It really is hard to find a personal style, and I'll need to check out J-Sillver's some more because it really is a great one. TK's was awesome as well. For the write-ups, I'm trying to make them longer, but right now, since I don't want to burn out trying to write some longer ones, I want to go at a pace that will allow me to get bigger, bigger and eventually really big. Bigpapa42
It really is hard to find a personal style, and I'll need to check out J-Sillver's some more because it really is a great one. For the write-ups, I'm trying to make them longer, but right now, since I don't want to burn out trying to write some longer ones, I want to go at a pace that will allow me to get bigger, bigger and eventually really big. Thanks for the comment, it's nice to see the things I should start working on It is very definitely hard to find your voice. Perhaps it comes easy when you've done a few long-running diaries, but I suspect its a process even then. Find the right balance of your own style, what works for your promotion, your workers, and your readers - that's the key and that takes both effort and time. Regarding the length of the match write-ups, find something the works. While epic-length, mega-detailed reports might be great, you can burn yourself out pretty quickly and potentially turn off some readers who just don't want to read 10,000 words on one given match. Its about finding that balance. Going too big can be as much of an issue as having one line to describe a 45-minute A* classic. Pleasing your readers - as many of them as possible, at least - should always be something of a concern, but writing your diary should be fun for you first and foremost. Again, I don't think the match write-ups for the recent shows are a glaring weakness of the diary or anything. But you asked, and it is one area that I see where there could be some growth and development. Perhaps I alone on this, but I think it some expectations come from the promotion you choose. North of the Border Pro Wrestling is going to come with expecatations from readers of a bit more detail in the match reports, much like most Japanese promotions... whereas I can get away with less for most matches because its the SWF... However, Harlem and R.K.'s timing was great, as every time the Irish let their guard down, something got through. They let their guard down far too many times though, as Harlem got through with a nice punch, and hit the Harlem Hussle, to finish the match. DWN hit the DDT, and tagged out to Harrison Hash, who entered the ring, and landed a nice shot to the face of Derek Frost. Frost landed a punch of his own, and tagged out to Alysian. Dog Fyte came in quickly, manhandling, Jim Force, using brute force, and lifting him, and putting him down very hard. Captain USA rushed into the ring to save his comrade, but was laid out by Mighty Cavanagh, who then picked him up, and landed the Sit-Out Spinebuster. Where, he then got the pin, and ended the match. Dark Angel's High Flying was nothing for Dan DaLay's Brute Force and Power Attacks. DaLay didn't even need to tag out to John Maverick. Dan DaLay managed to grab a hold on Dark Angel, as he was on the top rope, and SuperPlex him on the way down, an Incredible showing of Athleticism. Angel managed to tag out, but it wasn't much help, as DaLay hit the DaLay Down, and ended the match. The Natural, dominated Dallas McWade, who seemed unable to do anything tonight. He tagged out to Dean, as did The Natural, to Owen Love, who also dominated his opponent. Owen Love hit Dean very hard, slumping him against the ropes, and tagged out to The Natural, who hit the Nature Calls, and ended the match. Alex destroyed Danny Rushmore respectively, beating the big man in a nasty way, landing punch and kick and punch and kick. A destructive victory followed, as Steve landed the DeColt Stampede with the help of his brother over Danny Rushmore, before getting the pin. They're talented, Strong, smart, classy, and very cool-headed. This was showcased in this match, as they proved time again, that they are the top men in NOTBPW. Joe and Jesse Gilbert were unable to get inside and work their strength. Dan and Jeremy worked their technique, and threw Joe and Jesse off like they were little kids. They might as well have been, as they didn't make any impact on the brothers. Dan hit the Stone Ankle Stretch, just as Jeremy hit the Stone Throw, and both managed to finish off their opponents in the same amount of time. Every wrestler that is signed by CWIA, will be considered for a contract with NOTBPW in the near future. Dan Stone also announced Owner and Booker of the new-born promotion, Gil Thomas, will be taking the reigns, until a new booker emerges onto the company scene. Dan Stone has suggested multiple business men for the opportunity, and Gil Thomas is now taking the time to review them. Bookers suggested were : Marty Papin, Playboy Jake Sawyer, Martin Theocott and Lee Bambino. All 4 men had been interviewed by Stone himself before being suggested to Thomas as viable bookers for the promotion. Multiple NOTBPW wrestlers stated their opinion on the news of the developmental or 'child' promotion. The Natural : I'm happy about the situation, there's never too much talent in a promotion like NOTBPW, the people here, and I'm speaking of guys like DWN, Primus Allen and Sayeed Ali, who are always hungry for a win. It's definitely going to benefit us in the long run. Dan Stone Jr. : It's definitely a good situation, and after talking with my father, and the NOTBPW creative team, we've received the news of two people that will be heading down to CWIA, for their inaugural event. It'll definitely benefit some of our guys in the long run. R.K. Hayes : I definitely believe in this idea. I mean there were definitely some guys in Street Cred that need some development. I mean I was practically carrying them. But, maybe with the CWIA now, I can get some new guys for Street Cred, and that oughtta benefit me It is said that Harlem Haynes and Harrison Hash will be heading down to Develop their skills with CWIA as soon as possible. They had this to say : Harrison Hash : I know I've had some trouble winning lately, so I understand why they are sending me down to CWIA. I'll be winning and being brought back up very soon. Harlem Haynes : All I have to say is that the CWIA, will have a new brawler on the premises, and they won't be beaten him. That's all for now, and more news as we get it. SeanMcFly
