NYCW: Extreme Makeover Edition

Recommended Posts

Notes on the show:

Well this was the last show under the original data, which means from here on out I will be using the new data. Which is good because I will not run into the repetitive match penalty, but which also sucks because any good chemistry that I had is now out the window. The data was not 100% right so some of the popularity, momentum, and other stats will not be up to par.

Also, I am not sure why the American Machine vs. Masked Mauler match rated so low. Both guys were Upper Midcard wrestlers, and I just thought that they would have pulled off a better grade.

You the readers are finally caught up with the game in real time (This diary was four shows in when I posted the very first post). I have not even simulated the next show yet so I have no clue as to how the show turned out. This is good because now I can push some of the reader's favorites (like Brendan Idol) and I will be able to respond more to the reader's likes and dislikes in my game world.

I am not going to post the pick updates until tomorrow as I will probably be going to bed shortly after this post. So I just do not want anybody to think that I forgot to post it.

And once again I do apologize for not getting this up sooner, I was and still am sick so that made me miss my deadline.

I am sure that regardless of having to start a new game to continue this dynasty it will be just as good as if it was the origional Data. Keep up the good work, as I will be reading.

Thank you for your continued support! I does mean a lot to me.

Okay I am going to bypass the Rock Downpour segment (Unless the readers want the Dowpour segment then I will write one up.) and the card preview segment for this week only just to catch up. So this is a picks only post and I am not going to set a timetable as to when I will post this card because we all know how that turned out the last time.:D

Lee Wright vs. The New York Doll

Pfft.. :p

Mr. Jiminez and Puerto Rican Power vs. Sam Pratt and Giant Tana

Giant Tana shocks the world by showing his graceful charity, and showing up to cover for that big fat, plodding Pratt. Unfortunately, his showing of his undying genorisity in letting Pratt start things out backfires, as those two weaklings (In comparison to the Herculean physique of Tana) on the other side, are far too scared to let him in, and constantly interfere to make sure that Pratt stays isolated. Eventually, they win this way, not even letting Tana into the contest.

Tana, in his unending rage, proceeds to give five seperate stunners to Jiminez and PPP each, before slamming a revolving door, getting shot three times while stopping a rape, then walking away from it, Roundhouse Kicking Chuck Norris, POWERBOMBING BILLY KIDMAN, running over Steve Austin (for The Rock), enlighting Calvin Dark on the spirit of Christmas, (and his heart grew three sizes that day!) POWERBOMBING EDD STONE, slamming a second revolving door, and convincing Glenn Beck that America is in fact not a dying whore, and that he needs to relax.

All in the span of about 10 minutes.

He then again takes J-Ro home, because let's face it, once you go Mexican Announcer King Fabulous Space Force Tuna of Violent Wrathful Loooooooove, you just don't go back, babay.

Honest Frank vs. Eddie Howard

There's definately some doubt about this match's result..honest!

For the NYCW Tag Team Championships:

New York City's Finest: Tag Team Division vs. The Gang of New York ©

Damn, I really think I'm putting my streak in jeopardy either way here..in the end though, I say it's a little early for the youngsters to get these belts. Wait 'till the big blowoff PPV (the one where Steve Flash defends against Honest Frank) before giving them the belts.

For the Tri-State Regional Title:

The Big Problem vs. American Machine ©

This would be a Big Mistake..

For the NYCW Empire Championship:

Land Mass vs. Steve Flash ©

Not only is Flash remarkable, but he's got, like, 30 pounds on the guy!

All right, i'm going to play along, but my predictions may be more based on personal preference than over logical booking... And I've never predicted in a c-verse diary before, so I hope my picks dont come across as ignorant

Quick picks for Battle for New York:

Lee Wright vs. The New York Doll

Dont know much about the Doll, but I like the grizzled veteran Wright

Mr. Jiminez and Puerto Rican Power vs. Sam Pratt and ???

Usually ??? wins, but since I'm not really sure, I'll go with the big guys

Honest Frank vs. Eddie Howard

I'm going against the other two guys ahead of me... Dont really know why,

For the NYCW Tag Team Championships:

New York City's Finest: Tag Team Division vs. The Gang of New York ©

These guys seem like c-verse Dudley's to me, I like them and dont see their reign ending

For the Tri-State Regional Title:

The Big Problem vs. American Machine ©

Just because

For the NYCW Empire Championship:

Land Mass vs. Steve Flash ©

I'm going with the cruiserweight here... Just thinking you once tried to take title off Flash, but lost your new champ, maybe you've found you new guy to take over on top... I get into your Landmass character a bit, so I'll go with a title change

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/NYCW/?action=view&current=MitchNaess_alt1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/NYCW/MitchNaess_alt1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Mitch Naess: Hello and welcome wrestling fans to NYCW’s annual event Top of the World! My name is Mitch Naess and I am joined tonight in the boot with my broadcast partners Herb Stately and Rock Downpour. Gentlemen, tonight we have yet another action packed card with our main event being Land Mass taking on our Steve Flash for the Empire Championship!

