Fly Boys w/ Floyd Goldworthy vs. Young Guns</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

There's tremendous spirit in these four men, and for all that they're no longer top flight tag teams, tremendous skill – and a fair amount of crowd support, as these things go. They start the evening out well, getting the crowd excited, and showing a lot of speed – both teams with something to prove, and not just to the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

Harry Allen manipulates Donnie J off the apron and sets Jimmy P up, and the Blitzkrieg Bop scores the win.</p><p>

Two men come over the crowd barrier as the Guns celebrate. They slide into the ring like professionals, and they nail the Guns. Azaria pegs them as Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay with his usual encyclopaedic knowledge, and the announce team seem keen to know what their appearance here might mean -</p><p> </p><p>

And then commentary abruptly tails off as a raft of security men dogpile the ring. DaLay nails Allen with the DaLay Down and Chandler is a blur, throwing punches-</p><p> </p><p>

The sign stays up for another three minutes. Sound – the crowd's roars – mutes perhaps two seconds after the sign goes up.</p><p>

Johnny Bloodstone vs. Mikey James</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

As they introduce the competitors for this match, the announce team sound flustered and confused. There is absolutely no reference to the events before the technical difficulties sign went up.</p><p> </p><p>

Mikey James, meanwhile, is clearly not wrestling to win this one; he's just in this for the fight – specifically, a series of hard shots, whenever he gets the chance, targeting his opponent's head. </p><p> </p><p>

Mostly kicks, he seems to be looking to injure – even to maim – rather than to win; certainly, after weathering and kicking out of an assault by Bloodstone, when he puts Bloodstone down with a Scything Side Kick, he doesn't go for the cover but instead continues the assault.</p><p> </p><p>

The result, ultimately, is that when Johnny finally overcomes the assault and takes it to him, James finds himself locked into the Bloodstone Mutilation and is forced to tap out.</p><p>

<span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/AutumnGleeson.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Autumn Gleeson stands before the camera, looking a little uncertain. “The Board's Representative has asked me to say at this time that TCW apologises for the disruption to broadcasting earlier tonight, and to assure you all that Harry and Steve will receive the best medical care available on their arrival at hospital. There is...” She clears her throat. “There is no further statement on the matter at this time.</p><p> </p><p>

“However... I do have a guest tonight. My guest at this time,” and she begins to warm to her usual role, the enthusiasm flooding back into her, “made a promise at the last Pay Per View to remain undefeated until past Malice in Wonderland, by which time he had already promised to secure the Ticket to the Top briefcase by winning the Shot At the Top.</p><p> </p><p>

“Davis, these are big claims to make. I'll admit you've backed them up so far, but – well, what on earth possessed you to make them so publically?”</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/DavisWayneNewton-1.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The self-proclaimed Triple Threat smirks at the camera for a moment. “Davis Wayne Newton is a man of his word,” he begins, “and I always have been. But it's been hard for anyone out there to know that – to understand that when I set goals, I move heaven and I move earth until I accomplish them.</p><p> </p><p>

“One of my goals is to be recognised as the best there is at professional wrestling. To be held up as an icon of this sport in the way that Master Kitozon and Ed Henson and Jeremy Stone are – those giants of the past who've now stepped aside to allow young talent to rise to the forefront.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Uh,” Autumn interrupts, “Jeremy Stone is still wrestling-”</p><p> </p><p>

“Sure, if you call what he's still capable of <em>wrestling</em>,” Davis sneers. “Not the point. The point is – right now, I need legends to dethrone. So putting it out there is a good way to get them.</p><p> </p><p>

“Davis Wayne Newton <em>is</em> a World Heavyweight Champion of the future. I very well may be the next one. And my road to that title has already started, and by its end, you will know I am the best. Believe that.</p><p> </p><p>

“Because Davis Wayne Newton is a man of his word.”</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p> </p><p>

Aaron Andrews vs. Eric Tyler</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

What a brutal, brutal brawl.</p><p> </p><p>

It starts with a cheap shot by Tyler, and Andrews seems to explode. He's got a lot of issues with Tyler in his past, and a lot of things bugging him at the moment – and the result is something that only at times resembles a wrestling match.</p><p> </p><p>

Inside five minutes Andrews is bleeding, broken open by an impact on the ring post. By ten minutes in Tyler bleeds too, the result of a tornado DDT off the apron and directly onto the steel steps.</p><p> </p><p>

By the fifteen minute mark the blood on Andrews' face has stained that blonde mop of hair crimson. His eyes show whitely in the red. And yet he won't stop fighting. A spinebuster nearly keeps Tyler down, but he won't stop either. </p><p> </p><p>

The Weight of Tradition to the outside sees Aaron nearly counted out, but he makes it back into the ring at nine – and comes back to fight again. Cross-body. Dropkick. Snap suplex. Pin cover – and Tyler's out. Game Breaker – countered! The old man takes over as the announce team marvel that either man still has anything left in the tank.</p><p> </p><p>

Eric's not a strong man, but he manages to get Andrews lifted above his head – and he dumps him out of the ring! Andrews lands on the shoulders and the back of the head! Eugene Williams starts the count – but the bell sounds while he's only at five.</p><p> </p><p>

Both men have somehow gone the distance to the twenty minute mark.</p><p>

vs. Shiori Jippensha & Stephanie Wade</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Some established teams here, some not so much. In the early going the Monsters of Myth make the running, both women able to overpower anyone in the ring but their teammate. Meanwhile, the champion and her friend rely on ground work, Jippensha and Wade concentrate on a speed game, and the Leading Lights... mostly stay on the edges, watching and waiting for their moments.</p><p> </p><p>

