WWE Smackdown 6/11/10

John Morrison won a fifteen man battle royal last eliminating Chris Jericho advance to the Fatal Four Way Match at Extreme Rules in 15:52 Fifteen top Smackdown competitors battled, for an attempt to challenge for the World Heavyweight Title at Fatal Four Way Match. It came down to Chris Jericho and CM Punk against John Morrison, who double team Morrison, but a miscommunication allowed Morrison to dump Punk and then dump Jericho for the win. (B+)

The World Heavyweight Champion Ted DiBiase runs out to attack Morrison. Morrison fights him off but Batista runs out to attack Morrison until the WWE Intercontinental Champion Christian makes the save. Bret Hart makes his way out, to announce tonight Christian and Morrison will take on DiBiase and Batista in the main event.

CM Punk and Chris Jericho defeated Cryme Tyme to advance to the Unified Tag Team Match at Fatal Four Way when Punk pinned JTG with the GTS in 9:55 The winning team will be one of three to challenge the Hart Dynasty at Fatal Four Way for the Unified Tag Team Titles. Shad is double teamed until the hot tag is made to JTG. However, some tactics allow Jericho and Punk to get the win, with Shad being taken out with the Code Breaker and JTG hit with the GTS. Jericho and Punk advance to challenge for the Unified Tag Team Titles at Fatal Four Way. (B-)

We cut backstage to Ted DiBiase, who talks about how he’s lived a life of privilege and wealth. He talks about how he’s become the World Heavyweight Champion and how ever since he lef RAW, Legacy broke apart. DiBiase says that Orton won’t hold the belt for much longer and all Cody Rhodes is doing is following him around like a lost puppy dog. DiBiase says that he’s the fortunate son but they’re more like him. DiBiase states that the odds might be stacked against him at Fatal Four Way but he’s played the odds and came out on top before and he’s has a plan.

The Undertaker defeated Mike Knox via disqualification when Knox attacked the Undertaker with a wrench in 12:33 The Undertaker and Mike Knox had an intense match, with Knox proving to be a tough challenge for the Undertaker. Eventually, the Undertaker took Knox but he bailed after a choke slam and then grabbed a toolbox from underneath the ring, before producing a wrench that he waffled the Undertaker with for a disqualification. (B)

Knox continues to attack the Undertaker with the wrench afterwards, until Kane makes his way to the ringside area, but he’s jumped by Jack Swagger on the ramp. Swagger rams Kane’s injured hand into the guardrail and pounds on him to keep him at bay, as Knox Bicycle Kicks a chair right into the face of the Undertaker. Knox has injured both members of the Brothers of Destruction in many weeks. That has to be an impressive feat!

Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio defeated William Regal and Lance Cade to advance to the Unified Tag Team Title Match at Fatal Four Way when Bourne pinned Cade with the Air Bourne in 17:44 The rough and tumble team of Cade and Regal kept Rey isolated for the vast majority of this match but the fans were chomping at the bit to see Bourne tag in and Bourne does, running wild to cheers. Regal is sent to the floor and Bourne hits a swinging bulldog, before hitting Air Bourne on Cade for the pin, to join the Hart Dynasty and Jericho and Punk in Fatal Four Way. (B-)

After the match, Jericho and Punk come out and try to attack Bourne and Rey but Bourne and Rey fight back, until the Unified Tag Team Champions the Hart Dynasty come out to beat down Bourne and Rey and it is a four on two attack! The fans are booing, as Rey and Bourne are left lying but Jericho and Punk attack the Hart Dynasty and a brawl happens between those teams. It lasts for several minutes, until security comes out. The Hart Dynasty will defend against Chris Jericho and CM Punk, Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio, and a fourth team to be determined, providing of course they get past R-Truth and Yoshi Tatsu this Monday on RAW.

Christian and John Morrison defeated Ted DiBiase and Batista when Christian pinned DiBiase with a roll up in 14:04 An impressive tag team match leading up to Fatal Four Way. Morrison was isolated to take advantage of his weakened conditioning based on competing in a Battle Royal Earlier but he made the hot tag to Christian. Christian run wild but was caught. A miss timed spear from Batista allowed Christian roll up DiBiase to score the pin, scoring his fourth pinfall victory over the World Heavyweight Champion in many weeks. (B-)

Hype for Fatal Four Way as Smackdown goes off the air.

