TWL: The Journey Begins

Started in 1968 by wrestler/promoter extraordinare Clint Wayne, the Texas Wrestling League was one of the first territories to organize in the United States. With the only other major U.S. promotion 2,000 miles away in Boston, TWL had half the country to themselves for a brief period of time, but they stalled in early 1970 when Wayne seemingly fell off the face of the earth. No one has heard for Wayne in years

Aspiring promoter Rocky Streets held things together well for a couple years, but signed a big money contract to help Rich Eisen get SWF off the ground. TWL seemed doomed to close until the Lone Star Stampeder made a last-ditch offer to keep it running.

Though Streets absconded with half the roster to SWF, the promotion survived to the current day and most would say is stronger than ever. They feature some of the best brawlers in the business.

Since its inception, TWL, or Texas Wrestling League has featured a few of the bigger names in the industry. Not only have they employed Rocky Streets, but names like George Decolt, Derick Barnes, Jackson Andrews, and Rick Rumble have made stops in TWL.

TWL pride themselves on a product that is hard hitting, realistic, and want their workers to be know for their skills and not a popularity contest. They do allow story lines to be told, but the overall product is geared for wrestling. They have been holding two events a month on a regular basis.

Towards the end of 1975, Lone Star Stampeder wanted to concentrate on wrapping up his career on a high note if possible decided he had carried the company as far as he could. He needed to make a decision on who could take them to the next level.

Rip Chord is the hottest item in the region. But he tends to drink a lot. Could he be dependable to lead them? Nathan Crosby was known thru the land as a mat specialist before he retired. And he has had some input on the day to day operations. But he is known for playing politics, ruthless, and manipulative. Professor Nero, the man has sharp mind for booking and perhaps one day could lead an organization to bigger and better things but is even more manipulative than Crosby.

When I took over TWL back in September of last year. I implemented some subtle changes to our product. Plus we created a creative team behind the scenes to get a overall feel on the boys in the back, plus pool our knowledge on what we are hearing from the fans during our events.

We started to implement storylines in October. Rip chord was very much for it because he knew it would give him more mic time. Nero and Erick (The Lone Star Stampeder) were iffy. They were concerned in this approach, they did not want to become another SWF. My argument was not to become one sided, but to allow a more mainstream approach to wrestling in general. It would open up markets we could only dream about before. We would still tell our story in the ring. But the mic time would become icing on the cake.

Pat Deacon got word about this and he became worried instantly. Lets face it, we have pulled bugs of the grill of our cars that looked better than him on his best day. But I sold him on the idea it would work for him as well, we had The Major as his mouth piece and Pat was quickly learning on how to work the stick. Besides that most of Texas loved him no matter how he looked. He was a hero for all.

Since I have taken over the head booking situation we have had 2 people leave. One was MR Taka, AKA Shigeta Takahasi, he left to go back to Japan with Burning Hammer. Takahasi is a decent guy and pretty good worker. He just never got a grasp for American style wrestling. The other one is Nathan Crosby. He fought me verbally on just about every thing I would bring up. But I still could work with the man. Until he decided Gabriel Peterson would draw his ire. Crosby wanted Peterson to do the match his way after I said other wise. And at the end of the night egged Peterson on. The two ended up at each other throats.

Thats when I decided enough was enough and Crosby's services were no longer required. He proceeded to tell me to cram the job in some unnamed orifice. Good riddance. On the plus side of the even Gabriel became very loyal to me for some unknown reason.

Back in the Saddle

Monday wk 2, 1976

Irving Hall

Attendance: 4,011

After we cleared the ring after a few dark matches we open our show. Our announce crew of Kurt Berkley and a new hire Patrick Orton assume their positions at the announce table.

Kurt Berkly: Hello Kansas. Are you ready for some great Texas Wrestling League action?

Patrick Orton: Come one Kansas make some noise.

(Crowd starts to pop, but quickly turns to boos as Rip Chord's music hits.)

Rip Chord: All right, enough of the goody goody. It's time to give these idiots what they came to see and thats me. I have held this Texas Championship now for almost a year now. And I have knocked down everyone who has stood in my way. It's my destiny to become the greatest Texas champion of all time. But you see, I am a humble man. I am gonna give not only you imbeciles here a chance to see greatness. But I am gonna give some lucky idiot in the back a chance to wrestle me. Now bring out my sacrificial lamb, Er, I mean my competition.

Rip Chord .......................The Rev

Before the start of the match Rip held his title in the face of The Rev. He then yelled, “ You see this boy? This is the closest you are ever gonna get to this belt.” The Rev smiled at first then slapped Rip. Rip stood there for a minute and rubbed his face. Then he smiled and shook his head like, OK you do have some fight in you after all. Unfortunately for The Rev that is about all of the offense he mustered during this bout. We then witness Rip dismantle the Rev with not only one but, two Rip Chord DDTs.

Rip Chord defeated The Rev in 5:42 by pinfall with a Rip Chord DDT.

The Texas Outlaws ..................................The Heartthrobs

The start of the match we saw both team exchange handshakes as a show of mutual respect towards each other. The Heartthrobs tried to keep a fast pace for the match but The Texas Outlaws try and keep things slow and steady for them. Rudolph Gray went for a backbody drop on The Trailer Park Kid but telegraphed the move and got a knee to the head. Kid tags in Mean Mark. And thats all she wrote.

Texas Outlaws (Mean & TPK) defeated The Heartthrobs in 6:19 when Mean Mark Green defeated Rudolph Gray by pinfall with a Nowhere to Run.

Rated: D+

Kurt Berkly: Another title defense for the Texas Tag Champs.

Patrick Orton: The Heartthrobs gave it everything they had but just came up a little short.

Alex Pierce..............................Tito Bumfhole

Two of our younger guys going at it. Tito is new hire. Both of them took to the air when they could. But also showed some pretty good ground skills as well.

Alex Pierce defeated Tito Bumfhole in 6:21 by pinfall with a Piercing Wound.

Rated: D-

Kurt Berkly: Wow those two put on a great match.

Patrick Orton: Yes indeedy. Hold on Kurt, our Texas Tag champs are making their way back from the dressing area.

Mean Mark Green and The Trailer Park Kid come out. They tell us over the last couple of months The Moterheads have been running their mouths how they can take these titles away from us at anytime. Well boys lets see what you have at our next event. With that being said the sounds of motorcycles running start to come thru the sound system. Gabriel Peterson and The Knight Rider come out from the curtain. The four start to yell at each other as TWL officials come out and separate the two teams. Officials command The Texas Outlaws to leave as The Moterheads are due to compete next. As The Outlaws leave Trailer Park Kid flicks his cigarette at The Moterheads. But before they can do anything Chief Two Eagles and Floyd Bowman come out.

Floyd Bowman: Hey F***heads. You're beef ain't with them boys tonight. Tonight you get us!

