PRE SHOW

Potter warms up for his first match in months by having a match. In a match that had some good action and average heat, Potter defeated Austin Aries in 6:24 by pinfall with a Clayhead. C+

Sunday, week 3, October 2003

Silver Spurs Arena, Kissiemmee, FL.

Live on UrbanXtra pay per view

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing... FLEETWOOD MAC...

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBWp6Us3oEc?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBWp6Us3oEc?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

The crowd are raucous as Mike Tenay and Don West detail the wrestlers who aren't available tonight and the changes to the night's card as a result. Potter is not on commentary due to competing tonight, and just as Tenay and West finish, the cameras cut to the car park where America's Most Wanted are seen arriving at the arena, and say that they have the balls to fight and they're going home with the Tag Team Championship. C+

Frankie Kazarian v Robert Roode

America's Most Wanted partner in crime competed in the opener against Kazarian in what was a good match and the crowd are rocking, shouting out with the referee's count and chanting back and forth for each wrestler despite neither of them being particularly popular in TNA. Kazarian was a fair bit strong than Roode in the match who struggled to garner any opportunities to try and take the win. Kazarian eased to success in this one in 7:12 by pinfall with a Wave Of The Future. C-

Christopher Daniels, Little Guido & Middle Eastern Nightmare v Doug Williams, Harry Smith (with Dusty Rhodes), Jody Fleisch & Potter

Another good match. It had a good mix of technical wrestling, fast paced wrestling and chaotic eight man action. If the start of the show is the trend for the rest of it, then the fans are in for a treat and a show very much worth their money. Dusty did some sterling work at ringside for Harry Smith who's stock is rising since his link up with Dusty, while Potter looked good, a tremendous feat for a guy who has barely wrestled in the past eighteen months. This helped the Brits to gain the victory over their international opponents which came in 9:29 when Harry Smith defeated Christopher Daniels by submission with a Bulldog Bite. C

The camera cuts backstage where we find Sid Vicious warming up for his match later against Steve Corino. He's looking especially mean and intense tonight. C+

'Alpha Male' Monty Brown v Judas Mesias

I have to admit, that I had this match down as one that would potentially let the show down. Thankfully, both guys stepped up and put on a watchable match. The pace was never going to be quick, but the power was there, especially from Monty, which he utilised to good effect, overpowering his opponent in 5:49 by pinfall with The Pounce. C-

Mr Wrestling IV v Vampiro

Everybody is stepping up to the plate so far tonight and it's really pleasing. Both men here left nothing behind in a contest that was an intriguing mix of IV's mysterious yet technical efficient style versus the dark and sometimes vicious ways of Vampiro. Their respective styles both worked as both men fought close to victory. With IV tiring, it looked like Vampiro would bag this one but IV dug deep and claimed the contest in 10:58 by pinfall with a Sudan Elbow Drop. C+

A video recap is shown of American Dragon laying out his open challenge for Bound for Glory II and Paul London accepting it. Dragon then lets known his disappointment and anger he won't get the chance to take Paul London apart and he will take it out on his new opponent. C-

American Dragon v Mike Quackenbush

A technically sound match but it suffered in that it was heel versus heel, though TNA management were really struggling trying to find a last minute opponent suitable for Dragon. He was better than Quackenbush, who far from disgraced himself with Dragon taking it in 10:19 by submission with an Arms Across America. D+

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Backstreet Boyz (champions) v America's Most Wanted (Storm & Harris) v Latin American Exchange (Hernandez & Estrada)

With all the build up over the past couple of months to a big three way Tag Team Championship match, it was a big let down that Joel Maximo is unavailable tonight. It took quite a lot of interest out of the match from the fans.

Fortunately, Hernandez stepped up big time and put in a very good performance. Unfortunately, his partner Estrada didn't.

