SWF - Showcasing Wrestling's Future

Recommended Posts

<p>No fancy backstory or anything, just a dynasty which will hopefully be done in real time, starting with Supreme TV this Tuesday. I’ve tried to go for the ‘mid-feud’ approach for many of the angles, filling you in on what’s going on partly in the preview below and partly in the show itself. </p><p> </p><p> There are some awesome, awesome SWF dynasties out there, with Derek’s being a particular favorite of mine, but that’s partly because it’s such a great fed to book. I hope I can capture a few people’s interest.</p><p> </p><p> Big thanks go to everyone who contributed to both the Official Tip thread and the SWF Tips thread, especially BigPapa42 – both have really helped me in this game so far. </p><p> </p><p> Also, the title may look weird given the lack of any new guys for a while – it will hopefully make sense by March or so game time.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="22963" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>From </p><a href="http://www.swf.com" rel="external nofollow"><strong>http://www.swf.com</strong></a><p> </p><p> Are you ready, guys? OOC: Thanks for the predictions, guys - it's great to see some fantastic dynasty writers reading this! Hope you enjoy the first show, all feedback gratefully received.

Will post grades and next week's line-up tomorrow.

The opening hype video recaps some of the greatest moments of the last few months, notably the Vengeance vs Jack Bruce, Brandon James vs Enygma, and Christian Faith vs Eric Eisen feuds.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/PeterMichaels.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/EmmaChase.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/AngryGilmore.jpg

With that done, we cut to Peter Michaels, Emma Chase, and a guy who hasn’t been seen on SWF programming for some time – Angry Gilmore.

PM: Welcome, fans, to the first Supreme TV of the new year! Alongside me is Emma Chase...

EC: And alongside me is an SWF legend joining us on commentary to help him prepare for his eagerly anticipated comeback, Angry Gilmore!

AG: Great to be with you, Emma. And you, Pete, I suppose.

EC: Great to have you, Angry. And what a night you’ve picked to join us. Coming up... the first title defense of 2008, as Squeeky McClean and Enygma challenge for Rich Money’s North American belt in a triple threat bout!

PM: Another triple threat match, which sees Valiant go up against Jack Giedroyc and Enforcer Roberts!

EC: And our massive main event, Christian Faith against Remo!

PM: Plus more matches, I’m sure.

AG: Well, looks like we’re straight into things, with the introductions about to be made for the big NA title bout.

NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH: RICH MONEY © vs ENYGMA vs SQUEEKY MCCLEAN

The two heels take it in turns working over Enygma for the early part of the bout, until he makes a comeback and takes it to McClean for a few minutes. Meanwhile, the crafty champion takes the opportunity to rest, and surprises Enygma with the Pennies from Heaven after Enygma hits a massive sitout powerbomb on Squeeky. McClean can’t quite get up in time to stop Money pinning the babyface, and the champ retains here.

CHRISTIAN FAITH IN RING INTERRUPTED

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/ChristianFaith.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/CheetahBoy.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/LassanaMakutsi.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/MarshallDillon.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RunawayTrain.jpg

[Christian Faith is in the ring, holding a mic, as the crowd go crazy for him. The 41 year old soaks in the cheers, then raises the mic to speak.]

CF: Thank you, thank you, thank you. As always, it is my pleasure, and my great privilege, to be out here in front of all of the wonderful SWF fans.

More than anything, I want to do this forever. But I have to be realistic, and know that in 20 years time, I’m not going to be standing here in front of you like this.

In 10 years time, if I still am, it certainly won’t be as a regular wrestler. Maybe I’ll come out once in a while. But my full-time in-ring career is probably getting close to an end.

Crowd: Please don’t go! Please don’t go! Please don’t go!

[Faith smiles, and holds up his hand.]

CF: Whoa... guys, I’m touched by how strongly you feel, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I said it’s getting to an end, not that I’m planning on retiring in the next few weeks or months. No, God willing, you’ll have me for a few years yet – but it IS time for some other guys to start to step up and prepare to replace the old men like me, so it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to 3 of the SWF’s newest call-ups from our wonderful Rhode Island Professional Wrestling developmental facility.

[The crowd dutifully cheer the 3 men who come out, and each ascend a turnbuckle.]

CF: Cheetah Boy, LM, and Marshall Dillon!

[As the 3 starstruck youngsters soak up the cheers, and Faith turns to acknowledge each section of the audience, there are screams from some of the fans as, charging down the aisle, comes the monstrous Runaway Train!

Faith hears the screams and turns around, just in time to be picked up and thrown hard into the turnbuckle which Marshall Dillon was standing on, causing the big youngster to fall off hard. Glancing over his shoulder, Cheetah Boy flips off the ropes with a picture-perfect moonsault – only to be caught by Train, and sent crashing down with a massive Train Wreck!

LM is down from the turnbuckle now, and grabs Train from behind, whipping him into the ropes and aiming for a clothesline, only for the big veteran to duck, bounce off the opposite ropes, and hit a massive lariat! Faith is up and charges at Train, straight into a belly to belly suplex, and the monster follows up by hitting consecutive Train Wrecks on Dillon, LM, and finally Faith. With the Guru, who’s walked down to the outside, applauding, Train then surveys the scene of destruction, grabs Faith’s discarded mic, and kneels by Cheetah Boy.]

