Jaysin
Nigel and Mauro might be the best announce duo in the game right now. Mauro does great play by play and Nigel explains things from a wrestler's perspective with kayfabe and psychology in mind. Utterly delightful to listen to. CQI13
Cass needs a haircut. And the roster needs to watch his NXT stuff to know to go for his knees.
Warhawk8492
It sucks Lesnar won again. I am sick of him to be honest. I really hope they don't have him keep the title until Wrestlemania just to lose it to Boreman Reigns.
Blackman
After seeing NXT Takeover earlier today I watched Summerslam. I must say I was disappointed with the event as a whole. Takeover was awesome on all levels, but Summerslam started out so slow and boring. Good grief... The main event was a wakeup call so according to the "perfect show" theory I guess I'll still rate the event highly. Still... not many good things come out of this show imo. Makes me think how it's lame of them to host two PPV's on one weekend. Even the people who've seen Summerslam the day after NXT will be burned out somewhat. Mootinie
Braun Strowman is the best wrestler in the world.
milamber
Best of SummerSlam:

- New Day vs The Usos killing it on the Kickoff Show

- Nattie winning the title

- Rollins & Ambrose vs The Bar

- Cesaro destroying the beach ball

- Shane being knocked around like he's never wrestled before LOL

- Fatal Fourway carnage. Strowman was the MVP. No Mercy should be his time to shine but knowing Vince, Lesnar will hold the title until Wrestlemania

Worst of SummerSlam:

- Jason Jordan desperately needs to turn heel

- Boring Cass vs Show match on the main show while 2 titles were relegated to the Kickoff Show

- Orton squashing Rusev

- Jinder handing Nakamura his first loss

- Lesnar retaining the title. At least he took some big bumps instead of spamming suplexes.

Verdict: Too much mediocrity for a 6 hour PPV. Takeover wiped the floor with it.

Raw was OK. Miz's promo was straight fire. milamber
Smackdown was better than Raw with Roode and Benjamin debuts, Nakamura clowning the Singhs, Carmella & Ellsworth giving Nattie crap, Meta Ziggler and US Title match.

What the hell are they thinking cutting that from the main show? That match was better than the entire undercard put together (and then some...). BHK1978
My two friends went to the RAW show in Boston, the Smackdown show in Providence, NXT Takeover, SummerSlam and RAW in Brooklyn. I do not know how they did it. I could not watch that much wrestling in the span of a week on television. Never mind paying to see it. Heck after going to the ROH PPV I went the next day to the TV taping and I left after they finished filming the second show. This was partly because it got to the point where it was too much wrestling to watch (I also had to get up early the next day) and I got the TV taping tickets for free
James Casey
Random thought: I realised recently that I had no recollection of Triple H and John Cena ever feuding. Ridiculous, right? They're the two biggest names of the decade from 2000-10, the quintessential face/heel during that time, they main-evented a Wrestlemania (22). It must have been a significant feud, likely took up somewhere from 3-6 months of airtime, on and off. But I drew a complete blank on it all. The only time I remembered them even being in the same ring together was a triple threat with Shawn Michaels, and the only thing I remembered from that was Michaels ambushing HHH with Sweet Chin Music about 30 seconds in. I had to look up the feud on Wikipedia. I can only assume that, like HHH/Orton, Cena/Orton, Cena/Edge and basically every other top line feud around that time, it was flogged to death and (probably) boring as dirt towards the end, so maybe I've not lost anything by forgetting it. I also think it's likely that it was the last WM that I didn't watch live, so that may be a part of it. Still: Odd one. (I've just done some more research, and they had a triple threat with Orton at WM24, with that feud running on for months as well. How has this completely vanished from my memory?) I cannot for the life of me remember various feuds over the past twenty years or so, but if you ask me about stuff from the 80's and 90's I remember it pretty well for the most part.

Part of me wonders if it is because wrestling had become so overexposed over the last twenty years. Therefore, everything tends to blend together and nothing truly stands out.

That is what happened to me with wrestling and MMA. Before both were not on as much or there were other promotions offering different products. I liked the UFC a lot more when they were only on once or twice a month. Same thing with the WWE, I actually hated when they started to add the In Your House Pay-Per-Views because I viewed it as being too much.

Hands down that was the best I ever seen with Roman but John is always on another level. SanX
And this got me wondering, Cena Vs RR is maybe the only big time match we haven't seen on TV or seen before. After that, I don't think there are any First time big matches WWE can present.

Wow, Cena was serious and this felt like that Raw promo Vs Rock, where he pointed out that Rock was reading lines from his Palm.

Also, he improvised a lot and I think it turned into worked shoot and Reigns cursing gave it away.

Nonetheless great Segment.
Blackman
I might be losing my mind, but I actually loved that promo by Cena and Reigns, two superstars I usually not get excited about (to put it mildly). Cena put aside his childish comments and got serious for just one minute. Sweet stuff.

And yet another Emma vs Mickie match. It's like x-mas compared to recent history. And the main event was good too.
Blackman
Watched the first episode of the Mae Young classic and the action was great. Lita's commentary nearly ruined it for me though. milamber
Looking forward to next lot of Mae Young Classic episodes. Jaysin
I know she said "old" by women's wrestling standards, but I really hope Jazzy gets picked up by WWE.
