OMWF Tag Team Title Match: Absolutely Flawless © vs Sifu & Ralph Grimm

Title change might be happening in a near future but I just don´t see a random pairing winning Flawless here

I agree with John here only one of these guys do anything with a win here

Aleksander Knyazev vs. Gordon Leve

I think Leve is more talented of these two

OMWF No Country For Old Men

June 2011

Jake's Bar, Owl Hill, Belgium

RG walks backstage.

RG: “Darius, come over here!

DH: “What’s up, guv?

RG: “Darius, I’ve hired another booker. A young Greek kid, called Cephalus Nikopolidis. He’s taking over tonight’s show.

DH: “Oh, okay.

RG: “You know, your talk last month…it really got to me. I got me thinking. And I thought and thought. Till I came up with this.

DH: “So…”

RG: “Well, you know….you’re still welcome here to have beers but this should allow you to stay at home, if you want.

DH: “Well, do you want to know that Simon Ice brought free beer and that Koskinen and Kelly Martin are talking about flowers and stuff?

RG: “Your missus will like this. You being at home. And probably…well…the Greek kid has some pretty interesting ideas about matches so…

DH: “Guv?

RG: “Shut up, Darius.

DH: “Okay, guv

Dark Match: Mathias Koskinen defeated Simon Ice and Michael X in 8:27 when Mathias Koskinen defeated Michael X by pinfall with a Crucifix Powerbomb.

Another training match for these three. The crowd still doesn’t like Simon Ice but the match was okay enough. Koskinen dominates and wins with his trademark finisher. No more Norwegian jokes….this month.

Sharp & Co aren’t featuring on the show this month but look good enough, beating Dutch Domination. Sharp hits the pin victory for the title contenders.

OMWF Tag Team Title Match: Sifu and Ralph Grimm defeated Absolutely Flawless © in 8:17 when Lance Martin was disqualified while fighting Sifu.

The Flawless ones retain again but only by cheating. Grimm & Sifu, pairing up for the first time last week, got a title shot and took it to the champs. Sifu in particular, looked dangerous. After an illegal tag, Lance Martin took over the offence but got countered. The champs, unable to get momentum going, resorted to a calculated defeat: Sifu, looking ready to set up Lance Martin for his finisher, found himself eating a chair-shot by Kelly Martin. Ref Neill Feirn calls for the bell.

Bedlam defeated The Snowman in 7:40 by disqualification.

Snowman starts the bout livedly, throwing Bedlam around the ring. Bedlam, in pain, seems to shrug things off. Snowman follows him outside and whips him over the guardrail. Bedlam counters with a few stiff shots himself. The match spills back into the ring, Bedlam hitting a Superplex and both competitors going down afterwards. Bedlam, holding his back, steps outside and gets a chair. He holds it as Snowman steps into the ring. Bedlam stares at Snowman…who is absolutely intense…and Bedlam just throws the chair at him and invites Snowman to hit him with it. CRASH!!! DQ! Bedlam goes down, a trinkle of blood on his forehead. Snowman wants to take him out more but the ref stops him. Bedlam gets up, sips his finger into his busted forehead and tastes it…and walks backstage.

Aleksander Knyazev defeated Gordon Leve in 7:13 by count out.

Former top contender Leve takes on Knyazev here and looks sharp indeed. He technically dominates Knyazev but misses a cross body attempt. Knyazev goes into the offense and takes it to Leve. The end comes with Leve hitting a step-over out on the apron and Knyazev hitting a stiff superkick on him, sending him into the guard-rail. Knyazev thinks about getting Leve into the ring but turns back, picking up the count-out victory.

First Blood Match: Jason Dempsey defeated Leigh Burton in a First Blood match in 8:12 when Leigh Burton was busted open.

OMWF’s first First blood match sees an intense and livid Dempsey pulling out all the legal (and illegal) stops against Leigh Burton. Burton puts up a good fight but Dempsey is all over him, ending things with a very brutal and stiff chair shot on the head of Burton (thank God his mom stopped attending)…Burton is busted open and Dempsey just steps into the ring and points out the bloodied forehead. Ref Neil Feirn calls for the bell as Dempsey celebrates…only to go outside and hit Burton again with a chair

TLC Match for the OMWF King of the Hill Title: Nigel Svensson © defeated Wade Orson in a TLC match in 10:26 when Nigel Svensson retrieved the item. During the match we also had Jason Dempsey distract Svensson. Nigel Svensson makes defence number 4 of his OMWF King of the Hill Title title.