RT: Pay your dues!

AG: Wow. Impressive stuff there from the SWF’s resident monster, I guess he wasn’t keen on Faith’s claims that the new guys needed to get ready to replace the over 40 brigade.

PM: Indeed. Train, remember, is 43, but seems like he wants to hold his position at the top for a while yet.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/EnforcerRoberts.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/JackGiedroyc.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/Valiant.jpg

ENFORCER ROBERTS vs JACK GIEDROYC vs VALIANT

This is far more ‘every man for himself’ than the previous match, which makeshift alliances lasting only a few seconds – long enough for Valiant and Roberts to hit Jack with a massive double superplex, or for Valiant and Giedroyc to take down the Enforcer with a thunderous spiked powerbomb – before immediately being broken. It’s an exciting dozen or so minutes with lots to see, as all three guys have friends on the outside. Eric Eisen is continually trying to get involved on behalf of his dad’s friend the Enforcer, while Jessie is with Valiant and Giedroyc is being cheered on by his friend Dawn the Cheerleader.

In the end, none of the three on the outside play a physical part in the match, with Eisen being too distracted by the skin shown by the two ladies to provide any real help for the Enforcer, and it’s Valiant who picks up the victory, hitting a V Split on Giedroyc.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/LobsterWarrior.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/EmmaChase.jpg

LOBSTER WARROR SPEAKS TO EMMA CHASE

[The crowd cheer as the popular costumed babyface, Lobster Warrior, heads down to the announcers table at ringside.]

LW: Miss Chase... I want to apologise for what happened last week.

[You could freeze penguins in the chilly tone of Emma’s voice as she replies.]

EC: You want to apologise for kissing me against my will, humiliating me in front of thousands of fans in the arena and millions of fans watching on TV?

[Lobster looks shamefaced, and hangs his head.]

LW: I... I... I thought you wanted it. I’m sorry, Miss Chase. Please forgive me.

PM: Hey! From what I remember, Lobster, she kissed you! Just as you were about to pin her man, as well.

EC: Shut up, Michaels. Warrior, you can forget forgiveness – get the hell out of my sight. This isn’t over yet.

[Lobster looks like he’s about to burst into tears, and turns and walks away head down.]

PM: You really are a piece of work, Emma. Lobster was about to win that triple threat match against Enygma and your man Brandon James, you left your position here, leapt up to the apron, planted a kiss on him – and now you’re blaming him?

EC: Angry, can you get Pete some advice on how to get his eyesight checked out? He doesn’t seem to have been watching properly. Anyway, I have to leave you two for a bit. I got an appointment with Mr Eisen.

PM: Mid-show?

EC: Hey, us important people don’t have much time for this stuff.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RobbieRetro.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/AnaGarcia.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/FrederiqueGarcia_alt1.jpg

ROBBIE RETRO, ANA GARCIA AND FREDERIQUE ANTONIO GARCIA DANCE

[backstage, Robbie Retro is dancing to Boney M’s Daddy Cool. Ana Garcia walks into the room and applauds his moves.]

RR: Hey, looking hot, girl. How you doin’?

AG: I’m good, Robbie. Mind if I join in?

[Retro smiles.]

RR: Sure thing.

[The pair dance together for 30 seconds or so, before a the flamboyant Frederique Antonio Garcia interrupts.]

FAG: Hey, mind if I join in?

[Retro sighs.]

RR: Whoa... Freddie, I’m flattered, but I told ya – that Christmas party game of spin the bottle was just cause I was drunk. You’re missing things I look for in a partner.

[Garcia scowls at him.]

FAG: It was Miss AnaI was planning on dancing with, chico.

[Ana and Retro exchange disbelieving looks.]

FAG: Mr Eisen said I should try having a chica at ringside with me. He felt it might cut down on some of the bad press I’ve been getting.

RR: And you think you can find a girl, dawg?

FAG: You think I can’t, Retro? Frederique Antonio Garcia can do anything he wants to do.

RR: Dawg, you’re crazy. He’s crazy, right Ana?

[she shrugs.]

FAG: Frederique Antonio Garcia is insulted. I demand satisfaction!

RR: Hey, brother. Demanding satisfaction from me sure ain’t helping you get any girls interested.

FAG: In the ring, stupido.

RR: Works for me.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/FrederiqueGarcia_alt1.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RobbieRetro.jpg

FREDERIQUE ANTONIO GARCIA vs ROBBIE RETRO

This is a surprisingly good match, as the pair brawl for 10 minutes or so, all the time playing to the crowd. Retro appears to have it won with a great running powerslam, but Garcia kicks out, and a minute or so later manages to roll the Disco Stud up – with the generous help of a handful of trunks, unseen by the referee.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/GrouchoBling.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/ElmoBenson.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/DawnTheCheerleader.jpg

WHAT HAVE HIGH CONCEPT FOUND?

[backstage, High Concept and Dawn the Cheerleader are walking along when Groucho Bling spots something on the ground.]

GB: Dude!

[Elmo Benson picks it up, revealing it to be a bulging wallet.]

GB: DUDE!

EB: Whoa... someone lost SERIOUS dinero here.

[He opens the wallet to reveal a massive wedge of $100 notes.]

DTC: Guys, I can guess what you’re thinking, but we really should hand this in, yeah?

[bling and Benson look at her.]