Floyd "F Bomb" Bowman and Chief Two Eagles................................................The Moterheads

These four powerhouses went right for each other. Holding back nothing. The action went in the ring and out as neither team was willing to back down. The Texas Outlaws came back out and this drew the attention of the Moterheads. Both Peterson and The Knight Rider climb out of the ring to confront The Outlaws. But they lost track of the time spent out of the ring as the Ref counted to 10.

Floyd "F Bomb" Bowman and Chief Two Eagles defeated The Motorheads in 15:30 when Gabriel Peterson was counted out fighting Trailer Park Kid at ringside. During the match we also had Mean Mark Green distract Night Rider.

Rated: C

Kurt Berkly: Some real bad blood developing between The Moterheads and The Outlaws.

Patrick Orton: I cant help to feel The Outlaws may be stirring up a whole heap of trouble for themselves.

Kenzo Isozki....................................................The Masked Texas Outlaw

These two just didn't have much to offer. Don't know if it was contrasting styles or a language thing. Crowd really didn't see the missed timing from both.

Kenzo Isozaki defeated in 9:32 by submission.

Rated: D+

Kurt Berkly: Ladies and Gentlemen. I have just been informed Pat Deacon has been named the #1 contender for the Texas Championship.

Patrick Orton: Wow. Thats big news.

(Floyd “F Bomb” Bowman makes his way from the backstage)

Floyd "F Bomb" Bowman: You all know I am a fan of Deacon. F*** I have even teamed with the man on a few occasions. I was the one who took Chord to the f***ing limit 2 months ago. And have I received another crack? F*** no.

Pat Deacon comes out and asks what Bowman's problem is. Bowman tells Pat he has no problem with him, just with the the system. There are others that deserve a shot at Rip. Pat was about to answer that but Floyd just walks away.

Rated: C

Patrick Orton: Bowman if you don't recall battled Rip Chord to a time limit draw a few months back at Pistols Drawn.

Kurt Berkley: And what a match that was. But don't count out Deacon. Every time he faces Rip, he gets screwed out of the title somehow.

Larry Vessey............................................................Pat Deacon

Before the start of the match Pat extends a hand to Larry. Larry slaps Pat right across the face. Which draws the anger out of Pat Deacon. Larry tried to run away but Deacon caught him and proceeded to beat Vessey down. Eventually Deacon whips Larry into the ropes and catches him for the Perfect Press to pick up the win.

Pat Deacon defeated Larry Vessey in 5:41 by pinfall with a Perfect Press.

(Austin McCoy comes out after Deacon's match.)

Austin McCoy: Pat I mean ya no disrespect partner. But Iv got a little issue with one guy right now. That no good flea ridden varmint Nero. Over the last couple of weeks you have been watching from distance. You wait till after my match. Then you run me down like a cattle stampede with your mouth. Austin McCoy...............................................Charlie Homicide

We wait for a bit but Nero doesn't show up. Charlie Homicide comes thru the curtain and makes his way down the ramp half way. Professor Nero shows up and gives Charlie some advice. He then pulls a chair from the fans, and sets it up there in the isle. Charlie went right after Austin and almost had him pinned for a 2 count early in the match. Charlie wasn't interested in wrestling Austin. He wanted to impress Nero and choked his man constintally When Austin would try and make a come back a quick eye rack would end it. Austin was standing in the middle of the ring when Charlie bounced off the ropes for a clothesline but Austin was playing possum. He picks up Charlie and delivers a Oklahoma Slam on his man. He covers and stares at Nero as the ref makes the three count.

Austin McCoy defeated Charlie Homicide in 5:45 by pinfall with an Oklahoma Slam.

Mark "The Lariat" Krogan...........................................Professor Nero

Nero yells at Austin and tells him that aint squat. He waits for Charlie Homicide to walk past him and Nero drills him with a chair. Nero yells out again and say bring me my man now! And for Austin to sit down and watch this. Mark Krogan comes out and makes his way to the ring. As he takes of his vest to hang up in the corner Nero launches his attack. He bites his man several times on Mark's forehead to open up a wound. Nero attacks the bite mark making the wound bleed more. Austin gets up from his seat and this distracts Nero for a second. This allowed Krogan to catch his second win. Mark then mounts a serious attempt to win the match. But a well timed low blow and a quick roll up with a hand full of tights secures the win for Professor Nero.

Professor Nero defeated Mark "The Lariat" Krogan in 14:36 by pinfall.

Rated: B-

Nero and McCoy spend the next couple of minutes posturing to attack one another. Austin dives thru the bottom rope but Nero retreats out from the other side.

Kurt Berkley: Well folks thats all the time we have tonight. Hope you enjoyed the show.

Patrick Orton: Goodnight everybody and drive safely.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

As a Texan, I'm so fantastically happy to read a TWL diary. Keep it up. It's pretty good.

Thank you Josh. I have an assignment for you if you would please. Just monitor me for a bit if you will please. I am a northern boy by birth and have lived here ,most of my life. I did however live in Tennesse for a few years. Just make sure I keep a feel for Texas please.

Woot, 1975 diary!

Makes me want to start one, buuut... I'd abandon it. Long live APWF... sniff sniff...

And I'll be reading this. TWL rocks, too!

Good opening show, just as I expected. This one should be really entertaining, so keep up the good work.

Thank you to both of you gentlemen as well. I have always thought myself to be a TCW/WCW kinda guy. But the way I book tends to be more SE. I wanted something kinda ground level where I could mold it. TWL has alot of the faces I know. But I dont want to change them to a sports entertainment league. I do however feel they are a great place to focus on wrestling but still allow room for story lines to be told out of the ring as well. I hope I captured that well. Anyways gentlemen, I hope to have my next installement up in a few days. Long live TEXAS!!!!!!!! WWOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! :p

No problem. I would say mention sterotypes a couple of times, but don't over do it. We're not that bad, ya'll. :) Anyway, if you can, watch some old WCCW. That'll give you a good feel, plus you'll be entertained!

Oh, and watch Dallas. It's a great show.

Rodeo

Monday wk 4, January 1976

Irving Hall

Attendance: 3,156

Kurt Berkly: Hello Kansas. And welcome again to our show as we are ready to start this Rodeo.

Patrick Orton: Thats right folks, we are bringing you another great action packed card. We will have the Texas Tag Team defended tonight.

Kurt Berkley: That is correct. We will also have Austin McCoy take on Professor Nero as well. But first Floyd Bowman asked for a few minutes of our time.

( Bowman's music plays and he comes thru the curtain. A few smattering of boos are heard but overall he gets cheered.)

Floyd Bowman: I don't F***ing get it. All I do is bring up a F***ing legit question. Where is my title shot? Where the F*** is everyones title shot? What just because our last name ain't F***ing Deacon

we get passed over?

(Pat Deacon comes out along with Major WG Reginald. The Major is pleading with Pat not to confront Floyd.)