Orson gets his title shot in a TLC match, but both seem to struggle in this match. An even and hard-fought match, with Svensson getting distracted by Dempsey, both struggled with the spots. Orson hit a nice moonsault off the ladder and Svensson countered with some stiff moves onto a chair. Svensson in the end locks on the Hyper Extension Arm Lock, followed by a brutal legdrop onto a chair on the arm of Orson. Svensson quickly sets up a ladder and retrieves his belt. Fair enough!

I like this- it's funny, and it's nice to have the owner being kind of a douchebag rather than the guy trying to keep order.

As for advice: you don't have to get rid of huge numbers of people, but the National School of Wrestling guys are a great future source of talent. You've got a lot of good european guys at the top, and the Martins and JMS are good guys to have in the tag division, but you should look to make as much use of the NSW guys as you can.

RG is pacing around nervously before the show. Jimmy, already having paid his entrance ticket, walks up to him.

Jimmy: “Hey, what’s up?”

RG: “Shut up, Jimmy.”

Jimmy: “Easy now. There’s quite a few people here tonight. Well, I think about 10 or so. You’ve done worse.”

RG: “It’s not that, Jimmy.”

Jimmy: “Oh, what then?”

RG: “I just told Knyazev that I was dropping him down the pecking order.”

Jimmy: “Oh…how did he take it?

RG: “Hmmm…not so good. So … yeah … I, well…panicked.”

Jimmy: “How’s that?”

RG: “I just took the first person I thought who could take on Knyazev and made all kinds of promises…

Jimmy: “I don’t want to know…”

RG: “Really?”

Jimmy: “Really!”

The Snowman and Mathias Koskinen defeated Dutch Domination in 5:33 when The Snowman defeated Armand Hardwicke by submission with a Tongan Death Grip.

The powerful combo of Snowman and Koskinen makes short work of the Dutch Duo though neither seemed to be interested in working together. Koskinen, essentially a heel, and Snowman didn’t work as a pair but had no problems overpowering the regular tag team. Snowman finished things off with the Tongan Death Grip as Koskinen just left the ringside area.

Elimination Match for the OMWF Tag Team Title: Absolutely Flawless © defeated Sharp & co in 8:17; Lance Martin was eliminated first, then Joe Simpson, and finally Jon Michael Sharp. Absolutely Flawless make defence number 5 of their OMWF Tag Team Titles titles.

The title contenders start off strongly, managing to corner Lance Martin for a long time. Lance fights free however and goes one on one against Jon Michael Sharp who surprises him with a quick cradle-roll up for the three count. Sharp tags in Simpson to face Kelly Martin but Simpson misses a dropkick and eats a double German Suplex for his trouble. Simpson tries to fight back, managing a hot tag on Sharp who kicks Kelly Martin around. Simpson wants the tag, gets it and misses a lariat to bump into Jon Michael Sharp who’s dazed. Kelly Martin rolls up Simpson from behind for the elimination, and immediately goes after the dazed Sharp to finish him off. Martins retain!

Jon Michael Sharp shrugs and pats Simpson on the shoulder, only to hit a vicious clothesline out of nowhere. He proceeds to kick the prone Simpson all the way to the dressing room. Guess that’s the end of this team (and Simpson for now in OMWF) and Sharp has done a nice little heel turn here.

A good match out of these two. Ralph Grimm is a pretty solid competitor and can make himself and his opponent look quite good. 4 way Top Contender match: Wade Orson defeated Aleksander Knyazev, Sifu and Leigh Burton in 8:08 when Wade Orson defeated Aleksander Knyazev by pinfall with a Fisherman's Suplex.

Belgium Beer Brawl Bonanza for the OMWF King of the Hill Title: Bedlam defeated Nigel Svensson and Jason Dempsey in 12:05 when Bedlam defeated Nigel Svensson by pinfall with a Bedlam Bomb. Bedlam wins the OMWF King of the Hill Title title.

