21CW: Enter the SuperNova

Recommended Posts

I agree it has ruined this a bit, and it seems kinda stupid to turn off other areas (except Europe) but as FINisher said it's your diary. Though I think it's very stupid to waste a Cornell vs. Nova match in a normal TV show!

That's the only format I'm used too, that's why my best successes have been with SOTBPW and 21CW.

Right, I'm going to stop doing these posts as it's unfair to "bump-whore" my diary, so farewell until tomorrow.

<p>The lifespan of a diary with weekly television shows and a monthly PPV isn't very long around here. If you adding Cornell to your world makes this last longer and you enjoy it more go for it man. The burnout is what you might have to worry about, but you know yourself better than a bunch of people on a message board <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. </p><p> </p><p>

Jay Heartbreak Vs. Louie Peyton</p><p> </p><p>

Really, this was a filler match, I knew the capabilities of Jay, he owns his own company, I just wanted this match so I could evaluate the level Peyton is at. This match wasn't up to level. It started off with a low-blow by Byron before the bell, and continues for the first half with just Byron hitting some strikes backed up by rest holds. Eventually, Peyton gets in some strikes, and even hits an-out-of nowhere superplex. But Byron just got his foot on the rope during the pin. As soon as Louie picked up Heartbreak, he just sneaked in with an Upper Class, 1 2 3 pinfall.</p><p> </p><p>

The Ivanoff brothers Vs. The Elimination Agents</p><p> </p><p>

In the last match between these competitors I will hold in a long time. The Ivanoff's have lost all momentum now. And before the match was even underway they started arguing. This led to early domination by the Elimination Agents. They traded basic offense, until eventually a stackerplex attempt by the Elimination Agents ended with Suicide agent being pushed out of the ring. The Ivanoff's lined up for the Sputnik DDT, but using clever rope trickery Genocide Agent turned this into a double roll-up. Ivan kicked up but Igor couldn't break free. Pinfall.</p><p> </p><p>

Aside from the very generic middle and beginning the end was actually rather good. With Stoat leveling Reason with a Superkick after an attempt at a Double Axe Handle. This match would of been better with build. But with what overness/microphone/acting/charisma/skill?</p><p> </p><p>

Faust eventually enters the ring, and just opens his arms. Chalice in hand.</p><p> </p><p>

He then proceeds to pour the contents of the chalice over Kathleen. The odd liquid proceeds to dissolve her clothes in a mass of heat, steam and smoke. When it clears, Kathleen has been stripped just to her underwear and her bra. While Faust is just their smiling, Kathleen starts freaking out, and runs backstage.</p><p> </p><p>

The crowd, being the rowdy London lot they are, love this segment, and cheer on Faust, maybe signaling a change for him, maybe now people will notice his better qualities...</p><p> </p><p>

This was a very decent match, Joss started the match by interrogating Faust about Lee, after that was established, Thompson rushes Faust into a corner, and starts wailing on him. He lets up when the referee counts to a 4, but then just kicks him under the jaw, giving him enough time to take off a turnbuckle cover while the referee checks the state of Faust. Thompson then rams Faust's face into the exposed turnbuckles, until the referee has to physically restrain him. This starts a period of sustained offense by Thompson, but a failed attempt at a knee lariat let Faust regain some momentum. However, after being DDT'd onto a chair on the outside while the referee was knocked out in the ring just took too much out of Faust's depleted blood supply. Thompson just rolled him into the ring and hit a Clean Cutter, assuring the pinfall.</p><p> </p><p>

Jeff Nova Vs. Tommy Cornell - for the 21CW World Championship</p><p> </p><p>

The much hyped main event was the only thing in my opinion that could bring us major ratings, and it didn't disappoint. Cornell was crisp and collected, showcasing his slow, methodical style whenever I was weak, and using fast paced action to take me down when I was strong. If it was not for my Toughness and strength, I would of falling quickly like a lesser man. But amazingly I held on. The ending was very good. I locked in the World's Strongest Bearhug, but Cornell just leaned back wards on the rope to take us both outside. From there, he Guilt Tripped me, and left me on the outside. I was slowly making my way back to the ring, but when I got to my feet, another mysterious figure climbed on the apron and Moonsaulted on me. Through a table I had set up earlier. Typically Tommy had the referee distracted, until the deed was done, and I was counted out. Tommy Cornell retained the championship I had forfeited to him.</p><p> </p><p>

