Walter Morgan has jumped onto the Hot Young Talent bandwagon, and will now commence to fail his way to the top.

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Natural Talent

Natural Talent are still jobbers, while Global Tradition have sometimes won things.

The Rising Stars would really, really hurt from this loss.

Wishful thinking, I'm probably wrong.

Baine isn't in a position where he can credibly go over Ino.

Troy Tornado vs. Walter Morgan w/ Laura Huggins

I just can't see Tornado losing here. Morgan's good, but he's not going-over-main-event (even if Tornado is fringe right now) good. Especially since the Lions have been pushed as a unit.

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Natural Talent

Tough one... GT lose to almost EVERYONE... but NT can't be too too over right now and they're unproven after the debacle last time.

Elite Express vs. Rising Stars

The Express are doing well, but Andrews' title tips it to the Stars.

After the indecisive match previously, a win here will put her back into the picture.

Koshiro Ino w/ Baroness Emily vs. Tyson Baine

I like Kosh, and his blokes are doing well, so... blind stab.

Art Reed & Greg Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. New Wave vs. Stone Brothers (non-title)

Simply because... they've got other challengers on the line. A win for the Wave of the Stones could put them into contention, Wave's program right now is losing, the Stones both have singles feuds. Some Ace vengenace on the cards?

- Not sure even hijinks and shenannigans can put Morgan over Tornado.

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Natural Talent

- Because I nearly forgot who was in GloTrad, so let's see if the Talent has improved while spending time at the coast.

Elite Express vs. Rising Stars

- Is this in Canada? I'm going to say after that last performance Double E score a slight upset on the Stars, since Andrews is focused on his singles title.

Raku Makuda vs. Suzanne Brazzle w/ Baroness Emily

Koshiro Ino w/ Baroness Emily vs. Tyson Baine

- This leads to Brazzle caning Ino in a slightly surreal visual. Troy Tornado vs. Walter Morgan w/ Laura Huggins

Tornado just lost to Bruce... can't have him lose again, especially to a tag team guy.

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Natural Talent

I'll admit I cannot remember who's on either one of those teams. I'm going with the one with a manager over the one who recently spent time in development.

Elite Express vs. Rising Stars

Are you in Canada? If so, Canadian jacket men put up a fight then lose. If not, Canadian jacket men just lose.

Raku Makuda vs. Suzanne Brazzle w/ Baroness Emily

Go easy on the bokken, Emily... Makuda is as credible as any challenger short of Gorgon.

Koshiro Ino w/ Baroness Emily vs. Tyson Baine

Ino beats Baine, thereby ensuring that Team KOBRA doesn't have to buy two bokkens and go over budget.

Art Reed & Greg Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. New Wave vs. Stone Brothers (non-title)

Art! Reed! Art! Reed! Art! Reed!

(The Stones might take this. But whoever wins, they're going to be pinning a New Wave guy.)

Marc DuBois w/ Phil Vibert vs. Rick Law

Rick Law's been established as legitimate... but DuBois is legitimate AND relevant right now.

It's hard to see Law as a real contender, even if he amasses the requisite record, because his storyline is so wrapped up in running the B show. Then again, is Johnny Bloodstone even one of the ten most prominent guys in the company? And he's held that belt since forever.

Troy Tornado vs. Walter Morgan w/ Laura Huggins

Walter Morgan shows, again, just why TCW management were so keen to import him here; in what might be considered his American home ground, where he and O'Curle spent time in development in front of the local fans, he takes the former World Champion almost to the limit. The pace slows as Morgan controls, accelerates as Tornado turns the tables, slows again, accelerates again...

Morgan's game is totally focused on Tornado's right arm, the Star Maker arm – working on it, hurting it, looking to injure it. As Doakes notes, you can't hit a Tornado Driver without both arms working, either – it's a great way to limit Tornado's explosive best moves. Nonetheless, the Painful Procedure frontman is resourceful, resilient, and quick – and those make for a very nasty comeback every time.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JackBruce_alt8.jpg

As he twists loose of the latest armwrench, after fifteen minutes, with Tornado finally on top clearly, he takes a step back – and walks straight into a steel chair to the back; Jack Bruce, there to prove a point.

