5SSW Coronation Road: 12.08.2010

*The free internet stream continues on from the matches, a cheap but effective graphic announces the winners of the road. It's a wide shot behind it of the ring and the crowd exiting and satisfied. Somewhere in the masses is Yuu, with her notebooks and yellow post-it pads. But the camera doesn't find her as it fades and shifts into the broadcasting area.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster75/KuniyoshiChishuconv.jpg

"Raku really took all the chances she could find tonight, and made a couple that she couldn't"

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster75/KatsuhikoShunsenconv.jpg

"The owner of 5SSW really knows how to motivate her roster. The Empress Cup has sparked everyone in the back. They all think they have a shot at it."

"And they all did, but tonight 7 more were eliminated from the Coronation Road. But before we get into tonight's action, let's get tonight guests settled in."

"Two woman you don't want to keep waiting, that's for sure."

*Crusher Ichihara didn't smile at the joke as she sat down in an open chair at the announcer's table. But the Lizard Queen? She was more than pleased as usual.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWnews/SakurakoKagawa.jpg

"Gentlemen, did you enjoy Round B?"

*There was only one correct answer to this.

"As Katsuhiko was just saying, the entire roster has really stepped onto the road with all of their passion and fighting spirit."

"I think it's natural. If you give anyone a clean page, they will always give you their best. This year has been very long and exciting. I think many women were running with little fuel. This was the only way I could think of to finish the year strong, to cut the lines of history."

"Ichihara-san, any surprises for you tonight?"

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/TalkingCrusherIchihara.jpg

"Huntress Makiko. She must really love to lose because she keeps finding ways to do it."

"Definitely an upset, I think. But she did draw into the triple threat match, those are always dangerous."

"Nice excuse, I'm sure she'll use that. If she asks me? I'll tell her that she lost and that she shouldn't have. She was the most talented woman in that match. But it's obvious now that her mind isn't in it. So she'll just keep on losing until it is."

*Crusher was not prone to cheerleading and mindless rah-rah. No one expected it from her.*

"Kagawa-san, for you?"

"I will agree in spirit with Crusher. Huntress Makiko being eliminated was surprising. I was also surprised that Joanne Rodriguez did not surprise us, if that makes any sense. When we were scouting new talent, her name was on the top every list made. So Kiko really did an excellent job tonight. We should all expect her to go far down the road. I have to say, I really enjoyed watching Amber and Kuniko go at it. Two young women with nothing lose. They really made the night special."

"They were incredible and gave us a lot of energy. Katsuhiko, where does the road go from here?"

"I think the road becomes a mountain from here on out. Each round is going to become more difficult. The level jump from round 1 to round 2 is steep. Everyone will have to keep that in mind and not take their opponents too lightly."

"Ichihara?"

"He's correct. I have seen the Round 2 match-ups and they make Round 1 look like a cake baking class. One way or another, some self proclaimed elites are going to be kicked to the side of this road."

"Kagawa-san?"

"Crusher is absolutely correct. Round 2 will no longer be about clean slates and fresh starts. That was Round 1. Round 2 is all about survival as these women will begin meeting faces from their past and who know them quite well. I can't wait for it."

"Neither can me, Kagawa-san. But until next week, we will. Thank you for joining us. Goodnight everyone."

5SSW Coronation Road Results:

Held: Tuesday, Week 2, December 2010

Location: Doshisha Athletic Center (Kinki)

Attendance: 445

The second group of Round 1 has finished up to a good crowd, and seems to be meeting The Lizard Queens expectations. Round 2 looks promising as some of the top names in Joshi are expected to finally meet.

5SSW Heading In A New Direction?

With the re-emergence of The Lizard Queen on camera and at the wheel, there has been a noticeable change in the style of the product. Sensational Ogiwara and Crusher Ichihara have both taken a more visible role in the company and fans have been responding very positively to it. Let's face it, 'The Golden Era' will never be forgotten. The matches have become more sport than drama as the year continues to wind down. Overall, the fans seem to be enjoying it but one name have been asked about more and more in the forums. Where is Yuu Onuki? Is she quietly behind this not so subtle change? Or has the company moved on without their 'Oracle'?

Noodleshop: The summer is tricky in this diary land, I am thinking. I know I do more play outside than it is usual. But I keep going, yes? Round 2, it should be more interesting and soon. The story will finally take a final shape I think too. I think most know something, if not all. I am not that subtle in writing I fear it. With all the eyes, of course.

*With much official language and protocol of stiff and collars... Yuu had nagivated the Japanese banking system with parts of luck, ambiguity and luck again. A week had passed and the answer had finally come after customary reviews of faces saved against future catastrophe. It was then.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/bankimages.jpg

"You have a green light, Ms. Onuki. You may proceed per our outlined agreements as soon as you are in posession of the finalized documents. We sent them by courier this morning."

