AAA run a B- rated show, and I can tell you no we wont match that. Electrico joins OLLIE, ditching SAISHO. Now his lowest priority – CZCW. CZCW Surf Slam South West (attendance 2,000) Alex Braun beat American Elemental in 7.07 with a Braun Damage (C-) -Braun returned to the South West after a couple of months away, and picked up a clean victory while giving Elemental a chance to show off his skills Chris Rockwell and Dream Girl joined Alex Braun, and declared that they’d challenged what’s left of the Sneer Corporation to a 4 vs 4 elimination match next month – and if the Sneer Corporation lost, they would break up (C) Sebastian Krause beat Fox Mask in 5.07 with Extreme Efficiency (C) -At last – this is what we’re paying Krause for Shane Sneer took the mic and called his troops out. As they lined up he said he had every belief that his troops would win next month. However, he would only accept on one condition – if his Corporation won, Chris Rockwell would have to leave CZCW (D) We’ll have to wait for an answer to that one as Troy Tornado and Guide came out, revealing their mystery partners to be Plague and I, Butcher (D+) Troy Tornado and Plague beat Guide and I, Butcher in 12.44 when Tornado pinned Butcher (C) -This show’s showing some all round strength, although we’ll have to see what happens with the next two matches. Guide and I, Butcher were a wild team but showed little teamwork, which is what allowed Tornado to isolate Butcher for the Star Maker Sammy Bach came out and took a mic, declaring that if there was a team taking on The Sneer Corporation next month, he wanted in (C-) Sammy Bach beat Scarlett Samurai in 14.06 with a Back on Your Back (C-) -Sammy Bach proved his credentials by defeating the only former SoCal Champion in the Sneer Corporation in a hard fought contest We thought we’d better flash up Team Mexico winning the tag titles on Mexico for those that hadn’t heard (D) Team Mexico (c) beat More Problems in 7.47 when Idol pinned Sparrow (D+) -An odd choice for first defence – purely because I’m letting Matt Sparrow leave tomorrow Chris Rockwell came out and joined Team Mexico, saying that although he appreciated Sammy Bach’s offer, Team Mexico have shown the unity required, and will make up the rest of his team next month. He went on to say that it would only seem fair that if his job was on the line next month – so was Shane Sneers (C) Chris Rockwell beat Deano Machino in 13.41 by DQ (C+) -With Hell Monkey leaving there was another member of the Corporation that Rockwell had not faced, and Machino put up a good fight here. It looked to be in a losing battle, and ended up with Sneer calling out Krause and Samurai to attack Rockwell. Impressive match. Team Mexico and Alex Braun ran out from the back to help Rockwell, and The Corporation were quick to back off (D) Sammy Bach surprisingly came out to join commentary for the Main Event. He announced that as Morgan was involved in the Elimination Match next month there would only be a SoCal Championship match if Human Arsenal won. Queen Emily has said that match is his, and he was going to keep an eye on things to ensure this match is fair and square (D+) Human Arsenal (c) beat JD Morgan in 18.01 with an Ammo Dump (B-) -Decent technical match, and Sammy Bach proved a good enforcer, intercepting Deano Machino when he came out. Back in the ring Arsenal continued on in his unbeatable form, hitting the Ammo Dump for the win Overall Rating C+ As mentioned, Matt Sparrow is allowed to leave. The roster needs trimming, and E.M.M. Moe can probably be fearful when his contract is up. Barry Bowen joins SWF! Fantastic. The train’s had a good run in NOTBPW and CGC – let’s see if he can do it on the biggest stage of them all. He’s joined by BLZ Bubb (who will keep his Angel of Death moniker from 4C) as SWF go large. American Elemental gets a large raise thanks to his Japanese work. I’ll have to either start to use him properly or think about cutting him. Tag Champion Electrico also re-signs. My toughness goal is over – now psychology. No problems with that one. Announced for CZCW May We Entertain You? Valiant vs I, Butcher in a hardcore match The Flying Animals vs The Fly Boys vs Dark Nightmare Troy Tornado vs Guide Chris Rockwell, Alex Braun and Team Mexico vs Sebastian Krause, JD Morgan, Scarlett Samurai and Deano Machino Human Arsenal (c) vs Sammy Bach for the SoCal Championship

I did do a review of my signings, so I suppose I should look at those that I started with: Alex Braun (74-4-19) – CZCW veteran who I believed held the SoCal Championship when I took over, but in reality beat Ota for it on my first show. Solid, but can’t be described as spectacular as has only once hit “B-“ (in a match involving 3 other solid talents). Turned heel, won another title (he’s had 5 SoCal reigns in his career), joined the Sneer Corporation, feuded with Sammy Bach, turned face, joined with Bach against the Corporation. Needs a kickstart to his career, but still holding onto his Main Event slot. Also held RPW world title where he annoyingly had a “B+” rated match with Silver Shark. CZCW Rating – B Fumihiro Ota (9-4) – Never recognised by me as champion when I arrived he floated around beating jobbers and