Pat Deacon: Look son, what is your problem anyway? You know as well as everyone here each and every time I have faced Chord I have him beat and he manages to slip out with the title.

Floyd Bowman: Well then you cant get the job done then son. Step aside and let the rest of us have a shot.

Pat Deacon: Then you and the rest of the roster as to go thru me then. Because I still say I get first crack at Chord.

Floyd Bowman: I say put your F***ing spot on the line. I say not only can I beat Chord, but I can beat you as well.

Pat Deacon: Well then lets do this. Floyd, I like ya son. You know I respect you. And I hope I have some respect from you as well. Lets see if we can get the powers to be to get us in a match. My #1 contender ship on the line.

Floyd Bowman: F*** ya. Thats what I'm talking about. Pat, thats all I'm asking for pal. Just my fair shake.

Rated: C-, C, C+

Kurt Berkley: Wow. What a start to tonights action.

Patrick Orton: Up next folks is the Texas Tag Team Championship.

The Moterheads.............................................The Texas Outlaws

The Moterheads were introduced last and stormed the ring. They quickly overwhelmed The tag champs early in the match. Order was eventually restored but The Moterheads still were in control of the match. Both Gabriel Peterson and The Knight Rider worked over The Trailer Park Kid. But the Kid catches Peterson with a drop kick that stuns him long enough for the Kid to tag in Mean Mark as Peterson tags The Knight Rider. Mark then cleans house and in classic tag action proceeds to pick up the win when he hits a Nowhere to Run on The Knight Rider at 9:57.

Rated: D+

The match is over, and the tag team champs celebrate a hard fought win. The Moterheads are in shock about having been so close to getting a victory decide that this is not over yet. They attack the Texas Outlaws. They beat the Outlaws down hard opening both members with the tag belts opening both with bloody wounds on each of their heads. After officials finally arrive do they stop their attack. The Moterheads drape the belts on the fallen champions and tell them to enjoy their time as champs. Its only a matter of time before their luck runs out.

Rated: C-

Kurt Berkley: What in the heck is wrong with the Moterheads? You guys cant lose with dignity?

Patrick Orton: What are you talking about? Could they win with Dignity?

Archie Judge...............................................................Shane Sneer

Shane Sneer tried to intimidate Archie by doing some muscle posing. Which is funny in a way because Sneer is kinda stick figured. Sure he is trim, but muscular? Archie would have non of it and wrestled his man cleanly. Sneer would get his shots in but Archie gets the win with a nerve pinch he call Martial Law. Archie Judge defeated Shane Sneer in 6:30 by pinfall with a Martial Law.

Rip Chord..........................................................Romeo Hearthrob

Rip came out previously before the match and taunted the crowd with his rhetoric about how great he is. And now its time for this weeks “lucky” opponent. Romeo came out and seized his chance to try and make a name for himself. As Rip was about to taunt Romeo, Romeo kicked Rip in the gut much to the delight to the crowd. Rip was kinda taken aback from the lack of respect the young Romeo had for the Texas League Champion. Rip sees an opportunity and pokes Romeo in his eye to stop the attack. A Rip Chord DDT later and this one is in the books. Rip Chord defeated Romeo Heartthrob in 5:43.

Rated: C

Rip Chord: Once again I have proved why I am the Texas Champion. But still I am not happy. You know what will make me happy. I am talking about the kinda happy you feel like when your ex wife and her boyfriend dies in a fiery car crash. I'm talking about when will the powers to be finally realize that this title is my title. This title signifies that I am the king of the mountain. The pinnacle of anybody else's career.

Rated: B-

The Masked Texas Outlaw comes out.

Outlaw: Hey boy! Do you ever get tired of flapping them lips? Well son, it's like this. You, me, next time in that ring.

Chord: Well, well, well, look what the cat drug in. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my next victim to add to the list of fallen.

Outlaw: Only thing that will be fallen, is the refs hand as he hits 1, 2, 3.

Rated: C+

Kurt Berkly: Bold words. Lets see if he has what it takes to back them up.

Patrick Orton: Up next folks we have the new kid, The Rev. As he takes on Alex Pierce.

Alex Pierce................................................The Rev

The Rev and Alex went at each other hard. Both attempted early pin attempts on each other. The Rev actually had Alex in trouble and looked like he was going to get an upset win. But Alex got in a series of knees to Rev's head dazing him long enough for Alex to pick up the win.

Alex Pierce defeated The Rev in 5:48 by pinfall with a Piercing Wound.

Carlos Reyes.................................................................Chief Two Eagles

Chief Two Eagles probably could have ended this one early. He would lock on a painful hold on body part only to relinquish the hold to attack another extremity. Reyes is no slouch don't get me wrong, its just that Two Chief is that much better. Reyes would get some offense in but he punched Two Eagles one too many times which ticked off The Chief.

Chief Two Eagles defeated Carlos Reyes in 9:47 by pinfall with a Tomahawk Chop.

Kurt Berkley: Another good win for Chief Two Eagles tonight.

Charlie Homicide.....................................................Pat Deacon

Charlie Homicide seems just as happy dishing out pain as much as much as he takes it. He attacks Pat before the start of the match throwing off Deacon early. But this is a wake up call for Deacon. He knows he has something to prove. Deacon fires back with stiff right hands to Homicide. An attempt is made by Homicide to regain an advantage with a eye rack. Deacon shrugs it off a clotheslines his man down to the mat. Deacon signals to the crowd it's Deacon Driver time and the fans eat it up.

Pat Deacon defeated Charlie Homicide in 6:09 by pinfall with a Deacon Driver.

Johnny Boy Tucker.................................................Kenzo Isozaki

Decent match that saw each man counter each styles nicely. Superplex on Kenzo by Tucker almost nets him a win. But Kenzo is no slouch and comes fighting back after a missed elbow drop by Tucker. Kenzo climbs the top of the ring post, then leaps off the top rope connecting with the Kezosault.

Kenzo Isozaki defeated Johnny Boy Tucker in 10:22 by pinfall with a Kenzosault.

Floyd "F-Bomb" Bowman.......................................Mark Krogan

Floyd and Mark exchanged an uneasy hand shake at the start of the match. That was about as pleasant as it got between these two. Both used plenty of stiff right hands on each other. Plenty of hard hitting to spare. Krogan looked to have the match won as he was coming off of the ropes to hit Bowman with a move. When Floyd bounced up from the mat, kicked Krogan in the gut, gave him a finger salute and flattened Krogan with a boot to the head.

Floyd "F Bomb" Bowman defeated Mark "The Lariat" Krogan in 14:54 by pinfall with a Salute N' Boot.