Despite this, it was still a really good match. Both the Boyz and AMW came close to winning the bout on a few occasions, while Hernandez did a good impression of a one man wrecking crew and nearly won the belts himself for his team. The champs pulled through though in 14:20 when Acid pinned Estrada following a Backstreet Driver. Backstreet Boyz make defence number 10 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. C+

Backstage, Eric Bischoff and Harley Race are seen arguing vehemently about the direction of the company and the match tonight that will settle their fate, between Ernest Miller and Ken Anderson. Both men vow to see the other one gone tonight. C

Devon Storm & Super Crazy v Happy Homos (with Roger Bagwell)

Buff and Alex paraded their new ring gear on their way to the ring... Buff in a mankini and Alex in a gimp suit and mask. Make of that what you will! Their new outfits certainly threw their opponents completely off their game and let the homosexual pairing earn a comfortable victory in 10:44 when Buff Bagwell defeated Super Crazy by pinfall with a Homo Delight. Buff and Roger spanked Alex in a bizarre and gay victory celebration after the match. D+

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Desmond Wolfe (champion) v Air Paris

A cracking match which featured some great action, which was only let down by a lack of psychology on display. Wolfe did his upmost to keep Paris grounded throughout, but this didn't always work as Air often took to the air scoring some near falls in the process. Wolfe eventually did wear Paris down and retained in 14:58 by pinfall with a Guvnor's Crumpet. Desmond Wolfe makes defence number 4 of his TNA X Division title. C+

Ken Shamrock v Mike Sanders

Shamrock was dominating in this one, although Sanders to his credit refused to lay down and be defeated. He did get flashes of offence in, but Shamrock was in one of his moods where he wanted to hurt somebody. He did. Sanders. Shamrock won in 8:05 by submission with an Ankle Lock. C+

Jeff Jarrett talks to the camera, saying that the time for talking is over and the time to teach CM Punk a lesson has nearly arrived. B-

Shane Douglas speaks about the dog collar match with Rick Steiner, telling him that he will choke him with his own collar. This is the first segment tonight that hasn't gone down well with the crowd. D-

DOG COLLAR MATCH

Rick Steiner v Shane Douglas

A vicious match in which both wrestlers bled profusely. The chain connecting the two dog collars was used numerous times as a weapon including Douglas wrapping it around Steiner's neck and the ring post, choking him with it. Steiner recovered sufficiently to utilise the chain to brutal effect himself in 17:31 when he won by pinfall with a Top Rope Bulldog having wrapped the chain around Douglas' head. C+

'THE AUTHORITY BET'

Ernest Miller (with Harley Race) v Mr Anderson (with Eric Bischoff)

Disappointing, especially with the build up and a lot of hopes on this match being good. With so many performing so well up until this match, this is going to do neither Miller nor Anderson any favours at all. The ending was just about the only noteworthy part of the match. With Rudy Charles having taken a bump and recovering in the corner of the ring, Ernest Miller stood in the ring over a prone Mr Anderson. Eric Bischoff came into the ring, trying to prevent Miller from doing any further damage. This prompted Harley Race to get in too, only he handed Miller a steel chair and told him to take out Bischoff.

SMACK

Harley Race gets laid out by Ernest Miller! The crowd rain in a chorus of boos before Miller lies on the canvas, Bischoff revives Rudy Charles and Anderson crawls over and drapes an arm over Miller. Charles counts slowly and Anderson wins in 17:21 by pinfall. Anderson and Bischoff both raise Miller's hand following the match. D

Bischoff then abuses Harley Race as he leaves the ringside arena, battered, bruised and dejected. C-

Sid Vicious v Steve Corino

The standard picked back up as Sid used his power and psychoticness to combat Corino's cheating and cunning. Corino looked very good but picked up a loss going into his TV Title Tournament Final match against Desmond Wolfe on the next Impact. Sid's victory came in 18:47 by pinfall with a Powerbomb. C

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

'REAL WORLD V CLEAN WORLD'

Jeff Jarrett (champion) v CM Punk

One of the longest matches in TNA's history and it was engrossing through out. Both men had prolonged spells of sustained offence with neither Jarrett nor Punk willing to take defeat. Indeed, Punk hit his Go To Sleep while Jarrett hit The Stroke only for the other man to kick out on the stroke of three.