WWE Monday Night RAW 6/14/10

Sheamus comes out to talk the show, to talk about Randy Orton abandoning him. He calls Orton a coward, which brings out the WWE Champion Randy Orton along with Cody Rhodes. Cody tells Sheamus that he isn’t fit to lace Orton’s boots and he only backdoored his way into the title shot. Orton interrupts Cody, saying that Sheamus obviously has delusions of grandeur, considering he couldn’t even beat Jamie Noble back at Over the Limit. Sheamus says he’s done with that little hick but he thinks he can get Orton one on one. Sheamus dares Orton to face him tonight and put the WWE Championship on the line. Cody accepts on behalf of Orton, which Orton doesn’t like but then he suggest that Cody should take care of the Big Show. A pair of big matches signed for tonight.

Gail Kim defeated Katie Lea Burchill with a sunset flip out of the corner in 7:44 The fans are cheering, as Maryse joins us on commentary, talking about how Mia Mancini is the dominant diva in WWE and will keep both of her belts. Katie Lea beats up Gail Kim but Gail comes back, sunset flipping her out of the corner for the pin. (B-)

Gail Kim dropkicks Katie Lea to the floor. Mia Mancini entered the ring and attacks Gail Kim but Gail counters a tilt a whirl into a headscissors. The fans are cheering as Gail Kim stands in the ring. This could be our next Undisputed Women’s Champion. Gail Kim, Katie Lea Burchill. Mickie James, and the champion Mia Mancini for the gold at Fatal Four Way.

R-Truth and Yoshi Tatsu defeated the Hart Dynasty to win the Unified Tag Team Titles when R-Truth pinned Kidd with the Lie Detector in 12:55 The fans were rocking with this tag team match. Yoshi Tatsu was beaten in the ring, with the Hart Dynasty keeping the ring cut in half. Yoshi Tatsu made a false hot tag but since the referee did not see it, R-Truth was ushered back into the corner. The tag is made for real and R-Truth makes the tag. R-Truth enters the ring, running wild. Yoshi Tatsu enters the ring and takes Smith out, with Tyson Kidd getting blasted with the Lie Detector for the pin. (B)

It is announced after the break that R-Truth and Tatsu will defend their Unified Tag Team Titles against The Hart Dynasty, Rey Mysterio and Evan Bourne, and CM Punk and Chris Jericho in a Fatal Four Way Match at Fatal Four Way.

Rene Dupree is in the ring, cutting a promo, talking about his intentions of winning the United States Title with his bodyguard Ezekiel Jackson standing in the background.

Rene Dupree pinned Santino Marella with a Death Valley Driver in 1:12 Dupree obliterates Santino and puts him away for the pin. (D+)

A video package showcasing Kofi Kingston’s last six months with many of the big victories he has achieved and he cuts a promo at the end, promising to win the WWE Championship and finally get to the top this Sunday.

WWE United States Champion MVP defeated Paul Burchill via countout when Edge distracted Burchill on the floor in 9:44 MVP and Burchill have a return match from last week’s tournament final. Burchill managed to beat down MVP, using his rough neck style to batter his opponent but Edge came out to heckle Burchill, allowing MVP to hit a Yakuza Kick to the back of the head and Burchill goes to the floor. Burchill is counted out. (B)

Edge and Burchill brawl on the floor, as the announcers hype the fact that both of these men will fight in a number one contenders match at Fatal Four Way. Burchill reverses a whip into the ring steps and hits a Curb Stomp right to the floor, before Burchill removes the top of the ring steps from the bottom and puts Edge’s foot on it. Burchill smashes the steps right on the foot of Edge! The fans are booing as the announcers talk in hushed tones about how Edge suffered an Achilles tendon injury that put him out for nearly a year and Burchill might have reagrrevated that injury. Edge is being helped as Burchill taunts his downed foe.

The Big Show pinned Cody Rhodes with the knockout punch in 2:22 This was a game of cat and mouse, with Rhodes trying to keep away from the Big Show. He tries for a sleeperhold but Show flips Rhodes onto his feet and punches him out for the pin. (C+)

The Big Show cuts a promo, vowing to win the WWE Championship at Fatal Four Way, saying that there is no man as big or as bad as he is.

WWE Champion Randy Orton pinned Sheamus after using the belt on him in 10:22 Sheamus uses his power to muscle Orton into the corner a lot before Orton goes the leg and works it over. Shemus comes back, throwing Orton but his overzealous attacks causes the referee to get taken out. This allows Orton to grab the WWE Championship Belt and wallop Sheamus for the pin. (B)

Orton celebrates with a smug look on his face, but this Sunday the deck could be stacked against him as he faces off against Kofi Kingston, Sheamus, and the Big Show. In six days at Fatal Four Way.