Transmission Received; Welcome Back...

http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/TheMaskedOrange/21CWalt6.jpg

The show starts with Tommy Cornell, standing at the head of the Entrance Ramp, laughing.

http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/TheMaskedOrange/TommyCornell.jpg

"I am your Messiah!"

Crowd boo, they don't like Cornell and all of his underhanded tricks, or any of his high-brow mental warfare, to them he's as confusing as watching Silent Witness with no sound on

"You people don't even realise what I mean to the future of British Wrestling, I have saved you!"

"For all his preaching, and his morale value, Nova comes up pretty weak on me."

"Let's be Brutally honest, he lost. There are many reasons why this occurred. He's not a very talented Wrestler, he can't mat wrestle, he's not the most insanely flashy wrestler on the planet, he can barely straddle the Top Rope, let alone jump off it, his submissions are about as useful in a match as a book is to a Geordie, and I'm sorry, but sheer strength and charisma can only get you so far."

The crowd struggle here, they know that Nova isn't the best wrestler on the planet, so are caught of guard. This allows Tommy to continue, with revitalised momentum.

"And, if you've ever noticed, Nova doesn't put in the sheer work ethic in that others such as myself and Dark Angel do. He is just happy to put in half the effort required, and get a limo home with the biggest paycheck in pocket."

"Jeff Nova is a Male Diva, or Miva, he hangs around the locker room, flaunting himself as the Saviour of the entire British Wrestling scene, yet, it has been alive and well in many forms since the 1980's."

Some of the die-hard MOSC fans in the audience start some classic MOSC chants, like "You can't grapple" and "MOSC", and my personal favourite "The Men Of Steel Are Hard!"

"What Nova doesn't tell you, is that as a great leader, he had to let his people die.."

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Case Study number One, Men Of Steel Combat. It has been a successful and profitable company since it's inception at the beginning of the eighties, an era where there was no interest in British Wrestling. In Fact, on their opening card, seven tables were broken by the force of falling bodies, four chairs were dented so much they were more useful as orthopedics, six wrestlers were busted open, just so this company could get noticed, and survive. Then, slowly, they became quite profitable, they could tone down their Hardcore stylings and introduce more wrestler-friendly features. MOSC was the first British Company to introduce elements of comedy, and thus are the originators of British Sports Entertainment. They brought a company into the British Wrestling world despite no one really wanting to see it. They paved a trail in which 'The Revolution' could follow."

"And how did Nova thank this company? They stole a good portion of it's wrestlers on exclusive contracts, took away crucial fans that MOSC were just about surviving on, and left it there, a company with no hope of a future, slowly leaking away money, dieing a slow and painful death, just to fuel "The Revolution' "

"As you can see, for Nova to be the leader of the British Wrestling Scene, he had to let some of it die."

"To be a good leader Nova, you had to let some of your people die."

The crowd are drawn in by this story, they forget to boo, it seems that Cornell is drawing people in to what he is saying, and with dictator-like charisma it's no surprise.

"Case Study Two, Ring Of Fire. They are a small wrestling promotion based in the midlands. They are probably the only company in Britain true to the raw Wigan stylings of shoot fighters and submission artists. They barely manage to survive as it is, as the bulk of wrestling audiences in the U.K aren't really drawn to the pure wrestling that ROF exists in."

"But ROF survived, they managed to keep their fires burning in a market that didn't want what they gave. And soon, ROF had established itself in a niche that allowed it to be able to grow and prosper. Until Nova had his way."

"Nearly half of the ROF roster was taken and put upon the pedestal that is 21CW, leaving a very empty company, barely a flicker light in the sea of black. In fact, their owner had to call several members of the ROF training camp onto the roster earlier than they should of just to fill out the card."