GB: Dude?

EB: Lemme see if it says whose it is.

[He pulls out a drivers’ license and a smile breaks on his face. The wallet is the property of one Richard Money III.]

GB: Dude!

EB: I agree, Groucho, my fine friend, he can so afford it.

DTC: You can’t just keep his money and spend it on yourself!

[benson looks shocked.]

EB: Of course not!

[They’ve been walking as they talk, and they turn a corner and come to a steady queue of people at the merchandise counter.]

GB: DUDES!

[The people turn, and pop slightly as they see the goofy trio.]

EB: Hi, everyone!

People: Hi!

EB: Help yourselves to merchandise, guys – for the next 10 minutes, it’s all being paid for by High Concept!

[Massive cheer from the people in the queue, and there’s a rush towards the counter as people watching on the big screen hear this and leave their seats, desperately trying to get to the stuff in time.]

DTC: You know, I’m still not sure this is a good idea...

[The tag team don’t seem to hear her, smiling at the fans as they hand over Rich’s money to the girls working behind the counter.]

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/EricEisen.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/BartBiggz.jpg

ERIC EISEN vs BART BIGGZ

This is a squash match pure and simple, with Bart selling his backside off for the boss’s son. He does a very good job of it, making Eisen look far tougher than he normally does, and Eric gets the win in just over six minutes with the Silver Spoon Shock.

RICHARD EISEN BOOKS A MATCH

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RichardEisen.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/EmmaChase.jpg

[backstage, we cut to a view of the door to Richard Eisen’s office. The door opens, and Emma Chase comes out with a smug, self-satisfied grin on her face. She adjusts her skirt – which was rolled up to a ridiculously high point on her legs – slightly downwards, and walks off as the cameraman goes into the room.]

CM: Mr Eisen, you had a message for the SWF fans?

RE: That’s right. I was looking at tonight’s card, and as much as I hate to say this about any line-up advertised by the Supreme Wrestling Federation, it just doesn’t seem that great to me. It seems like it’s missing some of our biggest stars. And then I realised, one of our biggest stars is set to wrestle in a few minutes, and we still haven’t got round to naming an opponent for him.

So, Lobster Warrior, I’m proud to say you’ll get the chance to take on another massive name here in the SWF – as you go one-on-one with VENGEANCE!

[There’s a shocked pop from the crowd as they acknowledge the big match being added.]

PM: Looks like we know what Emma’s meeting with the boss was about!

AG: Like she said, it was a business meeting.

PM: Yes, I often adjust my skirt at the end of business meetings.

AG: Old man, whatever you do in your private life is your business. But don’t talk about it on air, there’s kids listening.

[The banter between the pair is interrupted by another massive pop from the crowd, as Jack Bruce, the SWF World champion walks out to join them.]

JB: Hey, guys. I’m gonna join you, since you seem to have lost the delightful Miss Chase.

AG: Here to scout out the opposition for next week’s big event, Bruce?

JB: Can’t hurt to keep an eye out. Plus, Lobster Warrior can hold his own in a fair match, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for Chief Two Eagles.

PM: Did anyone ever say a sure sign of madness was naming a steel chair after a retired wrestler?

[bruce laughs.]

JB: No, but they sure should have.

AG: I blame you, Bruce. Vengeance was only MOSTLY crazy until you threw that damned chain of his off the Golden Gate Bridge in that brawl you had.

VENGEANCE vs LOBSTER WARRIOR

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/SkullDeBones_alt.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/LobsterWarrior.jpg

It’s clear that the lack of preparation Lobster Warrior has had for taking on a much bigger opponent has hurt him, and he’s never in with too much of a chance in this match. It’s certainly no squash on the Eisen/Biggz level, but few in attendance can have any doubt of the result, and Bruce doesn’t need to worry about the famous steel chair Chief Two Eagles being used – there’s never a time when Vengeance needs any help. After a series of big spots, Vengeance finishes it with a Skull Krusher.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/SkullDeBones_alt.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/JackBruce.jpg

VENGEANCE/BRUCE STAREDOWN

Post match, Jack Bruce gets on to the apron and claps sarcastically. Vengeance turns towards him and stares at him – and Bruce returns the glare. There’s a hush from the crowd as they wait to see whether the pair go at it – but they just stay engaged in the staring contest, until security finally steps in between them to clear the ring ready for our main event.

REMO vs CHRISTIAN FAITH

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/Remo.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/ChristianFaith.jpg

There’s a buzz in the air at the meeting of two of the SWF’s top stars, and this doesn’t disappoint, as the pair put on a wild brawl for quarter of an hour or so, Faith holding up fairly well against the more powerful Remo, and both men coming close to getting the three count on numerous occasions. The match never gets a winner though – Runaway Train hits the ring to attack Faith, Jack Bruce leaps up from the commentary table to try and head him off, and the four end up brawling wildly as the ref throws this one out.

EIGHT MAN BRAWL

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/Remo.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/ChristianFaith.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RunawayTrain.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/JackBruce.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/EricEisen.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/SteveFrehley.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/LobsterWarrior.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/SkullDeBones_alt.jpg

As the four in the ring show no signs of ending the brawl, Eric Eisen charges out to join in the fight. His nemesis Steve Frehley also comes out, as Lobster Warrior. The four faces look like they have things under control, until the lights go out – and when they’re back up, in the ring stands Vengeance! Lifting up Jack Bruce, he hits a massive Skull Krusher, and as the other six brawl to the outside, the show ends with Vengeance standing tall in the ring.

