Although the company did manage to establish it'self as a thorn in the SWF's side it never really looked like taking over as the undisputed number one promotion. In late 2004, the ownership of the company passed to a group of investors led by legendary wrestler Tommy Cornell; realising that fighting SWF at their own game was doomed to failure, he began the process of rebuilding TCW as a more traditional wrestling promotion, putting more emphasis on quality wrestling and athletic ability, in essence creating an "ant-SWF" with which to fight them. Ramaeno
(additional company information provided by TEW-Wiki) A Brief History of TCW http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/HGC.jpg Hollyweird Grappling Company (HGC) 1996-2004 HGC was originally intended as an attempt to take on American's most dominant promotion, the SWF, in a head-to-head war by closely mimmicking their patented "sports entertainment" style and using big names like the legendary Sam Strong to draw in viewers. Although the company did manage to establish itself as a thorn in the SWF's side, it never really looked like taking over as the undisputed number one promotion. Signed to the original roster were stars Sam Strong, Rip Chord, and Larry and Bryan Vessey. They gave the new promotion immediate legitimacy, attracted by the big contracts offered by teenaged millionaire owner J.K. Stallings Jr. Some other notable workers who were with HGC from the start include Ricky Dale Johnson and Tyson Baine. Tommy Cornell would join in the later part of 1997. One of HGC's most popular stables was Painful Procedure, a rock band made up of BJ Shearer (Drums), Jack Bruce (Vocals), Randall Hopkirk (Bassist) and Ronnie V. Pain (Guitarist). http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/TCW_alt2.jpg Total Championship Wrestling (TCW) 2004 The Booking Team The Booking team in 2004 was made up of Jason Azaria, Rip Chord and Charlie Thatcher, with Sam Strong as the Head Booker. 2005 By the end of 2004 Tommy Cornell had led a team of investors to take over TCW from J.K. Stallings. The change in owner however, didn't see the company's bank balance change as dramatically as most people had foreseen. Cornell was quick to realise that fighting SWF at their own game was doomed to failure, so he started the process of rebuilding TCW. He put about a process of billing TCW as an updated Traditional Promotion, with values held on in ring performance over that of over the top story lines. Story lines they did have were kept simple and easy to follow, and only served to enhance the reason two wrestlers would be fighting. 2007-2008 Basic Information: Founded: December 1996 Location: Hollywood, California Popularity: National Money: USD $18,000,000 (estimated) Staff Owner: Tommy Cornell Head Booker: Ramaeno Ramaelli - credit http://tew.wikia.com/wiki/Total_Championship_Wrestling
Ramaeno
TCW FRONT OFFICE OWNER http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/tommylarge.jpg TOMMY CORNELL Name: Tommy Cornell Title(s): Owner, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), President "Rough Justice" Tommy Cornell is considered by many within the industry to be the finest worker of his generation. A natural heel with an ability to make virtually any opponent look great, he also has youth on his side. He broke into the business with the SWF as a young blue chipper, but eventually moved on to their main rivals HGC. Eventually he lead a group of investors that purchased the company and after changing its name to Total Championship Wrestling he began masterminding their change in style and fortunes. A multi-time world champion of the promotion, in 2007 he started The Syndicate, a heel stable that got over hugely and helped TCW get even closer to knocking the SWF off its perch as the number one promotion in America. BOOKER http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h247/Ramaeno/ramaenolarge.jpg RAMAENO RAMAELLI Name: Ramaeno Ramaelli Title(s): Executive, General Manager, Head Booker. New York City native Ramaeno Ramaelli is a well travelled wrestling booker whose had various stints in all of the major organizations of North America as well as a handful of the minor promotions. In addition Ramaelli has served as a producer and backstage hand. He is perhaps best known for penning the storylines for the SWF during the late 90's and is specifically credited for developing the ever popular Ultimate Force character played by Jim Force. After leaving SWF in 2000 he joined the HGC where he became a favorite of company owner J.K Stallings Jr. In 2004 when Tommy Cornell purchased the HGC Ramaeno was fired and worked nomadically in the business until December 2007 when Tommy Cornell elected to rehire Ramaelli as the head booker of the company in a shocking move most certainly designed to shake things up. Ramaeno
TCW FRONT OFFICE ITINERARY TCW PROMOTION PACTS: TCW vs SWF(at war) Additional information: Some call it the Tuesday Night Wars, some call it Total Extreme Warfare. Other variations of the name are The Battle for Supremecy, The Wrestling War or just plain old SWF vs TCW. Over the years, much has been said and much has been written by wrestlers, front office employees, ex-wrestlers and fans alike. It is like a religious battle, with loyal fans for each company throwing all of their emotion and at times blood sweat and tears behind the company they feel is most superior. The facts are, the war began in the mid 1990's when J.K Stallings Jr. founded HGC which is today known as Total Championship Wrestling. Prior to the creation of HGC, the SWF held a virtually monopoly over the wrestling industry. In households across the country merely speaking the world "Wrestling" would be an instant reference to the SWF, it's championship and it's roster. When the HGC was created and bankrolled by the seemingly endless resources of it's eccentric billionaire founder, that all changed and now for over a decade both organizations have been at each others throats with the resounding opinion that SWF has perpetually been a few notches above the TCW in terms of popularity and product. Every Tuesday night, millions of wrestlings fans across the country pledge their allegiance in the form of television viewer ratings to the company they support. The war has been going on for over a decade and there seems to be no end in sight. Stealing each others wrestlers, ideas, blasting each other on television and in the media, it is a blood thirsty war that has revolutionized the industry. While the war continues every day, including this very second of writing, only one fact about the war is undeniable and that is that despite all of the slander, all of the thousands of matches, hundreds of wrestlers and storylines that have come and gone, one factor is the most important and one factor has benefited the most from the war. That factor is, the wrestling fan.