Morgan does not look happy with him.

Troy Tornado won by DQ

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeremyStone.jpg

Jeremy Stone stalks down to the ring, microphone in hand, as the match ends, climbing into it and turning to face the entry ramp again. “Bloodstone!” he bellows. “We need words, Johnny.”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/BlondeBombshell.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JohnnyBloodstone_alt2.jpg

There's a short pause before Break Stuff starts to play and, the Blonde Bombshell as ever by his side, the World Heavyweight Champion emerges.

“Not this again,” Bloodstone offers, his voice irritated. “Jeremy, I've told you – I am not giving you the Total Mayhem shot. You are not getting to me, man.”

“Why not?” Stone says, his reaction almost that of a spoiled, petulant child. “Are you saying I don't measure up?”

“No,” Bloodstone returns, keeping his voice even. “I'm saying you've pissed me off, and these days...” He exchanges a smile with the Bombshell. “These days, I don't reward people for doing that. You can't goad me into it, and I'm not interested in satisfying your tantrum. Not nowadays, when I don't have to.

“Matter of fact, I was talking to the Board of Investors earlier, and Mayhem Midden OKed a match for me – on Saturday, I want Ricky Dale Johnson and Sammy Bach, and whoever wins that one will have earned a title shot at Total Mayhem.

“You won't get anything from me by bitching, man. You get things from me by doing something to earn them.”

Jeremy Stone just fumes as the champion and his girlfriend walk back out of sight.

Global Tradition w/ Laura Huggins vs. Natural Talent

While the redebut of Natural Talent on Badge of Honor stirred a significant response, they were up against the Easy Riders, easily in the top 5 current TCW tag teams and arguably competing directly for number one. This time, against Global Tradition, everything is different and, while the match probably isn't much less hard-fought, much less enjoyable, the crowd simply aren't into it to anything like the same degree.

JD Morgan and Joel Bryant are hard pressed from the off; Natural Talent are clearly very well aware of just how much ground they need to make up in the fans' eyes, and my God they're prepared to do it. Natural #2, in particular, demonstrates a high-speed neckbreaker with real flair that Azaria calls the Storm Damage. It rattles Bryant's brains, by the looks of things, but Morgan manages to break the pin before it can be curtains.

He has to do that a couple more times, and once he's recovered, Bryant finds himself returning the favour. Natural Talent use a great many tricks, with Azaria taking great pleasure in pointing out which of them weren't in the team's repertoire before they left TCW the first time, but in the end, they can't quite force the pinfall – and JD Morgan is happy to rake the eyes of Natural #2, send him crashing into his partner as a 'tag', and toss him out of the ring before a low blow and the Cross-Atlantic Stretch give the Tradition the victory.

Global Tradition defeated Natural Talent

Elite Express vs. Rising Stars

The Tradition fought from beneath, but that's not the case here; no, despite the Rising Stars' clear ability and renown, the Express fight as equals.

Of course, they have an advantage in this; they gel as well as ever on tags, on breakups, on doubleteams, on everything. But the Stars...

There have been times when Aaron Andrews and Joey Minnesota have chained moves together and played off each other as well as, say, the Express, or the New Wave, or the Riders. But at the moment that just isn't the case; the timings are off, some of the time. They don't connect as well as they used to.

It's hard to say who started that – it's not really something you notice until it's happened a few times – but it's like there's some kind of disconnect forming at the moment. The Express take advantage well, getting the Precision Driller on Minnesota at one point – Aaron Andrews making the save at quite literally the last possible instant.

Andrews holds the Express off for a while, though, and Minnesota recovers – and when he gets his hands on Nate Johnson, he nails a crisp Empire Spiral to get the win.