OOC: Thanks CQI13, great to get feedback and pleased you enjoyed the HC segment, which was one of my favorite to write.

You have a lot longer for predictions, this time, as well - next Tuesday is the next show. But the PPV's only 2 days after that, so if anyone wants to predict that early, I've put quick picks up for announced matches for both shows.

From http://www.wrestlingreviewer.com

First SWF show of 2009 took place last night, you gotta believe I was watching it. Here’s my ratings and thoughts, feel free to discuss.

Opening credits: A

Money over Enygma and McClean: B-

Runaway Train attack on Christian Faith: A

Valiant over Giedroyc and Roberts: C-

Lobster Warrior apologizes to Emma Chase: C+

Retro and FAG dance to impress Ana: C

Garcia over Retro: C+

High Concept give away Rich’s cash: C

Eisen over Bart Biggz: B-

Richard Eisen announces Lobster Warrior vs Vengeance: B+

Vengeance over Lobster Warrior.

Vengeance/Bruce staredown: A*

Faith vs Remo draw: B

Mass brawl: A

Closing credits: A*

B overall, 3.16 rating on TV.

Random thoughts:

  • Most observers agreed Rich Money wasn’t up to his usual standard last night; the match was notably better when Enygma was wrestling against Squeeky McClean with the current champ on the outside.

  • FAG vs Retro was a strong contender for best match of either of these young men’s careers – the pair seemed to work really well together, and there were some great sequences. It’s a match that will surely be repeated in the future, possibly much higher up the card.

  • The HC segment has divided fans, with many complaining that stealing money isn’t very babyface-ish. My response is “Hey, heard of Robin Hood?” On the plus side, Groucho and Dawn look really comfortable together and we’ll hopefully see the cheerleader taking more of a prominent role in HC segments, rather than just popping up occasionally as she has done over the past few months.

  • Vengeance and Lobster Warrior was a spotfest, with several fans noticing the cartoonishness of the match. Lobster was a particularly bad offender, at one point effortlessly pulling off a moonsault just moments after Vengeance had brutalized his right leg for several minutes. On the plus side, guest commentators Angry Gilmore and Jack Bruce kept the spotlight off the lack of selling with some great back-and-forth banter.

  • The Faith/Remo match never hit the heights expected of a Christian Faith bout. He and Remo just didn’t seem to click in the ring, for whatever reason.

From http://www.swf.com

Coming up in just 8 days time, When Hell Freezes Over! Huge, huge match-ups set to occur at that PPV include Eric Eisen continuing his war against Steve Frehley, Valiant getting his shot at Marc Dubois’ Shooting Star title, a huge four-way Tag Team title match featuring the Bumfholes, the Biggz Brothers, the Pain Alliance and the Wild Samoans, Brandon James against Lobster Warrior

And of course, our massive main event, as Jack Bruce defends his World title against the man they call Vengeance!

But first, we have one more episode of Supreme TV to get through, and several matches for next Tuesday are already announced!

Brandon James and Squeeky McClean will be taking on High Concept. But will they be alone? In addition to the presence of color commentator Emma Chase, who doubles as Big Money’s manager, Rich Money is said to be absolutely furious after the tag team gave away about $50,000 of his money last week to fans queuing for merchandise. HC may need to watch their backs…

Kurt Laramee will be in action at When Hell Freezes Over, competing as part of a four-way tag team match for the Tag Titles. But he’ll prepare with a singles match against Eric Eisen’s opponent at the PPV – Steve Frehley!

For the second week running, Lobster Warrior will go up against a mystery opponent. Last time around he got beaten by Vengeance – can he be more successful this week?

There’ll be another title match, following last week’s exciting bout for the North American belt. This time, Marc Dubois defends against Frederique Antonio Garcia, who’s coming off a hot win against Robbie Retro last week – although only thanks to a handful of tights.

Enforcer Roberts, will be in the ring as well, going up against Greg Rayne.

And more to be announced, with Christian Faith telling us that he will have a challenge for Runaway Train after Train’s heinous attack last week!