Gorgon and Cherry Bomb combine well a few minutes in, when Gorgon boosts Jippensha into her shoulders, Cherry Bomb coming off the top to deliver a huge cutter to the suspended Jippensha, Gorgon then pinning with a single foot.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elimination #1: Shiori Jippensha & Stephanie Wade</strong></p><p> </p><p>

They take a moment to celebrate – which turns out to be a mistake, as Stephanie Wade strikes back, blasting Cherry Bomb with a superkick out of nowhere on her way out. JeriLynn Stone connects with a From Canada With Love and, with Kate Dangerous trying to block Gorgon – and the Leading Lights grab the titan's legs from behind – the champion pins Bomb, eliminating the Monsters of Myth.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elimination #2: Monsters of Myth</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Dangerous is already reeling from standing in Gorgon's way, and the Lights slide into the ring and nail a stereo dropkick to put her down.</p><p> </p><p>

In comes JeriLynn. Punches for Cox and Starr takes over, rocking her with hard elbows and uppercuts before trying a powerbomb - </p><p> </p><p>

YOU CAN'T POWERBOMB JERILYNN STONE!</p><p> </p><p>

But with Cox active, JeriLynn can't make the pin. Michelle, instead, nails her with a suplex, but not before Saunders proves unable to resist a 'Cox-blocked!' pun. It seems the announce team have fully recovered from their panic earlier.</p><p> </p><p>

The Lights combine again for a dual superkick; turning, they see Dangerous making her way unsteadily to her feet – they hit the far ropes simultaneously – dual flying shoulderblock puts Dangerous down!</p><p> </p><p>

Simultaneously, the Lights make their pins, Cox on Dangerous, Starr on Stone. At the count of two and a half, JeriLynn gets her shoulder up – but Kate Dangerous doesn't make it! Stone & Dangerous have fallen!</p><p>

Darkwave vs. Kreed</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Sammy enters the ring at the start of the match, circling a couple of times with Reed but staying out of reach of a couple of lockups. He moves around a third circle a little faster – and that allows Zimmy to hit Art from behind with a top rope bulldog.</p><p> </p><p>

Sammy exits the ring and Zimmy stomps away on Reed's head, but Art catches one of the kicks and spins him around. He tries for a back suplex, but Zimmy catches him with a lungblower on the way down!</p><p> </p><p>

Both men separate and circle – and as Reed half-turns to check he won't be bushwhacked by Bach, Zimmy charges – but Art's ready for him! Armdrag! ZIMMY LANDS ON HIS FEET!</p><p> </p><p>

Superkick by Zimmy, but Art ducks it, boosting him into a fireman's carry – Zimmy rolls through! ONE, TWO – NO!</p><p> </p><p>

Art looks to come back with a kick rush and for the first half it does well before Zimmy blocks one, coming back with a European uppercut. Reed staggers back a step, then nails an enzuigiri!</p><p> </p><p>

Rather than capitalise, though, he slips out of the ring, Greg coming in fast to replace him – but by the time he reaches Zimmy, the Darkwave man is out of the ring and Greg turns to eat a missile dropkick from Bach. Cover! ONE – NO!</p><p> </p><p>

Greg hammers Bach with six chops in a row, then stuns him with a jawbreaker. He hits the ropes – and Bach meets him on the way back with a roaring elbow! Slam! Suplex! Bach to the turnbuckle – Leg drop – Greg rolled clear!</p><p> </p><p>

Rushing kick from Greg puts Sammy on his back again and Greg promptly dives out of the ring - </p><p> </p><p>

Leaving Art Reed to vault to the top rope and springboard off in a HUGE shooting star press, halfway across the ring! What an impact! Cover! ONE, TWO, THR- NO! Reed recovers fast, immediately looking for the Dread Lock – BLOOD RUSH BY ZIMMY BREAKS IT UP!</p><p> </p><p>

Greg hits the ring himself to even out Darkwave's sudden man advantage. Things rapidly turn into a brawl, but the Kreed have a little more unity. Sammy Bach finds himself sent out of the ring – Greg pulls the top rope down, and Art Reed supplies the dropkick and the momentum. </p><p> </p><p>

Reed rises and turns to eat an enzuigiri from Zimmy, who puts him all the way down with a leaping powerbomb before turning into an elbow and a slam from Greg.</p><p> </p><p>

Greg looks around the crowd with a wild grin, spinning his finger in the air and calling for the Proton Lock. He drops to his knees – starts to lock it down - </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/MatthewKeith.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Matthew Keith is watching his brother, who hesitates – and Zimmy rakes the eyes, breaking the hold before it can be applied! Back to his feet, the Darkwave man hits the far ropes and BLASTS Greg with the Blood Rush, sending him tumbling through the ropes and out of the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Art Reed is stirring. Zimmy catches him unawares, nailing a crisp dropkick to the top of Reed's head as he rises – then a third Blood Rush for the match, the second to Reed. He drags Art a few paces from the ropes and follows up with a split-legged moonsault from the ropes, keeping him wedged down for the pinfall.</p><p>

Wolf Hawkins © w/ Phil Vibert vs. John Anderson vs. Troy Tornado</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Even as the champion is making his way to the ring, Anderson and Tornado can be seen talking quietly together, eyes on Hawkins – who's racking up a number of niggling injuries over the course of this gauntlet.</p><p> </p><p>