Rock Downpour: Why do I have a feeling that Stomper put Land Mass in this match to help soften Steve Flash up for his good buddy Honest Frank?

Herb Stately: Because like I said last month Rock, you have officially become the Fox Mulder of NYCW wrestling! Look my friend there is no conspiracies here and the truth is not out there, the simple fact of the matter is Land Mass has earned his right to fight for the title tonight! And I fully expect Land Mass to give Steve Flash a run for his money!

Mitch Naess: Well gentlemen, it looks as if our opening match is about to start, so let us go down to the ring for the wrestler’s introductions!

[Eddie Howard gets a warm response from the crowd tonight as they chant his name, while he makes his way to the ring.]

[Fleetwood Mac‘s Little Lies starts to play on the sound system as a visibly pissed off Honest Frank makes his way to the ring. The chants of Frank’s A Liar start the moment the crowd sees Frank. Frank comes out by himself tonight. When Honest Frank gets in front of Front Row Franny he says to her, “Have you fallen and not been able to get up recently?” Franny is none to please at this question and she tries to spit on Frank. However, she does not hit him. Frank walks over to the ring announcer and grabs the microphone.]

Honest Frank: Month in and month out you troglodytes besmirch my good name, month in and month out the fools in the production truck besmirch my good name. Last month I made it perfectly clear that I will no longer stand for this!

And yet you troglodytes still defame my good name! Like I have said in the past, you people must truly be the dumber then Whistler! Because you see all of these cameras filming us, and yet you still chant liable remarks at me! Do you not realize that I will have my lawyer subpoena NYCW wrestling for the footage of tonight? And once I get said footage you people in this audience will be added to my lawsuit! I dear say, that you NYCW fans are truly some of the dumbest people in the world! And that’s the honest truth!

[Frank hands the microphone back to the ring announcer. NYCW senior referee then proceeds to tell the time keeper to ring the bell for the start of the match.]

[For an opening match featuring two of the more over members on the NYCW roster, this match brought the crowd‘s mood down. Maybe it was due to the fact that Eddied Howard seemed off his game tonight. Or possibly, the reason was because Honest Frank seemed visibly tired after the match passed the eight minute mark. Whatever the case may have been the fans were just not into this match at all. The match came to an end when Honest Frank picked up the victory via the pinfall while using the ring ropes for leverage.]

Winner: Honest Frank

Time: 9:19

Rating: D-

Mitch Naess: Well Honest Frank picks up yet another impressive victory. Love him or hate him one would be a fool to underestimate him.

Rock Downpour: You are one hundred percent right Mitch! Despite being a liar and a coward, the dude is a gets it done in the ring month in and month out.

Herb Stately: Damn right he gets it done! And what do you mean when you say despite being a liar and a coward? Honest Frank is one of the most honest and bravest people that I know! You know Rock, if you continue to talk about him like that Honest Frank may just added you as a co-defendant in his lawsuit…

[Mitch, who is hardly able to hide the fact that he is laughing, looks at Rock, who is trying not to laugh, for a response. Once Rock shakes his head, Mitch says:]

Mitch Naess: Well on that note let us go to the back of the building where the NYCW tag team champions, The Gang of New York, are.

[We are then brought outside to a poorly lit alleyway where The Gang of New York are. They both have cigarettes dangling from their respective mouths (think Slash from Guns N' Roses.]

Daniel Elderberry: Last month Frankie Perez and Kirk Jameson won the honor of taking us on. Well I don’t know how much of an honor it is gonna to be getting your asses kicked. But you won it so you deserve it!

Now I know you two guys have been talking trash about us. Asking how could the fans cheer for a tag team that pumps cancer into their body? How can the fans cheer a tag team that promotes alcohol abuse? You want to know why the fans cheer for us? Besides the fact that they have great taste, they cheer for us because we are two badass motherf****rs who will do whatever it takes to win!