ECW On Sy Fy 6/15/10

Hype for the Fatal Four Way Extreme Rules Match this Sunday for the ECW Championship but tonight, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, the former World’s Greatest Tag Team, will team up against Bryan Danielson and the ECW Champion Drew McIntyre.

Justin Gabriel pinned Tyler Reks with the 450 Splash in 8:55 Carlito watched this match from the ramp, but Gabriel was able to put Reks away handily with a breath taking 450 Splash. Carlito has a match with Jimmy Wang Yang on Superstars and is no doubt going to use that to send a message to Justin Gabriel. (E-)

A look at the Dudebusters, who state their case that they deserve to be in the Unified Tag Team Championship Match at Fatal Four Way and will get in, by beating the Unified Tag Team Champions tonight. They talk about how they’ve been on quite the roll and tonight they’ll roll right to the gold.

Yoshi Tatsu and R-Truth retained the Unified Tag Team Titles over the Dudebusters when Yoshi pinned Croft with a Roundhouse Kick in 13:22. An impressive battle to say the least. The Dudebusters showed that they were no pushovers and they really took out to the champions but Yoshi Tatsu and R-Truth kept the Unified Tag Team Titles. (C-)

A video package hyping up Kaval and his wins on ECW. We then end with a short promo, as Kaval challenges the winner of the ECW Championship Match at Fatal Four Way.

ECW Champion Drew McIntyre and Bryan Danielson defeated Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin when Danielson pinned Benjamin with a German Suplex in 17:22 A back and forth tag team match, highlighting the four competitors in the Extreme Rules Fatal Four Way Match. The World’s Greatest Tag Team showed some tag team moves, but a miscommunication allowed Danielson to hit a German Suplex for the pin. Afterwards, McIntyre took out Danielson and stood tall with the ECW Championship, this Sunday. (B)

WWE Superstars 6/17/10

Hype for tonight’s huge main event on WGN, featuring a huge tag team match from Friday Night Smackdown, with Rey Mysterio and Evan Bourne, one of the challenging teams for the Unified Tag Team Titles at Fatal Four Way taking on Eric Escobar and Chavo Guerrero. Chavo and Escobar are hungry for a win and would no doubt like to knock off a top contending tag team.

Jamie Noble is out to the ring, asking if there’s any rednecks in the house. The fans cheer and Noble says that he hopes that he could be their Redneck Messiah, Jamie “By Gawd” Noble, which gets cheers. Noble says that he’s going to celebrate tonight by sitting back and celebrating in his trailer, “drinking beer, eating biscuits and gravy and watching NASCAR” which gets a big pop. Out comes Zack Ryder, along with Rosa Mendes. Ryder talks about how Noble might have gotten lucky the last two times they’ve fought but this time, Ryder is going to have the last laugh tonight. Ryder says that he gets his ring attire custom made from the best stores in New York while Jamie Noble gets his from Walmart. Noble takes Ryder to task, telling him that he better not be badmouthing Walmart and Ryder says that he’s going to knock some sense into Noble tonight. “Woo, Woo, You Know it!” Noble looks disgusted and says that he’s going to whoop Ryder worse than “my Daddy whooped me when I was getting into mischief.”

Jamie Noble pinned Zack Ryder with a rolling cradle into a bridge in 10:01 Rosa was running constant interference, but Noble grabbed her and kissed her. Rosa swooned and fainted on the mat, which caused Ryder to snap and try to attack Noble but Noble ducked his attack, before ramming him into the corner and rolling him up to score the pin. Noble has gotten the better of Zack Ryder once again and it looks like Rosa Mendes may be smitten with the Redneck Messiah. (B-)

Carlito pinned Jimmy Wang Yang with the Back Stabber in 8:22 Carlito’s recent issues with Justin Gabriel are talked about but tonight Carlito gets a victory. Yang took advantage of Carlito’s arrogance, scoring a number of nearfalls but a mooonsault missed and Carlito hit the Back Stabber for the pin. (C+)

Look at R-Truth and Yoshi Tatsu winning the Unified Tag Team Titles from the Hart Dynasty and hype for the Unified Tag Team Title Match at Fatal Four Way, where these two teams will joining the team of Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio and the team of CM Punk and Chris Jericho. Speaking of Bourne and Mysterio, they’re in action up next on Superstars.

Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio defeated Eric Escobar and Chavo Guerrero when Bourne pinned Escobar with the Air Bourne in 11:52 An insane match, with Escobar and Chavo using every dastardly tactic to keep Rey in the corner. The fans were going insane, wanting to see Bourne get in and they got one false hot tag, before the real hot tag was made. Bourne rushes into the ring cleaning house. Chavo gets wiped out with the 6-1-9 from a recovering Rey and Bourne takes down Escobar, before hitting the Air Bourne for the pin. Mysterio and Bourne get a huge win tonight on Superstars, as they prepare for their challenge for the Unified Tag Team Titles this Sunday. (B+)

WWE Smackdown 6/18/10

Jack Swagger pinned Matt Hardy with the Gutwrench Power Bomb in 12:11 An intense opening match, with back and forth action and a multitude of nearfalls. Hardy managed to nearly pin Swagger, but Swagger hung up Hardy on the corner and hit the Gutwrench Power Bomb for the pin. Swagger cuts a brief promo, vowing to be the franchise player on Smackdown and says that he can take out anyone, including the Undertaker, which gets some boos and the announcers wondering if Swagger has a death wish. (B)

CM Punk and Chris Jericho are backstage, along with Vince McMahon, who is rocking back and forth on a rocking chair, muttering underneath his breath, wringing his hands. Punk suggests that it would be essential to Mr. McMahon’s rehab if Punk and Jericho were given a Unified Tag Team Title Shot tonight. McMahon agrees, before he mutters underneath his breath that there are only thirty more days left before he can make Punk pay.

Kane pinned William Regal with a big boot in 5:44 This was a brutal match to say the least. Regal worked over the hand of Kane, preventing him from delivering the Choke Slam but Kane caught Regal with a big boot and hit a second one, knocking Regal unconscious to score the pin. (B)

Kane goes backstage after the match but Mike Knox attacks him right as he comes into the backstage area. Knox throws Kane right into cinderblocks and knocks him out with a Bicycle Kick, before pushing them over, burying Kane underneath them. Kane lays in the wreckage, completely unconscious, as Knox talks about how Kane’s not the most feared force on Smackdown. Knox is.

After the break, we see Kane strapped to a stretcher, with an oxygen tank put on him and on a back brace. The announcers talk about how Knox really did a number on Kane. Kane is being taken away for medical treatment and the scheduled Mike Knox against Kane match for Fatal Four Way might be in jeopardy.

Batista pinned WWE Intercontinental Champion Christian in a non title match with a spinebuster after DiBiase tripped Christian in 10:11 Batista and Christian had a nice preview for this Sunday’s Fatal Four Way match for the World Heavyweight Title. The World Heavyweight Champion Ted DiBiase came down, as Batista beat on Christian but Christian fought back with a flurry of offense, including a tornado DDT and a Frog Splash. Christian beats on Batista but Killswitch is blocked and DiBiase trips up Christian. Spinebuster hits Christian for the pin. (B+)

Batista and DiBiase stomp Christian before Batista turns on DiBiase, laying him out with a huge lariat but John Morrison runs out, to take care of Batista. DiBiase leaves the ring, clutching his jaw. He’s been out gunned tonight and the odds are stacked against the World Heavyweight Champion.

Mike Knox pinned Primo with the Bicycle Kick in 1:44 Primo was pretty much the designated lamb to slaughter as Knox punished him, before knocking him unconscious with a Bicycle Kick and pinning him. (C-)

The lights go out and the voice of the Undertaker fills the arena, talking about how Knox has sealed the fate of his own eternal torment. Knox looks a bit intimidated, as the Undertaker says that he might have taken one brother down but the beating that Knox gave the Undertaker last week did not successfully finish him off and the Undertaker’s coming for Knox at Fatal Four Way. The Undertaker promises that Knox will Rest in Peace. It appears that the Undertaker will be replacing Kane in his match with Mike Knox at Fatal Four Way.

Chris Jericho and CM Punk won the Unified Tag Team Titles from R-Truth and Yoshi Tatsu when Jericho made Tatsu submit to the Walls of Jericho in 12:02 An impressive back and forth match, with Tatsu and Truth giving quite the fight but in the end, the dastardly tactics of Jericho and Punk prove to be the deciding factor and we have new Unified Tag Team Champions two days before Fatal Four Way. Punk takes Truth out as Jericho traps Tatsu in the Walls of Jericho, forcing him to submit. (B-)

The Miz cuts a promo, promising to show why he deserved to be in the World Heavyweight Title Fatal Four Way and not John Morrison.

John Morrison pinned the Miz with the Starship Pain in 13:55 The Miz seemed determined to show up his former partner Morrison, just as Morrison seemed determined to really put on a show. The Skull Crushing Finale is blocked, before Morrison hits the Pele Kick and the Starship Pain for the pin. (B-)

Hype for Fatal Four Way this Sunday and we are out.