The bell rings, and both men strike, delivering low dropkicks, taking one of Hawkins' knees out apiece. Rising to their feet swiftly, Anderson directs traffic, pointing at the leghs and speaking, though his voice can't be picked up on camera over the crowd. </p><p> </p><p>

Together they place their feet in the back of Wolf's knees, wrap his feet behind their own knees, then drop backward, rolling back to standing again. John grabs a single-leg crab, but Troy is a fraction of a second too late joining him and Hawkins is able to twist out, grabbing Anderson as both men regain their feet and executing a beautiful twisting belly-to-belly. </p><p> </p><p>

He punches out of the threat of Tornado and then slips out of the ring, taking a short break simply to watch.</p><p> </p><p>

This... isn't the best choice. Anderson slides out after him, going punch for punch with the champion – and Troy hits the far ropes, soaring out over the top rope with a suicide tope, wiping them both out.</p><p> </p><p>

With a wild rockstar cackle, he slides a ladder into the ring, following it in there, and starts to set it up.</p><p> </p><p>

“The Triple-Threat Champion is going to make that name a reality again!” Azaria exults. Troy gets ready to climb -</p><p> </p><p>

Phil Vibert is in the ring! He's trying to stare Tornado down! Troy takes a step toward the Generation Omega manager, who flinches-</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>”NO!”</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Everyone turns to look. Wolf Hawkins has recovered on the outside enough to take in that image on the inside. Galvanised, he slides into the ring. “This is my fight!” he yells at Vibert, who flinches again.</p><p> </p><p>

Troy steps back, a wide smirk on his face, watching the entertainment. He waits until Wolf has backed Vibert into the corner, and since that means the champ's back is to the Painful Procedure frontman, he takes the opportunity and springs into life, leaping forward with a high knee to send Wolf tumbling out of the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Troy backs off and throws a fist into the air, playing to the crowd. He turns – and sees John Anderson partway up the ladder.</p><p> </p><p>

Tornado rushes up the other side, and Phil Vibert springs into sudden action, rushing across. He starts to push the ladder over – succeeds, too, but both Tornado and Anderson spot it coming, jumping off before they'd crash. They flank Vibert - </p><p> </p><p>

Hawkins nails Tornado from behind. He sets for the Wolf's Call, and Anderson gestures a 'be my guest' as Hawkins sends Tornado into the air. Troy hits hard and squirms off to one side, dropping out of the ring and to all fours.</p><p> </p><p>

John Anderson – the renowned Human Arsenal – promptly kicks Wolf in the gut and nails the Ammo Dump. He feints at Vibert - </p><p> </p><p>

- the manager bails from the ring in a hell of a hurry - </p><p> </p><p>

Anderson sets the ladder back up and starts to climb. By the time he's halfway up, he's committed; and so, with Hawkins down and unable to see his interference, Vibert returns to the ring and once again shoves the ladder over. Anderson senses more than sees it coming, reaching up and hanging onto the cable from which the belt is suspended.</p><p> </p><p>

Desperate now, Phil grabs his dangling legs, tugging at him, trying to pull him down before he can rescue the belt. The crowd voice their displeasure-</p><p> </p><p>

Troy Tornado smashes into view, knocking Anderson off the belt with a Star Maker! The Machine collapses, nearly taking out Vibert. Tornado goes for Phil - “the Triple-Threat Champion wants to stop this being a four-man match,” as Azaria notes – but Generation Omega's driving force bails from the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Troy sets to go after him, except that he notices something out of the corner of his eye – and what he notices is Hawkins regaining his feet. </p><p> </p><p>

He springs into action – whips Hawkins to the ropes – Tornado Driver blocked by Hawkins on instinct as much as anything, as he manages to snap off a headscissors but lands knees-first, in obvious pain. </p><p> </p><p>

Once again, Troy slips out of the ring, but this time it looks like his own decision to do so. He drops to one knee, keeping an eye on the action from the outside.</p><p> </p><p>

Anderson is slowly recovering his wits. He sees Wolf is active, but that his legs are once again a weakspot, and the fans can see him develop a plan.</p><p> </p><p>

Hitting the ropes, he comes off with a low dropkick to put the champ on the flat of his back, centre of the ring – and he locks down a figure-four leg lock, holding it, keeping it clamped down, taking the champ's legs even further out of the picture.</p><p> </p><p>

“This has got to be it,” Dangerous exults on commentary. “This is it, my friends – this is when the belt changes hands and Generation Omega loses its prize.”</p><p> </p><p>

Troy clambers back into the ring - and sets the ladder up directly over the two men in the hold! He takes a stomp onto Hawkins' chest, just to compound matters, as he makes the climb.</p><p> </p><p>

Phil Vibert goes a step further than before. He actually pulls Tornado off the ladder as Anderson releases the hold to squirm out.</p><p> </p><p>

“This is not a three man match,” Azaria complains. “Nothing like one. And a fresh man watching your back doesn't have to be a wrestler to cause problems.”</p><p> </p><p>

Not that Vibert doesn't have some of his own right now. He gets sent off the ropes – Whirlwind Kick! Vibert is down, much to the crowd's approval! Anderson comes in – AMMO DUMP ON TORNADO! </p><p> </p><p>

And then Hawkins strikes from nowhere, flipping the ladder up to slam it into the Human Arsenal's back. As the stepladder rocks back into place, Hawkins – <em>barely</em> – manages a Wolf's Call on Anderson, and he begins to climb. </p><p> </p><p>

It's slow, agonising progress, and by the time he's at the top of the ladder, Tornado is back to his feet. The Painful Procedure frontman climbs faster – but Hawkins has the belt scant inches before Troy can intervene, his legs giving way, sending him crashing to the mat!</p><p>

Alex...De Colt? I DON'T GET IT ALEX WHY YOU SO CONFUSING

Meh. I'm not a huge fan of ELITE, so given that I know this is a work, not too crazy about it. /shrug.