Austin McCoy..................................................Professor Nero

Pretty good match despite a slow tone match, Nero usually runs outside of the ring playing the afraid heel tonight and slides back in pounding down McCoy. Nero then runs off the ropes and takes town McCoy with a shoulder block and then sets up McCoy, Nero then runs across the ring and goes for the Decent into Madness but McCoy lariats Nero instead. McCoy goes to cover but gets a 2 count. Nero then decided to slide outside the ring, then grabs a chair. McCoy steps out the other side and grabs a chair of his own. The both climb into the ring with intentions to cause one another great bodily harm. Referee Sam Sparrow warns both that if they use the chairs they are getting disqualified. But they don't care and swing at each other both of them ducked causing both to miss. Sam calls for the bell.

Austin McCoy drew with Professor Nero in 14:32 following a double disqualification.

Rated: C+

After the match they are still going after one another first McCoy connects with a right, then Nero, and back and forth they exchange shots. But eventually McCoy starts to get the upperhand. Nero retreats out and looks to retrieve something in his tights. McCoy comes out, O MY GAWD!! Nero throws a fireball at Wild Boy McCoy, catching him in the face. Wild Boy McCoy immediately drops to the floor, screaming about his eyes. A host of officials charge down, and protect McCoy from any further damage. Nero is standing in the ring gloating about the damage he has caused as McCoy is stretchered out, apparently blinded.

Thanks Bigpapa, I always value your input.

Being a booker for any fed is not just about putting wrestling x against wrestler a. It's about managing ego's. All wrestlers have egos that must be stroked and pampered to in some fashion. Rip was upset with me coming into the month of January for example. He felt I was tarnishing his ability to be a top notch character with me having him lose to a count out or a dq finish. But a few victories later he is happy as a pig in slop. Overall the atmosphere from everybody backstage is very good.

We tried a different approach this month. We have been running a on tour schedule where we have made stops in the South West, Mid West, and South East. These stops have ate into our profit margins but have produced some encouraging results. The verdict right now is to continue the tour as long as we still make some money.

At first there was a little resistance to going on the road but then the checks were issued on those working on the tour. Now we get volunteers on regular basis.

Worker contacts that were up were as follows, Shane Sneer, Sam Sparrow, and Pavel Landis. Sneer might not be cut out to be a wrestler. He has talent, but not for sure if its in the ring or not. Sam Sparrow is a top notch referee even though he makes a ton of money for the size of a fed, I feel he adds legitimacy to us. Pavel Landis in a question mark as well. I really haven't had the time to come up with anything for him yet. So perhaps signing him to another contract might not have been the best course.

Did I mention about managing egos. I had learned from an outside source that Professor Nero had set up a meeting for Shigeta Takahasi to join Burning Hammer. I was not aware that the two had developed a friendship. I confronted Nero on this and he told me he did set it up but not as a disrespect to me or too TWL, Takahasi was not happy about being in the states. He just could not follow the thinking behind American wrestling. The short time that Takahasi was here he did say to Nero I was the best one he had worked for, but it just was not enough. The calling to go home was to great. His intentions were good, but I should have been informed of this. Nero agreed and assured me he would not go behind my back again.

Regional wars raged on. We finished 2d in the Midwest, 2d in the Southeast, we remain untouched in our home area in the Mid south. So far our plans are working well and we are growing a fan base outside of the Texas area. We will not forget our home, We only wish to leave a little of Texas all around.

Team Texas..........................................................The New Zealand Game Hunters

Just a good old fashion tag team match. The Game Hunters worked over Archie Judge early in the match. Archie catches a break and tags in The Lone Star Stampeder who then works over the Game Hunters. But Croup pokes The Stampeder's eyes to regain the edge back for his team. The Stampeder catches Vandemar in a belly to belly suplex and crawls to Archie to make the tag. Archie comes in and starts to work over Vandemar. Croup comes in and is meet by The Stampeder who clotheslines him out of the ring. Archie then sets up Vandemar up for the Martial Law.

Johnny Boy Tucker................................................Larry Vessey

We pick up towards the end of the match. And we see Vessey stomping on Tucker who is crawling around the ring away from his opponent. Vessey plants Tucker with a hard kick to the sternum, causing him to roll over, and the crowd gives heat. Vessey roll out to the outside and folds one of the steel chairs, and slides back into the ring. Vessey bangs it off the mat. Vessey then looks to the crowd to make sure they are noticing Tucker gets to a knee a plants a solid right hand to the gut of Vessey causing him to drop the chair. Tucker starts to pound away at Vessey. Tucker waits patently for Vessey to get to his feet than lands a devastating Power Lariat to secure the win.

A very fast paced match with all kinds of action. Alex Pierce hits a spinning elbow on Carlos and irish whips him off of the ropes. He goes for a standing dropkick but Reyes doesn't come back off the ropes and Pierce goes crashing into the mat. Reyes then goes for a elbow drop but misses. He then comes off of the ropes and hits a dropkick before heading to the top rope. Pierce then lands a Piercing Wound to pick up the win.

Patrick Orton: Come on folks lets give them a hand.

Pat Deacon comes out with Chief Two Eagles and his manager Major Reginald.

Pat Deacon: I have got a match real soon with one of the most dangerous teams here in TWL. I have a top notch partner in Chief Two Eagles. And all I can think about is you Floyd Bowman. You see me and you have had some wars where you and me were on the same side. But I think somewhere along the way you have taken one too many shots to the head. You want my shot for the Texas Title. You gonna have to take it from me. And I promise you this Floyd, I will fight you with everything that I have. And Rip, you had better get ready. Because I will beat you perfectly in the ring. And retake my title.

Pat Deacon and Chief Two Eagles w/ Major Reginald............................The Knight Riders

What would probably be a main event almost everywhere else, gets a lower spot today. Both teams went all out. Some blood was spilled as well. Peterson used one of his kicks to open up blood from Deacons nose. But it still was any mans match. Floyd Bowman came down to ringside and this distracted Deacon. Even though he may not have interfered directly Bowman did cause Deacon and Two Eagles to pay attention to Bowman than the match. The end saw The Knight Rider pin Pat with a Eagle's Wings. After the match Chief Two Eagles stood between Floyd Bowman and Pat Deacon. Pat squarely blamed Floyd for the loss. Floyd responds by saying he was just there scouting. Two Eagles tells Floyd he should not have came down and he should just leave now.

The Motorheads defeated Chief Two Eagles and Pat Deacon in 15:08 when The Night Rider defeated Pat Deacon by submission with an Eagle's Wings.

While the above argument is being settled The Moterheads make their way over to the announce table. They tell us they just knocked off two of TWL's main guys. They want another crack at the tag belts.

Leon Williams.......................................................Professor Nero

Leon Williams gives it his all in this matchup, trying to prove himself with a victory over the demented one, Professor Nero. Nero midway into the match low blows Williams, then takes off the turnbuckle pad. This would buy time as the ref would try and put back on the turnbuckle pad allowing time for Nero to choke Williams down. Williams however kept trying to fight back, with a couple of roll ups. Nero then kicks Williams in the gut allowing him to land a Nero Neckbreaker.

