WCW 1996: A New World Order

Recommended Posts

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/EricBischoff.jpg

Less than one year ago, Eric Bischoff made a bet. He made a bet with an executive at Turner Sports that WCW would turn a profit and Eric bet on a winner. With Starrcade 1995 in the books, Eric Bischoff has turned a profit with WCW, a company that has lost many since it was purchased by Ted Turner. Ted Turner had given WCW a timeslot on TNT but not just any timeslot. WCW Monday Nitro airs live in prime time on TNT! Along with WCW Saturday Night and The Main Event program, WCW is moving along at a rapid pace. Eric Bischoff has been walking around Turner Broadcasting and CNN Center with a swagger like no other. He is the man who has done the impossible. He turned a profit with a company that used to be the red-headed stepchild and has made everyone a winner. Now he has to keep that up.

But this thought isn't what has Eric Bischoff sitting straight up in his bed beside his wife Loree with a cold sweat. Eric had a dream, a nightmare. It has been said that he cannot turn wrestling off in his head, that he thinks about it 24/7/365. He dreamed of a war, of baseball bats, of a heroic saviour and a hero turned bad. It was a very odd dream but he reached over and grabbed the small pad beside his bed, writing some of the ideas down while his wife asked him to go back to bed. But Eric has to get this down. He has to get it written down while it's still fresh in his mind. A New World Order is coming...

And the re-imagining begins HERE!

From memory, the Turner Executive was a high brow in Finance. The bet was that if Bischoff turned a profit he would give him some nominal money ($1???) and bow down to him. He did it front of the wrestlers at a restaurant, true to his word.

Red-headed step child is exactly how the Bisch describes it in Controversy Creates Ca$h, so that to me says you've done a bit of research on WCW and that means your story should be interesting.

Good luck.

MAIN EVENT!

WCW World Heavyweight Title Match: Ric Flair defends against Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan was just reinstated from his suspension from WCW and goes right for the leader of the Four Horsemen and the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair! Can Hogan win the World Title on his first match back or will Ric Flair continue his streak after beating Randy Savage at Starrcade for the WCW World Title.

Lord Steven Regal vs. Chris Benoit

Two technical artists go one on one here as Lord Steven Regal takes on the Crippler Chris Benoit. Here at WCW, we star athletes, WRESTLERS, not entertainers!

Sting and Lex Luger vs. Men At Work

A top contending team for the WCW World Tag Team Titles, Sting and Lex Luger in action here tonight against the Men At Work: Chris Kanyon and Mark Starr. Can the younger duo pick up an upset over the top contenders? Will Sting and Lex Luger have any more communication problems after their problems at Starrcade 1995?

Arn Anderson vs. Randy Savage

Randy Savage blames Arn Anderson for him losing the WCW World Title and with good reason. Anderson gave Flair the brass knucks that he used to beat Savage. The Macho Man demanded and was given this revenge match against Anderson.

Arn Anderson - I love the Enforcer, even though I'm a mad fan of Macho Man. I just feel Savage, who from memory was a babyface WCW loyalist at the time needs to suffer another decidedly controversial loss to get the veins pumping for the madness to truly erupt.

Sting and Lex Luger - I'd like to see it build to some dissension, but ultimately Sting and Luger always seemed to hold true, except for when Sting turned crow-Sting. Kanyon is a great prospect, Mark Starr not so, and that will ultimately lead to misery for that team.

Steven Regal - Benoit is relatively new to WCW at this stage. I still remember his introduction actually, where he gets out of a limo and goes "WCW...where the big boys play". Benoit needs to get close, so you can feel he's so close but so far, but I think Regal at this stage is grossly underutilised and capable of going higher in the card. Benoit is probably 4-5 months off truly exploding.

Hulk Hogan by DQ - Something though has to happen, if you're priming for the nWo, and I'd assume you'd go with Hogan which ultimately is the right thing because truthfully Hogan did need a change at that time in his career, you need to have him frustrated. There needs to be some catalyst for the heel turn. Is it that he gets screwed out and he doesn't gain the empathy he should from the fans? Does that mean deep down he feels they've sold out on him to the franchise of WCW, but ultimately still the dirtiest player in the game?