"Which means that those young men, may of missed vital parts of information crucial to developing into decent wrestlers. In short, those men may have their wrestling careers impaired just so Nova could have his lust for power fulfilled."

There are murmurs among the fans, they are starting to see a side of Nova they didn't know about. Others are just slating this as propaganda.

"My final piece of evidence Dear Watson, The EX-21CW Roster."

"Before Nova took over, 21CW was a struggling husk, barely able to survive the bailiffs, yet they had a young and progressive roster, full of hot prospects and future stars."

"Here are all the names of people cut from the 21CW roster when Nova's reign of 'UK Sports Entertainment' and 'The Revolution' swept in;

Arson Wells,

Brilliant White,

Johnny Highspot,

Keith Adams,

Kev Jordan,

Rave,

Trance,

"Stardust" Phil Cox,

Tyler Baker,

Ultra Fly"

"May those who have departed us be avenged..."

"You may also realise the difference between a Rebellion and a Revolution in a historical sense. Rebellions are the one's that have failed, and Revolutions are one's that have succeeded."

"But Nova, if this is your Revolution, where you have succeeded at destroying the future of British Wrestling, we don't want it."

"We here at the rebellion, don't want to succeed at that. And so we can only watch, as Britain's Wrestling fades into nothingness."

Daniel Black Francis Vs. Luke Cool w/ the Steamroller for the 21CW UK Championship in a tables match

After the competitors made their entrances, and the referee started the match, they both went for tables. What Francis didn't know is that The Steamroller can punch pretty hard for a retired wrestler. Luke Cool tried to High-Five Steamroller, who just rolled his eyes. That little skit just proved the great chemistry Luke Cool has when being managed by The Steamroller. This was followed by some Irish whip assaults by Luke until he set up a table in the ring. When he turned his back Francis got up and gave him a back suplex onto the top turnbuckle, showing his resilience and versatility. He followed this up by some light grappling with some basic strikes Incorporated until he whipped Luke into the corner. Francis then tried to charge straight into Cool, but The Steamroller tripped him up, leaving him vulnerable to a low-blow by Cool. The momentum remained with Cool, letting him show his developing talent to a wider audience, until Francis reversed a DDT attempt into a standing spinebuster. After letting Cool regain his vertical base, Francis speared Cool through a table, filling the criteria needed for winning a match, but The Steamroller had the referee distracted by trying to enter the ring with some Brass Knuckles. When the referee caught sight of the match again Cool had managed to regain his composure and hit a slingshot suplex through the table to get the referee's verdict as to who won.

Admittedly, if it wasn't for The Steamroller and his great chemistry with Cool I wouldn't have the nerve to push Cool towards this title.

Winner: Luke Cool (New 21CW UK Championship Holder)

Segment Rating: D- (Cool's best match!)

http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/TheMaskedOrange/BritishSamurai.jpgVs.http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/TheMaskedOrange/StevieStoat.jpg

British Samurai Vs. Stevie Stoat

In a match purely designed to help Stoat develop his performance skills, and to flaunt the Working Agreement between ROF and 21CW. Though many fans ended up chanting "Nova Killed You!" for most of the match. Stoat started out with the offense, hitting some slaps, and showcasing his technical skills. This ended after some very sly tactics by Samurai allowed him to turn a headlock into an inverse leg trip which flowed into some mat work before hitting Stoat with many different suplexes. That ended when stoat countered a Half-Nelson Suplex into a reverse DDT. He followed this up by preparing for a Superkick, which he missed when Samurai ducked under it, only for Samurai to be hit by the other foot after a quick foot switch. I expected Samurai to get me better match ratings, but oh well.