David Bonham: That’s right Danny, you see Perez and Jameson, we aint your run of the mill nice guy NYCW tag team. We are two guys who love to kick ass, smoke cigarettes, and drink a lot of whiskey. Well we finished our whiskey an hour ago, and we are both about done with our cigarettes, so guess what is gonna happen next?

[The Gang of New York then enter the building as we go back to the announcer‘s booth.]

Segment Rating: E

Mitch Naess: Well it looks like the tag team champions are ready for their match a little later on.

Rock Downpour: That’s right Mitch, I would not want to be Frankie Perez and Kirk Jameson tonight.

Herb Stately: That is sheer and utter nonsense Rock! We all know that the Gang of New York talk a big game. But can they back it up?

Mitch Naess: We will find out later tonight, but for now let us go back down to the ring for our next match of the night.

[The New York Doll had already come down to the ring while the announcers were talking. In fact many loyal fans of NYCW were surprised to see him wrestling on the main show. As for the past few months NYD had been wrestling in dark match battle royals where he is always the first to get eliminated.]

[Lee Wright comes out from the backstage area. He is immediately greeted with an A-A-R-Lee chant. Lee looks extremely pissed off, as he normally does every month, as he makes his way down to the ring. This month he is actually talking to himself as he enters the ring. This fact causes some fans to chant, “You are senile.” When he enters the ring he takes the microphone from the ring announcer and says:]

Lee Wright: I want all you losers in the audience to shut the hell up! I have something to say so shut the hell up!

[The A-A-R-Lee chats are growing really loud as Lee stares out into the crowd with a look of disdain on his face.]

Lee Wright: Once again, the NYCW booking committee has decided that I am not fit to get a one-on-one rematch for my Tri-State Regional title. Once again, I am stuck in yet another mindless match against the jobber of the month! Well son I do feel sorry, but I am gonna have to kick your ass!

[And kick his ass is just what he did, as Lee Wright made rather short work of the New York Doll. And even though this match was really short, the fickle NYCW fans still chanted boring throughout the match. Maybe it was due to the fact that it was a heel vs. heel match…hell I am not making any excuses, it was because nobody cared about these two guys. Anyway, the match ended when Lee hit Doll with the Wright Stuff and pinned him for the victory.]

Winner: Lee Wright

Time: 3:46

Rating: E+

Mitch Naess: Lee Wright seemed to bulldoze through the New York Doll tonight.

Rock Downpour: Yeah man, the Doll sure did get a beating tonight.

Herb Stately: Well Lee Wright is on a mission, he wants his Tri-State Regional title back. And I guess for him to get it back, he has to go up against all of these lower rung ham and eggers here in NYCW.

Mitch Naess: Well the hallmark of a true champion is facing everyone, and I guess that is what the NYCW booking committee are trying to do to Lee Wright. You know make him work his way back to the top. Well anyway let us go to the back where Bradford Peverell has asked for sometime.

[We a brought to a dingy locker room where Bradford Peverell stands by. He is wearing a black sports coat, a white t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans.]

Bradford Peverell: Hello fans of NYCW, in case you don’t remember my name is Bradford Peverell. Over the last couple of months I have heard many people ask why have I had an attitude problem, well I will tell you why…

[before Bradford could tell us why a beautiful woman walks into the room. She has long red hair and she is wearing a female‘s black blazer with a white blouse on underneath it, and a short black skirt. She walks over to Bradford and says:]

Ms. Stroker: Hello Mr. Peverell, let me introduce myself. My name is Ivana Stroker but you can call me Ms. Stroker…

[she and Bradford shake hands.]

Bradford Peverell: Pleased to meet you.

Ms. Stroker: I have come here to NYCW to make a name for myself. Now I have noticed that your in ring career has hit a bit of a rough patch…

[bradford nods his head in agreement to this statement.]

Ms. Stroker: Well I am an expert in getting men out of rough patches. So if you would like to see your career rise to the occasion, I would be more then happy to help you out.

[bradford stands there speechless not knowing exactly what to say to her. Ms. Stroker puts her hand down her blouse and pulls out a card.]

Ms. Stroker: Here is my business card, if you ever decide that you need my…help.

[Ms. Stroker winks at Bradford and walks away. Bradford‘s watches as she leaves the locker room. Once she has left he looks back into the camera and says:]

Bradford Peverell: This ah…interview is over…

[He then walks off in the direction that Ms. Stroker went.]

Segment Rating: E

Mitch Naess: What was that all about?

Rock Downpour: I don’t what that was about man.

Herb Stately: I don’t know either, but I do know one thing I am a huge fan of Ms. Ivana Stroker!