Pulling in the DeColts, though? Man, if this diary was going another year or 8 (you totally should man dew eet), I hope you don't go with the obvious Stone/DeColt rivalry.

Speaking off, where's Bazookas DeColt? (I called her Bazookas because that's a euphemism for her funbags)

Alex DeColt just wrote a lengthy screed where he condemned his real-life best friend while keeping kayfabe.

Honestly and truly, I think this was the announcement where smarks would come alive with knowing this is a work.

And having a stable come in on its own is not an Invasion.

Put another way... I genuinely don't see where this reaction is coming from, if you've been reading this whole thing.

What a night we have coming! Mayhem Midden has promised that the show will open with him addressing recent events in TCW which we haven't, as yet, been permitted to discuss. And then we'll open things with a bang - with a World Heavyweight Championship match.

Wolf Hawkins puts his belt on the line by order of Tommy Cornell against Rick Law. Can the Total Lawman put the beleaguered champion down and coincidentally win the bet between Golden Law for the first new champion?

Tag team action is scheduled to follow, as the rising duo of Acid Dragon are pitted against Tooth & Claw. People are still buzzing about the run UK Dragon gave Tommy Cornell for his money.

Frankie Dee looks to prove the School of Tradition's worth against a different traditionalist - the legend, Sam Keith. It's a tall hill to climb, but many have managed in recent years - and it's always meant big things in their future.

Tag teams return to action immediately following. The Texas Outlaws will face the new team of legends, Elemental Energy - Canadian Elemental and American Elemental!

Rick Law's tag partner also has himself a match against Generation Omega. Rocky Golden will be hoping Golden Law can make it two for two when he faces Marc DuBois...

The semi-main event will feature the first of something different. Ever the traditionalist, Sean Deeley has requested his next title defence be conducted in Best of Seven format, and Freddy Huggins will look to gain an early advantage over the champion. While technically the match itself doesn't have the title on the line, this one has real championship implications.

And in the main event two of our biggest tag teams clash. Some controversy and question surrounds the Elite Express at present for their former association with recent invaders Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay, but no one can doubt the skill of these Kings of Wrestling. Their opponents, however, are arguably one of TCW's greatest tag teams of all time - the Machines, who will be looking to avenge the injury of Marc Speed by the Express' former friends.

Prediction Key:

TCW World Heavyweight Championship

Wolf Hawkins © w/ Phil Vibert vs. Rick Law

Acid Dragon vs. Tooth & Claw

Frankie Dee vs. Sam Keith

Elemental Energy (American Elemental & Canadian Elemental) vs. Texas Outlaws w/ Floyd Bowman

TCW World Heavyweight Championship

Wolf Hawkins © w/ Phil Vibert vs. Rick Law

Nope, Law isn´t going to be the one who ends Hawkins reign.

Acid Dragon vs. Tooth & Claw

Higher on the ladders

Frankie Dee vs. Sam Keith

Dee haven´t been build enough to warrant going over legend like Keith.

Elemental Energy (American Elemental & Canadian Elemental) vs. Texas Outlaws w/ Floyd Bowman

I go with more established team.

Marc DuBois vs. Rocky Golden

Doing slighly more.

BEST OF SEVEN SERIES FOR THE TCW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - BOUT ONE

Sean Deeley © w/ Laura Huggins vs. Freddy Huggins

Pretty sure this will be 3-3 after six but I give Freddy the first one.

Elite Express vs. Machines

Tough one, Machines are slighly better but Express is aligned with Matthew and I think that it makes them more important right now.

Hawkins will keep the title until he wrestles Tommy at Malice In Wonderland.

Acid Dragon vs. Tooth & Claw

JOBBERS!

Frankie Dee vs. Sam Keith

JOBBER!

Elemental Energy (American Elemental & Canadian Elemental) vs. Texas Outlaws w/ Floyd Bowman

You know, I just can't decide. EE need to be established as a team, they've had the hot debut, but will they just job their way up the card while Horatio angsts about it? Nah, a draw here works well, putting the Elemental team over without having the Outlaws lose out. Oh, and which Outlaws will it be?

Marc DuBois vs. Rocky Golden

JOBBER TO THE STARS!

BEST OF SEVEN SERIES FOR THE TCW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - BOUT ONE

Sean Deeley © w/ Laura Huggins vs. Freddy Huggins

Start off with a shocking win for the challenger.

Elite Express vs. Machines

The Machines deserve more than they're getting.

I didn't call it an invasion. I just don't like ELITE, so the fact that they're coming in...meh. I's like you adding more Edd Stones; I don't like the characters/wrestlers much, so them coming in doesn't excite me.

That and beating people up "for reals" makes me sad.

That and beating people up "for reals" makes me sad.

I asked Blake to give me to the diary entry on the perceived 'different levels of fictionality', and I'll thus ask you the same.

You're welcome to not. But I mentioned the Invasion because, well...