An even bout for most of the match. Dempsey started out strong, going after Svensson with everything he could lay his hands on. Bedlam looked the most sedate, letting both beat eachother. Svensson took over and whipped Dempsey into the pool table and broke a cue over his head. Dempsey retaliated with a stiff shot with a beer glass, drawing a bit of blood from Svensson. Dempsey tried to go for a suplex but Svensson grabbed the arm and slapped on the Hyper Extension Arm Lock. Only for Bedlam to strike with stiff pool cue shots on the two others. Dempsey was down and Bedlam grabbed Svensson and hit a brutal Bedlam Bomb onto a bar table for the pinfall!

Two heels facing each other in a pretty bland but okay dark match. Grimm gets the better of Koskinen, who’s a nice guy but I don’t seem to know how, where and why to book or push him. And a finisher called the Grimm Reaper is so bland but cool at the same time.

Pretty much a walkover for the Flawless Ones. The Martins dominate the Dutchies who seem frustrated with themselves, especially after trying an illegal tag and getting the worse of the exchange. Jon Michael Sharp comes out ****y and looking an arrogant dude-like prick after his heel turn last week. Let's see what he can do as a singles competitor as Joe Simpson's contract hasn't been extended.

A pretty even match, Leve getting the better momentum but Sharp distracted the referee, got time to wrap a chain around his fist and nailed Leve with it for the pin. A cheap win…not bad though.

Hardcore match: The Snowman defeated Aleksander Knyazev in 7:37 by pinfall with a Snow Ball.

A poorish match-up between these two. Snowman still struggles at playing the face, especially while viciously attacking another opponent. Knyazev doesn’t like hardcore matches. Snowman dominates and looks good in a bland match. The Snowman finishes things with The Snowball after hitting Knyazev about 10 times with a chair (extra costs for Jake’s Bar!).

Baseball Bat on a Pole Match: Jason Dempsey defeated Nigel Svensson in 9:44 by pinfall with a Running Bulldog

An intense, and viciously even, match. Svensson went after Dempsey from the word go and hit him with every textbook manoeuvre he could think off. Svensson repeatedly set up the ladder to retrieve the baseball bat but Dempsey recovered and knocked Svensson off the ladder to the outside. When Dempsey tried to recover the bat, Svensson regained his ground and knocked Dempsey off! Svensson in the end recovered the bat with Dempsey on the outside, but, out of nowhere, Dempsey grabbed a chair to counter the first baseball bat shot straight back into Svensson face. Dempsey looked on and showed no mercy….multiple baseball bat shots knocked Svensson down and Dempsey, quite corky by now, finished things off in style with the Running Bulldog for a surprise win. The crowd enjoyed this one!

Bedlam has his first title defence and Orson gets his second title shot. A pretty even match but Bedlam seems to be the calm and collected one, hardly taking any initiative but looking for an error of Orson. Orson starts strong, hitting a double fire lariat and a big airplane spin slam but Bedlam kicks Orson in the face after reversing an Irish whip and starts slowing him down. RG: ‘So, what did you think about the show?”

Jimmy: “It wasn’t bad.”

RG: “Not bad?”

Jimmy: “Well, it wasn’t good.”

RG: “Not good?

Jimmy: “You should get that new German guy someone to work with. He’s not bad. Look at this ad.”

RG: “Irwin Gutmann? That sounds German.”

Jimmy: “Give the guy a call. He can take the car with that Grimm guy.”

RG: “Not a bad idea. Why don’t I call him…just a sec.

RG looks at the add and dials the number.

IG: “Gutmann.”

RG: “Spreche I with Itwin Gutmann?”

IG: „Jawohl.“

RG: „I have ein federation wrestling…in Belgien. Haben Du interest? Ich pay 100$ und your expenses! Und you can ride mit Ralph Grimm.”

IG: “Why are you speaking so funny?”

RG: “Euhm….are you interested?”

IG: “I’ll be there next show.”

RG hangs up the phone. “Well, that went well. Now to name my new team. Do you have any ideas, Jimmy?

Jimmy: “The German Hangovers

RG: “No, that sounds too … “

Jimmy: “The Led Zeppelins?”

RG: “No

Jimmy: “The Berliner Pretzels?”

RG: “No….how about German Rage?”

Jimmy: “I hate it.”

RG: “German Rage….that has a ring to it…”