Rising Stars defeated Elite Express

Rating: B

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/totalbanner.jpg

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/AaronAndrews-1.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JoeyMinnesota_alt.jpg

Minnesota nods a mission-accomplished kind of nod to Andrews as his fellow Star climbs into the ring. Andrews nods back and holds out a hand; the two exchange palm-slaps, showing some cameraderie at least, then turn back toward the entrance ramp – and stop dead.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/PhilVibert.jpg

Phil Vibert is already standing there. Doakes speaks the only audible words between the match's end and the commercial break when he voices the audience's thought: “How long has he been standing there?”

He sees the Stars watching him and smiles slowly, nodding respect to them – or perhaps only to one of them. Andrews and Minnesota glance at each other, their expressions uncomfortable, uncertain.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Gorgon-1.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/EddStone_alt6.jpg

Then Gorgon walks out onto the entrance ramp, brushing past Vibert. Aaron Andrews swivels on reflex – and catches Edd Stone sliding into the ring to his rear. Realising his sneak attack has been rumbled, Edd immediately rolls back out of the ring, grinning cheerfully, and shrugs, heading past the ring and up the aisle toward Gorgon.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JeremyStone.jpg

By the time he backs up to where she's stopped, someone else is there; Edd backs into his brother, jumps, then spins to see who it is, dropping into a Karate Kid pose.

The two Stones and Gorgon go into a huddle, their conversation out of reach of any microphones, then walk up the ramp together, Jeremy and Gorgon walking with purpose.

Edd lags behind for a second, stopping just past Vibert – who hasn't taken his eyes off the Rising Stars – and doing a quick, impromptu dance step before vanishing.

Raku Makuda vs. Suzanne Brazzle w/ Baroness Emily

Makuda is starting to win fans over, as is Brazzle, but neither of them yet have immediate recognition in the way that Kate Dangerous and Stephanie Wade have built up.That does mute the fan reaction a little, but this is still good stuff, led mostly by Makuda but with Brazzle showing her abilities. She even goes for the Miracle Connection, but Makuda ducks it, immediately taking her head off with a spinwheel kick and ending things with the Swanton Bomb to prove a point.

Koshiro Ino w/ Baroness Emily vs. Tyson Baine

Perhaps it's his student's defeat that fires Ino up for his own match, but it's difficult to see a point in this match where the Kobra looks in real danger of losing, as much as Azaria hypes up Baine's power and his ability to win a match with one big hit; Ino is clearly revitalised as a man by the Team KOBRA project.

He controls, he weathers the storm, he slowly wears Baine down and, when the time is right, he delivers a thunderous Kobra Bite for the win.

Before they can bow in respect, however, Breakin' The Law hits and Tommy Cornell makes his way to the ring, microphone in hand.

“You know what I'm going to say,” he says. “But here's why you should listen.

“When you wanted to travel the world – whose company listened? Who made you the offer? Who believed in you?

“I need an ally, Kobra. You could be that ally.”

Ino looks at him for a moment, half-smiling, and turns to Shingen Miyazaki. Emily hands him a microphone, as Ino asks:

"In the Saint's mausoleum there is a poem that goes :

If in one's heart

He follows the path of sincerity,

Though he does not pray

Will not the gods protect him?

What is this path of sincerity?"

Miyazaki responds as if by rote:

“As everything in this world is but a sham,

Death is the only sincerity.

It is said that becoming as a dead man in one's daily living is the following of the path of sincerity."

“What the hell are you on about?” Cornell demands. Emily smiles.

“It means no,” she says simply.

New Wave vs. Stone Brothers

The TCW tag division go all out, once again, to show exactly what they're capable of – and when you get right down to it, these six men are all excellent wrestlers, and every team, through hard work over years or instinct, knows their partner so very well.

It's evenly-fought, with the New Wave perhaps a little on the back foot against the explosive assaults of both opposing teams, but nonetheless the Wave are doing excellent work here.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/Gorgon-1.jpg

However, the ending is sudden – and chilling. With Guide, Edd, and Art Reed in the ring, Jeremy Stone seems to give some kind of signal – and Gorgon arrives, hopping the barricade – and she grabs the Blonde Bombshell by the throat!

Edd doesn't seem to realise, but both Art and Guide double-take. Edd gets the superkick on Guide and uses that as a leaping off point for the Party's Over on Art Reed, hooking his leg and grinning gleefully for the pin. On the outside, Greg moves to rescue his manager and eats a boot from Gorgon, then a chair shot from Jeremy. Another follows for Scout.