Angry, rumor has it that your return to in-ring competition is nearing?</p><p> </p><p> AG: Damn right it is, Peter. And as soon as I’m back – which will be in just a few short weeks – I’m taking my shot at that World title, WHOEVER has it after Thursday’s When Hell Freezes Over.</p><p> </p><p> EC: As most of our viewers will remember, Angry won that shot in a battle royal at last year’s Supreme Challenge, but got injured before he could take his chance to win the title.</p><p> </p><p> AG: Yup. But hey, it’s given me some time to scout out the main men Bruce and Vengeance, and you have to believe I can beat either of them, Emma.</p><p> </p><p> EC: Kicking things off here, my man Brandon James teams with Squeeky McClean, going up against High Concept. Stroll in the park here for Big Money, believe me.</p><p> </p><p> PM: I’m not so sure, Emma. No question that James and McClean are excellent competitors, but so are High Concept, with the added advantage of lots of tag experience.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="22963" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <span>http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/BigCatBrandon_alt1.jpg</span><span>http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/SqueekyMcClean.jpg</span><span>http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/ElmoBenson.jpg</span><span>http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/GrouchoBling.jpg</span></p><p> <strong>BRANDON JAMES and SQUEEKY MCCLEAN vs HIGH CONCEPT</strong></p><p> </p><p> As Michaels says, there’s a big difference in tag experience here, and High Concept make it count, smoothly double-teaming their opponents. Emma Chase is besides herself at the commentary table as it looks like her man and his partner may lose this one, and is up and down on the ring apron like a yo-yo screaming at the referee about imagined rule violations from the babyfaces. During one of these distractions, Rich Money takes advantage of the confusion to slide in and hit the Dollars from Heaven on Groucho, allowing Squeeky to make the cover for the victory.</p><p> </p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="22963" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <span>http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/ChristianFaith.jpg</span><span>http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RunawayTrain.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>FAITH HAS A PAIR OF CHALLENGES</strong></p><p> </p><p> <em>Christian Faith comes out, acknowledging the cheers of the fans. </em></p><p> </p><p> CF: Thanks, guys. Great to have your support once again. Just hope this goes better than last week did.</p><p> </p><p> You see, last week, I came out here to introduce you to three guys I believe have a great future in this sport. Three men who I was hoping would be wrestling tonight, or next week, or sometime soon. Instead, those three men got brutally destroyed by Runaway Train.</p><p> </p><p> <em> [boos from the crowd.] </em></p><p> </p><p> CF: You know what really annoys the hell out of me? Not being attacked – heck, it’s not the first time that’s happened to me. No, it was Train’s comment to one of those men – “Pay your dues.”</p><p> </p><p> See, that implies they should respect him. And when you look at Runaway Train’s achievements – 15 year veteran, 2 time SWF World Heavyweight champion – perhaps he does deserve some respect? But the thing is…</p><p> </p><p> Respect is a two-way street, Train. They should have earned your respect for all the time they’ve spent in RIPW. They deserve your respect - and I’m going to beat it into you.</p><p> </p><p> <em>[Cheers from the crowd. </em></p><p> </p><p> CF: So, here’s the challenge. In 2 days time, I’ll take you on at When Hell Freezes Over. And right here in this very ring in a new main event - I’ll team with Jack Bruce to give you a warm-up, against you and any partner you want.</p><p> </p><p> <em>[Jeers from the crowd as Runaway Train comes out, along with The Guru, to answer the challenge. Another really good show from you. The Eisen segments remind me of something, but I can't put my finger on it. Great stuff though. High Concept continue to shine in these segments, especially in Eisen's office. I want a Rich Money shirt. Tell him I'll even pay for it. Logical finish to the main event. Did you consider just a staredown (rather than a brawl) to end it, seeing at they'll meet in 2 days? Not a complaint, just curious. Keep up the good work so far.

<p>Predictions</p><p> </p><p>

Guess I'm still in time for these predictions...probably mostly wrong, but whatever:</p><p> </p><p>

WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER</p><p> </p><p>

World title: <strong>Jack Bruce ©</strong> vs Vengeance</p><p>

<em>Vengeance can still be over without the belt. And perhaps letting things simmer until at least next month would certainly build up both competitors further.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Runaway Train</strong> vs Christian Faith</p><p>

<em>Train for the win here. No need to pay off the respect angle so quickly. Plus, it will be that much more humbling if it happens later.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Brandon James vs <strong>Lobster Warrior</strong></p><p>

<em>Torn on this one. I could see a Lobster Warrior mini losing streak. But I could also see him get a flash pin/roll up/fluke win, with Brandon James just destroying him afterwards. Even with the win, LW is still the underdog, and James gets some heat back.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Eric Eisen vs <strong>Steve Frehley</strong></p><p>

<em>Eisen is the son of the boss, so he can get heat that way regardless. I'll say Frehley, just because.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Almighty Dollar</strong> vs High Concept </p><p>

<em>Some of my favorite characters, all in one match. Money has to get some revenge over High Concept for the theft, and he and Remo are the serious contenders here. HC will still be over with the fans. I would have picked HC with a fluke win, but I'm already predicting one of those, so not two on one show. And I would have, considering they got jumped the show before.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Shooting Star title: <strong>Marc Dubois ©</strong> vs Valiant </p><p>

<em>Dubois has a good character to build on, but I think he needs that belt right now.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Squeeky McClean vs <strong>Robbie Retro</strong></p><p>

<em>Robbie needs a win, and Squeeky already has one.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Tag titles: <strong>Bumfholes ©</strong> vs Biggz vs Pain Alliance vs Wild Samoans</p><p>

<em>Little build, no reason to take the belts off the champs.</em></p>

<strong>The Almighty Dollar</strong> vs High Concept</p><p>

<p>World title: <strong>Jack Bruce </strong>© vs Vengeance</p><p>

<em>possibly by DQ. Vengeance will certainly stay strong one way or another.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Runaway Train </strong>vs Christian Faith</p><p>

<em>There's more to come in this storyline yet, I'm sure, and a Train win here will further it more.</em></p><p> </p><p>

(OOC: Wow, I've now had predictions for at least one show from the majority of my favourite diary writers - amazing! Thanks, guys. :)

Also, we are proud to announce that COMING SOON is SWF Merchandise! A range of T-shirts featuring some of our favorite stars will debut in the near future, designed by the wonderfully talented CQI13.

