Going into the fight Da Guia is 24-0 and Silva is 12-0. >The fight begins! >Silva is looking to turn this into a wrestling match, and is getting in closer to da Guia. >da Guia keeps himself moving out of range, not wanting to grapple. >da Guia uses a body kick on Silva. >da Guia comes in, looking for a quick takedown. >da Guia is stopped by a good sprawl, and is pulled down to the ground in a loose front facelock until he is on his knees. >Silva prepares to throw a knee strike, but can't keep control of da Guia who is able to spring back up. >Silva looks like he might be trying to get in close and wrestle with da Guia. >Silva is surprised by a vicious countering uppercut, but he avoids it at the last second. >Moving in closer, Silva looks like he may want to wrestle da Guia. >Silva grabs da Guia and pulls him into a grapple. >Silva tries to wrestle da Guia backward and up against the cage. >da Guia ends up backed against the cage. >We pass the halfway mark of this round. >da Guia is controlled up against the cage and takes an elbow to the face from the clinch. >da Guia has a large gash above his eye from that strike. >Silva catches da Guia with two knee strikes to the ribs from the clinch while he is pressed up against the cage. >da Guia uses his wrestling skills to prevent Silva from throwing any elbow strikes. >da Guia is controlled up against the cage and takes a few punches via some dirty boxing. >da Guia is trapped against the cage and Silva punishes him with some dirty boxing. >With da Guia bleeding, the referee pauses the fight so that the cut can be checked. >The doctor checks the wound, and doesn't take long to signal to the referee that it is only minor. >We're back underway! >We're into the final minute of the round. >da Guia catches Silva with a scything low kick to the legs. >Silva comes in closer, looking to wrestle with da Guia. >da Guia keeps himself moving out of range, not wanting to grapple. >Time expires and we come to the end of round one. >I think Silva took that round, 10-9 on my score card. >We are back underway! >da Guia steps back to avoid a kick to the body. >There is an exchange of strikes, but neither fighter does any damage. >da Guia fires off a high kick and catches Silva on the side of the head, knocking him down! >Silva is in trouble as da Guia dives in quickly, looking to unload with strikes. >Down comes the punches! Silva, tenacious personified, refuses to be beaten and somehow survives the onslaught! >da Guia ends up in side control. >da Guia fires off a handful of punches, each easily being blocked with gloves. >da Guia throws a few strikes, but they are without venom. >Trapped under side control, Silva takes an enormous knee strike to the ribs! >da Guia uses side control to drive forward and hit a brutal knee strike just above the hip! >Silva takes a punishing knee strike to the ribs from under side control! >We go past the halfway point of this round. >da Guia hits a vicious knee strike to the ribs! >da Guia throws a few weak-looking punches as he decides on his next move. >Silva tries to move to guard, but da Guia doesn't allow it. >da Guia begins trying to get himself into mount. >Silva can't fend off his opponent and is mounted. >We move into the final sixty seconds of this round. >da Guia tries to set up Silva for an armbar. >Silva doesn't allow the armbar to be applied. >Silva tries to roll da Guia, but only succeeds in giving up his back! The match was rated as being Excellent. KO with only 3 seconds left this fight blew me away, i'd love to see some excellent fights you guys have had post them up. Mirko went on to beat #1 contender Juinor dos Santos, Frank Mir, and Lesnar in the rematch. All the while Fedor had been racking up a couple of wins... I was trying hard to break into the Japanese market, so I booked Fedor vs. Cro Cop II.. and this is what happened. >It's time for the main event of the evening! The match was rated as being Decent. I was amazed how well Faber stayed away from BJ's submissions, and when Penn finally got one time ran out. RingofHonorGuard Posted July 21, 2009 Share Posted July 21, 2009 It's because BJ's cardio is strongly underestimated for 155. It's not still on par with say a Clay Guida or Diego Sanchez, but he's much more in shape at 155. I increased his cardio a little, and he wins as he should most of the time now.