Jeremy and Gorgon, between them, bundle the Bombshell into the ring. The elder Stone promptly delivers another chair shot apiece to the two men in the ring not his brother; Edd backs off, staring with a panicky expression.

Gorgon has acquired a microphone from somewhere and she hands it to the elder Stone.

“Anyone but Johnny comes out now and she gets the Hydra Bomb,” he growls.

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/JohnnyBloodstone_alt2.jpg

After a short pause, and without music, Johnny Bloodstone comes out. He looks visibly angry as Jeremy Stone grins.

“Total Mayhem, Johnny,” Jeremy says. “Or I give Gorgon the go-ahead.”

The camera concentrates for a second on Gorgon's expression. Unreadable as it is, it is not inconceivable that she might be smiling.

“You complete ****,” Bloodstone manages, getting angrier. He takes another two paces forward; Gorgon's grasp on the Bombshell abruptly shifts from pinning her arms to around her throat.

“Total Mayhem, Johnny,” Jeremy says. The arena is deathly silent for a moment. Then:

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/RickyDaleJohnson.jpghttp://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/SammyBach_alt1.jpg

“Aww, you're breaking the rules,” Jeremy smirks. Bloodstone wheels; out behind him are Ricky Dale Johnson and Sammy Bach – the two men Bloodstone had picked to battle for the #1 Contender spot.

“STAY BACK!” Bloodstone yells – no; not yells, roars. A close-up shows the rage building once again.

“Total Mayhem or she takes it,” Stone says. “Your pain or hers.”

Bloodstone is clearly not thinking straight. “Fine!” he barks. “Whatever! I'm going to cripple you, you son of a-”

http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm75/trenchcoatbrigand/TCW/KateDangerous.jpg

“You heard him,” Stone tells the hard camera. “No weaseling out of it now.” He nods to Gorgon, who locks eyes with a fourth arrival on the ramp – Kate Dangerous – and hits the Hydra Bomb on the Blonde Bombshell anyway.

The two Stones and Gorgon flee through the crowd as Bloodstone, Dangerous, and RDJ charge the ring.

Marc DuBois w/ Phil Vibert vs. Rick Law

It's a good match – very good – but the crowd are still running over what just happened in their mind. Law and DuBois try their very best, but there's a little edge of sombre here.

DuBois brings mind games aplenty – bits and pieces, tricks he's used on various other TCW competitors, even a few new tricks – but he's faced with one very, very simple problem; Law isn't fazed by them, and the Total Lawman is able to dominate in places.

However, the Squad Car Slam doesn't get the job done; and, when he tries for the Long Arm of the Law, DuBois has it scouted, blocking it with an elbow and jerking the big man off his feet and down into the Model Solution to ensure a submission.

Marc DuBois defeated Rick Law

Show Notes:

- I apparently employ a tag division who moonlight as the Smackdown Six. What the hell?

- So... how're people enjoying this stuff? I was really jazzed for the central Bloodstone/Stone/Gorgon/Bombshell thread to this show at the end of Feedback, through the shows laying groundwork for it, and booking the show. But work kept me from writing it at my usual rhythm and it feels kind of... off, probably just as a result, and as such, I'm more curious than usual.

I love the angle with Cornell. I'm assuming he's currently face, but it's still got those overtones to it that he's trying to wriggle out of trouble however possible. How everyone is systematically him down is great.

I actually thought the angle with the Bombshell went well, although Dangerous appearing didn't quite click for me. I'm definitely interested in what's going to happen next though, since Bombshell is the one you've been building up as Bloodstone's anchor since forever and how much him keeping cool has been emphasised.

The game is challenging you to make better write ups for your unexpected A and A* matches. :p

Honestly, Harry Allen is generally better than Steve Gumble. But somehow, Steve Gumble had a great match against Jeremy Stone. Jeremy's one of the best, but Steve Gumble? Wow. An A match. Not a B+ match. An A. Just... wow.

