WrestleManiac
Welcome To New England http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/NEWminutemancopy.jpg Hello and welcome to Burlington Auditorium for our first ever televised event. We also extend a warm welcome to Len Denton and Iron Mike Sharpe who face off against each other with their debut performances for NEW. After the shocking events at Havoc last week when Buzz Sawyer pinned Bob Orton Jr. in a three way match to win Greg Valentine’s Intercontinental title The Hammer faces Sawyer in a non-title rematch tonight for the sake of pride. Last week also saw Greg Valentine challenge Rowdy Roddy Piper for NEW World Heavyweight title which he also lost. Prepare to see the World Heavyweight champion team up with Bob Orton Jr against NEW Tag Team champions The Road Warriors. In The Ladies Division Susan Sexton looks to be preparing to challenge Debbie Combs for the NEW Ladies title with a warm up match against debutant Vicki Williams. Also tonight, Jimmy Valiant will rough it out with Buddy Rose to win a chance to challenge Ricky Steamboat to be the No.1 Contender for the NEW World Heavyweight title. Our other No. 1 Contender match is for the NEW New England title where King Kong Bundy will battle with Magnum T.A. for a shot at the gold! We at NEW hope that you enjoy your evening and we wish all our fighters the best on our historic dawn. G. Harris (NEW OWNER) THE PIPER V VALENTINE STORY http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/RoddyPiper.jpghttp://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/GregValentine.jpg This battle began at Welcome To New England - our first ever show - when Buzz Sawyer fought Roddy Piper in a Steel Cage for the vacant NEW World Heavyweight title. As would be expected from a match featuring Buzz Sawyer the outcome was gruesome as both fighters literally gave a pint of blood for the cause. As Piper began his climb out of the cage Greg Valentine came out ringside and shook the cage. Piper clung on for dear life as the referee dragged Valentine away. Piper’s inaction gave Sawyer time to recover and catch up with the Hot Rod and the conclusion to this tense match became a race and a battle of endurance. It was Roddy Piper who touched the arena floor first and he was none too pleased about the interruption. He launched a tirade of abuse at Greg Valentine stating that the reason he hadn’t got a chance at the title was simply because he was not good enough. He claimed that Valentine would have to do a hell of a lot more than shake a cage to shake the Hot Rod’s grip from the title belt and that he should be content with the Inter-crappy-nental title. It was a month later at NEW Havoc when Roddy Piper joined the announcing team for Greg Valentine’s three way title defence against Buzz Sawyer and Bob Orton jr. All credit to Piper for his level of restraint as he did not interfere with the match and called it like a pro. Yet, this did not stop Valentine from verbally abusing Piper and claiming that he was deliberately distracting Valentine from concentrating on the match. The Hot Rod responded by offering to put his title on the line against Greg Valentine - on the condition that it was that very same night - to prove that The Hammer did not have what it takes. Valentine agreed, adding his own stipulation that it be an alley fight. Piper smiled, responding that it would be like fighting in his own backyard. If the Hot Rod’s match against Buzz Sawyer was a brutal contest then the alley fight was a bloodbath. No rules. Anything goes. And it did. DDT’s on a concrete floor. Dustbin lids and sledgehammers colliding with human skulls. Both men gave it their all until a barely standing Piper managed to lay across a barely conscious Valentine for the 3-count. I’m sorry ladies and gentlemen, but I see no ceasefire for the foreseeable future. I fear this is a war that has just fired it’s first shots. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/piperblood.jpg B. Malenko

WrestleManiac