Mitch Naess: Well it looks like we are about ready for our next match so let us go back to the for the wrestler’s introductions.

New York City's Finest: Tag Team Divsion vs.

[On Fire by Lloyd Banks starts to play as New York City‘s Finest: Tag Team Division make their way to the ring accompanied by their associate The Big Problem. The crowd starts to boo and yell various insults at these three men as they make their way into the ring.]

[The house lights dim and the spotlight starts circling the arena as nobody knows where The Gang of New York are going to come out. Bad To The Bone by George Thorogood comes blasting over the sound system. After a few seconds the crowd starts to go wild, as The Gang of New York make their customary entrance through the crowd. One thing that is noticeable is that neither man is drinking or smoking tonight as they must have really run out of smokes and booze. Both men are sporting the NYCW tag team championships and both men have said titles flung over their shoulder.]

[Finally, after their customary lengthy walk to the ring The Gang of New York enter the ring and the crowd is still going wild for them. They hand the tag team titles over to NYCW senior referee Michael Bull, who proceeds to walk over to New York City’s Finest: Tag Team Division and show them the tag team titles. He then holds both belts above his head showing them to the crowd.]

[This match is an all out brawl from the start, but then again most Gang of New York matches are. The heels finally gain control and they use classic heel tag tactics of isolating David Bonham and their corner. Finally, after getting quite a beating from the heels, David Bonham hot tags his partner in. Daniel Elderberry proceeds to clean house putting his team back in the drivers seat.

However, this is short lived because The Big Problem has seen enough. The Big Problem enters the ring and proceeds to clobber Daniel Elderberry in the head with a steal chair right in front of referee Michael Bull. Having no other choice Michael Bull awards The Gang of New York the victory via the disqualification.]

Winners and still NYCW Tag Team Champions: The Gang of New York

Time: 9:48

Rating: D-

Mitch Naess: Well that was quite the war we just saw there.

Rock Downpour: Yeah, but why did The Big Problem get his associates disqualified? I mean if I were Frankie and Kirk I would be pissed that he cost me my shot at the belts.

Herb Stately: Well I think what The Big Problem did was right. There is no need to win the belts tonight, I am sure Frankie and Kirk will have plenty of opportunities to do so down the road.

Rock Downpour: Well that is just an insane way of thinking in my opinion. I mean who says that they will have another crack at the titles somewhere down the road?

Herb Stately: Who says they will be another crack at the belts? Well I for one do! I can not foresee the championship committee not giving a great team such as New York City’s Finest another shot at the belts in the near future.

Mitch Naess: Well on that note let us go to the back where Joanne Rodriguez and her clients are standing by.

[Joanne Rodriguez stands in between Mr. Salazar and Mr. Jiminez in what appears to be the same old dingy locker room where Bradford Peverell was earlier in the show. Tonight Ms. Rodriguez looks particularly hot, wearing a low-cut red mini dress.]

Joanne Rodriguez: Greetings foul smelling citizens of New York City! Tonight you prostitutes and hobos that make up the NYCW audience are in for a real treat. Tonight my men Mr. Jiminez and Mr. Salazar will enter the ring for the first time as a tag team! They will take on that talent less hack Sam Pratt and his mystery partner.

I know Sam that your mystery partner is supposed to inspire fear in my men. The thing is my men are not scared of any has been that you could possibly dig up. I mean do my clients look scared to you? So tonight you bring your little mystery partner and we shall see who comes out on top.

vs. American Machine ©

[instead of going back to the announcers so they can talk about the last segment we go straight to the ring. The show must be running long so something had to be cut.]

[better Than You by Metallica starts to play and the crowd in the Crawford Center knows full well who is about to step out from behind the backstage curtain. The moment that The Big Problem comes out from the back, the fans start a “You can’t wrestle chant.” The Big Problem just keeps walking to the ring with a c0cky grin on his face. When The Big Problem is in front of Front Row Franny she yells at him, ”You can‘t wrestle”and she sticks her tongue out at him. The Big Problem turns looks at her and says, “Keep your trap shut you old broad!” He then enters the ring waiting for American Machine to come out.]

[Jimi Hendrix’s version of The Star Spangled Banner starts to play and out steps the reining Tri-State Regional champion, American Machine, much to the delight of the fans. As Machine makes his way down to the ring he slaps the fans hands.

Once American Machine enters the ring, Machine hands over his Tri-State Regional title to referee Michael Bull who then proceeds to walk over to The Big Problem’s corner and show The Big Problem the title. After showing The Big Problem the title he walks to the center of the ring and holds the title above his head for all those in the crowd to see.]