I actually really liked the last show. The Cornell stuff continues to be gold, and I like nailing down what exactly the Stones are up to these days. (Down to the detail of Edd reacting with shock to Jeremy and Gorgon's actions.) The "heel gets concessions from face champion by threatening the manager" storyline is as old as the hills, but there's a reason it still works. And I also feel like the women's division has its first compelling matchup after a few months of nothing happening.

(Small note: RDJ interfering in the post-match stand-off is interesting... he was kind of standing next to Sammy Bach there for a minute, wasn't he? Now, that's an unusual pairing... not that you implied an alliance or anything, but how often do those guys' interests align? And it raises the question of how far RDJ is willing to go for the title shot, so that's another avenue that fleshes out his character. If you want to go there, of course... this just opened up a potential rift between Bloodstone and those two guys, even after the Stone thing plays out.)

(And another small note: I know the Other Keiths got pinned, but it's odd they weren't involved in the post-match tableau... you mean to tell me Greg and Art walked back up the ramp while Stone and Gorgon held their manager hostage and put their stablemate into a stand-off? I mean, it would be one thing if Stone made his threat to get them out of the arena, but they just seemed to be gone. And that's true to a lesser extent of the New Wave, assuming they're still faces, but definitely of the Keith team. Gorgon had Bombshell when the match ended, kept hanging onto Bombshell, where are the Keiths? Was this deliberate?)

I mean, there were a couple of pretty dull matches in there... Global Tradition/Natural Talent was inherently blah, Makuda/Brazzle was a match between two low-level workers without defined characters or storylines, even Law-DuBois seemed like an afterthought (and it's weird that the Young Guns are suddenly doing run-ins -- are we going to explore this?)

And I don't feel I'm sold on Tornado-Bruce yet... I know it's the feud, I know it has to happen, but nothing about it has grabbed me thus far.

But there was plenty of good stuff in there. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Don't know what's going on for you with the pic issue, Eidenhoek - anyone else having that? They're showing fine at this end.

Rather than try answering all your questions, Mr Jensen, I'm just going to talk about the Other Keiths question. That's a lot of why Greg takes the beatdown from Jeremy right at the end of the match writeup; they don't feature in the angle writeup because I only have a certain number of slots for people to factor into.

Thanks for all the comments, especially as they were pretty damn constructive for the Internet. And, in just a moment, Saturday Night Showcase's card is due... slowed slightly, once again, by work...

Champagne Lover vs. Chris Rockwell

To be honest this is one of those matches, where a win would be nice for either guy but in the greater scheme of things it doesn't really affect anything, as neither man really rises up the rankings for falls down it in the eyes of the TCW fans. Just to go against the grain a little and to truly present the coinflip that this match up is, I'm tipping Lover for the win.

Acid Dragon w/ Laura Huggins vs. Team VIPER w/ Baroness Emily

Team VIPER have alot more direction, as Zergon said sadly Acid Dragon are just jobbers....talented jobbers but still jobbers.

British Lions w/ Laura Huggins vs. Natural Talent

If Natural Talent couldn't beat Global Tradition, they are no beating the Lions.

Amber Allen vs. Stephanie Wade

This one's based purely on the fact that you said Wade is more over than some of the other women.

Bobby Thomas vs. Sam Keith w/ Blonde Bombshell

The legendary Sam Keith may not be so egotisical that he doesn't want to put anyone over but he's not jobbing to a midcard Tag guy.

Rising Stars vs. Marc DuBois & Wolf Hawkins w/ Phil Vibert

You're already beginning to tease a gradual split between The Rising Stars (the classic one partner gets jealous of the other's success scenario) and DuBois and Hawkisn have a big PPV match coming up against Tommy Cornell and (possible) partner.

Johnny Bloodstone & Ricky Dale Johnson w/ Blonde Bombshell vs. Stone Brothers

I'll go with Zergon, whilst the Stone Brothers will look like the more focused unit throughout the match, I just don't see Edd Stone being over enough to justify going over Bloodstone and RDJ even if it is a tag match. So this ends in a giant schmozz.