*It was now.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/TalkingYuu.jpg

"I received them 7 minutes ago, Mr. Mitsuhara."

"Then I personally wish you good luck, Ms. Onuki. But we will be expecting your first financial report on February 1, 2011."

*Yuu stared at a yellow pot-it with those very facts printed in the thick and the black of non-fading ink.*

"Your expectations are a most important line that is present and of now. You will be receiving it."

"You are an... unusual woman, Ms. Onuki. Good luck and good day."

*The phone disconnected as Yuu let her practiced focus and voice of business things fade away to the lines of possibility. Colors of light and dash behind closed eyes as a future to its very first breath. Her finger tips strayed across the final draft of the Round 2, Coronation Road card. Fresh for the printers shop of pressing. Eyes that are everywhere.*

"Now."

*It meant many things.*

Week 3, December, 2010

HEART Saitoh vs. Kuniko Matsura

I see HEART as more motivated and businesslike

Chitose Ariwara vs. Shiori Jippensha

First upset. Shiori was too far above her first round opponent to lose, but she is still a problem child, and Chitose is getting a mild push.

Yuma Maruya vs. Umeko Hotta

Umeko's final run doesn't include beating one of your top stars

Raku Makuda vs. Rei Chikanatsu

With HEART going through, Rei loses here to Raku

Kiko Sakakibara vs. Dragon Assassin

Assassin is moving up, and Kiko is on the decline

Saori Nakadan vs. Otsune Tsummura

Saori is a main eventer, and I don't think Otsune is quite at that level

DEVIL Karube vs. Megumi Nakajima

Could go DEVILS way, but this is a big match up and one I think Megumi takes to put her on DEVIL's level

*Yuu watched everything unfold as always, from her perch of low light and above. But today was not as always, she watched with different eyes... the lines unfold. She watched them as she imagined the Queen might once had had, before the game had ended and the wars replaced with fat.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/TalkingYuu.jpg

"I will be the bringing of them to the back... from their places of dustiness."

*Yuu gnawed on a pencil eraser after her words fell upon no one at all. Who would join her, yes? Under the banner of money or freedom or dreams.*

"Under the banner that is karma?"

*Was that not Yuu's fuel in the end? She would wear the mask. She would become the very thing they called her. 'The Oracle'.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/Prophecy1.jpg

*Yuu jotted her prophecy as Megumi Nakajima fell to the DEVIL. A DEVIL who would never join her, it was a truth of fear. DEVIL Karube was the present of all and things... but Yuu would not build in that time of the lines.*

DEVIL Karube vs. HEART Saitoh vs. Yuma Maruya

Winner: Yuma Maruya

Loser: HEART Saitoh

I've never believed DEVIL was winning this tournament (what would be the point?), but I mistakenly thought Megumi would bounce her in the last round.

Kiko Sakakibara vs. Saori Nakadan

Saori will win.

Chitose Ariwara vs. Raku Makuda

The first match of the third round on the Coronation Road started with two of the younger women facing each other. What they lacked in psychology they more than made up for in physicality as both women defied gravity and personal safety to advance. Raku seemed desperate, as always and Chitose was able to capitalize each time. Raku was teetering on the edge until both women took an ugly spill over the top rope to the outside. Raising the stakes for everyone in the building, Raku launched Chitose into the first four rows of seating as people scrambled to get clear. It was a human wreck. Chitose's tag team partner came out and tried to separate Chitose from the cheap seating, but this only allowed Raku to get into position on the top rope for a spectacular flying wheel kick. It was only a matter of time and position from there and Raku pad for both with her body. Swanton Bomb! 3! A disturbing pose from the winner as she spits a bloody mist into the air, above her own head.

Official Result: Raku Makuda defeated Chitose Ariwara

Rating: C-

Kiko Sakakibara vs Saori Nakadan

A completely different affair from the first match as the two women have seen it all. It's all business as soon as the bell rings with both women looking for any pinfall, and Saori looking for any short cut along the way. Halfway in and it's obvious Kiko is out wrestling Saori Nakadan as the Nakadan Spike is reversed into stiff DDT. As Kiko looks for the Kingdom Quake, but Saori takes two handfuls of hair and drops into an illegal and painful jawbreaker. Nakadan Spike! But Kiko is too close to the ropes and falls out of the ring beneath the bottom rope. Saori pounds her fists, but decides not to follow as the referee counts. Kiko back in at the count and Saori picks up where she left off, trying to stay on top of Kiko and looking for a second Spike to finish it. Kiko blocks, Northern Lights Suplex with a Bridge. That was sudden power! And a sudden 3! Both women stay down after the bell, but Kiko will move down the road.