[The match is not as bad as many in the crowd would have thought it would be. One has to believe it is because Problem and Machine had good chemistry and it showed. This match was truly a back and forth affair with both men getting in seemingly the same amount of offense in. After the six minute mark The Big Problem seemed to be tiring and it was a this point in the match when Machine gained the advantage. American Machine actually lifted up The Big Problem and gave him the Old Glory slam (sidewalk slam) he then pinned him for the victory.]

Winner and still Tri-State Regional Champion: American Machine

Time: 9:46

Rating: D

[As The Big Problem makes his way to the back he is met by The Gang of New York (remember he did attack Daniel with a steel chair earlier on in the show) who both have steel chairs. The Big Problem looks at them a realizes that there is little chance he is going to get away from them. Daniel Elderberry proceeds to clobber The Big Problem with the chair that he is holding. Now both members of The Gang of New York are beating The Big Problem with chairs.

Shortly thereafter Frankie Perez and Kirk Jameson come out in order to help out their fallen stable mate. This now makes the brawl a three on two situation (well in all honesty The Big Problem is not doing all that much due to the fact that his brains are a bit scrambled from the chair shot that he just took. After about a minute of all out warfare between these five men, NYCW officials come out and separate the warring factions.]

Segment Rating: E+

Mitch Naess: I guess the tag champs just got a measure of revenge against The Big Problem.

Rock Downpour: Hell yeah! I love it! My boys just took it to New York City’s Finest! And in my opinion that was the right thing to do. Sometimes you gotta adopt your enemies tactics in order to be successful against them.

Herb Stately: So you are now advocating the attack on an innocent man who just went through a very tough match? Is that not against everything that you preach?

Rock Downpour: The Big Problem is hardly an innocent victim in this, he attacked Daniel earlier in the night so in my book they are now even.

Mitch Naess: Wait a minute…I am told Honest Frank is talking to Land Mass in the back. Let us go to the back and hear what he has to say.

[We go to the backstage area where we are in a hallway. We see Land Mass and Honest Frank talking to one another.]

Honest Frank: Land Mass as you know I am a man of honesty and integrity. So when I look at you I see something to strive for. The impeccable shape you keep your body in is something that I look up to.

Land Mass: Thanks man.

Honest Frank: Now on to the business at hand, tonight you have a shot at the Empire Championship.

[Land Mass nods and licks his lips.]

Honest Frank: I am sure that you are aware of the bounty that I put on Steve Flash’s head last week.

[Land Mass shakes his head.]

Honest Frank: Good I would like to extend that offer to you. Tonight, I want you to beat the living piss out of Steve Flash, but I do not want you to win the Empire Championship. If you agree to do that for me, I will make it worth your while.

Land Mass: How much money are you offering again?

[Honest Frank fishes for the money in his coat pocket and says:]

Honest Frank: Ah…I have a little more this month…hold on a sec….yes I have…

[He starts to count the money in his pocket and after he is finished he says:]

Honest Frank: Fifty-seven dollars and thirty-three cents…and well how about that one Canadian cent as well!

Land Mass: And all I have to do is beat the tar out of Steve Flash?

Honest Frank: That is right! Just think about how much KFC you could buy for this amount of money!

[Land Mass smiles and licks his lips.]

Land Mass: Actually I prefer Popeye’s but I catch your drift. You my friend have yourself a deal.

[Land Mass and Honest Frank shake hands and Honest Frank says:]

Honest Frank: And if at any point you are lacking in motivation, just pretend Steve is Brendan Idol.

[Land Mass gets angry at the mere mention of Brendan Idol‘s name.]

Land Mass: I hate Brendan Idol!

[Land Mass storms off camera as Honest Frank yells:]

Honest Frank: Good use that anger on Steve!

[Just then The Big Problem shows up and says to Honest Frank:]

The Big Problem: Where were you just now when I was getting beat up?

[Honest Frank looking scared at The Big Problem says:]

Honest Frank: I was going to help you and that’s the honest truth…but I had to take care of some business. Sorry about that man…

[We are not privy to the rest of the conversation as we go back to the announcer‘s booth.]

Segment Rating: E

Mitch Naess: It looks like Honest Frank might have some big problems on his hand right now.

Rock Downpour: Yeah it didn’t look like The Big Problem was to happy with Honest Frank right there.

Herb Stately: You guys are just trying to create animosity where there is none. The Big Problem will soon come to his senses and realize that Honest Frank had some pressing business to conduct and thus could not help out his friend.