Just some thoughts, I'm extremely keen to see this progress. It was a golden era where the likes of Eddie Guerrero, the Giant and Diamond Dallas Page truly exploded onto the scene. Nitro was supposed to be a show where it was constant excitement, arced storylines and constant surprise blurring reality and the showmanship of professional wrestling. Truthfully, I believe Bischoff did a very fine job around this era in providing those elements, including the masterstrokes of having himself and Hogan join the Outsiders, so I'll be very iinterested to see how you go. I can't wait also to hear you have Bischoff give away the results of the pre-taped RAW, which as we know infuriated the WWF which made it even more beautiful :D

Can't wait, like everyone is saying the 90's were the best wrestling when it comes to soap opera style that America had ever seen, it's a shame that TNA hasn't been able to produce a show that hits 2.0 or higher because I would love to see another promotional war, and I think it would help the WWE, I am tired of all this bull crap hey we are for the little fans crap, I mean I understand that you need to keep bringing in new fans but I grew up during the attitude era and all I can think about is people be crucified and beaten in boiler rooms.

Sorry about the ramble, good luck

WCW MONDAY NITRO!

Monday Week 1 January 1996

Location: Rupp Arena, Lexington Kentucky

Attendance: 25,303

Overall Rating: C+

TV Rating: 4.59

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/EricBischoff.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/BobbyHeenan.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/SteveMcMichael.jpg

[Following the opening video, the cameras focus in on the announcer's booth.]

Eric Bischoff

"Hello everyone and WELCOME to the fastest hour in television: WCW Monday Nitro! I'm Eric Bischoff alongside Bobby The Brain Heenan and Steve Mongo McMichael and gentlemen we have got a spectacular card for everyone tonight, including a revenge match and a WCW World Heavyweight Title match!"

Bobby Heenan

"I don't see how this is fair to Flair! It's ridiculous! Why does that no-good lousy Hogan get a WCW World Title shot?"

Steve McMichael

"Now, you just hold up there a minute, Brain. Hulk Hogan is one of the most known names in our sport. If he doesn't deserve a title shot then who does?"

Bobby Heenan

"Nobody tonight..."

Eric Bischoff

"Yeah but it's going to happen. Just like we're going to see the Macho Man Randy Savage get his hands on the man he blames for him losing the WCW World Title to Ric Flair: Arn Anderson."

[2001: A Space Oddysey begins to play in the background.]

Eric Bischoff

"Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like we're going to kick things off tonight with some words from our new World Heavyweight Champion. Let's head on up to the ring and find out what he has to say."

[The focus shifts to the ring where Ric Flair is standing with his usual robe on and the WCW World Title belt underneath the robe.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/RicFlairWorldChamp.jpg

Ric Flair

"Lexington Kentucky there's a party going on right here tonight. Whooooo! All the champagne is on ice and the girls are getting hotter and hotter and in just about an hour the Four Horsemen will be riding as high as we have always been. Tonight, Arn Anderson is going to finish off the Macho Punk. Hey Randy look at what I got! Whooooo!"

[Ric holds up the WCW World Title for the camera to zoom in on.]

Ric Flair

"This is why I am better than you, Macho Man. But Arn's going to take care of you. Tonight is about two men that the world over know as the two legends in our sport. One of them is actually a never-was because he never was the NWA World Champion. The other is a 12 time heavyweight Champion of the World who has kissed all the girls and made them cry. Whooooo! Hulk Hogan, you are looking at the man whose credentials are unlimited. You are looking at the best wrestler in the world today. And tonight when you walk that aisle against me you're going to learn that I mean it when I say to be the man Whooooo! you have to beat the man!"

