World Championship Wrestling 1995 :: Take Two

Recommended Posts

Two actually tough matches for me to select from!

Flyin' Brian vs. Eddie Guerrero

Both men are useful but at this point in their careers, I think Flyin' Brian has just a little more to offer.

WCW World Tag Team Championship: The American Males© vs. The Blue Bloods

I hate selecting against The Blue Bloods but it's the more logical choice. And I've actually met one wrestler from each team in real life: Marcus Bagwell and Bobby Eaton.

We've got a great show lined up for you tonight, including a Cruiserweight Championship semi-final match between Flyin' Brian and Eddy Guerrero. Also, in tag team action, The American Males will try to defend their recently acquired titles against The Blue Bloods.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Heenan: </strong>I never understood that. Isn't blood...red?</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Bischoff: </strong>I don't think that's what they're getting at, Brain. It means they are of noble descent.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Heenan: </strong>Yea, they are a decent tag team - you're right!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>Unfamiliar music fills the arena as fans anxiously wait to see who comes through the entrance. Finally, in jeans and a white t-shirt, comes the man whom everyone wants to know about - Lex Luger. Questions like, 'Why are you here?' or 'Why did you interrupt two matches?'. Well, I'm here because I want to be in the best company that wrestling can offer. That <em>other</em> company I was working for just didn't offer me the best talent in the world to beat. I want to be the very best and I'm only going to get that here in WCW. Which leads me to answer the second question. I interrupted two matches because I learned a long time ago that to be the best, you've got to beat the best. Right now, there's no question that Hulk Hogan is the best wrestler on the planet. He's the World Heavyweight Champion. I had to make sure he remained champion, so that I can beat the best and become the champion at the same time. So, in order to prove myself to <em>myself</em>, well I'll just say it....I want a shot at The Hulkster.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>"I am a real American..." You interfered in, not one, but <em>two</em> of my matches because you want a shot at me? One of my matches was a tag team match. I don't get it, dude. You want to beat me and win the title, so you interfere in a tag match? If you wanted to beat me so badly, why didn't you just come straight to me, man-to-man.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Luger: </strong>You don't think I tried, Hulk? I went through every resource I had to try to get a job in WCW, but with the past I've had with some guys here, the negotiations got nowhere. The only way I could get in was to get a paying ticket like everyone else. And the only way I could get the attention of WCW was to climb right over those rails and walk right into the ring! That's why I interfered in your match with Sting and in your tag team match.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hogan:</strong> Well, you sure got my attention now, brother. But you gotta know there's some crazy stuff goin' on around here right now. There's very few people I can trust, and you're just not one of them, man. If I let you get your shot, how do I know that three Horsemen won't surprise attack me and leave me layin' in the ring while you walk off with the belt?</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Luger: </strong>Well...you don't, Hulk. I guess you can't trust me, but you've gotta <em>believe </em>me. I know I have history with Flair, but Hulk, I have nothing to do with the Horsemen! You've gotta believe that.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hogan: </strong>Nothing, huh? Well, I'll let you prove yourself, brother! Right here, tonight! But I'll tell you this, dude, I'm not givin' you a shot at the belt until you prove yourself like a man in this ring. If you beat me tonight, I'll give you your shot at the title. But I swear, if I get jumped by a single Horsemen, I'll personally see to it that you don't ever step foot in WCW again!</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><em>Luger steps forward to shake Hogan's hand. Riggs comes sprinting in the ring to clothesline Regal, and then charges towards Eaton on the apron and knocks him to the ground. He heads back towards Regal but then stops short. Walking down the ramp are the challengers for the titles at Fall Brawl. Harlem Heat, dressed in street clothes, split up around the ring. Bagwell, while still clearly exhausted on the apron, tries his best to fight off Stevie Ray, but to no avail as Stevie tosses him to the mat below. Meanwhile, Booker T walks into the ring and begins brawling with Riggs who fights back evenly, that is, until Stevie joins in and the unfair beating begins. Hogan then backs up against the ropes and charges towards Luger for the Leg Drop...but Luger rolls out of the way! What heart! Luger gets to his feet and tries to connect with a shoulder takedown, but Hogan dodges it. As Hogan turns back to face Luger, Luger is already ready for him with a kick to the gut. Hogan leans over with the wind knocked out of him and Luger picks him up over his shoulders. He's got Hogan in the Torture Rack!! The ref comes to Hogan, picks his arm up once....twice...thre....NO!!! Hogan gets his arm up, but Luger is still applying the hold! Once again, the ref lifts Hogan's arm up once....twice...but NO! The ref counts to see who will get to his feet first...1...2...3...4...5..6...Hogan gets up! With Luger still on the mat, he goes for the leg drop again. While trying to use the ropes for extra momentum, he is suddenly tripped! RIC FLAIR has come from underneath the ring and drills Hogan in the back with a steel chair! The ref didn't see it....but Lex Luger did! Arn Anderson and DDP come down to the ring screaming at Luger to pin Hogan.....but he refuses!!! That Hacksaw/Meng interview was classic! I laughed when I saw that Mean Gene was going to interview Meng, because like you said I don't ever remember Meng talking not in WCW or the WWF. And then to have Duggan knock him out!:D Like I said that was great, and the show was great as well!

Good nitro. Good main event for fall brawl. Expecting the heels (horsemen) to take the war games though. Rdy for da ppv

I'm reading... but THAT commercial made me comment.