Professor Nero defeated Leon Williams in 6:18 by pinfall with a Nero Neckbreaker.

Kenzo Isozaki.......................................................Mark "The Lariat" Krogan

This is a highly competitive matchup. Mark used his power to take an early advantage. But a thrust to the throat quickly changed the complexion of the match. Mark would power out of a couple of pin attempts but the longer the match wore on the faster Kenzo seemed to be. The end saw Kenzo with a short armed clothesline in the corner drops Mark down to the mat. Kenzo goes to cover with his feet on the ropes to pick up the win.

Kenzo Isozaki defeated Mark "The Lariat" Krogan in 9:32 by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage.

The Masked Texas Outlaw.............................................Rip Chord

After that is said The Masked Texas Outlaw goes inside the ring and starts to pump himself up for his matchup. Rip Chord's music hits and he makes his usual methodical way down to ringside, taunting fans at every chance he gets. The two warriors go nose to nose and start jawing at one another. Chord shoves The Masked Outlaw out of the ring. The masked man flies back into the ring and the match begins, and in which is a very competitive match, but Chord seemingly kept it at his pace and had somewhat control all the way in the match. Towards the end, Chord takes full control of the match, and has The Masked Texas Outlaw down in a sleeper hold.

But he begins fighting back, and the crowd starts clapping and stomping building up the masked man. The Masked Texas Outlaw slowly comes up to his feet with Chord holding the sleeper in still, and all of a sudden on his feet Outlaw continuously elbows Chord in the chest, knocking the wind out of him and breaking the hold. Outlaw runs towards the ropes, and bounces back off them, only for Chord to try and catch him with a clothesline, but Outlaw goes past him. Outlaw comes back at Chord, and nails him with a shoulder tackle taking him down. Outlaw turns another direction and shoots off the ropes again, and hurdles over Chord, but as he flies past Chord pops up. As The Masked Texas Outlaw comes back to Chord, Rip kicks him in the gut. Rip calls for the DDT and lands it. He covers but before the ref can count to one Chord picks his man up. BLAM!, another Rip Chord DDT.

Rip Chord defeated "Cowboy" Clint Wayne in 9:51 by pinfall with a Rip Chord DDT.

Cheap bump I'm sorry but life has been little bit busy. Anyway I have the card almost done and should have it up tomorrow night. I have a couple of matches that I felt it would be better to tell the story in the ring than with the promos that I have been doing so this one might look a little bit different. All in all I am happy with it and I hope you will be to.

Mark "The Lariat" Krogan.....................................Rip Chord

Mark Krogan comes out and Rip shakes his head. Rip tries to back out of the match and pleads with the ref not to call for the bell. Krogan circles around to try and get behind Rip but he is to fast. Chord then goes out to the announce table and takes the hammer so they cant ring the bell. Rip gloats like haha you cant start the match if the bell don't ring. Krogan comes out and axhandles Rip causing him to drop the hammer. DING, DING, we have the official start. Rip plays the cowardly heel ducking out of ring every chance he gets. Krogan gives chase and does land several hard shots. But this strategy by Rip seemed to take its toll on Krogan as he was getting winded from chasing Rip.

Rip Chord defeated Mark "The Lariat" Krogan in 8:02 by pinfall with a Rip Chord DDT.

Kurt Berkley: Krogan gave it everything he had but just came up short.

Patrick Orton: Maybe it was more strategy than anything else. Rip made Mark work for every shot he took.

Kurt Berkley: Hold on folks we have word that Austin McCoy is coming out next.

Austin McCoy comes out and he has his right eye bandaged up from the fireball attack by Nero at the last show.

Austin McCoy: Look at me you sissy boy. What kinda fruit cake throws some fire at a grown man? Nero you are yellow egg sucking dog. The doctors say I shouldn't take this match with you tonight. But you know what? I don't run from anything now you yellow bellied coward.

Dennis McCloud.......................................................Vandemar

Vandemar just toys with McCloud by over power him most of the match. Dennis blocks a shot by Vandemar and quickly fires off a few rights and lefts on the big man that staggers him. A whip into the ropes by McCloud on Vandemar. McCloud sets up for a backs body drop. O no, he telegraphed that a bit early as Vandemar comes off and punts Dennis's head. Fair Catch anybody?

Vandemar defeated Dennis McCloud in 6:22 by pinfall.

Leon Williams.....................................................Kenzo Isozaki

This wasn’t a squash as most of the fans expected it to because Leon Williams got quite a lot of offense in. Isozaki and Williams were even in the beginning of the match-up, with Isozaki going for a headlock, but Williams countering it into a headlock takeover of his own. Leon even went over in an elevated chin lock, trying to force Isozaki to tap. But Kenzo doesnt tap and starts to take control. He nailed a series of chops, followed by a dropkick and finally a spinning heel kick. He only got the two count. Isozaki goes for a spinning kick but Leon ducked and nailed Kenzo with a spinning kick of his own. Williams went up to the top turnbuckle and wanted to connect with a huge cross body but Kenzo caught Williams in mid-air and nails him with a fall awayslam. From that point on Kenzo kept on dominating the match-up.

Kenzo Isozaki defeated Leon Williams in 6:24 by pinfall with a Kenzosault.

Austin McCoy.................................................Professor Nero

McCoy comes to the ring after Nero is there. McCoy's eye is still bandaged up. Nero is practically salivating over himself as he cant wait to get his hands on McCoy and that eye. McCoy sensing that Nero would rush at him sidesteps the rush and bangs out a stiff right hand onto Nero that staggers him. A right, another right, and one more sends Nero to the mat scrambling. McCoy looks at Nero, and then takes off the bandage.

Nero is shocked as McCoy hit’s a kick to the head in the corner. McCoy picks up Nero and connects with a running bulldog that drives Nero face first into the canvas. McCoy turns Nero onto his back and covers him. The referee drops to the canvas and starts the count. On the count of two and half, Nero manages to lift his left shoulder up off of the mat. McCoy gets to his feet and Nero begins to get to his. McCoy hooks Nero and goes to a double under hooked back breaker. Nero however is to heavy and fights out. Nero nails McCoy with a right hand over the previously injured eye of McCoy. Nero comes off the ropes with a devastating clothesline.

Nero covers and hooks the leg. The referee is out of position and has to run around Nero to make the count. McCoy manages to get his shoulder up off of the canvas. Nero is angry with the referee and calls him on it. Nero is jaw jacking with the ref as McCoy gets to his feet and rolls up Nero. But only gets a 1 and half. Both get to their feet at the same time. McCoy rushes at Nero but is floored with a elbow to the eye. A cover by Nero with his feet on the ropes. But the ref sees it and demands Nero to wrestle on.