Winner: Stevie Stoat

Segment Rating: D-

http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/TheMaskedOrange/PitBullBrown.jpgVs.http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/TheMaskedOrange/Nightmare.jpg

Pit Bull Brown Vs. Nightmare

Nightmare started this match by staring down Brown, with his menace really shining, he then followed that up by tossing Brown from corner to corner. The slow start to the match really helped Nightmare keep pace, since he's 21, his ring mechanics can be improved. After some hard hitting haymakers from Nightmare, the referee had to pull Nightmare off Brown. When Brown then went for an avalanche Brown managed to slide out of the corner before the gigantic Nightmare crushed him. Brown followed this up with a frantic flurry of punches in the corner, leading into a suplex, but Nightmare is so heavy it takes the usage of the ropes to lift him over. After a Rebound Legdrop and a couple of elbow drops Brown spends the next couple of minutes with the upper-hand, just managing to avoid any major moves from Nightmare. Until Brown goes for the Dog House Driver, he just can't lift Nightmare, he is just so bulky, Nightmare uses this opportunity to roll-up Brown from underneath, using the ropes for leverage.

Winner: Nightmare

Segment Rating: D- (3 in a row, I should get an award...)

http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/TheMaskedOrange/JeffNova.jpg

Jeff Nova makes his way down to the ring, the crowd are cheering, but they obviously have a lesser opinion of him. The rant from Cornell obviously hit home.

"Cornell! You slander spreading Bastard! You come out here, and tell these fans about your company? TCW? The one that you had back in the states?"

"Before you slander me and this organisation you must be judged yourself. And you don't have a clean sheet either do you?"

"You lead a group of investors to buy TCW a couple of years back, and you caused the greatest disruptence in American Wresting History. Your company has let go of more workers than 21CW hands down."

"To begin with, the crusierweight Division, you axed it on a whim, despite it's continued success, forcing many talented and popular wrestlers to a life of financial worry."

"You took and absorbed many of the Indies greatest talents, forcing those Indies into many more years of darkness. Where they couldn't even get enough money to stay afloat. You offered no support, whereas we are giving ROF a working agreement, and you subjected them to a grisly demise."

"And talent raids by your company, along with others, accounted for the demise of Cult Favourite DAVE. Despite the fact they were developing all the best talent, and giving the Veterans a place to shine before they retire, you let them fall into the Red, and then did nothing to save them."

"AND...

For every squeal from the misery of your plight, you just surrender to Them.

http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr12/TheMaskedOrange/Nightmare.jpg

Before the crowd can even fill their lungs in order to supply Nightmare's entrance with a boo he descended on the ring. Before Nova could fully grasp the actual severity of this situation, he had Nightmare's hand wrapped around his throat. And soon, he descended into a Darkness Choke Slam.

As soon as the deed had been done, the lights turned off, and Nightmare had disappeared by the time they turned back on.

Jeff Nova Vs. Dark Angel

As Nova started this match looking up at the rafters, Angel was ****y enough to take his time on the way to the ring. He very lazily climbed to the top turnbuckle, and hit a Moonsault straight away. And Nova barely pulled himself together before the 3 count. Dark Angel capitalised on Nova's position by wrestling him on the mat. Especially working on the Left Knee. This included headlocks, waistlocks, Hammerlocks, Knee Pull's and a very convincing Figure-Four. Dark Angel eventually let Nova regain a vertical base, just so that he could attempt a springboard dropkick, but Nova countered this into a Powerbomb, and after a brief period of both competitors being down, they both managed to avoid the 10-count. Nova quickly caught the advantage for the first time in this match by throwing some haymakers at Angel, and then showing off his vast strength by throwing Dark Angel out of the ring after lifting him into a slam press. On the outside Angel regained momentum by forcing Nova's head into the announce table with a Drop Toe Hold. Followed by some smashes of Nova's head into the table. Angel then pushed Nova onto the table, and entered the ring again. He then climbed to the top turnbuckle, faced Nova, and hit a High-Angle Senton bomb, which sent both Nova and Angel through the table. Dark Angel made it back into the ring on the four count, while Nova just about made it in right before the ten count. Dark Angel then bounced off the ropes, building momentum, but before he could do anything constructive Nova just hit him on the side of the head. Angel however, didn't take the force full on, so was still awake enough to climb the turnbuckles, and attempt a flying clothesline. But Nova simply plucked Angel out of the air and applied The Worlds Strongest Bearhug. After a full three minutes of pain the match was ended when Cornell ran in and hit Nova with a chair, busting him open. The referee instantly DQ'd Dark Angel, and an unconscious Nova was declared the victor.