http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/SeanMcFly/NOTBPW/People/ScottRipley.jpg Random Thoughts leading up to the Ed Henson Memorial Tag Team Cup Alright, finally at the end of this hectic schedule that is the Ed Henson Memorial Tag Team Cup. Here's how it's going to go down. The Four Remaining Tag Teams will be split into 2 different match-ups. DaLay & Maverick will face off with The Can-Am Blondes, and The DeColts will lock horns with The Stones. Then, the 2 teams that are left, will then go backstage, to train themselves, or rest up for the final match of the night, where not only this year's winners will be decided, but the new Tag Team Champions. Then, the champs have the bragging rights, and if it's anybody from CGC, I myself know, that it will start a riot. It should be an excellent finale, and probably the best we've ever had. Speaking of CGC, the relationship switch really paid off, it allowed us to capitalize on the talent that is there at CGC, without losing our talent to them. What really sweetens the deal, is that the talent that we bring in, compared to the talent we are sending out, is really advantaging us. CGC are dropping in size since the talent trades have begun, and NOTBPW is rising at an alarming rate, which just makes us laugh. It must burn the CGC executives to see how good we're doing in their home base. What's even better is the Developmental deal we've reached. Not only does it allow us to capitalize on the talent that lies beneath Harrison Hash and Harlem Haynes, but it allows us to have an inside eye at the CGC shows. CWIA is located in British Columbia, which allows us to have a man on the inside of CGC, where he can visit each show, and see what clicks with them, and we'll be able to use that to our advantage, bringing in the men that have good chemistry together, and using that as our gain. It really feels good. 2 months ago, I began speaking of a more TCW-Based Product, basically a re-invented tradition, where Mainstream and Traditional style wrestling clash, in a real hybrid mix. The evolution has begun, as NOTBPW has been testing out new matches and angles at the house shows we've been producing, and I must say the transition is successful, so far. Anything can change at any moment, so we shouldn't get too comfortable. Now, Why Harlem and Harrison. Why ? Because we don't have enough written contracts to send everybody to development that needs to be sent. Harrison Hash and Harlem Haynes already had written contracts with NOTBPW, and those two are the only people, that in my eyes, that I could see room for improvement. I don't want to send guys like R.K. Hayes down there because of the feuds that I can still capitalize on with him up on the main organization. Haynes is a burly brawler that can beat anybody with the right training. However, he lacks the guidance to win all the time. Development can help that. Harrison, has talent, but he just never lived up to his potential after taking off the Panda Mask, which he was so well known for. Now, in development, he can learn some new things, and get better. Both men will either eventually work their way on to the main organization, or get cut in the developmental process, so they can't take this as a safe zone. Alright, Here's The Card ! Hayes Melody Cuthill © vs Wanda Fish FINAL Stones vs Can Ams Must..... beat..... bigpapa..... aaaaargh lol PS Just wondering how you set that all up the working agreement and the dev promotion. If you could let us know in an OOC post would be apreciated. I can definitely explain. So in my previous games, I loved to play as Local Feds, and since I love Canada, that was the first I tried. The Canadian Wrestling In Action. It was used to Showcase Traditional Talent mixed with a little High Flying. I used it to try and develop another contender in Canada. Since NOTBPW used to always go to National with the talent they had, and CGC would just stick to cult and keep the DeColts to themselves, the other talent in Canada couldn't be seen, so that was the point of that promotion. Now, the developmental deal, The Promotion is Local Sized as I said, and I've been trying to get the developmental deal ever since they came up. But the Owner hadn't been found. But, yesterday, I tried it again, without looking at the company, and I got the deal. So, as a little test of the system. I sent the two people on written contracts in need of the most improvement down there, and see how it works. Then once I hit National, it should be a good promotion to use, and if it isn't I might have to switch. The Working Agreement was simple, I just went to business, and canceled my deal with CGC when Steve DeColt's contract was up for renewal. He preferred signing with CGC, so I went to my promotional pacts section, and attempted a Working Agreement with CGC, and it worked. So if DaLay or The DeColts were ever to win, I could just renew the contract, and keep it going. That clear things up ?