Nero slams his hands down on the canvas in anger. McCoy is on all fours. Nero lands a kick to the ribs, then another and another. McCoy is writhing in pain. Seconds later, Nero drops an elbow across McCoy’s chest and covers. He manages a two and a half count. Nero gets up and he allows McCoy to rise to his feet, circling him as he does, like an animal circling prey. As McCoy reaches his feet, Nero charges at him and goes for a clothesline. McCoy has it scouted and ducks the attempt. Nero turns around and McCoy kicks him in the gut. A pick up by McCoy and he lands the Oklahoma Slam and covers for the three count and the victory.

Austin McCoy defeated Professor Nero in 10:08 by pinfall with an Oklahoma Slam.

Pat Deacon comes out to cut a promo. He tells us this match between him and Floyd Bowman is not what he wants. Deacon has nothing but respect for Bowman. But WG Reginald interrupts and say that certain words between friends can not go unchallenged. Bowman comes out and goes nose to nose with Pat Deacon. Floyd says the time for talking is over. Friendship is now on the back shelf. This is about pride, money, and stature.

Floyd "F-Bomb" Bowman...........................................Pat Deacon with Major WG Reginald

After a quick and spirited exchange of fists, Bowman gets cut early on but gets the upper hand. Bowman sends Deacon into the corner and he hits it hard. Deacon stumbles out of the corner, favoring his back. Bowman is like a shark that smells blood, immediately goes to work on the back of Deacon, delivering stiff forearms across the spine. Deacon drops to one knee. Bowman runs to the ropes and comes off with a boot to the side of Deacon’s face. Bowman makes the cover, but fails to hook the leg and can only manages a two count. Bowman complains to the ref that the count was slow. Sam Sparrow disputes the claim and tells Bowman to shut up and wrestle. Bowman turns around and kicks Deacon in the ribs. He grabs Deacon around the back of the neck, dragging him to his feet. Bowman gets in Deacon’s face. Bowman tells Deacon he is better now than Deacon ever was.

Bowman slaps Deacon across the face. With that Deacon erupts, as if the slap had somehow revived him. He unloads on Bowman opening him up further with rights and lefts. Deacon sends Bowman across the ring to the apposing ropes. Bowman comes off and Deacon goes for a back body drop but Bowman spots it and catches Deacon with a kick to the face, before clothes lining him to the canvas. Bowman makes another cover, but again only gets a two. Bowman is noticeably upset, getting more and more frustrated by the fact he can’t put Deacon away. Bowman circles Deacon, waiting for him to regain a vertical base. Deacon gets up, Bowman goes for his finisher the Salute and Boot. But Deacon blocks it and again connects with rights and lefts on Bowman making his a bigger bloody mess. This looks like something right out of Texas Chainsaw here folks as Bowman is bleeding profusely. But he doesn't not quit. He keeps coming for Deacon but has no strength to back him up. Pat points out several times to the ref he might want to consider calling this match. Eventually he does and decides to end the blood bath.

Pat Deacon defeated Floyd "F Bomb" Bowman in 12:03 by stoppage when Floyd "F Bomb" Bowman could not continue.

After the match Deacon tries to help his fallen friend as the stretcher arrives. Bowman doesn't allow Deacon to help, pushing him away several times. Deacon and Reginald both tell Bowman to stop being so bullheaded. Bowman pushes away any help and staggers to the back.

Kurt Berkley: That was amazing. But what the heck has gotten into Floyd?

Patrick Orton: Thats foolish pride at it's best right there. The match is over and all Deacon wants is to help you. Come on Floyd what are you thinking about?

Kurt Berkley: Thanks again Texas for the hospitality.

Patrick Orton: Good night and drive safe.

I like the idea of the heel champion wanting to get his match out of the way so he can "get out". Unique heel approach. Might hurt the overall grade of the show a touch, as it looks like it was your strongest match, but I like the approach.

Thanks Bigpapa. You are correct it might have hit me a bit. That and perhaps I should have had Deacon/ Bowman before McCoy/ Nero match. But it felt more realistic to me.

That's a tough line sometimes in a diary game - booking for what will work best in the game versus what will work best in the diary. I suppose one can always do the "creative license" approach of booking what will result in the best grade and then switching things around for the diary, but that's never really appeal.

Another good show, BTW.

The month of February came and went. Had some success and had some failures. Yes we are still on a tour still going into The South East, Midwest, and the South West. And every show we hold the fans walk out happy. But it's killing us in the wallets. But it might have something to do with the economy. The oil embargoes are in full swing. The mood of the country as a whole are bracing themselves for some hard times. And they do not want to part with their cash on wrestling unless there is good reason to. We must do something or we are going to die a slow and painful death and before ever known as a regional federation. There is too much talent here, and the product is to good to allow this to happen.

I kicked around an idea that may be a solution. The National Alliance of Wrestling have contacted us numerous times in wanting us to be a member. It is a good enough idea in theory. But I have a gut feeling that there are a lot of politics involved in this. They want a straight 15% gate for anytime “Their” champion rolls in. But it would allow some of the bigger names to roll thru the area.

The mood from the boys is still high. Everyone is still happy but I did have a couple of incidents from Larry Vessey. One time him and Patrick Orton had to be separated because of a joke that went wrong. Although I had a feeling Orton was the one who started it, It was Larry who was seen going after Orton. I pulled Larry off to the side and tried to dispense a little fatherly advise. Kids now a days just don't appreciate experience in life and I got the dreaded “Whatever” attitude for my time.

Larry the very next show got into it with Shane Sneer. OK the fatherly approach is out the window. Get your ass over here Vessey. I found myself pulling my punches this time as I don't really like being negative. But sometimes you just have to kick a worker in his butt verbally to get results. He took the dose I gave in stride, or so I thought. He has been heard backstage still chomping at the bit on how I treated him.

Pat Deacon's contract along with a few others are set to expire soon. I asked Chord and Two Eagles if they thought Pat would resign. Chord told me Pat was happy with us and would honor his commitment. Again I asked would he resign. And again was told he would honor his commitment. This is getting me nowhere. I need to talk to Pat myself.

I was contacted by Edmund Jackson. He said his son was entering the world of wrestling himself. And requested I watch him in action. I made no promises of a contract offer but I would extend as a sign of respect to watch his kid in a match. You know what? The kid has some talent. I asked Edmund why me? He told me he has heard some positive things in TWL's camp that this is the place to be. He however asked me one favor. Everyone knows that Rip has penchant for drinking. Even though I have yet to experience any troubles out of him. Edmund Jackson asked that I watch over his son. From one father to another. I told Edmund I would do my best.

Rip Chord's music hits and he struts down taunting as many people as he can.

Rip Chord: What do you want little man? I have proven that I am the most dominate man in wrestling right now. And if anybody is wanting a title shot your gonna have to show your metal, and climb the ladder to get to the top. There I will push you back down and you can start the process all over again. It's good to be king.

Kurt Berkley: That's where you are wrong sir. You will be wrestling, and that match is next.