Well, it was mentioned in the last diary entry that this is phase one of an Invasion plot.

ELITE aren't coming in. CGC's main players are coming in. ELITE, being heels, are coming in first.

If you go back to sudden beatdown/debuts in the diary before now, the announce team have been kayfabe surprised that the debuting folks are there under contract.

To bring in an entire promotion, we need kayfabe reason for that to happen. Tommy needs $70 million to match Vibert; kayfabe-wise, him buying CGC is thus very, very illogical.

So how do we do it? Kayfabe-wise, Chandler and DaLay AREN'T under contract, so kayfabe-wise, the reaction is stronger.

Remember when Punk's mic was cut off this summer? As a number of IWC-heads pointed out at the time - if Punk was ACTUALLY shooting, the mic cuts off pretty much at the start and the camera cuts to something else.

DaLay and Chandler's attacks got a lot more than a 7-second delay. Alex DeColt fires them by informing their kayfabe agent.

My initial response to you was what it was because... well, because you seem to be responding to something that isn't happening, and that I've dedicated a fair amount of text and two fictional site templates to demonstrating isn't happening. And this confuses me.

You are, of course, entirely welcome to think bringing in ELITE at all is a bad idea. You are, of course, entirely welcome to hold that they're bad wrestlers and/or crap characters, or for that matter that I'm writing them wrong, or what have you.

But the words I'm writing and the thing you're antsy about appear to be different things.

Bingo. That's really the only "problem" I have. I liked Punk. I don't like ELITE. Essentially, I don't like you bringing in ELITE, regardless of how you do it.

That said, once you do start bringing in...uh...the DeColts, I think those are the only guys you don't have currently that I care about...

Anyway, once you start the other half, people beating up ELITE from CGC (or whatever they do), then I'll probably like this a bit more. Sorry about my inaccurate communication of my dislike of the angle. And major props on buying them out :D

Mayhem Midden stands in the ring as the opening pyro dwindles down to nothing. He has a microphone in his hand.

“Good evening,” he begins. “Earlier this week you fans witnessed two surprising and unprovoked assaults.” He smiles slightly. “Now, this is a professional wrestling program. You are used to seeing assaults by one wrestler upon another, and sometimes I've even been known to approve. There was a time when I used to perform them.

“What made these assaults different – what leads me to stand out here and talk to you about it – is that the people who perpetrated these are not TCW wrestlers. While I'm willing to recognise that they both have some fame as professional wrestlers, from what we can tell they bought tickets like any other fan, and they came here like any other fan.

“I might approve of one TCW wrestler attacking another because it tells me there's a passion there that means, when we can get them into a match, some of you might pay to see it – and that can't happen here. Instead, three men – all of them champions either here or elsewhere before now – are in the hospital. Any matches they might want to have – they can't.

“We've discussed what to do about this, and it's been keeping our options open that's prevented me from talking about this before now. Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay are no longer employees of the promotion they'd been with for over a decade, in response to this.

“We're talking to that company tomorrow, but they can no longer discipline these individuals. It's been suggested we should call the police... Well, we might, eventually, but I'd prefer to deal with this the way this sport always has.

“Those of you with tickets might have read the small print. TCW expressly denies responsibility for what happens to you should you be stupid enough to cross the guardrail. The same is true for these guys – so listen up, in the back.

“These men have put three of ours in the hospital. If that sits bad with you... as of right now, whether you're in the match they interrupt or not, if they interrupt you are given the go-ahead to come down here and get stuck in.”

Wolf Hawkins © w/ Phil Vibert vs. Rick Law

The champion is walking wounded and Rick Law is a big, powerful man with a hell of a lariat and a lot of speed. Wolf has to change his usual style entirely, fighting defensively, keeping on the move and on the bounce, a dangerous mouse cornered by a confident, strong cat.

Law isn't the type to brutalise. He doesn't focus on Wolf's aching neck or his punished knees. What he does, however, is take every pinfall chance he can create – and he can create a lot. The Squad Car Slam connects twice, both times a heart's beat away from victory.

Wolf's having his own problems. The Full Moon Rising connects, but not at full force. A solo Spanish Fly – one of his signatures – busted out in desperation to prevent a superplex – also doesn't quite put Law down, as the Total Lawman is a tough contender and one who's more than ready to go all the way.

A Long Arm of the Law is ducked. In desperation, Wolf nails a Wolf's Call – pins – gets the count and the victory!

Acid Dragon vs. Tooth & Claw

All four masked men have some level of respect, but the School of Tradition duo have been picking up more and more wins of late – and some sterling performances elsewhere; the loss to Cornell is still getting comments from the announce team.

There's no real question, then, which of these teams will pick up the victory. Lobo Blanco in particular puts on a good showing, but the Acid Rain Bomb keeps his shoulders to the mat easily enough as Acid Dragon score up another victory.

Frankie Dee vs. Sam Keith

Dee is a competent wrestler and someone with a wide range of high-impact kicks, chops, and punches, and in the early going he really hammers the living legend, driving Keith back further and further before Sam manages to block one, giving himself the chance to mount a comeback, sweeping his legs out from under him and turning this into matwork.

From there on, the veteran is able to take control and to keep it reasonably well, shutting down Dee's attempts to get clear and wearing him down, ultimately locking him into the Proton Lock to force the submission. As a demonstration of skill, it's remarkable.

The commercial break over, a returned Sam Keith stops Tommy Cornell in the hallways.

“You doing alright for the money?” he asks. “For Vibert's challenge?”