I remember seeing that ALL the time. I was, um... 8 in 1995.

*sheepishly walks off*

Haha, well I wasn't all to old back then either. But seriously, I looked up 1995 videos on YouTube, found that one...it's 10 minutes long and I watched all 10 minutes with a smile on my face. It really took me back!

Thanks. I was trying to really enhance Jim Duggans gimmi.....well I'll just say it: I needed some comedy. My shows were getting a little too intense, and comedy was really starting to take off during this time. And who better than Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Meng, right?:p

I am not sure why I found this funny but I did.

Oh believe me, it was funny when I read it, too, and consequently when I fined him. Didn't you just try to picture it when it happened? I'm surprised he made it out alive.

Hulk Hogan, Sting, Randy Savage, and Lex Luger vs. The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Diamond Dallas Page, and the unconfirmed fourth member, The Giant)

During the debut edition of Nitro, the reformation of the Four Horsemen was announced by Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. A week later, Diamond Dallas Page was announced the third member. The weeks following, however, have only given us more questions than answers. On a Nitro in which Flair promised the announcement of the Fourth Horsemen, he did so by declaring it one of the men in the ring, Hulk Hogan, Sting, Randy Savage, The Giant, and Lex Luger. Meanwhile, it was assumed Luger was the Fourth Horsemen for his constant interferences in the main event, however on the last Nitro, he had apparently earned Hogan's trust. At which point, it was deduced by process of elimination that the Fourth Horsemen was The Giant. Now, in order to seek revenge for Flair's attempts to pit the top good guys against each other, a blood-filled main event at Fall Brawl may lay ahead in a Wargames match.

The American Males© vs. Harlem Heat

On the premier of Nitro, The American Males won the WCW World Tag Team titles, but were quickly challenged by the no-nonsense Harlem Heat. During a month of taunting by Harlem Heat, will they live up to their word, or will the Males be able to shut them up?

Randy Savage vs. The Giant (w/ Dungeon of Doom)

Randy Savage premiered on Nitro to promote his desire to be the top dog in WCW, only to be beaten down by the Dungeon of Doom, in which The Giant presumably has those same intentions in WCW. Instead of working his way to the top, he and his crew went straight there by taking down Savage on multiple occasions. Savage seeks revenge in this match, while The Giant seeks inflicting physical pain.

Jim Duggan vs. Meng

Last week on Nitro, Meng was finally going to speak in WCW in an interview with Gene Okerlund. However, before a single word came out of his mouth, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and his nickel sized bladder came strolling through with a 2x4 that inadvertently knocked Meng to the floor. This match was scheduled by WCW with the idea that Meng should have the right to seek his own justice for this incident. Duggan, however, is a proud fighter. Will Meng get his cake and eat it to?

WCW WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

The Renegade© vs. Diamond Dallas Page

Diamond Dallas Page made it clear from day one that he was going to be a champion in WCW, and that he was after the TV title held by The Renegade. Shortly thereafter, he was announced as a member of the Four Horsemen. Now, with the backing of one of the most influential men in wrestling history, will he too become a champion? Or will the charismatic Renegade beat all odds and come out on top?

WCW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Eddy Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho

Eric Bischoff promised an influx of cruiserweight talent from all across the world. He came through on his promise by holding a tournament to decide the WCW Cruiserweight Champion. The two men that survived the fight to this point are two very quick, agile, and technically sound wrestlers who have a lot to prove in WCW. This match is sure to be exciting and jaw-dropping.

How could I vote against the Horsemen? Sting or Luger pull the swerve and join up with team Four Horsemen

WCW World Tag Team Championship: The American Males© vs. Harlem Heat

Got nothing against the American Males, but the Ebony Experience, I mean Harlem Heat are just better.

Randy Savage vs. The Giant

Savage gets the win here but is beaten down after the match.

Jim Duggan vs. Meng

HOOOOOOOO! Tough guy! USA! USA! USA!

WCW World Television Championship: The Renegade© vs. Diamond Dallas Page

PLEASE let Page win this one!

WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Eddy Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho

The man of 1004 holds walks away with the win!

I agree with angeldelayette, but I think it is either going to be Lex or nobody that joins the Horsemen. Either way the Four Horsemen should win.

WCW World Tag Team Championship: The American Males© vs. Harlem Heat

Okay I was a big fan of Harlem Heat and I hated the American Males...so I guess there you go...

Randy Savage vs. The Giant

Jim Duggan vs. Meng

This is epic! I think that Jim will win but I think it might be via D.Q. as Meng looks for revenge for Hacksaw hitting him in the head with the 2X4

WCW World Television Championship: The Renegade© vs. Diamond Dallas Page

Not to speak ill of the dead but The Renegade was horrible, the sooner you get the title off of him the better.

WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Eddy Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho

Giant likely isn´t the fourth Horsemen so they pick a win after someone on Hogan´s team turn against others

WCW World Tag Team Championship: The American Males© vs. Harlem Heat

Males just got the belts so they retain here

Randy Savage vs. The Giant

Giant take this one with size advantage

Jim Duggan vs. Meng

Hard to see Meng losing here

WCW World Television Championship: The Renegade© vs. Diamond Dallas Page

I don´t actually know anything about Renegade but it´s his first title defence so I think he will retain

WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Eddy Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho

This will be interesting fight