Hope you all enjoy the show!)

WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER!

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/PeterMichaels.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/EmmaChase.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/AngryGilmore.jpg

PM: Ladies, gentlemen, children of all ages, welcome to the first SWF pay-per-view of 2008!

EC: Joining us once more, for possibly the last time, a man who’s just a few weeks away from returning to his rightful place in the main event scene – just below my Brandon James – Angry Gilmore!

AG: Yeah, you got that nearly right, sweet thing.

PM: And what a card we have for you! Up later, Squeeky McClean takes on Robbie Retro in a match just added! Plus, the advertised bouts between Shooting Star champion Marc DuBois and number one contender Valiant, Miss Chase’s consort Brandon James and the guy who – for some reason – is enamored of this lady, Lobster Warrior!

EC: Hey, he may be a moron, but he’s a moron with taste.

AG: Don’t forget that big tag match, Peter.

PM: Indeed not! Defending champions the Bumfholes take on not one, not two, but THREE other teams as they clash with the Biggz Brothers, the Pain Alliance and the Samoan Wildboyz!

AG: Speaking of tag action, after the horrendous beatdown they suffered at the hands of Remo two days ago, can you believe those idiots High Concept WANTED to take on the Almighty Dollar? They’re morons!

EC: And their girl’s a slut!

PM; High Concept are a pair of gifted competitiors, whatever you two may think of them as people. But in addition to all of those matches, we have a phenomenal main event, as Runaway Train goes up against Christian Faith, and Jack Bruce defends his World title against the monster Vengeance! SWF – where you always get the most bang for your buck!

AG: And we’re right into the action, with the one match no-one’s mentioned yet – as the boss’s son Eric Eisen takes on Steve Frehley!

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/EricEisen.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/SteveFrehley.jpg

ERIC EISEN vs STEVE FREHLEY

This is a hard-fought brawl, with neither guy showing any inclination to use much technical wrestling. Instead, they stand and trade punches and strikes for the first few minutes, before Eisen manages to get the upper hand – despite the difference in stature - with a couple of vicious kicks to the groin. Frehley absorbs the punishment, however, and turns things around when Eisen goes to the top rope. While his first couple of attempts are successful at doing some damage, Eric showboats taunting the fans for too long before going for a moonsault, and the Dark Destroyer is able to catch him and plant him into the mat with a massive inverted piledriver! From then on, Frehley has things under control, and finishes with Frehley’s Comet for the victory.

RUNAWAY TRAIN vs CHRISTIAN FAITH VIDEO

We get to see a video highlighting Runaway Train’s three years or so in the SWF, featuring prominent footage of his Train Wreck and of the famous powerbomb off the sound stage which put tonight’s opponent into temporary retirement just a year and a half ago. The video then changes to ‘TWENTY YEARS OF FAITH’, as we see the highlights of a long and glittering career for the SWF’s most popular ever wrestler.

SQUEEKY McCLEAN vs ROBBIE RETRO

Robbie is cheered by the fans, especially the younger ladies, who love the Disco Stud, but his in-ring skills are nowhere near the level of his popularity. He starts off taking it to McClean with vicious punches and kicks, but Squeeky doesn’t need long to turn things around, working over Retro’s back with slams and nasty wear-down holds. Boston crab gets the submission victory in just over 8 minutes.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RunawayTrain.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/ChristianFaith.jpg

A TRAP IS SPRUNG!

As Christian Faith walks down the hallway backstage, he hears a scream from a darkened room. Bursting in, he looks for the source of the scream… and finds a laptop set up. Realising the trap he’s walked into, he turns around…

Straight into a spear from the monstrous Runaway Train!

As the Guru cheers on his man, though, help is quickly at hand, with tag champions the Bumfholes hearing the noise and charging in, dragging off the massive Train before he can do any more damage. Faith scrambles to his feet and the babyface trio stand their ground against the big man and his manager.

CF: Laying traps, Mr Train?

He laughs.

CF: I’ll take it as a sign of respect that you don’t think you can beat me without any help.

PM: That scream sounded kinda familiar, Miss Chase.

EC: I don’t know what you’re implying, Michaels, but I’d stop there. Brandon will be out for his match fairly soon, and I’m sure he’ll have time to talk to you if you’ve insulted me. After all, it’ll only take him 5 minutes to beat the hell out of Lobster Warrior.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/MarcDuBois.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/Valiant.jpg

SHOOTING STAR TITLE MATCH: MARC DUBOIS © vs VALIANT

This is a wild, wild, brawl, spilling outside the ring on several occasions as the two rising stars pummel away at each other for nearly quarter of an hour. Both men have several chances to win it, notably Dubois hitting a huge spinning powerslam which is incredibly close to a three count, and Valiant with a massive superplex which gets two and four-fifths, but it’s the V-Split from the challenge which eventually gets him the victory and the title, much to the crowd’s delight.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/EmmaChase.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/AngryGilmore.jpg

[Angry Gilmore gets up from the commentary table, and steps into the SWF ring for the first time in 5 months. Emma Chase joins him, to interview him.]

EC: Angry, good to be in the ring again?

[Gilmore nods, as the fans boo.]

AG: Yup, sure is, Emma. But it won’t feel REALLY good until I’m in here wrestling. The good news is, that won’t be long. In fact, I’m planning on making my comeback in just a few weeks.

