Just registered and still trying to get my head around the game

Best advice I can give is to think long term from the start. Any fighter who can't learn is going to be rubbish in the long term, so that is IMO the most important attribute to take. You might be able to roll a good number in it even if you don't tick the "quick learner" box when you make a fighter, but I'd never rely on that.

After that, it's about making a fighter who has at least one way to win a fight. Don't try to be average at everything cos then you won't be good at anything. Pick something to be good at and go with that, making sure to give yourself some defensive skills. No point in being a submission artist who gets KOed as soon as someone looks at him funny.

Look for some sponsors to get yourself some quick cash and look through the notes I have somewhere in this thread too, there are some people who will give you loads of cash which you'll need to get some good training. Then it's just a case of looking around and getting familiar with the site, which you'll have to do yourself. Make sure you set your fighters to train, which you can do by going to the page of the gym they are training at and scrolling down. You get the best training from coaches with the least number of people training with them... personally, I try to avoid training with anyone coash with 40 or more sessions but that's just me.

And now... to bed! I've had a long day of restoring my computer to factory settings and reinstalling stuff. I'll update the list of all of GDSers sometime soon, but since the master copy is now the last post in this thread where I done it, I'm gonna have to read stuff. Which I can't be bothered doing.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Hobbs. Hobbs tries to clinch there but Alexandersson circles away. Hobbs circles away from the clinch attempt and Hobbs counters by clinching up. Hobbs wants to break free but Alexandersson has control. Hobbs tries to pull guard but Alexandersson holds him up against the cage and eventually Hobbs drops back down to his feet. Alexandersson misses with a shot to the kidneys. Hobbs changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Alexandersson fights it off and pushes away nicely. Alexandersson closes the distance but Hobbs moves to the side and Hobbs counters by clinching up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hobbs wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch. Hobbs lands a body shot in the clinch. Hobbs displaying some good clinch control by pressing Alexandersson up against the cage. Hobbs is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Gustaf Alexandersson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Russell Hobbs. That's one minute gone in the round. Hobbs is looking to control Alexandersson's arms but Alexandersson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hobbs has his back to the cage. Hobbs with an attempt at a knee that misses. A head punch on the inside from Hobbs fails to land. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hobbs drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it. Alexandersson lands a nice knee to the body. Alexandersson with a knee to the head. It looks like Russell Hobbs has been cut. Hobbs wants to break free but Alexandersson has control. Hobbs has hold of one of Alexandersson's legs. Alexandersson is fighting the takedown attempt but Hobbs gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Alexandersson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hobbs is controlling him. Alexandersson manages to escape and get back to his feet. Hobbs looks gassed! Alexandersson lands a high kick! Alexandersson wants to clinch but Hobbs slips to the side and Hobbs counters with a nice body shot. Alexandersson has Hobbs up against the cage in a clinch. A short right from Alexandersson on the inside. That's three minutes gone in the round. Alexandersson landing some nice looking knees to the body. Alexandersson stops a takedown attempt from Hobbs. Alexandersson prevents Hobbs from breaking the clinch. Alexandersson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance. The fight stays on the outside here - Alexandersson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Alexandersson moves into the clinch successfully. Alexandersson lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Alexandersson breaks the clinch. A punch combination from Alexandersson misses. Hobbs throws a sloppy head kick and Alexandersson counters with a head kick. That will keep Hobbs thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Hobbs changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alexandersson tries to avoid it but Hobbs manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alexandersson to the ground. Alexandersson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Alexandersson cracks a nice hook into Hobbs's ribs. Alexandersson tries to clinch up and Hobbs counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. That's four minutes gone in the round. Alexandersson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hobbs is controlling him. Alexandersson uses the cage to get back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Alexandersson rushes Hobbs and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Alexandersson lands an elbow that stopped Hobbs in his tracks for a moment. Hobbs has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Alexandersson uses from the top position. Hobbs wants to sweep but no luck. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Alexandersson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hobbs is proving hard to escape from. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners. That was a close round but I would say that Gustaf Alexandersson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Russell Hobbs's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Waghlon: just looking at what you've posted here this guy should be focusing on his attributes first IMO. So your circuit training is fine. in fact you may want to throw in a day for weights or yoga in addition. It sounds like your knees and kicks are probably already higher. But also check to see how many people you're sparring with for your MT. If no one is there then you're getting nothing from it.

Just a couple of notes about Montreal for you Derek:

EWB has announced that it will be closing after holding the two currently scheduled evens. ACCBiggz indicated that he's simply run into a time issue and won't have time for the game. He released all of the fighters except for those scheduled for the upcoming events earlier this week.

The Animal Cage is no longer listed on High Street, so I'm guess it was either closed or he dropped his VIP.

And I don't think OdessieFIGHT has existed since I joined the game back in October. At least, I don't remember ever seeing it on Highstreet and it definitely isn't there now.

Oh and Pacific Championship Fighting in Hilo was sold to someone in the game. I don't think he's (the new owner) from the GDS boards

But it was the right decision, the company was going nowhere under my leadership and besides, the new owner (who have only killed one fight org so far) will probably still take all from GDS.

EWB was sold to another agent, so it will apparently try to soldier on, but unfortunately, that wasn't done until after the mass releases. Puts the new owner in a bit of a spot, but who knew there'd be people dying to run the thing?

GAMMA (Las Vegas) is going strong, got the largest active rosters in the world, rating could be better (currently #32 worldwide) , but that makes sense as we give quite allot of card time to rising stars