Rip Chord: WHOA! Whoa, hold on there pip squeak. I ain't wrestling anybody tonight. Where's Larry at? GRUBB, get down here man I need ya.

Kurt Berkley: Larry isn't here tonight. He is out of town. Besides that, it doesn't matter. TWL ownership has decided on making some changes around here. One is your belt. You will be defending the Texas Championship against two mystery opponents. One tonight, the other in two weeks. Your opponent tonight if you would please.

Rip Chord.......................................................The Shaman

The Shaman is introduced and Rip's mouth just drops open. Rip is clearly shaken by this event and gets dominated early in the match. Rip almost ended up gaining control with a low blow and rake of the eyes. But The Shaman fought back. Shaman almost had the match won with a Peyote Plunge attempt, but Rip moved out of the way at the last second. But this wasn't enough to keep The Shaman down. Rip finally got some momentum of his own after reversing a DDT into a suplex. From there, Rip gathered some momentum before finishing The Shaman off with his Rip Chord DDT.

Rip Chord defeated The Shaman in 9:55 by pinfall with a Rip Chord DDT.

Rated: B

Patrick Orton: Wow, what a great match to start the evening. Where did they find The Shaman? No one has heard of him since he left SWF.

Kurt Berkley: I told you, Ownership. They give me notes to pass on.

Patrick Orton: Any word on the next opponent?

Kurt Berkley: You will have to find out when the rest of us do.

We introduced a new device where we can show things on a huge screen. We are calling this device The Texastron. On it we show some highlights from the Nero VS McCoy match. It's a little grainy but we can still make out pretty well on whats going on.

Alex Pierce.........................................................Leon Williams

Alex dominates most of the match, working over the neck. The match is running along as smooth as it can be at the five minute mark, when Leon pulls out a cross body block. However, Alex rolls through the cross body on the landing. Alex almost gained the victory there. But Leon kicked out at 2. Alex picks does however land a Piercing Wound.

The Motorheads.......................................................The Texas Outlaws

The Texas Outlaws come out slowly. Both of them look sore from the beatdown earlier. The Knight Rider nails Mean Mark with a sidewalk slam. He comes off the ropes, but The Trailer Park Kid kicks him in the back. He turns around, but The Kid drops down to the floor. The Knight Rider turns around and gets hit with a dropkick that sends him out of the ring. Mean Mark tries to get out, but the ref stops him. As they argue, Kid stomps away at Knight Rider, until he rolls him into the ring. Mean Mark covers him, but Knight Rider kicks out. Mean Mark then grabs Knight Rider's arm and twists it. Knight Rider grabs Mean Mark by the hair and tosses him off. The ref yells at Knight Rider for doing so, but Knight Rider ignores him and gives Mean Mark a vicious uppercut. He throws Mark off the ropes and tries a big boot, but Mark rolls under and clips Knight Rider's knee, dropping him down to one knee.

Mark tags in Trailer Park Kid, who goes to the top rope. He goes for a missile dropkick, but Knight Rider lands another uppercut. He goes over to Gabriel Peterson and tags him in. Peterson then catches The Kid in a spinebuster, then takes him by the hair. He lands rights and lefts, then whips him into the ropes. Paterson bends over, but The Kid kicks him in the chest, then tags in Mark. Mark kicks Peterson in the stomach and gives him a vertical suplex. He rolls the hips and gives him another, and on the third one, Peterson is able to reverse it and deliver a powerslam. He goes off the ropes and drops the elbow, and goes for it again, but Mark rolls away. Mark hits a DDT, then tags in The Kid. As he makes his way to Peterson, Peterson lands a jab to the throat. He then delivers a powerslam, and signals for the Bermuda Triangle. Kid does his best to fight out, but its to much as he finally is forced to tap!

The Motorheads defeated Texas Outlaws (Mean & TPK) in 9:48 when Gabriel Peterson defeated Trailer Park Kid by submission with a Bermuda Triangle. The Motorheads win the TWL Tag Team titles.

Charlie Homicide...................................................The Lone Star Stampeder

Once again Homicide looks like he is more interested in issuing out pain than winning a match. Scratches and choke holds really put The Stampeder in the corner. But Stampeder eventually puts it away with a Texas Tumble.

The Lone Star Stampeder defeated Charlie Homicide in 5:48 by pinfall with a Texas Tumble.

Jason Jackson..........................................................Timberwolf w/ Professor Nero

The match is competitive with both men dominating at different stages throughout. Professor Nero stayed out of the match choosing instead to stand near the announce table and shout remarks at Timberwolf. The finish came when Jackson went for a cross body off the top rope, only to be caught in mid air by Timberwolf. Timberwold used all of his strength to deliver a fall away slam. As Jackson struggled to get to his feet, Timberwolf charged at him, nailing Jackson with a huge boot to the side of the head, seemingly knocking him out. And just for spite Timberwolf landed a End of the Hunt, he covered for the three count and an impressive victory.

Kenzo Isozaki.............................................................Mark Krogan

This match has been very competitive with both sides dishing out plenty of offense. Krogan is in control and has a sleeper hold locked in on Kenzo who appears to be fading. Kenzo drops to one knee. Kenzo battles back to a vertical base. Krogan appears panicked and tried to sink in the hold even more. The referee checks the hold and deems it a choke. He starts a count that forces Krogan to break the hold. Immediately after the referee stops the count, Krogan locks in the sleeper yet again. Kenzo however has caught his breath and nails Krogan with three elbows to the mid section. Kenzo gets free, runs to the ropes and hit’s a springboard elbow that catches Krogan in the jaw. Kenzo then goes to the top rope, and delivers a Kenzosault on Krogan to pick up another win.

Kenzo Isozaki defeated Mark "The Lariat" Krogan in 10:29 by pinfall with a Kenzosault.

Pat Deacon...................................................Shane Sneer

Shane wanted to do a flex off between him and Pat. The crowd obviously was solidly behind Pat which infurated Shane. Pat turned his back on Sneer to thank the crowd. Sneer ran up on Deacon, spin him around and sucker punched Pat with everything he had. Pat turned his head and rubbed his jaw. Then he went after Sneer. Sneer ran and shrieked like a little girl. Eventually Deacon did get his hands on Sneer and issued punishing blow after blow on Sneer. But out of no where Floyd "F-Bomb" Bowman made his way thru the audience. He crawled in the ring and attacked Pat from behind with a beer bottle. That blow knocked Pat down to his knees. Bowman landed kick after kick to the back of Pat's head. It was only a few seconds before Deacon laid in a pool of his own crimson mess.

TWL High Noon.