Official Result: Kiko Sakakibara defeated Saori Nakadan

Rating: D

DEVIL Karube vs. HEART Saitoh vs. Yuma Maruya

This is the match that has everyone talking. Before the match even starts the crowd goes crazy as Sensational Ogiwara leads her long time student, HEART Saitoh, to the ring. No pressure there for the youngest contestant in tonight's Main Event. Yuma comes out to a strong ovation but nothing compares to the noise that DEVIL Karube generates. It's that simple. She's that good.

Ogiwara stays at ringside, and that's just the fuel HEART seems to need as she launches the first strike straight at DEVIL Karube head on. Stiff forearm shots before she sends DEVIL off the ropes, Momentum Facebuster to the World Champion. HEART spins around just in time to eat a Dropkick by Yuma from the blind side. This match is officially underway! The pace is set to high, but with these three women in the ring it just never slows down. HEART is wrestling from another planet, and they must be very proud as the 14 minute mark rolls around. Everyone knows the end is near because they don't have much left. It always comes down to fighting spirit, as DEVIL pushes the hair from her face and demands that Yuma and HEART finish this. Yuma smiles at DEVIL, but HEART answer going straight for DEVIL again. She unloads on the World Champion until she is backed into a corner. The crowd is nuts for it until Yuma comes in from behind, Reverse DDT on HEART! But HEART was the only thing holding DEVIL back. Boot to the mid-section, Devil Drop to Yuma! DEVIL screams into the air. Heart Breaker! What!? But HEART collapses on top of Yuma and hooks that leg at 2 and 3!

Official Result: HEART Saitoh defeated DEVIL Karube and Yuma Maruya by pinning Yuma Maruya.

HEART Saitoh Shocks!

But the DEVIL lives to fight another day as Round 3 of the 5SSW Coronation Road turned on a dime. With her teacher, Sensational Ogiwara, leading her to the ring it was HEART Saitoh who stole the Main Event by pinning and eliminating Yuma Maruya. It's down to four, and the end is in sight.

Noodleshop: Shock! Upset! Intrigue! No? Yes, it was surprising in its finish. But we are not finished... it is not of the yet or now. Two Shimmer Diaries? It is good karma. I have much to read now. Hall of Fame! I voted, did you? Yes? It is a silly question for your eyes again.

*Once again the internet starts to stream from 5SSW as the end is near for Coronation Road. Low quality music and quite generic music plays in the background as the round table begins on what will occur that night which was indeed unfolding.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster75/KuniyoshiChishuconv.jpg

"Welcome, again, to Coronation Road. But it's a road that just keeps on changing as we are down to four names, and three of those would have to be considered surprises."

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWroster75/KatsuhikoShunsenconv.jpg

"I think we all knew DEVIL was going to go far down the road, this is her year. Kiko is a veteran of this game, so I don't know if I would call her a surprise. She has all the tools to get it done. But if you told me two meeks ago that HEART and Raku would still be standing on the road when others like Megumi Nakajima, Dragon Assassin and Huntress Makiko were watching from the side? I would have called you insane."

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWnews/SakurakoKagawa.jpg

"That is why I designed Coronation Road, Katsuhiko. It is the final chance to change your fortunes before the year ends. Forget about the feuds. Forget about the history. Forget about the lines. Be new before the year becomes old."

"HEART Saitoh is definitely a new woman and what an emotional moment it was to have Sensational Ogiwara join her inside the actual ring."

"That was a huge honor. Most of our fans may not know this, but once a woman retires from the ring she will only set foot inside of it again for very important and personal reasons. I think HEART Saitoh could have taken on the entire roster that night with that single gesture from her teacher."

"The story of HEART is touching. But I'm more impressed with what Raku has done. Here is a woman who, at the beginning of the year, seemed destined to be in the Main Event only to lose it all, and I mean all. This entire year she has floundered, but here on Coronation Road she has re-discovered herself. She has never looked better."

"The stars of the future always have the most interesting stories. But now they have to face two of 5SSW's finest veterans. Kiko Sakakibara, who has carried more matches than HEART and Raku combined and my personal favorite to win it all: The World Champion, DEVIL Karube."

"I think you may be right Kagawa-san. HEART and Raku have done incredibly well to get this far, but facing the likes of "Bubble Gum" Kiko and the DEVIL herself? I think the road turns here, and I think that will be the Main Event and the road's end."

"It's hard to argue with the owner, but I still think it is anyone's Road to take. If HEART can keep her spirit burning as bright as last week? She will be tough to beat. But I personally like Raku's chances after her disturbing end of match scene. This is where she should have been, and now that she is here? I don't know if anyone can match her form of violence."