Tommy Cornell Vs. Jonathan Faust for the 21CW World Championship

Cornell was already in the ring from his attack on Nova, so it was just a case of Faust making his awesome entrance, involving a lot of smoke and his ever present Druids. This match was restricted because, as it turns out, Cornell and Faust just don't click and all. And it was very one-sided. Cornell started it by throwing around some grapples with Faust, simply toying with him, until Cornell was thrust down by a desperation spear, allowing Faust to slowly regain his momentum, and give some offense to Cornell. Cornell suddenly got very serious and came up with a counter-hold for everything Faust had. Cornell eventually regained complete control, using a lot of innovative offense, including a Half-Nelson Overhead Flip Slam, and a Rear Guard Key Lock. And so it wasn't very long before Faust succumbed to a Guilt Trip.

Getting more consistent. Hopefully the star boost of Cornell will pass on to the rest of the roster soon.

Seeing as you namedropped me I should probably reply.

It's MUCH clearer now, so yeah, well done :) Much easier to follow the show.

However, I am having trouble 'following' the diary as a whole. Without wishing to criticise or insult you, I find it very difficult to suspend belief and see Cornell in 21CW - or anything to do with early 21CW getting A ratings. I realise you did this legit and are just cleverly using one of the game's facilities, but I just can't switch off from saying "This ain't right".

Again, I'm not trying to crap over your thread - I do enjoy your characterisation and your ideas for promos are stuff I could never come up with - but I am finding it a struggle at the moment. :(

Actually, you're pretty much right about the Cornell thing, which is why I blocked myself from buying the Giedroyc's and the martin's ect. And even with Cornell, I'm still losing popularity.

All beacuse I'm trying to build up all of the roster, and not just go Cornell crazy. I think for me this is a good starter diary, but I don't think this will be an ecspecially long diary.

That coupled with my hectic life at the moment means that this may last a few months tops, by which time I would like to resolve all fueds.

Remember, to me this is a first diary, I will move on.

Thanks for reading. :)

I COMPLETELY forgot about this. If you compare this to my first diary (a CGC one) yours is clearly superior. Keep up the good work :)

Last post of the day, otherwise it would be unfair bumping.

Don't be so modest rathen, you're one of the best out there, I'm too scared to even go near Australia!

EDIT: Response to Nedew: YAY! It's just a matter of being crap board and stuck with a lot of pain for the past two days (Braces OW!, they've been tightened, but I reckon the dentist screwed em too tight.)

Sorry my followers, this is over.

Shortly, I will be starting a new dynasty, and this one must end.

There are many reasons for this, one being partial burn out, I don't like writing for Cornell, I have no idea of where to start with him, and I think introducing him as the face of the promotion wasn't my brightest idea.

And I do agree that it would of been better if I had just stuck with the original roster, but me being paranoid thought that it would all collapse far too soon.

The main reason however, as to why this shall be discontinued, is the release in the future of WS3. When it comes out I will probably be playing that non-stop, and before then I want to sink my teeth into a longer, more personalised roster.

I will probably go for my 97 draft company, as it's always fun to book. But I am open to any ideas. I even pondered on a truly daredevil local-sized U.K promotion. Gave it a test run and Brilliant White became my Champion in a F+ match.

Sorry for those who have been following this. For me this was a fun diary to start, and I hope you've enjoyed it. It really straightened out a lot of preconceptions I had about Diary writing.

Thanks for all of the support I've gotten, and my new diary may begin anywhere between today and next week, depending solely on whether I'm busy, which restricted this thread also.

Again, thanks to my four fans (I kid, noone except for Nedew and Rathen read this ;)) for teaching me nearly everything I need to know. I owe a lot to you guys.