[2001 starts up again and a smiling, confident Ric Flair slides out of the ring and heads toward the back.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/ArnAnderson.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/RandySavage1.jpg

Arn Anderson vs. Randy Savage

The Macho Man came into this one looking for revenge and attacked Anderson as soon as he hit the ring! Unfortunately the timing of some of the spots was off in this match, showing some bad chemistry between these two but they definitely made up for it. Anderson slowing the match down with several armbars and other restholds while Savage tried to pick up the pace. Anderson knocked Savage into the referee at one point and Randy Anderson went down to the mat. Savage turned his attention back to Arn and Arn caught him with a rake of the eyes. Arn moved over into a corner and pulled out a pair of brass knuckles, sliding them over his hand.

Arn Anderson turned back toward Savage and swung --- DUCKED!! Savage lifts Anderson up --- ATOMIC DROP! The knucks go flying up in the air and Savage grabs them, sliding them on his hand. The crowd goes wild for Savage as he gains their support but Arn sees the referee getting back up so he drops on the mat like someone shot him! Randy Anderson turns and sees the brass knuckles on Randy Savage's hand! Savage's eyes go wide as Randy Anderson looks down at Arn and then back up at Savage and questions him for a moment about using the brass knucks. Then he calls for the bell, disqualifying Randy Savage!

Winner: Arn Anderson by DQ

Match Rating: B-

[Following the match, Randy Savage grabbed Randy Anderson by the head as Arn rolled out of the ring and headed to the back! Savage punches Randy Anderson with the brass knucks and then moves to the corner! Officials come out quickly, pleading with Savage! Savage finally drops down as cooler heads prevail and he shakes his head, moving toward the back.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/EricBischoff.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/BobbyHeenan.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/SteveMcMichael.jpg

Eric Bischoff

"Fans, I just got an exclusive here tonight. A major match has been signed for next week's Nitro! No matter what happens here tonight, Randy Savage will be teaming with Hulk Hogan to take on Ric Flair and Arn Anderson! What a blockbuster!"

Bobby Heenan

"Savage is a lunatic! He needs to be locked up! Did you see the way he used those brass knuckles against Arn Anderson?"

Steve McMichael

"Will you quit it, Brain? He didn't use those knucks against Arn. But he's gonna be paying a heavy fine for using them on Randy Anderson."

Eric Bischoff

"That is definitely certain, Mongo. Let's head up to the ring for our next bout, featuring two men who have been having some issues here lately in Sting and Lex Luger."

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/Sting2-1.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/LexLuger.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/ChrisKanyon.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/MarkStarr.jpg

Sting and Lex Luger vs. Men At Work

This was about like everyone expected it to be. Sting and Luger squashing the Men At Work. Lex Luger dominated the work inside the ring for his team and had an argument with Sting about even tagging out to him. But once Sting tagged in he shone as well. He hit Mark Starr with the Stinger Splash and then the Scorpion Deathlock. Chris Kanyon came in for the save but was taken down by a Lex Luger clothesline and then given the Human Torture Rack! Both Kanyon and Starr gave in at the same time!

Winners: Sting and Lex Luger

Match Rating: D

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/RoadwarriorAnimal.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/RoadwarriorHawk.jpg

[A music video begins to play, hyping the return of one of the best tag teams of the 1980's and 1990's: The Road Warriors! They will be reuniting and coming back to WCW within the next few weeks!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/StevenRegal.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/ChrisBenoit.jpg

Lord Steven Regal vs. Chris Benoit

This was a very good back and forth technical contest. It seemed that each man did their scouting well as even the audience had to applaud the holds and counterholds that each man did to keep the other off-guard. Benoit missed on a diving headbutt, giving Regal the opportunity he needed. Regal hit the Regal Suplex (Exploder Suplex) and got the pinfall on Benoit.

Winner: Lord Steven Regal

Match Rating: C

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/GeneOkerlund.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/BrianPillmanIV.jpg

[inside the ring, Gene Okerlund steps inside to a fair amount of crowd noise.]

Gene Okerlund

"Hello everyone and welcome back to WCW Monday Nitro! I'm Gene Okerlund and tonight my guest at this time is a member of the Four Horsemen. Please welcome Flyin Brian Pillman!"