And by Nothing To Lose, I will FINALLY have the World title I should have won 6 months ago.

[The crowd jeer him.]

AG: Listen to these idiots, Emma. The most talented wrestler in the world returns to SWF, after 4 months of one injury after another, to claim the title shot I won at that Supreme Challenge 20-man battle royal, and they boo. Is it because they don’t think I deserve the shot? Hey, I outlasted Christian Faith, Steve Frehley, High Concept, Lobster Warrior, and all your other false heroes. No, I know why you’re booing. You’re booing me because you thought that maybe, just maybe, if Jack Bruce got through this night with his belt intact, you’d have another month or so of him as your champion.

[He shakes his head.]

AG: Not going to happen. See, if Jack Bruce gets through tonight with the belt, he’s got to defend against me, 2 weeks next Tuesday, on the first Supreme TV of February. And I’ll warm up with a tag match, Sexual Aggression against him and a partner of his choice, the week before.

EC: And if Bruce doesn’t walk out of here with the belt? What if he loses it to the monstrous Vengeance.

[Gilmore shrugs.]

AG: Then I’ll warm up with a tag match against Vengeance and his chosen partner, then take the belt from him. You see, Emma… you can talk about monsters like Vengenace, big stars like Bruce, or even wrestling legends like Christian Faith.

I’m Angry Goddamn Gilmore. And I can beat any of them, any time I want.

EC: One more question, Angry. Bruce is taking on Vengeance tonight. Two of the SWF’s toughest men, going one-on-one. Your title shot is whenever you want. If I’d been your manager, I’d have been advising you to challenge the winner of that match right away. Wouldn’t that make more sense?

[Angry smiles.]

AG: You mean wait for the champion to get bruised and battered, then take his belt?

[He shakes his head.

AG: I don’t need to do that, Emma. If other people want to get fellow wrestlers to do their dirty work, that’s their choice. All I need is a fair shot, and the greatest talent in the wrestling world. Because Angry Gilmore is your next World champion – and don’t you forget it!

[The pair return to the commentary table.]

TAG TITLE MATCH: THE AMAZING BUMFHOLES © vs THE PAIN ALLIANCE vs THE BIGGZ BOYS vs THE SAMOAN WILDBOYZ

This is technically under regular tag rules, 2 men in the ring at once. I say technically, as it lasts all of four minutes or so like that. Zimmy and Akima start off, Zimmy tags in Laramee fairly quickly after Akima starts to take control, Laramee gets blind-tagged by Brett Biggz, figuring that you have to be in the ring to win the belts – as it’s one fall finishes rules – and from there on, all heck breaks loose, with the ref barely even trying to control things. Major spotfest ensues, with plenty of sweet double teams, and even some triple teaming from various combinations of Bumfholes and Biggz, but the two pairs of brothers eventually let friendly rivalry get the better of them, and all four spill to the outside. Meanwhile, in the ring, the Samoan Wildboys hit a huge double backdrop to send Kurt Laramee spilling to the outside – and a massive aided superbomb/neckbreaker slam combination finishes off BSS to give the Wildboys their 3rd titles!

EMMA AND LOBSTER: A MATCH MADE WHERE? VIDEO

[We get to see footage of the Lobster Warrior vs Emma Chase and Brandon James feud, focusing on the kiss from a few weeks ago, and from Vengeance and Remo’s wins over Lobster, with a lot of footage of Miss Chase showing some skin to distract Lobby 48 hours ago.]

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/LobsterWarrior.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/BigCatBrandon_alt1.jpg

BRANDON JAMES vs LOBSTER WARRIOR

9 days ago, James had the week off. 48 hours ago, he wrestled for just a few minutes, as Squeeky McClean was in the ring for much of the tag match they fought High Concept in.

9 days ago, Lobster Warrior was thrown unprepared into a bout with Vengeance. 48 hours ago, he was thrown, similarly unprepared, into a fight against Remo.

With that difference in freshness in mind, it’s no surprise that the fans, who are all cheering on Lobster Warrior, are disappointed here. James viciously goes to work on his ribs and face, blasting away with some huge impact moves, notably a massive facebuster and a leaping tornado DDT. All the time he’s screaming at Warrior, with the only coherent words being “Don’t touch my woman!”

A Big Money Move is clearly all she wrote for Lobster, but James refuses to make the pinfall, instead dragging him off the mat and repeating the move once again, as the fans scream in fury. A third BMM has the referee warning James to finish this now or he’ll throw the match out, and James sullenly flings Lobster to the ropes, catching him on the way back with a massive running powerslam and remaining in position to cover. The referee quickly counts, and EMT’s come down to scrape a drained Lobster Warrior off the mat.

A BRIEF AL:LIANCE

[Christian Faith and Jack Bruce are watching the show on a monitor backstage, keeping an eye out for either Vengeance or Runaway Train.

CF: Confident, champ?

JB: Always confident, Christian. Vengeance may be big, tough, and supposedly scary, but he’s not the World champion. He’s NEVER been the World champion. And that means, he’s just not as good as me.

How about you? At least with me watching your back, Train hasn’t jumped you again.

[Faith smiles.]

CF: I’m glad Zimmy and Randy turned up when they did. He barely did any damage. Do I think I can beat him? Yeah.

