It has been widely reported that International Sensation Jack Black has become head booker of TNA Wrestling.

It has been suggested that the changes within the company internally will begin at tonight's Impact tapings.

 

One change that has been leaked is that Hector Guerrero will begin colour commentary along with Mike Tenay and Don West.

 

It seems as though Dixie Carter may become an on air figurehead, used as a Personality.

 

The following matches have been confirmed for tonight's Impact taping, to be broadcast on Thursday:

 

TNA Knockouts Champion Awesome Kong versus O.D.B.

TNA Tag Team Champions Beer Money Inc. versus Team 3D

I'm going to focus alot more on TNA in this diary, and hope for it to be a more detailed read.

TNA Impact

Booker T versus Abyss

Hector Guerrero doesn't do as well on commentary as many thought he would, and it lowers the match rating.

Booker T defeated Abyss in 17:40 by pinfall with a handful of tights.

Match Rating: B

 

Matt Morgan comes to the ring and helps Abyss to his feet, and tells the crowd that the pair will win the Tag Team titles at Against All Odds.

Rating: C-

 

TNA X Division Championship: Alex Shelley © versus AJ Styles

AJ does some great mat wrestling and kicks on Shelley but can't put the Champion away.

Alex Shelley beat AJ Styles in 4:11 by pinfall

Match Rating: B-

 

Angelina Love and Velvet Sky are seen backstage talking about the four-way for the Knockouts title at Against All Odds.

Rating: D+

 

TNA Knockouts Title: Awesome Kong © versus O.D.B.

Kong keeps the title after Raisha Saieed distracts O.D.B. and Kong hits the Awesome Bomb.

Awesome Kong beat O.D.B. in 7:18 by pinfall

Match Rating: D+

 

Booker T comes to the ring and tells us that he has challenged BG James to a match at Against All Odds.

Rating: B+

 

Non-Title: Beer Money Inc. versus Team 3D

Mike Tenay mentions how Abyss and Matt Morgan will also be part of the title match at Against All Odds.

Team 3D beat Beer Money in 3:46.

Match Rating: D+

 

Chris Sabin comes to the ring and announces that he, his partner Alex Shelley and Consequences Creed will clash at Against All Odds for Shelley's X Division title.

Christy Hemme versus Miss Jackie

Mike Tenay informs us that the winner of this match is guaranteed a title shot against the Knockouts Champion after Against All Odds.

Christy Hemme defeated Miss Jackie in 4:34 by pinfall with a F.F.G.

Cute Kip introduces Eric Young to his new talk show, Kip's Corner, but before Young can speak, he is attacked and bloodied by Kevin Nash.

Rating: C

 

L.A.X. versus Rock and Rave Infection

Mike Tenay puts over that the winners of this match is guaranteed a future title shot against the Tag Team Champions after Against All Odds.

L.A.X. beat The Rock 'n Rave Infection in 10:44

Match Rating: D+

 

Taylor Wilde is backstage talking to Jay Lethal before KIYOSHI hits Lethal with a Superkick, before shouting in Japanese.

Rating: E+

 

Kurt Angle versus Mick Foley

Hector Guerrero on commentary does not seem to appreciate the significance of this match.

Kurt Angle beat Mick Foley in 5:06 by pinfall with a handful of tights.

Match Rating: B

 

Petey Williams calls out Scott Steiner, only to be attacked from behind by a returning Tomko.

Rating: C

 

Rhino versus Sheik Abdul Bashir

Don West announces during this match that Rhino will be challenging the winner of tonight's main event at Against All Odds for the World title.

Rhino defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir in 6:55 by pinfall with a Gore.

Match Rating: C+

 

Raisha Saeed calls out Traci Brooks, but it is a set up as when Brooks enters the ring Sojourner Bolt attacks her.

Rating: D

 

Roxxi versus Sojourner Bolt

During this match Mike Tenay announces that at Against All Odds Roxxi and Christy will team up to take on Miss Jackie and Sojourner Bolt.

Roxxi defeated Sojourner Bolt in 6:39 by pinfall.

Samoa Joe makes his triumphant return and challenges Sonjay Dutt to a match at Against All Odds.

Rating: C

 

Kevin Nash versus Eric Young

Eric Young gets a good amount of offense on Nash, but Nash uses a lead pipe to steal the win.

Kevin Nash beat Eric Young in 7:05 by pinfall

Match Rating: C+

 

TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Sting © versus Shark Boy

Shark Boy goes all at it against the Champion and looks like a star, with Sting having to use the ropes to get the win.

Sting beat Shark Boy in 17:53 by pinfall while using the ropes.

Match Rating: C

I know a few people may feel booking Shark Boy into a World title match was a bit much, but he performed well.

These two men wrestle a very long match to begin the show with Shelley using the ropes to win.

Alex Shelley beat Hernandez in 17:59 by pinfall while using the ropes

Match Rating: C+

 

The Rock 'n' Rave Infection versus Abyss and Matt Morgan

Abyss and Matt Morgan still seemed to have a few problems as they head into their title shots at Against All Odds but win here.

Abyss & Matt Morgan beat The Rock 'n Rave Infection in 7:39

Match Rating: D+

 

Styles tells Alex Shelley that whoever is X Division Champion after Sunday will have to defend it at Destination X against him.

Rating: B-

 

Angelina Love versus Christy Hemme

Mike Tenay notes during this match that if Love wins the Knockouts title on Sunday she will have to defend it at Destination X against Hemme.

Christy Hemme defeated Angelina Love in 4:42 by pinfall with a F.F.G.

Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed help Velvet Sky attack a challenger on Sunday for the Knockouts title, O.D.B.

Don West reminds us that BG will face off against Booker T at Against All Odds.