Mitch Naess: Our next match should be an interesting one as Sam Pratt brings in a mystery partner to combat his enemies Mr. Jiminez and Mr. Salazar. Gentlemen, care to speculate who this partner might be?

Rock Downpour: If it is who I think it is, well let me just say that I feel very bad for Mr. Jiminez and Mr. Salazar.

Herb Stately: I for one could care less quite frankly! I mean what has-been could Sam Pratt possibly dig up that can combat the sheer awsomeness of Mr. Jiminez and Mr. Salazar?

Mitch Naess: Well we are about to find out! Let us go back down to the ring for this next great match.

Mr. Jiminez & Mr. Salazar with Joanne Rodriguez vs. Sam Pratt & ???

[Puerto Rico by Eddie Palmieri starts to play on the arena’s sound system as Joanne Rodriguez steps out from behind the backstage curtain. The fans immediately start the “J-HO” chants. J-Ro is followed by her clients Mr. Salazar and Mr. Jiminez.

Finally, the three of them make it to the ring where Mr. Jiminez and Mr. Salazar follow J-Ro up the ring steps. Mr. Jiminez instructs her to hold the ring ropes open for him and Mr. Salazar. Which she does, Mr. Jiminez and Mr. Salazar enter the ring and both men walk to the center of the ring. J-Ro joins them in the center and she holds up their hands. The crowd boos loudly at this duo.]

[Van Halen‘s Jump starts to play across the arena‘s sound system and out comes Sam Pratt from behind the backstage curtain. Sam‘s ribs are still taped up as he makes his way down the ramp, he also is holding a microphone in his hand. When he gets half-way down to the ring he pauses and says:]

Sam Pratt: I bet you all are wondering who my partner is tonight?

[The crowd cheers loudly as they anticipate who this mystery partner could possibly be.]

Sam Pratt: Well you don’t have to wait much longer! Mystery partner come on down you’re the next contestant on, Let’s Beat Mr. Jiminez and Mr. Salazar’s asses!

[sam Pratt points to the back and out steps Jumbo Jackson!]

[For all of you who do not know the history Jumbo Jackson and Sam Pratt used to be tag team partners in the SWF and the two of them along with Lobster Warrior and Mr. Jiminez (as Super Starfish) made up the stable known as the Underwater Union. Jumbo also used to wrestle for NYCW back when he was just starting out in the business so this is a homecoming for him.

Anyway the minute that fans see him they go apes**t! Jumbo and Sam hug and they make their way to the ring. Meanwhile, the normally expressionless Mr. Jiminez is absolutely beside himself. He has a look of fear on his face as Jumbo Jackson is about the last person he thought he was going to have to fight tonight.]

[Now to say this match was an out of control brawl would be an understatement as these men are just beating the holy hell out of one another. Referee Michael Bull tries to maintain some semblance of order. Alas, he can not as these four men are fighting all over the place. Finally, Michael Bull has seen enough and when all four men spill back out onto the arena floor, he has no other choice but to call the match a draw due to a double count-out.]

Winners: No winners

Time: 10:48

Rating: D+

Mitch Naess: That was one hell of a brawl! I for one was expecting the triumphant return of Jumbo Jackson to NYCW!

Rock Downpour: Well Herb I guess your theory about the mystery partner being has-been was completely off base.

[shuffling nervously through his papers.]

Herb Stately: Well…I ah…I plead the fifth…

Mitch Naess: Well while you plead the fifth, let us talk about tonight’s main event, which is about to start, between Land Mass and the Empire Champion Steve Flash. So gentlemen, what are your opinions going into to this next match?

Rock Downpour: Of course I am going to take Steve Flash to win. I mean yes it will be a very tough battle but the dude is a gamer and he seems to elevate his game whenever he has a big match.

Herb Stately: He might be a gamer but tonight he is fighting one of the best cruiserweights in the history of NYCW! Steve Flash is going to be on his toes as he has to try and keep with the high flying Land Mass.

Rock Downpour: High flying and Land Mass, now those are words that I never thought I would hear in the same sentence…

Mitch Naess: Well as we digest that, let us go back down to the ring for our main event!

For the Empire Championship:

Land Mass vs. Steve Flash ©

[Land Mass‘ theme starts to play over the sound system as the 433 pound behemoth from Tulsa, Oklahoma lumbers towards the ring. The crowd starts two alternating chants of “F**k you Land Mass!” and “You’re a fat bastard!”. Land Mass does not looked pleased with this chants as he enters the ring.]

