Anyways take a look. - The WWE website has an update on WWE Champion Jeff Hardy's involvement in a pyrotechnics accident on last night's edition of Friday Night SmackDown. According to the website, Hardy went into shock after suffering what appeared to be first and second degree burns from the explosion. He was then rushed to a local medical facility where he was treated for his injuries. The website will update his situation as more details become available. UkWrestleFan Posted January 19, 2009 Share Posted January 19, 2009 See, this is an interesting angle and certainly seems they're setting up a Christian return but I wish they'd use something like this for Kane to set up a final run as the masked monster Kane They could've tied it in with the Kelly Kelly/Randy Orton thing that was mentioned a few weeks back. Kane is making his way to the ring for a match and his pyro malfuntions and goes off in his face. I think the E has gotten smart enough to plan 'backup' people in storylines -- this is why Mike Knox is bullying Rey now instead of Bourne, Rey was the backup. If something happens to Christian (Training injury, car crash, TNA suddenly offers him more money and a year-long title run), then Matt becomes Jeff's attack and the viewing public never knows the difference. Everyone is going to jump on me for thinking it is.. but the WWE is trying to find new ways to sell a storyline. How best to beat the smarks at their game then using their own weakness to their advantage? Smarks feel that they are on "the inside" of things... by using an angle that seems realistic and true... it makes even those smarks turn into marks and think that there is some truth behind the feud. Just seemed weird that Matt hardy was fired over the ordeal... Does one big promo as a fallen angel for another company and then shockingly resurfaces later to spark a huge feud that got both Edge and Matt Hardy over like crazy. It wasn't one big promo in another fed it was his MySpace Blog which he legit writes in and his personal website. I could be wrong but I don't think I am. I understand the whole money aspect but after WWE dumped him like he is TNA, he talked about how much WWE sucked and how great TNA is. Now that his popularity is back to an average worker and WWE wants him back WHOOP there he goes so long TNA thanks for the career boost! Granted TNA sucks now and I haven't even watched wrestling in 2 months (caught a TNA around Thanksgiving) I would have liked to see someone stick to their guns. I remember when Christian first won the TNA title and all the fans gave him a standing ovation at the bar and he almost broke down in tears.
