All-Star Wrestling: Bischoff is baack!

Recommended Posts

Prowrestlingnews.com - Eric Bischoff announces his new wrestling project, "All-Star Wrestling" - Week 1, March 2009

Last night on Live Audio Wrestling, Eric Bischoff was a guest on the show and announced the opening of "All-Star Wrestling", his brand new wrestling promotion which is set to air on CMT,

"Lets cut to the chase, shall we? I came on your show with the intention to make a HUGE announcement. As most of you already know, I was one of the brains behind CMT's hit tv show, "Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling". After months and months of discussion between CMT and myself, I'm finally ready to announce our next project. Starting next month, live, every Tuesday nights at 8:00pm est, CMT will host "All-Star Wrestling"."

When asked who he has in mind to build the promotion around, Bischoff responded with a mixture of new and old faces,

"We're aware that we can't have a promotion based on semi-active wrestlers who are clinging onto whatever fame they have left, it just isn't a good long-term business plan. I can't tell you exactly who we have signed but you can be sure that we're going to feature a well balanced roster of past, present and future stars."

Bischoff even noted that Hulk Hogan will be apart of the promotion but not as an in-ring talent,

"It's no surprise that Hogan and I have always been very close friends but I regret to inform you that he wont be an in-ring talent. Hulk Hogan and Ernest "The Cat" Miller will be our broadcast team calling all of the action by ringside. From my prior knowledge these two have never commentated anything together in their entire lives and I'm very excited to see the chemistry between these two."

All-Star Wrestling is looking to debut on CMT in a months time. Bischoff notes that ASW will take it's time and build stars while focusing on the things that the other promotions are lacking,

"All-Star Wrestling will take things slow. We know we aren't going to be an overnight success and we're certainly not expecting to be. If we're looking to be a long-term threat to the "other" guys then we gotta focus on what the other promotions are lacking: Great High Flyers, Hot Tag Team Action and Interesting, easy to follow Storylines that don't insult your intelligence!"

Ricky Steamboat Jr. Def. Mike DiBiase in 7:40 by pinfall with a Flying Bodypress.

Rating: E-

Notes: These two showed how inexperienced they are by putting on a very poor match. Steamboat and DiBiase will stay in the preliminary matches untill they're ready to move onto the main show.

First Round of the Championship Tournament

Disqo Inferno vs D-Lo Brown

Disqo attacked D-Lo before the opening bell. Decent slow paced match which ended with D-Lo picking up the pinfall following the Lo-Down.

Winner: D-Lo Brown

Time: 7:20

All-Star Wrestling's backstage interviewer, Brooke Adams, is in the Athletics Center Arena's parking lot. A limo pulls up and Joey Matthews along with Lacey Von Erich. Matthews is dressed in a black suit with dark sunglasses while Lacey Von Erich is in a sparkling red dress.

Brooke Adams: Excuse me-Excuse me-Joey, can I please get a word with you?

Matthews stops and looks Brooke Adams in disgust.

Joey Matthews: Do you have any idea who I am, missy?

Brooke Adam: Yeah, you're-

Joey Matthews: I'm Joey Matthews! I'm a former World Tag Team Champion, I wrestled for some of the top wrestling organizations across the world and I'm the soon-to-be ASW Heavyweight Champion! There's no way in hell that I'm going to waste my time and stop to talk to a skank like you! Come on Lacey, we got a match to get ready for...

Joey Matthews grabs Lacey by her hand and continues walking into the Arena. Brooke is left shocked and insulted.

First Round of the Championship Tournament

Al Snow vs Daniel Rodimer

It's teacher vs student. Daniel Rodimer dominated 90% of the match, using his strength and size to toss Snow around. Snow somehow manages to sneak in a quick roll-up and steal the victory.

how dare you job DDP in the main event. Consider me no longer a reader! ;) JK

DDP wont make it into the second round but he's far from being done in ASW.

The hiring of Mike Dibiase makes me hate you... easily one of the biggest ****suckers I've ever met.

I've never met Mike DiBiase so I wouldn't know how he is outside of the ring. Unfortunately, in this diary, he hasn't been too impressive as of yet.

Ive actually turned Mike into a pretty good tag team wrestler I like to use the whole "The Forgotten Son" gimmick on him

Nick Dinsmore should be one wrestler you need to bring in

Good luck with this, Ill be reading :)

Personally, I'm pulling for a Mark Jindrak push. I remember back in EWR he ended up becoming the star of my company... that and a gimped up Triple H who the WWE cut after he suffered a knee injury (and then the WWE went under, lulz).

<p>i actually really like this diary already. i think i like this one more than most that I read because I could actually see alot of this legitimately happening. it's actually a pretty realistic one. Most that I see are TNA and WWE diaries that are completely dominated by the big name indy guys and you really start to loose a feel for what the fed is all about. You have a pretty good blend of older guys who are still active, and the younger guys who have the potential to make it big. Really reminds me of TNA back in 2002.</p><p> </p><p>

by the way, I'm really pulling for Giant Bernard as the first champ. but I'm honestly anxious to see who you put over.</p>