“Seventy million?” Cornell laughs. “Hell no. Me and Jen can put together about ten million. Ricky said he'd be able to get the same together. So that was twenty.”

Keith winces. “Anyone else?”

“Yeah – Dangerous. Apparently he took the bonus from his big match with Strong and put it in a high-interest account. Says he can give it me so long as we win.”

“Well, ten million in TCW voting stock... that's not a bad investment.” Sam smiles. “I can probably do about the same. That's forty, right?”

Cornell nods. “Most of the way there. I'm just having to be careful who I ask – don't want to risk Vibert running a scam.”

“Make it fifty.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeremyStone.jpg

The two turn to find Jeremy Stone stood there, face like thunder. “After what that clown Newton said about me, I made my family a proposal. We can give you anywhere around ten million, but we're taking it out in stock, not money back.”

“You want the House of Stone to have a share in TCW?”

Stone nods. After a moment, Cornell nods back. “I can cope with that,” he says slowly. “Alright. Twenty million to find...” He sighs. “Still, I've got a month to do it. Look, guys – I've gotta run. Jen's set up a dinner with a couple of the Board members I can trust. We need to talk strategy.”

Keith raises a hand in salute as Cornell heads off. He looks across to Stone. “You going to knock some sense into Newton, then?” Stone shakes his head.

“I've got my own target right now. But one of my best students wants to do it for me. He wants to mock me, he can see what the House of Stone taught Sean McFly.”

Elemental Energy vs. Texas Outlaws w/ Floyd Bowman

There's a really good match here, with the Outlaws playing the powerful big men to perfection as Elemental Energy unite in a blaze of double-teams and innovative action, often hitting the same move simultaneously on both their opponents.

Texas Pete, on the other hand, probably deserves most of the credit for the sequence where, one at a time, he catches both Elementals out of the air in one-handed chokeholds before chokeslamming them both simultaneously.

The Elementals fight back well, with a springboard hi-lo combo chopping Pete down to size – and it's then that the match is interrupted.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/EddieChandler_Self1-1.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/DanDaLay_alt3jt-1.jpg

Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay enter the ring and this time they're armed; DaLay has a bullwhip – which he uses to immediately take down RDJ – while Chandler is sporting two sets of knuckledusters and wearing metal-tipped knee guards over his jeans.

The pair rapidly lay out all four men, leaving Sam Sparrow to rule the match a no contest.

The Elementals are both rapidly knocked out of the ring by Chandler as DaLay brings the pain for the Texas Outlaws, destroying Texas Pete with a cold, stony, vicious expression – by lawn-darting him over the top rope and into the guardrail at high speed.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/ChristianFaith.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/TysonBaine.jpg

Christian Faith and Tyson Baine are both already running down as DaLay loops the bullwhip around RDJ's neck, casually tossing him over the top rope and letting him choke, almost hung.

Meanwhile, Eddie Chandler meets Tyson Baine head-on, putting him on his back with a dropkick before ground and pounding with the knucks to the temple.

Christian saves his ally from full suffocation, though RDJ collapses, and goes after DaLay. Faith Hammer after Faith Hammer drive the giant among giants back around the ring before they come in reach of Chandler, who once again takes advantage of the knuckledusters, low-blowing Faith.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RhinoUmaga.jpg

The Supreme Legend staggers backward and, as DaLay attempts to ready his bullwhip, a third TCW wrestler hits the ring. Chandler turns a full circle off a Rhino Umaga lariat, and Christian Faith uses the distraction well, grabbing the bullwhip from DaLay's hand and attempting to whip him to the corner. DaLay stands his ground, but Umaga boots him in the gut and adds his strength to Faith's.

Between them they stack DaLay and Chandler in the corner and Christian hits a Leap of Faith. By now, security has surrounded the ring and they pin down ELITE, disarming Chandler and cuffing them both. Umaga abruptly grabs Eddie from their grasp and hits a big powerslam before being driven back by the security crew, who carry the two interlopers away in custody.

Pete, RDJ, and Baine, however, aren't moving, Pete and Baine both bloody, bloody messes.

Marc DuBois w/ Phil Vibert vs. Rocky Golden

The power of Golden, the mind of DuBois... the announce team point out to eager fans right at the start that one of those will be the deciding factor and that either way, a pure wrestling classic should probably not be expected.

DuBois plays his headgames well here, dancing around Golden, preventing him from using his full strength, and looking to humiliate the big man, to anger him and drive him to make mistakes.

It's a gameplan that works well enough, though he takes some big hits to get into position to implement it – but to the Can't Miss Prospect's credit, he can do that, he can weather the storm. Golden's usual arrogance is something the crowd have warmed to, and early on he nearly positions himself, twice, for the Rocky Road low blow, but DuBois is just sharp enough to keep clear.

In the end, this leads to a big moment – and while Marc again has to take punishment to do it, he's willing to; he rolls through the twisting overhead powerslam's impact and locks in the Model Solution, keeping one foot braced against the ropes to amp up the pressure and win the tapout.

Hood That Took Me Under begins to play, and as always, the man coming out to that is Art Reed, dapper in a new suit, microphone in hand.

“Won't keep you long,” he begins. “Matt, your problem with your family's been getting worse and worse all year. Feel like that's my fault, somehow, even if I came in because you were hurt – it's not like it's me who injured you.

“Still – either way, that idea won't shake itself. So here's what I'm suggesting.

“Psycho Circus, one on one, you on me. Let's settle this, huh? See who really is the better wrestler.”