Monday wk 4, March 1976

Irving Center

Attendance: 2,414

Kurt Berkley: OK folks, here it is. I hate being the center of attention so I will give this to you now. Over the last few weeks we have witnessed The Texas Champion Rip Chord, supposedly defend his title against worthy opponents but unranked non the less. But over the last couple of weeks TWL management wanted a change to this. They wanted to bring you the very best of TWL action. Now I understand that this has become muddled with the Bowman/Deacon fiasco. But we here in TWL still want to bring you championship caliber matches for your enjoyment. So with out further delay, we announce tonights main event will see Rip Chord defend his title against, Chief Two Eagles.

Rated: C

Patrick Orton: Wow, That is gonna be great. Hello folks and welcome to another great night of TWL Action. My cohort as you may have heard just announced our main event.

Rip Chord's music hits before Kurt could exit the ring. He is being led out by his advisor Larry Grubb.

Larry Grubb: Hold up there big fella. When Rip called me last week and told me how TWL is trying their best to screw the champ here out of his belt. I just had to comeback here and insure that does not happen.

Rip Chord: You see Kurt, it's like this. I don't think you the authority to make the matches. I think you are on some personal quest to make a name for yourself. And you want to do it on my expense.

Kurt Berkley: Think what you will. You see management has gone over this with their legal department and are assured that they do have the authority to make this happen. But also know this, I am just a mouth piece. The management team in place now does not want to have a visual face. Only a presence.

Larry Grubb: If you don't have any legal documents to back up this match making scheme of yours, this match is not gonna happen.

Kurt Berkley: Ask and you shall receive.

The Master and The Apprentice.................................The Motorheads

Mark Krogan immediately began to hammer in on Gabriel Peterson before tagging Johnny Tucker in who did some right hand smashing of his own. Tucker took care of Peterson with some shoulder thrusts before hitting a back elbow on Peterson and booting him n the forehead. Krogan tagged in and the two double teamed Peterson and hit a big double shoulder block. The Knight Rider ran in the ring only to eat a bunch of right hands. The tag team champs step out from the ring to regain some composure. Usually they are the ones in issuing out this punishment.

Eventually Knight Rider gets the initiative and is stomping away on Krogan on the mat. Rider went for a cover but only got a two count. Rider went back to the stomps and went for another cover and again, got a two count. He slapped on the rear chin lock before hitting a back breaker.

Peterson tagged in and hits head butt on Krogan. Another quick tag to Rider. Rider slams Krogan’s face off the buckles before slapping on a arm bar. Peterson tagged in and then cranked on a head lock. Rider once again tags in and was pushed aside for a minute by Krogan. But Rider cuts Krogan off before he can tag Tucker and lands a bulldog.

Peterson gets tagged in and is met with a stiff right by Krogan. This is enough for Krogan to hot tag Tucker. Tucker hits a spine buster on Peterson. Rider comes running in and is met with a clothesline. Tucker is working over Peterson as The Knight Rider gets to his feet. Krogan is still trying to catch his breath when Rider comes over and punches Krogan casuing him to fall awkwardly down on the floor. Rider and Peterson work over Tucker. The ref regains control of the match as Peterson locks on the Bermuda Triangle on Tucker. Tucker writhes in pain but it is only seconds before he taps out.

The Motorheads defeated Master & Apprentice in 8:06 when Gabriel Peterson defeated Johnny Boy Tucker by submission with a Bermuda Triangle. The Motorheads make defense number 1 of their TWL Tag Team titles.

Kurt Berkley: What a great match to start tonights card.

Patrick Orton: Yes sir it was. An impressive first defense for the newly crowned tag champs. But I still don't like how they won them belts.

The Moterheads come over and tell us how they controlled the match from the very beginning. And this is only the start to the Motorhead reign of terror on the tag team division. Speaking of terror, they wander how the Outlaws are living in terror as they are no longer tag champs. And how busted up the Outlaws are after getting beat an inch of their lives. Out of nowhere Mean Mark and The Trailer Park Kid show up with steel chairs in hands chasing off the Moterheads. The former champs tell us its only time before they regain those belts.

Alex Pierce............................................................The Rev

The two locked horns before exchanging some near falls before having a mini-stalemate. After a series of roll up exchanges, Peirce went for Piercing Wound but The Rev wiggled out. Pierce booted The Rev to the corner before the action spilled to the outside. Pierce hit a huge running knee on the outside before connecting with a springboard cross body where both men are laid out in the aisle.

After both men get to their feet they exchange right hands. Both crawl into the ring, but its The Rev who gets up first and is able to lock in a reverse toe hold. Pierce tried to fight out and eventually did. And even hits a kick, but was quickly brought back down to the canvas with a arm drag. The Rev mounts the top rope drilling Pierce in the head before Pierce crotched him. They fought it out on the top rope before Pierce hit a big hurricanranna off the top, sending The Rev crashing to the mat.

Pierce eventually hit his running knee in the corner, but The Rev reversed the bulldog and hit a back breaker-Russian leg sweep combo. Pierce fought back quickly with some shoulder thrusts before looking for a round house kick to the head. The Rev ducked under and hit a kick of his own for a two count. The Rev hits a running powerslam. Pierce went to the outside himself and looked for the springboard lariat and connected for a two count.

Pierce looked for the Piercing Wound only for The Rev to counter him up for a fantastic near fall. Pierce quickly shot to his feet though and KO’d The Rev with a big round house right kick. One Piercing Wound later, this one’s over.

Alex Pierce defeated The Rev in 5:56 by pinfall with a Piercing Wound.

Patrick Orton: What did those papers you handed Larry Grubb contain?

Kurt Berkley: Legal mumbo jumbo. Basically it says we can match the champion against anybody we deem credible at anytime. If no defense is made we can then strip the current champion of the title. No ands, ifs, or buts.

Patrick Orton: Who is we? And are there any loop holes?

Kurt Berkley: All I can say on the we is that maybe one day you will find out. And as far as loopholes it is iron clad. Its in the bylaws in the company and is also in Rip's contract as well.

After the match is over Bowman looks like he is going to beatdown Shaman. When all of a sudden Pat Deacon shows up. Deacon makes a mad dash to the ring and Bowman sees him out of the corner of his eye and makes a retreat.

Pat Deacon: This one is not between me and you Bowman. This is a battle of good over filth. I don't know what has gotten into you Bowman. But I no longer care. You wanted my attention, well big man, ya have it now. Now I got this Kenzo Isoaki barking on my heels as well. What has gotten into people here now a days? Rip Chord: I'm not gonna cry like a baby over spilled milk. Let me tell you something about The Chief, yes he is a tough fighter, yes he is a multiple tag team champion not only here, but in Florida as well. But he has never had the championship belt with the glory like this 8 pds of gold that the Texas Championship has. Two Eagles I am forced by perhaps destiny its self to defend against you tonight. But make no mistake, this belt, this championship, is coming home with me tonight. And I have Larry going over legal papers myself. TWL Management, if thats what you want to call yourself. You want to force my hand in defending this belt. Fine, but you will find I have some pull myself. And I will force the hand of you, to show yourself. Now get out here Two Eagles, lets get this dance over.
