How Much is too Much?

Recommended Posts

I think we all have fighters that are our favorites, but when someone like Buddy Garner demands 400k per fight with a 90% win bonus, is that just going overboard?

I know that each high salary raises everyone else's demands, but I also know it's easy to haul a steady profit with GAMMA, even with a high payroll.

I also find it is sometimes a good thing to let talent walk, as it gives you the opportunity to develop other fighters.

What do you guys do? Do you overpay for a guy because you are attached to him or will you let a guy walk to keep your overall payroll down?

Im paying Yamada, Sukarno, and Atep of Indonesia 1million per fight with a 100% win bonus, i had to pay that hight to snatch them from ALPHA 1. James Foster is also earning 1million per fight. Heijo Endo is on 600,000, Li Kong Ho and Garner each earn 500,000.

I have 92million in the bank though and am always making profit, ALPHA1 are berefit of stars at the moment they have Raul Hughes, Mike Watson, Bill Brown, and Sean Morrison all stolen from me, but when there deals are up then ALPHA 1 are going to be in trouble.

<p>It's supportable if you have good PPV deals. Without them, you'll start losing money.</p><p> </p><p>

I was playing a game, had okay PPV deals. Signed a bunch of big names without paying attention and was quickly losing out on PPV because all my main events were costing me 2-3 million.</p>

If you have the money, nothing is too much. Once you get a good PPV deal going, there's no need for budget cuts. You make way too much money. so unless you have a big-ass roster, you can pay just about anything. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

At this stage of the game I can pay a fighter as much as is needed and still probably make money from PPV. Ohhhh yeah.

I usually cut off about the 800,000 mark, though out of stubbornness.

The only fighter who ever got more was Lil Dragon (925,000) who became my biggest draw and had 20 fights with the title undefeated until he retired. You can see why I wanted to keep him around. And his PPV's still got well more than enough to hire 6 of him.

As others have said, once you've got good PPV deals locked in (being on a BIG provider in the USA or Japan), you can pay whatever you want.

I've been quite stringy so far and have lost a series of stars to Alpha-1, most notably Foster and more recently Garner and Regueiro.

I've started being a bit more extreme with it, and I've grabbed Hyun-Shuk Lim and a few others from them, and I'm going to pay STUPID money for any other international level stars that come up.

Basically, when you have stars stolen from you at the start when you are poor, take care to build up your younger stars, and try and poach low rent, yet promising guys from KDM FM and SIGMA - the likes of Li-Kong Ho, Lefter Oktay and Aleksandr Ivanov are good value - Ivanov replaced Foster as my HW champion and has since gone on a real tear with the belt.

Then once these guys have secured your titles and made you massively popular, do what I'm just about to embark on and start mercillessly raiding Alpha-1 for their top level talent, and try and grind them into the ground.

I sound like the bastard child of Vince McMahon and Dana White - ew, imagine the children...

Anyways - if you've got the money, spend it!