[The crowd booed Pillman when he came out and he yelled right back at them, sticking four fingers up in several crowd members' faces! The crowd yelled back at him and he finally entered the ring and made faces at Gene Okerlund, grabbing the microphone.]

Brian Pillman

"Have you got a hotline tip for me yet, Gene? Have you done that part of the show? I'll tell you what, everyone call the WCW Hotline and listen to ole Mean Gene Okerlund here and he'll tell you everything that you can already find out on the internet!"

[Pillman laughs in Gene's face and looks toward the crowd, stepping out and getting into an argument with someone at ringside! Pillman pulls the fan over the top of the barricade and kicks him several times as security comes running over, grabbing Pillman and dragging him to the back. Your main event is next!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/RicFlairWorldChamp.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/HulkHogan.jpg

WCW World Heavyweight Title Match

Ric Flair defends against Hulk Hogan

The fans were on their feet in anticipation of this match! Ric Flair was accompanied to the ring by Arn Anderson and Hogan came out alone. Hogan dominated the early-goings of the match but some well-timed interference by Anderson allowed Flair to take the advantage and focus his attention on the legs of the Hulkster. Flair rammed Hogan's knee against the ringpost and continued an assault during the middle-late parts of the match, dropping a knee across Hogan's forehead and doing a little strut for the crowd. Flair made a cover after that..

1...

2...

HUGE KICKOUT!!!

Hogan gets up on his knees, shaking his head! He's Hulking Up! Hogan shrugs off any punches by Flair and gets to his feet, pointing at the Nature Boy and then waving his finger in the air! He blocks a punch and throws several to Flair's face backing him into the ropes. He whips Flair in --- BIG BOOT!!! Hogan bounces off the ropes --- TRIPPED BY ANDERSON! Arn Anderson slides in and puts the boots to Hogan, causing a DQ!

Winner: Hulk Hogan by DQ

Match Rating: B

[Arn helps Flair up and they join together putting the boots to Hulk Hogan! But here comes the Macho Man! Randy Savage heads right down to the ring with a steel chair in hand! He jumps inside, swinging for the fences as Flair and Anderson dive out of the ring to keep from getting hit. Hulk slowly begins to move toward his feet and he taps Savage on the shoulder. Savage swings the chair around and clocks Hogan with it! The Macho Man stands over Hogan's fallen body and also stares down the Horsemen as the show comes to a close! What in the world just happened?!?!]

Ah 1996 WCW, this is where I really started getting into wrestling, only being a casual fan at best before then. Anyway, predictions.

Big Bubba Rogers vs. Randy Savage

-Savage is in the main event scene and if I remember correctly, Bubba is feuding with Hacksaw Jim Duggan around this time period in a series of riveting taped fist matches. So I'm going to have to go with the Macho Man.

Eddy Guerrero vs. The Gambler

-As much as I mark out for the Gambler, this one goes to Eddy.

WCW World Television Title Match: Johnny B. Badd defends vs. Dave Taylor

-Johnny wins.

Chris Kanyon vs. Alex Wright

-Alex Wright gets the win but a good showing from Kanyon will give him a solid foundation to build his singles career.

Cobra vs. Lex Luger

-Luger wins with the Torture Rack.

The Giant vs. Jim Duggan

-The Giant is the unstoppable monster around this time that even gave Hogan some headaches. So he rolls over Duggan easily

Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman vs. The American Males

-Should be a fun tag team match but the Horsemen reign supreme

Sting vs. Earl Robert Eaton

-Sting triumps over the Duke of Bob(tm. Dusty Rhodes, all rights reserved), but it doesn't end without a fight.

[inside the arena, the focus turns to the announcers: Lee Marshall and The American Dream Dusty Rhodes!]

Lee Marshall

"Hello everyone and welcome to WCW Saturday Night. I'm Lee Marshall alongside Dusty Rhodes and tonight Dusty we are going to have some great matches."