BG James defeated Chris Sabin in 4:37 by pinfall with a Dogg Pound.

Booker T is dominant in this match with Dutt seeing little action however Ray pins Booker to win the match for Team 3D.

Chris Sabin is talking to Consequences Creed about his main event match until Shelley jumps Creed from behind. Alex Shelley continues to slap the fallen Creed whilst Sabin laughs at how Creed has no chance of winning the X Division title on Sunday.

Cute Kip versus Jay Lethal

Letal gets the majority of offense in this short match until Kip uses a foreign object behind the referee's back.

Mike Tenay is shocked when the tag team Champions lose a match just days before their title defense.

LAX come to the ring but before long KIYOSHI runs out and spits green mist in their faces.

Kevin Nash versus Mick Foley

Both of these men struggle to wrestle a vigorous match and trade blows most of the time until Nash uses the ropes to win.

Match Rating: B-

 

Rhino comes to the ring only to be attacked from behind by Kurt Angle. Angle says that he has a World title match at Destination X and he wants it to be against Sting, not Rhino.

Roxxi versus Miss Jackie

Mike Tenay makes reference to the fact that these two will be on opposing teams at Against All Odds.

Roxxi defeated Miss Jackie in 2:47 by pinfall.

Shark Boy comes to the ring to see the crowd and is hit by Petey Williams with a Canadian Destroyer.

Rating: D

 

Non-Title: Awesome Kong versus Taylor Wilde

Raisha Saeed cheers Kong on from ringside as she dominates Wilde days before her title defense.

Awesome Kong beat Taylor Wilde in 2:41 by pinfall

Match Rating: C-

 

Tomko calls out Traci Brooks to discuss his contract with him as part of management, only for Traci to be attacked by the Knockouts Champion Awesome Kong who is still in the ring. Tomko tells the audience there is no way Kong will lose her title on Sunday.

AJ Styles versus Sheik Abdul Bashir

Don West mentions how whoever wins the X Division title match on Sunday should be ready for AJ.

AJ Styles beat Sheik Abdul Bashir in 7:23 by pinfall with a Styles Clash.

Match Rating: C+

 

Sojourner Bolt, Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed return to the ring and warn O.D.B. that she will be in trouble in the title match on Sunday.

Non-Title: Sting versus Consequences Creed

Creed lasts fourteen minutes with the World Champion and nearly has him beat a few times before he has to tap to the Scorpion Death Lock.

Booker T laughs at Abyss's loss and challenges him to a match at Destination X.

AJ Styles versus Chris Sabin

Sabin puts in alot of innovative offense against AJ in this short match before the Number One contender to the X Division title gets the victory.

AJ Styles defeated Chris Sabin in 3:54 by pinfall with a Styles Clash.

After the match Alex Shelley returns to the ring and tells AJ he will keep the X Division title at Destination X.

Shark Boy gets in some offense in this match as Sting begins to tire, but the World Champion wins after a Scorpion Death Drop.

The fans boo Kurt Angle like mad after the match as he promises that he will beat Sting for the TNA World Heavyweight title at Destination X, and that the Main Event Mafia was finished.

I can understand why people would say that Shark Boy was booked to look too strong in the main event.

Monday, Week 1, March, 2009

 

Unfortunately, one half of the TNA Tag Team Champions Brother Ray and the Main Event Mafia's Kevin Nash left the company today.

 

Team 3D have beens stripped of the TNA Tag Team titles and they have been declared vacant.

 

Television networks have also released the schedules for the new TV season today.

 

TNA extended the contract of Jimmy Rave today. In regards to the Tag Team title situation, the following match has been announced for tonight's Impact:

I am trying to rebuild TNA into a younger roster, so I did not renew the contracts of Kevin Nash or Brother Ray. Devon has an interesting look and can still go so he will remain on the roster for the time being.

Shelley and KIYOSHI have great chemistry and put on a good match as Shelley heads towards Destination X.

Booker T and Abyss are seen brawling, not being able to wait for their match at Destination X.

Rating: B-

 

AJ Styles versus Chris Sabin

AJ makes short work of Sabin in this match as he looks towards his title match at Destination X.

AJ Styles defeated Chris Sabin in 4:21 by pinfall with a Styles Clash.

Match Rating: C+

 

After the match Shelley comes out and sarcastically claps AJ. AJ tells Shelley that he will take the X Division title from him at Destination X.

The Beautiful People versus Christy Hemme and Roxxi

Mike Tenay mentions how Christy is doing great as she heads towards her title match at Destination X as she pins Velvet Sky for the win.

This match is far too long given who was involved but Rock 'n' Rave get the upset and are the new Tag Team Champions.

Following the match Eric Young, Lethal's partner at Destination X, comes to the ring to help his friend.

Robert Roode is a little off his game as Abyss dominates him but Beer Money win heading into their match with Young and Lethal at Destination X.

KIYOSHI had his best showing yet in the opener against Alex Shelley, although he still needs more experience.

 

Jimmy Rave and Lance Rock won the Tag Team titles and hopefully the feud with BG and Devon will help them.

 

I see Jimmy Rave and Lance Rock as a great team for the future so their title reign will not last long.

Hopefully Devon's pairing with BG James will be successful and will help to elevate Rock 'n' Rave.

At Destination X Rock 'n' Rave will defend their Tag Team titles against BG and Devon, but first Rave must take on BG in singles action.

Last night's TNA House Show made $1,260 and WWE have offered a developmental contract to referee Mark Johnson.

 

TNA are also now in negotiations with Johnson and as an incentive to resign made the following match for next week's Impact tapings:

 

Kurt Angle versus Mark Johnson

Before Angle challenges Sting for the World title at Destination X he will face a referee on Impact.