Sean Deeley © w/ Laura Huggins vs. Freddy Huggins

There's an interesting dynamic of respect to this one. Huggins has been known to take shortcuts in his matches, but none of that is present here – he seems determined to actually outwrestle his sister's beau, and arguably, in places, he does.

Whenever it's turned into a mat game Freddy is put irresistibly on the back foot, but if he squirms free, he has a speed advantage and, arguably, he might be the more innovative wrestler – Sean remains all about his mastered arsenal of proven moves, while Huggins is willing to take a risk if he believes it'll come through.

Finally, he blocks the application of the Sure Shot armbar, using that as a starting position to boost him into the air and nail the HugginDriver – and pick up the pin! Freddy Huggins goes one up!

Elite Express vs. the Machines

Thomas and Johnson are both in the ring when the bell sounds, and a fired-up John Anderson boots both of them in the gut before he slams their heads together.

Brent comes in alongside Anderson and the duo isolate Bobby Thomas as Nate Johnson recovers on the outside of the ring. The Machines shoot Bobby across the ring and catch him on the rebound with a double flapjack, before Brent grabs the top rope and yanks Johnson off his perch and into the ring, following that up with a big double hip toss.

As Sparrow seeks to regain control, Brent leaves the ring again. Nate Johnson eats a punch from Anderson, then a monkey flip. Dazed, he rises and turns around into a snap suplex – and Anderson covers. One, two – Johnson kicks loose.

Anderson exits the ring and Brent comes off the top with a diving forearm. Another cover – one, two – Nate kicks out again. He punches clear of Hill's attacks and nails a German suplex of his own, laying in a couple of stomps before whipping Brent to the ropes – where he eats a knee to the back from Bobby Thomas.

Nate exits the ring as Bobby vaults over the top rope, armdragging Hill lucha-style as he lands and rolls back to his feet. He charges Brent, who meets him with an armdrag of his own – but Thomas rolls through. A dropkick! Schoolboy pin! One, two – no!

A snap suplex by Thomas follows. Bobby rolls under the bottom rope, allowing Johnson to hit a diving elbow as the legal man; Nate promptly rolls clear and Thomas is already in the air for a splash. Cover! ONE, TWO – Anderson breaks it up.

Brent nails a back suplex as Thomas turns his attention to Anderson, and the Complete Package then tags in the Human Arsenal, who flips over the top rope for a legdrop as Hill sideslams Thomas – but Anderson's pin attempt is broken up by a baseball slide dropkick from Johnson.

Nate takes over as Thomas rolls out. Anderson takes four or five punches to the head and a backbreaker, but rolls out of the ring. Almost out of nowhere, Brent Hill rushes in and nails a crucifix pin – ONE, TWO, TH- NO!

Hard whip to the corner by Johnson, who is joined by Bobby Thomas, both running along different sides of the apron to deliver a stereo superkick to stun Brent. Anderson comes in again – he dropkicks Thomas off the ropes, then drops Johnson with a spinebuster before rolling him over and locking in a crossface. Nate struggles for a while before getting his foot to the ropes, forcing Anderson to break it.

Snapmare by Johnson sets up a camel clutch by the Express man, but Brent Hill comes in to break it up. He stays in and swings for Johnson, who ducks it and nails a German suplex, but doesn't bridge – probably wise, as Anderson was still in the ring.

Anderson promptly levels him with a lariat before turning around into a missile dropkick from Thomas. The Express prepare for the Precision Driller, but Brent Hill breaks it up, chop blocking Thomas down and vaulting to superplex Johnson. It's a big impact, but Bobby Thomas is standing again and he catches Brent with a flying DDT.

That leaves Anderson to make it to his feet and interfere. A lockup transitions to a wristlock transitions to a hammerlock, but Thomas eventually twists clear, only to get a knee to the gut – Ammo Dump – no! Bobby counters that, backdropping Anderson. He looks for another Precision Driller, but Johnson isn't fully recovered yet, and Brent Hill takes full advantage, distracting Thomas – Anderson slips loose – Ammo Dump!

Anderson charges Johnson, sending them both tumbling over the top rope as Hill connects with the King of the Hill splash. Cover – ONE, TWO, THREE!

Frankie Dee should become the next Teddy Powell.

With the face/heel divide, I'm impressed.

~

I am saddened by the lack of guns brought to the ring by TCW against CGC. Then again...well...maybe that would be a little much.

Maybe.

btw, I'm more on board with the angle now that there's some comeuppance.

Blowdart guns aren't guns, right?

Shouldn't that be Bombshell who had a hood take her under? Y'know, since Bloodstone has a hood?

I sense an ironic heel turn. Or a heel turn based on irony.

But you don't have...OH GOD YOU BOUGHT OUT NOTBPW-wait, if you had, then you'd have Dan Stone Jr. as well. Then that can't be Steve DeColt, which means it must be...uh...Ozzie Golden? Well crap that sucks I hate that guy...

I never get you. Frankie Dee isn't in a tag team that just broke up with him being angry at his party (for real).

No, I mean that him and Perez have lethal kicks; this reminded me of the Motion Censor, (or does he spell it Sensor?) Powell's finisher. Given that Perez is with Generation Philbertia, Dee's gotta be the one to team back up with Bach.

It's not until '10 data that Stevie goes to NOTBPW, and this game started back in '08. In '08 data, all the DeColts were still with CGC.

...