losing to Main Eventers. Just as I was about t push him back into the title picture he fell out with Cliff Anderson and that was it for his CZCW career. Steady record at HGC, is having his best matches for NOTBPW. CZCW Rating – C+ Silver Shark (52-1-28) – The only man I ever had problems in negotiations, which is why he got his King of the Indies win in 1998. Did manage a short title reign but only as a transitional champ, and started to have some top notch matches as his career ran out. Then he asked for another title reign, and I was not to give it to him. Now an SWF worker, it’ll be interesting to see if there’s an Underwater Union of some variety. CZCW Rating – B- Tayler Morton (62-3-21) – a bit of a favourite, who got a lengthy title reign early on. Like Braun he lacked in standout matches, but I always believed they would come, perhaps when he got to don the Acid mask. He never did, joining BHOTWG where he gets occasional Junior Title shots CZCW Rating – B Human Arsenal (57-21) – misused some of the time – his technical style and lack of charisma has held him back. However, has been fantastic in the ring, especially since 2001. Narrowly missed out on the King of the Indies, but deserved his current SoCal Championship run with Queen Emily at his side. Despite work at PPPW and SCCW has only had this one piece of gold CZCW rating – B+ Nathan Priest (37-1-42) – lost a lot when I took over, but finally started to turn things round after becoming Whippy the Clown. Had his best run in an unofficial team with Tayler Morton, but it all went wrong when first Morton left, and then he seriously injured his back. He’ll be re-evaluated next year to see if he’s ready for a return to CZCW, and has interestingly had a BBW World Title run. CZCW Rating – C Dog Fyte (18-1-18) – underused as a) his brawling style didn’t quite fit and b) he’s an idiot. Had his best run in a short lived trio with Troy Tornado and Guide. Now at GCG where he’s annoyingly having a decent Tag Title run with Kimitada Ohishi. CZCW Rating – D+ Troy Tornado (59-1-30) – destined for great things? Hard to say – he’s got all the skills but isn’t pushed by HGC, and has struggled to gain a significant amount of popularity. Good success with Guide as a Tag Team, but now his partner seems to be all that is stopping him winning the SoCal Championship. CZCW Rating – B+ The Gilbert Brothers (combined 26-1-48) – On the plus side they held the Tag Titles for over a year. On the down side they lost it as soon as I had a tag division, and then became surplus to requirements, and now work the independents. CZCW Rating – D Clark Alexander (10-21) – another who struggled because of his style, he never beat anyone of note but never looked too bad lying down. His use didn’t justify his pay, and he now works for HGC and LAW. CZCW Rating – D+ Flex (31-49) – initially he and Pecs were the only competition to The Gilbert Brothers – and they still never won the title. Bad start. Since then he’s joined up with first Tijuana Vampire and now I, Butcher, and never disappoints. I could even see a singles title reign in a few years, if he’s around (although he’s a tag specialist with tag titles for LAW and MPWF). CZCW Rating - C Pecs (24-1-55) – low destiny, no two ways about it. Fans got quickly fed up of seeing him, which is what caused the break up of Flex & Pecs. He still has good skills so looks destined for the Tag Division, however his team with Valiant rarely shows up. CZCW Rating – D+ Chris Perkins (8-2-51) – jobbed a lot, before finally forming a promising team with Primal Rage. However, when Primal Rage was accidentally allowed to leave Perkins soon followed him,as although solid he was just going back to his jobbing ways. Now trying out a new gimmick for TEIR-1 that looks interesting… CZCW Rating – D Tate Lyall (1-5) failed Cliff’s toughness test, and did little to encourage me to bring him back. Works the indies. CZCW Rating – E- Enrique Sanchez (0-31) uninspiring solid, so eventually allowed to leave. I’ve looked at bringing him back, but now he wants travelling expenses, and he’s not getting them. CZCW Rating – E+ Flying Jimmy Foxx (1-29) solid, but another to fail the toughness test. I’d bring him back, but Cliff likes his toughness goal so there seems little point as there’s a decent talent pool out there CZCW Rating – D-

June: AAA run a C rated event. And I seemed to have misbooked by a day, so have no Flex or Plague for tonight’s show. Next month with have the King of the Indies, which Plague will take part in. He would have let you know during the show if he’d have been there. Dark Nightmare won’t be in the tag match… which they were going to win, and I’ve already booked them for a title shot at King of the Indies. Let’s try and explain that. CZCW May We Entertain You? South West (attendance 2,000) American Elemental beat Pecs and E.M.M. Moe in 9.14 when he pinned Moe (D) -E.M.M. was meant to job to Plague, but American Elemental filled in. Pecs, as the only man available not wrestling tonight, was also added to the match Alex Braun came out to apologise to Sammy Bach that he hadn’t been included in the Elimination Match later, but Bach came out to say that he was more than happy with his