WELCOME TO NEW ENGLAND http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/NEWminutemancopy.jpg Welcome to the Douglas Everitt Center here in New England. Did you see our debut televised show last week? Wasn’t it great? A big thank you to all the boys and girls for the blood, sweat, and tears that they put in to a fantastic and historical show. What a line up we have for you tonight! We start the action with a tag match between the odd pairing of Buddy Rose and Ricky Steamboat against Jimmy Valiant and the young hopeful - and NEW New England championship contender - King Kong Bundy. After last weeks show there seems to be some tension brewing between Valiant and Steamboat. Greg “The Hammer” Valentine is looking to strategically assault Roddy Piper as he looks takes on the Hot Rod’s tag partner Bob Orton. Can Bob Orton spare his partner’s blushes or will The Hammer smash Orton into oblivion? And for our main event we have a champion vs. champion match as the Intercontinental title holder faces World Heavyweight champion Roddy Piper in a non-title match. Buzz Sawyer looks to prove his title is not inter-crappy-nental while the Hot Rod looks to prove otherwise. G.HARRIS WHO IS THE NO. 1 CONTENDER? http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/BuzzSawyer3.jpg http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/AustinIdol.jpghttp://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/DavidSchults.jpghttp://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/JimDuggan.jpg I asked Buzz Sawyer, the current Intercontinental Champion, who he thought was most deserving of a title shot against him at NEW Pride Of New England in three weeks time. BS: There’s not one guy here who can take this belt from me. I pinned Bob Orton to win this baby off of Greg Valentine who has gone sour over the loss. Valentine’s not worthy of this belt. Orton is not worthy of this belt. Hell, even the Hot Rod Roddy Pipper is not worthy of this belt. I reminded Buzz Sawyer that he hadn’t answered the question and that there was a line of challengers waiting for their shot. In fact Austin Idol, David Shults and Jim Duggan are all eligible for a shot. A further fact is that in the next few weeks we will see the three of them battle in turn to see who is the number one contender. Last week at Burlington Auditorium Austin Idol and David Shults faced off against each other. It was an ugly match with the redneck Shults using a mixture of flying fists and dirty tactics. But Austin Idol had his eyes set on the title shot at NEW Pride Of New England and came back to win the match with a big elbow drop. Tonight will see the heartthrob Austin Idol take on Hacksaw Jim Duggan. D. GRAHAM WRESTLING FROM NEW ENGLAND - LAST WEEKS RESULTS Last weeks show at Burlington Auditorium. What a show! To warm the crowd up we had a couple of dark matches. First was a brutal display of the flying fist as Austin Idol barely managed a victory over David Shults. Then NEW New England champion Ricky Morton cruised to victory over El Hojo del Santo. In the next match Steve Keirn easily crushed David Sammartino. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/BobOrtonJr.jpghttp://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/RoddyPiper.jpghttp://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/RoadWarriorAnimal2.jpghttp://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/RoadWarriorHawk2.jpg New England history was made with our first bout of the night as Roddy Piper and Bob Orton teamed up against NEW Tag Team champions The Road Warriors. Both teams fought well and worked well together but The Road Warriors valiant effort was not enough to win the day as Hawk was pinned by Piper. King Kong Bundy, a promising 25 year old all but destroyed Magnum T.A. as the monster Bundy looks to be charging full steam ahead for a NEW New England title shot. Look out Ricky Morton! Len Denton got the three count over Iron Mike Sharpe. Susan Sexton defeated Vicki Williams in Williams debut match. Jimmy Valiant had a fight on his hands against Buddy Rose and had the added pressure of having Ricky Steamboat sitting with the announcing team. Still, after a hard fought battle the victory went to Jimmy Valiant. After the match Valiant approached Steamboat and demanded to know what he thought he was doing at ringside. Ricky Steamboat claimed he was innocent and was simply co-announcing the match. There followed a tense moment as each competitor stared each other down - the tension only broken by the arrival of Greg Valentine for his rematch against Buzz Sawyer. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/BuzzSawyer3.jpghttp://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/yobnrok/GregValentine.jpg For all his bravado Buzz Sawyer failed to capitalise on the momentum gained by winning the Intercontinental title and lost to Greg Valentine despite Roddy Piper coming out to ringside to watch the match - and, some cynics may say, distract The Hammer. Whatever the Hot Rod’s intention Greg Valentine was not happy with his presence and they started brawling in the arena whre the fight continued backstage. B.