About 35 minutes into the match, Buff Bagwell strode out to the ring, still in his bright green mankini. This immediately got Punk's attention. Partly due to him being grossed out by Bagwell's ring attire, but also because Buff Bagwell is one of TNA's wrestlers who has failed a drugs test but it still with the company. Punk left the ring to attack Bagwell, but this simply enabled Jarrett to attack Punk from behind, which became the beginning of the end of a mighty effort by Punk. Following the distraction and attack from behind, Jarrett rolled Punk back into the ring and slapped on the Figure Four Leg Lock. Punk reached the ropes but was in a bad state and it didn't take much longer for Jarrett to take the match in 37:44 by pinfall with The Stroke. Jeff Jarrett makes defence number 15 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. C

The lights come back on. Jeff Jarrett is now cowering in the corner, as standing above him in the middle of the ring is THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR! Tenay and West go wild on commentary as Warrior beats his chest in the middle of the ring. Jarrett rolls out of the ring and runs with a look of shock and horror on his face, clutching his belt. Warrior pumps his arms into the air and the crowd cheer wildly. B-

Finally, following Bound for Glory II, Buff Bagwell came to me and told me his performances are suffering with Roger Bagwell as his manager. This is going to lead to a twist in the story.</p>

<p><strong>Impact Preview</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Bound for Glory II certainly brought some surprises as TNA enters the next chapter of it's existance.</p><p>

The biggest surprise was the arrival of Ultimate Warrior. For a number of weeks there were indications that 'He' was coming. At Bound for Glory II, 'He' arrived and it was Warrior who scared Jeff Jarrett to the extent his World Championship celebrations were cut short and he high tailed it to the back. Will he be running scared now he knows he is here?</p><p>

Another shocker was Ernest Miller's betrayal of Harley Race, a betrayal that allowed Eric Bischoff to remain as TNA authority and Harley Race to lose that position. One imagines that Miller's actions will be rewarded in some way but at the same time there will be TNA stars who will be livid at what he did.</p><p>

One of the matches scheduled for TNA's big event that was cancelled has been rearranged for Impact. American Dragon's open challenge will be answered by Paul London after all and TNA's first ever TV Champion will be crowned when Desmond Wolfe bids to become the first TNA double champion when he squares off against Steve Corino in the tournament final.</p><p> </p><p>

Watch Spike TV on Saturday night to see where TNA goes under the rule of Bischoff.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Doug Williams defeated Austin Aries in 7:23 by pinfall with a Revolution DDT. D+

Impact

Saturday, week 4, October 2003

Monmouth PE Building, Monmouth, OR.

Live on Spike TV.

Jeff Jarrett walks to the ring, proudly still wearing the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt. His pride soon turns to anger though as he questions who the hell Ultimate Warrior thinks he is, spoiling his celebration at Bound for Glory II and shocking him when he turned out the lights.

The lights go out again. The loud booming voice is heard again.

HE'S HERE

The lights come back on. Jarrett nearly jumps out of his boots as he sees Ultimate Warrior standing mere inches in front of him. Jarrett asks what he hell does he think he is doing, he nor Bischoff have signed Warrior to a TNA deal. Warrior roars, beats his chest and says two words... "Harley Race". The crowd cheers. Jarrett dismisses Warrior, saying that Race has no stroke any more, but Warrior replies that he was signed before Bound for Glory II and he is here for one reason... to destroy Jeff Jarrett.

Then, CM Punk's music plays. He walks to the ring and asks what is this bull****? Warrior is exactly the sort of man TNA should not employ as TNA should be trying to clean up wrestling and not relive it's dark, drug laden days. Punk is drug, smoke and drink free. He is the example of what an athlete should be. TNA should try to follow that example to set a good example to all the children. He says that Warrior might have had all his little Warriors back in the day, but times have changed and people are wiser. As for Jarrett... he makes Punk sick.