Dusty Rhodes

"Leeeee Marshall! We're here on tha Muthaship WCW Saturday Night and what a great main event we have tonight as the Stinger takes on that dastardly Earl of Eaton, Robert Eaton."

Lee Marshall

"Indeed, Dusty. But let's head up to the ring for our opening bout..."

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/BigBubbaRogers.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/RandySavage1.jpg

Big Bubba Rogers vs. Randy Savage

A great opening bout here as these two had some pretty good chemistry inside the ring. It went back and forth until Savage sent Rogers down and went up top, hitting the Flying Elbowdrop! Savage made a cover and got the pinfall.

Winner: Randy Savage

Match Rating: B

[The crowd stirred when Savage got up as Hulk Hogan walked out from the back and headed right down to the ring, climbing inside. He got up in Savage's face for a moment and they exchanged some comments off-microphone before they shook hands and posed for the crowd. It looks like things are all well in the Hogan/Savage camp!]

Eddy Guerrero vs. The Gambler

Eddy came out and then The Gambler came out throwing cards to the ringside fans. The crowd really didn't seem to care for this match though it was mostly dominated by Guerrero. Eddy looked pretty good out there and finished off The Gambler with a Gory Special and a submission win.

Winner: Eddy Guerrero

Match Rating: D-

WCW World Television Title Match

Johnny B. Badd defends vs. Dave Taylor

A halfway decent TV Title defense here though Squire David Taylor seemed off his game tonight. Kimberly Page was at ringside for Johnny B. Badd. She helped urge her man on to victory when Johnny hit a Shooting Star Press to get the pinfall on Taylor.

Winner: Johnny B. Badd

Match Rating: D+

[Following the match, Diamond Dallas Page appeared out of nowhere, sliding inside the ring and pushing Kimberly out of the way! Johnny turned and DDP hit the Diamond Cutter on him! Page made the symbol for the bang and then looked at Kimberly before dropping and rolling out of the ring, heading for the back with a smile as Kimberly checked on Johnny.]

Chris Kanyon vs. Alex Wright

One half of the Men At Work here, Chris Kanyon, put up a pretty good fight against Das Wunderkind. Alex Wright though was the focus of the match and he dropped Kanyon with a Hangman's Neckbreaker for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Alex Wright

Match Rating: D

[A graphic was put up on the screen, showing a new match scheduled for the Clash of the Champions: Harlem Heat defending their WCW World Tag Team Title belts against Sting and Lex Luger!]

Cobra vs. Lex Luger

As most people would predict, Luger dominated the bout and a lot of the time was spent by the commentators speaking about the WCW World Tag Team Titles match coming up at the Clash. Luger signalled for it and then lifted Cobra into the Human Torture Rack and got the submission victory.

Winner: Lex Luger

Match Rating: C-

[Following the match, Harlem Heat came out from the back and blasted Luger with their belts! They gave some stomps to Luger and then headed to the back with smiles on their faces and Luger had to be helped to the back.]

The Giant vs. Jim Duggan

The Giant came out with Jimmy Hart and Duggan came out with his 2X4. Duggan got the U.S.A. chant going with the crowd and stepped right up to The Giant! Duggan got in a few blows that The Giant shrugged off! The Giant stepped into control and didn't look back until he dropped Duggan with a Choke Slam and put his boot on Duggan's chest for the pinfall win.

Winner: The Giant

Match Rating: C-

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/wcw96/Sting.jpg

[backstage, the focus turns to Sting.]

Sting

"Harlem Heat, you made a BIG mistake attacking Lex Luger earlier tonight and you're going to pay for that. But tonight I have Earl Robert Eaton. Bobby, you've been around for a long long time but right now you're hanging around with the wrong people. You've changed into one of the bad guys and tonight I'm going to show you why that's a mistake. And if anyone doubts where the Stinger is coming from anymore? Well, you're going to find out just where the Stinger is coming from. I'm on the side of the Macho Man, the Hulkster, Lex Luger and all these little Stingers all around the World. So hang by me and we're gonna go straight to the top. OWWWWW!"

Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman vs. The American Males

A decent tag team match here. Anderson and Pillman used some good double teams on the American Males but Bagwell and Riggs started coming back when Brian Pillman dropped off the apron to yell at some fans! Anderson fought back though and then ran his thumb across his throat, hitting Bagwell with a DDT and then making the pinfall.

Winners: Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman

Match Rating: C+

[After the match, Anderson furrowed his eyebrows and went outside the ring, grabbing Pillman and pulling him to the back.]

Sting vs. Earl Robert Eaton

And it's main event time here as Sting takes on Earl Robert Eaton. Lord Steven Regal came out to ringside with Eaton and made an occassional attack on Sting when Sting was tossed outside the ring. Eaton went up top looking for the Alabama Jam but Sting moved out of the way! Sting took the advantage here and clobbered Eaton with rights and lefts. He sent Eaton into the corner --- STINGER SPLASH!!! Sting releases an 'OWWWWW!' to the crowd and then locked on Scorpion Deathlock! Harlem Heat has come out from the back and is headed toward the ring. But Eaton gives up!

Winner: Sting

Match Rating: C+

[Harlem Heat slide into the ring and clubber Sting from behind. Booker T goes up top and hits a Missle Dropkick! They put their belts in Sting's face and we're out of time!]

The Nasty Boys vs. The State Patrol

A showcase match for the Nasty Boys here against The State Patrol. It's been a long time since The State Patrol has won any matches. Lt. James Earl Wright went for a Pit Stop on Knobbs' armpit then Knobbs hit a Running Powerslam followed by a diving elbow drop by Saggs, the move called a Trip To Nastyville and Knobbs made the cover getting the three count.

Winners: The Nasty Boys

Match Rating: D+

[Another music video shown to promote the return of the Road Warriors to WCW! Animal and Hawk should be returning very soon to an arena near you.]

Mr. JL vs. Dean Malenko

A very good Cruiserweight affair here with JL using some high flying moves and Malenko working to ground JL. The second-generation wrestler stood out as looking good inside the ring and he was able to lock on the Texas Cloverleaf for the submission win.

Winner: Dean Malenko

Match Rating: C-

[A pre-taped interview began to play with Ric Flair standing in front of a generic background.]

Ric Flair

"Oh Lord it's hard to be humble when you're the WCW World Heavyweight Champion! Whooooo! This Monday night on Nitro myself and my partner Double A, the Enforcer are gonna step into the ring and watch Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage walk that aisle! Savage, I'm looking forward to beating you in particular again and again and again. Whooooo! But we have a little surprise lined up for you on Nitro. A little Horsemen surprise for the Macho Man. Just remember, Savage, you put one of ours in the hospital, we'll put two of yours in the morgue. Whoooo!"

Loch Ness vs. Craig Pittman

The Pitbull Craig Pittman is one tough guy but even he looks small compared to the 600 pound Loch Ness! The crowd really didn't care for this match though but Jimmy Hart did his best at ringside to get them fired up. Loch Ness dropped a big elbow on Pittman and pinned him for the win.

Winner: Loch Ness

American Males vs. Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater

Col. Robert Parker escorted down Bunkhouse Buck and Dirty Dick Slater for this match against the American Males. It was your classic case of power vs. speed in this one with the American Males doing their best to keep Buck and Slater off balance while Buck and Slater slowed down the match when they took control. Buck and Col. Robert Parker had some communication issues and this helped Marcus Bagwell hit a Yellow Jacket Suplex for the victory!

Winners: American Males

Match Rating: D

Scott Norton vs. Disco Inferno

Disco danced his way down to the ring but Norton was no-nonsense when he came down for this main event match. These two definitely had a conflict of styles and it led to a couple of botched spots in there that the crowd booed at. Norton was mostly dominant in this one, ending the match with a Shoulder Breaker on Inferno and a pinfall win.

Winner: Scott Norton

Match Rating: D