Y'know, Eric Tyler wrestling should have jogged my memory as to that little discrepancy. Not so surprised I missed that, though.

Wait, so is INSPIRE still kicking around?

Perez quit Generation Omega shortly after GenOme dropped the titles, hasn't appeared in angles with them since, and hasn't been managed by Vibert since either.

And yes, INSPIRE is still around, which is how I got Khoklov, because he was with INSPIRE under a regular no-set-lengths contract rather than the pain in the ass lengthy contract he's set to in the SWF. Similarly, a strong Syndicate, the Young Guns, the rest of early Painful Procedure in the early going, Rick Law not having to turn back face, Eddie Peak being a face, the New Wave starting the diary chasing a first title shot, no LA Connection, no Canadian Animals, being able to sign Vibert rather than dealing with the way bookers turn you down...

...You know, I always feel like TCW hasn't changed much between 08 and 10, but when you start listing the changes, they're pretty big.

OOC: WARNING: Long post is long

Monday 22nd November 2009

I saw a man horsewhipped, once. I know that probably sounds like a completely random opening, but it's been on my mind this week.

Archie Judge had been feuding with the Texas Outlaws in TWL back when I was just getting into the business. One of the Outlaws at the time was Black Jack... something. The name didn't stick and he's not a big part of their history – because he left, signing with Richard Eisen and being reinvented as Sam Strong, a gimmick that fitted him far better.

Sam was signed away before the blowoff with Judge which he, specifically, had been set to handle – the Governor was not a big part o the business right then. Archie made some comment at the next show about it, and went on to actually identify Jack as Strong.

The Lone Star Stampeder had hand-picked and trained Archie, and to the best of my knowledge they're still good friends, but that weekend, Stampy wasn't happy. That weekend, Archie took a country whipping, because he broke kayfabe. He called out a name change that made no sense, long before that kind of name change became par for the course.

(I still think Dangerous is a stupid surname, but it's been mine all my life. It was my father's. And by the time I could legitimately change it, it was worth more to keep it the same.)

Now, what Stampy was actually annoyed at was a disruption in the story of wrestling. You can't, in a story, admit that some of it's fake and expect the rest of it to stand up.

This past week we've wanted to create something big. We can't just introduce the CGC people; we need to pay off what happened with them, and we need to bring them in, ideally with their titles, in a way that makes sense. So the first priority was to destabilise CGC in a way where it made sense.

As we'd already set a storyline in motion where Tommy Cornell needs all the money he can get, simply having him buy out CGC was no good. Having Vibert buy it was another option, but also tricky. Creating fake legal difficulties seemed a better idea; persuading Maple Leaf Sports to go along with it was trickier, but they accepted the offer we made them.

TCW is a bigger brand, like it or not, than CGC was, and a TCW show on their network next season will pay off for them well. In the meantime, after one pre-empted episode, they'll be running highlight shows of CGC's history – which are actually designed to showcase the DeColt/ELITE feud in its entirety.

We just announced a DeColt/House of Stone match for Malice in Wonderland. It's an obvious thing to have leveraged CGC into doing through ELITE actions, gets people excited about the idea of CGC in TCW, and the goal now is to build to a more total integration of the two in the near future. Part of that will be said to be other 'concessions' from Alex over the legal issues and part should rise naturally from the stories.

The end result, hopefully, will be a strengthening of CGC's international image to justify more; I plan for DeColts/ELITE to be the second biggest elimination match at The War To Settle The Score, with a bigger DeColts/Stones Cage Wars as the pencilled-in 2011 headliner.

Any big invasion HAS to treat the invaders as dangerous threats. It HAS to make them believable, and it HAS to, ultimately, allow the existing roster to get their victories in turn. We can't afford to make TCW look weak in the long term, but we can afford to use this to change things. Tyson got his wish; my suspicion is he'll be signing with SWF or USPW in a couple of weeks.

Harry, Steve, Marc and the Outlaws are all TCW figures of varying degrees of importance whose disappearance raises the stakes, as well as clearing room; it also sets up return feuds of one stripe or another down the line, as well as isolating Christian Faith – a role he plays very well – for his feud with Remo and giving the Machines a reason to develop a harder edge in time for Psycho Circus.

On top of all this, Friday threw my plans into further confusion. The Cornell/UK Dragon match's success has created a backstage backlash against Bloodstone and Jameson's respective de-pushes, as the boss pulls more or less the same stunt. Which means that Kirk and Johnny will become features again soon – JeriLynn is unlikely to make the Malice match, with Johnny being re-elevated to take her place in that contest. But we can't do that until we get the pieces in place – which is all more of a muddle.

It sounds like I'm complaining, but I'm really not. When everything changes on you – Mike Nero told me this a good twenty years ago, and I've come to realise he was, as always, completely right – is when booking becomes fun. Sitting in a room making up stories can be dull, and can drive you paranoid because you have time to second-guess everything. Handling a new signing or an injury – that puts you in a place where you just have to decide, very fast. And the adrenaline kicks in then, and everything becomes fun.

We have a lot of dream matches to give you – to sell you – and the only question is how best to pace them.

Come on Dangerous, the A* with UK Dragon was on a B-Show! They don't matter! Who cares if Tommy's now not the indomitable boss but a weakling guy that can't handle a nobody on a...B...show.

Oh. Yeah.

I say you fire Tommy to prove a point. Because...I mean, come on. If you fire the boss over that kind of stunt, that sends a message.

And, y'know, changes the Malice plans. You said you liked changing plans :D