[The houselights dim, and there is a hush that comes over the crowd as everybody in attendance awaits the arrival of the Empire Champion. Finally Jumping Jack Flash by the Rolling Stones starts to blare across the sound system. The spotlight shines on the wrestlers entranceway, Steve Flash soon appears from behind the backstage curtain. The crowd goes nuts for Steve Flash as they start to sing along with the Rolling Stones hit. Steve is back to his normal run down to the ring, having had time to heal over the past couple of months.

When Steve enters the ring he does his usual climbing of the ring ropes and holding the title over his head. As Steve climbs down from the ropes, the house lights come back on slowly. Both men go and stand in there respective corners staring each other down. NYCW senior referee Michael Bull gets the Empire title from Steve Flash.]

[After the in ring introductions the ring announcer (who does not make the mistake of saying that Land Mass weighs 433 pounds), referee Michael Bull holds the Empire Championship Title above his head and then proceeds to show each side of the ring the title so the fans can see the title. He then pauses in front of the challenger, Land Mass, and shows him the title.

After handing the title over to the time keeper, Michael Bull motions for both of the competitors in tonight’s match to come to the center of the ring. The ring announcer stands behind Michael Bull and holds the microphone underneath the arm of Michael. Flash has his normal deadly serious look on his face as he comes face to face with his challenger. While Land Mass looks like he wants to eat the champion.]

Michael Bull: Okay gentlemen, we went over the instructions in the back and I expect a good clean fight. Any questions?

Both fighters shake their heads no, as they keep their opponent’s stare.

Michael Bull: Okay then shake hands if you want to and return to your respective corners.

[steve Flash extends his hand for Land Mass to shake. Land Mass just licks his lips and walks over to his corner.]

[This match is thankfully short as nobody would want to see Steve Flash try and carry Land Mass through a long match. In fact Land Mass gets in most of the offense in this match as he uses Steve Flash as his own personal rag doll.

The match comes to an end when Brendan Idol comes out from the backstage area to cheer on Steve Flash. Land Mass’ attention immediately focuses on his arch-enemy Brendan Idol, seemingly forgetting that he is involved in an Empire Championship match. Land Mass’ distraction proved to be great for Steve Flash as he gets into his Flash zone where nothing seems to hurt him. He drop kicks Land Mass four times in a row, the final one manages to take down the big behemoth. Steve Flash pins Land Mass for the victory.]

Winner and still Empire Champion: Steve Flash

Time: 6:11

Rating: D-

[brendan Idol comes into the ring and congratulates Steve Flash on his victory as the screen fades to black…]

Occ: What happens when you put Land Mass in the Main Event? Well, you have a match like the stinker that was Lee Wright vs. New York Doll make the card. I had four minutes left to book after I did the entire card because I made the main event short due to Land Mass not being able to wrestle over one minute. So I decided to put Lee on the card seeing that he did have sort of a story. As far as his opponent goes New York Doll and Ash Campbell were the only two who did not get booked for this card so I chose NYD because of his awsome alt render. I will say that I hate booking heel vs. heel matches but that was all that was left.

I would like to thank everybody who took the time to make predictions! Congratulations goes to Zeel1 who both picked every match right (That is four shows in a row of making perfect picks for Zell1!)! And anybody who takes the time to read this!

Here are the Prediction records for this card:

Seeing how one match ended in a draw I will not count it.

Foolinc 5/5

Zeel1 5/5

Oldschool 3/5

I am not going to do overall rankings because quite frankly it is a pain to do. However, if people want me to bring them back I will do so.

Land Mass ticked off about not getting any Popeye’s Chicken!

Hey, what is up NYCW fans? It is your boy Rock Downpour here! Sorry for not doing a report last month, I had to take the wife and kids to Disney World and I just did not have the time to write! Sorry about that folks, but now let us get back to the task at hand. At our last event, Battle for New York we saw Steve Flash beat Land Mass thanks in part to the distraction that Brendan Idol caused. After the event Land Mass had this to say:

“Brendan Idol you have got to be one of the dumbest people in NYCW! You dear to interfere in my match! You dear to humiliate me! And to top it all off you caused me to lose out on fifty-three dollars and thirty-three cents? Do you know how much Popeye’s Chicken that could have bought me? Needless to say this thing between me and you is not over!”

Also, according to Honest Frank any trouble that was thought to be happening between him and his New York City’s Finest associate The Big Problem has been smooth over. When asked for a comment about the argument between the two Honest Frank had this to say:

“Look, after a few minutes of discussing why I was unable to help out The Big Problem, he and I hashed out our problems. The Big Problem understands that I was on official stable business, and therefore I was unable to help him out while he was being attacked. So there is no trouble between us, and that’s the honest truth.”