Do I think I will beat him?

[A shrug of the shoulders.

CF: If I didn’t, there’d be no point going out there. I got Faith, Jack.

JB: And I gotta ROCK!

[The pair nod to each other, and shake hands.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RichMoney.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/Remo.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/GrouchoBling.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/ElmoBenson.jpg

THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR vs HIGH CONCEPT

Things are looking bad for the fan favourites here for quite some time, with Elmo Benson being isolated near the Almighty Dollar’s corner as the pair used quick tags and generous amounts of rule breaking to control the match. Groucho and Dawn are both cheerleading for the third of their trio, though, as the fans try to boost him on, and eventually Crane manages a desperation leapfrog to dive into his own corner and tag in Bling!

Bling comes in like a house on fire, wailing away on the much bigger Remo, then turning his attention to Rich Money. He dominates the North American champion, with Money tagging in his muscular partner, and by this point Benson has his second wind and also wants in! The babyface pair double team Remo briefly, and a Game Over from Elmo Benson is enough to get the victory, much to the heels’ disgust!

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RavenNightfall.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/Remo.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/SteveFrehley.jpg

A CHALLENGE IS MADE!

[Post-match, the Almighty Dollar are furious, and start screaming abuse at some of High Concept’s fans at ringside. One, a young lady, takes exception to this, and yells something back at Remo – who charges over and starts to threaten her. Security come out to see if they need to get involved – but she’s quickly saved by Steve Frehley!

The Dark Destroyer taps Remo on the shoulder and blasts him with a massive right hand, then drops him with a pair of headbutts. Grabbing a mic, he yells at his fallen foe.]

SF: I guess High Concept embarrassing you there must have been pretty bad, but there’s no need to pick on women. If you want a fight, take me on – next Tuesday on Supreme TV!

Remo snarls his assent, and scrambles to his feet ready to get things going here, only for security to eventually separate the pair.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/RunawayTrain.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/ChristianFaith.jpg

RUNAWAY TRAIN vs CHRISTIAN FAITH

No-one here is expecting a technical masterclass, which is lucky. They’re waiting for a straight-up brawl, and that’s exactly what they get. The pair fight for seven or eight minutes, with Train dominating, and the fans willing on a Christian comeback – and then Faith tears off his hairband, as he’s done so many time before over the past twenty years, and somehow finds the inner strength to rally. From there, it’s a standard finish for the veteran. Running lariat, diving second rope elbow drop, Irish whip, ten punch, second Irish whip, and Leap of Faith for the pinfall finish.

MAIN EVENT PREVIEW VIDEO

We see highlights of the Bruce vs Vengeance feud, notably the wild San Francisco brawl which spilled outside the arena, and Bruce hurling Vengeance’s chain off the Golden Gate Bridge, then the staredown from two weeks ago, and finally the in-ring brawl from just 2 days ago.

http://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/SkullDeBones_alt.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/ss153/JadedJay/JackBruce.jpg

WORLD TITLE MATCH: JACK BRUCE © vs VENGEANCE

Just like the previous match, this is a wild brawl. The pair are straight up fighting almost from the start, ignoring most wrestling moves for the first five minutes and just punching, kicking, elbowing and headbutting each other. Vengenace takes control, though, and hits a massive gorilla press slam which has Bruce seeing stars, then takes the fight to the outside with a huge clothesline over the top rope. Once on the outside, Vengeance sees his chair, Chief Two Eagles – and something seems to snap! Picking up the chair, the monster heel smashes it over Bruce’s head one, two, THREE times! With the ref signalling for the bell to be rung, Vengeance seems completely unaware that he’s been disqualified, and picks Bruce up – then plants him through the table with a huge Skull Krusher!

As we go off air, Vengeance looks up to the heavens, while the fans scream their disapproval.

Edit: Corrected the NA/SS title mistake - thanks Bolton!

Guest Bolton
Good show, although I'm sure DuBois/Valiant was for the Shooting Star title, and not the North American title. :p

Random Thoughts

  • The matches between Steve Frehley and Eric Eisen, Christian Faith and Runaway Train, and Jack Bruce and Vengeance all drew more complaints about selling, although SWF fans should surely be used to that by now. It was also noted that in both the first and last matches, neither of the pairs involved has the levels of ring psychology expected by American’s top fed.

  • Worryingly, there were a couple of matches which were significantly worse than expected due to wrestlers not working well together for whatever reason. Valiant and DuBois didn’t click, but neither did Runaway Train and Christian Faith. While the pair have squared off many times in the past, the advancing age of both men means that it’s harder to cover up problems now.

  • The tag title match was the bathroom break for a large number of fans, many who complained they had no interest in seeing Brett Biggz or Big Smack Scott wrestle. Those who were paying any attention to the match jeered both men, and Scott looked to be badly affected by it, screwing up even more than normal. While we stress there is no proof of the following accusation, it was alleged by several SWF personnel backstage that he was appearing extremely unstable, possibly as if he was under the influence of an illegal substance. Again, we stress that this is NOT our own opinion, and are merely reporting it as a matter of interest.

  • Vengeance is looking fairly badly hurt, judging from his performance in the main event. Time off would surely be good for him, but Richard Eisen will probably be far from keen on removing him from screens when he’s half of the fed’s lead feud at the moment.