Before Warrior or Jarrett can respond, Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell's music plays. As Buff enters the ring, he slaps Jarrett on the ass, which Jarrett is less than impressed with. Buff tells Punk people can change. He has reformed from his drug taking past, what is to say Warrior hasn't. Since he came off the drugs, Buff has found a wonderful new life and partner. Punk interrupts by sucking off Roger is not wonderful. Buff goes berserk and tears into Punk and Jarrett soon assists. However, despite Punk's earlier comments, Ultimate Warrior comes to Punk's aid and Gorilla Presses both Buff and Jarrett out of the ring. He offers Punk a hand up, who refuses and rolls out of the ring. Jarrett tells Warrior and Punk that he will see them next week on Impact... in a tag team match. C+

Robert Roode v Vampiro

The opening bout was a solid enough contest where Vampiro looked strong against Roode. Roode did put some offence in but Vampiro took everything Roode had and emerged victorious in 6:21 by pinfall with a Nail in the Coffin. D+

Backstage and Ernest Miller is being confronted by Rick Steiner about his betrayal of Harley Race, chastising him for what he did and saying that Harley Race was trying to do only good for TNA. Miller tells Steiner he needs to wake up and see the true direction that TNA is going. C-

Elsewhere backstage and Shane Douglas and Ken Shamrock are exchanging words about Douglas helping to orchastrate the removal of Harley Race and installation of Eric Bischoff as the sole authority in TNA. This leads Douglas to come out to the ring, where he makes it publicly known that he wants to face Ken Shamrock at Turning Point. Shamrock comes out and accepts by punching Douglas in the mouth. C-

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP FOR THE X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Christopher Daniels v Super Crazy

A barely watchable match where both men struggled to build momentum and a chain of offence. Daniels took this one to face the champion at Turning Point in 10:23 by pinfall with a Last Rites. D

A music video is shown to promote the NWA TNA Tag Team Champions, Backstreet Boyz. C-

Dusty Rhodes speaks from backstage and expresses his disappointment in Harry Smith. He says that Smith had unlimited potential and that he tried to get him to go on the straight and narrow. He remarks that CM Punk has a very good case and he is sad that Smith would not go down that route. He finishes by saying he is looking for another young star to take under his wing. C+

'Alpha Male' Monty Brown & Devon Storm v Ring Wizards

Better than the previous two matches and one where Anderson and Quackenbush looked quite slick. Their superior teamwork paved the way to a win in 9:23 when Mr Anderson defeated Devon Storm by pinfall after using brass knuckles while Robert Brisko was being distracted by Mike Quackenbush. C-

Backstage and Steve Corino is making efforts to bury the hatchet with Sid Vicious, telling him that Eric Bischoff instructed him to try and take Sid out and he wants to let bygones be bygones. Sid not surprisingly is sceptical, regardless, Corino wishes him luck for the future. D+

AMERICAN DRAGON'S OPEN CHALLENGE

American Dragon v Paul London

A sound enough match that was full of intensity as it had build up to the recent pay per view that Paul London was unavailable to attend. Dragon was ****sure throughout the match and for the majority had reason to be. He took it in 14:02 by submission with an Arms Across America. C-

Following the bell, Dragon refuses to let go of Arms Across America and only does so when the referee threatens him with disqualification. E+

A music video is shown to promote the training habits of Desmond Wolfe. Road work, mat work, cardiovascular and weight training all make up the intensive program as he bids to become TNA's first double champion and first TV Champion. C

TNA TV TITLE TOURNAMENT FINAL

Desmond Wolfe (X Division Champion) v Steve Corino

This match was disappointing given it was a tournament final and the expectations that these two guys would put on a good match. Both men fought hard as you would expect but the quality did not meet expectation. The ending was rather chaotic. As Eric Bischoff had come to the ring and was conversing with Robert Brisko, Ernest Miller and Shane Douglas both ran in and attacked Desmond Wolfe. Corino questioned what they were doing and Bischoff yelled at him to make the cover. Corino did and wins the TNA TV title in 14:59. D+

After the match, Eric Bischoff grabs the mic and announces that he is amassing an army to fight the fight for him and TNA. Ernest Miller and Shane Douglas are good loyal soldiers and he is glad to have them on board. He tells Corino he also wants him. Corino looks at Bischoff holding the TNA TV Title with a hint of contempt following how he won the belt as Impact goes off air. C

Show rating: D+

The show might have hurt TNA's popularity overall.

Attendance: 2000 (sellout)

TV rating: 0.76 (new TNA record)

Loss: $50,458