Well I don’t know about you all but when Honest Frank says, “That’s the honest truth” it is usually a lie. So this man thinks that there may be trouble brewing in paradise.

Finally, on a personal note I would just like to welcome back my boy Jumbo Jackson! This dude is one tough mother trucker and if I were Mr. Jiminez I would be very afraid to have this dude pissed off at me.

C-ya next month,

Rock Downpour

occ: To my American readers I just would like to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for stealing the thing that I stole from Marcel Fromage. ;)

Voted. That was a ton of possible tag teams. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Stealing from two of the best isn't a bad thing...or is it?:D

I did not even realize that my roster was large enough to support 12 tag teams. I guess I bloated my roster a bit.

Would like to thank Bigpapa for showing me how to do this.

occ: This roster page is also on page two as well. However, if you are like me you do not go all the way back to the start of the diary to look at things. From here on out I will update this after every five shows or so.

It's nice to know I'm such a trendsetter round here - first Foolinc and now BHK1978. I still seem to recall BigPapa did the whole Survey Monkey thing before me anyway though! :D

I've filled in the survey - was interesting to do.

One suggestion for you - when you choose the Survey Monkey link to put into your post, use the email option rather than the webpage one. The email one opens up a new window, whereas the webpage (that you used) doesn't. I just think it's much better once the survey is complete if you can move straight back to the forum.

Thank you for taking the time to fill out the survey!:)

If I ever do this again (I probably will not due to a lack of response) I will do as you suggested and use the email option.

Thoughts on the vote:

I just wanted to thank Foolinc, Lexa90, Marcel Fromage and no name for voting.

I have to say that I was a little shocked that everybody wanted to see The Big Problem in the Main Event Triple Threat match. And where as I am not a fan of heel vs heel vs heel matches, I will give the fans what they want.:D I was really hoping Whistler would have made the cut.

For the tournament there were no major upsets as the people who made the tournament are featured more then the people who did not. The team of Dazzling Dave Diamond and Brendan Idol just lost out to The North American Connection and Sam Pratt and Jumbo Jackson. My original plan for tournament seeding was to go with how they finished on the poll but the first round would have featured two fan favorties vs fan favorites matches and two heel vs. heel matches and I just did not like that so instead I put them in matches that made sense to me.

So once again thank you all for voting. And hopefully you will enjoy the show.

Just gotta say, you're roster for the most part hits what a slightly updated NYCW would be. It makes me happy.

Round 1:

Team A: The Gang of New York vs. Team B: Land Mass & Lee Wright

Team C: The North American Connection vs.Team D: Mr. Salazar & Mr. Jiminez

Team E: Wiley Coyote vs. Team F: New York City’s Finest: Tag Team Division

Team G: Sam Pratt & Jumbo Jackson vs. Team H: The Sting

Semi-Finals:

Winners of Team A and Team B vs. Winners of Team C and Team D

Winners of Team E and Team F vs. Winners of Team G and Team H

Finals:

NYC's Finest to win it all

Triple Threat Match to see who will face Steve Flash for the Empire Title on the December card:

Black Hat Bailey vs. Honest Frank vs. The Big Problem

Who do you think will win the Battle Royal? 3D or Bradford

Who do you think will be the first eliminated, thus losing their job? Whistler. He seems out of place in the match and he's probably retiring.

We'll give this another go, after placing last, last time around

Quick picks for The King of New York Tag Team Tournament:

Round 1:

Team A: The Gang of New York vs. Team B: Land Mass & Lee Wright

They seem to be the most dominant and most over team in my book

Team C: The North American Connection vs.Team D: Mr. Salazar & Mr. Jiminez

They seem to be pushed more as a team to me

Team E: Wiley Coyote vs. Team F: New York City’s Finest: Tag Team Division

Team G: Sam Pratt & Jumbo Jackson vs. Team H: The Sting

Again, better chemistry as a team by the STing, but Pratt & Jackson may be better finals opponenets

Semi-Finals:

Winners of Team A and Team B vs. Winners of Team C and Team D

I'll go with The Gang of New Yok

Winners of Team E and Team F vs. Winners of Team G and Team H

Pratt & Jackson

Finals:

Winners of the Semi-Finals match-ups

The Gang of New York

Triple Threat Match to see who will face Steve Flash for the Empire Title on the December card:

Black Hat Bailey vs. Honest Frank vs. The Big Problem