title shot, and would prove himself (D+) I, Butcher beat Valiant in 8.05 in a hardcore match (D-) -Officially my first ever hardcore match – it only took three and a half years. We didn’t know how the crowd would react so kept it to the basics – chairs, trashcans, stop signs. A You, Victim onto a trash can brought up the win for I, Butcher Shane Sneer came out with his Corporation to rally them. He said it would be unacceptable for him to have to leave because their actions, but he would enjoy seeing them cause Rockwell’s downfall (D-) The Flying Animals drew with The Fly Boys and The Biggz Boyz in 15.00 when the time limit expired (C-) -Surprisingly good match, and we’ll explain the unusual finish next… Tijuana Vampire came out to mock the three teams not being able to come to a finish – that’s why he and Flex have been given the title shot next month (D). As he left an argument broke out between Fox Mask and Snap Dragon, and their opponents had to lead them away separately (D+) Troy Tornado came out and asked Guide why they had to be opponents – they’ve held titles together, and it doesn’t have to be this way. Guide came out to claim he had been abandoned by his glory seeking partner, and declared that it did have to be this way (C-) Troy Tornado beat Guide in 21.24 with a Star Maker (C+) -This match was much closer than their previous encounter before Christmas, full of nearfalls. However, it was Tornado that once more claimed victory, although it did take two Star Makers. Chris Rockwell, Alex Braun, Dream Girl and Team Mexico were out for the elimination match that would decide either Rockwell’s or Sneer’s fate, and for some reason thought that this would be the last we saw of Shane Sneer (C) Chris Rockwell, Alex Braun and Team Mexico beat Sebastian Krause, JD Morgan, Scarlett Samurai and Deano Machino (C+) Chris Rockwell, Alex Braun and Team Mexico defeated Sebastian Krause, JD Morgan, Scarlet Samurai and Deano Machino in 26:52; Eléctrico was eliminated first, then Deano Machino, then Scarlet Samurai, then Sebastian Krause, then Alex Braun, then Mayan Idol, and finally JD Morgan. Shane Sneer argues the call as the crowd chanted at him, before storming away (D) Sammy Bach came out and said that the crowd have had a special match – they’ve seen the end of the Sneer Corporation, and now they would see the end of Human Arsenal’s title reign (D+) Human Arsenal (c) beat Sammy Bach in 13.50 after Queen Emily interfered (C+) -After the epic elimination match we decided to keep this one relatively short, but gave Bach an excuse for the loss after Emily low blowed him Troy Tornado came out and ran through the names of those who would be competing for his King of the Indies title, pointing out how he was not one of them. He reminded Human Arsenal that it was last year when they had the Match of the Year at King of the Indies, and proposed to notch it up a level for this year – a repeat of their battle, for the SoCal Championship, in a ladder match. Human Arsenal nodded, and Emily declared the match on (C-) Overall Rating C Hmm, same grade as AAA, but I think my show was stronger (some of the angles were a little long, but I need to start developing some charisma). We did see the longest match in CZCW history, with Shane Sneer not looking happy that the result forced his exit. We’re also going to have a go next month and see if we can beat our best ever match with Arsenal / Tornado III – the ladder match. And as someone’s leaving: CZCW This Is How We Do It: Mid South (attendance 642) American Elemental beat Jimmy P in 6.29 with an Inferno Splash (D) Dark Nightmare beat E.M.M. Although both over and talented he’s not enough of either to justify his wage. I never even entered into negotiations, as I knew it would be a fruitless experience. This was already decided before the Canadian Six entered wrestling at the beginning of the month, ensuring that the talent pool is well and truly stocked (I know I don’t need to replace him, but…). I, Butcher signs with CGC, while Sammy Bach, Guide, Scarlett Samurai, Brett Biggz and Flex all sign a new deal. A chance to make cuts, and I turn it down.
interesting :) since you're in 2001 i'm curious at the progress of the East Coast War, even if you're obviously not involved ;)
I actually had a massive answer to this typed up, but I typed it straight into this reply and then accidently deleted it. So this'll be a very short summary. PPPW are the diamond of the East Coast, never running a bad show. NYCW, DAVE and XFW fight for second, putting on shows of varying quality. I would go into the wrestlers and champions, but I've already done that (and deleted it), so it may have to wait. The best Regional promotion is SCCW - thanks to be owned by Rip Chord. He's pulled B rated matches out of Big Trouble and Land Mass, and the shows are always worth watching. RPW would happily compete for second in the Tri State Battle if they were in it. LAW run really poor shows, but thanks to being on TV run 5 shows a month, so are growing. The main stars in the East Coast war have HGC TV exposure, such as Savage Fury, Giant Redwood, Joel Bryant and Whistler. I will do a better update sometime. And I'll type it into Word so I wont lose it.
